"How do we say cam news name on this show? Newton. Newton takes the snap, runs to the right side. Lunch is forward. He's in. First thing we said when we saw him was damn. That's a good can takes a snap rolling right throws for the end zone it's caught touchdown. He won pay as your secondary at two 60. You like damn, he fast. His KO damn dude. You know, that was two years ago, it's LEGO, but it kind of still feels pressed on it. Yeah, yeah, it feels good. It feels good. Y'all know that's my favorite word. It feels good. My mom don't like it, but this is my favorite. His favorite word is cam. Cam Newton by the way, working out for scalp today at auburn pro day. Looking to get back into the NFL. Remember, he said, ant 32 quarterbacks better than me, but will a team agree? Well, here's a little bit more from cam's Twitter. Tell me how these randoms keep getting don't worry about it. I'm gonna say, I can't wait to say. I love that. I'm seeing a lot of people talking the idea in this official. I will be throwing that Aubrey's per day so that's official and we're still waiting on him to do those exact throws. But anyway, welcome to NFL live. Glad to have you with us on this Tuesday. You see it right there. Teddy brewski, Martha Stewart's Diana rossini, and we also have Mel kiper junior he's joining us. His mock draft three dropped today, he'll tell us a lot what's going on with the draft. A lot of fun at the top of the quarterback. The first guy, let's get back to cam, okay? He's looking to prove he still belongs in the league, but he did struggle to produce when we last saw him in recent seasons, okay? Since 2019, Newton ranks 44th in QBR last in touchdown interception ratio in 41st in off target rate among 46 quarterbacks to throw at least 500 passes over that span Diana, we start with you, the workouts just getting underway. What do we know about the scene there at auburn? Yeah, I'm talking to some scouts that are there watching this pro day. They're there for all burn, but also keeping an eye on Cam Newton and I can tell you there is one team who is there specifically to see Cam Newton's workout and he's gonna he's gonna be throwing in about 35 40 minutes from now. He's doing some warmup and stretches right now just to get ready for that throwing session. But around the league, Laura just having conversations with different head coaches and GMs about where Cam Newton stands at this point in his career. I feel like I got a little bit of mixed review, some still believe he's such a leader. He's such a workhorse that he could be so good for any locker room. Well, there are some concerns about his shoulders, injury. We know that he dealt with that when he was with New England. Is he a starter from what I can gather? That's not the sense I'm getting, but there are some teams who believe he could be a backup. And if you're looking at the topics bar, which is that little thing on the screen down below that has the funny font. Yes, we're doing that for cam in honor of cam. He likes the funny fonts. We're all about it today. It's really cute. Marcus. Teddy's like, oh, that's what it is. I mean, I know. Our team is great. So Marcus, when you think about Cam Newton, how he fits in today's NFL, because things have changed certainly. What goes through your mind? I'm with you, teddy. My brain was glitching too. Looking down there. I was like, what is happening? But that is cam's right. Here's the thing, boogie. Ham is no longer the anomaly, right? Like for so many years, we watched him in this league and he was dominant and he was the only one that you could point to that could do the things that he was doing. Which were phenomenal, by the way. Let's not get it twisted. When Cam Newton was Cam Newton and all over the field, it was no one else in the league like that on his way to an MVP season. But now you have the Josh Allen's of the world. The dual three guys, the column Murray, the Lamar Jackson. We saw Jalen hurts. Go to a Super Bowl this year. And the polarizing overall arching conversation about dual three quarterbacks ones that put themselves in harm way, the ones that take all things to run and be as dominant with their legs. It's no longer something that we kind of look at and be like, oh, but is he a quarterback? That's no longer the conversation. So now it really all revolves around Kim's ability to push the ball downfield. And to have that ability in his age and not being the guy that we either grow in accustomed to him being dominant. So they'll get a good look at that, but the overall origin conversation is dual threat is accepted in the NFL now and Cam Newton is no longer that anomaly that he was. You know, let's see how he looks in the workout. I know a lot of teams will be interested because cam can provide a service in my opinion. He can provide a service that on a limited basis, 68 quarterbacks played last year. 68 quarterback started last year. That's a lot of quarterbacks, and that tells you how much these quarterbacks take a beating and sometimes you're getting into your second, your third, sometimes if you're getting into forty-niners, you're getting your third and fourth quarterbacks because it just happens. I mean these edge rushers will eventually get to you and they will provide pain and then injury and then you get worn down. And that's exactly what happened to cam, though. So are the shoulders okay, but I absolutely think can cam provide something for you in terms of, you know, getting in three, four games, not be a starter