British regulator authorize Moderna's updated COVID booster

"British regulators are the first to okay the use of Moderna's updated COVID vaccine The United Kingdom's medicines and healthcare regulatory agency says it has given the green light to a double action adult booster shot a so called bivalent vaccine by Moderna that protects against both the original version of the COVID-19 virus and the BA one omicron variant Regulators described it as a sharpened tool in our armory as the virus continues to evolve and says the mild side effects were similar to the original Moderna vaccine In the U.S. regulators are telling vaccine makers any booster shots adapted for this autumn must include protection against V8 four and BA 5 That's the omicron variant the World Health Organization says is driving the latest global surge I'm Jennifer King

Dr Irwin Redlener: "We Are an Under Vaccinated Country"

"In your opinion where are we now with this? I mean, it seems to me that the BA 5, just and again, it becomes anecdotal. I mean, I'm sure there's statistics you're looking at, but just the amount of friends I have that are double boosted and have gotten it recently is pretty astounding. It's very astounding. It is extremely effective, much more so than former variants. And the other interesting thing about this is that if you look at the data about the number of vaccinated people, it's under 50% that have actually gotten even one booster and around 30% of people that have gotten no more than to then the two original shots. We are an under vaccinated country right now. And the reason we're under vaccinated and we're still getting 400 people at a day dying is because it's become a politically toxic issue. Thank you Donald Trump. I mean, this is what we got. We got maga as the new national experts and whether people should get protected from a public health scourge. And this is where we are now.

We Have Lost the Fight Politically About Vaccines With Dr Redlener

"It is depressing. And I've said this before, that we've obviously lost the fight politically. Do you know what I mean? Like you were saying about vaccines and masking. I mean, and it is insane. I was just telling you, I just heard yesterday. It's the third person I personally know. A friend of mine or a friend of a friend. It got COVID traveling. And I just booked my ticket to go see my mom and go do D.C. sexy liberal. And I'm like, you know, again, I'm double boosted. That's why I wore my shirt for you today. But that is beautiful. Yes, thank you. But you know, that's where we are. I've had to talk a friend into getting her second booster because she's like, oh, I'm gonna wait for the variant specific one. Well, I'm like, no, you need all the protection you can get now because we're in another wave because of the BA 5 sub variant, correct? Yes, it is totally correct. And it used to be till an hour and a half ago that we thought that the omicron specific booster was not going to be available till the end of October sometimes in November. The fact is that I'm just hearing very recently that it might be available next month. You know, if it's really close, if we knew it was coming out two weeks from now, you know, okay, wait. Otherwise, don't wait, get second booster. I mean, look, there's a lot of people that haven't even had the first booster. And the CDC is still calling fully vaccinated to mean just the first two shots, which is not fully vaccinated. We need the damn boosters. Yeah. We do.

"Continuing our COVID special with someone who I consider to be remarkably wise and courageous in our times of confusion, doctor Robert Malone, who I believe has saved millions of lives thanks to his commentary, doctor Malone, welcome back to the program. Charlie, it is such a pleasure to be here and I just wanted to give you a shout out for your amazing leadership over the last couple of years and clarity of thought. I'm honored to be here. Thank you. That touches me. Greatly. And we're in this together. And it seems as if the fight continues. Let's start with BA .5, whatever that is. What is BA .5? Is it more dangerous or lethal than previous variants? And what could possibly be causing this new variant? Is it worth the fear that the media is pushing towards us? What are your thoughts? The 8.5 as well as VA .4 are two current, the most recent escape mutants omicron escape mutants that let's break that down. It sounds kind of technical and scary. What it means is that the force of the mass vaccination campaign plus other people having just generally been infected infected by the prior strains has resulted in a situation where the virus has evolved to escape the preexisting immunity against Wuhan one and against the Wuhan one spike protein. So EA four and BA 5 are evolved escape virus mutants that circumvent both to some extent natural immunity and absolutely circumvent the vaccine induced immunity.

Will Britney Griner Develop a New Love for America?

