"Including the distressing situation that midwives are currently going through lots of you got in touch. After we discussed to damning reports on maternity that laid bare the issues of staffing and safety just a couple of weeks ago you wanted to hear it from midwives themselves about their experiences so that is exactly who you go. You're going to hear from a little bit later this morning. One a community midwife and another works in a hospital now they reveal what it's really like to be on the frontline in that profession. So thank you so everyone who got in touch about that also. A new study has found that eighty six percent of black women have either been a victim of domestic or sexual abuse or no family member who has been assaulted. we'll be discussing. What more can be done to address the needs and concerns of women from ethnically diverse communities. Plus we're expecting a significant legal updates on the case against imprisoned former surgeon in patterson who over fourteen year period carried out unnecessary and damaging surgery or more than one thousand female patients. And also this morning. What is home to you will be having a discussion with artists. Harriet hill after she walked from london to mid wiles exploring. Just exactly what home means to her and to others as well. We'd love to know what it means to you though. Maybe it's a place so maybe it's not anything physical at all Perhaps in emotional bond for example. We'll get in touch. Would love to hear from us away ways you can text us on eight four eight four. Four texts will be charged at your standard message. Rates all We're on at bbc woman's hour on social media and of course you can always email us through the website as well now. I this morning with the olympics. Well underway and with it being south asian heritage month. Our first discussion is very pertinent. Why is there a visible absence of south. Asian women in sports. What are the barriers getting in their way. We'll see women join me now. Who can delve into this for us. mara half easy Is a women's health coach and personal trainer working predominantly with south asian women as she's also the sports co lead for south asian heritage month and is insurance after the my goodness. I don't know how you find the time. Also joining us is charlene. Cass manny a senior project manager for musleh which is an organization that wants to change and challenge inequalities for muslim communities shaheen also helps run muslim gals fence. Very good morning to you both shane. Oh come to you. I i mean good morning. Identify the situation for us then at spell it out for us. Why are there so few south asian women and girls in sports in comparison to other women. Well i think it boils down to quite a few things and generally been. I think a huge knack of access. So we took in about. I mean can you to stop. Let me take you back. Refused steps and other people would say that. Oh you know it's due to culture is due to. "Floor. You'll get us two full time employees back. I started signed three at a time. Now what changed did i get the call later. Know that i get the duplicator. No they might company change ending. Know what changed was my mindset how i approached it realized it wasn't working and then realize what was a better way to go through that conversation and results speak for themselves. So if mindsets typically set on us a spectrum or continuum growth mindset on one end fixed mindset on the other. You know you're you're somewhere. Blend of the two moving hopefully from a fix to a growth. So what what's on. What's on the opposite. End of the law. Study mindset question before but i'd say is a is a is a resistance mindset. Okay something that stops you and a lot of what we cover the bulk of things that stop us. You know when you think about what stops your moving forward or the speed whatever you wanna call it. Ninety nine percent of the time has nothing to do extra horses brought you and has to do with your mindset. How you thinking when colbert hit. All of us wanted insane. Poll some copies prospered because in some part of demand. Most of the companies didn't prosper them. What's the difference between those bathroom. Those that didn't mindset simple when you think about what i did my mindset. Was anyone competed. There's no money there right. The up will come out. And i kept going. Energize myself put myself in a frame of mind that company sharp to my mind. Shopping put a lot of videos. That comes to mind set. Clutter facts what you do. It also affects how you think. Oh absolutely yeah. I mean it's it's you know i think philosophy has ellen the growth mindset abundance and opportunity Yeah look does a great job of spelling outside the the limiting beliefs that we all have that You need to pay attention to. Let's say so