"Well, that was a conversation about QuickTime events that was definitely not a quick time, but we had a good time and that's the important part. So press press circle in the comments below to let us know how you feel about quit to some events or I guess we're going to probably figure out a nice poll, which is kind of like a really slow quick time event if you think about it. One of the most famous what you feel anyway. Yeah, speaking of asura's wrath grade big, huge exciting anime fight sequences, Dragon Ball Z tenkaichi budokai for was announced. After 16 years since the last mainline entry in the series, this was, I mean, I'm going to go on a limb and say this is like the definitive Dragon Ball video game series. Yes. The past fighting ones. Yes, the ten KG series was the series of you were playing in Dragon Ball Z fighting. I mean, the early budokai games were great, but once we got to ten kaichi, it was just a whole nother level. And there was no going back after that. So we got a little teaser that is cool. It shows some clips of the old stuff, and then it has like a shot of it's like a little CRT TV to remember, remember. I really like, I really like that they went with the CRT scene. It really kind of takes you back to like, oh yeah, when I was playing this, it was on a CRT, a little tiny TV. And then it erupts at the end and we get the full screen. Remember high school? Remember four three aspect ratio? Well, it's gone because Goku's killed it. No, I like that they've got Goku is super sane blue, whatever it's called blue raspberry warhead flavor. But yeah, since this game came out, they've added how many different transformations throughout super and the various movies? Yeah, quite a bit, quite a bit. And also, not only that, I'm glad to see that they're going with the cel shading, the cel shaded look for this new game that's coming out, because from my memory, I don't think the original boutique games were actual, they weren't sell shaded, right? No, they were like, they were just kind of low poly, like very flat. Flat render, which was, it looked good, but it wasn't cel shaded. This is going to look like Dragon Ball fighters is so good. So good-looking. And I don't know if y'all noticed this, but it seems like bandai namco comes out with a new. I know it's been like what 16 years since we got a Buddha game, but like banning namco's been coming out with new Dragon Ball related games like almost every single year since we hit like what like the mid 90s early 2000s, there's been a new I'm assuming that that must be like a licensing thing because we've gotten some good games and we've gotten some bad ones like what last year we got Dragon Ball the breakers didn't remember that like a ripoff of dead by dating. When I asked idea, but yeah. It was just such a mess of a game. I mean we had we had kakarot before that it definitely seems like with the exception of the breakers. They've gotten better about really I mean for a minute it felt like very much that kind of this is just licensed games, but I think like fully committing to a 2D fighter or an RPG. Again, I wish that kakarot had like a little bit extra love, but this is going to be cool. This is going to be good. Weird thing is the last version to get released of this was in 2012. They put out the HD collection. One and three. They skipped two. Yeah, which was I'm not even sure why that was the case. Was it we don't talk about too much. It wasn't. No energy blast, everyone had to stay on the ground the whole time. They made, I can't remember exactly what it was, but it lost a lot of that the feeling that we got when we played one. It just wasn't like it felt a little soulless. It felt kind of like normally when you see a game based on an anime, generally the first iteration is very basic and you're like, I'm gonna wait for the sequel. I'm gonna wait for number two because then they'll have the next arc that's already out. Like this is just the starter. Anytime you buy, you get a new Naruto game. It's like, cool, we get up to the tune in exams. And that's it. And it's like, why I don't want to play through the tune and that's not enough content. But as you get to further, the second one is usually a fixed any of the bugs. They've expanded on it, made it a deeper experience. I mean, that's the rare thing that video games do that other media doesn't is like the second iteration is oftentimes much better because it is effectively a massive new version rather than just a straight sequel. And sometimes they drop the ball and screw it up, but I don't know, usually they save that for the third, but third but I added like a massive roster that had like doctor slump characters in there and stuff, which is cool as hell. I don't know, I just want some deep cut Tori on the stuff in there. Yeah, no, for sure. So that's good news. We also got some news about Final Fantasy 16, which, you know, we probably should have led with a week and a half ago when it broke. But basically the director talking about how it would not be possible on PS4, like it is using the new proprietary hard drive to you'll be in the middle of like a battle and it'll be like loading a cutscene in the background and basically just queuing everything up and it's that kind of like nebulous developer talk where it's really hard to understand exactly how much of this is smoke and mirrors and how much this is like actually what's going on under the hood but I don't know it's cool to hear talk about like why this generation actually matters because for the most part it's been like, okay, well I guess it's making use of more power but in this case it's multitasking a lot, which is cool to hear. How many strong feelings about FF 16? I mean, I'm excited for it mostly because of the combat designer that is there from devil May cry. And so just getting that devil May cry action, I love DMC. So getting a little bit of my Final Fantasy is a lot of fun for me. I do miss kind of the more traditional, more tactical, that Final Fantasy is known for. But they've got the classics to go back to for me to play that. And we've got Final Fantasy 7 rebirth. Coming later this year. So I'm A-okay with getting a little bit something different. That is hopefully going to bring some audience back to the Final Fantasy because it has been Final Fantasy 14. It's kind of been kind of lukewarm over the last couple of years. It hasn't drawn as big of an audience as I know square wants it to be because it is kind of like the grandfather of RPGs. Like Final Fantasy is one of the grandfathers. Obviously ultimate months. They clearly wanted for spoken to be like a whole new kind of flagship thing, which that was very much leaning on the kind of magical realism that we've come to expect from Final Fantasy where it's like, you know, intersecting recognizable real world themes and technology and stuff with a magical world. Whereas this is just straight kind of medieval fantasy. And I kind of get the feeling that maybe they wanted to sort of separate those two.

"Old number three for AI. I was thinking of number four, which means you get fuck this. From our friends at namco bandai, celebrating their new game one piece, Odyssey, all right? Oh, thanks, Greg. No problem. That's your stupid show. We'll see you from Monsanto rides at 11 o'clock be there. It's gonna be a great time. Barrett, how salty are you right now? I'm pissed. Studio was a mistake, everybody. Did you know where that was going? 'cause I did not. Never ever, ever know, you know, I was so scared while I was in that box. We rolled on punches. 'cause that's like been with the road, but I felt like that was a coward's answer. It is a coward's answer, you know? And I didn't know Mike's favorite number was two. If I knew that, I definitely would have gone with three. Bike's favorite number is two. Listen, it could have been worse, right? It could have been spy family. I do, but it's not two. What is it? 6. Okay, okay. Mine's three. Your favorite numbers? Finds four. I love four. I like 6 and I like 11. Three was always my number for baseball teams. But weird conversation. I'm just trying to transition out of the fact that I'm talking about my favorite numbers. Schemed out was the first date. Those were the group of people, girlfriends, were hanging out. They were meeting each other for the first time. And then me and my friend rabbit conversation, they were having a conversation. We stopped for a second. I just hear that. So what's your favorite animal? I just thought it was the fucking funniest thing 'cause it's like y'all are fucking grown ass women. And within the first couple minutes of speaking, somehow, what's

"Multiplayer. Do you know of? Every boring, multiplayer. What about like, I think Microsoft types. Microsoft published Jade empire. They didn't publish kotor. Were there any little puzzle games that you had head to heads in? Like Zuma? You played as a person? What about I think I may have it? Nope. I was gonna say one of my favorite cult classics breakdown. But I believe I believe that was developed. It was namco, but I think that was I mean, it's because it's definitely, it's a Japanese game. I think it was developed in Japan. You want to talk about cold classics what about fan phantom phantom dust? But Microsoft published that as I recall, are you sure? It's just deep cuts here. We're not getting any answers. Dude, yeah. So I wish you wish it would have been breakdown, but that's a first person game. How sure, I mean, I trust you, you know, Xbox better than me. But I feel like phantom dust is ticking like every single box, except if Microsoft published it, it can't be that. Not a 100% confident that Microsoft published that game. But what's phantom dust? It's so cool, dude. It's like this, it's like this third person dueling game. It's like an action game, but your actions are cards that you draw from a deck. And then it's like, if you have a fireball or whatever you have at your disposal, and then it came back, they brought it back. They did the HD port. And then it can't be it. Yeah. But it didn't get a sequel. Oh, HD remake. But I think Microsoft probably did publish it. I think they did, but I mean, you're so close. I feel like, is this game that this game featured cards in some way? Based gameplay? Was this it? You have a question. You have one question and I guess. Okay, well, you can't hold on. I mean, it must have a better guess. No, go for it. Go for it. Yes.

