He had overall right scored every time it to god. Something that's Dodgy early more detail on so it was quite tricky when we got to level when you write a book that has to be checked. "When you sleep is something it's kind of a mental martial arts technique, and a number of psychics have told me over the years that they do that every night. Let's go to the phones. Let's start by going to bill in Los Angeles to get us started high Bill Lori as a former reporter myself, Columbia J. School 86. I was kind of interesting that you mentioned this chemists calculate your the only other person I've heard familiar with that story. For the record, the source that I read about him and I don't have a computer. I'm doing it by memory. He was staring into a fire when he came up with his chemical solution for for the molecule. He was looking at it to my knowledge. It was not a dream, but that's just kind of a minor thing. My my main concern is something you said. About not letting logic talk you out of what your sixth sense is saying, And I would argue that the six cents maybe a good supplement to logic. But I would go with Aristotle, who said nobody ever broke logic, But that logic didn't break him first. Well, I think we need both. This is why I know when I did corporate trainings. I mean, we did high performance thinking, um, you know, learning how to use logic and intuition. Carl, You said that intuition or the sixth sense is a way that we take in information about the world. And then we organized that information using primarily our logic, what he called a thinking function and or our emotional intelligence or the feeling function. So, but sometimes you know, we were are six cents and we I've interviewed and in my book, six cents unlocking your ultimate mind Power I've interviewed of first responders and veterans. And people who said that it was that split second of inner knowing they didn't know where it came from. That actually saved their life. So, um, yes, Theoretically, A. We need both in order to lead a balanced life. I would totally agree with you, but sometimes you get that sudden flash of knowing and it's part of your survival. Network of intelligence is I think the name of that movie I was mentioning. It's called inception came out in 2010 inception was gorgeous. That was a great movie. Yeah, stealing secrets and things entering people's brains and their dreams is that possible? I think it is possible. I I hope it never happens to anybody listening, But I do think it is possible just as we can receive messages from spiritual beings from angels from guides from power animals and from loved ones on the other side. Let's go to Brendan in Austin, Texas, one of our favorite towns. Hi, Brandon. A brand a Thanks George and Doctor Nady. El Inception was a really good movie. I really liked that movie. That was a big inspiration for me to get into lucid dreaming. But real quick. I have two questions and My first question is what is the prevalence with a D H D and people with the SP And my second question is How do people with chronic anxiety? Uh like Generalized anxiety or PTSD. How can they be helped by ESPN? Thank you. Okay, Let's take anxiety first. Uh, if we can, Lori Um, you know, there's a very interesting relationship between intuition and anxiety of and and it's a number of studies show that intuitive people. Tend to have more anxiety. Then people who are more let's say pragmatic or we call them sensing people, you know, people who are more concrete in their thinking. And Carl, You said that intuition is the ability to see around the corner. And when we have anxiety, we're going around the corner and where we are creating a movie of something that hasn't happened yet. And we're actually in the movie, and we're looking at this. This horrible thing that hasn't happened yet, and it's so compelling that the whole body believes that it's already happened. And I always say that, uh um creative people have more anxiety and people who are kind of less creative or, you know, less visionary. Have less anxiety. So I think there's a definitely a relationship between anxiety and intuition and intuitive people very often will come in for help in learning how to tell the difference. Between anxiety and intuition in terms of a D, h d and autism of I don't have any. I don't have any knowledge of that. I'm sorry. What about servants? Do they tend to pick this up a little quicker than people who aren't Well, it depends on what kind of savant they are, You know, as we go back to say, rain man that movie with Dustin Hoffman. A lot of savants have like eidetic imagery. In other words, they they have perfect recall of like by sequences of numbers, for example. But then they're also savants who are brilliant inventors. And I think anything that involves design research and design. Anything that involves, um you know, and a breakthrough. In terms of a new composition or work of art. Anything that hasn't been done before. That kind of survived is definitely working with intuitive intelligence. Let's go to Roger driving near Chicago. Hello, Raj. Go ahead. Raj still with us? Nope. He's not there. It's tried. Joe Long Island, New York. Hey, Joseph. Go ahead, Couple questions, first meditation and drains on the medication. Sometimes you cannot off or you're doing that and have a train that maybe that is more significance. But even if you don't fall asleep, I'm wondering if there is Overlap on pre cognitive material between meditation and drains, Possibly Or that you could derive pre cognitive information just out of the meditation alone. And then on the dreams. A couple of things I'm thinking about one is some trains seemed to be plausible to you where it seems reality base except as an element of two that's introduce that seems Not plausible. And then