"More, but raising our studio today to kind of catch me up on this thing. Ray, welcome back thanks for coming in. Happy to be here. Ray and I were just talking about travels to Greece and turkey because you go there sometimes too. Yeah, I end up I go to Greece every summer and because your family you have rights in laws there, right? Right, Greek relatives, so we go every year. I need a beautiful country and everybody should go there at least once because it's so beautiful. The water is as good as you hope it will be. It really is, does not disappoint. I know, that's a thing. I thought, oh, I've heard about this. I'll be disappointed if it's not just spectacularly glittery water it is. I swam every time I go. Oh yeah, it's invigorating. It's just in the food and everyone's having fun. You haven't had cucumbers in tomatoes until you've been to Greece. Oh God, I have to tell my husband that you said that because he always says that. Oh, really? Yes. Well, that's the way I felt. So what's the one town city or stop that somebody should make when they go to Greece? Well, there's so many. I mean, I really think Athens, you gotta see Athens. It's such a beautiful city and there's so much history there. And I think some of the islands on the ionian side, there's one kefalonia, which was Venetian. So there's a lot of Italian influence there, very beautiful, and it's greener than the cycladic islands like Mykonos and Santorini, which are really beautiful too, but they're more arid over there. And they get a ton of tourists over in Santorini. If you will, and that's why I usually go to these tourist stops, which as a tourist stop Santorini ain't bad. Oh, no. Mykonos ain't bad. Roads ain't bad. Beautiful. And Athens is all of that. It's a tourist stop, but it's also great history. It's funny because we are walking through the streets of Athens, there's all of these restaurants and cafes and the managers would stand out on the streets, and they would say, and they were so trying to pull us in. Right. Almost literally, but certainly with their words. And as we'd walk by, this one guy goes, hello, American movie stars. You are American movie stars. Yes, come in. Like, how can you say no to a guy? And you go, I know that's a line of crap, but it's such a good line of crap. Yeah, so I'm flattered, so I'm gonna go in. I respect your line. Ray, what's the latest from the Biden administration about student loans? Well, right now, the Biden administration has done a lot for federal student loans that people don't know about, but one big new change is this new IDR waiver, which means that you get much closer to getting your loans for giving even if you're just in the private sector. So we see clients all the time who are basically like, oh my God, I've been paying on these loans for 20 years or 30 years since the 90s. When am I going to be done? This IDR waiver gets you much, much closer to forgiveness, but there are some affirmative steps you've got to take in order to take advantage of it. I'll ask you about that, but what happened to loan forgiveness? What happened to the ten and $20,000? Still on pause and we're waiting for the U.S. Supreme Court to decide whether or not that executive order is constitutional. So we should own the spring. So then are we in forbearance then right now? Still in forbearance, because basically the Biden administration said, look, it's not fair to ask people to pay on student loans that might actually be canceled or forgiven. So let's wait and see how the Supreme Court decides and if it survives, then your loans are forgiven. And forbearance goes to win now, they usually set a den date. Well, so what they've said is if the Supreme Court decides the issue and resolves it, then it's going to be 60 days after that decision or June 1st or June 30 days after June, so really what they're saying is the end of August or September. So we're really just keeping an eye on it. And it does not apply to all, well, actually the forbearance does apply to all federal student loans. But as you know, the forgiveness only applies to people making under a certain income level, a 125,000 if you're single, 250,000 if you're married. That's the forbearance. I'm sorry, that's the forgiveness. Right. Forbearance, though, does apply to everybody that took out a federal loan. Right, it does apply. So that's actually a really nice break and it's a really good time to kind of get everything in order and what we're doing for our clients is making sure that all of these other changes that the Biden administration is doing through executive orders that were able to take advantage of those for our clients so the IDR waiver, which

