"Is Bloomberg. Thiss is the business of sports from Bloomberg Radio. Well, thanks so much for joining us. We're here each and every week for you at the same time talking to the biggest names in sports. I'm Jason Kelly, along with Mike Lynch. And Michael Bar. Let's get right back to our conversation with Dr Myron Rolle College standout former NFL player now literally operating on people's brains, and we're delighted. To have him with us. So Myron talk to us a little bit. He's sort of widening the aperture a little bit. Talked to us about this virus and where we are. I mean, you are on the front lines as so many healthcare workers. First responders have been You have seen things that we have not seen. You understand it medically from the broadest sort of societal perspective, and maybe the narrowest in terms of what you see what don't we know? And what should what's the most important thing for us to know about this virus right here in October, 2020. Yeah, The virus is very infectious says I think a lot of us do you know the transmission rates are very high and it can get transmitted airborne. It was debated on whether it was airborne and out, but we think we've Excited, excited enough and have enough data points of data entries. Tio realize that this may be another mode of transmission contact was all those droplets. Um, we know that it hits vulnerable populations. People who are sick. A baseline was compromised immune systems and older individuals. However, it does also individuals who are poor actress to care. And that's the health disparity that exists amidst all diseases. Basically, any emerging non communicable disease are digestive health, You know, tumors or whatever the case may be people who have neglect or just maybe just don't have access to primary care physicians to supervise her monitor. Their symptoms are getting hit really hard, and we're seeing that here. It's a disease and really affects the lungs for sure can scar. The ones want to get into the angiotensin, converting in time sort of spaces, which are your lungs and can make oxygen recruitment. An oxygen consumption very difficult. So this requires a lot of individuals. Take care of these patients are Children better, all fighting this disease than adults? So preliminary studies and study that we've seen a road brought actually have shown that Children are carriers, but there they don't have the same level of morbidity mortality with Old mentality I should say from the virus. That's not to say that with that they may not have long term effects, and I think that's a thing also has to be Really emphasize here. Is that yes, the viruses time we get over the time where you can get through it that time where potential you've recovered. But what does that look like? Going forward? Would that look like We're auctioning capacity as you move to three years away from this current pandemic. Does that mean that you're not gonna be able to expand your lungs that mean memory problems and neurological deficits Maker? Are you kidney's gonna be an issue as well? Your other body systems organs need toe work Still, um, it's you know, saying come in 19. And so how are these things gonna be in a suspected? I think only time will tell that so. I feel that the rush to return our economy returned to some sense of normalcy Really? Takes a very superficial and shallow look at well. What happens long term affecting these? These patients, and I think Children are include Klute, including that conversation because we've seen them positive. But maybe don't die or have the same level of brutality and some of the older individuals. Myron, you told us and we're going to send somewhat New England Patriots once he's over for the twins have started with the right team, but but I can only imagine your fear level going home to a pregnant wife every night when you're on the front line of this thing every single day. I mean, how did you handle that mentally? It was very difficult. In fact, when ah Toya was 1st 1st let me back up. She told me that she was pregnant. When I finished on operation. I was in the operating room. That's where all the White House okay, never could be good when they're calling into the operating room and tells me Hey, I'm pregnant. Oh, my God. Thank you. So much is amazing. It's a blessing from God. Shows. But there's two ho what is really not that now the surgery went very well. And then that news was amazing. Two souls like a double hit that day, and when you know it's hard to really come through our city in Boston on I started to work these 24 hour shifts every other day, basically. I actually sent her away. And that was challenging. I sent her home to Georgia, where she's from to be with her sister and her brother in law. Um and sort of, you know, I just communicated our via, faced on the whole time did not want Aid to put her Omer are yet born Children any risks, and I was taking all the risk myself. I wanted that so there's very hard emotionally eventually, but I try to stay close to her close to my face that praying about it and you know, she checked in with me all the time, and it was difficult to another. One told part of the story of health care workers going to there's the families and the strain that exists there, and it certainly was present with us as well. We'll stay tuned for more of our conversation with Dr Myron Rolle. That's straight ahead on Bloomberg. Business of Sports. Jason Kelly. Find me on Twitter at Jason Kelly News and I'm Mike Lynch. You can follow me at lynching. WCVB. Don't worry, doctor. We'll send you some Lions one says to no Twitter and big bars Fords. "Contract, if it's a breach of contract, then all the guaranteed millions. And millions down the road. That guy's already guaranteed. That's potentially all wiped out to do. The players have any leverage, and it's just like the punitive renewal. How the players have no say they're the MLB. Owners can do whatever they want. Is this that same type of situation like when the MLB owners finally just want to say now we're done. This is what's happening. They can do that. Yeah, I, mean unfortunately for the players. If you strike in the middle of a collective bargaining agreement it is going to get taken to a judge in. It is going to get overturned instantaneously, and you're going to be right back to work, and the players recognizes which is why they have acknowledged that if rob Manfred the commissioner of baseball institutes. Remember that's part of their march agreement that rob Manfred can set the season at whatever he wants in. They're trying to find a happy medium here and get to an agreement on what that season is if they can't do that though MLB is GonNa play that forty game season, and there's nothing that the players can do about it except file a grievance, and that's where it gets really ugly. Pat In! That's where. where it gets really dirty in in the grievance room, there's going to be all sorts of discovery requests and map GONNA be for MLB's financials, and that's going to be for the players Association's communications during this whole thing, and it's just going to set a really bad precedent going into two thousand and twenty one when the collective bargaining agreement does expire after which we could see a lockout or a strike. Baseball's dead. Baseball's debt if they can't come to a collective bargaining agreement, which let's assume they'll be able to, but in baseball takes a lot of people I mean there's a lot that has to happen in baseball I don't. This is not good ties our local baseball fan. We don't have a lot. You know there's not a lot of baseball fans out there. Here is a diehard baseball fan in Thai Schmidt. In while you were speaking over there. He was just sighing like he's not happy about any of this because the baseball. Baseball fans are seeing other leagues NHL Twenty. Four team tournament. They got Vegas locked down. They're not sure what's going to happen. Whether it's Toronto of candidate can get off the fourteen day. Quarantine seems like Columbus will probably be the NHL figuring this out there. Players back on the ice. They're doing independent. Skates sticks on a pox and everything of that nature. Then you look at the MLS. They just okay to fifty four Game Tournament World Cup style in the same place at the NBA is going to do a. Team Tournament so the baseball. Fans are sitting here seeing all this happen all of this happened, and then you're hearing the authority on baseball. Basically be like. Well, there's GonNa be some grievances and there's going to be this and there's a new. CBA is not a good time to be a baseball Fan Jeff. Here. Here's my question for you a pat, we. Do like a deer path life, advice, segment column whatever it is. Michael Here's my question for dear pat doctor. If, baseball goes away Dr Pat. Thank you. What do I do with my life well, here's a good thing for you. Jet although your life has been completely revolving around baseball for my knowledge of your existence. Okay, so since I've known that you have existed on my television with incredible suits, a great fake backdrop, cool albums in the back, but the words that were coming out of your mouth. We're always good baseball stuff. It was knowledgeable stuff set in a fashion that kept me engaged so although your entire existence in my head, and probably a lot of people's is directly correlated to baseball. I think because of how well you've. You've made a sport that is basically insufferable to watch kind of sound entertaining. You'll be able to do that with any other sports. So for you Jeff I think you're in a good spot, but for those diehard baseball fans who hate every other sport and they'll think you're that way. Jeff Mike a guy that loves competition. Love sports loves athleticism. You just take in a big piece of your heart to America's past I think you'll be able to figure out how to cover another sport and a beautiful fashion, but for the fans that love baseball more than anything. They're going to be in a bad spot. That'll be seven hundred dollars. And? That's what. He's getting. It's it's. It's amazing that you can charge seven hundred dollars for for an answer that said absolutely nothing. I appreciate it. Very well done. Psychology. and. That psychology baby. That's business. What would happen? We're not talking about a potential nonexistence of the MLB I assume if let's say, let's go doomsday. Hey, let's do again here, we. Can't figure it out. They get so jaded at each other new. CBA CAn't come to an agreement. You missed the twenty twenty season, 'cause covid nineteen, and then not being able to figure out business. You missed twenty twenty one because you're not being able to figure out business. What happens after that? Is there another league that forms? Is There Vincent Man? xfl baseball that comes out like what would it be? How do you fix this problem? Because the MLB owners know we're the only game in town. Literally in the whole world, people come to play in our league. Is Awesome, the dino got hot bats, even though they lost this morning. The deuce on bears I. Mean that was upset that none of us expected, but aside from that the MLB has a monopoly on this thing. How do the players fix any of this? I think that they fix this. They have to understand and I'm talking the players and the owners. If they don't get a deal done within the next week, herself were looking at a forty eight game season. If we're looking at a forty eight game season, that is step one in your doomsday scenario playing out if the doomsday scenario plays out I, mean could you know it's scary to think? Pat About Twenty twenty one when we're not? Not, sure fans are going to be back in the stands in the whole question of economic feasibility pops up again and we're going in playing this entire song and dance one more time, so then you're GonNa have an issue in twenty twenty one, and then you don't have a collective bargaining agreement after the season, and it's going to be coming on the heels of a dead free agent period. I was talking about the player yesterday is. is going to be a free agent this off season and he's like. How bad is it going to be? And it's probably going to be pretty bad I. mean teams are deems are just you know they're not going to have anywhere close to the same amount of revenues coming in, and they're not going to want to put large long contracts on their books, because there is such uncertainty not for the next year not for the. The next two years. This is something that's going to have fallout five years down the road, and in when it comes to, I mean when you see these sides fighting over a marginal couple, hundred millions of dollars with in the Grand Scheme Things Pat Considering the revenues that baseball make is not that much. Imagine what it's going to be like when they're fighting over. The billions of dollars are at stake for the years to come. I just don't see because.

