"On different. This is normally a you me and John problem. This is always, we gotta wrangle John from the east coast and figure it out for us West Coast boys, but here I am on the east coast, creating all the problems that John hayman creates on this show. Yeah, the connectivity could be a little bit of an issue with an east coaster and a west coaster, but we've made it work this week. Let's start with our pools. Reach the milestone. It gets to 700. He does it and only an Albert Pujols machine type of way. Two homers, same night, in Los Angeles, this is, in my opinion, the best right handed hitter that I have ever seen. He's top two. He's top two in my book in terms of just a hitter. But what a milestone. I mean, it's 700. Four people in the history of the game. You know what, I'll go 5 people. Let's throw sada or O on there too from Japan as well, who also hit like 800 career home runs. But outside of that, I mean, I also think we should talk about Josh Gibson and all the home runs he hit as well, but like, this is such an elite of an elite of an elite of an elite group. I mean, this isn't even Hall of Fame. This is a subsect of Hall of Fame. Like I have a coat. I have a co host on the card show, Craig carton who makes the joke all the time, that Babe Ruth never existed. He's a folk hero, like Paul bunyan. It's not a real thing. And of course you think that. All the things we ever heard about Babe Ruth her whole life. Like, that can't be real. And it is real. We've watched it with Albert Pujols, all for the last 20 years. And if you were not excited about it, basically I think Dave Roberts reaction to home run number two that night. Says

"Stole atomic secrets and gave them to the Soviets. Meet the woman whose deception kick started the Cold War on the spy who stole the atom bomb, and what if they catch you? Then I shall be shot. Come back. Relive history's most death defying escapes. It's impossible escapes, Civil War, watch now on CuriosityStream, and will plans her $20 just a dollar 67 a month is in CuriosityStream dot com. Yeah. Well, here's the other thing. This is the thing that we and I have been seeing on the brewers all along. We know what they're pitching is. But here's the problem with that pitching. If that pitching gets hurt, what are they left with? Because they're offense, again, and I'm going to use this term that I've used AD nauseum all season along. The brewers offense is ancient. It is an old old team. It doesn't mean they're a bad team. It's just, we're just a little aged out and the young players, I do really like hunter Renfro. I like rowdy teles. Unfortunately, though, you can't have these two carrying your offense. You need a little bit more. Looking at a guy like Escobar who's doing so well over there in New York with the mets right now. Thinking what could have been if that guy was still there. Thinking about like a Sterling Marte who's out there who could have been on this team. I mean, they had so many opportunities to pick up players. I wouldn't be surprised though. Come trade deadline. I'm going to call it right now. Nelly Cruz is going to be a brewer. Okay. Listen, they certainly could use the pop in the lineup. Especially in that DH spot, right now, you have kind of a toggle between Yelich and mccutcheon doing the DHA, which is a problem because Yelich is hitting two 20 and just hasn't gotten back to any semblance of the MVP. And where he was. Let's be honest. That's what the offense really was. He was the heartbeat of that offense. And you notice their offense hasn't been the same. It's really since he hasn't been the same. So it was contingent on that all on. They have some nice junkies. I like Louis 40th in that lineup. He does a good job for that ball club. They're missing Willie dumps right now. He was the piece last year that propelled that offense. He got out of temple. He came to Milwaukee. He's been plagued by an ankle injury. So they don't have him and they don't have the two starters Peralta and Wilmer in that in that rotation. It's already going to be a little bit of an issue. So cardinals are clicking on all syllables, right? They are. They've been coming all along. But they've got a ton of town, man. That Carl whether it's Carlson and Bader and O'Neil. I haven't checked in on O'Neill. He's starting to hit yet. He started to come along. I mean, he was a little banged up, and I know he just got off the IL, right? And now he's kind of starting to put it together. I saw him. I saw him muscle a ball on Saturday. That was looked like a broken bed off the end of the bat, and it was a sac fly that was almost robbed for a home run. That guy is ungodly strong. And now he's strong. He runs like a free safety. I know. Dude, he is built. Like a, you know what he's built like? He's been like, I'm trying to think of a good running back that he reminds me, 'cause he's not a tall dude. He's gotta be what? 5 ten, but he's built like just excuse the phrase, but I'm gonna say a brick shit out of this guy. The guy looks like a combination of a he looks like Ricky Williams. Yeah, good. Yeah, yeah, yeah, like he's like a bowling ball. He's like, yeah. He's like a bowling ball, but super athletic. I really enjoy watching, you know, I'm an outfield junkie. I like watching those three guys in the outfield Vader plays balls to the wall. The whole time. And, you know, they got a ton of talent. Besides a point, and they got the veterans on that team that can kind of guide the ship, right? Wayne Wright, Molina, pooh hole, like the old three, the old band is back together. They're playing really well. And they were the favorites coming in they're starting to play like the favorites now. As they start to get healthy.