"I wanted to talk about a developing news story surrounding a young woman by the name of Brittany griner. You probably know her from the WNBA, although I don't know if anybody watches the WNBA. Just jokes, just jokes. These are fantastic women. But Britney griner was actually detained while in Russia. On February 17th for allegedly carrying a marijuana concentrate in her luggage. Now, I was familiar with Brittany griner, not through her work with the WNBA, but because she was dedicated to protesting America, mainly in the name of Black Lives Matter, Brittany griner said that she would be protesting during the national anthem all season for the W and BA. We see this in the form of kneeling during the national anthem, not pledging to the flag, not wanting to show any allegiance or pride for one's country. And many WNBA players followed suit with her. We saw the NBA also participate. We saw football participate virtually every sport. It was starting to be politicized in taking a stance in support of Black Lives Matter. Of course we got many athletes who decided to step outside of that idea. Joshua Jonathan Isaac from the Orlando Magic was one of the many or should I say few, really, who decided to stand during the national anthem and not protest this country. But Brittany griner has fallen into misfortune. She was in Russia. She got detained at an airport for apparently having these marijuana cartridges in her suitcase. And has now been detained there for over 100 days. And suddenly, America is looking real good to Britney kreiner as you might imagine.

New Yorkers Drop Their Covid Vigilance as a BA.5 Wave Hits

"New York Times. So 6 COVID wave hits many New Yorkers shrug it off. Of course they do. We were alarmed when it was alarming. When we were alarmed during the first wave and during delta, then we figured out that omicron is not is far more transmissible and not nearly as deadly. And we stop wearing masks, and many of us, and I still urge you to get vaccinated and boosted. And when they come out with a new booster, I'll go and get that because I don't want to get sick and lots of people have had COVID in my life in the last month. Half and they have a bad cold. So be .5, it's just diluted. It's down in its lethality. It's up in its transmissibility in New Yorkers are treating it like the flu. And like a cold. I'm sure he's got a lot to say about the common Harrison debates last night, but the colonel virus and woke culture are teaching pro sports. Some lessons at the beginning, But when it was all started, Teo to be a collective like we saw pro sports coming back. It was which Which major league organization could out woke the other And which major League organization can best Oh, hold off the at least headlines of our players have Cove. It So that was that was the juggling match that each of them were doing. Major league Baseball came out on fire Major League Baseball said. This is exactly how we're going to do it. This is exactly our quarantine measures and we're going to have a 60 game season. The players. The players Association is all agreed, and we're going to do alternative sites for the playoffs. I mean, they had it dialed in, but they decided to go woke. So they were going to be co opted by Bill and Black lives matter the organization. Not that not that not the spirit of it, not the drive of it, the actual organization the actual logo of BLM. Their input. Be a limit the back of each mound. They were gonna have black unity scarves that that stretched all the way from third base. Tha first base as all the players held them and kneel during the national anthem. And immediately they realized the nation didn't want to see that ratings were nothing. They were a mockery. It was it was not pretty out of the gates. Major league Baseball took a step back and said, OK, enough of that We heard you and we're moving on. We're goingto will sell the back of the mounds for advertising. You know, you see different, different advertised. I'm looking at. I don't know you TZ is, but that's on the current dietary. Tampa Bay, the Yankees game, and that's that's on the back of the mound. They sold that for the back of the mouth. They took away the social justice stuff and actually made some money and ratings through the roof. They're doing great. Everything is Smoove sailing in MLB N BA took a different route. E N BA went all in all players had to wear the black black lives matter Shirt when they're on the bench in warm ups. They had social justice messages on the back of their jerseys. Each court was was painted with black lives matter. They co opted with the actual organization. It doesn't fall in line with the majority of this nation, but they had that organization. I don't know anyone that you would tap on the shoulder and say aside from the organization BLM, do you think black lives matter? Everyone would say yes, The organization is where the N BA co opted. And ratings were abysmal. I mean, they had a super team shooting its way through through the N ba. The Lakers were stacked. The Lakers were a completely bought team. It was an all star team on the court. And it was fun to watch. People wanted to watch it or would have been fun to watch. Nobody watched