you know, sometimes you have strangers that might have a characterization that you share with them. But also sometimes strangers are In the distance or in close proximity. I'm wondering if that's uh something significant. And that he got the recurring, annoying, recurring dream that George has mentioned he had about his studies. And your question is, Uh, yeah. Uh, just about the demonstration aspects of a dream where it seems to be demonstrating front thing about you or about a situation. That otherwise just you couldn't really choreograph consciously. Well, I think that's absolutely true. You know, our dreams are helping us to work through, you know, issues and conflicts and and relationships. Um, but when I work when I do dream work with people we work on the model. It says that every symbol in the dream represents a part of yourself. And so, you know, only dream about strangers, whether they're close to us are far away. It would represent aspects of ourselves that we're not in touch with during our waking life, and the dream is bringing them to our attention. That's why it can be very helpful. If you have recurring dreams to kind of Not necessarily right down the whole dream. But write down two or three key words when you wake up or if you wake up in the middle of the night, you know, jot down a few key words and you'll notice if you're of dreaming. If you're having recurring dreams about specific types of strangers, for example, or or specific types of people, maybe angry people are happy people or People riding bicycles, for example, or cats who turn into people. All of these represent aspects of ourselves that we can get to know through doing some active dream interpretation. And the big question. Laurie is how does it work? Hot as pre cognitive dreams work?.

"Of course the great met fan and great football guy for NFL network's Steve tracks all the format the former Chicago called the man who is the S. trac soul yes ma'am it is game what's that they played you play the Phillies in Philadelphia okay okay okay it's citizens bank and I want to say it was Xavier Nady who hit this bomb to centerfield Baron Roland that's to say that it's the guy made the catch may the cat it was I I think was only a five minute game but he got out after five innings I don't I don't I don't they wanted I forget how to add it I don't have the but I do remember that like right now you remember Steve tracks alive from that whole game you know I know but that's funny that you remember him just because you remember him throwing the pitch to well no because he didn't throw the pitches role in making the catch yeah yeah but I figured out what was the outcome attacking it was a rain shortened game and I'm not sure if there was ever an outcome I die for some reason I don't think there was an outcome but I look it up was look it up it was relatively early in the season and I do remember that play because it was incredible catch by Erin row Erin was all from Mendis defensive plan was yes it definitely was so here it is you know what there was a result the Mets lost the game to nothing tune up and it was a five inning game which I hate hi I was on two five at exit eight then the rain came definitely yes so it's a double complete game because the tracks will push for innings and Gavin Floyd was the pitcher for Philadelphia what year what year is this it was six was the year they want to do is X. okay it was six okay yeah M. F. actually wasn't terrible it will lose tracks is nobody else's he won fifteen games are like a mid for you are able to get you the exact numbers tracks it was interesting in that when he came over and I think this is certainly something to bring up he was terrible he was just awful right out of the gate anything yet you put a self down yes which is started actually sent them down to the minor leagues which at that point in his career he had to agree to we could just do it I could just couldn't do it and then he came back he was actually very solid so that year in on one his first year ended up finishing the year eleven and thirteen with a four and a half the array the following year one eleven games had a three three seventy R. A. in thirty starts a year after that sixteen and ten with a three seventy eighty are in thirty three starts two thousand and four thirty three starts two hundred innings and even four ERA and sixty are you talk about he actually one fifteen and eight with a four nine seventy R. A. and made thirty starts so we ended up having a decent met career after getting off to their best start ever even if he was elected six years that's it was a long time yeah he was there between one oh six right so he spent six years with the Mets right he bridges the kind of the two good teams they had in that era you know kind of the you know piazza to you know David and raising those guys yes so god willing we have Beltran yes indeed and when he was with Chicago in that ninety eight year he's the one who pitched a one game playoff against the San Francisco Giants right and pitched well but six scoreless innings in that game and he was an interesting picture Drexel well yes and then the other thing is and again we'll have to bring this up with them is why and it is a good reason Joe why did it take an hour and a half in between pitches well actually at the UMaine rain delay or go with what they called it down without human cardinal was my car right right right but you know what I'll I'll say this about Steve tracks nowadays in baseball and I've noticed this a lot more by DVR in games everybody works slowly especially relievers and I think that's one of the biggest problems the sport has yeah is that the case of pay is slow because of that because pitchers take especially relievers so long in between pitches yeah and slow the