"I would think so too. And again, with this, with this division, the way they're starting to play now, I think the Phillies aren't real. I'm just going to put it out there again. I do not believe in the Phillies. They're pitching in defense is just not good enough. Their offense as good as anybody in baseball, especially when they're hot. But I'm not worried about the Phillies. I am very worried about the braves. The braves are good, even without Ozzy albies. Again, this is a team that won the World Series last year without Ronald lacuna junior. They have around really cool new zoom. They also have a Freddie Freeman clone at first base who happens to be 5 years younger than Freddie fleeman Freeman in Olson. This is just an unbelievably good team, not to mention their entire starting staff, max fried looking like looking like the Cy Young finalist that he's going to be, not to mention, you know, everybody. It's a murderer's row. It's a glow around. Yeah, throw a rock, it hits an all star. It's tough. I just don't know how you're gonna be able to beat them, and I don't know how them, honestly, I'm looking at this right now, if the mets don't get healthy, I don't know how they're gonna survive the braves, even though they're only, I mean, 5 and a half back is a lot of games. It doesn't feel like a lot of games right now. No. It doesn't feel like a lot of games, you're talking about the second about the second half of the season when they get to Grom. Insures are back. I mean, 5 and a half games can be eaten up in that amount of time. If they're not back at some point. So we'll see how it goes in terms of the Phillies. Yes, they won ten of 11. Yes, it was right after Joe Girardi got fired. But as you say, Cody, their problem still remain, right? They don't play any D, or I should say, they have a hard time playing D they don't pitch after the starters really well at all. And those problems still remain to be true. And listen, I caution everybody about those ten of 11 that they want because they've been some teams that quite frankly, they should be. I mean, they lost two of three to the giant. The last game they won, that started the 9 game street. They proceeded to pay the angels who hadn't fired Joe Mann at the Joe mad at that time. So they were playing poorly. The brewers are missing two of their best starting pitching rotation, guys. And Peralta and Woodward. And they're not hitting. And they're not hitting at all. So they played a team that really wasn't that they got three wins against two of three wins against the Diamondbacks. And they beat the Marlins in last night's game. So I don't know that they're necessarily beating up on teams that are like postseason bound, but I never let you give them credit for winning the ten 11, but as you said, I don't believe it's real. Now, on this side of firing managers, right? We've seen Joe mango. We've seen Joe Girardi go. And we've seen their teams at the same time start playing better. What do you think the white socks are thinking right now? I know what the white sock fans are thinking. I know. I'm sure I know what yeah, I'm sure I know what some of the players are thinking. But here's what the end of the day is. What is the owner Jerry reinsdorf thinking? Because the owner Jerry reinsdorf only loves one thing and that is Tony La Russa. He already, listen, when he hired Tony La Russa, we already knew the direct quote saying that firing him was the greatest mistake of his career. You think he's gonna go ahead and double down and fire him again? I would, but I don't think he's gonna. I don't think so. I don't think so. They got a ton of problems. They're not healthy. They're not playing well on top of that. And we'll see how this shakes out. I don't think this ends with totally the rules would be a fire. Me neither. And Tony, there's also the fact like, everyone seems to think that firing Tony La Russa is going to be the cure all. Who's to say it is. Look at the angels. The angels aren't playing great with Phil Nevin at the hill. It's just, this is, it's a lofty thing. I'm sure you've been a part of teams where a manager has been fired midseason. I have as well. It can go either way. It truly, truly can. It doesn't mean the manager replacing initial manager isn't perfectly capable and good. It's just, it's a weird dichotomy depending on the team. Right. There's so many variables that go into winning ball games. When I was in Milwaukee in O 8, we fired dead yost with 14 games to go. And we went, I think we went 7 and 7 with Dale schwein as our manager. We snuck into the playoffs, but it wasn't like we went out and went 14 and O and everything changed. We just did it. We did a little bit better which allowed us to get into the playoffs, which at the time was the most important thing, but you're right. It doesn't necessarily really, most of the time it doesn't change a whole lot other than maybe the voice. Now, you talked a little bit about the cardinals and the brewers. We've talked about them in the past and I believe it was you that said they were coming. We both felt like the Saint Louis Cardinals were going to be there when it's all said and done. Well, they copped the brewers, brewers are a little banged up. They're not hitting cardinals are starting to do everything. And they're about to get Jack flaherty back. Do more of what you love. "The hunters are finally struck and, you know, Bueller's gonna miss significant time and sounds like Kershaw's just coming back offense is kind of, I don't want to say it's slowed down, but they're not clicking on also right now. Not sure what's going on, but you know how these dog days can get when these little things can happen. I mean, we agree the Dodgers are going to be fine. I'd be shocked, shocked if they're not fine. However, I don't think it's a foregone conclusion that the team is going to win the NL west anymore. In fact, for the last week and a half on all my gambling shows, I've been telling people to take out a little sprinkle on the NL west futures on the Padres. They got a better pitching staff. They got a comparable bullpen, and they have an offense that honestly can go toe to toe with this team. And they're gonna get Fernando Tatís Jr. back. Dude, I don't know. I think it might be worth the sprinkle a little bit on the pods. I think the Padres, I remember last year we at the beginning of the year, we were talking about the Padres finally being the team we were wanting them to be. They finally are, they're finally that. They're finally that team. This year is the year 2022. This padre team is a legitimate World Series contender. Joe musgrove is a legitimate contender. Manny Machado is a legitimate MVP contender. I mean, there is nothing wrong with this team at the moment. Even the players that the fans have been after for years like a Hosmer has been holding it together a little bit. Now he struggled the last hundred at bats, but overall on the year, Hosmer has been having a pretty decent year. I mean, this is a pretty damn good baseball team and you have the luxury of seeing him every day. Yeah, this is a special. You knew last year, even as we watched and they were playing really well. You just knew that it couldn't sustain if the starting pitching didn't start to pitch better. And that never came to be true, like they struggled. At some points, I don't know how it finished, but I know in deep August, the bullpen and throw more innings than the starting pitching at. And that's, as you know, that's not survivable. I was surprised to both in held together as long as they did. They didn't really start leaking until September. So the fact that now you got the podcast among the best starting rotation in the league. I think they have the most quality starts in baseball. You Darvish throws another 8 innings of one run ball yesterday. It's his third consecutive start of 7 or more. And that's like the norm for this rotation. That just you darvis and Joe musgrove up and down. They've had injuries to snow, must grow, excuse me. Clevenger has been injured. He's now in the COVID IL. So they haven't even been full. We already mentioned tattoos junior not having played one game this season, yet they're coming to tonight's game tied for first place with the Dodgers. So this team is for real. And I think you bring up a good point about the Dodgers and possibly them that went in a nationally quest. I don't know about you, but it seemed like the race that they had with the Giants last year took its toll at the very end, right? Because they were both dogging for that national league west title. Giants end up winning, those are argument to me made that both of them sprinted to the finish line and had nothing left come playoff time. Can I make an interesting argument that I just thought of just now? Go for it. Is it even at the moment with the way the playoffs system is laid out? Is it that even worth it to win your division? Because think about it this way, the Dodgers is a team that's been in the playoffs and has gone to the World Series what? How many times in the last 5 years, three times four times? Four times, I think, yeah. My question is, how many extra baseball games? How many extra innings has the Dodgers played over everyone else over these last few years? I know this doesn't seem like much, but they've played an entire almost an entire season more in the last 8 years than any other team it feels like. Facts. And you got to assume it's taking its toll on a Kershaw obviously. It's taken its toll on a Bueller. It's saying it's told maybe on the bodies of like a Muncie who's struggling right now. And I'm not saying that this is the reason I'm just saying maybe this is playing in a little bit. This is certainly something that I think as we go into this new