it. The end came out today with their new announcement. All BLM messaging is going to be removed for the following season. I hate to say I told you so. Actually, I love saying I told you so because it was a bad idea from the start. It was a terrible idea from the start. The N B. A is starting to distance themselves one piece at a time. They didn't say anything about the shirts that were being worn on the sidelines. They just said the courts so far will not be painted with with social justice messaging. Like bl em. Now let's go to the Corona virus side of this, Remember they're spinning two plates. There were how can we be woke? And how can we keep outbreaks from happening with the Corona virus now understand? Professional athletes are not at risk. They're not a high risk group for death or serious illness if they contract Corona virus, But all of these leagues air dealing with optics The optics that they left Stream media has told you is the case they have told you That it is deadly and it will kill you. Governor Cuomo. We played him yesterday, saying it will kill you. So they understand these are Howard our most fit healthy athletes. And if they get cove in 19 is like, okay, maybe I'm no sleep it off for a couple of days and get back to get back out there playing. The NFL Now, how's outbreaks of three teams? We now have positive tests in the New England Patriots, and we have the Tennessee Titans and the Las Vegas Raiders. Still weird to say Las Vegas writers. Now we have positive tests. Now. All eyes are on. Roger Goodell. When are you going to shut it down? What Additional measures. Are you going to be taking? Zealously into the Packers game. They're out there, hug and high five in and they're nobody's wearing mask. They're all hanging out having a good time. What additional measures are you going to take? This is the new way. They there now battling Covad pressure, not covert reality Cove in media pressure. That's where it's coming from. This isn't reality. Because if I'm a pro sports owner and a couple of my guys get covered in my art. Well, I don't have to sleep it off to give him some of the stuff Trump got. I don't care. They're fine. They're going to be fine. And they all are fine. The pro athletes that have come down with it. All of them have recovered or 19 recovered. They just tested negative. There was one guy today who was caught on video who walked by the protesters. Police police by the police. And said. This hope you're ready to bleep and die. Gonna die tonight. I mean, that's that. That's that. That's their version of justice. Anyone in a police uniform needs to die tonight. Or one of you needs to die basically a life for a life. That's the mob mentality that Robert's Tocumen Robinson good point, and it's very much not learning the lessons of history and going backwards. Sometimes the justice doesn't go your way. Especially now. Now there's a way to reform. It was a way to do it. Not by taking to the streets. That's not what's going to change it. In fact, that probably helps the guy you're trying to rally against in Donald Trump. So it's going to be ironic if you help him get elected. Rob, I don't think this was justice not going their way. I think this was justice. The reality of justice, not aligning with their reality or their expectation of justice is what it wass. It wasn't didn't go their way like the ball just bounces the wrong way. They just had a misaligned impression of what justice should be because it was being aligned by LeBron James and Social Media. Get without actually black lives because what nobody knows even still, We don't know what the evidence is because it hasn't been released. So we've all made judgments. Or at least many people in Louisville did. Without seeing the evidence themselves or lack of evidence. But this was done by a grand jury. "Seven U. N. BA franchise with a flair for the dramatic, But how about the end of the first? Eastern Conference. Vitals game. Miami Heat Boston Celtics, Neither of them the top two seeds, but they are athletic. They are balanced. They are game. They are extremely well coached. Not only do they have super stars each one, but they have role players. They have guys who Really enjoy. Or maybe they don't enjoy it. But they have taken to this bubble atmosphere in a way that other teams have not. And it's pretty obvious. But the Miami Heat certainly did carve out a higher degree of difficulty for themselves down 13 points early in the game down 14 points in the fourth quarter to the Celtics. It's on the left wing. He'll drive under the basket to the corner, but step back three. Got it. Jimmy Butler gives Miami the lead 106105 with 22 seconds left to go. Erik Spoelstra hands on his hips. Just watching nine seconds to go. Campbell, picked up by almost potato looks up, sees five seconds to go left side against. Don't pull up three short fun iron and we are going to overtime in Game one. First you hear Mike English on the Heat Radio network and then Sean Grandi on the Celtics radio network, and you'll hear those voices a bunch here over the next couple of minutes, So that's the end of the fourth quarter. The Celtics had struggled in the third quarter of games against the Toronto.

