"Is that's pretty cool. So we're talking about that this morning that by and large James, without fans in attendance, looked and felt, Okay. They were quote fine In my reservation. They were fine. You'd love to see phantom attendance. But short of that, having players play in a really games, some cutouts behind home plate, some cut out sound, the outfield, some piped in crowd noise. It was fine. It was just good have competitive baseball back. So we're talking about that this morning, and it also on the NFL. A number of very notable popular players are very upset at the NFL and its murkiness in terms of safety and security measures for the return of football. You had a number of NFL players take to Twitter over the weekend and blitz, the league office and the owners for not having hard structured safety guidelines for the return of football. Amongst others. Myles Garrett. Jarvis Landry. Todd Gurley and One of the most popular players in the NFL. Drew Brees. That you have high levels of concern. From the Players Association from the union. At the NFL right now doesn't have clear protocol in place and that they're worried about that. Very clearly. And due to the N F L C b a The N F L can't tell the players to show up without any agreement between the players and the owners. You just had a peaceful sea. Be a negotiation. You got it done. So when you see players tweeting out Hash tag. We want to play. And guys voicing their concerns about the safety protocol that the league has That's gotta be alarming. And the NFL owners had four months to get this together. Four months. Rudy go bare tested positive for the Corona virus in March. At that point, every league should have been adopting some plan very similar to what the NFL is gonna have to do here in the next 10 days. So listen to this from J. J. Watt. Once again in the interest of keeping everyone players and fans as informed as possible. Here's an updated list of what we as players know and don't know. As the first group sets the report to training camp tomorrow, that team is the Cannes City chiefs in the Houston Texans. J. J. Watt says. We want to play. We want to remain as safe as possible. The NFL command ate that players show up to training camp, regardless if any agreement has been reached between the NFL and the players Association We still have not been granted the full and proper training camp acclamation period necessary as recommended by medical and training staffs. That part's big They haven't been given the protocol as recommended by the medical staff. We listen to the scientists on this who we're supposed to be listening to O know about you guys. I got my degree in mass communications. Oh, know anything about this virus. The only things I learned have been things that I read and listening to people who are scientists who were studying this. That's all I know. So don't look to me to be any expert on this subject. I'm not. I don't know anybody that does. I can get somebody on the phone that is A doctor. But I don't know anything about it. All I know is what I've been told. The same way that I imagine many of you were in that scenario. I'm sure some of you are doctors and someone you know, I don't know. The NFL players were telling you, they don't know. From J. J. What? We still don't know if there will be daily testing every other day Testing, etcetera. We still don't know if there will be preseason games or not. We're in the middle part of July, and players don't know if they're gonna play in preseason games. That sounds like a good strategy. We still don't know how positive Kobe test will be handled in regards to others in close contact. A strong and fair opt out clause for those at a higher risk and those of family manner. Members, also at a higher risk, has still not been agreed upon. They don't even know if players decided they're not showing up if that counts as a breach of contract. I feel like what the players are asking for. Here is bare minimum and basic kind of stuff. Where I think it's different than the major league baseball players is. The players were arguing money when it came to baseball. Doesn't the players were arguing The players were arguing money. And I'm not saying that That's not a big part of this. The NFL players was certainly feel a lot different if the money was involved. The owners are asking the playing preseason games that don't show up on the check. The owners are asking for a lot in this scenario in the interest of television dollars. And it's cool to do that. In normal circumstances. Players sign up or sign up for this The NFL players are playing this correctly. You gotta argue and operate on the side of health. If you argue and operate on the side of health, I think you have a chance of winning that fight in the battle with public perception. If you're arguing with money, and we're not paid enough, I don't think that's a smart fight, given layoffs, furloughs, pay cuts all of those things. Everybody's money's affected, given what's going on. So NFL players are not going to be exempt from that, and the