playoff format that we all should pay attention to. Because the idea when they came up with this new collective bargain was to make to keep the reward for teams that win the division. Well, if your team like the Dodgers that's won the division, however many times they wanted that at this point, is it conducive? And I think the question you have to ask yourself is, are you deep enough from a starting pitching? Or just a pitching pitching in general, right? Because obviously you're not facing one of those teams that wins the thing it's a buy, right? If I remember it. I believe so. And then here's the thing. There's the other thing. In baseball is a buy a good thing because I can make the argument that it might not be. What we've seen teams have long layoffs and it come back to bite them. So I don't know, it's a good I think it's a study case to watch, right? Because we're going to find out because now there's a legitimate buy, right? You are not playing in the first round if you have the best record in your league. So we'll find out over the course of time, but you may be on to something that this is, it could be in team certain teams, not all teams. Certain teams benefit to go ahead and maybe not necessarily push for the division title. Yeah, almost like, go ahead. Yeah, almost like kind of like the Padres idea last year. Remember, we just talked about it. How much they use their bullpen early and then their bullpen fell to pieces and got hurt because they were just overused early on. Yeah. It's almost like you could possibly implement that strategy this year. And it actually benefit you and almost like in basketball terms, you know, like, you know, like, what's the term that they use for players who get pulled out for quarters, like, man, I can't. You know what I'm talking about where they pull them out. It's like a controlling your minutes or whatever. I don't remember the actual term. I have come to me and before we get off the show, like literally right as we're saying goodbye, we're gonna just yell it out loud. Oh my God, it's on the 2.2. But it's like that, you know, you're controlling if you control your pictures innings a little bit and you can be a little clever about it. You know, it might be able to get an extra 5 innings out of certain pictures in the playoffs. Come the end of September type thing, or at the end of October type thing. It's interesting because we just never been in this scenario. We've never seen a buy in Major League Baseball. And the reason why I think it could be detrimental, you know this, Tony, I know this. Going like four extra days without seeing a live picture after seeing live pictures every day. Yeah, it has a serious effect. So during the off days, you gotta see some live pitching. Well, here's my question. What lie pitching you sing? The same pictures on your team? Well then are they actually getting arrested at all if they're pitching live innings at practice? I mean, I'm wondering where are the benefit is? And this is going to be a unique year. It's going to be a unique year and we're going to see unique things, right? Here's my thing in the Padres, bob Melvin has been kind of teasing and he used up. He used Adrian Morty hone in his first start..

"Week of big time baseball, welcome in once again, I'm your host holy wood junior and all of my co host Cody decker and Cody we're getting in the drill, man. This is the time of year where teams start to heart and a little bit. You start to know who these teams really are. First, before we get into the baseball stuff, let's start with kind of the business of baseball, the Orioles. A little few going on between the two brothers, John and Louis angelos. And Lewis is claiming that John, who is the, I guess, the decision maker for the ball club now. Is to go to move his team to Nashville. This comes from misses angelos, who had to sign who's the one who put them in charge. Leave them kind of Lewis outside. He seems a little upset about it. And is claiming that the team is going to move a franchise that is historic in the city of Baltimore. However, John says that that's not the case. What's your take on this? One, I can't imagine it being the case. I think we all I think we can all agree that baseball is eventually going to come to Nashville. They have a triple-A team there right now. They draw exceedingly well. It's a major market and that city does deserve a major league team. So does Baltimore. That team has been there for 50 years and let's not mince words here. The reason why baseball stadiums are as cool as they are is because of Camden yards. Yeah. Period. That was the beginning of what we now know as the modern baseball stadium. I can't imagine Camden yards not being a part of Major League Baseball. I can't imagine the Orioles moving anytime soon. If ever, the one they have a lease with the city, so it's not like they can just break it at any given moment. And yeah, it's not, I just don't think it's reasonable. It seems like a kind of out of left field thing. Baltimore is Baltimore Orioles to just pick up and move. So the immediate response was pretty fascinating. What is happening in Baltimore right now? God, I have no idea, man. This is, this is a family feud that is taking place in public. It's Succession, but real. I love it. Yeah, my read of it. I've read a little bit of the lawsuit that's been put out by Lewis. It seems like he's a little disgruntled that mom didn't put him in charge. And he's trying to connect the dots that because John's wife has family and Nashville that all of a sudden going to move the team from Baltimore to Nashville. There are so many things that are tied in with this in terms of TV rights and things of that nature that don't make this very easy to pull off even if you wanted to, but of course John angel's poor cold water on it yesterday when he basically came out and said, we have no intention of moving. They just built a new practice facility out there, which he says means they're not going anywhere anytime soon. So we'll move on from the business part, get into the baseball part. Go to you and I have been talking about it. It was only a matter of time, braves have run off 12 in a row, this team is now starting to close the gap a little bit on the New York mets. This is the braves team. I think we both thought we'd see from the beginning, but nevertheless, here we are in June, and they're starting to play well. I'm not gonna lie, I'm having a mini panic attack about the mess right now. I want this team in the playoffs more than I think I want anything in the world. I think there's only two teams I'm just almost breaking body parts to root for. And that is the mets and the Mariners. And we all know how it's going in Seattle at the moment. And the mets are just, no matter what, this team knows how to get hurt. I need to grow them back. I need shirts or back McGill came back. That's good news. And luckily, the team is still swinging the bat well and playing well, but Marte goes down. We saw Pete Alonso come out of a game last week. Man, I need the mets not to be snake bitten and watching this braised team go on a juggernaut run the way they are, not to mention a Phillies going on the run they're going right now and another team in the east that I feel like it's no love that deserves some love dude the Marlins. They are, they are a sneaky, good team with that pitching staff. But yeah, you know, the braves, we knew this was coming. We knew they were going to put these games together. We just didn't know when it was going to happen. And luckily for them, it didn't happen in August this time. This time they started their run in June. And again, this is the better team right now than they were that won the World Series last year. Yeah, no, you're absolutely right. For start with the breaks. We saw them twice already. In San Diego, saw them in Atlanta. And it was clear. The only thing that they were missing was their offense. The guys just as a unit had and started swinging the bat as a unit. And that hurt them. They had plenty good enough pitching. But they just weren't hitting. Now they're starting to hit and starting to score runs in abundance. However, they do lose Ozzy albies for about 5, 6 weeks he broke his foot in yesterday's game. So that'll hurt a little bit, but that offense is starting to roll. And I agree with you on the mornings. I've been saying that since I saw them earlier this year, their pitching staff is as good as any pitch of stuff in the league. And that is not an exaggeration. These guys can throw it. I mean, I'll contrast is as electric as any pitcher in this league. I mean, he's throwing, he started falling. He's falling in love with the forcing fastball that's about a hundred, but he also throws a secret that's about a hundred. He's got to change up that moves like a split finger that's about 92. Like there's nothing fun about, I would think, and I've never faced it, but it seems like there's nothing fun about getting in the box with him. But the message, the, they have avoided the offensive injury bug, right? It's all been in their rotation. And they could hold it down because their office was legit, right? But I saw Marte go down. He went down on a slide, kind of tweaked his quad. He hasn't been since. Pete Alonso got hit with like a 94 mph fastball on the hand. He's had the missed time. So sort of you can get those guys back as soon as you can stop the bleeding because, you know, you might be able to sustain with a legitimate offense with a pita Alonzo and starlin Marte and Francisco Lindor and the offensive pieces they have, but you can't sustain that gene with those guys. Peter Lonzo Marte and de Grom ensures are out. That's going to be too big of a hole to kind of overcome, I would think COVID..