game down here nine in a row let's go to dog he's calling from Long Island Hey Doug Doug how are you L. as what's going on what's up doc I work over the baseball but I I just two things real quick before the baseball is there than would normally just keep in mind will conserve also right well done you know I don't they are they are building the the construction is continuing so that's the positive sign and I'm arranging and one of the worst thing that happened to me in school most of the fans running around as well as the Coliseum that was all only don't be evil yeah then you go to those games don't you know great atmosphere was all it was it was looking like tell you two things I want I had no intention another one and it all came back about fifty games in nineteen the unbelievable exes he did it what would I would guess the rock battles the smoke and the mavs I could be wrong well I thought it was in Texas I don't actually did in Texas again what if there's a lot of practice with that that will turn around the economy and nobody could stop visible light yep thanks for your call was there but the price yet a watched pot not king was as good a score in at that two year period but all king was unstoppable you know I eighty three eighty four eighty four eighty five until he got hurt but I can't was pretty much unstoppable that exceeded a great score in San Antonio and then the very next night in Dallas that's what it was okay I do want to back to back bowl games in Texas San Antonio and Dallas right I hope to his point and there's no way to know until we're in the arena that Belmont can help recreate that atmosphere that we've seen at Nassau Coliseum and sometimes it's tough to do because when you go into these new stadiums new arenas whether it's the new Yankee Stadium Citi field it's it's never the same but hopefully it can be close because the old barn at Nassau Coliseum would get as loud as any arena or stadium you could ever being in yeah great atmosphere great Bob is in comac Hey Bob thought how are you Hey guys how are you so listen long con mats and and Jed spanned and Joe couple years younger than you but I heard something on Palmer this morning an NGO that I could not believe and nothing surprises me with and that management and the ownership they are actually giving refunds back to the season ticket holders on a monthly basis that is true I can confirm that Bob well what I don't understand is that your negotiating a contract with the players that you're not going to have fans the whole year and yet as a fan and I used to be a season ticket all like that you have to wait on a monthly basis now get your money about this only proves that it's not a reason why what the bands banks of baseball in general and I'm going to give you an example I'm a jets fan and when I go online stopping for information about my sports teams where do I always go I go to the jets I could care less about the Mets and Matt should be playing earlier than the jets and this is part of the overall problem with this what I don't know how the Yankees are doing it but I think that you're doing it I'll tell you this Bob they're doing it the same way the Yankees and the Mets and I can't say every team in baseball I know you're a monthly refund on your season tickets right now as you say and if it's by month so right now so they're sending you a check right now it's the same rate no it's not that easy so here's how it works you have the choice to go get complete refunds from the games in may you fill out a form and you say I want my money back right I'll give you your money back or they try to make you a deal where they'll give you twenty percent of that money in credit for next season if they can hold on to your money.

"Thirty W. I. S. center of the table for a final question through which this is a philosophical thing for the casual golfer should the ultimate goal be to play better or just to have fun our plane better is having fun true but the it may not be the number that you put on the card or maybe it's just plain more good shots or maybe plan less poor shots I mean the fun comes with very small victories in this game I think well I will get into this next week just let me insert some here my definition of fun on the golf course I love to play well and can be frustrating when you don't but there's other upsides to it to enter the relaxation and serenity in the beauty of the whole thing so that that to me is fun what what say you average player play better have fun if if those are mutually exclusive I think they have fun by playing better but when they played better they see their handicap go down and they don't like that because that means you're gonna be giving up a couple extra pops to their bodies so I would say the average golfer and morning star does not want to see their handicap go down but yet they want to play good events the card but I don't think he entered the living call this and that yeah they they want to play good in advance events but they don't want their handicap to go too far down what do you think you've dealt with a lot of common players that you see on the instruction T. play better or have fun well I think like for said the better you play the more fun I think you have but yeah go on have funny you talked about you know relieving some stress some guys I think give more stress out on the golf course without question little you know it's a place to relax let the stress out laugh with your body's enjoy your day I don't think about anything else yeah yeah if you shoot eighty or if you should honor Nady just you know and enjoy your buddies that'll do it for this edition of the swing Dr and we invite you to come back next Saturday as Saturday excuse me Sunday afternoon we'll do it all again your news talk eleven thirty WISN.