"The Al Sharpton of the N BA because the N Ba Players Association as a committee on reviewing acts of police misconduct is always good to hear from the N B a about how cops should do their jobs. But the challenger is with us now. Sergeant Dan Hills. Welcome to the Bill Cunningham Show Show in, Sergeant. How are you? I'm doing Just fine today, Mr Cunningham. How about yourself? I'm doing well. What challenge are you issuing to? LBJ of the Los Angeles Lakers. Mama, I'm putting it out there Toe. Tio LeBron, You know, I noticed that he is a leader amongst these athletes. You know, after he kneels after he comments on the police officers and their and their work and their use of force, it seems like all the other athletes solemn, Joey Votto is falling jumper is falling. All of them seem to follow Mr LeBron James. And so I asked Mr LeBron James, for Ah, a little one on one, but not on the court because I only have a limited I have limited abilities. They're very limited. I saw the photo you posted of a 59 white guy with high tube socks. Not looking good. And a headband. Not good. No, no, no. I mean, you know, I did play for my ninth grade. Same huge team. We want to see why Oh, Championship that you're William. My butt was planted firmly on the bench for out the year but it was without my spirit of that team. I do not think we would have beaten same Williams in the championship. I think. I think I was needed. But you know, in this case where what's needed is for LeBron Since he's a leader, he's Joan Be a leader of the professional athlete here in America. He needs to get some perspective. He needs to come. To Cincinnati because we have the finest police department. We have trying to Police academy and he needs to go through what we call our fat simulators. Uh, it's actual scenarios that you get put through. And they've become shoot. Don't shoot scenarios and they're tough. They're tough on a better officer like myself. They're tough on our sharpest youngest officers and that they're tough even though you don't get shot and killed when you're in a simulator, and you don't fire a shot that gets you prosecuted or sued. It's just It's just really good training and see if that gives you a little perspective. Then we could do our simulation, which is we're actually out their role playing and we actually have guns and actors, everything. But we shoot more or less like a paintball put put officers and real high stress situations we can put Little over LeBron free some of those and then and then we could take him out to get a ride with our officers. And then he could talk to our officers about these judgments that he's made of police officers across the country as I put my little Post that's been shared over 500 times. Now, Um you know, I think that might be is hard or harder than men guarding Stefan Curry Tio defend some of the things that he says without any perspective, without any idea of what he's talking about, because You know, I don't know for sure what all happened in Wisconsin will withhold judgment. But I think there's a possibility that we could find out that that was a justified shooting on then what are we going to do? Then? You know we've Shut down the en bas playoffs. We've shut down the MLB games and we've shut down soccer games and we've done all these things because of you know, again, LeBron leadership. Says it's a light thing to do to get out there and protest protest Protest Protest The black lives matters protests for war. You know these These people who have been Shot and police uses 1/4 day and without any without any real knowledge whatsoever about Whether or not they are legitimate. Uses a force or not, And you know that statistics twister coming. I know I really dying on the streets of Cincinnati, Chicago. Minneapolis and all these other places where so many are dying on the streets. It is not at the end of police know and I I think LeBron knows that. I don't know why he's decided to take this political activism that he has Americans. And great to LeBron. I'm sure he probably grew up some tough times and whatnot. But But the country has been great him and I would I would like if we took all my challenge, he has yet to see my jump shot, Mike. I don't know about that. Well, you know if I could lose a few pounds, and I could probably get up a little higher, maybe. But what Sergeant Dan? And the fact the matter is, is that their specific rare acts of police misconduct that do take place but the great majority of times, 99% or more more than 99%. There's the proper use of force, but If your policies have failed in the major cities if you have liberalism that has run amok. If you have police officers and major urban areas that all have been hired and trained and so called discipline by liberal Democrats for 50 to 100 years, and none of that is working. Systemic racism is something that cannot be proved or disproved. What it says essentially is we don't know what's going on. But there's one guy in South Carolina with a gun with with Walter Scott or somebody else with a gun somewhere. Did something wrong there for all the cops are responsible. But to take specific acts of individual misconduct and to cause a general statement that we have racist cops. Every morning. I watch ESPN and Fox sports and all the commentators are jumping down your throat on a regular basis about what you're doing. What you're not doing by any fair estimate. Whether is the Washington Post our Harvard Or University of Maryland or Michigan State. They keep records of these things. The improper use of police force is and maybe aslo is 10 to 20 times incidents, 10 incidences or 20. In a situation where there's millions of contacts every day, it is extremely rare to have any police misconduct. Place..