"Smart ass on the radio, and my favorite the one, the only Tony Gwynn junior who was much better of a baseball player and much better of a professional smart ass than I am, but he's here with me, slumming it here on big time baseball, as we talk about everything we love, and don't love about the game right now. And Tony, first things first, your pods, man. Love them, love them, love them. How you doing? Man. Good to be with you. As always. They're playing some good ball, man. We just came off that 7 game roadie that started horribly. They get swept in St. Louis. The offense was anemic and then on Thursday, you fly into Milwaukee. Offense wakes up a little bit and then Taylor Rogers has a hard time closing the album brewers walk off and you would think after those four losses, like, oh man, here we go, you've had some three straight bad losses at an M1 heartbreaking loss. And in a bounce back, they win the next 3M Milwaukee. They take three or four, they do two things really well. I think probably as good if not better than everybody else. They start pitching is unbelievable. I mean, they lead the league in quality start. Joe musgrove leading away right now, he's got to be your NL starter in the All-Star Game. And they play defense. They don't make very many mistakes. And then that little short four game skid they had, the one thing they do offensively, if they come up with timely hits. They hadn't been coming up with those in that four game loser streak, but the last three games, you started to see that kind of timely hitting come about. And this is a good team. I don't think they're going anywhere. And my guess is come deadline time. They'll make some moves or whatever moves they feel necessary to help this ballclub. But this team is well managed, they got the right kind of veterans and their locker room. This is a good thing they got going in San Diego right now. Yeah, they do. And they do have the mess. Yeah. Coming in and the mets just had a split a series with the Los Angeles Dodgers. And the mets are banged up a little bit, but they are still a devastatingly good team, one of the best in baseball, but you brought up Joe musgrove, man. And of course, the pods themselves going still kind of going neck to neck with Los Angeles Dodgers, looking at them right now. Pods are 30 and 20, man, 600 winning percentage. There are only three games back of the Dodgers right now, and I mean, we all agree and we all agreed last year as well, that the Dodgers are the very best team in baseball. They're just ridiculous, but hey man, it's not a foregone conclusion that they're gonna win this. In fact, somebody asked me the other day on one of my other shows. If I were to lay down a bet right now, what would I lay down? The Dodgers to win the NL west or the brewers to win the NL central. And everyone's first thought immediately is the Dodgers and also the odds are better for the higher for the Dodgers to win their division, but the brewers are going to win their division by 20 games pretty much it looks like. And the Dodgers might, if they do win the division with the Padres in there, they might only win it by three or four if they're lucky if the Padres don't continue to get healthier and better because the Padres are doing this with Fernando tatis. Listen, I think if you want to make some money, that's certainly the way to go is the brewers. I mean, I think after watching Milwaukee after watching cardinals and back to back series, they're both really, really good teams, but the Bruce started brewers pitching. And by the way, they're doing this banged up as well. I mean, Adam has been out early as his missed some time. Woodward's out right now with an ankle. They've got some injuries on that brewer's ball club and yet they're still finding ways win. I like where you're going with it, the code. I think Milwaukee, although the Dodgers have rained in are probably the best roster in baseball. I still think the brewers are a better bet in order to win a national league central versus what the Dodgers are deal with Dodgers got at least two, three teams in that division that can give them issues in terms of winning the division. Milwaukee really only has the cardinals to deal with. The other three teams in that division are not very good. Yeah, it's just the fact. I mean, look at them. They're the reds. The reds are terrible. The pirates, not great. Not great. It's a two team race. And the Cardinals, I think, are playing above where they really are. They're pitching way above where they've been. I mean, miles Michael is up until his most recent start. Now, miles, Mike, this is a very good picture, but he had a one ERA going into his last start, and he has missed no starts the series. He's been so he's been psy young worthy this season. So it's been a phenomenal year over there in St. Louis as well, but yeah, you guys got to assume the Cardinals have that. I mean, the brewers truly have that division well in his hand. And I do want to bring up another player you mentioned about the Padres, Joe musgrove, man. I said the other day when he was facing Cory burns that this is going to be Joe musgrove's true coming out part. Now, when I say that, he's coming out party was very last year when he threw that no hitter and had an unbelievable season and I've been saying for a while that I think Joe musgrove is the Padres ace and he's been the Padres since he signed I hear no lies. He's currently sitting at plus 600 for the NL Cy Young second best odds against the pitcher that he beat the other night who's currently sitting with plus three 25. Listen, I've been telling people to jump on Joe musgrove for weeks and weeks and weeks. If you don't jump on Joe Musk, if you're a gambling guy at all and you don't jump on Joe musgrove now, you're gonna miss on the boat because he's gonna be the best pitcher in base. Stop gambling. If you're not taking Joe musgrove right now for real. It's a pretty easy grab right now and get a chance to watch this guy every 5th day is nothing short of remarkable the way he goes about it. He's unique from the standpoint is you gonna get his repertoire is 5 pitch, 6 pitch rivers are you gonna get all of it? At any given time. And as a hitter, as you know, Cody, when a pitcher has no fear of throwing any pitch at any time, you can't eliminate anything, and it makes it way, way more difficult as we saw as he took that no hitter into the 8th before coat and Wong doubled off the wall..

