"You can't do it. And I wonder. Can Matt Canada just save that and fix that in their offense? I know their receivers can get open. Claypool's good Deontay Johnson's good juju. Of course. I feel like he has to kind of reinvent himself here and prove he can do more. They've got a rookie tight end. Najee Harris like they have the weapons. What It sounds like Jeremy that you're sort of the question here is Is Matt Canada going to bring back vintage Big Ben, which is There's three defenders on him. He can't get taken down. He's still completes a pass. Like I don't know that that guy is here any longer. Yeah, Yeah, You're right. I mean, like Roethlisberger and Alan, you know, you see similarities in their game and how hard it is to bring them down. If you think back to young rob cheeseburger. He would throw guys aside the way that we've seen Alan do that. And, you know, in 15 years when Josh Allen loses the ability to do that doesn't mean he's going to be totally cooked. But losing. That means that you change things. You know you you have to have the ball come out quicker, so Sell with this with this defensive matchup. Let's talk about the secondary. You know, you said the defensive line against their offensive line, of course, Tray White. Michael Hi Jordan Player Return Corner, too, was an issue all offseason all training camp. What's going to happen with it? So when you look at the way, this this bills Defense lines up with its corners after Trey White How does it look to you? Now that the season that the off season the preseason we're here after Trey White House it? Look, I have more confidence in Levi Wallace over the long haul than I think most people do, but he can get beat. You know, here and there on a matchup. The teams will scheme they'll try and get. They're not going to throw out your devious whites way they'll match up their mouth Looks pretty good. Right? Maybe it's a guy they flipped out like Kosecki did against against Levi Wallace with the Miami Dolphins. Maybe that's something that they do. The only issue I have with With the secondary is maybe the depth that corner. I was actually expecting an elevation. Maybe this week. Kim Lewis. It didn't happen, right, Rashad Wild Goose. They have him. You know, those guys aren't ready. Maybe Wild Goose and Griffin, the two rookies. But they didn't elevate anybody. Guys. They go into this game with five corners. Five. Sketchy, right, So, so it's catchy. And I know that it looks Saran. Neil can play both inside and outside. They don't prefer him outside. And you know you have Micah Hyde and Jordan employer who are definitely guys who can move around a little bit. That's the only thing that kind of scares you a little bit is the depth the wrong injury. As Murph said with you guys in the morning show the wrong injury at the wrong time can really hurt you in that regard, But I will tell you this game plan wise. Think about what we just said. They don't know if they tried. We don't know if they trust Ben's arm. He wants to get rid of the ball. The offensive line. I know the bills do not like to play press coverage Wouldn't today be the day to get up on those receivers and say, Throw the ball soon we dare you to throw it quickly. I'd worry about Deonte Johnson there, but he had dropped last year. He had a little bit of what remarkable ones in the matchup against the Bills would be here. He had the story was, he drops the ball. And then after that was the story. He did continue to drop the ball. He is still I think very good. He gets open. There'd be a guy I think I'd be watching today. "To stop, right? Yeah, so, Yeah, but I'll tell you this, Dion, Here's the thing. Here's my money. I get you. Um, you'd like to have some bell cow Derrick Henry. Say Kwan Barkley, uh, make McCaffrey Guy back there that you can hand the ball to the bills are doing it with three different guys that got Brita Moss and Singletary and I think Singletary is going to be better this year than you've ever seen him be. I think he's in for a much better year. But there's no matter who it is. They're only going to hand it to them, so they don't wear their quarterback out just like you said, And I think that's what I was wondering, and all those guys said Josh can't throw that ball every week, right that, but all those guys are going to be better. Because the five guys ahead of him, We're going to have to play better, and that's why they drafted two of those guys on the 1st and 2nd Day they drafted to pass rushers. They drafted two offensive linemen, three offensive lineman overall. It all starts up front. Dion itty. It's not so much about single although it is a little bit, obviously about Singletary, Moss and and Brita. It's also about the five guys up front. And if those five guys up front are dominant A guy like Singletary, Moss and breeder are going to be exponentially better without even without changing the way they play, So I think that's the philosophy the bills use, and I and I agree with it. So I don't get too upset about what? What we haven't seen yet. Let's let it play out a little bit before we start making pronouncements about would have been should have been could have been and Jim threw the ball. It's on how long before he started getting backed off in practice to rest his arm on front? Yes. When he was on the other side of 30. Yeah, it was late in his career and Yeah, And he was like, and I saw this too, And this is just a side point. The one you know everybody's comparing this team and the expectations of what it was like when they were going to the Super Bowl. All those years. Um I will say this when we were watching practice during training camp, you go out there and watch for 20 minutes or watch a couple of periods of practice. And it was just like Jim and Frank Reich. With Josh and Mitch Drabinsky. Ball never touched the ground, and those guys were throwing it and it was not getting dropped and it wasn't incomplete. It was. It was something to see. So that's one way that it's kind of like that here if you want to look for comparisons, which I know everybody's kind of doing these days, but, um Yeah, it's And let's not Think about what should have been could have been with Najee Harris and the offensive line and he's running back. Sorry. Let's just let's let him play first, before we map cat passenger judgments. We will take a break here. But suffice to say Dion. And thanks for the call, by the way that it's basically the running game is basically a compliment to the bills passing game. That's what's happened. You know, back in Steve's Day, Thurman was the engine the offense and Jim threw the ball all over the place. Um.