absolutely because I don't know if he'll last 17 games with those beat up shoulders, but definitely a service and he can help a team win. Yeah, it really great points. We do have this in just now. New one NFL lives, some video of Cam Newton out at auburn pro day where he's gonna throw in just a little bit. There he is stretching as they get ready to go. They had expected him to throw about an hour ago, but as you know with these pro days, the schedules can be interesting. By the way, the last time we saw Cam Newton play was exactly 450 days ago. We'll keep you updated on that. Let's get to some news around the league with Diana and I start us off with news on the running back position down in Dallas. Well, Laura, we know it was about a week ago, right? That the Dallas Cowboys cut Ezekiel Elliott, and it was really big news because the question was, well, where are they going to go at the running back position? Because we know Tony Pollard's the guy and they want to run the ball more. Mike McCarthy made that clear. Well, they signed up Ronald Jones. We know he spent last season with the chiefs. He played in about 6 games and of course he had a breakout season in 2020 with the buck, so he's entering Dallas with two Super Bowl rings here, so he will add to that running back room. Then meantime, speaking of the Dallas Cowboys, former Dallas cowboy tied in Dalton Schultz signed with the Houston Texans so he will stay in Texas. He'll take over as the starter there while he signed a one year deal. If you remember last year, the cowboys franchise tagged him and they decided to move on from him so he now will add to the Texans offense. Meantime, Devin Singletary goes from the Buffalo Bills to the Houston Texans. Of course, in 20 regular season touchdown, 16 Russians, he signed a one year deal, the Jack of all trades really was a big part of the run game in Buffalo, but we know that the Houston Texans have also been very bold about wanting to run the ball and speaking of buffalo, right? So buffalo had a replace. Him, so they had to go with Demian Harris, a guy they are very familiar with as they know that they face the Patriots every season. He signed a one year deal to join the bills. Now, he wanted to go back to New England, Laura, but buffalo really wanted him because you're looking really to beef up that size with James cook and naim Heinz, right? So they really want to differentiate that backs group there. So for them, that feels like he was able to distinguish himself and make himself a little bit more different than the guys they already have on that roster. Yeah, I love that signing Damien here is just a tough, really smart running back with the addition of Harris alongside James cook as you just heard Diana mentioned, as well as nahim Hines, the bills might look to lighten their workload for Josh Allen when it comes to him running the football at buffalo is heavily relied on their quarterback to help carry their ground game so much so that over the last two seasons Allen has accounted for 34% of buffalo's rushing yards. That's the highest percentage of any quarterback for

"Job for free. Greg, let's head to, let's get to the Patriots cults. Huge game. Saturday night. It's gonna be it's gonna be a game that's probably solved by by the big guys up front. We know a lot about the colts running game and who better to talk about big guys than a former big guy. Now skinny guy Greg beard. But you wrote about this and you talked about it and you've got some things you're worried about and some things that you feel good about. So let's break those down. What worries you most for the Patriots heading into this game? The Frank Reich factor. This is a guy who, you know, I think a lot of, he is not perfect. I will certainly say that. This is a guy who was the basically the brainchild. It was not Doug Peterson. The visor and Super Bowl 52 was that 52. And. Frank Reich knows there are certain guys who know who are comfortable scheming against certain schemes. Like Josh McDaniels and the Patriots are great against the Seattle cover three. Frank Reich knows the Patriots system. He knows how to target it. He will he will make you defend every blade of artificial turf comes Saturday night. He will exploit some of the mismatches. He's really one of those formidable opponents in terms of offensive coordinators game planners play callers. And so, you know, he's the first thing that I'm worried about in this game. What he is going to have things in the back of his pocket. Judging off that Super Bowl against the eagles, I would look for whether it's Jonathan Taylor or nahim Hines, the other running back, getting their running backs involved in the passing game down the field that's something we saw with Corey Clement in that Super Bowl I would do the same sort of thing, get him matched up with whether it's Juan Bentley or Dante Hightower or Jamie Collins, get a matched up. He's gonna have especially his script early is going to be really good and it's gonna throw the Patriots for a loop. I would not be surprised if the cults go down and score on their first possession. But then the game is going to be on. And who's going to win the chess match there? Right. And so let's lump the next two together. It's obviously the Jonathan Taylor factory. The best running back is certainly now with Derek Henry gone in the NFL by a considerable margin. He is both a powerful back and he has breakaway speed. So you've got to be really, really careful with him because he can bust one..