"Is with us to discuss the NL east hey and how are you? I am good, thank you for having me. This is a momentous day for all of us, I think, because it marks the end of positional power rankings for Meg. She is finished ranking all of the positions, as I understand it. And it marks the end of our division preview series. And it also marks the end of March Madness for Emma. You've been covering that for the past few weeks. So we have all gotten at something big behind us or we're about to win this episode is over, and that means that baseball is right around the corner. And next time we talk on this podcast, we'll be probably discussing actual Major League Baseball games, which is something that's nice to contemplate given how much had to happen for that to happen, and how unlikely it seemed to happen at certain points. So I'm in a good mood today. Yeah, I mean, I still have to write my positional power ranking summary piece. So if you want to figure out the exact wrong time for Michael conforto site, it's any time between now and tomorrow morning. But barring that, I think that we are in good shape here. And so yeah, I'm excited to have a seasons talk about won't it be nice to have a season. I think it will. Yeah. Emma, how does covering March Madness compare to covering April baseball? It's like the most intense consequential tournament time and then mostly meaningless baseball or at least not meaningless in the long run necessarily, but hard to tell what the meaning is beyond just the happiness that MLP is back. It's a very nice change of pace. I'm happy with the way it worked out with the lockout delay in that two days of downtime and then get to go from what I've fully recovered from everything I saw over the last two weeks. Yes, well I was about to say some really meaningless baseball because I will be at nationals park for opening day, but given that that'll be against the mets and starter to be determined, perhaps not so meaningless. I think it'll at least be interesting. But yeah. How appropriate for our preview today? Exactly. Well, I know that your March Madness was difficult in some respects, as you are at two Columbus, but aside from that, I hope it was satisfying and fun professionally. I don't know how often you've done this before. You unlike us, cover other sports fairly regularly, and we've talked to you a bit about that in the past, but yeah, this is an intense time in college basketball. Something that was fun about this was I was covering the women's final four, so I was in Minneapolis, and that meant I had an off day on the day that duke played and locked a Carolina. And I watched it and it was a pretty small bar there weren't a lot of other people in there, but Gino REM and his family were there. The Yukon women's side coach. And it was a very weird experience to not want to be to emotional and vocal realizing that the coach who would be in the women's championship the next day was like three seats down the bar for me. And neither of us had a good weekend. So yeah, I was gonna say it's very weird. So I guess the only thing that we have to briefly discuss maybe before we get to the NL east is a trade that was made immediately after we finished our AL preview segment, of course, and it was by an ALT and the race who traded Austin Meadows to the tigers for Isaac predators, the infielder and a competitive balance round pick. So I know Ben Clement has written about this for fan graphs and I guess my opinion of it has evolved after the initial they traded who for who? That's like a more established guy who's hit a bunch of homers and Isaac prettiest is not. And I guess as is pretty typical with raised moves, there is always a method to it of some sort and you can sort of understood what they're doing. I mean, we talked on the AL preview episode about their wealth of young infielders. And so now they've added yet another one in parades. And so it might sound sort of strange, although they just immediately replaced Meadows with Josh Lowe, not Lao. So they just have another top prospect, basically at every position. So they jettisoned someone and then they bring in someone who is maybe just as good, if not as well known. Yeah, I think that you can't, you can't view this trade in isolation. It has to be taken in conjunction with the decision to put low on the opening day roster. I Ben, I'm just I'm sorry for you that you now are going to spend at least two seconds before you say either Josh Lowe's name or Brandon Laos name, just thinking which is it because this team just likes to make things difficult for you. Well, at least they made things easier by trading Nathaniel Lowe, which that would have been the low apocalypse, the Lao pacalypse if they had had all three on the same roster. Yes. So I think we have to kind of take all of those things in concert and use that to assess this low was ranked 45th for us on our pre season top 100. So they are putting a well regarded prospect into the mix here, I think that as we were getting ready to record, they also announced an extension for many more go. So I think they have a view of the outfield so that is sort of coming together. I don't want to make light of the fact that there is a very racy part of this, which is that Austin Meadows was preparing to get a little bit more expensive, but he's also been sort of inconsistent from time to time in terms of his performance. I know that there have been some sort of aspects of that that are less in his control from an injury perspective. They're also seem to have been occasionally conditioning issues there. So I think that this is a race trade, but it is a raise trade that is being made in service of getting better for the rays and from Detroit's perspective. This makes a tremendous amount of sense, you know, I think that Meadows will shift into sort of their a team from an outfield perspective and then when they are able to actually bring the full force of their prospects to bear, they'll be in pretty good shape here. We should remember that Riley green got hurt and has a broken foot, and so he will not make the opening day roster in Detroit, not because they want to keep him down, but because he is injured. And so this gives them insurance in the meantime, and then a much stronger outfield won't screen is fully operational again. So I like this. And like, we had already done the outfield rankings. So it's fine. I don't care. You go nuts. Everyone has to stop for 24 hours now. I said that yesterday about starting pitchers, and then the White Sox were like, what if we added one Johnny cueto, though?.

"Welcome back baseball family. Let's talk some playoffs again. Let's talk Let's talk alias and lcs. here we go gay. I houston versus boston. Gained three going on right now like we said before the red sox are still up nine to three. Were in the bottom of the fifth inning. right now I feel like errors. Might be the eventual undoing of the astros. You'd think that wouldn't ya. It kind of seems like it. Like what is it about the postseason. That jose altuve a really struggled with throwing the ball. I don't know. I don't think it's nerves because he seems to do well at the plate which i always got nervous during the season you know during tournaments and stuff like i don't know how he's service at lake. Yeah that's what i'm saying. The players where i got got nervous at the plate. I guy doesn't matter postseason. I didn't like oh man. I can relate to that like them yet but yeah it's it's funny because a guy who's been so good defensively 'cause i think he had like three errors all season and now he's got three in this series ada man but that's not really the story of this whole thing. The whole story of this is that is that the red sox are busting Busted out the rye bread and the mustard. Because it's been grand. Salami time the last three days. And by that i mean there's a briggs out the salami For really not watching he literally it just puts along. I literally have swami. I'm not gonna apologize. And the only reason it's been three grand salamis in three days because they had a day off in their correct sir so lead for those who don't know or have not been paying attention to the series as closely as maybe you ought to be Boston hit a grand slam in the first inning of game to jd martinez and then in the second innings rafael devers. Yep of his cabbage patch cheeks grand slam in the sound inning. Sure did holy moly. That's there the first to ever do that. To grand slams in one postseason game van and then and then then brig my man kyle. Schwartz is royal shortness. Another one tonight in the second inning. Yes he did early early and they've got the basis juiced because they are playing small ball. They're putting the ball in play. You not putting the ball in play very interest is houston jose to as of right now. K with the bottom of the fifth inning. One four eleven in this series. Mike is hard hardware you know. What's coming michael. Brantley two for eleven in this series. Alex bregman to for ten in this series makes a big difference in those guys aren't hitting the ball huge difference is they're they're the ones who are going to korea that dude just rakes all day every day there..