"There is the option that, and because rights huge, we know they're working on a ton of projects. What if they did something that was still competitive and still like, what if they did more of an Overwatch? That's what I'm getting at. Right. Where there's definitely the eSports angle of all for watch. But Overwatch is also just fun to play. And Overwatch. And it works on consoles. What if they took the world in the same way that we just saw with arcane, where it's like you can take this thing that is like a very specific audience mobas league, right? And make it a little bit more tolerable, not a little, a lot more tolerable to anybody. And I feel like they can do that because they have a world to play with, that people already love, and there's lore there, and that's how you get people in, man. So you get people in. Story number 7, sakurai seemingly teases kid Icarus uprising for the switch. This is Jason finale at GameSpot. Budding YouTube star and occasional game developer masahiro sakurai has posted another insightful video to his channel, which focuses on the difficulty system in 20 12s kid Icarus uprising for the three DS. But not without throwing in a potential hint regarding the game's feature at the end. After explaining his thought process behind uprisings, difficulty feature, which is called The Fiend's cauldron, hence the name of the video. Sakurai signs off with the following. Quote, it sure would be nice to play a kid Icarus on a kid Icarus uprising on a home console. I wonder if someone will ever port it. End quote. This is not the first time a port of the three DS exclusive uprising has been mentioned as back in July, a prominent online source would intend to related leaks named zippo, claimed that Nintendo Switch remaster was in development at bandai namco, and that would be it would feature a quote more accessible control scheme, as well as a much needed boost to the graphics end quote. Oh my God. Is this a teaser is this saccharide speaking this into existence? I think it's not going to speak into existence. My dude, I love him. I love these videos. They're so good. And I just love the energy that he brings to the games industry. I love the reverence he has for video game history. For his own games and otherwise, there's something special about saccharide games. And whether it's Kirby zero ride, any of the smash brothers or kid Icarus here. Did you play this one? No, I don't know. And that is a damn shame. Because it was stuck on the three DS, the control scheme was absolute garbage because the console, not because of the game, it would be good if you just had another analog stick. Eventually they added that horrible adapter so that gave you another analog stick on the three DS. That was fine. But it was a band aid, not a solution. This game was so good. The Polish was there, the story was there. The characters were awesome, the music was so fun. It is a blessing ass game. Like, you are going to love this game. What do you play? I guarantee it. Okay. 100%. But it's trapped. It's trapped on the three DS. And we're in this place right now where 2022, we look at all the different hardware developers out there, whether it's Nintendo Xbox or PlayStation, we talk about backwards compatibility a lot. We see things, whether it's the online functions or game pass or just ways to be able to play old games, whether it's Xbox enhancing old things, PlayStation, adding as places, so many options to play these old games. Nintendo continues to just have a so many games that are just trapped in places. With no sign of them ever actually making the transition, where any SNES N 64, all that, it's like, cool, we got them now. GameCube, I'm shocked, we don't have yet, but at some point we will. But then you look at the Diaz, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance there's ways to play some of those games, not all of them, whatever. DS gets weird because Nintendo got weird in the mid 2000s, right? We have to deal with two screens. How do you translate that to the switch? How do you translate that to just a single screen experience? Can you? There's so many weird elements that I can imagine Nintendo at some point, just being like, we're not dealing with this. Figure it out. And that sucks. And that is a very Nintendo way to handle these things. But I hope that we get this. There's so many DS and three DS games that I'd love to be able to play again. I mean, right, Pokémon, heart gold and soul silver. I hate that that game is locked to a cartridge. That's one of the most expensive cars. If you're trying to buy, if you want to play the best Pokémon game of all time, heart gold and soul silver right now. You're not going to be able to without having a three DS or DS, whatever. And buying one of these things on eBay for correct me if I'm wrong. Minimum 90 dollars? God. And it's the only fucking way. Oh man. That sucks. It's not the only one. It's not the only thing. That is ridiculous, right? So with this, I hope this happens. This game was awesome, and I feel like it was to call it slept on is incorrect. It was stranded. It was not given the support it needed. It was not given the chance to succeed. Just because it was on the three DS. The first game is what it is. The first round game. For strand game. Story number 8, the colossal protocol season pass includes new player death animations. This is Chris Golan at video games chronicle. The Callisto protocol season pass will include extra death animations for protagonist Jacob and the enemies he faces. It's been confirmed. The details of the season pass were recently added to the game's steam page, listing everything it offers.