Everyone gave me has everything Samson goes against. CAP Always, saying hey man like hey I'm having a rough day. This is a tough one today like that's was saying all you saying now I'm. You might know you know more than I do. I think. He thought he was seeing a particular coverage. That didn't turn out to be the particular coverage. I thought it was going to be right. He thought he was seeing things that he was not seeing and that's why he say I'm seeing ghosts. Is that what you think? He meant there yet I think maybe he saw some unscheduled looks that they weren't prepared for like that you go in with your whole plan. Plan okay this whether like to do on third shortage with do on first out all these things then all of a sudden gets in the game, and things are happening a little quicker. quit any thought. They're not disguising coverages like they were the week before that like all these things and he's like. Yeah all right way then they got me. She'll here for a moment. I gotTa to find a way to get my. Mean I had mono, but that was nothing ever these fucking ghosts. It does. Don't know why it shouldn't be that like such a huge deal. Brooks Koepka up to the t box here, par-five, five, sixty, eight, whole one with a great mustache. The former hockey player hits a quarter fucking mile in he in the mustache like that one. I'm glad golf is back rather something they all roughened adul- now is talking on it lows right by Rory mcilroy ball to be right in the center of the fairway. Congrats Holy Shit that doesn't look like that's RAF. Oily his headband. This is a good idea about the PGA to try to bring everybody into this thing. To talk about it and what they probably out and asked a bunch of different athletes to. Self videos introducing players. I think it's a good idea. Got here and obviously the intro macro month things I think this is a good idea by Dolph this a good idea when well with the match to having coca-cola and all those guys who were just watching at home. That's why what you're saying. It's good for golf because you're envisioning. Yourself. Get an email. Hey, PAT! You might putting yourself on camera here for a little bit to introduce tiger, woods. skews me. I'm going to get better at golf and you'll see me fucking plane an attorney. Okay? How anybody so you're doing okay I get straight you're you've got a busy fall. You're playing Major League baseball now. No excuse me doll. Who J. T. did WANNA be Mike, but almost hold one APP from about one fifty. Sorry! No I mean you're saying. You're playing major league. Baseball is a scab now. You'RE GONNA. Be Winning a championship with Los Angeles Lakers Bingo next to Lebron, James, and now something I. Didn't know you're going to be on the PGA tour now. That's ten twenty years down the line. I got nothing but time with golf. You can play until you're ninety. Depp. Yeah, there's a lot of like sixty year. Olds on the to a really win a bunch of tournaments. Freddie couples boom couples in thinking about how many swings I don't have anyone see I can do Jordan speeches. He just just one about a foot and a half in front of their. I don't have as many swings on my body. I'm still fresh. The body still fresh. You think your body's fresher than these golfers that didn't grow up lasting themselves against other humans. Well. That is a valid point that I did not consider. Jordan speak. For Par after dumping. A flop shot. Representing under armor, not as much hype around Jordan anymore under armor needs to build up a his brand, because Jordan was the monster for a couple of years he'll get back to that form, but she like David Duff to promote him in his shoes and his clothing, his shoes and clothing kind stink. That's why and I think that's why nobody's really promoting it, but under armour has made leaps and bonds from the terrible designs. Designs that they've had into the next generation, but everybody says Jordan spieth. He was the next one remember Jordan was the next one there for a little bit? We got this kid from Texas. His math teachers his caddy. He's the guy he's an American. He's good. He makes things exciting again and then Kinda just fell off. The first time you get successful is difficult. I honestly believe that that is something. I said that earlier. Earlier I think it's true I think the first time you're successful can be a little bit difficult for people to handle Jordan speech very successful very quickly. Will he be able to get back to that? That is the question agent will get back to it, but he's about golf to this. Do was playing PGA tournaments. When he was in high school, he would play. They would let give an exemption to the the tournament. Tournament in Dallas where he's got his high school buddies cheering him on. He's playing well, so he was so good, so young and base earn in golf is such a weird sport. Where one day you could shoot eighty next day. Shoot Sixty two. Can you imagine when you're all of a sudden? You're not playing well for a full season or to like he's been doing and trying to figure out a swain. That'd be brutal. Mental at Twenty one or twenty two. And Two Thousand Fifteen, he won the master's, and then he won the US Open and came in second at the PGA he he was on top of the world then, and then lately fell off for whatever reason, maybe we're not turn this into a Jordan speed, hate fest, but if you're on a little bit better decorated design stuff, more people would wear it, but our Guy Justin Thomas, just GonNa. He's playing. Good Golf. Americans round up four of the top. You do the math eight spots. Justin rose didn't know he was from another country. He's playing great golf. You didn't know you didn't know that Europe I've no idea he is. He's from. That one gold medal. He won the gold medal for us now. England. He's not from America. I didn't know if you wanted to say what citizenship governor here with the for the American squad couture didn't Cuccia win bronze for the Americans? Yes Matt I matt. Who won the silver? Tire probably. He wasn't there. When did golf get out of the Olympic Games recently right within the last couple Olympic last Olympics. Some golfers not go. WAS IT in Brazil? Is that right? Yeah, because of Zeka hard remember Zeki. Something around these Olympic. Interesting Henrik stents in one the. was done. Would you rather win a gold, medal and Golf, pat or the masters? How much money does a masters give you? Over a mill just in winnings, and then it will greatly boost everything else in your your golf life with it comes endorsements and everything all of it. If I want to go meadow I have the ability to win the masters as well Gimme American gold medal now hopefully get some sponsorships off. They'll make some money, and then I'll go into masters next. Okay what about you? I'll take the master's. The jacket over the metal while I don't care about the trophies at that meeting, but I. I want to win the masters first and then go get my gold medal. "Work on the morning and you're on enforcing the evening. My kids to be out there. I'M GONNA teach my kids fish. Fuck is this man that's not. A. It's not. Is it on the live? No, there's twitter broadcasts which is just a podcast while it's being aired. It seems like there's rucker and Golden. Revenue podcast conversation there and on TV. It's regular commentary I. Like it I think it's a smart idea to have a twitter broadcast TV broadcasts, not will we just heard was the highlight of the whole thing. I think that's not a bad idea. Yeah, it's a great idea. I mean I would imagine if you played. Different clips of our four hour fifty minute drap show. There's plenty of times where people are going I. Don't know if that's the most entertaining thing. But the NFL also wasn't putting us out there. We were putting ourselves out there. The PJ's putting this other great point. I! Guess! You GotTa give the PGA Credit for trying. You, gotTa throw everything out there. I feel I can see what works I agree. Especially, because the US GAAP tried to me off the Internet last year, because I made a clip that was in a fair use situation where I took my you know lawyers want the US GAAP headquarters and really bitch storm for trying to ruin our business in my family's business. Business and my friends, families, business and everything that but golf was I think a little bit harder on clips and things that nature on the Internet. The fact that they're doing this hopefully, they're embracing a whole new generation. I think this is I think very good. What's another sport? That's very baseball. Isn't baseball just miserable on clips and things of that nature? Out. So the clip that I put is probably going to get the one that Fox put together the fake home run. They hit that one's probably going to get taken back. Because, there was words over top of it. Streets. All right AJ. Anything else you talk about bub. Fight Island I. Guess It's going to have good fights. I was wrong yesterday. Yeah will so how are they? How are they getting them there? That's a long flight. Dana is GONNA fly them all private charter jets, and how's it was probably chartered jets just like the NFL does and things of that nature. So we'll all of the fighters that are fighting on that card beyond the same. They're going to have to meet up somewhere in Vegas and then go from there, so then get tested before they get on the plane. I assume because you're all breathing the same air there. Don't understand how flying's happening by the way flying's happening. They're like well. You got to wear a mask when you're in the sky, but some air's going to leak out right naturally because I'm breathing then that air that is just going to get put up in the vent and just shower down on everybody else. That happened. I mean. Why are Y- I mean? There's a million questions like that going on right? Now I talked to Dr Myron. Rolle is more than. He's a very well-spoken dude. He is impressive. Could you imagine going to college playing football and going to pre MED and then med school and things of that nature. I can hide things that just blow my mind. Things of that nature are really something that I. Never knew was possible. I never knew it was possible for a guy to be able to lift in meat and things of that nature in the football world, and then also on the side you know do like a study of brain on an actual dead person, while you're in school and things of that nature, so the fact that he was able to tie, those together makes him. I believe one of one, I. Don't think there's. There's going to be another doctor Myron Rolle. And when he comes on the show, he saying we're on the other side of this thing. We got to continue to be smart, but he it felt very optimistic with that with him about the corona coronavirus. Because we know what we're looking at now, but he. He's told me your president tons run for president is there's no other doctor. Myron Rolle is from the Bahamas. I mean well as he can. He Tech born in the Bahamas. Great Question. Allie was. Great question because that's one of the rules right? Yeah, because like Arnold can't run for president correct. Born Houston tax. Let's go. Oh, he's good nice. Here, we go about ten years. Ten years needs to make a run. He's thirty three now Ricky Fowler has A. Hellas Stash. What's that Rookies Mike? He is the only one that said yes. Justin Thomas said no, and I said that if this was a few weeks ago, before jt was on the Mike for that challenge, I would've probably buried them for, but now that we're on his side, because he showcase an incredible personality as opposed to the guy that kick somebody out of Golf Tournament for heckling him a little bit his harm present right? Nobody likes being Mike Dump. Nobody likes being miked up at all never good. Especially if it's