"The door Dash app and you can do it today. Taking your phone calls 855 to 1 to four, CBS the Jacksonville Jaguars. They are currently in action in New Orleans. A preseason game against the Saints. Okay. Jamis Winston doing a staying nine of 10 passes 123 Yards, two touchdowns Taysom Hill, 11 of 2100 and 38 yards and his own touchdown. But meanwhile, You know who needs the reps? Someone who's never thrown an NFL pass, and in the first half of the game, Trevor Lawrence, he completed 14 of 23 passes for 100 in 13 yards. Now, having said that We got some funny business from coach Urban Meyer. He says he had Trevor Lawrence hasn't won the starting job yet. Okay? Ha ha ha. And this is going to be a learning experience for everybody involved. This is gonna be a losing team. Trevor Lawrence might have gone number one overall. When you break it down. I don't think he's the front runner to win Rookie of the year. It's easy to say, because he was selected number one, but Think Najee Harris is going to be that guy. I think Najee Harris playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers, being they're running back, knowing that they need some balance on their offense. He's going to get carries. He's going to have some passes thrown his way. I'm confident out of all of the rookies knowing that he's going to get the playing time he's going to get the opportunities. I'd give him the edge out of all the rookies for rookie of the year. Who do you think is the front runner, 855 to 1 to four. CBS. Let's set these phone lines up. We got Jesse. Jesse is calling up from Baltimore. Hey, Jesse you on CBS Sports radio. Hey, what's going on, man? I just wanted to let you know a couple things I want to like your show a lot. Um, Second thing, I think Rashad statement Alright. He's hurt right now. As soon as he comes back, he's gonna be strong. He's gonna come back healthier. And there's another weapon for Lamar. So I'm just gonna put it like that. So just keep him in the looks too. So thank you. Keep my costs, No doubt. No doubt, Jesse. Thank you for calling up from Baltimore. That's that's tough. I mean, one of my main reasons for saying that Najee Harris, I like him for for rookie of the Year was the fact that barring injury we just know what we know. Rashad Bateman is dealing with an injury. In order to to win Rookie of the year you you actually have to be available. In order to win Rookie of the year you actually have to play football. And I get it. It's August, But you know what? September 9th and September 12th will be here sooner than later week. One of the NFL season will be right here in front of us. And it's hard for me to look at Rashad abatement as someone who will win rookie of the year when he just had groin surgery. Like it's it's likely and okay, good for me and maybe good for you out there. I've never had growing surgery. I don't want it. Don't want to pull a groin. I don't want to pull a groin muscle. I never want to have the surgery. Before rookie wide receiver to be dealing with a groin injury and need growing surgery. He's behind a ball. The Baltimore Ravens. I think from the start of training camp, they've been behind the eight ball. You're starting quarterback was out again. Unfortunately, dealing with Covid. So although yes, Rashad Bateman is expected to go out there and, you know, finally be that guy, or maybe emerge as the guy at wide receiver with the Baltimore Ravens. I don't have that much confidence. Especially knowing that he's not playing right now. Man we've seen some some rookie wide receivers just just