"It feels like this album like it starts off real heavy but by the time you get to the end of it i feel that you kinda get worn out from the the the musical journey. I guess not the sound cheesy but you kind of go through with these guys have gone through making this album with these eighteen songs. It's definitely it's definitely experience. Yeah definitely living through something when you're listening to it like you get your ups and you got your ups. You got your you middles. And then it's like it's like drugs. They were uppers downers. they got red established. They got horse got got it definitely. Has its another song with keith richards. Signature salads guitar work on it. Yeah unreal guys whole album. I love it. Yeah it's it's it's just a fucking great rock and roll album. That's what it is. It's a rock and roll album. A lot of maybe stones albums were less rock and roll albums as years went on. But this one man. This is as true rock-n-rollers you can get. Would you say this is like their last major rock and roll out now. You just make that statement. No i i think goats head soup was a good one. I thought it's only rock and roll was a good one. Anything with mick. Taylor were saying. Listen to songs. You keep talking about keith. We didn't say too much about mc. Well taylor do right. He was still new in guys and they were throwing a bone here near only has like one writing credit on the whole album. But he's a master guitar player. Let he like ryan. And i were talking. And we're talking about mccower ronnie wood's my man but metallic did everything important. The rowing i mean the rolling stones in the seventies. Were all mick taylor. Yeah it's a shame he couldn't he couldn't have got too crazy. He had his drug addictions. Reporting of this stuff. Yeah and i mean. He's there is rumor that he was so high on heroin that he tried to break up the rolling stones. He told he said that he was all fucked up on heroin. But he said something to charlie and bill wyman like they can go out matter owned ban over. Yeah that's nice. Yes garrick so that you can get right. Yeah book that. Tc blames it on the drugs that use on. yeah. I read that article. That's funny stuff. It's crazy but everything that everything great that the wrong simpson. Mick tailored playing guitar for them. Well with in the seventies the seventies around and i love ronnie wood. Taylor is no mukta but i love writing. What you did you listen to. Liz fares album. Now i vill no. So that's excellent guy ville is supposed to be. Liz fares response song by song response really to exile on main street. It's a great album. I mean the last couple of things that she's put out has been shit. How old is it think it was in the early ninety okay. And she was kind of like an indie. She's not the like the liz. What's her name. Liz fair is that like the fucking concert lists fair little. Okay my bad no it was Album came out in ninety three. And it's been on like rolling stone. It's on rolling stones like five hundred greatest albums of all time. But it's supposed to be like her. She listened to it and was like it's such a i dominated thing and she tried to right. It's like female power. It's it's a cool album though for doesn't go like song for song respond every song not it's not eighteen actually it is eighteen tracks. So yes she she it a song response to listen to and see if of bows same blueprint song for song like we're not talking to play it. It's up kate. Bush guys now. It's better it's a. It's a cool album. Listen but it's more. Yeah all right. That's cool push. People won't say anything else about your work. Yeah it's worth checking out. He said don't listen to. She has one song that was popular like a pop hit. Remember the late nineties. It was not good. I totally know. She has like some hardcore street credit for that album. Yes yes know the cover. I know the album cover. I'd never do anything. Do exile supposed to be like a response to it so cool anyway. She got to do it there. You go so that's it man. That is shown. I really i say this almost every week man i i really love doing the research of this story but there was a story behind this album. That's why pushed for. Yeah and go go check out. The stones in exile documentary came out a couple years ago. It was cool like they went back to the house and they were standing in the basement. Talking yeah yeah. This is the room where we did everything. Just really cool. Yeah i mean. I don't think they make rock and roll albums like this anymore. Now now it's legal. It's right yeah especially getting thrown out at england right kids kids rolling joints for you. Jesus christ decadent man. Yeah crazy stuff man. So i got some second thoughts. I didn't appearance on episode. Sixty five of the bendon scoop. Podcast and Just got to talk about. The show's great and You know just asked me some questions about kind of stuff. We're listening to and and got the plug the show so wanted a plug them. I really appreciated get to spend a couple of minutes with those guys and just talking about what we're doing over here and we got some feedback on our guitar. Picks episodes so on twitter hans carl. He's actually a music composer in los angeles. He