"Games. Were postponed yesterday as in solidarity with the N BA players. Major League soccer. Sammy Osaka. The tennis player didn't play with true from the tournament that she's playing in in solidarity with the MBA players. WN BA players didn't play yesterday. Now, if you're just joining us the enormous news from our agent Jordanovski and he was live with us right off the top of the show today. That they have decided to resume the playoffs. Thursday's three playoff games will be postponed. Discussion underway on wind teams will resume the resumption of playoff games could come as soon as tomorrow. There is expected to be a return to this season by the weekend. Will be another meeting later today with two players per team present is also a meeting of N. Ba owners and players set for later today. Discussion is expected to include plans of action moving forward on social justice issues. So that's the news again. We got it literally as we were coming on the air here. I did not get to say most of the things that I had planned to say at the beginning of the show. And so here's what I was going to say at the very beginning of this show. I believe we start by announcing where we stand. Going to listen to conversations like these, then you should know where people come from. I'm all for everyone having their opinion, and you're entitled to yours, and I'm gonna tell you mine. I stand with the players. I stand beside them. I stand behind them. If it helps. I stand in front of them. That's first. I don't know all of the right things for them to do right now, But I know the expectation cannot always be to get everything right. That is an unfair burden that we place on people in 2020. We look at every little tiny thing that you can pick apart about the way a person chooses to do something. In order to keep from having to pay attention to what he or she is trying to say. What about this? But what about that? Forget about this and that listen to what they're saying. And most importantly, listen to the way they're saying it. The MBA players, Hearts are in the right place. That is obvious if you are paying any attention, any tiny parts of this that they get wrong along the way will be because they're human beings and thus are in perfect. At an imperfectly messenger should not make you ignore the message. The ENDA players are standing together as one and they're doing it under extraordinary circumstances. Living in a pandemic. They're in a bubble. They've been isolated away from their friends, their families and everything about their lives for six weeks. They're playing games down there that mean lot. That means everything. Actually, they mean more in their own way than any games at the N B a has ever had before in its entire history, when you consider what the consequence would have been of this season, never resuming They do it against a backdrop of civil unrest in turmoil in the streets in this country, the likes of which we have not seen since I was a little kid. That was a very long time ago. So I think they're doing great. I take If I were wearing a hat, I would take my hat off to them. I salute these young men who have mortgage guts than almost any of the people who are trying to pick apart tiny little pieces of what they're doing and what they're saying in order to accomplish their actual goal, which is to ignore their message. I'm not telling you. You have to agree with their message. I'm telling you, if you ignore their message, then you were doing them a disservice. They're entitled to say what they want to say. And I think they're doing extraordinarily well. And again, I think they give me a level of hopefulness for the future of this country, which means a lot to me for a lot of reasons that most significant of which is that on a parent of two young people. I see it in them, and I see it my hear it and them and their friends. They're growing up completely differently in a completely different environment than I did and that people in my generation did. And it's going to be for the best, and these players are making a difference. There's no question they're making a difference. And so again, I will say. At one of the things that I would love to see change in this country in this world. Is the burden we place on everyone. To be perfect or be ignored. If you're going to ignore something, someone says, because off any tiny little misstep they make, then you will never listen to anyone saying anything, George not in agreement with And then we never get anywhere. That's how we got here. Wondering how we got here. That's how we got here. We got here. By ignoring things other people were saying, because we didn't want to hear them and we found reasons. To justify ignoring them. That's exactly how we got here. So I'm not telling you that if you disagree with the method four years to the day yesterday Was the first time Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the playing of the national anthem before an NFL game. It was a pre season game, he sat You subsequently met with An NFL player who had been military and they Agreed that it would be more respectful to Neal, and that's how the kneeling began. Four years to the day, which is a coincidence and nothing more than that. And I'm not. But what I'm trying to say is that I'm not sitting here telling you But you have to like what he did. What I am telling you is To ignore his message, as a result of it is doing a disservice to the entire concept. Of dialogue in this country, and we will never get anywhere if we keep doing it. Is a reasonable nous that I think can be expected of people if we're going to have a society that functions in a meaningful way. And that's what's happening here. And it frustrates me to hear that people who are saying but the players did this and they did that. Yeah, they're not perfect. No one is perfect. We're all in perfect. The imperfection of the messenger should not be a reason to discount the message. Meanwhile, what the players have chosen to do now in my personal opinion. Is the right thing to do. For any number of reasons..