missed time. At the beginning of their 10 years, and it's hard to catch up. The only wide receiver who I remember having a an injury, uh, delayed to his season. And having an amazing year. Was old Dell Beckham Jr years ago when he was a rookie with the New York Giants. Odell Beckham Jr had like a hamstring injury. And he still came out and had one of the best starts of a career that anybody could ask for. I don't know if that's in store for Rashad Bateman. Knowing a he's dealing with an injury right now. He's not viewed to be the same type of prospect as an old Dell Beckham Jr. And then you know, I guess kind of see. We know the Ravens as much as they need to throw the ball. That's that's not something that they're known for right now. Bateman will be nice. You hope by the time you get to the middle of the season, the end of the season with the Ravens that he's contributing You also hope that you know, maybe Lamar Jackson is throwing that rock around and you know, not running all over the place out of necessity. Two separate things. Want to ask producer Dave When you think about All of the rookies that are going to get these opportunities, the quarterbacks the position players. What do you think is in a good spot to win Rookie of the year? So my answer needs a little bit of help and a little bit of luck, baby, So it's not the most logical answer in the world, but I like Justin Fields. I like his ability. I think he's going to be in a good situation assuming he gets on the field, and that's the problem. So I think Andy Dalton struggles, assuming that they do still decide to make him the starter like it looks like they're going to for a week one. I think he struggles early and often, and I think 13 or 14 games of Justin Field is going to be enough for him to still win the award. Okay. You see some big numbers, huh? Just like his mobility. He's the guy as a Jets fan at number two wanted them to draft so maybe I'm a little bit biased here, in my opinion, but I just I think he's ready. I think he's ready to compete at the NFL level. Obviously, all he has to do is get on the field, and that's saying a lot. I know, but I like his abilities. I think he's ready to go. Hey, getting getting on the field and getting the opportunities that is seemingly sometimes more than half the job. You actually You got to show up, and I'm glad that you mentioned Justin Fields. I'm glad that you mentioned, you know Zach Wilson. That's who. The New York Jets took at number two because these quarterbacks they played over the weekend as well. I mean, there's a prime time audience. Having an opportunity to watch Trevor Lawrence tonight. But we saw some pretty damn good performances from the other incoming rookies over the weekend, one of the rookie quarterbacks Was even compared to Dan Marino. And Tony Romo was the one who gave out that complement. You know what we're going to do? I'm gonna leave the phone lines open 855 to 1 to four. CBS. That's 855 to 1 to four. CBS. We're going to take a break. Phone lines are open. When we come back, we'll talk about these other quarterbacks. Zach Wilson, Justin Fields, What did they do over the weekend in which one of these Q BCE these rookie QB s Was just put in the same sentence as Dan Marino. We'll talk about it on the other side. But right now it's time for a newsflash. Guess who Good man, Bob Hustler. C B yes, once sports flag You got it. Jr. Trevor Lawrence was a top pick in the NFL draft. But the Monday night preseason game between the Jaguars and Saints turned into a showcase for the veteran Jamie's Winston..