American public is not gonna look at them and think. Wolf for you because you're only making 30% of your $15 million contract and it stinks and I get it. Everybody wants to go to work and get their full pay. What you're seeing today is a bunch of guys wanting to play football, but also make sure That it's going to be healthy for them to do so. You saw similar tactics used By Major League baseball during their very vicious battle between the players union and the owner's Joining us now on the hotline is Andrew Brandt. Who has been on both sides ofthe these types of issues has negotiated contracts certainly understands the inner workings and how tough this could be The hammer out as rookies are supposed to report in two days. Andrew Welcome to show Yeah. I mean, we're seeing the exact same paper that we saw in baseball. I think what you tried to lay out there was just exactly a replay, and I've been saying it for months. You know what Went on in baseball is absolutely going to go on football. Hard negotiation. Number one health and safety, figuring out the protocols figure out the way to handle this. A way to handle infections and outbreaks, quarantines and tracing and testing and treatment and everything involved. Which is still what now with the NFL players are tweeting about. It's not resolved all those kind of things. To me. This is still the easy part of the negotiation because after this comes the money And we can talk about all the reasons why we met Ivan have a season. Because of what's going on in this country with the virus. We have major suits the result even if there is a season. And My feeling is this I think we can get to the heart of this with this right here. Strategic This is not a coincidence what baseball do they waited and waited and waited until the number they wanted, which was playing 60 games, although they probably preferred 50 We're the only thing left on that you could do because they ran out the clock. And I think football is doing the same thing. I think NFL owners are waiting and waiting and waiting. Until it becomes clear the players. Oh, my God, we got to get to camp. You know, you've gotta have two weeks to prepare for the season. And It just seems to me. People are saying, how could the NFL not have a plan in place? Well, I think they do have a plan in place. Without the players, so they get nervous. And I'll be there. I'll be there. Okay. They'll come in. Well, obviously, and we're joined by Andrew Brandt. We saw how it played out with baseball, and we saw the counterproposals and how it continuously looked like it was not going to happen and then boom, they had a measure that would work almost almost similar to howl like an executive order works. With the president. I mean, that's kind of what happened in baseball. In this case in football. Do we have a similar mechanism down to me like we do like the league can impose. I mean, I think tomorrow's Smith was on a call with the media this week where, he said. Hey, it's their plan. You know where the workers They tell us to show up. We got to show up. Um Not so much taken imposed season by CIA like Rob Man for didn't said. We're playing 60 games and all the players were saying, just tell us where and when. But it is similar to that, Um Yeah, they're gonna argue over one preseason game or two preseason games or how long they get to practice or have the acclamation before practicing and You know, eventually glad it got worked out the infection protocols. But, yeah, in so many words. Yes, the NFL owners can impose. Their terms. So the fact that we're seeing these tweets right now by high profile players. I get that right now Looks like a coordinated effort, and they're doing the same thing the baseball players did. But should football fans be worried today? After seeing all this that there's a chance that maybe football doesn't even get started? I mean, I think there's a chance based on what's going on in the country. More than there's a chance based on negotiations. I just think In some ways. They see these tweets from ownership is probably seeing these tweets as a good thing. Which means I mean, I think the hashtag is something about we want to play. You know, And there's some sports where you get leaders and players saying we don't want to play. Too dangerous. Um Oh, yeah. I mean, I think I think this will get done. And as I said, deadlines for action, and this is seems to be the owners working the deadline. To their advantage, because, of course, they could have figured this out in four months. Um But it looks like they're not there. Just not for some reason, they're not doing it. Well, that's that's the one thing that's fascinating to me is they laid down the gauntlet, so to speak with a schedule, with rookie supposed to report in just a couple of days, and they said if there's an actual preseason game, here's when the 1st 1 Would occur here how these dates would line up. Was that something that you think annoyed the players to the extent that they would come out today and make headlines with this big push..