may give us examples. Are that some of the big limiting beliefs that we all encounter when we Trying to change our mindset while we all have a different reason that all musleh. I'm a freud late to people. Find out who i really am at that one. What kerr meets some of the top performers in the world and at the meeting and his guy oscars up the gazoo. Emily knows his best after out there but after it makes me in houston going to his own housing guy. Wait till the comes out way too. They think i'm far. The only differences doesn't stop him right. he's you brew it but other people get stopped by that so the trick is we all have stories that we tell ourselves. Since we're young you're not going to eliminate the stories most at a time when you recognize that the story would d- do to change it to get the velocity back in the key point that i want you audience. The any howeizeh story can change it at your starring store all right. You don't like to change the script. Yeah exactly so. What do i my story. Somebody says it does something we in turn create a stories to what we think. That was meant most of the time wrong. That's toys dictating. How we feel that day the decisions we make himself what a common example and the a funnier says something to you. Take as an insult. You interpreted that way. But what do you do you stu about it. How much time during the day is wasted because bothering you right and then we use it on one day. It could be two weeks later before you finally speak to you. Good friend and then when you speak to them and you realize that their attention was totally different you you took it. You're going on man. Was i jerk could be a boss manager nas other friend right exactly anybody but yet. How much time did you spend on that. That was taken away from your velocity. How did it impact your decision making and so forth. That's what we're talking about. So stories unearthing and the stories of fuel of a fueled by emotion. Some as good some is not good. So example. imitator says you are never amount to anything. because you're so wild. Routing some people can shake a chip on his shoulder improve. They're going to be good no matter what they do and they're all ahead of the game and they win that's good but if they overuse it and now due to the sacrifice of family and all that it's not so good at that moment for the people so the bottom line is if your story serving you well using it at the story doesn't serve you well person says you'll never amount anything. Every time he tries something new all it's never gonna have been. I'm not going to amount to anything. So you don't even bother. Think about it and trying it. That's what it doesn't serve you. Well the only thing i'm asking you do recognize us just story. It's not reality and we recognize this story than easily understand. You could rewrite. The story is the next step is what do i want to story to be. Dip gonna push before right. Yeah something similar. My first sales training class. Roughly the same time you got started. Sunway company sounds away. Two weeks National training center comeback. We have an evaluation from the instructor which is at that time. Big companies tech companies hired hundreds hundreds of people with the express intent. Thing a weed out people over the course of the year so the evaluation from the instructor was pretty decisive or could be so married handing mind to my my branch manager and going back to my desk in the bullpen waiting for him to come get me a night. It was sealed tight an auto was he comes into the bullpen and crooked finger. At me and says you come with me. I go into his office. And he's he's sam. Systems chair leans back both evaluation obvious looking at it. So how do you think. Sales training when Thought lots of trump question. It's.

"I think he's getting close man. You plays every day. That's where inviting editor guy if you're getting two hundred overall guy which is probably a little bit of mentor is a little better than that. And you're getting a guy who could be in the top hundred. That's the upgrade. i like. i'm not gonna give you a good player for a minimal like five. Yes i see your point it. The question was worded poorly. It should be. Who can get for. Volley chris taylor. Right now is on straight up. Twenty homers eighteen steals over one hundred runs. He's got forty. Two runs scored fifty one games. Sure good multi eligible. Love having guys like that. I do to although danny tanner stinks. I don't know why recommends it's also in that situation of leadoff guy always gonna play volley redmond. That's fair so true. Don curtis wants to know. At what point do we start buying into what john gant is doing. This season sub two year a whip is nearing his era. Yeah exactly that's that's the indicated you look at people or my