Trevor Lawrence Zach Wilson Lamar Jackson Andy Dalton Tony Romo Dan Marino Jamis Winston Odell Beckham Jr Taysom Hill Rashad Bateman Pittsburgh Steelers 14 New York Giants 11 Jesse Bob Hustler Justin Fields 38 yards September 12th 100

"Ask me this week, the NBA gave us a gift. Like a wonderful present of joy and happiness playing basketball games. That it's a short tournament, giving teams a way to earn their way into the NBA Playoffs, the 7th and 8th seed in the playoffs. And I loved it. I have seen criticism, and I don't understand the criticism, I think it's cool to me this happen. For example, on Wednesday, LeBron James played Steph Curry, the the Golden State Warriors, played the Lakers and had a meaningful game that without a play-in game. We wouldn't have got that any other way. There was no other path where the Warriors would ended up playing the Lakers in the future but because of a playing game. We got it. We got Curry versus LeBron. It was really fun. I don't get the hate, I don't win. The NBA says here. You want more basketball, you want fun entertainment, you want. Good stuff to watch. You want Jayson? Tatum dropping 50 on ja Morant going off in the fourth quarter. I say, yeah, I'll take that, cuz that's fun. I enjoy sports. I enjoy watching good stuff. I cannot believe anybody complained about the NBA play on games. Now play in games, not play on games. My one critique is this. It's so new this playing game system. That they appear like they're not sure what to do with the statistics and the numbers. So any any numbers you put up in a play-in game they don't count as a regular season statistic and they don't count as a playoff statistic and I don't know why they don't also count towards the postseason because A play-in game is a playoff game. Where if you lose you go home, that's a playoff game to me and I watch Jayson, Tatum dropped fifty points on Tuesday and I thought that should count for something like that. That's a pretty impressive performance that it's very disappointing, ain't going in the record books anywhere. So, I, I love the NBA playing games. I want to recap, what happened? Not very like, New Zealand journalist eyewear. I don't really have a lot of opinion, just like reading and kind of telling you what happened. So first of all, on Tuesday, the Celtics beat the Washington Wizards hundred and fifty to one hundred. It was a blowout, the final, you know, Jason Tatum I mentioned already that he had fifty points and, you know, Boston had a massively at the end but by winning Boston in the, you know, the Boston, Celtics, secured off the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture..

"I feel like a run into nonsense and it's heartbreaking. I feel like you know, you have a friend that you you love them but your interests diverge and you go different paths in life and not grow apart and like you miss that person, but even if you hang out with that person, now it's not going to be the same as it used to be because they've changed and you've changed. That's how I feel about Major League Baseball. Like I said, it's it's not what I want it to be, and I'm a different person and I don't stand for nonsense and tolerating bull crap. I just can't, I can't do it. I can't do the unwritten rules. I do a lot of the weird stuff that you can't celebrate. You can't enjoy a home run by hate that stuff and to me, I got a lot of entertainment options available to me. I would rather watch wistfully, like football league's the American wiffle Association. That's my friends. Do it up. North north of Seattle. It's really fun. I enjoy it so much and it's fun. It's not, it's not a drag. There's no discouraging home runs. There's no weird rules that aren't actually in the rule book because if it wasn't a robot, could be embarrassing. And that that to me, that that's my frustration with major league baseball. Now, how about a good thing? How about? I want to say something positive about Major League Baseball? I think it's possible especially with the audience of this show and this podcast we just mainly football some racing fans cuz I like I got a weird people love football and former the one it's a weird group of humans that follow the show like very opposite people that somehow come together. Got a lot of Europeans. Listen to this show to Germany, what's up? Okay now so if you don't know a lot about baseball you might not know about this. I want to tell you about Shuhei. Sorry shohei Shuhei I knew a guy named Shuhei. Who spelled his name. Exactly like shohei ohtani spells his name I knew him at Shuhei. He went by that all through elementary school but this guy's name is shohei shohei. Ohtani He's currently dominating two very, very different parts of baseball pitching and batting and he plays on an American League team, the LA Angels, and get that in the American League pitchers. Do not have to bet because pitchers historically are bad at batting in the National League. They have to bat and it's kind of just a wasted, a bad almost every game. Now case you get a picture of hit something or home round or whatever, but in the American League you don't have pitchers bat you have designated hitters who are better at batting. And usually there like an old dude who can't run very well but you can still hit for power or something. Like there's a reason why your designated hitter and not playing second base. It's cuz you probably have a debate in school but you can still hit a baseball. And pictures traditionally partially because, you know, if you're a pitcher you're so specialized and you're so focused on this. One thing, you're always training for pitching ain't trading for batting and hitting home runs and stuff. So.