"You get what you get what it is, right? Like this is in engine footage and it is looking this hot. Amazing. And I don't know if you finished the news story or not. But no, I didn't. Do you want to finish it real quick? This confirmation doesn't come as a huge surprising as tekken 7s around 7 years old. It's full arcade release happened in 2015. But it's nice to know that bandai namco is going the extra mile for its popular fighting game series. Previous tech and titles have been known to pull assets from the predecessors, but again, that won't be the case with this new installment. Second, it's a bit of a stunner going by its reveal trailer, which was made up of in game footage taking directly from the title running on PS5. The fact that tekken 7 came out on, I believe, console in the west in 2017. But then came out, came out years earlier in arcade, and it was based was built off of PS3 and Xbox 360, like architecture in mind. I was playing tech and 7 last night on screen, and I was, I was shocked by how dated that game looks and I don't think I ever realized how data it looked until I saw this trailer. Again, early looking at this trail, I'm like, oh yeah, this looks fantastic. This looks like next gen tech in. But then you go back to second 7, it's like, wow, that game still looks good. You know, it's not an ugly looking game by any means, but man, does that game look dated? Now that I'm actually jumping into it and seeing their hair textures and seeing the character models and seeing things that just don't look up to par with what we expect from games in 2022, especially games from the new gen working off of something like Unreal Engine 5. There is so much room for growth. And hearing that, hey, they're not going back and reusing assets from previous decades. This is going to be rebuilt from the ground up or just built from the ground up. That's super exciting. Because this game is going to look hot. I don't know if you probably remember him because you're a gamer, you're a classic gamer. Like tekken was like a techie showcase. Yeah. Back in the day. I mean, that's the thing is like, yeah, thinking back to so I have a fighting game fan, but like I am not good at all at any of them and stand by that, but I definitely always leaned more towards Street Fighter. And that's been like my franchise that gets smashed between my franchise and I'm actually like, I'm decent at that. Street Fighter, though, out of the classic ones, it's definitely number one for me. Tech and it would be the second place, mainly because of tekken three and tag tournament. And then Mortal Kombat would be after that just in terms of share. I've played a lot of them, but I never really, really, really loved them besides the storyboards of the recent ones. But with tech in, they were always there with virtua fighter of pushing tech forward in a time when Street Fighter while we look back now and we're like, yo, Street Fighter three was the sickness. At the time, a lot of people were kind of like, it's divided people, because it was like, oh man, this looks amazing. It looks like a just evolution of what we've had before. The pixel art and it's beautiful. But then there were the people that are like, it's 3D or nothing, baby. And both tekken and virtua fighter pushed the batteries in different ways. So it's cool to see tech and now using Unreal Engine 5. That's awesome. 1000%. Yeah. I can't wait. I can't wait to play. This is probably going to be the first tech game that I give a shot, especially if that story mode. But the first one I really give a shot since tekken four, which just the cell that about I was an eddy gordo guy. They didn't have any. You had to be. I had to be. I had to be, you know what I mean? Yeah. Spam circle. Let me tell you, let me tell you about a character named lucky Chloe, who similar to Eddie gordo. Eddie gordo is, of course, capua, it does a lot of flips and shit. Lucky Khloe, breakdancer. And so when I saw her in tech and 7, I was like, I gotta use this character. And for me, as somebody who was originally in Eddie Maine, picking up lucky Chloe, I was like, this girl was made for me. Like, she's got that on the headphones. When she's just when she's just like standing around, she's doing the B boy, top rock and move. It is. She's such a wonderful character to play as. And it feels like a fun evolution of Eddie in a way that I really like. But yeah, to your point, right? Talking about tech and talking about these games kind of appealing to different fan bases. It's funny enough, I'm like you, but in the opposite way where tekken was and has been my fighting game of choice, I've been more of the 3D fighter person than the 2D fighter person. But also if I'm ranking the hierarchy of fighting games for me, it is smashes at the top. But then also you then get down to Mortal Kombat and then probably tech in right there and those can shift any sort of way. And then right there also a soulcalibur. But there's not really been the modern modern soul calibur games haven't captioned me as much as soulcalibur two back in the day. Even though when they come out, I'll still play them and I'll still enjoy them. But yeah, I think these next couple of years, who knows in tech and a comes out, hopefully it comes out next year or the year after. I think these next couple of games between Street Fighter 6, tech and 8, and then even project L, I think those are going to create a big wave of people who weren't originally into fighting games or are casually in defining games. Those people coming in because I imagine I imagine you're going to play Street Fighter 6. It sounds like you're going to check in a lot of people in the show. And project out comes out. I think it's going to create this swell of interest because it's riot and riot right now are known as the live service, multiplayer gods in the game right now. And so I think that's going to create a lot of conversation. And it's going to be free to play. And so with that, there's not really much to lose. I think these three games are going to be huge as far as what the next couple of years of final games look like. Let alone, we don't know NetherRealm was doing. A new moral combat dropping is going to have the same impact as well. So fighting is in a really great place right now. Absolutely. Yeah. Can you imagine if all three came out next year? You talk about project LGBT fighters? No, Mortal Kombat. I mean, there's a high, there's a high pressure. There is a chance, yeah. I think I might believe in Mortal Kombat coming out more than tekken. Tekken 8 for some reason for me feels more 2024. Maybe that's just because they said stay tuned and as opposed to the concrete date. But Mortal Kombat feels like it's overdue. I feel like we should have gotten a new Mortal Kombat by now. Or at least you

"Story number three being my namco is working to secure IP and partnerships amid all these acquisitions. This is from Tom Ivan at video games chronicle. Ellen ring publisher, bandai namco, has discussed its efforts to secure IP and partnerships with developers amid the recent spate of merger and acquisitions in the games industry. In an interview with games industry is being dynamical Europe COO are not Muller, said the company has been working hard behind the scenes to insulate itself from the impact of industry consolidation. But that smaller publishers are having a harder time doing so. Quote, what I find is that we have to secure the IPs that we create with the studios we partner with, he said. Quote, when we invest in IP creation, when we invest in marketing for these IPs, we also have to keep in mind that we have to get some sort of security towards the future of the studio that develops this IP. If the IP doesn't belong to us. So this is something that we work on. You know, the spread of acquisition that we're seeing is affecting some of the smaller publishers and their capacity to access the best studios in the world. But we at B and D namco have the financial means to secure these partnerships. We work on a number of measures to secure those partnerships. You're talking first option rights. You're talking IP ownership. You're talking minority stakes in those studios, Mueller said. Quote, so there are ways to secure those relationships. End quote. Merger and acquisitions, activity in the games industry hit a record $85 billion in 2021 and is expected to comfortably surpass that total this year. And this is one that it's not necessarily a new story, but it's one that I think is fascinating just from the idea of we talk about a lot when it comes to acquisitions, right? Xbox buying Activision and PlayStation getting punchy, all this stuff. We don't really talk about it from the perspective of the other third party publishers and how that affects them, right? Especially when you think of bay and amco, who published elder ring this year. Elden ring being one of the fastest selling games ever, right? I'm sure beta namco right now in the space where everybody's getting acquired, they're like, oh, from software is important. We can't let them get acquired. What can we do to make sure that we're able to keep elden ring going and we're able to milk that or not milk, but continue to profit off of the IP because now it's very important to us. Yeah, man. It's interesting. This is another side to it. And again, we're going to keep seeing a lot more of this in the future. I think especially in the coming years, as there are people scrambling to financially figure out their situations. But yeah, namco bandai namco has always been interesting in the way that they make video games where specifically the namco side, right? They've been there since essentially at the beginning, right? With PacMan and all that stuff back in the arcades. And seeing them grow into what they are now with the bandai corporation seeing the names kind of flip where it used to be namco bandai now it's been dynamical. That really shows how much IP has always meant a lot to them, right? With a bandai side, all of the anime crossovers they do are not crossovers, but enemy games and stuff that they publish. It's like they know that at some point the bandai name was more important than the namco name, right? And I think that that kind of is really indicative of even this story as well of how they view the games that they partner the devs of the partner with the games that they make and where their value is in the games industry. So it's interesting because remember, keep in mind, then I namco helped make Super Smash brothers for the Wii U. Like, what? That's such a weird thing. Better than if it was unique as hell in the industry. Yeah, 1000%. Now Tim, we got a story 3.5. And was it you that added this to the Doc? It is me that out of this, the Doc Charles, Jacobson, in the chat, said that there was a new Pokémon masters trailer that is hype as hell that we need to watch. So I like skim through it for a second. And within 15 seconds, I was like, I need to show bless this. Okay. So if you could please bring up this Pokémon masters trailer. The entire thing is a minute, I don't know that we'll even watch it all, but we need to at least watch the beginning. If you guys don't know Pokémon masters, there's a mobile game that essentially dumbs down the actual core Pokémon battle system into just you fighting against a bunch of legends from the Pokémon universe. But here we go. Now, is this just the longer version of what we saw? Okay. So here's the end of gold and silver. Yeah. It's your trainer running up to red, but it's the surprise reveal. It's not the traitor from gold and silver. Red turns around. It's a Pikachu. Oh, it's red Pikachu. It's another Pikachu. Oh my God. Oh my God. Let's go. They get it. The multiverse of Pokémon. That's gotta stick, right? That's sick as hell. That's super hype. Ash