And I think football is doing the same thing. I think NFL owners are waiting and waiting and waiting. Until it becomes clear the players. Oh, my God, we got to get to camp. You know, you've gotta have two weeks to prepare for the season. Can It just seems to me. People are saying, how could the NFL not have a plan in place? Well, I think they do have a plan in place without the players till they get nervous. And I'll be there. I'll be there Don't know Cave. They'll come in. Well, obviously, and we're joined by Andrew Brandt. We saw how it played out with baseball, and we saw the counterproposals and how it continuously looked like it was not going to happen and then boom, they had a measure that would work almost almost similar to hot like an executive order works. With the president. I mean, that's kind of what happened in baseball. In this case in football, do we have a similar mechanism? Sounds to me like we do like the league can impose. I mean, I think tomorrow's Smith was on a call with the media this week where, he said. Hey, it's their plan. You know where the workers They tell us to show up. We got to show up. Um Not so much taken imposed season by CIA like Rob Manford didn't said. We're playing 60 games and all the players were saying, just tell us where and when. But it is similar to that, Um Yeah, they're gonna argue over one preseason game or two preseason games or how long they get to practice or out the acclamation before practicing and You know, eventually glad everything worked out the infection protocols. Seeing these tweets from ownership is probably seeing these tweets as a good thing. Which means I mean, I think the hashtag is something about we want to play. You know, And there's some sports where you get leaders and players saying we don't want to play. Too dangerous. So, Yeah, I mean, I think.

"And the time line of it where there was extortionate behavior is the term I've seen used. Yes. Going to the Nixon saying, hey about that sixty thousand dollars it all smells, but we also can say anything more than really that. Yeah. This is my question for the Mavericks because they put it out there through sources that wind is when they made the trait they knew about an extortion attempt. They did not know anything about an alleged rate. Did you ask what the extortion temples about? Are you just like, oh, wow. That's bad. Asking would have been important. Last name is Odal Beckham junior bowl. The Browns new star receiver had his introductory press conference and was joined by Myles Garrett. Jarvis Landry Baker Mayfield. Let's watch what? Dell said. I mean at the end of the day. I know where I met in life. I don't I don't need to be in New York. I don't need to be in LA could be in. Sheboygan wisconsin. It doesn't matter where I'm at. So it never really crossed my mind going to Cleveland or in about marketing or any of the football winning like all all the extra step into this game to be famous. You know, that's just what that. That. Bo you believe you'd be happy Cheboygan if they win right? Like, they are winning football games than he will be fine. I mean, he's the does from New Orleans, right? Like, it's not like he's from the biggest city in the world. If they go in there and they win games. He's playing with his role dog jobs land. They go back who knows how long. Yeah. He'll be fine. But man, if they're not winning. That's one of the things you don't like start to get under your skin. I just love the idea that somewhere official from the Cleveland board of tourism is like oh, great. That's our news Logan, be big city for people who could tolerate living in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, that's kind of the troupe of the truth. And also a funny thing to declare when you are now the ambassador of that city, but you are correct in that I think largely when it comes to Dell fighting the kicking net Odell punching holes in walls Odell kicking things all that stuff happened because this guy is perhaps maniacally competitive because he's so invested in the games themselves, the marketing stuff. Think it's evident. He just had that ad from Nike with Jarvis Landry before even playing a game. He's going to have Baker Mayfield. They're going to be the most dancing friendly millennial Centric team. We can imagine what it comes down to whether they're going to succeed because that's where we've seen this guy off the rail the market stuff big market small market. Does it really matter so much now the NFL and in the NBA like the nature of the game has changed wherever you are the show was going to show up like we've seen? Kevin durant? Become a star in Oklahoma City. Aaron Rodgers I mean that guy's pretty famous. He plays in the smallest market in American professional sports, their different ways to do this. So he'll be fine on all of that stuff. Everything would be cool as long as after gains. These dudes violent in the way, they are right now. Because if this that after a game because they want something, but which one of those guys is go be happy about loose. Up next. So you got look dodgers trae young rookie of the year. Yum, yum, high noon is brought to you by the new Wendy's big price participant theme..