"That I tune in to watch on TV. How many of them do they include the national anthem before the game starts if I if I'm turning into a game that starts at four o'clock? And they do the pregame analysis and they previewed the game and then they go right to puck drop, where they go right to first pitch and on the television broadcast with the radio broadcast. They don't give you the national anthem. Are you disappointed? Are you miffed? Are you outraged by that? I know I'm not So I don't need it. I think a lot of people took it for granted. And maybe didn't Leo. I think Someone that loves this country and loves living here, and I know it's not a perfect country and they're obviously things we should work to change and do better at and there should be a lot of conversation and discussion about it. Okay. I'm gonna acknowledge all of that. This is Not the perfect countries in perfect, but I do like I do enjoy living here. And I and I do feel that way. I do feel a certain way about America. I don't need professional sports. To be my beacon. My guiding light. I don't need them to be my symbol. For patriotism. I can find other ways to be patriotic. On my own time. I could put a flag outside of my house. I can put some recognition. Something about being an American. That is important on my social media page or Really within recent anywhere I want So I'm bringing this up because Now so much time is being spent. And I bet there is you but you would not be able to believe The amount of consideration in time. That the NHL, the N ba Major League baseball and soon the NFL How many bigwigs For these leagues have had to spend time. Thinking about all right? We got to get this anthem thing. We've got to get it right. We've got to make sure We respect everybody. We've got to make sure we don't gloss over or ignore these very important social justice issues. We still have to play the anthem and so much time has been spent on that right now. I just wonder how much it really even matters to you. If If you're about to tune into an MBA game. I didn't see it because I walked into the studio. So I just missed that moment. I don't even know if it was aired on television. Nuggets Heat earlier today. If, and this might have happened? I don't know For sure, though. This is speculative on my part if both teams Now for the national anthem. Would your reaction be one of applause. Way to go N ba This MBA is doing such a great job with this. They deserve all kinds of plaudits in awards and prays for how they're handling this if everybody stands, and it's just your classic traditional anthem. Is it met with outrage is it met with disappointment? By you is a fan. I know I know for me. You were trying Teo in like two or three minutes. We're trying to use force to send a message, I guess. I guess we're the sports things they're trying to say in this 92nd 2 minutes. Package that they are aware of things that are going on outside of their own for lack of a better term bubble. So I guess I'm openly wondering here and Contemplating whether or not the national anthem before the sporting events has run its course. Where it's a. It's a point of controversy or dissension or disagreement. Do we really need that? Do we do we need more division right now is who does it Serve or who is benefiting from? An MBA player, deciding I'm going to stand for the anthem and having to get into it with other MBA players about his decision, Drew Brees, who did say something that was insensitive and disrespectful to others, but has to take time again today. To address it and apologize. The NFL is probably sitting here when they got a bunch of things on its play like hello. Are you going to be able to control The Corona virus spread in play games. They're also taking time probably about thinking about how they're going to present the national anthem, how they want their television partners to treat it. And is that really something that even matters in registers? Right now? I have my doubts. National anthem used to be as the Ph. P address announcer. The public address announcer would say this is something to honor America. This is something to bring everybody together in for the last half decade or so. It has done the exact opposite of that. So I am asking you. Is it still worth doing? Dividing athletes dividing fans. Is it really worth it? Do we need to get our patriotism Do we need To spend time. Celebrating quote unquote America before tip off or face off or kick off first pitch. I'd love to hear from you on this. 855 to 1 to four, CBS 855 to 124227 Your opinion. Playing the national anthem before sporting events. We're seeing it with the N B. A in the NHL, and every team is trying to be very delicate about it and strike the right balance and be respectful and do the right thing and make everybody feel good about it. And not, but But it is. I mean, somebody's gonna offend. We've got that in the embassy and Drew Brees seems to have lost a lot of sleep over and it's still Trying to backpedal and explain himself. "But if you think about the vanity of the N E N ba M v P I believe the honest has a good chance to go ahead and win the award. Because it's not about who is the best player. It's about who the most valuable player is to his franchise. And it's hard for me to say, I think both teams would would suck without each respective guy. I think he is a walking contender all by himself. Regardless of what scene he goes to In the end a at the same time. The reason why I don't think it will go to LeBron, although I like him, too. It's not a lifetime achievement award. You can't look at everything that LeBron has done over the course of his career and say Just because you're LeBron James, we're going to give you the MVP. I just asked a few simple questions of Adam Silver. Why is it that you can't put three Hong Kong in the back of the jersey for that matter If you're a fan, you can't buy a customized NBA jersey, says Hong Kong or criticizes China. That's outrageous and ESPN response to that is first to tell me F you in second. To stay. Okay. We'll just quit asking will suspend reporters asking more questions, Not fewer questions, and somebody needs to be standing up to the now he's a regular American. He's from Missouri. That's the great American Midwest, the Heartland, and he still understands what is obvious and what is not. And that is a problematic area for a lot of people on the left and really, morality has become so tangled on the left and so twisted. It's such a wreck that they don't know which end is up anymore. Senator Joshua Lee on the N B. A. And he's talking about silver, the N B a commissioner like Hey, Wait a minute, you guys, You're OK with the slavery thing right? And Nike. Same thing. You're You're okay with all this. Using Chinese weaker Muslim minority slave labor shipped around the country, Teo be forced to work in factories for nothing but bare subsistence and and being watched over by armed guards 24 hours a day. That's called slavery, Son, and here's the Senator Jack. It's quite an interesting juxtaposition to put things on the back of the Jersey The social justice message is supposedly that have a particular anti police anti cop. Rings to them, But you can't put on the back of the jersey anything questioning China, for that matter. You can't put support our troops on the back of the jersey You can't put back the blue on the back of the Jersey N ba corporate won't approve those slogans, so I didn't think that it is pretty telling when it comes to these just other justice issues supporting our troops standing up to China of the MBA won't allow that. I think that tells you a lot. Yeah, it does Tell you a lot. Take a quick.