golfing you, your Jimmy might up for five straight hours, and you have to be like art. I'm trying to survive. Keep my job here and win a golf tournament like this is my whole life. Now every single thing I say I. GotTa Worry About possibly them picking up and putting on the air, you got to have a lot of trust I guess in the producers that they're not gonNA, make you look back because if you if you have a Sam darnold obscene ghost situation berm ruined forever for that. Thought. ESPN did him dirty, did you? Do you think they did when they put that out or NFL films? Whatever it was I I mean. I think so. Don't you think NFL films even think so, too. I think it was an older vet. They wouldn't have done that to them. The NFL films by the way First Class Operation I'm saying this an absolute seriousness, the thirty third owner in the NFL the NFL films productions next level Steve Sable put together incredible, but I think they felt very terrible about that going out because of how NFL films. You know the the the respect that they have I think for the broadcast of the game is a massive ordeal, and it's one of the main reasons why the NFL has had so much success, but when that Sam darnold thing happened. The NFL films came out with a very strong statement about we have no idea how this happened. We are very sorry and I think fired the person who is in charge of putting it out there so I think they did him dirty I. Think So, don't you? Yeah a little bit I. I, just don't know whoever made the decision to put that out if they thought they probably thought there's no idea it's going to get as much as it did and carry on as long as it has. I think that's why you need people that know the game and things of that nature making those decisions right? Think about the. No! They had to know that that was going to make him look terrible they had to. I guess yeah. You know and there's probably those moments you can clip out of everybody's game. I would assume there's moments where somebody's questioning something that happened man. I thought whenever there fucking I thought in this in some either a coach or teammates like no, you gotta like that happens to everybody. If they were just pull those everybody, you do whatever you want to anybody. Anybody, I mean Sam darnold going to have to answer to that scene. Ghosts thing broad for the next couple of years of will disappear at some point, but I think that's GonNa be something that gets mentioned before again..

Bet there's little remnants of. Are there is, but you can't ligaments from the bose breaking those later at night. 'cause you roll. It stuck to your back home. That chrome on the bed. Though is the worst. If it's from like. Anything? That's a little bit of a crunchy. That thing was stabbed. Nowhere just fucking stab. It makes no sense to be. Yeah I mean the hardest thing I'm sure. Anyone knows that you have to weigh in the next day and say you wanted to be light toughest thing not eating at a somewhat easy, not drinking water when you're very thirsty is brutal. I think I'm sure you had a few of those now. I would I would sweat it but I. You obviously can't drink either so I. Those Wednesday nights for the Thursday morning way and there's been some horror stories that people will never talk about also they can save themselves ten thousand bucks or seven thousand bucks, depending on how heavy they are thousand bucks pound. Don't come in overweight. See Thursday morning. Well, there's going to be guys that are GONNA be shitting their pants on night. Then because they're going to drink, that saw. What's that stop mineral? Magnesium magnesium sites that you're supposed to take off before Kohanovsky or something like that. He stricken at the before Jayco and just showed up on television. People, know they the interest, but now there's like almost like a watch along on twitter with five or six different people really were there, tweety no, they're not video, but they're gonNA I. Don't know that I think you may have. Re tweeted the thing I saw. Be. Dany now because Danny's part of it. That denikin Bash. the other day. Oh? No that's what I'm saying. I worked some games with Danny couple of years ago. He's a nice guy. Anybody the played in the NFL by the way I think you get you have all the right in the world to bash kickers and punters for whatever you want, whatever slander you to say? But if you're somebody that wasn't in the NFL. I think it's very hard for you to have a good opinion about how athletic a kicker punter is, because said kicker punter that you're referencing all thirty through a mini NFL right now are more athletic than fucking, or that is just a factual statement. Rucker did one of them Oh. What's that live talk about? Yeah, what is it? They just like dude perfect student right now. Dude who turned on? The PGA tour is back on the T..

I have a khaki pair a Khaki Calipari now. You feel like a businessman now. Wearing ran into a workout. It's good, they're. They're very very very good. Are you still a hot and heavy on your workouts in the Stair Karma. One hundred floors yesterday lots. Along that. Take so I set a twenty five minute time thing on one and I did eighty four floors when the time was up because of the thing and tried to up. I didn't know the math because it tells you how many floors per minute, but then that'll change whenever it goes down because you do I, do like a a program or it goes up and down, so the the floors per minute will change with each section you go to, so it said like. Five or four point seven. Floors. Permanent I was like okay. Twenty five minutes here I'll do one hundred floors, but it drops down three point. Something floors permanent whenever it goes down then it's backup like five something so I had to do two different sets. It took me thirty five minutes to get one hundred floors, and I'll tell you what I was dying full sweat. Then I got a little bit of an arm workout in chess workout did the back and then I vomited in the bathroom. Did. You really vomit. Yeah, it was hot. It's been like a sauna out here. It's been tough to breathe. Easy Humid on. Everyone in mid West right now. It's super humid. I got I just sweat all day. I've been trying to go as hard as possible to because I'd rather get in shink quicker than slower and I was just assumed if I go as hard as I possibly can, results will happen faster, but it's been a bit miserable. This is definitely the longest I've been motivated to do this. Though in the last three years, which feels pretty good. You Look Great I. Think you're looking good. How much you weigh I am not doing the scale. It's not about weight. What is just how you feel? Feel and look. I started a to sixty so once I get to a point I'll get on a scale I feel like at some point to see where I'm at, but I'm letting the number on the scale dictate my effort or happiness with my success level to my commitment to my health and fitness. For you taking ownership of your life and your health. I'm impressed Aj your guy who super. It's Mary I duNNo, you work out every morning, right? Sure I'm sure. Oh, you smoke cigars the whole time during the show. Michael Jordan does as well I think if nothing cigars are healthy, you don't inhale. It feels like cigars. Are something almost say like this person. is so committed to their fitness that even when they wanna get a little bit of a buzz, they won't allow the smoke that touch their lungs. Sure. Maybe but okay, you say like I'm Superman I. Enjoy working out by myself. I don't want to join a workout group I don't want to, but. I think physically obviously you wanna feel as good you possibly can therefore you. You WanNa work out, but just in my brain. It also helps me mentally like I absolutely don't feel right. If I don't work out the morning, see that's feeling to not. Everybody has I. Wish I, had it. I can go about my day. Not Work Out. Eat like Shit. Fall Asleep woke up the next day. I gotTA take a shit. Something happened the hand off and running again and I can just keep it going. Let's do that thing again. And then you get into a routine of doing that in all of a sudden. You're so is I'm GONNA. Say this very straight face. Not becoming a fat ass is a problem for me. It is a real and I think it's going to inevitably happened, but it is not easy. I like food so much I don't i. don't have the you know what I I want to go. Because I did at one point when it kill myself in the weight room and stuff like that. At one point I was growing as hard as I could a lot of part of my life there now I'm like I. Don't want to kill myself in there but I'm back into. Thank God it a lot of fat as if the goal is to not be fat then. All you gotTa do is do some cardio and that stair stepper, and then do something like work on your buys and tries or something trying to look good. Well. It's a lot of what I'm doing right now, but the cardio thing not hard. Growing up, we're told. To do cardio is a punishment ago. Run your late go run. You messed up. And I think every sport. Basically, it's like except for cross country where it's like a go run, but everywhere else there's like running his punishment and I think he kind of. Food weights. SMART like a double quarter pounder just do a couple of biceps real quick. And then just it so then you not. Are eating good. You're also lifting good. That's on talking. About have to be bigger than a quarter pounder. Yeah, your knee one them like five pounds. Oh, what was that Burger place two three pounder? fuckers and I'm going to flood rutgers taking on the three pounder. Lifting that you could eat a three pound burger, you probably not. BATTERS! What situation Aj you eat healthy? Yeah I think so. Ever have pizza. Pizza or love, so you eat pizza and you still are able to stay in shape the way you do. I don't have like official. Cheat days or whatever, but yeah I'd say you know. Once a week once every couple of weeks order pizza and I love it I. could probably I can eat a large cheese pizza by myself. Easily so I have a once a week pizza. Yeah Watch the Rock scene. The rocks crazy like cheat meal. Come on I love the rock just as much as the next guy, but that all feels like a bunch of bullshit to me. His cheap meals doesn't now now I think. He could. And he rightfully should be taking everything possible I mean. He looks great and he works. Super Hard Bingo, but the forty five pancakes like. And then wash it down with two full trays Sushi. I if he does that. He's the Rock. He probably does but I. I just don't know the extent. These days are allowed to because the rock puts out that shit where he says like six cookies in and I'm like is that what a cheap day supposed to be, and then I think to myself if that will cheat days, there's no way I'm stopping like. Seep into other ones and then or the night before. Okay, it's almost midnight mass cheat. They can start right now and your hammered on Friday, night or something it's it's much day right? I'm out late and then you start eating terrible. Then it follows flows into the next day on Saturday then, Sunday, you wake up. You probably hung over you terrible again. It's easy to keep that cycle going well, and then I guess alcohol stalls the digestive. Digestive or something like that in your body, so all the people that get like ridiculously hammered and eat food. You're literally like doing a two piece on your body because I guess like it can't digest the food because alcohol does shrink something some sort of bullshit. Somebody didn't tell me that until about six years into my bender live and I can't find a stub my stomach. John just keep getting so fat like Dewey terribly whenever you're drunk. And what I'm sober, but yeah, when I'm drunk for sure they're like well. That's probably hurt you a bit.