"Peter has been a member of greatness village a resident of greatness village for about the past twelve months. He's been in the poker world for quite a while. Has quite detail to tell peter. Welcome to the program. Sir sprouts really happy to be here. Twenty this intro. When i'm sitting there watching instead of just listening to headphones was normal book yet. Most of the time the only people that hear me record the intro. Our my cats. Because i do it by myself after afterwards and i gotta say intros are really good at calling cats. Too because they all congregate. When i'm talking at my computer and drive me batch. It crazy cuts cuts ingrida. It's like it's like a dog as somebody unsurprised. Mine are not scratching at the door. Belan can get into the room at this age. Because that's that's an all things that happens talking. Yeah that's the nature of the beast. There chaos incarnate. But we love them and we're talking just in the pre conversation about a how you gotta be a little different to shoes path of being a professional poker player and i'm pretty sure everybody in the village owns cats. And so like. I think that like little different chaos incarnate. Our little familiar that follow us around. That's just how it's gotta be for poker players. Well i think that's smart. People just happens some make sense. That's why that's why has a dog. He's the one exception. Maybe well let's start this out by asking you about your story. Let's tell the listener and me the story of how you got involved playing cards okay. So poker-playing days go back to. I suppose we'll always likes of always liked games above. Enjoy blame games and as a kid. I used to play a lot of chess. Am but i suppose than i kinda iconic gave hill because probably true nobody. Nobody my age they nobody. Id play chess. Am obviously very different more than you have now. And let's set the time line. You know where. How old are you now. What i'm year was this forty three now. So we're talking. We're talking to me too late it talking today. Eighties now and going into the air and country of origin before relocating to greatness village orlands all right all right so yes there was just a really a lack of opportunity to sort of you know. Do anything without our expand on that and by the way like the chess just wasn't a big thing in ireland. Just they could be. There was no certainly not where. I was. Certainly not where i lived. Was there any sort of chess coats and like that as well wasn't the beginning now internet we had you could go on google cesco. You know even if you knew you could find didn't it's not like versed i in the local papers. You know the first role about chess club is you. Don't talk about chess club right. It was an school around on like that. So just kinda just kinda moved away from a like. I play cards. Only france gotten serious. Play poker. didn't even know the rules. Sorts all sorts of crazy wildcards still happening never paid for any sort of major major money of his all like m. coins and fifty pieces like it was very very small when we did play and then i started them. The poker room happened to car in early. Two thousands and i started watching a lot like we like lately poker over here on. What were you doing with your life. Tell me about tell me about you like you in two thousand and three or about five years older than me. So you know you're twenty five twenty six around the poker boom what were you. What was your career. Had you always felt disconnection with games ever since chess was a part of your life. Yeah pretty much. Like i was always. Very absolve is very competitive. Am i know you've said previously. Yes the translated badly while them. Yeah i just. I always look. I was never. I was never a big sports. I like watching sports ball. I'm just not a very sporty. Paerson never played a beautiful instill Capable i was never very good. Selloff lost interest pretty quick whereas games just kind of they they kinda spoke to me more because that was always a pretty smart kid and so they kind of i could. I could figure you figure out strategy white well and and so i think that was. That was the appeal. Two thousand three. I was working in working in sales at that time. And he used to try to bind. taylor thing at the time the solids i saw childhood but i was pretty a pretty sure it sounded like assembly tropicana orange juice points and doesn't that you sell itself. Yeah pretty much older still. The is about like the truck and drive shops. They give me the argument. I wasn't just taking artists and sending in for someone that's doing olives bounces and say as they call it soggy on and around that time and i think around that time i actually started to take a little bit gambling. Always have a little bit of a little bit of a a gras as say for horses tummy. Tell me about that. what do you mean by the game. Will gimme gamble story. I enjoyed bet horses. And but like pretty much. Everything i do. I don't just win peak around the name of you know oil like the colors of that jockey's six. I had to have quite an addictive personality. I wanna get into some of them are really get into an annoying. I mean say for twelve months a amrried racing. Statistics agreed every paper by like two three papers in the morning. Like walking by van Do did every entered supper lunch. I go through every paper now. That's that's not included. The research would the night before on the next day's declarations and as the what was happening saddam. Unedited right after this. The best is gonna make today. And i did this once and i work out do pretty well i hit. I actually did pretty well. I remember one one nam. One day it was like it was like a tourist arizona. After paid wasn't i wasn't that big money but it was okay and the girlfriend is living with at time rang beaches. All the girls are going to night does a chance. I can go out like. She wasn't actually working at the time. I said well leave await me. We'll say Bookies and i started with ten euros on the force horse. I walked out at two hours later. "It's tighter you there are you there. He's not there. No no but i. We should just do that throughout the course of the rest of the show. We had a glitch. Then says the glitch though we did. We fixed the glitch But we had a little bit of a glimpse to click to kick off the second hour. let's get into a little raji. Rationale shall we. It's time to dive into the mlb futures market with none. Other than chris runge fans have may not have heard of you. Don't know much about ryan pitch. What kind of pitcher are you right. Handed a weird guy. Probably been on a plane where you don't have penis on that particular day they're not handing out because somebody on the plane has a severe allergy is really does know is baseball and obviously this team is not where you want to be this season in your thank thank now. I'm i'm pretty sure it's the rationale of ronji on you better. You bet i love that. Who was that that you were interviewing chris. That said you're obviously not where you want to be. That is former white. Sox pitching coach. Don cooper a native love. He's got that That new york attitude. Which i actually i kind of liked quite a bit while. Yeah i love it. I love the reaction where he's like We're not where you're not exactly where you wanna be while you think. Yeah we saw. It was part of the pre-game show. We did an interview. Every game pre-game every game and some days. He was in a good mood some days. He was read ask coupe and That was one of those red. Ask coop days well. that's great. that's awesome. "We just haven't seen in in long longtime over one hundred years at this bar at about one hundred years So you know. But i do think vlad's got a legitimate shot. I don't think this is as much of a separation as it was. Maybe at some point during the season i agree with you there. I think there is separation. I still think it's otani but and a lot of things gotta go in the blue jays action exactly. It definitely is not out of the realm of possibility. I'd give it closer to like a pudding percentage on it. I put it sixty percents anita and forty over vladi now but that could switch. That could absolutely change and final award guys. I don't think this is a foregone conclusion that garrett cole is your cy young award winner in the al. I don't even think it's close. I don't even think garrett cole is the leader in my mind it's two guys and they're both in chicago lance lynn. Who carlos don. Yeah i i think those two. It's a two man race on that team. Who's going to get that award. And can you believe that right now if we if we were to reverse a year ago where we really sit here and say carlos. Don is going to be a finalist for the cy young award. No i don't think carlos to tell you that he would say something