"Probably like it's not bad in any way, right? It's probably like doing a bunch of things pretty good and some stuff it's really good, right? Is that kind of how you would describe it? Yeah, it's super simple. It's like very, it's pedestrian, right? Like you are just kind of like getting through this interactive thing. Right. So I think I could understand the want for maybe something more on that end of it. Yeah. I hear there's a Garfield mod. Yes. Is that just something more you've been looking for? I haven't played it yet. I'm looking forward to it, I just have not gotten around to it. I've been watching over my semi husband's shoulder. He's been playing a lot of triangle strategy and live live. So I'm getting a little osmosis of that. 'cause he's way into that. You're way into it? I'm way too into it. Two games this week have pulled me away from live alive, live alive, live laugh love. One of those games being the complete opposite of stray, like it's not because there's cute animals in it. Did you monster? Dog's life is the opposite astray. Jessica. Digimon survive is not respectful of my time at all. $60 understand it's like not very well positioned by the publisher of what it is even is that you're getting into, Jan, here's what I've heard. It is mostly visual novel and then occasionally you do some tactic stuff. Is that right? Yes, yes. This has been on my radar ever since it got announced. You know, we all know that I'm a big fan of Pokémon. I'm equally as big of a fan of Digimon because I was born in the 90s. I'm obligated to. Yep. When I heard that there was going to be a Digimon tactics game, I was like, holy smokes, sign me the F up. It eventually got delayed, and that was eventually out, but you wouldn't know that it's out because the way that bandai namco is positioned it. Like you said, grub is almost zero marketing. Chronicles three came out and got a huge review scores and stuff like that. Yeah, it's getting buried because on top of that, like you couldn't even find this on the eShop or on steam until it was on actual release day. They didn't even have like pre orders up and stuff. No pre orders even and I feel like that's just like a no brainer just to get that stuff loaded up. And it is very, very heavy on the visual novel aspect. The portraits that they have are really well drawn. They're animated in some aspects, but if you're looking to, I don't know, have a chill visual novel experience, all of the voice acting isn't Japanese, so you gotta know that off the top off the top. Everything's translated. But even then the translations are just like all over the place in terms of really totally what is going on. And it's a real big bummer. And for me personally, I know there's a whole subs versus dubs argument with anime, but I grew up watching the American voice acting with Digimon. So I was and one of the appeals of Digimon versus Pokémon is that these monsters, your companions, they talk to you. And I guess I just kind of wanted to chase that feeling and everything. This the story here is you are a kid with goggles because to be a protagonist at Digimon, you have to wear garlic. I get that. And you and your friends are at a summer camp. You get transported to an alternate reality where there's Digimon, and there's like an ongoing mystery, and the tactics aspect of it is fine. It's okay. It's very run of the mill. It's probably the weakest tiles of this year, and there's been a lot of tiles this year. Wow, that sounds like a game. Your category right there. Keep in mind. It's just so it's just so flabbergasting how this is like, this could have been a fantastic JRPG because this month alone has been a fantastic month for JRPGs with live alive. In xenoblade chronicles three, that this just really poops the bed. Where I was yesterday, it was probably two, three hours in and had only been in combat three times. That's a lot of talky. Yeah. And like a visual novel, there's branching, not necessarily branching paths, but like your dialog options will influence outcomes, but it's never quite clear what it is influencing. It'll say like, oh, morality change and we're like relationship grew deeper, but it's like, where is any of this going to factor in later? It just feels like there's a lot missing for 60 bucks. I mean, I think the way you started it is what it sounds like. It sounds like it's not respectful of your time. It sounds like it's a lot of wasting your time. And I mean, I don't want to kick you off of Digimon survivor before you're done with it, but maybe you can tie these into each other. What I'm hearing about xenoblade chronicles three, and the reason I might be trans anamorphic by chronicles three, where I have not tried the previous ones, is one of the first things I've been hearing about this game is it gets right into it. It gets going within 15 minutes you're in a battle and you're playing the game. Is that true? Is that really what's happening? Was he able to play chronicles three? Okay, I might drop my 60 and try this out. You've been playing that too? Yes, yes. That was the other game. Your frame rate sometimes you gotta turn vsync off and it'll save it. If I'm gonna drop a 60, so I talk with doctor sunshine out back behind the 7 11. I'm gonna drop a 60 on that.

"Is this a fighting game? Yes. Yeah, we did it. We got there. There's nothing else that could possibly be this, right? There was jump superstars. I don't know, that might have been a DS game, and I don't know that Nintendo published it, but that was namco developed. We should narrow it down one more time. How about was there a game, did this game have an equivalent on the Wii U? Yes. Okay. There we go. What was the three DS one? Four three DS. That is it. It is super smoky. I was like, I don't even know if that game's called. Thank you very much for the hint. Yeah. We were going down a bad path there. I thought this was interesting, it's interesting. Developed by bandai namco and limited. And do you know what's sore limit it is? Yeah, that's sacrifice. But it's just him and his wife. So it's just wait for him to freelance. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, because he director for Nintendo. Yep. Yeah, he absolutely does not work for Nintendo or Hal. He's 100% just freelancing. He is overworked, and I very much sympathize with him. He has got to be making bank because situation that he has set up for me. The arrangement platform. I'm very happy for him if that's the case. I can't think of another developer that has that arrangement where they're like the director of the game, but they have a freelance company that's just themselves. What's up there like a weird thing that the creator of eco and shadow of the colossus when he went to go on and make, what was the third one? Some people left the last guardian. Last guardian. The last guardian. I feel like he sort of made a sort of company in that same vein. It might have been more of a developer, though. It might have been less of sort of a shell corporation type deal. But yeah, I feel like he broke away from the original company to start a new company to keep working on that game. Smash smash is developed by bandai namco, like the last two or three smash games like it's a very sort of unusual arrangement. I want to point out, I've always thought it was clever as shit that smash that smash for three DS and Wii U was the fourth smash game. And it was Super Smash brothers for three DS. Super Smash brothers

"I have some other examples of Japanese developers making a play for western audiences. And then sort of coming back around to the roots. Capcom in the mid 2000s was experimenting with such failures as dark void, bionic commando, the 3D one Resident Evil 6, although I think it's the best one of the bestselling resident evils for them. But not a beloved game by the fan base. But then came their biggest hit ever monster hunter world, traditionally before that there wasn't a more Japanese series than monster hunter. And then they've had huge success with Resident Evil 7 and village and the remakes of Resident Evil two and three. They've come back around to their Japanese roots, and audio is experimenting with crazy stuff like never dead. Remember, it's never dead. Castlevania lords of shadow one and two, they tried to do The Rock band thing with rock revolution and they made it outsource 5 Silent Hill games to western studios. Recently they found the success just rereleasing their old Japanese games and compilations like the Castlevania advance collection. Very old games. They're old old kids. Sega acquired creative assembly in 2005. That's the total war studio. I believe. Remember, golden axe beast rider. That was developed by a studio in San Francisco. We also bought two point developer of two point hospital. But somewhere along the line that court Atlas, that got them the persona series, they had a huge hit with persona 5, super, super duper Japanese, and now Yakuza, a very successful series worldwide. And then namco, namco bandai, before they had from soft and before they had the soulsborne success story, they had enslaved good game, not huge success. They had splatterhouse, the 2009 remake. They outsourced a ridge race, a whole ridge racer game to a western studio. So that's why I believe we've come back around. That's the end of the chapter of Japanese studios, not having confidence that people around the world want to play super duper Japanese games. This is the title of a book history repeats itself, the video game edition. Yeah, good cabbie. Sure. Ouch. Anyway, I hope this means good things for the future of Tomb Raider and there's no new deus ex game announced at this time. There's certainly no new legacy of Kane game announced that serious has been dormant for two decades now. But hopefully hopefully the new era of crystal dynamics at eidos underneath embracer is a bountiful one. Let's.

"Like, that's just, oh man, it's amazing that someone wrote that all down. Yeah, they're finally shifting gears and they're going to finally focus on fun. Yeah. It's about time that namco did something that was fun. Enough with these games where you just like walk out and then a guy murders you. Let's have a good time for a change. The gundam metaverse project, moving closer to side G, this is a whole separate section. The first launch for the completion of side G will be the gunpla colony, where various gun flow related experiences will be made available within the virtual world. Test runs were held in 2021 for the project. The gundam based virtual world, where people can converge from around the world to enjoy the virtual gunplay entertainment space. These are all words, but do they mean things put together? Is the question? Is there a virtual gun play building club? The gunplay will bring entertainment to the virtual space by merging digital and physical worlds with gun club battle where fans can scan their gunplay to face others in battle hosting a gun play contest events and providing gun play lessons online. This is spaceship spaceship for people that don't know gunplay is an insane word. And it means it means statues. It means it means models. You bought some gun to models. The model put them together and they're super cool. And it is a fun word to say. I think they've been back there. This sounds like they've been hacked. This is whatever company hacked Nvidia is sending this stuff out to. The next section is eSports colony. Stay away from us. Don't call us. I do not want.