Okay, see I. Assumed. You didn't know who the coach was for the Lakers. So that's the only reason I said that. Let's see I know. I should known a big time guy like yourself. Has Celebrity friends all over the globe? So that's my thought. I won't make that mistake again. Well, that's only. This is the celebrity friends all over the globe, because this was actually another where when this thing, but the considered a different country. Yeah, you got your passport. The Bahamas was in the Bahamas. That is a different country. Yeah, I know. Where to turn, term was correct. What's that house very insensitive it was. Wasn't it a little bit? What was bombs is an incredible country. Great people say what did I say another country I was? auctioned. Even count you know. Dr Myron Rolle ever heard of them piece from the country of the Bahamas. That rock in the ocean. skewing I what saying I wasn't sure if that was played like in south Florida somewhere or my bad bottom Florida or somewhere. That's call back there. In Indiana though I do get invited to some of those events in. I. I rarely go, but Frank Vogel I Have Swan Club together. He was a great coach for the Pacers whenever he was here to great coach then whenever he got that gig with the Lakers I was like Oh, good for the Lakers, good guy. Then I did the PELICANS intro and they're playing against the Lakers and frank was right there. He didn't say a word to me. was just just dialed in in the game, and what I was hyping up the other team. Yeah! So maybe He'll still he should have like really came in pat great work where he might have been huddle though you know like, he might have been because I think they introduce. They wanted to introduce the Lakers as well that night. You know like I wanted to introduce them. Times, she says the grow to spur on earth but tonight. He's bomb Lebron. James, that's how you know the NBA. That's how the NBA introduces the away team you know. And I wanted to do that, I thought that would. They must nfl to like the NFL home team whether it's all fence or defense. There's a big HOOPLA. There's fireworks. There's craziness. They announced one by one and right before that that I am an Indianapolis, colts and everyone just kinda jogged in goes down. The field just goes right to the bench. Really just usually straggles out to. Oh, there's three players Oh. There's two more. There's five more and then while the home team's being announced you see a lot of the vets come strolling out of. Of the tunnel to be out there yet. Where were you in the in the Line of jogging on the field? Where are you right up there? In the Front? Always love the guys at one right to the front, and I never went in the front, luckily had any superstitions that I needed to be there. Always right towards the backout, said the guys who go to the front. I'll tell you what a lot of pressure you gotta run as fast as you can. I know you gotta run as fast as you can and good news is. Nor I don't know. For most teams that I was on the people that will go to the front. or Not around very long right, which is kind of a bummer to be honest because they all. Great personalities, but normally you see a lot of people trail in the back. You know what I mean normally. It's a lot of people I don't know. I think that Sprint Julian Adamant I guess. Does that full sprint? That's pretty bad ass yards all the way to the people that do it I think there's some really cool things, but the whole the whole dramatics, a Lotta that Shit I don't fully comprehend well the dramatics of like. Someone that sprints out there, and then kind of separates himself from the team, said they run all the way down to the corner of an end zone, and they pray for three minutes by themselves the prayer, the prayer group was always because I'm trying to warm up some more punch you know. But then he got Jesus scattered along Red Zone there on that one side, and then he turned around and the other team. It's like do I wanna hit are good guys or they're good guys and I don't want to start a war right now, so I'll just point sideways. I guess until God's done with the conversation with all of them at the same time, so. There's always a lot going on whatever gets you in the best feeling to play the best football I guess is good. But how many times what did you do when you got injured yourself at linebacker number fifty eight. Jayhawk I just kind of trotted out there. I pictured. You is like more of like a Ray Lewis Centers. Good, yeah, why didn't you do a Ray? Lewis type thing. There's only one way Lewis guys. I cannot imitate. That guy is unbelievable, so no I. Just I stayed in my lane. I did what I felt comfortable doing just Kinda crews out there. Did you have helmet honor off? On always Geez how many times do you think you all a lot? What intro, yeah, we'll just every other game at home. They will do offense defense offense defense. There wow that's problem with sport. Why? Three phases football. Obviously you could put. Maybe we pry through specialists in there sometime, probably probably not. Probably not because they were, the problem was specialist. You guys got out there so early already out there putting back and forth into the the people praying so therefore they weren't able to run out with us. My first time getting in trouble was with Chuck Pagano like year seven or eight or something like it was your seven maybe was awesome. Chuck was like Have you ever been injured or whatever he said to me? And I said no, he said. You're getting injured. I was like Oh, I gotta figure out what the Fuck and do. He's like the Election Glenn. gave me like a ish like A. don't let's let's get crazy, so I handed my helmet off to a trainer. Take the helmet. Please get the face out here. It's put the hat on full spin reaction as the fires going off. Thirty and I thought for sure there was no chance they would let me get in trouble again. And they did, and I was pretty pumped up without it bore vegetarian, obviously hall of fame right behind. Doing a thirty five second. You're thirty. Five second wrestling entrance didn't. Happen again, and then the next time it happened I was like this probably GonNa. Be The last time this ever happens, so I've got to make the most of it Viteri back there like I have accomplished more in a quarter of my career in this guy but I'll wait for him with my helmet on just jog straight out. Got It. Vinnie, no big deal. Know What about your basketball intro? How's that going to be when they show you all the cool? You're going to have different high with every single player. We're GONNA HAVE WE'RE GONNA have a couple we're GONNA. Have? Handshakes with people me, and Bron will have one. Probably, it's a very very long if I guess an. Old! Frankie doesn't even know he brings me back. He's going to have a handshake in the middle of that. They normally coaches trying to stay away from that little bit more serious. Frank and I are going to have a full full session out there. You began guys began she. Yeah? Of course wealth handshakes loved the choreographed handshakes I had one with every one of my ninety teammates at the beginning of every training camp. That's pretty cool. I had one choreographed handshake there for a little bit. And it was because we're on a bus ride home from a soccer game. And we weren't allowed to speak because we lost. So. We are sitting. What's that? What's that I can relate to that I..