along those lines. But you're right. I i do think it's right now. I think it is lance lynn. To lose i i totally agree garrett cole. For as as good as he's been this year Landslide has been better lance. Lynn plays on a better team. And because of that. I think those factors they matter. You know what you're getting from lands lamb when he comes out on the no matter what's happening you get in at least six any at least you get at least six innings from. That's how good he's been all season. Long coal actually has more innings pitched than he does at this point. But again i i go back to the fact that that lance lynn is playing on a better team. He's got his his. Era is almost under to. He's at two point four. Nobody's hitting the baseball off guy right now and so. It's to me in my pain. I got lynn. Coal ryndam after is the third guy but certainly This isn't geared. Kohl's trophy at this point in the year. I don't think. I don't think there's anything garrett cole could do to get the trophy because i'm gonna go back to our last point we're talking about. Who are the people that are voting for this writers. And i don't think garrett kohl's going to be able to shake off when it comes to cy young award voting time everyone that's thinking about garrett cole this season the first thing they think of is sound bite that sound bite and that sound bites just gonna last all year no matter for better or worse i do not agree that garrett cole should be the poster boy for a scandal that has nothing to do with him one hundred percent. It's just the world we're living in. And unfortunately he is the poster boy. And i think when it comes to voting time it's going to lance lynn and rodion. It's not gonna go to garrett cole i mean listen. We know how voters are being the moral police when it comes to the hall of fame. So it's not gonna be any different when it comes to this particular. You're right that sound bite and we. I think we both said this when it happened. Like that's not going to go. Well that that having that soundbite where he was just fumbling the question in terms of avi used digging stuff or not. That's that that's not although we're able as former players to kind of turn to page on it and move on. Most of the voters are most of the people who vote on these type of awards aren't able to turn that page and that will be the that will be even whether it's true or not that will be at the forefront of their heads at all. Well how did he do. After the sticky stuff went away this net any other they will dissect that that is just the nature of this business. And i think you're right he. I don't know if you'll be able to shake that whether that's right wrong or indifferent. I don't know if he's going to be able to to shake that same. And that's it's unfortunate because i don't think he deserves it personally but i think it just one of those things you signed with the yankees man for three hundred twenty five million dollars. You knew that this was coming. Maybe not exactly this but some things are coming no matter what happens in baseball. There's always going to be a magnifying glass on your. I was not an alex. Rodriguez fan by remember. Every time a pay dispute would come up between the cba and they're talking about all players too much money. The looked always went immediately. To alex. Rodriguez as if he was the one that caused all of this number. Right fair point if every point but as you as you said that is kind of the business. We're that's how that's kind of how things fall when when you're dealing with these type of circumstances where he somebody has been you know a cot or alleged to have cheat That just hangs over people. I mean we're still seeing in terms of the hall of fame very bonds themis hundred percent of hall of famer about west. But you know he he he's gonna he's because of how voters feel about those type of sich those type of incidents He still sit on the outside looking in which drives me absolutely nuts because there are other names that are in there that we know for a fact should not be in there. If that was the reason that they're giving come on. Let's clean it up a little bit. Barry bonds is probably the greatest player who ever lived ever ever ever ever ever ever ever agreed agreed. No argument from your. I best best best guy ever seen put on a uniform and he was at the end of his career when i saw him play like when i was on the field. What he's he is the most intimidating figure from a outfield stamp. I'm all the way centerfield. I felt like he was literally standing next to me in the box. That's how imposing he was. And i got to see him play for a long time. We getting off subject. But yes i agree with you. I love it well before we get to far off subject. Who is this. Something that tony i can totally do. We're gonna call it a day today on big time baseball. Thank you so much for joining us. Tony work if people find you..

"If as you said the scenario is he hasn't pitched the rest of the year. My focus is on zack. Wheeler at this point. I mean e ease another complete game shutout. Last night are yesterday's game against a man. He's got a few of those this year think he leads. The league in complete games He he's gotta be the front runner right now. If that scenario stays to say. I almost agree with you. I think he is the front runner in the runner up to the guy that i think should be this year. Cy young award winner. If it's not jacob degrom of course walker bueller is so good and no one acknowledges them so much so that you just laid out the dodgers starting staff and you put them number three et. No i know as i soon as i did i was like this. You're not but you're not the only one. I do it all the time too when i think dodgers walker buehler's somehow is the eleventh name that comes to my mind and he is there as he is the best pitcher on that staff and he threw another gem last night. I believe he's leading the with the exception of of active players. I believe he has the best. Era in baseball. he's been spearheading that tire division. I really think walker bueller. With the exception of zack wheeler going out and throwing four more complete game. Shutouts i think walker bueller will be a really good pick for cy young this year. Listen you're not wrong. You're right buehler's bulos the number one leader Ahead of peralta and woodridge Year are he second in the league in in wins this year. That that should mean something as well right he you know zag. We got him on strikeouts. But you might be right you might. You might have made a compelling enough case that it could be it could very well be walker builder man and and i. I should have known better. Because i've seen him probably pitch more than any of these other starters out there and he's been legit dominant and all of those starts. That's necessarily got the wins but Listen i i don't know why we keep looking over him and and i don't know why the media hasn't picked up on them yet right. I mean it may. Maybe it's because servicer in kershaw in that rotation or are that offenses so can be so prolific at times But it is a mystery. It is misery even as we sat here and did this. We both willie's i did. I put him third on liz. As you said it's a mystery why we don't talk about it much. But i think he convinced me i it it walker buehler's probably the is probably the leader right now. It's a it's a. it's a hell of a battle. I'm looking forward to sing. What these guys do for the rest of the season. Let's talk a little. Nl mvp because as you mentioned earlier. Jacob degrom was at the top of all of our lists. He's officially off all of our. He no longer in the running. So there's a lot of names out there that is having a hell of a year and some names that are sneakily climbing these lists right now. One name. that immediately comes to mind is bryce harper. Who's just been killing it lately. Who do you think has a chance to win the nl mvp. Because i mentioned on the show a couple of weeks ago there is a guy that i'm really expecting a big second half and that for me is manny machado. If he comes alive the second half. I don't think there's anything then a stop yet. He will he is alive. I that dude is is hitting at a stupid clip right now. He's unreal. he is he. He's he's he's put this offense on their back while fernando's out here's the thing if fernando comes back after zeile and he's fernando. I think it's his lose. I really do. I would degrom. Not in the pitcher anymore. There are just too many things that fernando has done offensively That i think separate him from everything else. He's he's leading the league in slugging. These leading the legal stolen bases home runs. He's right there in the rbi ray so there are so many things that he does so well. I think it's his blues and it sounds like he's going