"And again, if you break an Unwritten Rule and hit a home run. That's good. No one's going to Care. Two years from now and that's what you're paid to do. Players are incentivised to do well with money and if you do you want them to not hit a home run if they're given the option to hit a home run like what are we doing? You why is this a debate? And I know that what I'm saying is probably very popular, but the fact that anybody has this thought process and thinks that I'm wrong is weird to me. I don't, I don't understand what does Tony larussa thinking? What are these people who support the unwritten rules of baseball thinking of crazy to me. Let me go to point number three. And you know, people say it's disrespectful. The reason why the unwritten rules are where they are is cuz you want to be a sportsman and have class and be respectful. And I get all that, although I will six people over use the word disrespectful all the time. Like is hitting a home is hitting a homerun. Of a picture. He's not doing his job very well. Is that really disrespectful or is that the other guys bad at his job? And where's the line? Like I just is it disrespectful to run up the score. Here's a very simple answer. If you don't want a batter to hit a home run, then do a better job teaching you under what we're having sympathy for people who batted the job and getting home runs, hit off of them. It's natural competition. It's me vs Gila. There's a man, I don't know. And if you can't handle losing, if you throw, if every time someone hits a home run off of you, you get so angry. You would get the next batter. You, you have no emotional maturity at all. Like it's really sad. It's weird to me. And after both of those home, runs the Fernando Torres, home run. The a couple of days ago, the home run by the White Sox. The pictures through a batter's following those events cuz you know you got to defend the honor and it's so wrong and I just meant if you don't like losing then you gotta do better. Don't make excuses and talk of Unwritten rules. I hate that crap in baseball and I love baseball. It's an amazing sport but Major League Baseball, the league and the sport have diverged to a point where I love the sport. I hate the league hates a strong word. I really struggle with Major League Baseball where I'm like, it's got these stupid archaic Customs. That just don't know. The the seem to discourage competition If a guy gives you an inch and you had a home run, that's a good. It's never a bad thing. You never discourage a guy hitting a homerun ever ever. I don't care what the situation is. And it irritates me to no end. I used to love Major League Baseball. I watch the game every single day with my grandpa. And I miss that feeling of loving Major League Baseball. But now, I feel like any time I pay attention to baseball or watch baseball..

"I love the rules about works. But in Major League Baseball, oh my gosh. I hate the unwritten rules of Major League Baseball and there's a lot to unpack here. So this first really became deeply meaningful and important to me when last year, Fernando tatis jr. Hit a grand slam. Which by the way the Grand Slam it's a full run home run. It's like this. Incredible special should be an exciting moment. He had a grand slam and it was made to apologize for it. Okay. And I got a lot to say about that too long. It drove me nuts. And so he had a grand slam up. You know, his team was winning by seven runs in the eighth, inning. It was a 300 count. Meaning, there were three balls, no strikes. And I guess according to the unwritten rules, three balls, no strikes up seven runs late in the game. The unwritten rules, say you're not supposed to swing in that scenario supposed to take a strike right down the middle, and let the picture have one. Well, he did swing and hit a grand slam, which should be celebrated. That's an amazing accomplishment. That's really, really cool, but he had to apologize because, apparently it's rude to embarrass a picture on the other team. You can't, you can't succeed because I might embarrass the other team that's so dumb. I saw, I think CC Sabathia said something like that. If you don't want someone to, if you don't want to throw, if you're worried about a 300 count, just throw strikes, don't you don't get in that position in the first place. Like I really, really hate how we grovel and make excuses for people who aren't doing good at their job. Like what what do you mean like? How about you better? So this is done, but there's more so pretty. He's literally had to apologize for hitting a grand slam, which by the way is home? Run that made him the league leader in home runs by doing that? Again, that's a moment. You should celebrate, not criticize, but then in May this month May 2021. The White Sox are up 15 to for beating the Minnesota Twins in the top of the ninth inning. The game is over Europe, fifteen, it's an eleven run. Lead, the twins literally care so much about the game. They put a position player on the mound. A guy who normally plays catcher first base, or third base, who does not Pitch, he's a position player They put that guy in the mound pitching. And the White Sox had home, run off this guy..