"I think this moment is going to be more than we all realized right now. That's obviously, that's what we would want to go to a back in ten years and be like, man. April. First two thousand nineteen start or something. Great. That's Beckham junior on the first day of the off season program in Cleveland. He had a media session with Baker Mayfield. Jarvis Landry Myles Garrett. They all answered questions at the same time. There's a great vibe in Cleveland now, especially in light of all the crap they've been through the last twenty years after the team moved to Baltimore became the ravens. You're not supposed to mention that ravens fans. Get upset Browns fans get upset, but it's true than the Browns returned the NFL in nineteen ninety nine they've been at the plants one time since then it's been seventeen years since they qualify for the postseason have been a lot of bad bad seasons. It's a happy time. It's a positive time. Chris and look I mean, they're doing a victory lap without a victory. But they're still something to be said for being excited about what may come for the Cleveland Browns. That's right. I mean, they're they're allowed to be excited and pumped they got a young core. That's probably is electric is any core. We've seen in the NFL. I mean, I liked it. They're embracing this young core with Jarvis Landry. Myles garrett. Odell Beckham junior Baker may. Feel that they're all they're in support of Odell being signed. This is the future of the Browns were embracing these personalities and stars. We have you know, let alone. Hey, David and joke, who's not even their Nick chubs, not even there. Hey, Denzel ward was phenomenal last year at the cornerback position. The number four pick of the draft. There's a lot to be pumped about in Cleveland. And I think at the end of the day. This is the start of something magical. I I really I think between Steve Wilks being a defensive coordinator. That was a that was a great move Thanos aka John Dorsey, and some of the moves he's made once again in free agency. And then FREDDY kitchens and the way he has about them. And what I saw from that offense at the end of last year. I just go damn I know it's the off season, but they're going to have to try hard to really screw this up, and as long as they can hold it together and show some sort of maturity and love for football, which I don't think it's going to be an issue for this group. Yeah, I expect Cleveland to be be there come playoff time next year. It was so funny last week when we had John Dorsey on the show, and you started calling him fan knows. He was he was messing with me. Good is this bad. I don't know who this thermos guy is my reaction started doing it a few weeks ago. All right. So the question we're going to ponder over the next few minutes here. Where is the best young core of players right now in the NFL? Is it the Browns when you consider they've got Baker Mayfield Oto Beckham Myles Garrett Jarvis Landry. Let's throw in Denzel ward all under the age of twenty seven is. And look if you're watching on NBC, I mean, there are guys beyond that that we didn't even include in there is Nick Chubb Kareem hunt. Yeah. This is impressive. Oh, he's on there. Sorry. Yes. But yes, he is saying we didn't include when we started rattling off names. There's a lot of guys on both sides of the ball who could become star players and some already are star players. But other other teams, Chris who who would you think of that have that young nucleus of high end talent that could compare with if we just focus on four or five. Great guys. Yeah. What other teams out there would you put in that category? I mean, I don't think anybody's got the depth that of a list like the Cleveland Browns. But I think if yes, you took it to four or five names. Hey, of course, the Kansas City Chiefs jump out right away. When you talk about Chris Jones. You talk about Patrick Mahomes Sammy Watkins Tyree kill Travis. Kelsey. I I'm guessing he's about twenty six or twenty seven, but they're in line nine twenty nine. Okay. Seems younger than that. But regardless I think of them as being one of those teams that's in the conversation. You know? Hey, the Rams still got some young talent there. But I don't know of anybody is in the ballpark of this Cleveland Browns team when it comes to young studs across the roster do us or anybody that jumps out to you. I don't think there's anybody a missing here. Yeah. I mean, look if I keep going back to the eagles and Carson Wentz. Yeah. He is healthy for a full season. He stole only twenty six Fletcher Cox's twenty eight twenty eight they just picked up Jordan Howard who could be a great player for them. Right. He only old guy. They have is to Sean Jackson, and he's still fast enough to be considered a young guy. So he's part of that nucleus that they're trying to put on the field and be successful with the bears. The bears are kind got got another team where you can you know, it might not be all young guys. But it does seem like they got a lot of twenty seven twenty eight year olds right? Khalil Khalil Mack. This is this is your six for him. You've got Mitchell Trubisky coming into his own Allen Robinson. Who is a pleasant surprise. Last year. Coming off of the tornado aside from the Jacksonville Jaguars to recall now, the Jordan Howard. We're going to see more from Terrell Mike Davis one of the reasons that Jordan Howard, became