S. A. in T. and T. like Shawshank redemption and green mile cream on I've. I've seen the movie deals he's just been TV deals it's just yeah we're intercede ludicrous amounts of money spent on these the broadcast rights these old exclusive broadcast rights these old TV shows I just find it fascinating. does that also say something interesting about the state of. just sit coms today yeah I I'm I'm not watching anything new I was so sick cons are dead yeah it really kind of Orli boasted it's actually interesting your two most powerful like movie at movie and TV vehicles of like the nineties Nady sitcoms and rom coms you pretty much can't make anymore and when when I say sit com that's you know in front of an audience with the laugh track and everything like that I don't think it needs to be I think that's not a motion city office that's a mockumentary what about Arrested Development that is not a sit com I had just situation in which comedy investors to show I just a comedy show I mean what can I agree if that's your definition of a sit com and I think that's dad I think but I'm not even sure if the show that we're talking about the parks and recreation the office the sign fell to the well so I felt that audience and the that's a sit com I so those other shows that we just talked about I'm not even sure this space for those and like even like modern family doesn't have a laugh track but still considers sit com now see I don't yeah I I think it's sick com is the audience that's what I I made wrong I I don't think it I think that's one Williams is shooting a sitcom. but I don't know if it's the only way you never defines it now let's take a break we'll figure this out during the break and after worlds can be joined by Chris park cat from us you know road show talk about the twenty twenty eight Nissan.

"Up? Hey. Doing good Joe. What's on your mind? Know you ask that all around his favorite radio and, and this guy, just jump into my mind. I just wanted to call in and say Barbie, who ESE Brian. Yeah, I know Paul Harvey is easily his you're probably around my age group. Paul Harvey was a very famous radio host and announcer. Back in the back in this basically, in the fifties, sixties and seventies, not so much later icon voice, particularly in the midwest. Because, you know you you asked about it, and as they wait a minute. Brian's a little bit too young for Paul Harvey. I'm not that young. Yeah. Now you are for for Paul Harvey. You are. Well, Joe Joe, listen, my father would drive me to school every day. And I'm talking when I was ten years old started. And he introduced me to Howard Stern, and a lot of people that Paul Harvey's much much earlier than, than how, but I'm just trying to get my story of of why got into radio. I listen to Howard Stern because not because there was all the nudity. And by the way, there's probably more male nudity on the show, these days than female nudity. But that's the side the point I love the way Howard Stern intervals people. Yeah. Okay. Of course radio. I love the way Howard Stern interviews, people I always have I always appreciated his honesty on the air. Yes. He'll call people out on the radio all the time. That's what he does. But when you look at some of the most six, and I'm not saying, I'm one of them, I'm just saying in general, when you look at some of the most successful people in the radio business, they're usually not all them. But most of them go after the guy named Michael Savage, that guy goes after people all the time on the radio Howard Stern. Does the same thing Mark Levin who we love. Yes. Who came on our show, a few weeks ago, very graciously names people idiots all the time. And I like it. Yeah I like it. I know I remember some of the people would call up and they said, you know, they don't agree with you all the time, but they really appreciate the fact that you bought him on. And that's called respect, you know, I think that's all we really have to do this. Remember, everybody, you know, well, saying, it don't matter how different you think we are. We're on actually all the same. And I'll tell you one thing that even more profound is the fact that nobody gets out alive. Well, that's true that you do make a good point there. We don't get out alive. Into sensitive Monday. Call was all by Agyei. His Colorado here is about, you know, hey, we can't get a loan Joe. I appreciate that. Thank you. Thank you, my friend. Thank you, for the phone, call two five seven five three nine six I do times. No, please. Don't say show. Man. It's all about the interaction right Brian. I mean that's part of the show's interaction in the in the combative nature at times at the show gala, it's a big part of L. Absolutely take any call. Just don't say something stupid. That's all we're going to call you on. No, you can say it, but you're not gonna you're gonna end up calling him out speaking, speaking of