"Off of a W N ba team knows nothing about the WN BA Adam Silver could have a bucket of money. Out on Fifth Avenue and could burn it. As efficiently as the WN BA has been It is not a profitable venture. It is not a money making venture. It is not something where the WN BA is earning its keep. Where the WN BA is paying its own way. No, it's not. So let's just keep the conversation, honest, because guess what Both sides have valuable things to say. But anybody trying to spin that well, she's profiting off of all of know She could take money in the back of her estate in Georgia and just burn it. And be just effective. In fact, why do these people own And WN BA teams. Why do these individuals decide to own these kind of ventures? Go back to your business classes in college. Why did they do it? They do it because it's a great right off. It's a great way to get a little relief on their tax burden. That's why they're doing it. Because there's nothing about being a W. N B owner that says all man We're buying a W N b a team and now we're going to get rich. So I confronted Shaquille about it on the podcast, Anthony. He said. To me, WNBA's where we discuss the topic, and he said no, WNBA is great, and I said Okay, shack. The Atlanta franchises. They're looking for an owner, then step up shack. That's what I told him. And it starts on the way we'll what we'll owe. You just told me it's a great venture. So why did you buy it? He's a smart businessman. You know, if shack thought it was a good operator really jumped in the city of Atlanta. He jumped right on it. And he goes, I could work some of my shack magic around the team. I said, there is no doubt in my mind. That a shack bought the Atlanta dream. And he could make them the most popular team in the WNBA. There's no doubt in my mind, he's still not gonna make money. He's still not going to make money. But let's just be honest about the conversation. If we're gonna have the conversation, let's just be honest. Nobody is profiting owning a WNBA team. It is like it is honestly, it's taking your 401 k and lighting it on fire. That's what it is. So let's be honest. It is not a profitable venture. It is Amoral Vah goodwill venture honestly is what is what, how this sport is. It's a good will venture. The way it works. The There is a problem, though. We talk about this topic and if I could Anthony here once again from the very esteemed I guess he's a doctor. Now you're going to listen to it himself. Gregg Popovich talked when he arrived in Orlando. Pops talked about arriving in the bubble and everything like that. I didn't know he was a doctor, but obviously he's gotten a medical degree. In the time that he's been off here from intellectual point of view and a medical point of view, I would have to say not probably, but I am safer here. If this bubble works, I'm safer here than I would be in Texas. Uh, for sure, And you see what's going on there and since the decision was made to do this to start the season again, Under these circumstances, with all the precautions What a great opportunity To make Race a upfront Basically most important Activity. That happens on a social level while we're here. Oh, boy. See, this is where I think it's it's dangerous. The ENDA people are dying to see the embassy come back. Wanting to be entertained, wanting to see LeBron do his thing wanted to see Ko. I do its thing wanted to see if the Milwaukee Bucks and Johannes are truly the best team in the MBA. But according to the intellectual And medical..