chimed in and gave his his six picks he picked eddie van. Halen the edge. Mick ronson. we didn't talk about it. All from bowie's band. Randy rhoads rusty anderson who. I didn't know he's actually. He was the league tourist with a shit work with mccartney so okay. Yeah so that was. Cool the warden. rob owens who cares. Act he'd chimed in. He said his picks were slash. Eddie van halen david gilmour brian may jimi hendrix and clapton. The guy from coldplay was and then we also heard from jacqui from seattle. So good to hear jackie. She just said hell yet another great episode the concert stories. You guys tell are so thrilling. I share your musical passion. And then she said no music k n w music you know life no music and oh no life. True true man. I love it very well. Thank you for always love hearing from you. Jackie good stuff so Music news. So i got. We got a couple of stories man. We added this to our show a couple of weeks ago. And you know as we're putting our nose together this show where we share and interesting things and we got some talk about it. So i man the nirvana kid fucking jerk off. He's a fucking his lawyers jerk off. You gave him this idea for child pornography like you know like if you wanted to get paid. You should just went after for like this because you're you're faces on t shirts world. What's the story so spencer. Elden the kid who appeared on the cover of nirvana's nevermind. Thirty years ago. His father lawsuit against the ban saying the iconic photo shoot is child pornography. His lawyer has argued. That spencer was naked in a pool chasing a dollar bill which in turn suggested he was some sort of sex worker and he suing like it's like two dozen people for like one hundred fifty grand each come on the. How many times is that kid. Read all it was like a medium duty as never mind tattooed on this fucking chess. It's like every five years he does to shoot again and one of the shoots that he did. It was like when he turned. Maybe it was the thirty year anniversary. He wanted to do it naked. He kept telling them for me. It was like rolling stone or something music nominee. Let's do it. Let's do the exact reenactment and the reporter was like dude. You see. we can't. We can't do that on the news that if you just magazine if he just went to. Dave grows eight days wine. Just give me two hundred thousand dollars.

"And I was lucky enough to go to one of the games they had all these little. He puppets and stuff on sticks and why have time be by the fall. It was just everywhere i guess. 'cause paramount owned nickelodeon and i think there were just carpeting. That music did with the movie and stuff on nickelodeon four months to so every child in the united states was catching onto. It now became a nursery school song to right. It's like a baby shark phenomenon. It was like a baby shorts and on type n and the songs not bad. You know it's like a really fun. Danceable thing so i don't know just took off seen happy with another song since well. You also directed another song that who would have expected.

"It doesn't seem like the writers know what to do with them in order to get them to where they want them to be. At the end of the season one hundred hundred percent thousand percent agree with what you just said. can really have more to that. Yeah but but it was interesting for this episode to air after that. Bit of news that you brought up about them being Sport master tigress being season series regulars next season so They'll be breaking out of prison again and again and again we're not maybe but But yeah we'll see last but not least we have marvel with What if about doctor strange. What if he lost his heart. Not his hands The one of the stupidest. I just there when i read the title. I thought to myself. Well okay that's an easy question to answer. He would be dead. Are you counting. And then quickly. They're like yeah we say heart but what we really mean is beloved his life. What if is surprising me. Because i i appreciate how this concept. They week after week Nra able to tell a different like this is no pun intended a different version of of time and the watcher n n En just in just different perspective. I mean the way from the very first episode. Captain carter there was no divergence from the mythos In that character and it was very beat for beat and then when this episode with doctor strange there was it was the first fifteen minutes. Felt like okay. This is similar to what they did with with. But onell can't undo that it's a fixed point prime an-and they they're like oh he's going dark okay i get it i get it. And then they added another twist which i did not see coming where it's like which makes sense i mean why would you bring The agent one in an her really not do anything. No no she created this So so i. And i like how the consequences them out. Because it made sense to me i was. I was listening to kind of finding review. And they didn't really understand this episode and an if it's a fixed point in time which which it would be for this character in this universe because they made it very clear in this time line had she not died he would have. Never become the sorcerer supreme the which which would.