"Every day it's a different airline. People make fun of spirit and southwest. Well, guess what? Those flights are going out more on time than some of the premium carriers. Oh my God. I don't know, girl. I don't know. I can do it. Right, yeah. What about the spirit for that? I know, right? What are some of the best ways to find cheaper flights? Yeah. So I highly recommend Google flights, so just Google dot com slash flights. It's in a post together most to airlines. And what that will let you do and I recommend this summer everywhere is expensive, but Google flights will let you do the explorer map. So you can put in your home airport LAX and then it'll show you the cheap fares around the world. So what I recommend this summer because everything's expensive, go where the cheap fares are. Go somewhere new that you've never been before. Save hundreds or thousands on the airfare and then, you know, just figure it out from there. Travel's supposed to be about fun. Yeah, adventure, like try new places. Yeah. Even if it's traveling in the country, there can be some kind of. Right? What are the best places to travel right now? So, you know, Europe's packed, you know, and I know I get it, a lot of people haven't been in a couple years, and now all the testing requirements are dropped to come back. So you don't have to worry about getting stuck abroad testing positive. You know, the best places to go, I think, you know, for bang for your buck, South America, Colombia. And if you want beaches, you're gonna pay a ton going to Mykonos, but they're really beautiful beaches, Nicaragua. Costa Rica is pretty expensive. And also, I'll just say for new year's and for like this fall, Asia's reopening, you know, Thailand's open Indonesia, Bali, back, and Bali is cheap as I've ever seen it. Wow. So what are your trips? What are your tips for booking last minute trips? Like, you know, if you want to go maybe this holiday weekend, is there like, is it too late? No. Or can you figure it out? Well, some routes it is. It's just sold out. Some flights are just overbooked, especially now with all these cancellations. What happens? Does that waiting list just rolls over flight to flex. So you can't even buy a ticket on a lot of flights. But use your frequent flyer miles. A lot of people have them saved up. And last minute, if they're open seats on a plane, the airlines will actually open them up for frequent flyer mile redemption. So don't assume it's too late to use your mile. Sometimes that's the best time to use them. Okay, how do you calculate? I should be calling you for this one. I'm trying to figure this out. How do you calculate when is it beneficial to use your miles? It's tough. In general, I like to tell people get more than one cent per mile in value. So if the flight's a thousand bucks and it's going to cost you a 100,000 miles, that's about that's one cent per mile. If it's a $1000 flight, and it's only 30,000 miles to go for it, right? That's the general rule of thumb. But these days, I say, so many people have lots of miles, you know, continuing to stack up. They lose value over time because airlines are sneaky. I mean, they create these programs and then at any point in time, they increase the amount of miles. And that's the trend we've been seeing. So like high level miles lose value over time, so use them now. Save that cold hard cash so you can have a better trip once you're there. Okay. What if your flight's canceled? Then what? So here's the worst. If you're in Europe or flying to Europe, there are European regulations, it's called EU two 61. The airlines owe you cold hard cash in the U.S., sadly, we have no passenger rights. No. No. The airline basically just shows you a refund. And a lot of airlines will try to give you a voucher saying, no, no, I want the full refund in cash. I don't want some dumb voucher I might not be able to use. Right. But here's what most people don't know, your credit card. So if you put that on an AmEx or a chase or you actually most travel credit cards have what's called trip delay or interruption or cancellation cost. Oh, wow. Okay. So if.