goodness. How do you do that. I don't think i've seen that before. I mean obviously the home run rate impossibly low bad crazy but a one fifty to whip with a one sixty year a this far into the season you were ever remember seeing that you trust the whip. You also trust that statcast tells you is. Expected era is five ten gene. His fifth is three ninety. Seven now is this is not bad driven. He's actually hard to hit. This is actually kind of otani. Some degree right. These is much wilder. I think than rotundi though. I'm looking at the walk. Rates being at least eleven and a half percent each of the past five years. That's a. I don't know how he must be rostered. And mostly by this point. But i i would really try to sell as fast as possible when you got him in my in. Only he's just. I'm going to exploit matchups where i can do like who's giving you a legit. Who's even giving you. Chris taylor for john games. I mean who's buying on if you talking about middle infield dealing gad for a specula- plan gavin locks. Maybe hoping fletcher actually. It's a barrel once. I don't know who else. I'm looking at this list and i can't even find somebody that's realistic. If you have gant would you trade him for glacier tours oh in second yes would you. Yes because absolutely. That's a false conference. That's i agree with selling them in gantt but you're buying a player. I don't think any better. David musleh or as will get better towards hostility. Get worse than he's been he What do you expect from the final four months for glacier tours. I'm always carly hitting to sixty six home runs and three steals. he's walking. He's not striking out awesome contact. We love it but the six ninety seven opium is asleep jealous man. Yeah my realistically hopeful. Projects ver- taurasi matches the batting average to sixty five and he hits you twelve. Maybe fourteen homers the rest of the rate so we have a player who drafted around five. Who was to sixty six with fifteen home runs. And as you and i know that doesn't matter anymore if you're trading john gant from john gant cost you nothing and is on pace for fifty runs scored and fifty five. Rbi what are these one of the baseball absolutely one of the biggest bus of the year and we have been criticized. This we we knew. This is based on two thousand twenty. I knew it. Yeah but i don't have them rostered anywhere but it's already i don't either about baseball and twenty nineteen did some crazy stuff. Mitch garber glare towards the thirty eight home. Runs half against baltimore like so we to write about this. So many of the power numbers for twenty thousand nine. These guys aren't even close. We talked about kevin bijou. All the time. It's guys like this. They were taurus. Maybe bellinger we'll see but the short term is the easy for taurus. The long term is the difficult. And that's what i'll ask you. You're doing dynasty rankings. Where you put him right now overall. You have to have some sort of optimism that there's a career there don't you to fifty but where where does that place in first career do you think he's ever a top ten shortstop again. I don't think first of all. They're nuts if they plan but shortstop next year and they are not if they do that. I think is a bad shortstop. Labor towards the bachelor is definitive their worst. Dd is definitively. Better than you're going to write dis careers at defensive player off off of this year at shortstop tristan he was bad last year to. He's he's i love guy i've been with. The yankees was quite good. I don't you realize like the defensive runs. Saved shortstop and third base for philadelphia sore arab. They're har or glaciers a lot younger than deedee. So didi can play second base for somebody next year but labor needs to be playing second base for your mesa. Dd would have fallen apart that quickly but again you watch him every day with the yankees in the last three weeks because there's something wrong with his elbow wondering if like the ronald torius is in everyday shortstop right now. Actually you know what they did. Defense vol apart with the tommy. John surgery. Well we didn't have range before that. Okay when he was on. Your team are i. Don't think it's a great year. He greeted out average based on jeeter. That's next question. we're wasting time. We guys got me to think. It's i pulled up the sprint. Speed leaderboard here. I want you to tell me faster or slower than down. Smith told us one of them. We're not going for that one josh bell faster or slower than dom smith according to sprint. Speed slow our allergies. Faster than dom smith he is faster. Lightning speedy ranks three thirty seven in speed this year. Smith three forty five. I wanna long or gio or shallow faster or slower than dom smith sr lower. Wow i'll say faster again. Master trysted to for two.