"I hate to say it's just not giving me enough of the full history and i know how doing this on purpose To make me think. Like oh i understand who. She is her perspective and walk by. There's this She's walking this. This fine line between one in the vange vigilantes to help her and then winning the police to do their job on their own. How n n beyond that. I don't know what's going on with this whole clearly. Barbara and dick loved each other. Things happen and then on top of that. The the writers really need to figure out what they're doing with corey deck. Okay we need more more of those moments. You know that's gonna happen already has been it will happen again mon just just more. I don't know at like before. What i what i said Barbara especially in this episode. Very confusing agree confusing as to you. Oh i just wanna have fun in break the rules to i'm like i don't know there's just something off about. Yeah yeah yeah. I think that's a good point. I was thinking about that as as you were talking about. Dick barbara's relationship. And i think i could. I could see where they were trying to. Put the threads together. Because the when we i see them in the first flashback. It was years ago. Dick is robin costume. And they were tested the security of a museum with whenever with the and then and then we then we the next flashback. Then after that then there at the bar and talk about breaking the rules. And all that you know establishes their romantic relationship and then we get to the romantic relationship where they are either yet. They're playing cat burglar on justice security for you know where batman was Or i guess not because against dick was about to get called away To hell batman out with something and she's like no stay here so So so there was a lot of like the recklessness. I guess When with that and and which now maybe that to which resulted in her first set of injuries lady vic.

"Great sums at the seventy s n country music. I think it was always very strong. Fame a lot of the great aboriginal country. Add to the sixty s and fifty sixty s in the seventies. Were you know very very parochial in the subject matter and stuff. So i think all that have influenced as well i do. Wanna come back to the skyhooks influence on. Ross wilson hanging. It shouldn't be the other way iran. But i definitely think that. Ross an extent was reinvigorated after having produced living in the seventies. And i can see an influence on a couple of the songs on this album but we will come back to that. This is mainly for the benefit of the people outside of australia. I think it might be worth just a few minutes of talking a little bit about. Ross wilson and chris levine. The director of the film. Reader's digest potted history. The russell wilson say started at as a sixteen year old playing with the blues. R&b flavored band called the pink finks..

"I guess this is why like They're like no. We're not gonna give it just or we're going to give you we're gonna give in. We're yeah and and who knows. Maybe we'll maybe she'll obsidian maybe maybe. I really have nothing else to stave out this year. It was i. I felt i. This week's episode. It was it. I think the. I think you're right. You predict it. Exactly what was going to happen. Where you courtney was and we made. It was kinda telegraph. We all saw coming that she was going to feel jealous of jenny. And and of course an relationship clearly with pat and incidentals innocent and really that piece of show this week. Wisconsin mike. Okay now we saw i did. I really did enjoy a them. Getting deeper into you Jenny's learning how to use the ring. And and i am also glad i was wondering if if she was gone to stay or or move on because i couldn't remember if if she was going to be a regular semi regular and it looks like this character will be a semi regular. So we'll we'll have other appearances of green lantern jade And and it later in series. I'm sure but You know. I think right now. There's still a lot also hoping they will follow up some with with what's going on with bath and your As far as their situations. But really beth really didn't have much much. Do all this episode. Now i added a solar may be in a few scenes but yeah that it may be. That was what was Disoriented about this episode is like last episode. everyone got equal screen time very much. "It'd be a song like yellow snow or cosmic debris or something like that so people think of him more as a novelty. Act like weird al something you know now. Weird al's incredible musician but he's also known to have a sense of humor. Suddenly when you have a sense of humor. People don't take you serious. That was the thing. I wanted to let people know more about my dad's music in abroad or way which ended up taking the last fifteen years of my life and the next. Yeah i know my kids. You know once a special effects makeup artist and other ones that is a medical. So i really don't talk much music to them you know. Even though they were little they went to all over. Shows have a question to ask you too much. We playing parts of it. We didn't do thing because You know there's there's a lot of that stuff with the flow and eddie style. Where a lot of. It's improvised things or folk. More things that get insertive Jerk so you're yeah. I think about a second so you know in in some cases what i try to do with my dad's music was i did at least for the first maybe six or eight years of doing the project. I removed the the comedy stuff for the most part. I focused on the more serious and difficult music. Because i felt like the stuff that if you really want to get to know what my dad did you should be exposed to that. And so the humor part of it came back into the music. After i felt like we had explored a lot of the other stuff ultimately you know i i love all the music but there's stuff that i prefer over other things and i prefer to focus the time and energy into playing some of that. The more complicated things that really represent the genius of his. I did this to lyrics toll. When i was i was pretty musicianship. Yeah me too coffee when you talk about musicianship late with your dad. Somethings that he did. I don't even i. You guys obviously could Could talk her mind..