expendable guy. They picked up in free agency from the Seahawks. So mean, the bears have that young nucleus of talent as well. Yeah. They do. I think they're in that conversation. You know, the Cowboys they're they're another team. I look at when you go. You'll Elliott Dak Prescott Amari Cooper Byron Jones on the defensive side, DeMarcus Lawrence all those guys. So yeah, got Kyle Vander. Good job stats get into my ear with that name. Exactly. Right. Jalen Smith that that as I sit here and start talking blues Ahah corner. I start to go damn near the Cowboys. You talk about some young studs there. They are in that conversation. In fact, they might be the number two team right behind the Cleveland Browns. When it comes to young core of exciting. You know, big time future players. Well, and you know. Even though we we from time to time, or at least I from time to time criticized the quality of quarterback play in Minnesota. They've got a lot of young players who have been locked up the second contracts who are part of that nucleus. It's almost like having a great quarterback is an indispensable prerequisite to having that nucleus of high end talent. And whether or not the Vikings have that remains to be seen. But between dalvin cook. And Adam feeling and Stefan digs in on the defensive side Xavier Rhodes is only twenty eight years. Great young Cornerbacks. That may push roads off the roster sooner rather than later. They've got great young pass rushers in deniro hunter and Steven Weatherly that that almost pushed Everson Griffen off the roster this year. So there's you know, there's the most I guess I would say most of the true playoff contenders. Have that nucleus of talent the jumps off the page. But you know, as we talk about this, Chris. Yeah, I keep coming back to the patriots because the patriots don't have that nucleus. If young talent show, and it doesn't matter. No. They just doesn't matter. And you know, I don't think they looked to be a team of a nucleus of young talent. They want kind of middle aged veterans who they know are going to be able to execute all their different game plans on a week to week basis and sprinkle in some young guys that they feel I can handle the mental workload. That's put on you by the New England Patriots. So they approach it a different way. They're in more Vance, they believe a little bit more as a as a football team and building purposes. Is there a little bit more of quantity over quality? Right. I mean New England's not type of team that looks for just star players. They kind of look for. Let's we're going to have a robust middle class as you always say. And that's how I look at them. There's like not a lot of great players on the team. But damn there's a lot of real good players and good players to go along with it backing up those real good players. And that's why they can always withstand injuries and and different changes in schemes on the offense and defensive side of the ball because they're not overpaying. Certain guys wanna top-heavy roster. What do we think of the jets? Darnold, Twenty-one lady on bell, twenty-seven Adams Twenty-three. Leonard Williams is only twenty four they're laying the foundation for something. I don't know what it's going to become, but they're laying the foundation for it. No, you're right. I mean, you you get into those guys. They just get a Jamison Crowder who still at a good age Tremaine Johnson. You said I mean, you know, even CJ Moseley is not like he's a real old guy either on the defensive side of the ball the jets as I kind of look at teams and on paper. And I know it's early, but the jets are one of those teams I say watch out for a little bit, you know, Greg Williams, Adam gays. I think they're going to be improvements. I think there's a little more talent on the jets offense than people realize they got good tight ends. You talked about some of the receivers they got and Sam darnold has big time. Potential would lead me on bell. So I think the jets are the type of team that can surprise people and really be a pain in the bar. I don't know if they're going to be a playoff team. But I think they're going to be like that seven and nine eight and team. If they can make magic happen one or two more times. Maybe they do sneak in. Yeah. And I I see Sam darnold, and we consider the reality. Darnold manned up being a shortlist franchise quarterback. And it's going to become so potentially glaring. If the giants continue to kind of around the wilderness coulda had darnold. Yes. I understand saquon Barkley was a can't miss running back prospect, but I'll take a campus quarterback prospect all due respect over a can't miss running back prospect, and it could be that darnold and the jets are running circles around the giants for years to come if they blow this and don't get a guy that they need or they ended up being three and thirteen every year until they get that guy until they finally have everything lineup. Just right. And they find the guy they want of all the teams were talking about the giants had Beckham junior and saquon Barkley, which is a nice little nucleus. But what do they have now real if you were talking about young talent other than saquon Barkley? What are they have sterling shining? Evan engram. Exactly. Right. Those are the two names that come to my mind there is those two they got, you know, a young offense to Lyman, you