"An MBA championship what? What what what his angels? Oh. Good fundamentals. Ground Aj. What team you WANNA play for Lakers. Put me on the Los Angeles Lakers shop. Who who is the biggest like who is going to win the? NBA Championship honestly. Everybody thinks it's probably going to be the clippers because they're very deep, maybe the Milwaukee. Bucks nobody knows coming out of quarantine. People could be rusty. Lebron's year to make it happen in La. I didn't say I said people say I think Lebron, the whole damn thing, but if they set it up if it gets set up in the fashion that it was originally there in a bad spot, but now they have a chance to really go for it. I think maybe Lebron wins. The whole thing wins the Cova Championship, but there's players that aren't happy about potentially living in. The world that we're in. I know down in It's in Disneyland in Orlando's at right. Yeah, the MLS is coming back July eighth. Game Tournament now, the NFL says hey, here's a day. We're coming back. That's big news. That is big breaking news. Pat Schefter himself. Let everybody know that July twenty eight. Th is the date who is you're inside source? Don't worry about it. You never can talk about your sources. I got my inside source said. We don't know the exact date yet. We Know I. Know The Leagues Working on it. They're going to get back to assume. Your source does it what. Does the way you. What happens to your breaking news? Pat In your career as a someone that breaks news if The NFL comes back July twenty seven. I was close again right there I was. Yes, you reported that teams will report pretty much at the exact same time the report every other year. I broke that news. Yes, I, did break that particular news that you just stated right there because every other year. Guess what is like this year. Aj things are different. Okay things are much different. I'm reporting that that is the same though and it's normal for every team. To check in at the same time, there's always different dates for whatever reason one day more to. It really means anything or matters in the overall grand scheme of the season. No none of it matters a lot of the people that are getting reps in the first couple of days are not gonNA. Make any team I. Mean it's it is a very interesting thing. I was there for a hall of Fame Game Training Camp. That's son of a bitch was long long long. I'm surprised. They're still doing the hall of fame game. Yeah it's interesting because that would seem to be ahead of a lot of schedules at a lot of other sports. Don't think that they can do if whoever's pointing your hall of fame. They always had to go to camp like five six seven days before. Buddy else now you send. The rookies are reporting the twenty first when most teams report the twenty eighth veterans now are are rookies looking at reporting the fourteenth. If you are on, you're on a team. That's playing the hall of fame game. Because who's in the hall of Fame Stellar Cowboys Ultimate Hall of Fame Game Best of all time. Hall of fame game is the worst game that is played. Every year at every level of football. How about that until steelers and Cowboys Square off? The players Pat when they got extra reps to try to earn a spot on that team. Tell me it doesn't mean anything to those guys, Bro! It's like fourth preseason game, but it's the first preseason game. Nobody knows what the fuck they're doing before four weeks I mean it is a no big, Ben. Doubtful. Not, even be in Canton Ohio for that game I I was I. Actually got hurt like two days before the hall of fame game, so I would not have. Played All of them game if it was to be played in, we brought in Michael Polanyi. Who put some great film bombs balls? He went to the Carolina Panthers. He was so damn good. He was gonNA fame, and he was a guy who hadn't had a chance yet to really put out some good film, so all fame game was going to be massive for him, because probably a lot of punting and everything like that and I got hurt. He got in there and I. Watch it in practice like the day before. Murdering footballs and I was like Holy Shit. I know this general manager doesn't love me already now. That I'm hurt. Way One cut me, would they? Would they potentially maybe they would? And then my next was well. We would compete against each other, and although he is hitting bombs. I feel pretty good about myself as well so that was all, but then I thought to myself. How does this guy have a fucking job in the NFL somewhere like as I? I was watching them like. How is this guy? Not In the end of this is unbelievable, so that hall of fame game was going to be a chance for him to potentially live out his entire dreams he'd been like four or five teams had not really gotten good film. So you're right. It is a good opportunity for people, but since it is an opportunity for people's I mean they're probably not gonna be as good as the people who have. Made team before and that is something that the game happen. You're acting. Like didn't happen now. Remember that was one where they spray painted the field, and then they put a towel packers in. They, what's that called broiled the field that they actually broiled the field with the sign. They only cook the top of it in all other league. Happy. We're both teams. Oh, well we want to. The packers there I was texting with multiple the trainers in different players throughout the whole process and I was like. Oh, my Gosh, you guys. The Games get cancelled in their year. We sure hope so. Shit show, but the thing was. You're already a camp for a week or whatever right so the you already took a lot of the downside of the hall of fame game. If you're a player, all down, all the downside is having five six days a practice. Ambient. But, even though as a player if you're going to play a quarter, so they say we're here, we might as well play..

"Day to day up here AIA we're on borrowed time knows it. I'm so check taken back if let's say this is last year in Detroit does Patricia's go back in DC again. What's his contract with the lions because if the lions are paying they always do that advisor consultant role when another teams pain onto base. Go Win a super bowl somewhere else. That happens all the time coaches get fired. And then they're an adviser somewhere in another teams paying. You'll work somewhere else. I would assume whatever the lines contract is. They probably have to pay them next year. I was soon Bella. Check the way he operates would love to pay somebody zero dollars and have them work as ass off for him. If I know anything about the Patriots organization that sounds like something Bella check would sign up for. I think bell checks kid is kind of the heir apparent for that defense. Right and Steve. Why does it seem like the there so much secrecy on? Who's calling the defense? They're like do those show camera angles of his at St Writes D. Ballot. Check has some of the longhaired. Steve Yes even drawn Mayo. Also he called a few games this year too they they never admit to it though. Who's calling defense though they wouldn't switch play callers to right? That's not something that would happen. Middle of season for alternate games is that something. Defensive Coordinator would do change. Hey this week this person's GonNa call place next week now. Granted the Patriots have done things differently for longtime is that normal. There's no way that storm they're just trying to give drawn. Mayo a little bit of love here right publicly. I think it'd be very unusual to see the defensive. Playcalling changed from game to game change over the course of a season without somebody getting fired like do. I think I could see a new play car. Stepping up is if you fired initial play caller but you never know what the Patriots are doing. That's why there is so much secrecy surrounding what's going on so I don't know man i. I am curious as to who calls the defense. I don't know I would assume its bill. No bill was the one who has been calling. I mean remember some game planning. Is Bill Belichick? Right Strategies Bill Belichick and then maybe teachers his son and and and even with when Patricia before he actually got promoted to a defensive coordinator he was assistant to the head coach for about eight years or something before he actually got the title. Hey what does that Monday Tuesday? They go through the what the game plan is going to be and then Wednesdays when they lay it all out. Is that how it works normally? Yeah they build a game plan Monday Tuesday put it all together. Stay there till four in the morning then come in Wednesday and they present the whole plan to elise still present. If you'RE A defensive guy they'll present I second down maybe a red zone package or something and then Thursday a little bit more and by Friday. It's all in so yeah I mean I don't I I. It's a big difference from being part of being one of the main guys to build a game plan and then being the guy that actually is pulling the trigger making the decisions on the spot in the game calling the Defense Radio Radio in into whoever is wearing the speaker. That's that's a big job like to call plays in game. It's one thing to have a great scheme but if you gotta find a way to dial it up and see the offense is trying to attack you and how you counter that. So it's it's not an easy gig. I know that some coaches can panic right and choke playcalling right. That happens that that literally happens. Some some coaches just kind of locked in on a couple of plays. Maybe they're sheet because they're not fully understand or they're scared to call something or get aggressive. Some coaches say. We're GONNA empty all the bullets in the gun this weekend and then they don't it all because they get scared. I mean people talk about players getting nervous and not performing up their standards. I think playcallers that happens to on a very regular basis and nobody talks about it. I think coaches are the most nervous of anybody. I understand because think about it when you have can't really impact it when it's like okay. I presented the plan. I've given it to my guys. It's up to them. Hopefully they execute. When you don't really have control over. I think it does make you nervous. But you're right. It's it's one thing to have a great scheme. It's another thing to be able to use that scheme in game in. Adjust to what the other team is doing. That's I think it takes Reps. You gotta continue to do it over and over and you're always learn but some guys they