But i'm sure a lot of the shows we mentioned network premiering in this will carry through that month only for october two dropping like i said this is all about getting back to normal. Are normal rhythm here. We do have bat woman season. Three's kicking off in october on october. Thirteen along with the dc. Fon dome you please be more like. They wanted not to assist. Says it will be over sixteen. Oh it. they're going to have some batman stuff their own batman probably black buck animal so so not a real clinton but flash food. We get that you know they get the sf otas this week firm from that with the bat flecha on the best cycles. Now they're movie. I don't think israel and then to wrap up. October dune part. One hot so. I still have not watched. That trailer still have not watched it doing this on purpose. Everyone criticize will. Don't criticize me. But but i am starting to get really hyped. Because i liked the idea. They're making it clear. This isn't going to be part one end. And i like it because from what i understand. There's a lot of mythology here at play. Saga surrogate in part one in on top of that. Because warner brothers loves to do this. They're doubling down and they've already green lit a prequel series. That will drop the four part. Two does the nan. If part one bombs be hilarious. Yeah i don't think it will. I think it will. But if if i could have you know the the way things have been going to the seems like you know with these simultaneous releases. It has a big opening weekend and this week to this..

Not going on your Should directions snyder game. And yeah well. You know what come to fix. The door has been opened for john now because credit has a scheduling conflict. So he can't be in the flash film so Yeah so maybe maybe we can get. Maybe henry get john henry too. Yeah yeah well. Yeah henry and then we got another martha ford. The mother flash now is not not markets But still that would be maybe in one of the timelines we go but yeah i i was kind of. I was kind of coming out of this movie. I was like i'll i don't care. It didn't the flash movie is only movie in the dc universe right. Now that i know is really happening with or without keaton. So i'm kind of like it's going to happen regardless and we're gonna talk about it regardless but i'm also kind of indifferent on it. I don't have high expectations. "We can not just slim have a win for what's not be all melodrama and we'll and bittersweet how is it better sleep. They do always win like. That's this thing was painfully. obviously obvious. In these episodes in particular the stakes are done. There aren't i cannot believe anything in. that's why when one of wells dies care timely okay. I've seen that before. I don't i don't have any emotional investment. I mean yeah. I care about irish being stuck in the mirror verse but but then we have cisco's girlfriend who i don't really know and i've never really been invested in that relationship and then we have sing. Who's always been this. Larry character but again. It's not like it's joe. See so again the overly years this cast has just inflated to the point where the stakes are diminished. Because you're not you're not invested in the relationships or and so when when we you have a villain like mirror master you It comes off as cheap in and cheesy. Because you're just like well. They'll find a way. I've seen this before it'll be bittersweet but nothing like make a bittersweet is the first season on the flash. It's always going to be the first season flash. Everything else is just bitter. I mean i that was part of my problem with the end of the season premiere. Because what i was thinking. Also right yeah. They're they're getting rid of all the wells create artificial speed force. But you know. I've seen this before. We're gonna get another iteration of tom cavanagh meat. I mean we. He's yeah i mean th the show There are always. They're going to find a place for him and the harrison wells character. So yes so you so with the epilogue with episode this week going back to the moment in the first the marvelous first season Where we where we see Vaughn switching out with the original wells and then you know. And then we get the real the finally the real actual harrison wells. It added to the show on the one hand. I was like okay. Nice trick i. I was as a as as a fan of the show. I was like okay. We've we've danced around harrison wells for seven years now. We're actually going to get to see who does man really is so so from from nastya point it was it was i was. I was like okay. "The season premiere of this is us what they did. Between cohen and black lives matter. They it was so not cringe-worthy in it was it was just talking. It expressed it. It didn't even relive the events necessarily but you you got the effect of if the pearsons were actually a real family because of the way the pearsons how they're how they function as a family. What those two things did to them like full like there was something so honest about it that i was just like. That's that's the end of the day lightness about family. And and so really the you know the pierce family after such as of chronicled over the last few weeks about how jefferson atlanta at each other and the nisa and at grace or or you know working through their newly married blessing the growing pains of of being a couple Things are family. The family is starting to come together again. of course. now. You've got this new card with a new jennifer but at least all the other issues seemed to be getting resolved aso that Now they can tackle this new issue and in the next episode. They're gonna start with paint site that is not cringe-worthy at all it wasn't i like the payback. I can't even. I actually did. I actually take it was cheesy but but it worked is for what they were driver. Do how for you. It worked for me. It did not. But we're talking about lois and superman the latest. Cw show and the latest show to come back and then only to get delayed due to covid and still it next week