I came to london and all of the world was. They're fantastic the same the same time in oslo at that time then it was really white. I see the nowadays. Maybe read that. I said the other day. I love to go to the shopping centers in the center of all. Slow because there. That's just like london. There's something that the haven't experienced before or seen before before I'm i hope. I will stay here is until i die I'm very sure you will. Because i even though you say ordinary. I think you'll probably want him to more extraordinary people. There is and i'm really not stay being. I have a dog and the dog takes me walking. I'm not taking her. She's i i do all the boring things for them. I'm curious to know what it was like to be and nowadays maybe it's not appropriate to say you know used the term fema composer. But i'm still very curious what it was like to be composer in you know like in the eighty s in the nineties. I mean do you feel like it has changed a lot since then how. You're being positive. I need other. I got in vienna. He thought that the there was a waste of time to have me there because he said women the girls they've marianne then they don't compose musleh wasted time change. Teachers said goodbye to him and the one not kaufman but on the one in your theoretical field. Alfred was his name and he was a very nice man and he was not like that. So but apart from that. I must say that Why generation women Feminism became very strong factor. So i can't say say that i have ever felt repressed. But that doesn't mean that depression wasn't there because i was very privileged. I've grown up in the most privileged countries I was privileged would family. I was privileged with possibility opportunities. I've had all the opportunities and all the things that i needed but there is There is a structural has been so you can just see in all of the percentage of what is being performed. What is being talked about them. And so on and so forth of course. There is male chauvinism in music alive very strongly soul and and we still have to make sure that that we get a better balance but It is true that the when my generation we had the feminism and we had the the artists action for for rights for for performers and creators Which took part in. And which led me in contact with many many other artists from other fields and there was a strong feeling among all women their own generation and also the ideal the it interesting thing is not before the last war we talk about the war and that many were since then but not in in our part of the world before then i look at my grandmother and and you know they wear working and they had come very far but then came the war and then came the after war and then all the women were knocked back into the kitchen because everything was going to be so safe and nice and again and the children and school and blah blah blah. It was set back really and for them but not us.

You can say executive coach at the same time when i was In when i was working on semiconductor unindo goodbye i spent host the nine years in the senate so i ended up working also with people. Really act the ground. That will disastrous. Because you're soft machine operators thickness shuns people like that I learned how you that that being of service When i turned about thirty three. I really nice. That's what makes me truly. Happy is when i do things for people so i use as on that the destiny of becoming doing start off since up wasn't number one for me a dsp just my vehicle the of servants to other people. But i very score. I am happiest when i'm doing things for others so fortunately when ideas face came into picture in my life was mi- offered service to ball and i didn't know i was in analog devices. I was saying that the quality management man and being in the program of you know he can is about culture and then it's also about people development so i worked with engineers who were given leadership roles when they would lead a tiki theme and so that process i saw the transformation in their leadership skills and i saw also how. I am able to intervene the right time. I saw that kind of all of the things on the dots in my life. A neck said when ideas idea space came into the picture. Okay now before. I talk about ideas face. I wanna understand because again you've had a very illustrious career supporting again. Ceo -s presidents. Be really people of power but one thing that i know now having gone through a little bit of a startup journey everybody that also makes it to the top are not perfect. They have big loss. That may need the right people to mitigate the risks and also save themselves from from addition as well because they if they don't have the right people around them they'll be the cost of their own device right. But what i wanted to ask me is two things first off base in your experience having to work with all these this really powerful men. What makes them great. How how do they become great at what they do and what is the similarities of those with start founders. See starting out especially those ones who you think will eventually make okay so you know. When i was small. I would hear things like to be a good businessman. You have to. Luce really can't be. What does this ruthlessness. I during that. It isn't this nece. I need to become grade. You'd need a it's a mix of everything bod every. Ceo has i this streak in down to become a ceo. You need that the spotted street. What is despotic three for dot. At some time. You know you need to make that decision. You knew the shots have they who you call this show and the results. Yeah yeah so Need to make tough decision so I was really bad and And heartless but the successful ones the have if people in their hearts but they also can be with the string. Not give in every single. I desire or yeah A good leader is also someone who can communicate so they need. They have this vision. I had a boss. Says i want this to be a great great place to work. Okay so what does it mean. What does it mean. I wanted like this this this this and then you know what left to us. Me and my cooly execute. John's he's he's able to be division so if communication is also important in in a good leader five things that like skills like that not necessarily because a good leader should know how to use all those skills around them way. You know that this. What extreme How worried is this area. Based see the people around them as an asset yes. It's so people say that while how about you being a person i can asset its human capital It's something i wish.