You suddenly connect money with your rich life and that is really the beginning of the journey once you do that. Then you're going to be ready to receive things like the tax benefits of a roth. Ira but nobody's going to sit here and convince you to open up a roth ira until you know. Y you're doing it and to put ten to twenty percents of that's the that's something that i got out of this today. Ten to twenty percent of your income yearly gross yeah into savings and investments got it and what i found with that is kind of almost becomes a game. And you're like oh. If i can do ten twelve fifteen. I'll tell you what. Here's a because addictive yes. Here's a fun little math. And i notice that already sounds like crazy but let me give you just a couple of quick things. Blow your mind about math. You will make more money increasing your savings rate one percent per year. Then you would doing almost anything else. So if you're currently investing for example fifteen percent okay. Fifteen thousand dollars out of one hundred thousand dollars. Next year you make it sixteen and next year seventeen and next eighteen that number turns into tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars over your lifetime. Forget lattice it's bullshit. Three dollars. five dollars makes no difference. Just that little one change one percent per year is tremendous to you. You know what altering lots for me personally is it's really limited. The impulse spies the stupid. Like i don't need that impulse buyers because every time i do and i'm like oh maybe i could like if that's a thousand man. I quit extra thousand. Maybe i can put an extra three hundred. You have a reason. Like i don't like because sometimes you're just sitting on hot cash right. You're sitting there. Because i see you in the offense versus defense period out here. Yup and you're on the sideline and your coaching up the secondary and that's got to be a group where there's a lot of competition because there were a couple of guys that were starters that left episode. What's going on with the secondary. And what kind of coaching i think of you as an offensive coach. Honestly kinda coach and you do just congratulate nor making sure whatever that call is defensively. We're kind of in alignment with our our techniques are fundamentals and our calls and communication. But i couldn't be more pleased with the leadership that i've seen from jalen ramsey. I'm really looking forward to watching. Various williams continue to build on a great campaign last year jordan fuller and his second year. You know expect him to potentially wear the green dot which is a real credit to the confidence and the communicator. That he is and so. I think rehim coach avro coach cooley. They've done a great job. But it starts with those players and jalen and outstanding job along with fuller of really leading. The way sean. You've been here a number of years. Now as i head coach. Where have you grown the most. I think it's i really know i've said this before. But i think it's continuing to rely on the people around. You know having trust in them being able to delegate when you're surrounded by great people you can really trust those guys. Hey great people right now this. La thing it's just great isn't it. i love it. But it's it's i think it's continuing to the you know preach the importance of being surrounded by great people. We talked about religion. But i could go on and on about our coaching staff. And then when you got the right key players in place you know you can lean on them and sleep better at night. We've talked to you about this a number of times over the years. You've always said that in the off season you gotta try to find more time to just do you. And i'm sure veronica feels that way as well crust besides the crust. What what did you do this off season. That allowed you just to be. You know what we went to mykonos for a week incongruous this year it was outstanding fun lot of good food a lot of but it must be answer and thereafter to step in getting down. You know what the liquid courage is real. It was fun. We had a blast. And then i think it's you know when you're and unplug lay. Let's let's be present. That's the big thing you know. Just be totally present. And whatever you're doing and that can just lead to living the life you wanna live. I mean it is pretty amazing when you take a step back and say this is what you do for a job i. I'm sure you guys feel the same way when you're enjoying it when you're using the platform the right way to pour into people positively good things can happen then you can just kind of be at the mercy of. Hey we want to do a lot of special things but hey let's shoot are shot. Let's not be afraid of whatever You know be afraid to fail and continue to grind and do our thing and enjoy it. While we're looking forward to talking to during the season they going to be on with us every week. So is that news to you as long as it's a limited time man i'm in fort limited. That's what i'm saying but what i'm saying is it's it's i feel like we're just like at this point now. Words it's like talking about this. Even would have been taboo like ten years ago and now i feel like it's almost normal. It's and i'm not saying that's a good. I understand dude. I get it actually like i was just talking about this with jessica. Go joe like oh. They always say sex sells. They're selling their sound like it is. It has gotten show out of control now. Remember that thing that i call that a long time ago to hold the whole only fans shit grow damning their fans and there's was like an agency that like expose them all. There's all fake now. Well, you guess what a lot of research will be written and we'll bring that to you through the morning and onto the real yield. This afternoon right now joining us and it is an acclaimed spot, particularly on a July morning where, at any moment she could be drowned out by the lawnmowers of the North Lawn of the White House. The history here is great. They were on the law and the journalists ruin the lawn. Then they put gravel down. They called it double Pebble Beach. So joining us in the asphalt in front of the White House, commonly called Stonehenge. January Harden joins us from the stone end