will be its last episode. And then i'll be on hiatus until may but in the meantime we just we got. We got the car the I keep wanting to call them. The clark's honest to god. I don't know why but we got family. "Brian really wants to help. But angelique is the person that won't will accept that help and and the other piece to it is as well as given how Brian was so like burn. It all down with the with the with the crows so to mary and luke and she had the conversation on the rooftop with with riot with with the sophie as well Now actually partnering with them to to try to help angelique so It i think to your point it is maybe setting the stage for them to Have a romantic relationship. But i think a lot of things have to happen for that to happen to transpire One of those. So sophie haven't really come to terms with the organization that the cruise is well organization that the coro is an an grief over. Kate may think that. I think that's what the season is building up to. And that next season will be the season romance. Just saying they are young. They have great chemistry screen together to so that i would argue. They have better chemistry than her in them together. Rioting or sophian k. together. I never was of like this is way to force But i hope they take that lesson and don't force this just allow it which they are doing a good job right now right now. They're doing a pretty good job. Because like you said there's a lot of other stuff going on To prevent that being the focus. But i think that is it for us on that woman Because we got a very big episode go on division to cover him by episode. I mean previously on so basically talking about mc you history really. "And a half just like kay caroline's life. Let's wrap it. Oh where's your pace with some of these plot points Well i think the we as as you brought up the painting. And and we talked about earlier with allison ocean and how episode ended with you know given that the one that was at the collective party was a forgery and and and ocean and alice have the actual map and clearly. Safai has a grander scheme. Play at play here where They've had their memories repressed of a of a prior their prior relationship so So how that all ties into to the painting and a map and enter the joker Yet with case disappearance I think we'll get. We'll get this little morsel of information east episode as we as we move forward and and also what i did like this week was yes. The kate smith case disappearance was obviously hanging over. But i felt like it wasn't the email it was one of the clear driving points of the episode. It didn't feel like it was taking up all the oxygen and room this week. I mean there were other felt like force at the things we talked about with sophie and ryan and and the choices that you know that brian had to make to to work with the crows and and and of course lew and mary as far as like calling the shots and ryan's like after in episode. Look i what your did it your way and look. What a goddess. So now if i'm going to be wearing to see i'm calling the shots i i mean i like those. I like the evolution of brian And then of course her relationship with With her ex girlfriend angelique And and you know again how we you know how we talked about how her enter leagues in victor's al and and brian having a good understanding the gotham underworld is a as an asset for her As bad woman. So i think there's a lot of little threads that are out there. Hopefully a of see you know. I've enjoyed the series enough to season. And like you said to the to your point about the second half of last season. Where the writing definitely got stronger and i feel like overall the writing for the most bar has been pretty strong season so i am hopeful that we'll all those spirits threads will will come together. Cates missing guys but we still have an entire city to protect. So what are we really doing here. What's really are mission. Because i didn't just sign up to fill in and by filling in it means we have to chase down. All of these leads to find kate. Like i'm here to protect the streets so i i wonder if they're gonna go there eventually. Hopefully they do But more so than last season the animosity. I think is more honest. Bat woman and crows definitely definitely alk and I think and again you know a a thick you. Obviously they're not. They're obvious you know. References to real world with Black lives matter and general police misconduct and it was some clerk in an episode. We we saw many examples of the crows Abusing their thority. Jacob torturing the guy who that woman at captured and of course When they when they run down We'll spider evan. And and and to your point as far as how they really are set up and hope they do continue this week we got some early indications of it in first few episodes we had the flashback with ryan sophie And and it actually even current interaction with them whenever she was being questioned About you know that that deep the hatred they were so into the seeds up there showing that that was there and and and now given that ryan is about woman and having to work with the crows At the conflict of that you know that again. You couldn't really have that with kate. I mean you had it for different reasons. But now it's like you know. Obviously they will now the the the animosities because of the that corruption and and ryan wanted to basically take take take the crows down and so And and really you know really stuck out with with me. Was you know whenever sophie toffs. The two badges of the individuals who ran down will spider. That's not enough. I mean that's okay. Fine but what are what are you willing to serve. What are you willing to do. Have someone on the inside who sees as corruption every single day. Who you know within an hour ryan knows that and it also like thinking about luke as well. I mean the crows are responding to frame it. Innocent man for for killing liu lucy's murder so what are you people doing wire. Y'all so bent on upholding assistant so corrupt so.