With Matt, Eshelman Twenty Nine, a Joe Biden backer in Brooklyn New York Except this, they both worry about the legitimacy of the upcoming presidential election and fear and outcome that appears tainted. Could heighten a out appears that appears tainted could heighten the nation's already frayed psyche and exacerbate violence in the streets. So I guess what we're talking about ladies and gentlemen as I ask yourself the question is, is violence going on the streets because I think that that is pretty clear. Escalated about violence going on the streets because it's Always a sustained of violence going insurance easy to forget that in keener even Manchester, there's always violence in the street, but it's not always about who's going to be elected. Holiday. Yeah. It's. It's usually just straight up robbery or something like that. Maybe. There's a political component or an issues and politically simple. Yeah to some extent. So now we do have violence going on the street it is politically motivated and what happens if more of it occurs is this sort of one of those kind of curves where it shoots upward into something bad. I don't know but I've been concerned about it for some time. There's not alone just saying because it kind of indicates that people had a whole lot of faith in federal elections in the first place to be able to to lose it. I think that. People are Trump honestly. People aren't excited about Joe. Biden he sucks he sucked for a long time. Democrats don't like him but they really hate donald trump and they would take just about anything over him. And the people who love Donald Trump. Love Him. These really excited about him. I mean if you can get, you can get just about every American to come up with some kind of opinion on Donald. Trump. What no matter what that opinion is, and thus there you have a powder cake. Nobody's GonNa shoot anybody over Mitt. Romney. Nobody's GONNA shoot anybody over John McCain. But over Donald Trump. They might just is what it seems because Donald Trump has been painted as both the greatest of saviors. And the most evil list of oppressors Even Barack Obama who was heralded as a savior doubt. Interesting title for a man who is responsible for the shelling of a hospital and killed whose nickname was drone bomber a having fired more cruise missiles and all other peace prize winners combined. But there's this. Selection bias in the airport. Well. What the crucial cruise missiles his most piece I mean maybe that's for the past couple of years but. I imagine that most peace prize winner maybe just really wrong and thinking that most peace prize have something to do with peace will be politicians used to have a long standing policy of not awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to anyone who is leading a military at war at the time. Make Sense. Well, at the time he was let alone that he was even office or however many it was I'm not sure he was even in office when he got the Peace Prize, the peace prize was sort of hey. You look more peaceful than George Bush. Here you go. Is what seemed like to me anyway. Nobody very few people really considered Barack Obama to be an evil person a bad person. It would just wasn't going that direction. Some people thought that he was born in. Kenya. which I suppose is possible. There's no S. at the end acceptable bras there. Are you can buy one bra but you got to boobs. There's all kinds of issues here using double standards double double double double do the standard. Yes anyway you know. We're going to go into some we. We are still waiting for our guests to come in today but I did get a chance. SOC- something recently and so it's time for. What the hell did I just watch? You had rape the name I hear. What the Hell is headed isis? Watch yes the movie movie. I got to see actually the documentary that I got to see that was on Netflix. It was called Miss Americana the documentary covering Taylor Swift's life. It is a look. At the comic artists Taylor Swift during a trans transformative transformational time in her life as she embraces her role as a singer songwriter and harnesses the full power of her voice. Yes us and this was directed by. Lana Wilson Alright. Obviously this is a documentary series or a documentary that covers everything that goes on in her life when it comes to do how she makes her music to her rise to fame what she was like as a child to what she's like as a as a thirty year old woman all the way up to our thirty thirtieth birthday pretty much and well. I'll say this. This is the movie that I was was talking about before where she had a standing ovation at Sundance. All right so people really did eat this. This thing up people really appreciated how raw and candid. She was throughout this whole thing. You've got to see all walks of her life. Everything from her relationships with her mother with their parents to her team to the backlash she talks about the