today, Emery July 4th is always hugely symbolic for senators and representatives. They go home, they kiss babies, etcetera. What's their biggest worry right now with their constituents. Tom, I think the biggest one of the biggest worries right now is two fold. One, of course, is jobs given. We're going to have that jobs report today are enough people getting back into the labor force Some states. We already see her taking away some that supplemental supplemental unemployment benefits because of that. Some states and progressives are worried about childcare. We have some, especially women on the sidelines of this job recovery because they cannot get the childcare. Second. There was a covid briefing here, and the CDC is incredibly more worried about Yelton variant that started from India and the Southwest and the Midwest. That is a key concern for a lot of counties. I just don't have the vaccination. I'm so glad you brought Bring us up in Marie, because this is front center. We talked to Pecos at Johns Hopkins about Los Angeles. You mentioned the Southwest and for the rest of us fat and happy. I mean, this is a real deal for Los Angeles is Fourth of July weekend. It certainly is. And I just was in the United Kingdom where the delta variant is. Yeah, in the Delta. Of course, I was in the Delta vary, and Tom is just the main driver. Of all the uptick of cases they are a little bit longer in rolling out the vaccines than the United States, they have a longer lag time between the 1st and 2nd jabs. But that is the concern here. If you have a county that is not vaccinated, the delta variant spreads much more quickly. And that is a key concern. The CDC and some states, they say. Right now it is already the leading variant and Marie. So what's President Biden's message to Americans, especially as he tries to highlight the progress that the United States has made with vaccinations. But also the uneven progress in specific places. I think he's going to have to really walk this fine line for the last week. We've seen a lot of press releases from the White House touting their economic growth and the recovery. They even put out how to have a cheaper fourth of July. There take that. Inflation is transitory. Now your fourth of July barbecue this year is cheaper, but at the same time they want to make sure people are a looking for jobs. There are jobs out there are people looking or they just still accepting those unemployment benefits and to get vaccinated if you have not been vaccinated as a key message from this administration What could derail this economic recovery. Some would say in question is potentially this Delta variant and where you talked about jobs and the spin. After the jobs report comes out, he pointed to those enhanced unemployment benefits. What's the Democratic line on these? Democratic line is that they want to keep these on these enhanced unemployment benefits. Many progressives especially speak to the fact that there are a number of people who have not been able because of the pandemic. How ever you have to make sure that your summer Tan has completely faded. Yes because when you're going link to do any sort of laser treatment the laser is attracted towards that dark pigment and if your Tan it's not going to be able to tell the difference between your skin and the unwanted pigment and you're going with Burns but we do know that it takes ten full months to have a full six treatment cycle of hair removal because you're going every six weeks except this is a good time to book for. "As I'm sure every one of you has seen Lindsay Lohan dancing in Mykonos video. Let me just recap this. So basically, I don't know if it was Lindsay or someone else posts video of Lindsay, truthfully living her life in egos, and she's dancing. She's living it up anyway, busy Phillips and Kellyanne decide to remake the video. It's on Friday night. So they make in their kitchen. They posted video and it was hilarious. Critique in comments on a lot of celebrities coming out like, oh my God, this mazing. So we post it and we kind of made it until challenge like doing the Lindsay Lohan challenge. And what was so shocking to me was that there was this mixed response like half the people are more than half the people loved it thought it was hilarious, and the other half started to really come for busy and Kelly saying that they were bullying, Lindsey, listen, let me tell you. We go through a very vigorous checklist before we post anything to make sure that it's not offensive me in voting, whatever. Not for one second. In my mind that I think of that at all in that light, especially. Knowing busy Phillips who was like the preacher of being like so sweet. So nice. So good. Like her tensions weren't to bullying when they were in the slightest bit malicious. So so that happens, right. They posted in everybody kind of starts talking about it personally. I didn't. I couldn't. I usually try to like, see all the sides that situation. I could not see that was bullying. Then. TMZ comes out and calls it mocking Spencer Pratt than defense, busy busy than comments on it being like guys. Are you kidding? We're literally two moms on a Friday night. Lindsey is invading was having the time of her life. We were just trying to like, do her dance, what it was yet. So then I found my most validation when Lindsay reposted the video herself saying, do the challenge was loving. It was basking in the glory peaking. I'm telling you, I'm telling you she's peaking. So there's Lindsay having the time for life. All these people that were saying that she was upset about it when she posted. I finally was like, there you go guys and you know they're still people like who that's still not going to get through. She only posted it because she wanted to make it look like she wasn't upset even though she like, you know what I mean? But it wasn't. She was happy. I thought she was great dancing truly thought she looked great and was having so much fun. I just that whole thing really frustrated me frustrated me because I felt like it was taking it was like a glass glass, half empty approach, like really looking at it, the negative of a very late hearted fund situation. I agree. I tried to get my thoughts really pissed me off.