"Happy Friday, everybody. Welcome back to the get your goat podcast, Josh here, and there is a lot to get into. I'm going to recap the jet colts Thursday Night Football game last night, what went so right for the Indianapolis Colts? Then Odell beckon junior to be released, I'm gonna react to that. And then some teams, I'd like to see or reach out and get OBJ. Then week 9 matchups, there are so many good football games on this Sunday. I'm gonna go through those break them down, maybe make some game picks, fantasy, players to watch out for as well. Then I'm gonna get into the Lakers and just how they can't beat the thunder. Maybe it's just the curse of Russell Westbrook being on the team and facing his former team on another stent. Then I'm gonna break down the Jack eichel trade as well and underwhelming offer that the sabers accepted, and then I am going to make some college football picks, ten picks I will be making for the games tomorrow. So let's get right into it with the New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts Thursday night football game. Now this game I predicted but colts to win, I was right the colts one 45 to 30 and it really wasn't close at all the majority of this game. Really other than the first quarter when nahim Hines had a 34 yard run. I've been Elijah Moore. I had a nice pass from Mike white. But on that drive from Mike white, he looked like he sustained some pressure while he did didn't look like it. He did. Get his heart arm hit, looked awkward as well when it was hit, but he went back on that drive, however, he was not able to go after me that kind of lost a lot of the oomph on the New York jet sideline, a lot of the swag that they had going on and then you enter Jonathan Taylor. Who just wrecked the jet defensive jets defense was awful right before you know it. You know, it's 28 to ten. Halftime. Jonathan Taylor had himself a day two big touchdown runs one of 70 8 yards, the second one, that 70 yarder put the colts up 42 to ten and then the final score was 45 to 30. Jud's going in nice, you know, 20 to three run right there. Just for some respect, but that was not enough to make this game close at all. The star performer was Jonathan Taylor 19 carries 172 yards two touchdowns and really this team was very balanced. That's what I love because you had, you know, Josh Johnson come in there for the New York Jets after Mike white had the injury. And to me, he didn't do that bad. 317 yards. Three touchdowns to one interception to me really they just could not get the running and going, and that's something I thought they would need to get going. In order to sustain them and help them get closer, play with an edge and it just did not happen at all. The Indian M and Indianapolis Colts dominated the jets they allowed 530 yards, best how many yards he colts had in total..

"He still recovering from a torn Achilles, but otherwise, man, their colts offensive line they have is fantastic. And if Eric Fisher can stay healthy and play at a high level, that's going to be a really, really impressive offensive line. And one of the better ones in the NFL. The colts have three stud running backs. They have starter Jonathan Taylor. They have nahim Hines, who is a guy that catches passes out of the backfield more like a scat back. And then Marlon Mack is a good contributor who can bring depth off of the bench. Cold stop receiver TY Hilton right now unfortunately starts the year on the IR he will miss at least the first three games. But even without TY Hilton, the colts have a couple really solid receiving options. They have Michael Pittman junior. They have Paris Campbell. They have Zach Pascal. Plus two Titans Jack Doyle and mo Ali Cox. Now, the defensive front for Indianapolis is terrifying. They are led by defensive tackle divorce Buckner. He actually apparently played hurt all year last year. They also just drafted a new defensive end quitty pay. He should have a really, really big impact immediately. I love a story love his family love everything about quitty pay. I think he's going to be a stud in Indianapolis. Linebackers Bobby O'Reilly and then Darius Leonard is outstanding and outstanding fantastic linebacker in Indy. Now corner is a concern, especially week one with the colts. Xavier roads is going to be out against Seattle. And when you're missing Xavier roads and you're missing your starting left tackle Eric Fisher week one against Seattle a team that I think on paper if everyone's healthy, they call it their way better than Seattle. But unfortunately, if you're missing a couple guys and Seattle is Russell Wilson and you're missing a corner, especially rocky I'll send your number two corner is a big weakness for this football team. So even if you were fully healthy in the secondary ware, Xavier Rhodes was healthy, I still would be worried about rocky a sin trying to guard DK Metcalf occasionally. Defenses are gonna go after rocky as in this year. He is a weakness on this football team. And this year is going to come down to a couple of things in indie. Things that have to go well. Not having a number two corner is a problem. That other corner, the guy not named Xavier roads, that's really bad. It's a hole on their roster. And they match up particularly badly with the tendency Titans of AJ Brown and Julio Jones that receiver. So Xavier roads can guard one of those guys, but the other one's gonna have to be guarded by rocky a sin. And that really, really makes me uncomfortable. It makes me nervous. However, the colds are a team that I think man if.