being called out, OJ Simpson right as I like to refer to him as the double murderer. Okay. I know he was he was not convicted in a court of law, and the buddy was found guilty in the civil suit. And then he goes to jail for this, Palestinian memorabilia thing. Well, guess what? He's back in, in the news, this idiot. So hope that's okay. For some of listeners out there. I call though Jay Nady the hope. That's all right with you guys because he's a wonderful man. But anyway, OJ Simpson just recently did an interview with the Associated Press over the weekend. And he said that his life has entered a phase. He calls the no negative zone. He went on to say, we don't need to go back and relive the worst days of our lives. The subjects of the moment is subject. I will never revisit, again, my family and I have moved on to what we call. No negatives on. We focus on the positives. It's funny. How? They never seem to find the murderer the person who basically beheaded, his ex wife and Ronald Goldman never found that killer seems OJ has stopped looking and that interest. So gee Simpson has found some this inner peace in his body. And he's, he's hitting all these hot yoga spots around Summerlin here in Vegas. Listen to the whole plan right now. He says he loves Vegas. He loves the town says the town's been so good him. Here's what else he said. He says, everybody I need seems to be apologizing for what happened to me here. I would love to talk to one of these buffoons that is going up to OJ Simpson and apologizing to Jason's. First of all, in regards to that memorabilia, thing he was wrong. He went in his friend brought a gun in there. He knew exactly what he was doing. That's kidnapping as far as I'm concerned he was wrong. He deserved the time he got now, what did he have gotten that time if not for the double murders probably not? But with that being said, the evidence in the double murder, and I hate to go back to this was overwhelming man, his footprints were there. His DNA was there if he didn't do it. He was certainly on the scene of the crime. And he knew who did at the very least. And yes, I do think he did it. This man is saying that people in Las Vegas are coming up to him and apologizing to him. Are you kidding me? I would love to talk to somebody like that. Who would go up to? OJ. OJ. I'm so sorry for what happened to you at Palestine OJ? I'm so sorry. You had to go through that, that murder trial. Man. You're, you're an innocent, man. I'm so sorry. Who is he who who do that? I was talking about all the people, whether they be, you know, you know, athletes actors just normal everyday people here in Vegas. That deserves sympathy deserve to be thought of in a way that sympathetic. I have to say, OJ Simpson is not one of them. I, I don't I don't sit around and think to myself, you know what the juice got screwed over man. It's real. He got railroaded. You guys it was he was a break for OJ that he had guy in the pokey because of Palestinian. I don't see it. I don't feel it and let me tell you something. I don't think there is a wave of sympathy out there for like OJ Simpson. Poor guy, you know, she's Pitie pity him what, you know what we should feel sorry for we should feel sorry for the Goldman family and his ex wife and that family. Now it brought some the Simpson family. Absolutely. And her family. You still have to live to this day with the horror, then went on what's OJ days. I know he hangs out in the wine bars and summer. Lenny talk, as around, he plays actually hit. He not hit during the football season. I believe the Buffalo Bills are played a playoff game. He was rolling and hanging out down at the Buffalo Bills bar down by my house over off of Decatur desert in. He was hanging out the hope of Buffalo Bills bar down there and people are out there, taking I what, what's your thought on this, Brian? N J D And Lee. What do you guys think about this whole taken a picture with OJ Simpson? And putting it on social flip them off. I mean I I don't understand it. I mean, there is there is, you know, the thought of what OJ is a person. I'll tell you what I would do. I could not imagine. I'll tell you what I would do not just taking the picture. But then also putting that on social media like you're proud of it. I would I would tell somebody to take a picture, and I would flip them off in the picture, just for just for fun. And I would hope that he would say something to me. And if somebody took a video. Look at them and say you are a murderer you should be shamed yourself. What's he gonna do slugged me? He'll go back good. He goes back to jail. He better kill me. He's going to go back to jail. I would flip them off because he is not a human being is, as far as I'm concerned, he's an animal, okay? He is far as I'm concerned there's no question without shadow of doubt in my opinion, if not for that racist Furman and the horrible back then. L A. Totally screwed that case up Marcia Clark and Darden were a joke. Okay. Now with that being said, OJ had some great attorneys, Johnny Cochran. If it doesn't fit, you must acquit Robert Shapiro. Another fantastic. Attorney Bailey, you know all these guys. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly courtesy, another fantastic attorney. There's no doubt in my mind that he committed those murders. And if I went up to him, I would say that. And if you people don't like it, though us phone due to the court of law, fine. You wanna give us a call and defend OJ Simpson. Please do that. By the way we don't hundred percent. He was a wife beater. We know that we know that he beat her repeatedly on a number of occasions. What would you call man? Who does that a man who puts his hand on a woman, and beats a woman what would you call, somebody like that number to call to five seven five three nine six again that number to call seven two two five seven five three nine six. Let's go to Roberto, Roberto. What's up, how you doing doing what's on your mind? The funniest thing that happened all day one day that some walked up to him. And she goes, I always wanted to shake the hand over murder. I saw that. Look Roberto Roberto. I saw that on YouTube. And I gotta tell you, I give that woman so much respect for doing that. And I wish more people go up to do that. I don't want this. You know, unfortunately his ex wife and Ronald Goldman are dead. But I don't want him to ever forget, I hope somebody goes up to him every single day. We're does that Roberto? What do you make of him saying that he says that Vegas people are coming up to him everyday apologizing to him for what happened, do you believe that because I don't I live here, begging for thirty five years, and I don't think I would be surprised if it did. I think he's a liar. But, you know, he's been lying his whole life, so that, that wouldn't surprise me if he was lying again. Is it possible that maybe one or two football fans went up to him and said that yeah? I guess that's possible idiots. Did that. But I think in general. Yeah. Maybe where to get drunk possibly wasn't a true, though. Do you remember this story? Roberto, we're OJ tried to sue the cosmopolitan for like seven figures or something because they throw them out, because they claimed he was intoxicated. Whatever happened to that. That story came out about a year ago. Yeah. I never we never heard anything about it. Obviously, the charge was, I, I would assume the lawsuit was dropped. Yeah. All right. Roberto, thanks for the call. I appreciate it. Thanks for the call per two to five seven five, three nine six number to call against two to five seven five three nights talking about OJ. I'll tell you what I wanna do to when we get back because this was really a story that. I want to say it hit home to me, but I grew up a Boston Red Sox fan. Yep. Okay. I grew up in Connecticut. And I, I grew up a SOX fan and I had a chance to catch David Ortiz. Hit number four hundred in Oakland. This story that came out yesterday. Scary stuff man David Ortiz lucky to be alive today. We'll talk about that sharpen bureau, along with Chris win in studio. Take a quick.

"The ballpark that night, maybe wouldn't clinch on this particular night, but they had to division title well in hand. And so it was just a matter of time before they seal championship. Get ready to play the division series fields. Each game was not only of the step toward. Clinching? But also feeding the roster up for two postseason. Well, the dodgers are going to take on the reds in Cincinnati, and our old friend. Matt Lehto is going to go for Cincinnati. And he's actually going to help out the giants on this night. But Chris, let's look at the line of toys a lot of fun to do that. This is for the Padres to north Forsyth Headley Guzman Alonzo Mabon Parana, oh Baker and Andrew Warner is the pitcher and here the giants. This Christmas is only twenty twelve not that long ago. Begotten center scooter, oh who comes over that year has an amazing second half of the season. Sandoval Posey Pence Xavier Nady and left belt Crawford and Bumgarner what a lineup. Let's get going forty two thousand four hundred eighteen in the park, and it is a Saturday night. And Chris as you said the place is rocking in the San Diego. First Padres, get a run Headley knocks into North Korea. And the Padres are up one to nothing. Giants strike back right away begun with a walk scooter, oh with a Basit Sandovol walks to load them up. And this is good baseball. Posey and Pence sacrifice flies and the giants are up to two one. We go to the giants. Second belt gets a double. Bumgarner gets a base hit giants up three to one giants in the fourth. And boy, Chris just think back to these days of the way, they played belt with a walk Crawford with a single. Bumgarner lays down the perfect sacrifice begun groundout.