"That's great. Used the Ah, the spotlight that is on professional sports for good If it if it gets more political than that, then you're going to see a lot more people on our last caller who are annoyed by it, But I mean, you know they are they going to allow a political slur of slogan A Sze to defund the police on the back of a N. BA Basketball jersey? I don't. I mean, I would be surprised if that happened better. There's no way there's no way I can't. I can't imagine that Well to me. It's more like it's one of the things that are coming out now, and this is this is right. But that hasn't been want to get into it. I mean, But that's it. But that's not been said to be on an N BA jersey. I mean that that's what's going to be on an MBA jersey. I'm telling you, this all started and unfortunately, sometimes is this gets lost. It all started because of a police brutality situation that happened in Minneapolis. This is where it all started, and now where it's going to and where it's headed. No. The fund of police is one of the big growling points. We saw it again yesterday with a pride parade right here in New York City. People screaming at the top of their lungs at the police, who are just trying to do theirjob and keep everybody safe. You know, they're trying to allow people to. You know when they shouldn't be. They don't have a parade permit yet. They're still having parades. And they're and they're They're just to keep people healthy because you know why. Guns are going off at a record rate right now. You know it. I know what the facts state you know, I keep hearing Governor Cuomo talking about facts and facts and and how we flatten occurred Well, there's a lot of other facts that are going on right now that nobody seems to really want to discuss. Yeah. Yeah, I would. You know, I'm just telling you that One of the big issues now is defunding the police. That is a political show, but I'm not ready to York City. Yeah, I know. But I'm not ready to say all of a sudden that that's going to end up on a jersey that it could. Don't end up on the back of these Juries Love. You said it right there. You don't know. So let's not just assume that it wants. If it was on there than Yeah, then we'd have something to talk about The NBA's. Also the players have done Think about the difference between the players in the N B, A and a players in the NFL and how that has been looked at, like there's been like Whether it was the Chinese issue where they didn't tackle that. Head on. Really? There was certainly a I don't wanna mess around with that little thing like you really don't want to say something like that and mess around with the Chinese money like they're always pretty smart about, like towing a line where they're not going to alienate. A lot of their audience when it comes to political statements they have done like the top players in the league. Feel a certain way about things when it comes to know, standing for the anthem, different types of thing. I know LeBron war. I can't breathe after Eric Garner that was like for one of the warm ups. I remember during the Donald Sterling thing. The Clippers put their warmup jerseys inside out, but it's been, You know smaller demonstrations like that. I know the world has changed since then. But I personally looking into the future think that it would be the stuff that you may see. Will beam or of a. It's hard to argue with that sentiment, as opposed to something that is highly debatable, politically charged and going to piss a lot of people. Well, I think that would be a question that the media will have to ask Adam Silver. Okay, you want to put social justice messages on the back of your jersey is instead of your names, one of those messages going to be as they're going to be You know, you know, restrictions put on those things. I don't I don't know that I haven't seen that. I just heard that they're able to do that. I don't know what those messages will be. Hopefully, they'll be something along the lines altogether were better something along those lines. I don't know Necessarily that it will be the case for all athletes who knows, But I do know this, and this goes back to the last call or talking about sharing your wealth. You know, with somebody that doesn't make much money as you do. I don't know how many times I have said on this radio show that LeBron James has done more for those kids in Akron, Ohio. Then you could have ever asked any athlete to do We're going to school he put together this point. That's what I'm pointing out. I'm just saying that a lot of these players are community minded, and they do get the companies that they are involved in. Involved in their own community. So I'm not, you know, he does do that away from the court, and he does it probably better than anybody and with more power than anybody, because he is the greatest basketball player in the world, and he does. He's probably worth 1/2 a $1,000,000,000 if not more than that. So there is a part of him that he does all the right things away from the basketball court and does try to help people and does try to make a difference in the of those kids lives. On bears the other part where you know some people do have a problem with it because he voices these opinions and because people want him to be political now, you know, he gets lauded for those things, so I could only hope that when they go back to playing basketball That it is, you know,.