"It sits behind The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim. For comparison, pubg battlegrounds is holding strong onto the number one spot with an all time peak of 3.2 million players. In a distance distant second sits counter strike global offensive with 1.3 million players, Tim, does this surprise you? Dynamite killing it. I mean, yo, it's kind of video games nowadays, right? Like there's more gamers out there than ever, there's more ways to play these games. I think that PC gaming is definitely adopted by more people than ever. So I'm not that surprised. I feel like every time he comes to release now, there's going to be records broken because there's just more people interested in these type of games. And again, daylight one came out and had that amazing moment where like redefined what a January February time frame can look like for games. And here we are with daylight two, 7 years, whatever later. And I think kind of just ironically hit it the right time, like right before this rush of all the February games coming out. And I think that we could not have called this. Dying light two became one of those overexposed games in terms of preview coverage and its development and everything and the pandemic certainly didn't help with all that. But hey, good for them, man. Yeah, dilates for sure onto something. It being in the top 25 of all time in terms of concurrence on steam is really impressive. It's even more. It's mind-blowing to me when it's above like halo infinite and multiplayer games that you would expect have that staying power in that top 25. Dialect to you as an open world triple-A third party zombie game strikes me as a wild one for that, but also I think that probably speaks to how they treated that IP over the last however many years with dying light one coming out. And then them sustaining that game with update after update after update, adding in a multiplayer mode, adding in all these different things to dynamite one. And probably having a very sticky fan base because they've not let that fan base go over the years. And so when you release a big new title, it has that it feels like not just a second sequel. It doesn't feel like a second game of the franchise. It feels like another entry into a long story franchise because they've kind of been treating it that way, even though it has two in the title. You know what I mean? It has that same car, which is really impressive and I would not have called this, but you will get them downline too. Video games are cool. This year's about to be absolutely wild. Plus, I can't wait to wear in December looking back like what's this year gonna look like? Like what is the game of the year conversation gonna be? 'cause it's just gonna be great, man. It's so much quality. Hopefully starfield comes out November because I really want to play that game. Tim, let's hop in a story number 6. Bandai namco is developing its own game engine. This is from Theodore nicotine at 80 level, which is what I've not heard of, but Greg put it in here so I trust him. Bandai namco entertainment, a Japanese video game publisher has revealed that it has been working on its own game engine for at least three years. During an interview with automation media, bandai namco's caci suke hori uchi has confirmed that the company is developing a new engine to limit the reliance on third party technology, like unity, and Unreal Engine. The company, however, will continue to use them, but only alongside its own engine, and only when it's completely necessary. The development of band dynamical in-house engine is being led by Julian Mercer in, who has previously worked on Konami's Fox engine as well as various other game engines. The development team consists of 50 people, the interview also mentions that there are no titles currently in development for the companies upcoming engine. Quote, the reason for in-house production is that we want to continue to have the technological capabilities to create a solid foundation by ourselves, rather than leaving the base to game engines made by other companies, said katsy suke horiuchi. Cool. This is very interesting one that we'll have to wait and see what this turns into. But it being worked on by folks who were involved with Fox engine at the very least is exciting because Fox engine is off the chain. We did not see enough games coming out of that. Really didn't, man. Fox engine and re engine are just two things that are so near and dear to my heart. Well, I just love them. I love them so much. And I just want to see more. But I don't know that we're ever going to get another Fox engine game. Plus man, it sucks, right? Million solid 5. I remember 2015. It was fall. Smell yourself if I just came out. And I was playing in my bedroom, when I was having a great time. And I remember one cut scene where it was snake he was hopping out of the helicopter as we do in that game. You know, so many times you do. He was hopping into the base. And it just clicked for me. I was like, this might be one of the best looking games I've ever seen in my life. Dude, I often think back to even ground zeros. When it first came out, and I'm watching this shit. And I'm like, how is the camera moving this way? It is so cinematic. It looks so fucking good. And you look back at it now and it's still looks good. So many years later, and the most shocking thing about it is that game wasn't just on what was at the time the next gen current Jan of PS4. It was also on PS3 and 360. And it looked amazing. That engine is magic, man. I mean, could you imagine that engine on the PS5? What those games would look like how those games would run? No. Give it to me. One day, I mean, hey, maybe this band I named go engine might be somewhat comparable. Probably won't be. But I can hope I can dream. Let's round out the report report is story number 7. It looks like The Batman Arkham games could be coming to switch. This is Jordan Midler at video games chronicle and as a reminder, Jordan Midler will be making appearance on KPD on Wednesday, hosting with me to look forward to that. Batman arkan collection has been listed for release on Nintendo Switch by a French retail site. According to, according to French retailer, WTT, which I'm just going to say stands for watch the throne. I don't know that to be true. Hell yeah. I'm just gonna go with it. The game will cost 59.99 in Euros and currently holds a placeholder release date of August 31st, 2022. Watch the throne previously listed the switch port of The Witcher three wild hunt. Before it's announcement, potentially lending legitimacy to The Batman listing. Arkham collection was released for other PC or other consoles and PC in 2018 and includes rock studies three Arkham games Arkham Asylum, Arkham City,.

"I'm gonna say hey bro, I'm gonna say it and you know some people might not like it 'cause you know because it's the only company that has the major anime titles, but I think they've been on namco. I think they lost it but I think they need to ultimately just lose all of these licenses that they have. When they have four moment, they had a moment because it was the only thing that they still would storm it. They haven't made a good anime games in storm. But they still don't care. Like the hardcore anime people you know they're still playing old games. Yeah, they're gonna play regard though. They get literally anime communities fall. But no, it's the Internet. Needs to lose and they need to live my hero they need to lose dragon balls and they need to lose every single insomnia made that they have, bro yeah. Yeah, like what you mentioned eat those are said something to fucking amazing job with Dragon Ball Z. Amazing job. So I think that we need to give, you know, we need to give some of these other companies some of these anime franchises. And I think that they can do a much better job and make it something that's truly unique and just a copy and paste. Oh, I'm just going to add a BR mold to rudo style fighting game, but it's my hero. This is nothing unique here. So the enemy people are going to play it. I may try it out, but when I looked at MIT, hell no. Let arc systems make a bleach fighting game, please. Thank you. That's my problem. I'd rather have an order to one, but. Oh, fuck that shit. You got enough Naruto games. This bleach is time. Reaches back baby. This man gets one trailer and loses his damn mine. You don't understand. Decade, we waited a decade. We don't understand. You have no clue, but we all cried when we saw that trailer. But we're not going to slide past what JJ basically said to some of what everything did he just basically said was bandai namco is not capable of making good games. Is that right? Hey, basically. Yeah, basically. Wait wait, didn't make tells him a rise? That was great. Who made that? Fan dies, a band I published. Publishing and making it a two different thing. It tells. Well, Ben doesn't make games. I thought they were just a publisher, right? They make tech. They don't publish so they don't put up. No band I developed it. No, then I developed it. All right, we'll go and tell them. They have outside of the anime universe. I'm talking about the Internet games. I'm looking right now. All right, let's rephrase that. JG said bandai namco is not capable of making a good anime game. Because hold up because you know eldering is being posted by the episode. We're not gonna talk about that. No, they're not developing it yet. They're not developing that. Don't give them that credit. The publishing, though, their publishers. Okay, okay, to be fair to them. To be fair to them, to be fair, they did develop tekken 7. I did not know that. They developed it. Yeah, I said seconds. It applies what he said. We're talking about animating. They developed scarlet nexus. Second is an anime though. Seconds anime. The reason why it's the reason..