just get locked in and got a giant play sheet. Okay second and medium here. We got four calls on my sheet. Let's just go COZMA. Is that one and they do that. Sometimes it happens and it's scary today over analyze to like McVeigh against the Patriots. When the rams were the best offense in the League do they only you know only put up three points. It does happen where he just gets so nervous. He doesn't call the police. It didn't feel like Sean McVeigh was one of those guys. Because I think the thing about Sean. Mcveigh was his swagger in his comfort and his confidence in the ability to just call out a play and then not only as recall for situations that he's done in the past and it did feel as if it was one massive dud in that super bowl a he didn't have the same swagger that normally had and by the way it's a lot easier to have swagger when your team's doing well like I remember whatever I would kick right. Rich Rodriguez knew nothing about kicking. All he knew was. Keep your fucking head down. So that's because he like related. It's golf he would try to coach like he was. He was trying his best. But I I would miss a kicking practice or something like that in those kicks. I would lift my head up to keep your fucking head down. Well there's a reason I'm living my head up right but it's because I obviously hit the ball bad. I just WanNa see where the hell is going. I don't think that is actually so when you don't whenever you have those moments where you have a lot more swagger when things are going well you don't get called out for lifting right up on the ball is going through the uprights. You don't get caught out for this whenever things are happening when things are going bad. It's a lot harder to remain confident. Upbeat PERSON WHENEVER. Shit's just not working. And I think it can take any person down including the young females in Sean mcvay I. I think that is what happened. Potentially with Bill Belichick just Jedi. Mind fucking that Guy. Didn't jump day come in right after the super bowl to the press and say. I got out coach today. Why and he came up right the game to bill belichick and he said. I'm so amazed at how your your ability to adapt weekend and week out with a new game plan in this whole thing and yeah there's entire conversation with Sean. Mcvay obviously looks up to bill bell check but when you're going against the greatest of all time in the biggest game that there is yeah you're gonNA assume that You got a guy in a team. That's been there done that verse. Jared Goff I mean I think I think McVeigh knew going in like well. Today's potentially GonNa suck and it did how they still should have found a way to win that game the ramp. What was the final score? Thirteen three as low in that field was it was ten three until like a minute. Twenty left or something that and the Brandin cooks play. Brandin cooks wide open in the middle of the end zone and golf lane on it. Or wasn't that mccourty that came over the top and broke it up. Mcchord broke it up but it was because Gadhafi. He took like say look. That's that's Chris Collins Worth Right. There Year Chris Collins. Right there yeah he buried Goff instead of putting over mccourty. That's negative Boston. Connor is that a common thing. I think most broadcasters commentators at some point they end up pointing out the negatives as opposed to the ten positives in right. That's what I feel like. Whatever you see Guy Wide Open Wide Receiver Wide Open. There's a chance that he ran such a good route that he shook this shit out of the DB and normally the commentators tend to point out the DB's lack of footwork balance or anything like that as opposed the pointing out the incredible route. That was just run right. It's kind of like it's all in your mentality. I think it's a glass half full half empty type of person I think. Most broadcasters get that point because they just finally get Jaden there like this guy's in idiot as opposed like this fucking route was insane. You know what I mean. I think there's always two ways to look at everything in all depends on how you want to present it. Why THINK PEOPLE? Also when they're calling games like dear they don't want to be looked at as the guy that's just saying everything is great everything is rosy and both. These teams are awesome Jon Gruden got that. That was one of the things people were talking about him. You know he he just brings some juice to the the the booth up there but he was he was largely mostly all positive like all. These guys are amazing. This is great playbook and people love for some reason why we like car. Crashes People love to hear when broadcasters are critical of other players. I don't I don't either. I don't know I don't like like I just don't like like say a guy catches a little swing passer. Little Scott back in the in the in the flats and there's a safety coming up trying to make an almost impossible open-field tackle with nobody else around him. And he gets shook and he misses the tackle in the running back goes and he gets twenty five yards. They're gonNA talk about how poor tackling that was. I would be like hey. This guy is almost in an impossible position. He's gotTa Hang on uses leverage. Hopefully his buddies come to help and slow this down hopefully get a hand on them. Trip them up. Maybe yeah but that'd be humanizing it right and he can't do that they're not humid. You're right yeah. You can't do that you can't do. You can't do that because I sent you. Sukhoi are they put your face in somebody's mouth and a little bit of a tough show for you? Put my face in somebody's mouth. Yeah you lead with your face a lot. I don't know how you lead with that Shovel Goddamn Crimson Chin going to get that thing in there. All Right de. Aj did if you're wearing a helmet you're gonNA use it pat so you think the way to stop the concussion problem aside from the rules that are changing have slowed it down. Take the helmets off the boys. Let's go back yard show. Aj Hawk says Super Bowl champion. Ohio state legend. Aj Hawk says that if they take the helmets off the game will be safer. You know what you. That may not be false. I don't know but is that what was that. It's not football if you take the helmet off. Oh so me playing back there. Football Street football growing up. It wasn't football. I know that's backyard. Football Street football. That's flag football. That's not football all I got it because there's a word before it that's on. Nfl Football No. That's not even college. Football Dine High School. Football digs was great. High School football. You should see books. Oh my gosh I know man. I do jumped off the screen emmy stickers. All OVER HIS HELMET. He is allowed to use his arms by. That was a discussion point. I think some people in this office by the way pretty negative people didn't want him to have the ability. He's at three miles congratulatory trying to buy a house. There's a lot of people in his office that didn't want to allow him to put his arms down and I said listen..

"What if two or comes into the NFL and just never gets hurt and plays like ironman career? Like Brett Farve Peyton Manning. Eli Manning like that he could potentially direct quote here from Trent Dilfer. He says he throws better than Aaron. Rodgers IN MARINA SUFFERS. GonNa fuck around lose a lot of friends. I mean he's saying Dan Marino to because tourist said. Hey Look I want to go to Miami. Can you compare me to the greatest quarterback Miami's ever had? I don't think you should take shots at the greatest quarterback. Miami's ever had and I don't think saying he throws better than one of the Best Ball. Throwers in history of existing Aaron Rodgers. That doesn't seem like the right quote but I liked that. He's stepping out there in grandstanding for his guy that he's training but by throws better than Aaron Rodgers. Hey Trent has says you're a nice guy you take a lot of shots kickers and punters so I hate you but like Hasselbeck has told me you're a good guy. Don't bring Aaron Rodgers fucking name into this please. Just don't do it. Just go to that dump. Bring up fucking guy's name over you don't do it. Just don't do it. Goes into the Matrix now. If too by the way ends up being anywhere near a conversation with Aaron Rodgers. Damn that's good news but I feel like Trent feels as if he has to say these grand things to spend a narrative away from him just being hurt all the time. Yeah he's got a I understand in thinking about it with what he's saying it's never really gonNA come back and bite him like let's say to the next level and he gets hurt at doesn't go against anything transplant. A transplant saying he's not going to be hurt. He's not injury prone. He's saying how he throws the ball in how talented he is so if he goes out there and he's not durable in the league translate yet doesn't matter still a great arm still can still very accurate still can make all the throws but he just got hurt. I'm saying I could do a better play action and to how about that. You ever heard of that. Pow will hold them accountable. Aj if he goes in there and he doesn't absolutely light it up we will come back with Hellfire and brimstone right the Trent dilfer smile. Yeah Hey Trent you remember when you said. He was burying Aaron Rodgers. Whenever he was thrown thing down in Nashville Powell. What a wild thing to say by the way there's a lot of authors in the NFL. I'm not picking Aaron Rodgers. The Guy who threw a hail Mary that hit the roof in Detroit and then the same season a couple weeks later crosses body against the cardinals throws when seventy I mean. What are we doing? What are we throwing Aaron? Same in there is is a bit much. What what is trek set about kickers and punters. I don't know if these come out. Same Stupid Shit to deal. They're doing their own thing. Don't matter yeah. Sure is a good guy. But I mean doesn't mean he doesn't fucking Stink Connors Really. He must be a big. Tom Brady Fan to two thousand fourteen. After can't see chiefs. He dubbed the Patriots down. Is He dead? And then we went on to win. Three Super Bowls Stooge Dilfer but is the Patriots Dynasty dead. Now yes already J. I mean we didn't have to to to is Dammar talking about that right now. We have you seen today. I have not to he. He's not check it out dude. He's wearing a NASA onesie. I got hold on. She got my astronaut helmet to. He's a space man. He's a spacesuit ones. Are you getting warm? I've had ones these two. They sound idea. What and bullets Believe.