"These episodes this is why. Why wanda encounters this mobile plane says the beekeeper that you saw on all stuff in near an and i thought it was. It was really done. Well I don't have any complaints about that. I again like. I said this is episode. Where actually was hurting throughout the entirety of it. Yeah yeah same here and in one of the things you this. You mentioned about the story and That with post blip and how they handle that monica learn about proton her her mother dying of cancer and before she got back and and so it really did get into Either the ramifications whereas edith far from home was more comedic part of of life after the blimp whereas this is the you know we see the tragedies that people dealt with from it as well and yeah and and that was. So i think that again i think for me that really started pulling and we talked about this. Maybe the first time for the first episode where we were like okay. Maybe maybe about halfway through. I think even at you said it yourself. Start pulling it pulling things together and we and then i was like yeah and i'll probably be about four or five. I'll be like all about this series. And here i am but at and i think that was and because i think you're right. They did do a good job of connecting. What we've seen to what to to what we know As far as the meta of yet you're like the jimmy was like dad on is like we're watching a sitcom about the vendors why nobody is doing this steel and i i like how he's also. Fbi and he found himself like trying to investigate he just stumbled upon this and then now he he's met monica now he's fully entrenched in sword and all his stuff. I think you got a little bit of a fish out of water from him which is which. Yeah which is very cool. Because again you know that that earnestness that and that fish out of water aspect of jimmy you know. We saw that a lot at man so o. In a so again. Is that aired in. And i think it was Looking at it now. I understand why why they did it the way that they did. Because i know i know you made a note. Why didn't they start with the with this episode. But i don't know if i if they had. I don't know.

"It got to be a bit cringed more with with lame. Lame wayne But that's another issue. I mean back to replace. Tommy elliott. I think is just a great But i do agree with you. That i i see i am. I don't necessarily blame the word so much as the delivery was weird because she sounded so different in that moment than any other places and so it felt almost out of character wonder. If it would have been would have been different. Had she not been saying those two two other minority. Yeah that's true vow bopha luke maye will know baluch had a pretty principles life himself. I mean he's lucius. fox's son. So he was bruce wayne's right hand guy and mary lou also and their privileged both costs them their parents but yes. Yeah so so. Maybe maybe they weren't who needed to hear that now. Now that we now that we're talking about it more so because yeah you know check because You know luke definitely had he had issues with ryan clearly very the very. He was always possesses about the equipment batman equipment anyway even with fate but But now especially with someone who he his is. He is not he he always. He's looking dellinger. And so and you know yes. Mary and and ryan definitely had that connection with within their mothers to bala the but But you know but again she you know. She is still commander cain stepdaughter. And and the pros are a very well off organization and it. Okay you know. And and you know wayne's first cousin so they all they're not hurting as far as money so from that standpoint. Yes oh look at it from that from that. Vantage point as we discussed The even though tony. I think you're right Seem a little out of character with everything else for the rest of the episode. But maybe it was the message that they needed to hear. So that when things do start formulating that team down as as the season progresses. It'll be that kind of come. The come to jesus moment that that ryan have with with with lucan and mary. Yeah well it was definitely Moment that stuck out sore ryan because then she goes in reads. More information about who. Kate kane was And which was pretty interesting scene because it felt like i like the editing choices made overlays in the contrast and and it was pretty seamless. So i appreciate that a lot. I bet i'm not wrong at the end when sophie's reading the letter that is not rubin's voice. Not i listen carefully house like that doesn't sound. i mean it's it's close but it's not.