"Starring deku in the gang from UA high, it'll be available on switch PS4 Xbox One and PC. They're currently gonna be doing a closed beta test pretty soon. Did you guys get a chance to take a look at this trailer? Yeah, I did. To me, it looks kind of like, what's that shit? The new game from epic, the wrestling BR game. Rumble verse. Yeah, I'm like, why would I want to play this over that, especially because this is only 24 man and then it's coming to PS4 and Xbox One. You already know what's running on an old ass engine. Yeah. This looks exactly like the same animated fight. It did look like the my hero animated they brought out just with the BR element. I don't see anything unique or special about this. So I was like, well, I don't know how about the why are you trying to go into the BR space? This is like the Dragon Ball Z game that they I don't know if it came out yet, but then when they were trying to it looked like a BR game too. I don't understand what band aid is doing here. I just think they just ran out of ideas and they're just trying to recycle the anime franchises that they do have until they end up losing license or whatever, whenever the contract expires. So this is what they're doing here. I don't see this, you know, gaining anything. It's going to come and go. Let me put my tinfoil hat on for this one as well. What if bandai namco is pissed that scarlet nexus is not doing well. It's not getting a lot of press. I mean, the people who played it seemed to love it, but it's not getting the press in the sales that it needs. And they're looking at it like, well, we tried. We tried to make an original game with an original story, original art, voice acting. And you motherfuckers didn't buy it. So you know what? We're going to reuse those Naruto ultimate ninja storm assets again, baby to make a fucking my hero VR because they're saying you're not supporting the one game that wasn't a 6 out of ten that they made. How does that make you feel either? This thing looks like a whole lot of mid, bro, I'm not interested in this at all, man. Not at all. As soon as I saw PS4 Xbox One, I'm like nah. Yeah, no, this is definitely one of those things that were like, let's target the audiences that the popular genres and then slap like anime. You know, like an anime skin on top of it so that, you know, it'll grab the weeds, they'll wanna play it because you know it has deku in shit, so nah, this is a no good for me. I'd rather have quality anime projects like the stuff that arc systems does, like, with Dragon Ball Z fighters, like stuff like that. I'd rather have devs. You know what blows my mind is that we've gone like that anime games out for so long and the farthest people think about it is like we have to make our game like Naruto storm or we have to make our game like those open world like fighter type. Those are the only two arena fighting games. It doesn't only like two genres that fit with ant man. They have not tried to mix it up and try like completely different things. Why have we not gotten any single player RPG style games with anime? Why have we not got any of those?.

"Let's see what they have bright before the media. It was before that fear really. What's the other one game mcconnell. Faulk i know you're thinking of i have a sweater from it. That was them right. Like a whole. I'm not looking. It's the blair witch one we. Yeah what do they call the. Which one blair witch or something rich. Okay i think it was just Yes so i played a little bit of that. And when i say a little bit like i mean that's I think it looked bad. Like played bad. I was like this is not good. And that's it. That was my history with it. There's a first letter in my apartment from someone that had it. So that's it. That's my history. That's where a lot and i played the medium and i beat the medium. The medium was interesting. You know a lot of people say in what you've played layers of fear correct. Would you say that the medium is their project. Because i've heard that but we might be able to speak to that more me. Wait in a little bit to what you're saying right. Where bluebird team makes these horror games. And i don't think they've ever made the shining. i don't think they've ever made hereditary. You know what i'm talking about horror movies obviously. I think that they make a lot of all right. This is an interesting slash fund. Hor game for a bit like. I don't think they've ever come in and done like the here. We go motherfucker. This is the game i mean. You're better than layer of fear. i. I like okay now. I feel like i don't need to play layers. Appear if the medium is better and for the record my medium stance is. I guess critically i would have to lean on it being bad or mediocre like that's my stance on it but i had a lot of really interesting ideas. I was intrigued by like where the story would go like. I finished it you now. i didn't have to. I liked the dual reality thing. But ultimately i yes i just feel like it it. It's on a game. I really recommend people check out like that's that's my end all be all and i definitely don't think it's like worse than or would you say you said it's better than village that's not true. That's the pentagon tweet version of this argument. So don't come at me. The argument is that the medium right now on a metacritic right as a seventy one. Xbox a seventy five on pc. I would say that is correct. I'm not telling you. The medium is ten out of ten. I'm saying that i think so. Little of rosie will village low. That i do think that part is key. I disagree with that though as well that being said i'm like weirdly like down for s because like the medium me and the medium such weird relationship where it was the first games i played this year and then i was like man like that like first of all. This is cool then. I was asked how that good and then. And we're almost done with it and then we'll come and then finished it and then i was like oh man that like winter weird places but like everyone in my community was intrigued by like it had a weird hold on me. I don't know. I have these like mess up relationships these four games because i feel the same way about the frigging dr pictures and we're like none of those are hitting that hard but i'll be there day one baby. Let's go like like so. I feel like that about this. I'm like you know what i do. Think again the medium has some good ideas. i think they're going to. I think they can make a good game. I don't think they've done that yet. But i think they can select the idea that they're working on more stuff. I'm like you know what trump i'm gonna be back. I'm gonna be there until the wheels fall in so that's the degree of mike for it. Exactly that's that's exactly the thing because you are true halloween lover. You love hor games. Were all about sure you love be torture. Yes number seven on the rope report and final. This is super simple. I'm not even gonna bother really reading it. Banned dynamic co is getting a new logo kevin. I put it in there if you want to click and open it up. It's happening in like april twenty twenty two. They're making the switch over there. You see if you're a visual person. The old band namco one going into this word bubble. It's a pink word bubble and inside an abandoned namco. Good for them. We see press announcements these sorts of things when they switched their name. Yeah when they went from nam. Nam nam cobaine dynamic. Oh that that will forever fuck me up. Stick with a new logo. Like i hope they decide to be like not never mind because sometimes that happens with like redesigns very like oh this yeah i. Everyone hates everything when it first comes out like whenever there's changes like those are apt designs like everyone always hates. Everyone always hates it. So i don't think everyone hating it that it's going to be hated forever. But i'm not a fan of it. Just it just feel like less retro e but like and then the tagline was like. Oh the future the future with people like i like. Oh it's just a message on your phone. But yeah i just feel really have much personality to at so i don't know maybe they'll have some cool alternates or something but we'll see what we will see and i hope we get more alternatives. I hope maybe they stick with the maybe they take the new one. I don't really care that much. But what i do care about. Is that that change or staying or april twenty twenty two so far away if i want something more immediate say what came to the mom and grab shops today. Where would i go. "So that's a bad one to like pick on yet but like a lot of unlike you play the game like immediately zena blatant you play me just like holy lord like half these guys doing. It's not to that level with these characters. None of them are like a little muppet. Fucking has a squeaky voice. That is just incessantly annoying But they're just not compelling at all like the. I don't care i guess i don't care and that's the thing that i ran into with fire. Emblem where i was like. It's great that all of this is here. And i applaud you for coming up with a unique system to kind of build this around but at the end of the day. If the conversation. I'm going to have with this character doesn't interest me and is not important that i don't give a fuck like bring you gotta really firing on all cylinders to make that kind of dynamic work and i don't think that they did it with this game but again like are you gonna go on youtube. Shut a now okay. All right here. it's just a clean break. It's sometimes sometimes you just gotta why done it's gotta be over with. I'm really disappointed as you know. I was pretty excited about this going into. I heard really good things. I thought that It had a lot of potential and it's not a bad game before it's certain people. I'm sure they are going to love this fucking thing and and and oh have they'll be like this is so good But they just fumbled execution in my opinion and This game sold really well. I've read that they. They exceeded expectations for band-aid namco and So it can't be a huge the expectations to be on the low end. Oh yes for sure. But i think that it's possible that we might see a sequel to this fucking thing based on the way that it sold. And if they put out a sequel raid. I guess but yeah not did not did not fuck and enjoy it at all. So here's hoping the next Big rpg from band namco comes out in september. And that's the new tales game and Has been in the oven for awhile. So hopefully that's better all right. They're usually good so long as nobody is I don't know we play like civilization drunk. I think we can wrap it up. Yeah i did. I i My toes in the water if the stiff And not drunk yeah. I was drunk when i played it out. Drunk pretty drunk. I actually watched The ufc the most recent ufc fight the brick connor break says lay that one and Was like doing that and drinking and then was like i don't wanna i don't really care about any of these other fights so i'm just gonna play a game while i drink and wait for the one that i care about and so I played sieve. Like pretty tipsy. Because i was i was drunk and i play. What a weird choice choice. But like you know going back to our question podcast where you were like if there a game that you know. I had time to invest in and get into. It'd be sick. And so i. I really was interested in and i had picked up all the elsia longtime ago. So help me out a lot. I don't know. But like i spent like some money on this button game that had never played and literally everyone that police that that gets into. It's like it's so fucking fun. Yeah so good. It's the best digital board game. So i was just like our. Al fucking check it out and I don't really know what to say about you. Hold so so you jumped in..