know, the defensive side of the ball. Yeah. There's not a whole lot of, you know, real young talent. They got some guys in the middle defensive tackles Davin Tomlinson's as a good football player. But yeah, you're right. I mean, hey, they took they traded away. A huge part of one of the more exciting. You know offense of skill position players we've seen really when you put it on paper. I mean saquon Barkley Odell Beckham junior. Evan Ingram sterling shepherd that with the New York Giants was I would have put that up against just about anybody in football would all healthy. But the problem is is it's a quarterback who cannot take advantage of the talents of a guy like Odell Beckham junior. And that became a problem not only for the giants, but for Eli manning. And I think ultimately that's why they traded Odell Beckham junior because it exposed them and some of those ways, and they didn't want to deal with that conversation anymore. Which AFC east team? Do you believe in more as a potential threat this year to the patriots jets or the bills gosh, that's a really good one? It is between those two. I think I'm going to go with the bills in a real close one. I mean, I it's like it's it's nitpicky there. But I do like, you know this. I like the bills of what they're doing Sean McDermott as far as what he's done number two of football last year. And they've added improvements to the offense are ready with Josh Allen. And I think they'll probably add more into the draft. So and got him some pass protection where I think the Buffalo Bills are building things the right way and are really headed in a direction where they're going to be very relevant for a lot of years to come with Sean McDermott as as the head coach. All right. Let's take a quick break. And we Chris you put the question on Twitter about the young nucleus. I retweeted we'll see what folks say, maybe we'll have some more to add to this later in the program for now, though, when take a break when we return have the chiefs done enough to address their defense this off season this in the aftermath of the trade for Emmanuel log bubble discuss that one t live continues right after this. "It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. It wasn't the only thing that Freddie, kitchens had to say at the Browns introductory press conference for Odell Beckham junior, which if you don't mind me saying, it was more of a love fast than anything, and it was fine eats April. And these guys are anxious to get back to work. That's how you know. There's a new vibe, and the culture is changing and there's a lot of excitement skyrocketing expectations. But I can't help it in case. You're wondering why we're talking about it? Here's what coach kitchen thinks about a roster that on paper could win a Super Bowl. Our roster looks great on paper whoop de hill. All right. But at the end of the day, we better be a good team and you start building during this time of the year. And in training camps a big portion of that fantastic. Thank you coach kitchens. He is quickly becoming one of my favorite quotes in the NFL. Now that Chuck Pagano is not a head coach anymore. We don't get to hear from him as often. But I kind of feel like he and coach kitchens would be friends. Really good friends. For instance, I could hear coach kitchens saying they can fire you, but they can't eat you save. So we have determined that coming up on Friday. We will have our next hall of flame induction, and we're going to have to make room for one coach kitchen, though, he had a lot more to say on Monday. It was him solo on the diet. And that it was the day. How do you say that word? How would you guys say that were days or dice day? Do I say it, right? The first time. No, what the hail hail the dais. I should have just said the podium. It was coach kitchens all by himself at the podium, and then there was a parade a parade of Brown's Baker Mayfield Myles Garrett Jarvis Landry and odor Beckham junior. And of course, the whole point of this was to introduce OB Jay to give them the chance to make his first public comments since the trade, and I found him to be genuine. But you know, what can I tell you the truth? I always find him to be authentic and. Genuine and and now I'm I'm trying not to be quite as gullible. Yes right now. Everything's fantastic. But there will be bumps in the road. There always are bumps in the road. When you start a new job when you go to a new situation when you have new co workers slash teammates. When you face adversity, the NFL seasons long. It's arduous, it's exhausting. It's a physical and mental grind. What if the Browns? Don't go sixteen in know, what if they don't go fourteen into what if it's not as easy as many fans think it's going to be how will Odell adjust. Now, I believe with all my heart. It helps to have his best friend there. So Jarvis Landry alongside Lovie Jay. The two of them speaking very highly of one another, of course, they've known each other since they were juniors in high school they chose to played LSU together. And it's obvious that there's a comfort ability factor there that should ease. The transition. With Lovie Jay in Cleveland, but still. Hearing the news that he got traded getting a call from giants general manager, Dave Gettleman. He said he was just going into dinner and that it was a shock. And that there still is an adjustment process. Even now, although