We're here for it unless know how it goes. Let's goes we definitely. You're curious no honestly no really we are seriously tell us it's been a hard quarantine guys. We need these spicy times to stay extra spice super spice. Let's continue with the few NAB. Yes so tell me more call so just like her having this with a sex for the next two years. She was on the road promoting title for someone who had never played in front of an audience before she came out swinging. Nice her for her very first live performances. Were on the tonight show and Saturday night live. What preceded were tours. Opening for Chris Isaac and Counting Crows then a stint with the lilith fair so she wasn't the lowest was. She ended up canceling the last leg of her tour citing vague family issues. As the problem from the sounds of it she was just exhausted. And just hated touring You don't say yeah. I don't blame her. People don't like touring. Yeah Weird this was also the time when she was dating. David Blaine Liberty insufferable magician. Who at the time was known for burying himself in New York City and being part of Leonardo DiCaprio's quote Unquote Pussy Posse? What yeah what which. I'm pretty surely. Caprio is still trying to hold onto you. Are you saying that Wolf Street is basically who Leonardo DiCaprio is. Yeah he's not great like everybody fucking loves Leonardo DiCaprio. But there's something about him. Oh yeah there's always been something about him where I'm like. I don't like you know what it is and that the pussy policy might that might be an added. Maybe it by the time. She went back into the studio to record their next album. David Blaine was long gone and she was dating director. Paul Thomas Anderson who's credits include nights and Magnolia okay. Well that's definitely a step up from fucking David fucking Blaine. Oh no ono. This guy sounds like fucking piece of shit. Okay never mind. And also he's now apparently married to Maya Rudolph in has like five with her so I don't know but this guy sounded like I don't know just a a Hoity toity kind of director who thought it was totally cool to like throw chairs across rooms and scream at Fiona for no good reason. Oh and I guess there was like I think the point in time when she realized like Oh this is a bad relationship the two of them were doing coke with Quentin Tarantino and first of all sounds like the most insufferable experience. Oh fucking live anybody's life. The three of them in a room together. Doing Coke and Fiona Apple is the one who realizes you guys are bullshit. Wake Yeah you guys are pretty fucking awful. I that sounds like a nightmare. Yeah to have to do cocaine with Quentin Tarantino and the guy who directed boogie nights. Yeah Sorry Fiona Apple and Coke Prize in great. Yeah probably not she. Although if like gun to my head I'd pick her out of the three. Oh yeah absolutely. Maybe she'd like be really happy. Maybe we were just clean the house together interviews that I've listened to and watched of her She's very excitable. Oh so I imagined Fiona apple on coke is like me on coke. Yeah like we're GONNA do everything today and it's GonNa be fucking fantastic you're gonNA and one of US dies at the end of it is. Yeah it'll be like Frigo rock on acid. Oh that sounds fun to most people. Yeah but it's might be. That's not my idea. Fantastic though romantic relationships in her fragile emotional state were once again major topics on her next album. Critics noted that her words were much more mature sounding and the compositions were more complex interesting. Also complex the title of the album itself. It's usually shortened to when the pawn but the actual name of it is as follows when the pawn hits the conflicts. He thinks like a king where he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight and he'll win the whole thing for he enters the ring. There's no body to batter when your mind is your might so when you go solo you hold your own hand and remember that depth is the greatest of heights and if you know where you stand then you know where to land and if you fall. It won't matter because you'll know that you're right gots unnecessary. It's very long. I don't agree with that. And that's unnecessary. The title is AP- Homefield row in response to an unsavory articles. Spin magazine wrote about her. Nineteen ninety-seven good for you on that one. I mean it sounds lovely but that shouldn't be the name your album. I mean you can shorten it for a while. The album held the Guinness World Record for longest title until Chombo one but album seeded it in two thousand eight way which album. I don't know I think I know which album Mike used. Usta Love Chump Mba. They're like kind of a fun. Folksy Irish band actually yeah. Don't don't judge Tumble Mamba on that. You get knocked at don't again. Hannah perner Shantsev hand. Even that song is kind of a drunken song. Yeah if you're in a bar with the people in our right yeah every regarding Samphan and they referenced Danny boy talk about tape you know taking the Piss pissing the night away which just means you're drinking. Yeah it is. Some people might not know that. Now you do. The album received critical