Do anytime to all the new out there who don't know me. Why don't you run them down. A little intro. uso so Been red pez. Wanna say two thousand fifteen twenty. Sixteen started making music. When i was thirteen. Beg nose among parents house moved out of my house about ago october. None tober in like september on a say in just been making music since took a break in between. But you know we're back us we thank you for that intro. Bill of course is is my levels. Good are they good. Can y'all hear me right. Yeah a have you all the way up to her though and might be little if quieter was at one hundred. Okay okay Let me that is that better gas. Perfect that's perfect. That's okay now. I don't know how to. I don't know how to start this to be fully honest. This was just sprung on me like a couple minutes ago. Yeah well i was telling musically look. I'm an open book any questions that you might have about anything. Do you personal music. whatever. I'm i'm happy to answer. So when are you can think of anything didn't care that's cool all right so this kind of like a little progress but also the first time ever got to do something like this. So let's start at the beginning. Says the be kind of a refresher to everybody is in case. People don't know so last time for those. So how they journey with music star for you knew started for me I moved to the us. When i was in the fourth grade i moved from mexico the quantum mexico and moved up knowing no english and so i was just listening to mexican music. Then may my moves out to listening to like you know preppy You know music those popping back in the day like fucking young life that the whole track. Yeah i like bangers in my head right and then I moved onto him and namco. There's this girl in my class that used to ride eminem like crazy and You know stuck in a minimum for awhile. Started listening to each of his old stuff and new and i realized i wanted to do a little bit of rap in the tunnel was already in lake relief. Seventh eighth grade when my english. Was you know a lot better. I actually decided to start making stuff from my computer. I would play a computer. Outplay beat them. A computer now plays so loud that the microphone on my computer will catch the sound and then our on top of that would also wrap allowed. Just this terrible quality of music just like a practice you know flying and whatnot and Yeah eventually eventually My wrestling coach So i had a passion for it. He bought me a microphone. Which is embassy. Microphone that. I'm using right now in avenues since my sophomore year till now on the little graduated in. Hopefully pretty soon here. Upgrading the microphone. This'll hasn't sentimental value to it. Definitely that often. That's an interesting backstory. Now in speak from experience of starting off like on my own and then having people notice my passion but that's a a lot later thing is how long have you been doing it from the start till now. How many years has been honestly It has started in like eighth grade. So that's by five years now. Five six years five six years. I've been wrapping all in all not even just like taking it seriously. I started rapping three years ago and only very recently like within the past year are is anyone starting to notice like putting my family. They're starting to notice that i Like making music and i started off with With a chromebook if you don't you probably know what a chromebook is no. Yeah did i definitely get you the with looking like computer computer. You can download music making. That's how i was too. So i feel that that's exactly what it used to. He used to be a noble. That's what the brand of the computer was time. Jack cut out in. yeah. I think all right. Let's let's move box. I don't want to have any expenses while fixing what's going on Was pointing us. This use this terrible music software soundtrack. It have really hard. I just said nami. Have you heard twenty one pence if you have that's basically Style that i used to having back. I think i've heard of the dude honestly I knew who morris a writer than anything. And i think i've heard me one thing and then i have not revisited for obvious reasons but you know so you know what i'm talking about. Yes definitely so. I was doing that routine like making my own. Beats and rafting over them for like a whole year until i stopped recording and i started writing rep had and i think the specific day. I started writing rod since i proposed to the same day. I joined May twenty fifth twenty. Nineteen when i joined rapid.

Sony Looks to Have Even More Exclusives For PS5

"You may not have expected this episode this week and frankly neither did we but nonetheless We're back earlier than we had intended from our hiatus because there's just so much darn playstation and gaming news to talk about as the fall season kicks in, and of course, none of it is the PSI release date or price, but we'll get there eventually anyway this week I'm joined by Max Scoville who do. Janet. Garcia. What's up? And are good pal crash bandicoot. Thanks for being. There he is. Of course, we'll get a lot of insightful commentary. He's going to leak level of crash bandicoot for it's about time I'm very much looking forward to it. If you if you look into his eyes to the whole episode, you'll be able to find out every level. No. I do on a preface. My saying of course games come just ended. So of course, a little bit of the team is to the winds Brian is unfortunately out this week Lucy had a doctor's appointment and can do with us. But we have plenty of stuff to talk about this week and thank you to Max and Jennifer taking the time this week to jump into talk about all the playstation and just gaming news ahead of the busy fall, which is technically already started, and we'll get to that in a little bit but I did WanNa sort of start things off with a general playstation topic that came out again I feel like. We're getting all of our playstation news these days from a corporate reports and store listings and just things that come out of nowhere. But are not officials Sony presentations. To fans but this one Sony put out a corporate report for the company at large and there a couple of key things that I wanted to mention on the playstation side of it the the main takeaways from it were one that they're looking to put more games on. PC which we can get to in a bit of a to the other the the big hand in hand thing was that one they want to be releasing a steadier stream of first party games more quickly and two. They are still looking to acquire more studios even though they acquired insomniac in twenty nineteen and INSOMNIAC is going to be delivering to launch window PS five games They are still looking for new studios to acquire us. So I wanted to ask the both of you like what you've enjoyed of Sony's first party output this generation aside, what what did you think of I guess the volume of games there are putting out I felt like there's been a pretty steady supply of playstation -clusive especially big ones. You know like just this year we had dreams the show last part to go Suma. and. Then like third party exclusives like a Predator and the are it's not like it's been quiet for them. Do you feel like they need to increase the amount of games that are being put out on the exclusive side? I would love to see more from like the. Like front of things and I I, do like that. There aren't the less Bjork's loses are the better it is for Vr general because then just like more of those games can be played in disgust but I just really want to see a playstation support Vr even more going for in the Nexgen so I would love to see extra stuff on that front. But other than that. I think they always do a really good job at having a really nice spread of games across genres. It's sort of hard to find to not be able to find a game to play on playstation. No matter what kind of you are and what you gravitate towards and that's something that I really think is a strange and the more they continue acquisitions the more they can expand deep crush on Ras. Max. What about you? Yeah. I mean. I guess I'm pretty happy right now because we don't really know a whole lot of what's coming. We've got a a few piece look forward to in a few new games, but I'm like I'm. I feel like we had there was a pretty good cadence there for a minute and a as long as we're not sort of reaching that point, where was it like three, twenty, eighteen where it just they just unveiled everything and That was that was like. We just got ghost of Sushi mouth like that was. revealed them. It's like. That was Paris Games week 2017. But yeah, they basically revealed every game for the PS four between twenty sixteen in two, thousand seventeen, and then all of those games took from two thousand seventeen to twenty twenty to come out. Like I feel like it's it's less that I assume that there's a bunch of stuff happening behind the scenes that we don't know about I think it's more. I would I would be happier with like a more even canes releases regardless of how often first party games actually come out you know what I mean. Yeah for sure there was definitely I feel like it's definitely this generation in particular have been a lot of, hey this game has this release date in the fall actually coming out in the spring, and then maybe it's coming out even a little later the year after like there were definitely a lot of games that had release dates and I think that's something that Sony's aware of they don't Wanna be announcing release dates anymore unless they're pretty sure they're going to be hitting that release date because. Untreated for in particular I think three or four release dates, and so it's the kind of thing where they probably don't want to have to keep figuring out the marketing budget for when a new release date is going to be unlike tenant which has had seventeen released its since everything happened this year. but I, I was curious what you thought of like in terms of other companies they should acquire because Sony is in a this interesting place of their Sony First Party stable is really well respected. Sort of across the board and for the most part make somewhat similar games when it comes to genre and perspective and all that. Obviously, there are exceptions when it comes to the show and GRANDPA'S MON whatnot. But in terms of the Sony Signature has become third person action adventure semi open world. Games different mechanics in different whatnot but that's what they're known for. Would you want to see them be branching out more I? Remember, when Chun, laden was of course does with Sony he had talked about one of the things he knew they were great out was multiplayer support for exclusive games and he thought that was something they could improve on but I guess, Janet. Starting with like what are what do you think they're missing in their exclusive sleet? You mentioned the of course but like what companies would you like them to maybe acquire if those companies are Interested. Yeah. So I mean they have a lot of the heavy hitters, which is great problem to have because a lot of the things that we would always come to mind they actually did so yeah, that's awesome. A one studio that comes to mind for me would be supermassive games which I know is kind of unlikely considering they just gotTa deal with Namco to do the dark pictures and theology, but I love story driven. Experiences and Sony's known for doing that. But through the lens of adventure while supermassive libraries a lot more or choices narrative driven I think it's really cool. They have that VR background. So like I said earlier that could help with that PS VR library as well. So that would be my main