he's forward thinking, so that's huge me the idea of leaving one situation and going to another if easier to take when you believe the future is bright at your next. Stop sort explain, of course, I'm having here. But at the same time you build a relationship with the teammates and those other guys on that team. And that's really what is the hardest thing I've seen saquon Chevy other night in like. This is different is just not suppresses. You start off in New York in your career. And next thing. You know, I'm I'm here today. But I'm very thankful to be here. Peres passage is definitely shark thing. I've come to grips with everything in processed everything. Jarvis Landry says he cried when he found out he called John Dorsey. He cried with with with coach kitchens, and he was really emotional. He and he'd been trying to recruit I'm using my air quotations. Oh BJ since he got to Cleveland, of course, because he was traded there before him and and wanted to kind of sell the Browns, but oh BJ had just signed a really fat contract in New York. And and Dave Gettleman insisted that they weren't looking to trade OB J until they got an offer that they couldn't refuse. So the reaction was shock for Odell. It was tears for Jarvis Landry. What about the reaction for one Baker Mayfield? Who was also there on the day? I just started screaming. On the field on game day. This exciting. Because it's the potential. It's knowing exactly who he is. And no one what type of guy is play in his ability speaks for itself. But then. The things that we talked about all throughout last year. But we need the types of guys we need in this locker room to go in the right direction. It's all of that potential that people are excited about, but I still am going back to Freddie kitchens with.

"We've got a poll up about the spring sports calendar and really April is jam packed. So what are you most looking forward to? We did not put a spot there for Amy's half-marathon though that is not even two weeks away. Why do I do this myself? Yeah. Don't just ignore that part. There can be some other running events that you might really be looking forward to you. But my not so much. So there's a pole there, and we also have a spring question. That's out that you can respond to you when either by Twitter Ayla radio or on our show Twitter, and our Facebook page as always is available to you that I don't really need to tell you because you all you blow up our Facebook page on a regular basis. That reminds me we had been talking about the next plateau on our Facebook page, if you are a regular listener to the show, you have been for a couple years, you know, that we set these goals for Facebook listeners and followers and friends, I'm using my air quotations. But thank you for being our friends when we got to ten thousand likes on our Facebook page. Well, then we had a special behind the scenes video. If you've never seen it. It's on YouTube actually has a Star Wars theme. It's really cool. But it took you behind the scenes. Of of the show crap and in studio, and what it was like what it's like for us on a nightly basis to to bring the show to you. When we got to fifteen thousand likes on our Facebook page, I covered a Billy Joel song. Without Billy Joel it's also on our YouTube channel, and I'm not going to be offended if you don't go and listen to me saying pressure when we got to twenty thousand likes on our Facebook page. I shared the never before seen video of me skydiving, which also makes me look like well, super cool. But your cheeks do weird things when you're free falling through the air. So that's what our YouTube channel as well. Anyway, all that we had we passed now twenty five thousand likes, and and I may have those numbers wrong. But you know, I've been rewarding you quote unquote for for taking the time to find some Facebook. And so I think we had generated a few ideas and one of them that appealed to me that I think would be fine because I know you would enjoy it. Because I always enjoy it with other people baby pictures kids pictures, and I was going through some old ones that my mom had given me with a bunch. Of letters and cards that we had send to my grandparents who are now gone or that they had sent to us. And and so I was looking through this. There's Tupperware full of pictures and cards and letters and old mementos from our family, and I came across a bunch of baby pictures and little kid pictures me and my Easter dress when I was three years old. Oh my gosh. You would love them. Just because it's so I don't know. It's just so not what you hear every night on a regular basis. But I do know that that's what we're gonna do now. So I finally decided we get to thirty thousand likes on our Facebook page. I will share again, never before seed photos of me as a baby of me in elementary school where I had pink blouses of me when I had the big hair. Oh, the big hair so good. But mostly I think you're gonna love three year old Amy with her tote blonde head and her pretty Easter dress. Oh my gosh. I was holding my little brother's hand is probably the last time that ever happened anyway. So so cute, if I do say, so myself, my brother was really cute he had like a full suit on it was rust colored. It was yet knows. Anyway, so baby pictures and a blast from the past. When we get to thirty thousand likes on our Facebook page, I promise to share those eight five