acclaim. However it didn't do anywhere near as well as title. It wasn't until March of this year. Twenty twenty that it was certified platinum. Whoa wow it took a long time. That's crazy so it must have been like her new music coming out made people revisit her old music by this yeah quarantines a crazy time guys feel apple now you know what my quarantine self is really feeling. It did however spawned three singles fast as you can limp and paper bag all. I do like fast as you can. I love limp paper Bag. Those are fantastic songs. All of which had music videos directed by Paul Thomas Anderson but her more mature sound didn't win journalists in skeptics over for long in two thousand and she had an on stage meltdown that the media would have a field day with decrying it as proof that she's basically a crazy defoe. All the incident happened at the Roseland ballroom. Rip Aronie Roseland. God I love the Roseland Greats. Some the B fifty. Two's in the goes with Beth. There I saw a death cab for Cutie. Oh there and pretty girls make graves open for them. Ooh It was fantastic show however at that time. I was like Super Skeptical About Death. Cab just standing in the back leg rolling. My eyes granted if I went and saw kept for Cutie now I would do the same exact thing but I really like the bridge Ashley between those moments like death can yeah. There was like an ebb and flow like around when postal service came out was like you know death camps not too bad and then like after that I was like Nah death cabs garbage though I like just cab but I gotta be in a mood. Oh yeah I here's a cab mood. I have to be in the mood where. I'm okay being transported back to my college years because yeah death cab is one of those bands that instantly puts me back in like two thousand six. And I'm like I don't have to be in a very specific mood. Your two thousand six. Not all of us really needs to be ready for two thousand six. That was a damn year. Damn Smith Graduate College Fiona blame technical issues for bad sound and continuous equipment problems. She gradually lost control of the show visibly and audibly crying on stage and continuously apologize to the audience. After forty minutes she abruptly walked off stage and didn't come back to finish her set. Once again she was labeled an ungrateful Bitch. That wouldn't even take responsibility for her bad performance. But she said she was. Sorry yeah she profusely apologize. I say that's a good job of taking and granted. She was basically becoming unhinged onstage. Belichick sometimes you can't get out of that mental state once you're in it like it's just a spiral and you have to walk away especially if you have a history of mental health issues which she does like sorry. Guys Blake. Maybe she was just having a mental health issue a problem and just couldn't get over it because she was on a stage in front of a huge audience. Yeah that happens. I'm sorry you had to happen in front of you but I think you can suck it up that you paid thirty dollars for a forty minute show like just don't fucking just like have some empathy. I know that's hard. I don't crucify for. It may be trying to understand what she was going through. Pupil are fucking gross and it goes back to what she was saying about this bullshit. Yes that nobody is that I guess I don't even know well adjusted or fake Lee adjusted to not be susceptible to having bad fucking night. Yeah and having a walk away from it as soon as a few people go on the Internet and say this is Bullshit. That hive mind is going to happen where everyone's like. Oh yeah this was garbage. Her show sock she shoulda done more to try and and save it. Maybe she couldn't maybe she felt like she couldn't and just couldn't get out of that. Rut and that's fine pupil or people got fucking happens still. She pressed on with her tour in two thousand two. She broke up with Paul Thomas Anderson and moved into her own apartment in Venice Beach California. Yes Carl here. She would basically become a recluse only emerging from her home to walk around her neighborhood. She didn't have a driver's license so she wouldn't go anywhere opting instead to remain at home with her dog. A pool named Janet. O- I don't know if I like that name like don't name your pets human names. I don't like unless it's super ironic name. I don't know I mean like I've I've had exceptions. Believe what their exception the league. Don't name your your dog Amanda Weird. You're dumb and weird donating your latte. Michael Weird is not a dog's name. It's not I. It's a person's name. I've known several dogs named Maggie get more creative during these hermit years. She's seriously contemplated retiring from making music but she couldn't stop it. Writing was in her bones. In-between sessions writing for a new album oriented with other artists including Johnny cash on covers of bridge over troubled water. Simon and Garfunkel in father and son by Cat Stevens should. They ended up on his last album. That's Jiang cash. Five is either five four five one of them but yeah they ended up all That's awesome also at some point in this timeframe she. It was recently revealed that she had been married to a French.
