But it doesn't do anything to help with giving you a quality of life when a doctor can't charge you a bunch of money to fix what's wrong with you. And went I through this with my own father because of a mishap and he ended up in a care facility and then all of a sudden, you know, we were called to a meeting at the facility and they said, OK, Mark and brothers and sisters of Mark, the so -called coverage is going to end here. We didn't know finances here. If we want to keep George a little bit longer for rehab. And we were looking at each other like what burden time for the family. We don't know what's going to happen. I'm not going to be able to help. I'm not going to be able to help. I'm going to be I do with our clients' family meetings. We establish a plan with the people who are going to be retiring or that need the help. But it doesn't do any good if the family doesn't know that what plan is. It's a disease that weakens bones, which can lead to big problems. Geriatrician doctor ardashir hashmi says some people don't even know they have it. Unfortunately, most people find out the hard way. They have a fall, they don't think that they ever broken anything before and they say, well, the fall wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't think I would get these fractures and there they are with a fracture. By definition that fragility fracture is you have osteoporosis. Doctor hashmi says the good news is that osteoporosis can largely be prevented by eating foods that have calcium to help support bone health. Supplements like vitamin D help as well and exercise is a big factor in preventing the disease. For some people, it's actually even water type of exercises. So aquatic therapy or swimming. But that gives you more aerobic sort of exercise. The resistance does come though, and it actually comes from the counter pressure of the water. Marina rockinger, northwest, news radio. Do you want some help with your taxes? What's she got is three years in a rows worth of W twos. What do I do with them? Do I file ten 40 X for those back years Wow, that's a good question and the short answer to that one is if I was doing this tax return, somebody walked up to me as a professional and said, would you do the tax return? I would basically the first thing I want to do is to file and get it transcript for this person. So I know not only did what other income has been reported to the IRS. And then once I know the dollar amount that is involved, then I can decide as to whether I would need to do ten 48, ten 40 EZ, ten 40 X, that's what would tell me as to what I would need to end up doing. So I think be sure that you first understand what income you're going to be dealing with, and then hopefully she can help you establish what deductions whether it's going to be just a simple form. She's going to take the standard deduction whether she's going to buy my deductions. That's where I would start. It's going to be standard deduction, but it's three years in a row. They didn't send her a W two for a couple of years. Now the business closed at the end of this last year. They sent her three years worth, I don't know why she waited to do anything about it. And so did she file a return of any sort in during that time? No. She didn't. So then ten 40 X will not apply it. And 40 X is really an amendment, right? I mean, when you're trying to go in a vendor, that's when you fill that form out. So if you have any file that you'll have to go ahead and deal with it, and you can count on it, that at first blush the iris is going to say you're going to pay interest in penalties for not firing taxes if there are taxes due. And you should be able to get out of the interest in the penalties by making a showing that this was beyond her control. The employee had not given her the W twos. So you should be able to go ahead and get that done. You know, if you get stuck with any of this, you might want to think about calling the University of Washington, school of law, their tax clinic. Okay. They have a very robust clinic up there. When I was a student, I was, that's where I cut my teeth on tax law and to file hard to file tax returns. You got students to do it free for low income people, and they have a sliding scale if somebody has income, they can take that on. And just work there. I think that will be a good place for you to start. Hopefully that answers your questions. Yes, it does. That's an excellent place to start. Thank you very much. Okay, great. And I want to ask you, when we get back getting back into this estate planning question that we have, or the theme of a state planning, I should say, what do people do wrong when it comes to a state planning? Well, they don't do the estate planning. That's one of the biggest mistakes that people end up making. I'll get to it. I'll get to it. And many times people don't get to it. The ones who do get to it, they forget to update it, right? So we had a caller calling saying that, you know, my nieces have not grown up. They don't need the money. So that means that Bill needs to be updated. And about every four or 5 years, you should be doing it. So those are the more obvious ones, but the real mistake that people end up making is thinking that just getting a form is what I need. I need a document called power of turning. I put the names and phone numbers and it's got a lot of gibberish up here. It'll empower my agents to go and do everything. And I'm saying, no, no, no, no, no. You need to kind of think about what you're doing. That's the problem that we become a nation where we want cheap, inexpensive, simple, easy to digest answers. That's a huge problem. What is the point of a power of attorney? I don't want to become a burden on someone. So how do you write a power of training? Well, I mean, it's pretty simple. My name is Rajiv nagai. I'm married to my wife. I have three children. If I become ill, I appoint my wife to be my agent. And if my wife is not there for any reason she can't take, then I appoint my children in some order to be my agent. Okay, so you got the power of turning is done. You feel good about it. You paid nothing. You paid a little bit money for the whole thing and got it done. Okay, good job. Now you fall ill. What are you going to ask your child to do? What do you think when you are no longer able to marry the finances of child will do? Well, pay taxes manage my money, take care of my house, pay my bills, take care of the car of the cards falling apart. If I have a business go shut the business that do everything that I was doing. And you don't want to become a what? Do you hear that thunderous, this is absolute chaos that you're going to create in somebody's life? A typical part of journey is a guarantee that you will not be a burden to anyone. Other than the people you're going to name in the document to those people you are guaranteed to be a burden because your power of attorney generally does not have any details about what the agent is supposed to do. What you need to do prepare is not just a power of attorney, but a manual of instructions. A manual that guides the person who's going to use the power of turning. That's the single biggest mistake people make. Tarek? There you have it. Again, if you want to hear regime the guy at a seminar in person, he's great over the air. But he's better in prison. The knife that joe showed them was definitely not a pocket knife. She said it was an eight inch knife in a sheath by trial it was a pocket knife. We tried to find rose on our first trip because we had many questions about her statement. We wanted to know why it changed and also about something. She told police in her tape statement. Because i could actually go in either mask on because we weren't traveling at the time and it worked because we were able to tie in this heartfelt tony tribute into the film because it was really his vision.