"Need a heel if you need a wrestling villain in your division. Manny Machado is not a bad one. I feel like the Padres frequently are a team that produces good villains for the San Francisco Giants in the other the other case that brisby made was that a young poet now out of the NFL, western Cincinnati. The baseball gods felt that there was an imbalance of hatred. So they had to throw back into the NFL west. But he talks about how the giants have been through this with the Padres before where the Padres routine back in the early two thousands. And I remember this. This is right in the heart of my childhood. When we thought that they had prospects at every single position, Sean Burroughs at third base at Xavier Nady, Josh Barfield, the second baseman Khalil Greene. The shortstop Dennis Tankersley. They had a bunch of prospects. They had Jake Peavy who came up at one young man, he sort of tongue in cheek says, debris. Be I felt like bocce was going to get the World Series ring with the help of Jake Peavy. And he was sorta right? I mean, he did it just wasn't down in San Diego. It was here in here in San Francisco. So we've seen this before with the Padres. But you've got to pay attention because this is team now that they've added Manny Machado, and by the way for the last two off seasons up to this point right now, the Padres have have spent the most money on any individual contract last year. They got Eric hosmer. And everybody went that's odd. The Padres are still two or three years away from even having their their bid talented young prospects in the bigs. And then all they did last year was going acquire more. They traded their closer left-handed pitcher Brad hand, they shipped them off to Cleveland for a top three pitch or catching prospect in all of baseball in franscisco Bahia. He's a Padre made a September. Call up last year. They didn't have the third overall pick in the draft last year. They went out, and he took a left handed pitcher named MacKenzie. Gore who had a couple of good a few good outings last year in the minors pitched in low A and high as expected to start the season in AA MacKenzie gore, though, still a couple years away a starting pitcher lefty, but you take a look at the Padres system. They've got nine prospects in their top one hundred. So the question is what is worth it. If you get one World Series championship as as a franchise like the Padres who have no championships in their history. If you get one World Series in the Manny Machado contract was it worth the three hundred billion dollars. I've got to believe it was I actually had this debate. Or this argument on Sunday night, Saturday night with medium impact, Brian. I get a text I actually had fall asleep. I get a text I wake up in the middle of the night. It says, hey, I'm in an argument with what buddy is was the Perez contract worth right? Say it wasn't. And I said one hundred percent. It was worth the giants. Don't win in two thousand twelve without Barry Zito, don't kill my dreams. Don't kill my drinks. Barry Zito to World Series championships in a six year run as the quote ace of the staff, and he wasn't the staff my whole problem with that or my theory on that is my sorry. My line of thinking on that is does it matter where the money's allocated. If you win championships every team that spending money on big contracts is doing so to win a title your trading prospects to win a title. Everybody says, well, you shouldn't trade that prospect. He's going to be great for us for another decade. But if you trade the prospect and you win the World Series. Then that's what it was for those matters. Nothing else matters. You get value out of your. Players. You get value out of your roster. Doesn't matter..

But the, you know, the the depth is really what I'm what I'm referring to and the further the further, the depth three churches the darker. Of course, it gets for us standing out here. So so I really I I knew that that. If I can. Contribute at all. It would be via understanding the man. Wanda the character war Quinton both. Being the movie. Yeah. Was the first thing you shop the opening scene of that. Unbelievable logically. The drive up to the house. I mean, I it's. Yeah. You've heard every. Yeah. But there it is. That's exactly what I'm saying. I can I can do whatever, you know. And and and take classes with with. I dunno cesspits herself on them. In if if. I don't have. The opportunity. Meaning if I don't have. That script right that defined and encircle the actually actual. Point focusing topic for me. Meaning if I'm not congregate which with what's on that page. And if what's on that page is banal and flattened silly and dispensable, right? Then I have no chance especially I talked to many actors, especially with respect to comedies. But maybe it's now Sally dipped into others onerous to of this reliance on improv. In recent years, and has it really worked. I would argue in some specific cases I, but generally speaking, I agree with you. It's a it's a it's a it's a crutch it's a shortcut to something. That's doesn't work as a crutch, by the way, if you if you run into an an Unser mount obstacle during rehearsal. And then you improvise around it to get it going to dishonor to potentially. Yes. Great a tool, or if you go to an improv show where the very purpose the end all be all is that. Yes. Admiring the flexibility and imagination and spontaneous spent the Nady of the performance from tastic. Yeah. In if we have. We have a script, you know. That's it. Right. Right. And if you have a script like Clinton's. You'd be really stupid and who start. Improvising. The hubris of an actor to think that they can improve on that. Exactly, good luck. You certainly approached your seemingly like you were making up for lost time in the decade since I mean, just look at them filmmakers worked with rattle off of you out center paying some burden. Polanski