I don't know, but the guy said this, he said What if the state you said the stadiums going to be called just the stadium, the Washington football team plays at the stadium. Like just, I don't know. It kind of Smithfield. This whole thing made me laugh and it's funny and true that, you know, the owners worried about building a stadium when his team doesn't have a team name, and there's all kinds of, you know, bad press. We've seen about Dan Schneider in the past that has come out. And then since been buried and I he's a befuddling owner, I don't understand like he he really wanted to draft Dwayne Haskins, that went horribly. Cuz it's son played High School football with him. I dance centers the weird owner that I can't quite pin down and figure out but I guess they're looking at building a stadium and I maybe that stadium that may or may not have a name cuz the team doesn't have a name either so I don't know, we'll find out. My name is actually, I'm going to take a short break when I returned Lewis Hamilton. We're to talk about him. "Say massive life-altering event that will change his life and his family life family's life. I mean, the whole Najee Harris is family is forever changed and I just man like oh it's such a cool story and the fact that I just have never heard another story about a guy off and they might be out there if they are. If anybody else knows of a story like that where a guy had a draft party at a homeless shelter or something like that. Let me I love that kind of stuff. That's very, very cool. Now, here is another cool story. Something I completely missed before some, I don't know how I missed us but I did the NBA team. The Utah Jazz pledged to fund, offered a full-ride scholarship, a four-year scholarship, for every game they win this year and that means tuition, you know, books random little fees room and board everything a complete four-year, full-ride scholarship and they're giving out one for every game they win this year. That's a massive life-changing thing. I love getting to cover stories like this where you get to talk about like five or something. It's related to sports, but it's also just like cool. And about people, My God is Awesome. And the scholarships are going to Utah, high school students from under-represented groups. And I think it's a cool gesture, man. I, you know, so far this year, the Utah Jazz have 155 games are now in the NBA playoffs and the number isn't done. It's going to keep going up and if they win more games, they're going to give up more scholarships. And I I don't know how I didn't know that was happening all year, but when I found out, like, that's so cool. I I just really, really love that and so I think giving kids who, you know, maybe need a break, or giving kids who deserve it, a life-altering opportunity, I love seeing stuff like that. And so I want to try to make an effort to tell stories like that on the show a little bit more aware. Every once awhile, you want something that is happy and uplifting and feels good and it may be critical or I I'm not, I don't know. I want to talk about stuff that like that. Like, that's really cool. I didn't know that and I loved and I'm just so happy for Utah Jazz and what they're doing. And I think that's going to change some people's lives and I think that's maybe one of the coolest things going on in Iraq right now is that quiet little Utah Jazz store giving out a scholarship for every game they win which is now a climbing big amount of wins this year. Now, this next story. Let me drink some tea, first real quick. Okay,.

"Definitely. There's there's there's a there's a line right of. How much do you need to prepare your style of play but also prepare the defense that they're playing in what they're going to get at the same time right. Let's let's try to improve in Laugh what can you get away with. What ain't you do So seeing justin in some early makes on sundays. It's like okay you know. Is that something i can do. And i try to press that year or is that not something that i'm able to do in. Maybe i see it a little bit different way. This coverage states me year rather than you know justin mater tara instill a like you said there. There's a lot of stuff that you can improve on time. Best to take advantage of that loss. But now you're smart to do so. Many think about patrick mahomes in in the year that he had to sit behind alex smith and just develop go up against the starting defense and make yourself better. I love that i'm curious. Mentioned herber in and you you were there. I know he was young. He was just a freshman with trade lance. But when you when you compare those skill sets is there any similarities there between those two guys eastern. Yeah thanks so just bowed bass strong like physical you talk about like the prototype Physically i think they're both right in there with and then that's what they're able to do movement wise both Fast they have the ability to escape. Stay athletic make plays Outside of the bucket. But i think the one thing that i think is really similar is mentally their ability to process. That was maybe the thing that stood out trae. When when i was first around north dakota state how quickly we learned our offense and how quickly was able to absorb everything he was being taught and just as the same way you haven't known as no preseason to be thrown in there we to dauphin operate offense in any never looked back in so i think just mental makeup. They're both mature And can just handle a lot of information and process it so most super impressive..