to be coming back. I it's i mean it might not be at the shortstop position it could be alpha We'll see but i think it's is the lose after him. I think you got a. I think you've got a next year. It's tat tease junior. And in the next tier i think is machado. I think it's muncie. And i do think it's hard harper's starting to make a push now. I don't know if you remember at one point. In the season he had like thirteen home runs and like ten of them were were solo shots and east now he starting to have some guys on base woody's hit now that they've kinda Started to play better but for me. I think he's probably at the back even though he started to make a lot of noise. It's guys like machado probably underneath jetties. And then you gotta give muncie a whole bunch of love to 'cause he's been good as well you know. I also like muncie as well. But i really like your pick on tattoos and i like my pick on machado. I think this is going to be a southern california word this year. Just really do the to arguably the two best of the three best teams. The baseball i just. I think that's a really good fit over there. And like you said machado's just putting up unreal numbers and if tease comes back even semblance of what is been right you. You're not wrong. He's gonna be right there in that conversation. If not just the certified. Mvp let's look at al mvp because everyone is said all year otani otani otani but there is one thing i want. Fans are really understand about all these awards. It's who votes on them. The people who riley vote on these are writers so as of right now there's been a lot of pieces written about otani because he's done incredible things. This series done incredible things for the game. He's an incredible ambassador for the game. Globally however if the toronto blue jays really start going on a roll and vlad junior is part of the reason if not the main reason that they do go on said role. There's going to be a lot of people writing about vlad junior and when that happens going into a playoff run and into october those writers are going to vote. What's right in front of them. Vladi junior is right in front of them killing in october. There's a chance votes might be going his way. I still inclined to think otani still the mvp. But i think black has got a lot more damage to do to change mines. And here's why that point is important in terms of who's voting these are i. These are human so you know that can be moved one way or another. Based on the information that's constantly interface. As as as you just put cody and if that happens in in the blue jays are a team that are in the thick of a a pennant race or in the thick of getting in the wildcard and vlad junior is certainly in and his face is constantly. Because here's the thing. The angels are going anywhere right there. They all ties gonna keep doing. He's doing but he's literally going to be the guy that they show win. He's either pitching or he does some because their team is not going to be relevant. I don't think down the stretch whereas the blue jays all of a sudden you games are cutting to the blue jays games to see what they're doing if there's in the hunt that has in effect on the voter and so you're right if the blue jays somehow can can get into a place where night in night out. People have to tune in to see what they're doing because that races that tight and vlad junior is doing the same stuff. He's been doing all year. There is a. It's easy to see how he could somehow win this Al mvp now without that. It's otani's because of just the sheer things that he's been able to do that..

It's there's there's people aren't getting cures for this in the fight to get cure strikeout. Ls is something boots determined to be a part of and be a big part of to support him as his friend. Just look at what. What lou gehrig said the day you know when he got up there and said i consider today i consider myself the luckiest man alive. Like here's somebody who's got a disease it's gonna kill him and he says that because he truly meant that because it is an incredible honor to put on a major league uniform. It is a gift it is. It is not a right the day you get done playing baseball. They keep playing baseball games. Baseball never stops for you. So you have for him in that moment to have the wherewithal on the understanding. Even though something tragic was happening that was going to eventually kill him. He truly understood that he was so lucky. To put a yankee uniform on and play the great game and for him to say that in that moment and now for major league baseball to recognize june second his as lou gehrig's disease for the rest of the time is so incredible and And really really fitting in. And i'm just glad that so. Much awareness was brought to it and and none bigger than boob and everything. He's done for marquees. Oh my god you know top to bottom. It was one of the best shows games. I saw just the amount of rape things were done. You know from first pitches to families in the stands and all the awareness raising money just in a special day man. It was really cool. "They didn't have no and it turns out that they're going to miss at least one of them again when they go back out there. But that's just the nature of the beast when you're playing during the season and you play teams close to each other and good for them like at the end of the day. They weren't facing slouches. Either you look at the numbers of each of those starting pitchers coming into the game. They got really good stuff. They're capable of striking a lot of guys out and the cubs put together great at bats. And that's taken carry your business at home and then now you're on the west coast. San francisco's in first place. They're playing great baseball. They're extremely well odor starting rotation end their bullpen. So they're gonna have their hands full. And then you know that the padres are not gonna forget one second. What just went on wrigley field. They're going to be getting ready. But i think the approach they take. Every day is just is exactly that today. it's only matters today. Don't make it bigger than that. Don't make it about a series. Make it about this game rate near and because of that. That's why you're seeing these winds just happen against really good teams which tells me the cubs are a really good team. They're not this isn't a flute. Were in june i now. And their continuing to play great baseball since april seventeenth and doing it in multiple different facets. And it's fun to watch so You know good for them for taking care of their businesses like we always talk to. It's like okay. Cool your face in the pirates right not a good team and you better beat them and they do that. They're facing such taking care of the plane down to the competition. They're playing above the lesser competition. And they're playing right there with the great competition at their face and then beat him so I just love where they're at right now. Look forward to keep him keep it going. How could you not love the way they're playing. I mean they're playing a brand new baseball that at the beginning of the season there was really no sense of identity. This is a team that was swinging for defenses and we sat around our marquee sports. Now we're studios tony and said if this team can just start putting the ball in play and doing the little things and that's what we're seeing right now. They're they're getting on base. The scoring runs. They're stealing bases. It seems to be a complete team effort in when guys go down in the injury bug. We've seen other guys to step right back up. It's been another link in the chain mentality and we saw how they struggled and scuffled just a little bit during the month of april but wants to turn may and they turn that calendar page. I mean they look like a completely different team so when it comes to that turnaround in may and then back into the month of june tony. What was the most impressive thing you. I think it's what you said right there at the identity. They resented a few days ago that the cubs feel like they're never out of game right now. They feel like they're always able to win each night. And they've proven that they went the almost the entire month of may without losing a game by multiple run. They were right in there. They had ninth inning rallies. Everybody on twitter wants to call them like fake rallies but they're not fake when you're able to come back and even if you don't tie game but you still score two or three runs the night new keep coming back it. It gives that believe in instills that belief in this team that they can come back..

twitter april seventeenth june today ninth inning two each april each night first place three runs one second few days ago tony may june tony francisco San at least one