"Boston battling against a worldwide pandemic. I never thought that for sure Nurse Surgery so sub specialized people come in with brain tumors aneurysms or degen degenerative disc disease in like okay. This is what I'm going to fight. He's GonNa Treat. This is where I love to do. And this is really repurposing in redeployed me and my colleagues something totally different. But it's part of I think my maker To just want to help very marginalized underserved population from the Bahamas. Originally as I might have alluded to we had hurricane during hit our country a couple of months ago and I left Boston. I left Harvard. Not because I'm an emergency response clinician. Not because I know to test Colorado water or avoiding stepping on rusty nails against tetanus or something like that but because I had some health care skills that could aid my home country so when I see things that are are ways that I could give back in I can serve in any capacity. I want to do a lot of my colleagues. Have taken on that same. -nology you're awesome man. I can't thank you enough. I feel like at some point in our conversation. You thought to yourself this does feel like one of them fucking comes at exactly all we need. It was like so You know some tea or maybe some bangers and mash or fish and chips or something like that. Hey We got bang is rick. Ross a doctor. I'll have to come back on. I thank you so much. You made me feel so much smarter. I feel like a lot of people probably learned some things here. "It feels like people aren't corns. Any as much as they were maybe in the last three weeks four weeks I think I think Indiana is a place that was really taking the precaution seriously. The roads were emptied. There's going on then. The weather changed and it feels like people want from being. Stir crazy to feeling freedom to feeling invincibility. Are we at the point where the people who have? It are contained enough where the corn teaming isn't as necessary as it has been in the past or do we still think they're potential a symptomatic carriers and people walking around do have it. Who can continue to bump this curve right back up to where it was headed before? I say? I don't think that we have some more time to go for sure. And Medicare's feel good. You feel like you have the coke invincibility like you said you want to get back to normal life because this is what you do. This who you are and this has really disrupted off assets aspects of human life. It's it's not something I have to really explain because we are living but at the same time epidemiologist scientists have to have the time they have to have the time to find a vaccine cure. Some sort of therapy. That's going to be safe and efficacious to be able to Be Available for public. Consumption are wide level. And I don't think we're we're just area so it's GonNa be some more time to a little bit more patiently this holding Hydrochloric Win Anna's e. pack has been something that's been talked about both on social media and on whether you turn on anywhere on. Youtube on the news everything has been talked about. How in cases that it's been used in this number might be wrong. It's a number that I saw on the Internet so it could be wrong. Ninety percent recovery rate whenever hydrochloric win or Z? Pack are mixed together. Is there a reason? Is that accurate that number? Then your knowledge and also. Is there a reason why you can't just give a stamp of approval on a cure because it hasn't been tried and tested in these uncharted waters? If SOMEBODY GIVES. Hey this is the answer. And it doesn't work then. Obviously there's a chance for a little bit more hysteria. What do you feel about the hydrochloric win and Z pack combination? And is that potentially going to be our answering the long haul and they just don't know if that's the case yet it potentially could be potentially and I use that word again three times. Potentially I think you need to have a drug or some sort of therapy. That is not going to harm patient. Worse Than What? The virus are trying to protect him from will do and also is going to do what is intended to do not. GonNa have dilatory side effects that will truly hamper and impede. The health of the person who is what's taking just for prophylactic cases but there have been doctors and scientists working for not only hydrochloric win as reminding combination but also Andrew tencent at converting enzyme inhibitors potentially as a way to effect change. Awesome anti retrovirals as well. So there's some Some immunoglobulins. As well some other core Gordon's some other important scientific class Molly's methodologies are trying to figure this thing out so there's there's several different experimental address going on at this point and we're trying to expedite the process. But I think the most important part is that we just need to remain patients in knots become subject to time with haste that we just need to get back toward normalizing watch sports again or go back and play in the street again. Go and join these large crowds in our favorite gatherings before we truly truly have an answer as professionals we are at baseline very conservative And so we want to make sure that things are incredibly incredibly before we distributed to our Appalachian because at that point if we do and ends up being harmful that just as the census to the hospital override at once again and this this idea of maybe getting people out of the hospital. Because you're treating them with this drug actually backfires on you because they're actually coming back in and re stressing your healthcare system which can be very very difficult. Okay so here in Indianapolis Eskenazi hospital downtown. They had the ability to change your entire hospital to an icy every room can be an ICU. Room for this corona virus victims. Now the big talker out of Europe Italy was at the medical system couldn't withhold the amount of patients that were coming in the infrastructure is basically not enough for the amount of people. I heard that story in New York. They're building tents in central park. They had other things happening. You look outside of hospitals. They have tents in the parking lot where people are coming and getting tested and maybe filtered in in Boston. Where you're at is it at capacity is your hospital. Continue to be at capacity. Have you seen a little bit of a waiver? In the amount of people coming into the hospital with cove nineteen the latter. He knows kind of going a little bit made plateau. But I think it's going to spike in for our hospital. We've been proactive in trying to maybe even get our pediatric patients out of the hospital into our children's hospital. Because as we know that surgeons can be carriers and it could be a notice but they aren't typically the worst affected by this as we get them out of our hospital to another hospital across the street that opens up the pediatric wards in pediatric ICU. I is used for adult patients who come from nineteen so these are some of the ways. We're trying to do this art. Pack Your Post Op. anesthesia recovery areas. That we do after surgery Those areas in Abbey turning issues. We're trying to consolidate the the Pacu Spaces for our patients so just being creative with our bits based in creative personnel making sure that only essential staff members are in hospital. So that you're just not reinfecting people who are here with US everyday. All of that is important. I think in the next week. We're really going to be challenged. And our ministers leaders need to continue to make the decisions that keep us ahead of of this issue rather than playing catch up. That's important Chris Cuomo Pies on works for CNN. I guess he had a nasty bout with cove. Nineteen he talked about having hallucinations. He said he was obviously puking he massive temperature in the shivers. And everything like that. Have you seen it by the way? That was the first time I'd heard the extent of how bad this virus really is. People at your hospital has it is their levels to this thing or is is there like hey this is like an average cover nineteen patient? Oh Damn this is the shivers puking Tova. Nine thousand nine potential pass away like level Stewart. Or is everybody that gets it. Basically in a terrible spot I mean every yet now discern levels to it. You're absolutely right. It starts off not as severe as one. May think you're like okay. You get you test positive with a NASAL SWAB. You just positive again. So it's a true positive. We actually believe that test to be real. And then you're managing your you know your take care of your in critical care and you're having a Q. Q. One Hour and thirty minute checks from nurses and staff and then by day five six or seven will decide con released then you have respiratory distress and you have compromised in that respect and you start to come sit quickly if it gets very severe and if you're somebody who's potentially you know out with pre-existing your pre morbid conditions push even more. I think what's positive about the Chris Cuomo situation and others who are had the platform to speak about This issue it gives us anecdotal real life information on what's actually happening. It takes in the world of cove nineteen and again. I think that just as a human face and a real story behind this so that people say you know what this isn't just some far outreaching stretched out figure. This isn't just some hysteria scare. That people are trying to get over on us. No this is a real thing. People who we somewhat nope through media at least or through our communications they. They're going through it and it can happen to me too anytime. You put a face to a 'cause it obviously hits home a lot more. I think a lot of people who did that with Chris. Cuomo you mentioned there that you do one test and then you do a second test is there have been a lot of false positives you found on the first test. And what is the difference between I s in the second test and have tests change because I think I saw graph where the I was like? They shove it in your nose it touches your brain and then it comes out in. A lot of people were scared to get tested. Almost you're doing that twice. Is that because there was false? Positives or why. Why would that happen so bring thankfully it'd be a lot more cause for nurse urges Short but yeah so a lot of times the double check done based on High risk factors be someone being very old having a lot of pre morbid conditions. You WanNa make sure for certain that have covert nineteen That you're not treating somebody who's got a false positive with all the resources available when this person may not actually have true is not a hundred percent hundred percent Suggestive under percents specific tests. The hardly any tests that are like that so it's really on the discretion of infectious disease are wonderful. Medical teams are by three in here. Mashing will say okay. Let's look at this patient's profile. Let's see if they are at risk. They're likely to have cove in nineteen his negative assessment again to make sure they're really negative or positive. Let's make sure there really are because our resource needs to be allocated correctly energies focusing to be allocated. And we're going to put it all in on this person that's important. Do we have a lot? More testimony originally had like are we at the point where we have enough task for instance when the MLB is thinking about building a bio dome type situation out in Phoenix. Where all the players are going to go out there. They're GONNA be quarantined. And apartments are GONNA play in the ten stadiums around Phoenix and go back to apartments. No fans no family. No nothing but they thought they could potentially look bad if they're eating up tests to make sure everybody's clean when the rest of the world might not have enough tests. Is that something that the MLB should be worried about or people should be worried about. Is there not enough tests? I think here in Indianapolis only essential professions are in the medical field. Were allowed to get tested. Are we at the point where we have enough test to find out if people got it or not so if people do have it we can put them away? Are we still trying to figure out ways to create those? So I think we certainly could get more tests I think we have a decent amount right now but I think it's important not to just not test everyone just based on win. It has really been done based on symptoms exposure history Looking at the whole overall patient profile. If you're a person who has been in contact or at least six feet within contact within someone who's got a positive tests or been exposed. I think is reasonable that you get that has been. I think there are places that you can whether it be through the Department of Health in your local communities or through major hospitals ours Talking to your primary care physician to sort of make sure that we manage through these waters I I think that's important. Not to SORTA overused their resources that we have while we do that while. I'm sort of triage these patients ourselve- I think more tests are going to be Being developed especially in hot areas like Philadelphia's coming up on a high visit. We certainly are other cities around the country especially places where people on top of each other themselves. These are things that are important so it takes a holistic approach to this while we do that are looking at the whole patient in its entirety or in their entirety then we can kinda ramp apart tests availability accessibility. Everyone how come six feet was the chosen distance is. That's a bitch only. Got A six foot vertical. Why is six feet the The number? I'm not sure that's a questionnaire answered by an epidemiologist Dr Foxy who was on tv all when you were You know maybe taking interception back that a house in jamming the rick. Ross implies at Florida State Locker Room. Did you have a feeling that one day you'd be on the front lines in one of America's most storied cities Boston battling against a worldwide pandemic. I never thought that for sure Nurse Surgery so sub specialized people come in with brain tumors aneurysms.