five two one two four two two seven. Okay. So we're landing the plane. Freddie kitchens. Odell Beckham junior Baker Mayfield Myles Garrett Jarvis Landry. It was the love fest in Cleveland. But I did appreciate hearing from OPD L and hearing him talk about what it's going to be like to start over essentially. But also, what is it like knowing that he's not gonna play in New York with the with the teammates and the friends that he developed there. So of course, I'm happy here. Here. But at the same time you build a relationship with the teammates and those other guys on that team. And that's really what is the hardest thing. CNN saquon Chevy other night in night. This is different. It is. It's just different. You know, it's different is what we're hearing and seeing from Odell now because let's be honest. This is not what we've seen and heard from Odell over the past year or so two years even. There have been emotional outbursts. There've been interviews with Lil Wayne in which he throws his quarterback onto the bus. There have been. Crazy encounters with the kicking net. There have been cryptic tweets in which he seemed to indicate he did not want to be in New York anymore. So this is a kinder gentler. Odell, and there's a part of me I used to be really gullible. It's why would fall for April Fools jokes? All the time. I want to believe what everyone says genuine. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt. But have we not heard some of the exact opposite stuff from Odell Beckham junior? Have we not heard this before actually that he's happy what he cares about is winning and maybe winning will make a major difference. The last time giants made the playoffs. He seemed to play. Nice course, it was much earlier in his career, although they did have that whole Miami boat incident kind of derailed the the week of preparation for the postseason. The last time that the giants were there. So I appreciate what seems to be a more humble attitude. What seems to be? All the right words from Odell Beckham junior. But I wonder whether or not I can believe them. I wonder how long it will take before something sets him off. Tigers don't generally change their stripes. Now, people can change for sure. A lot of times. They're if there's some major crisis in a person's life or Fe, adopt a particular faith, maybe they get married. Maybe they have kids. There are obviously major moments in a person's life where you kinda come face to face with your mortality. But also there are moments in life in humble us. Failure generally tends to do that. Or losing someone that we really care about. The idea that life is fragile and nothing is forever. Those types of things those type of Piff unease can change a person has Odell had that or is. He just happy right now. Because he feels like he has a quarterback that is better than the one. He had at an offense. It's going to be more dynamic, and he gets to play with his best friend. And maybe that is something that carries him all the way through the season. I wonder the same thing about Antonio Brown. How long will he stay happy? If there's not been some real significant change. In his life and his heart in his mind. Well, then at some point these old attitudes will boil to the surface yet again. I did appreciate though that at least for now. Odell is all about the team. I especially when it comes to his friend Jarvis. Which could make a major difference. Mom and tell me I of course, receive. Let's go to him. Around the corner. That's how it was. It's just there's something different. Okay. Great. I believe that there could be something different between or with him and Jarvis Landry not between them. But I believe their relationship could be a major piece, and it also liked the fact that his new teammates similar to a Jon Gruden with Antonio Brown, though. Maybe not quite ostrich with his head in the sand member Jon Gruden telling us that Antonio Brown has no baggage. Okay. Well, let's not like that. But pretty kitchens is is a realist, I think is much as he's also got Hex vacations for himself and his team his realist. And he's at this point willing to give Odell the benefit of the doubt the thing that I think gets misconstrued a little bit with Odell is he loves people. He loves to play the game. A truly feel like he loves being around his teammates. As a coach. Sometimes you you you look at the team is your family. But at the end of the day, we're not family. Okay. Family you're related to by blood. You've got a daughter you got everybody home. But there is a brotherhood sorta speak in the locker room, and I think with a lot of good players. I wanna just feel that sense of brotherhood, and and compassion. And and the passion that he brings to the field is kind of contagious. Well, let's hope that it lasts. Let's hope that there's enough of that contagious commitment to brotherhood that will carry this team through the season lot of high expectations a lot of extra attention can the Browns live up to that will a lot of it will depend on the type of attitude that OB brings he's a lightning. Rod people. Always notice him. They always want to watch him. It's a lot like a Baker Mayfield. Okay. Well, can these guys? Coexist. Can they make sweet music on the football fields with coach kitchens at the helm? It's got to be so entertaining. It's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS.