Terry Gilliam Mendez. I mean, these are the best of the best. Plan ski for instance, who is fascinating filmmaker and you worked with him on carnage. Of course, and is from all right from from all counts. Meticulous. Filmmaker meticulous is not the right. Tell me. What's the right word Pethick? Perfect is the only word that describes it. Reversal was involved. Very rare nowadays. Yeah. Yeah. But very much your speed. It sounds like in terms of his French testing. It's it's really the last grand master and the the grandmaster the mass of grandmasters. At the. Look, I don't even like a free movie that he made. And that's not what I mean. But. His making. Is perfect. Yeah. It's it's. You you've never seen anything like it, nor have you experienced and not everybody takes to right? You heard stories short and not everybody. It's not for everybody. This kind of perfection. And you know, you could course, rightly argue. Well, I mean, you know, all the movie, and is really required and that. That's not the question. I mean, not from me. Right. I wonder I bring it up all the time like someone like Polanski and bring it up with actors who have or haven't worked with him like the fincher test. Like, I wonder and I feel like you could be someone that would fit into his meticulousness perfection, whatever you wanna call it attention to detail precision. Absolutely. Yeah. And thinking, right. The man thinks precisely like like you've never seen anyone, you know, really analyze and really follow logic. And. Precise. Thinking is is is a good thing. It's back it up. Yeah. To and then I think of someone much different who he's been here as well. Like, I think of I think it's harder Gilliam I think kind of anarchy of of play. So you we you enjoy play. "So to me we met her someone by the length of their career, but especially October and this guy for what he did as good as anybody in October. We're having a discussion Tom before the show has any athlete done more with like one thing. You know, the fact that Mariana through the Connor and nobody could figure it out for two decades. I said Kareem skyhook I feel like there. There are not many athletes. A lotta times you're forced to reinvent yourself over and over again, he he didn't have to his self was just so lights out. If he does not get in unanimously does that matter to you. It doesn't matter to me Maggie. But I'm hoping that he is because then we can really kind of put this thing behind us. It's sort of a trivia question. Anyway know Griffey came within three votes of big unanimous. We still don't know, by the way, the three writers who did not vote for Ken Griffey junior. And listen, I don't see there's any reason why you shouldn't vote for Marian Rivera. He should be unanimous. I'm hoping that he is. So that we can just kind of put this to bed. I realized voting has changed over the years, and you know, demodulators mandolin, Barron, all these guys weren't unanimous. That's for a lot of variety of reasons that really don't apply today. So it's really not important to me other than let's just be done with it. So you don't have to keep talking about it. Because if we don't we'll be talking about it next year with Derek jeeter. What what's remarkable to me? Tom is that I don't think we all realize how special it is for him to be getting in today because it's not often that you get someone who unquestionably did their job. Better than anybody else. And there's so little debate about it. I could not find you a person today that will tell you that there was a better closer in the history of the game. I'm glad you said that Chris because you know, it's probably not good for sports talk radio. Because a lot of what you guys do what we enjoy listening to is about sports debate. Right, right. We'd love that. But I agree with you look around any sport, you know, finally, somebody their positions their job who is unquestionably in arguably, I would argue the best at what he did. And if there's anybody else, it's a very short list. But certainly, I think that's true in baseball. I don't think there's anybody at another position in terms of what their job description was who's unquestionably. The best the way that Marianna was. One thing I've always wondered about we always used to hear the stories about how Dennis Eckersley never left his locker after game one of the eighty eight World Series until every question was answered house Marianna after two thousand one in game seven, well, I was there in both of those cases and after both lockers Atkin Nady eight and Marianne in two thousand one and the same way. I mean, you're talking about waves and waves. Think about how difficult that is. Right. I mean, it's hard enough after the this championship. There's not like there's no tomorrow. You lot game seven of the World Series. How hard it is in the immediacy of it. There's really not a cooling off period. You're in there. A couple of minutes after the ball just landed in the outfield just to answer one round of questioning takes a lot right? And then just think about waves and waves because there's five hundred people trying to get to your locker, and they can't all here at the same time and Marianna the enemy of class just took it. I mean, he never lost patience. I I don't know that anybody left without getting the Nassar from now the answer probably stayed the same throughout the night. But I'm telling you, it's not a surprise, given everything we know about how classy this guy is. But again, that's when you find out the real measure of a man when things don't go well, and especially when you have to be so accountable, and I put Marianna up there with just about anybody. We're talking to Tom Verduci, the network coverage MLB network hall of fame. Coverage starts at three o'clock, you mentioned about the unanimous decision salmon, and hopefully he gets in just to put this all behind us..