"Everything in the world of sports like everything in the world has been shut down to some degree by the pandemic covert nineteen corona virus but there are certain places that have been hit harder than others in the city of Boston in the state of Massachusetts certainly qualify as one of those earlier today we had on Myron Rolle Dr Myron Rolle of course played college football Florida state then went on to earn a Rhodes Scholarship and played three years for the Tennessee Titans and is now a neurosurgeon at mass general one of the largest hospitals in the city of Boston we had a moment to talk about exactly what you need to know about the impact of the coronavirus on medical personnel and the health care system it's been very hectic and it's changed the dynamics of the hospital you know we're a large hospital thousand bed with some several different referrals that come from all over the New England area and even across the country if your costs will be a lot of patients from there to but now the hospital is or where you walk in you have to put it back on and then the guys are everywhere there's no more visitors allowed are like three of nurse surgical surgeries are postponed or canceled so it's very different and the house will be recruiting people like myself another you know those surgical residents and even if you have no experience in managing cultivate team to come and be a part of this thing called a search clinic which is basically a hospital within a hospital thank you man and triage all the different patients who have symptoms occur overnight you know positively affected so it's really changing day to day life all the solution for their service and that you know what if I was to try to keep myself healthy so that we can continue to provide service for these people who are just coming in every day how difficult is it for you guys that are handling this that are not like you as you said not used to doing this now all of a sudden you're being asked to so what you have to learn about it or go through before you can start helping these people that's a great question you know it's such a novel disease and there's more information is sort of coming out about it that you're that you were using a sort of evidence based methodologies and best practices to sort of help us you know obviously facemask in accounting still having protective shield and things like that are important you know taking office grows before you get homesick fixable things like that it's just it's very it is changing every day it's such a complex situation but I think the ultimate goal is as a provider you are signing up to take care of the most on the global secular population especially the subset of our community which are affected the most the older people probabilities pre existing conditions are these are our service times for them we have to be there for that talking to Myron Rolle once again Dr Myron Rolle former NFL safety current neurosurgery resident at mass general in Boston and Marissa just to be clear now you're working directly with covert nineteen patients I I'm curious it just on a personal level what was your reaction like when you heard that not only was the hospital going to be taking patients without you could potentially be directly exposed to this yeah I was you know reading up on it as much as I could and tried to maintain a little bit of normalcy as much as possible the obvious after the computer search and then they got grants to restrict the genocide of the split down the call is to be a sufficient amount of a doctor and you know treat patients as they come in a hospital leadership within a great job of keeping us abreast as to what's the latest stats what are the latest policy changes to make your own form you know we have some very surgical patients on our service right now who had just undergone you know and surgical procedure but has symptoms of cold if eighteen or trying to make sure that you know we're protecting herself the nurses as well and that you know we're getting the right treatment getting faster speeds to see them getting the right stands with other take care of all of these things is adding another dimension of complexity floor in a ready complex specialty but it's something that we need to do just got it get it done for sure my role with this again a neurosurgeon at mass general and I think what you just said needs to be explained to people because when we talk about potentially this disease and this virus overwhelming to healthcare system normally your job is to work on people's spines and work on brain tumors none of that can be taking place right now because of the overwhelming need of this one specific virus correct that's absolutely right you know what our anesthesiologists are very very important advantages too because as you are aware it's a respiratory illness your people with your restore calm provide constraints and ideologists are wonderful I am managing the source of patients and we are there certain with the and it's easier to run any sort of our procedures in the operating room so the resources and the band power the question now is certainly being allocated different parts of the hospital and patients who've been waiting for six months because they have a generous final again with this users so they have some sort of value in that range that can potentially weight but it's still a real story for them that they have to sort of push back their surgery because you know the whole question issue it's called the nineteen so these are some of the things that I think are going on heralded obviously at a fundamentalist fighters they care the most vulnerable little stick right now after this is sort of Hey how do we catch up on all the people that weren't able to be operated on I don't have treatment at a hospital because the hospital could be coming hi this is for inspection of what's on so when and I'm sure your hospital is in contact with you know the CDC and others about what's going on and and going forward and and all the models and such what have you in the hospital been told about the length of this I know not exact dates but you know the peak and flattening the curve and and all that we have been hearing that you can put hive in layman terms source of where we are yeah I think so for us right now in Massachusetts you know we still haven't hit the heights teachers from what we're being told us to come in about a week or two and so we're sort of preparing and bracing for the biggest search that worked there were going to face that means everybody getting ready staff nurses food transport basements just the whole hospital come together as a team really reminds me of a football team honestly I need this taken a factor of what I've done my whole life just everybody saying Hey we have a responsibility to have a role let's do it I do not think that it's going to slow down anytime soon I think that right now flattening the curve is is purport because this allows time basically for epidemiologists scientists nurses doctors other people researching and studying this distance leaves to find a way to mitigate the symptoms find a way to get a vaccine to cure a management best practices how do we get over this it's gonna take some time we got to get that data so that's what people are stressing the importance of not only social business but also just the the hygiene and make sure you're protecting yourself and your family so you're not continuously adding to the numbers here well I'm I'm glad you brought that up mired because as again we're talking a minor role former NFL defensive back he's a resident neurosurgeon at mass general Boston specifically in the state of Massachusetts one of the hardest hit so when I hear you say we haven't reached the peak yet us specifically in your region in Massachusetts compared to where you are now what do you think that peak is going to look like how much more impactful is it going to be I think we have to be very impactful right now we have a little bit south of a hundred patients who have called in nineteen and then we have several others that have symptoms that look like the nineteenth but they don't right you have to kind of rules out and it takes time it takes resources like manpower energy it's certainly different tasks that need to come back so I think it's going to be very difficult and it has been already it's going to be challenging on multiple levels multiple fronts but thankfully as I mentioned we have amazing staff at national hospital who are on the front lines and really try to get ahead of us managing these patients the best they can you know take make sure that if there's patients were in the hospital who maybe don't need to be in a hospital for whatever it's Alistair to you they may have are better able to speak quickly scene three arts you know worked on set up for outpatient clinic you know and that that that's because somebody's coming you know off the street who potentially has a very very advanced a severe case of code thank you so you know I I think it's a it's a team effort as I said very very widespread hospital approach and I will try to be aggressive and do the best you can sure with that in mind Byron you'll you literally can give us an experience and give our listeners and our viewers some insight that maybe they're not getting anywhere else so if you when you see people in certain places that are congregating in large numbers whether it's at a park or on a beach what message can you give to those people so they understand the importance of making sure they adhere social distancing and how if they don't it affects you greatly what message would you want to give out there to all those people who maybe it hasn't sunk into yet yeah you know I I if I can be as flat as plain as possible I would say it's a responsible are to join in concrete most big groups and potentially restraining orders virus is very infectious that's what we do now you know I think we don't know but we do know for certain is that a house with person to person and does not discriminate now certainly affects a certain subset of the population a demographic much more than a dozen others but that doesn't mean that you can't be in a symptomatic carriers so that your spots all together these large groups and I know that there are people you know I bet so young athletes to Florida state I felt I would be happy if I fell for the number of unionists feel like I was visible I this cloak of invincibility over me because I can run faster jump higher and thought that they could effectively but I think that we need to really have those buyers this overall generalized body and from there consistently that says you know whether you're young or old you know black or white you know reporter the matter where you are you have a little either you are a team member of giant G. just the American populace that and we need you to take that seriously impacts the sooner you do that and the more serious we take that responsibility the sooner we can get back to being normal and getting our our life that has a friend that was so everybody has to be active and that's really important to adhere to these things my current one more for me you know what we see that you know you can pull up the map of United States and where you know the positive tests are we certainly see were Massachusetts New York New Jersey California and you see some states you know like like a North Dakota South Dakota you know thinker some states that are in the low hundreds are under a hundred is the thought that those states are going to be safe through this or is that just you know hopefulness part or is it going to wave through there are me what's what's that thought process we look at some parts of the state or the country that haven't had a lot of positive tests yeah I'd I'd say a lot of that is again cast you know availability of attachment out that several.