EVO 2020 was cancelled

"Yvo Twenty twenty has been canceled due to various sexual abuse allegations. Yvo Is the biggest annual fighting game tournament in the world, and even with the covid nineteen issues plaguing everyone on the planet. The tournament was soldiering on with plans to make it fully online. Earlier this week, however that all fell apart, and in order to learn more about it, I called on Imran Khan to explain everything Imron. Come into the gaming ride home show again for having me Yvo was canceled. And I just want you to give me the full story. What happened? Why was it canceled? Everything start from the beginning, so ego is the biggest fighting tournament in America Kinda the biggest in the world. There's like some discussion about that at this point, but ego is basically where fighting games have been aspiring to for the last twenty thirty years and listening started in the ninety S. This year, obviously because of covid kit have their usual Mandalay Bay Las Vegas big gathering of fighting game players. So this year they ended up canceling I place. Eve Online Eve online was a different thing where the. Mainly, got games together with like Netco like mortal Kombat eleven and them fighting her indie game that was originally based on my little pony, but basically it was A. It has to evolve brand that could stay around despite not being the big mass gathering tournament that they expect over the last couple of weeks. There's been a bigger. industry-wide movement to out sexual predators in gaming and the gaming industry, and some companies have been hit harder than that are with that bubis off for example, but for the most part it's. It's not a huge thing within the FTC. Because the FTC's always kind of had a reputation of like. Being a bit more open with their sexual harassment and it's always like. It's never been to a level of. A mass critical mass. Joey quilter this past week yesterday in for yesterday in fact was outed by a player. Named He's just does mikey. He goes online and is after the tag is crack. Peron but George Taylor. Who is the head of the current? President Vivo who founded it with Tommy Tony Kanaan. was outed for experiences when he was. Close, to twenty, where they were southern golf land, which is an amusement park in l. a.. That mikey accused him of basically. Paying money to young kids to take their shirts. Germany polls mikey related experience where he said quarter. Paid him twenty dollars to see his genitals inside a restroom and bought him pornography so. It's IT'S A. It's a larger thing that when you look at it from the perspective of not a child who just thinks they're having fun. It's real creepy, but what is conditions came out. Other people's Front, also coming out of the woodwork, saying like more finding old chaser people were talking about doing these things, but not naming names, and now that it's out. The floodgates are broken out. Yvonne immediately went. No, WE'RE GONNA put on administrative leave and check this out, so I mentioned Tom. Tony Kennedy before their more famous like they are obviously co-founders of ego, but there are more famous right now for being developers of Product L. at riot games so. They had to step in for this and go okay. We're looking at this right now. We're investigating and seeing what happens. It did not take very long before nether realm. I believe the first one like say. Are Involved with ego involvement in that sense means we don't WanNA game there. We're not going to earn any money towards prize pools. We're not doing any advertising which is fairly big deal. Arguably moral combat was like the lead game for that tournament. Right for the online tournament. Yes, Merle come at usually has a hard time with like the in person tournament. Fighting community hasn't really take to that game too well, but as an online net code game like for example, smash brothers was canceled for Eve online because the net code. Isn't that good, so this is more time to shine. The actual like really arguably was streetfighter as it is every year. This year. Are Not meeting her, but a little bit. After another canceled COP CANCELED IN ONCE CAPCOM cancels gets away from ego. Then that's that's the ballgame lets. Everything goes away soon after main sex developers of them biting heard who this is their big chance to become A. Kind of a household name and if I didn't need community, they cancelled. Bay Namco canceled and ran into that ego are the canons came out with a message from as ego saying? Hey, we were cutting for joy color. He is not president anymore. In the future, he will have zero involvement with the organization this not he's going to not be on. He's going to be on the board, or he'll be the FCC or he'll still kind of tournaments. They're cutting it off completely. Shortly after that they also that announced, we can't under these circumstances and this change in organization also do evil online in a couple of weeks in August. A month or in August? I. Know that screws over a lot of people, but. It seems like honestly the best. Call right now of. You'RE GONNA have to go through with work. That joy has done or you're going to have to. Try It's from scratch. Cobble together in event that takes at least a year to actually set up and try to get together in a couple of weeks. Yeah, I mean they just they basically. Got Rid of the boss in the most public way, possible right I mean it's it's you can't just like recover from that in a matter of weeks. Really Yeah, it's. It is one of those things of a lot of this is. Probably high time for the funding community insert reckoning with a lot of these things, because it's an issue for a number of years, it was I. I don't know if you recall but a about eight years ago, there was a street fight across capcom across Tekken. Show online, and it ended up ending as a result of some sexual harassment claims, and those a big divide in the community about like whether sexual harassment was a just a part of the culture or not and. Stuff like this doesn't help that argument. No I mean I like you, said earlier I mean like. Feels like the right call to elevate it, and as disappointing as it is for Yvo to be cancelled like it's a big flag for like we need to address. This is if we're going to cancel this event because we need to look at ourselves internally and I think I. Mean Hope the hope is that they come out better on the other side. I mean it seems like this is one of those things where. I. Hesitate to say Covid kind of save them but. If. This were an actual in person things still at Mandalay Bay then they wouldn't be able to cancer that quickly an online tournament. Shuttered a lot more easily. The bigger question now is what happens next year.

Harassment Yvo Twenty Twenty YVO Mikey President Trump FTC Mandalay Bay Las Vegas Imran Khan Mandalay Bay America Joey Quilter Riot Games Netco Namco Germany Tony Kennedy Tommy Tony Kanaan. Yvonne