"Those numbers from the workout. Pretty darn impressive. One of the few bigger wideouts in this year's draft class has a chance to go and route one. This got us thinking. We talk about alabama. We're talking about lsu look at this. We're going to have seven first. Round picks from these two schools alone between twenty twenty and the twenty twenty. One drafts a buck. As we look at this list of the obama receivers you see the lsu receivers led by justin jefferson a phenomenal rookie season. He had to pick one going into the future. Who would you would you invest between these two groups. I'm go tigers. I'm gonna go with lsu. Because i've seen justin. Jefferson played a level. That was almost worthy of winning the office. Rookie of the and then you think about tomorrow jason. The fact that your march ace was the numbers even when justin jefferson was there that speaks volumes about his talents. So for me. I love with the alabama receivers have been able to do but man those those tires man get rockwood type this while. I'm to go quantity here. I've got four. You've got three. I've got so if i go with obama. I mean. I'm not a math guy before more than three so to me. You get a chance with the smith. I think it's going to be a high volume receiver as jerry. Jeudy i think is going to grow into for the denver broncos and then i've got to home run hitters. I've got rugs with the raiders flashed a little bit last year needs to needs to get better. I think he will. And then you look at waddell. What he's going to do not only isn't over the top receiver but if somebody that can help you on. Special teams the dynamic returner. So you're going tigers. I'll go tied. I know one thing if you're a team that has any of these seven wide receivers going forward. You're happy those. Those are the real winners bookie brooks those are the real winners. The teams that get to deploy these fantastic weapons. We're gonna take the dallas cowboys inside the move the sticks body shop in just a moment but first of all buck new contract for dak prescott. What does that mean to you. Living that the finally confirmed and solidified dak prescott status as the franchise quarterback. I'm over forty million dollars. A year is now entrance to be cowboys starter. For maybe the next four or five years so you can go about building the team with dak prescott emerging from game manager to play making the decisions you make now have to be about enhancing debt prescott skills as a placement They really started to put more on his shoulders with this offense before this last injury he suffered but man..

"And now move the sticks with daniel jeremiah and bookie brooks. What's up everybody. Welcome to move the sticks. Dj in bucky back with you and buck man. We are getting closer to cleveland. The draft is right around the corner and we have got a jam packed. show today. Yeah we do have a jampacked show we have a one on one conversation with naza harris top running back from alabama speaking of alabama. We're going to talk about the alabama receivers versus to lsu receivers. Which would you rather have and finally we get a chance to fix america's team we're gonna take the dallas cowboys into the body shop and give them rock the ready to go before we get all that a buck. I feel like we're averaging one big trade a week this week. It was the news. That sam darnold moving on the jets trading him to the carolina panthers for a sixth round. Pick this year a to an a four and twenty twenty two. I think we know we have a good idea at least of where the jets are that second overall pick it. Looks like zack. Wilson from byu. The quarterback will be the pick their but for the carolina. Panthers now that they have sam darnold freeze them up to go in any direction they please what. What are you see them doing here with the eighth overall pick. Dj thing. now. If you go into the sam don and it looks like right now if you figure the fifth year option talking about two years twenty two million dollars. That's a solid number for young entry starting quarterback apart. We fixed the office a lot. How 'bout we get a guy like maybe the nasal someone who was there that can really upgraded and get it done and when you're looking for new really unique combination of a lawler brawler with athletic feet. There you saw on fire off the ball movement scales. He received the first step and bursts. In what shows up repeatedly on safe is movement skills here working combo to get to the linebacker moving off the ball. You just don't see big athletic linemen. That can do things that he can do on the move here pulling to the next level washing the linebacker out the whole does it over and over again. Dj we've talked about it. This might be the best stuff that he does in the screen game. Get into the second and third level. Just his ability to move is unique for a big player..

"Here. What are we got next question. This one increased variations games. Both offense and defense team's gonna put more value on versatility. I think that's something that we've always discussed on the podcast book. Yeah absolutely you're trying to find guys that can do multiple things on both sides of the ball receivers that you could line up in the backfield talking about safety so you could put down. The boxer can cover in the slot. Versatility is huge positions football. We've talked about the league. Trending that way not only on offense with these wide receivers that can play like wingback running backs but defense safeties light linebackers corners. Coming back to play safety absolutely worth being shift. Versatility has really coveted. Yeah look in the nfc west if you want to see it on the offensive side of the ball. Look what the niners are doing. You want to see it on the defensive side of the ball look with the arizona. Cardinals are doing trying to be as multiple on versatile as possible. They drive to two minutes and 34 seconds 907 to go in the first half in Alabama back on top by a score of 21 to 14. That was, That's what Nick Saban was looking for that offense. After that, three and out and totally change the momentum of this game from Texas A and M and I'll damage back on top kick off. Write it from right to left. That's gonna go into the end zone again.