the situation with Kawhi. Okay when he walks up and goes I'M GONNA I'm Gonna I'm GonNa let you talk but I'm let you let you finish. But they had the best video of all time talks about her are like her the whole situation that the other situation in regards to Konya calling her asking her if he can put her name in the song called hold of famous and all that stuff and how Kim yea basically leaked the video where she was basically saying. Hey it's okay to do this. I'm okay thank you so much Musleh for letting me know and asking for for my permission to put my name in the song and all of that good stuff of and so it was definitely a very interesting interesting story definitely interesting documentary but you could clearly see that. It was geared geared to get people to a feel for her. You know yeah and then of course you see it that she wants to have a political voice. Start trying to find her voice politically. ooh and how she sits there and says. Hey you know what you can't in if you're a country singer you can't really speak out on your own personal political views if you do get a lot of backlash I e the dixie chicks for example when they said some stuff about President Bush. Junior the whole world basically boycotted the dixie chicks. And have you heard anything about the dixie chicks. Since then nope so I forgot so she got yes yes so her. Her whole team was very nervous about her. Getting out there to speak out as a Democrat. Because of course you've seen in country or is she was known to be in country now she's going into the pop world in all of that and so it was a very interesting documentary it. It talks about her issues with her eating disorder to her. Love Life to everything right so I do appreciate eight her doing the documentary. 'cause it was real raw and yes I did see a Taylor swift movie. I don't know why I did that. But you know what some real stuff. I wanted to see what goes on. I don't listen to her music. I'm not a fan of her music but at the same time it was interesting to see the person behind the art and just seeing what she's like in real life and it seemed seemed like she was real genuine. It didn't seem like it was forced and fake. ooh unless she's like amazing actress too that we don't know about you know what I'm saying right other than that. It was very nicely put together. I give it four stars. gave it four out of five so it was. It was really good. It was actually really really good way was on takes on netflix streaming. Right now on Netflix. They'll does seem like a pretty genuine type of person to me. I don't know much about her but from what I get. She doesn't seem like fake but that's her persona persona is genuine. Her Persona is real. I don't know how real that SONA is if you're coming off a certain waged just you kind of wonder how much of this is really manufactured case in point the Kim's video that got leaked and she said before that she goes. I I can't believe he just put my name in here and all that stuff then use zoom in you flash forward to Kim Ja leaking the video where he's literally talking to her and saying is it it. Okay if I put your name in this I love it. It's great. Oh thank you so much for calling in and asking and all that. She got a huge amount of backlash for that she. She doesn't really address the situation. Though in the documents in the documentary the documentary brings it up but she just kind of she talks about it a little bit but she doesn't really go in on insane. Yeah okay this is how I feel about the situation. This is why this happened so what I'm saying. She just kind of danced around a little bit and then moved onto the her. We're making the song me and all this all this other stuff. Just her going. Okay this is why I fell out. This is why I disappeared for year because it just seemed like nobody wanted me around so I just disappeared so it was interesting like like I said I. Don't you wonder how genuine is the genuine. In how real is the real. Yeah like I said unless. She's some amazing actress that we don't even know about. That's the piece that I felt just a little bit weird about it was kind of like all right. And how much of this real like.

"Got my new. What would it today? We have twelve artist performing six battles twelve. During our time in Russia, pretty much everyone we met express strong feelings about Vladimir Putin pro and con except for these rappers, which is kind of weird since they literally have a platform that got a microphone and they're all about speaking out. So what's up with that? Yes. Especially since this generation has embraced rat. It's become an ever-present soundtrack in the country. Here's one example of the state of Russian wrap. Today artist I discovered recently see middle. Chuck. The. Oxymoron is not the rule. But an exception from the rule. He yes, of course he is a great, but wherever, but he also is rep star in Russia. She has songs he has music, videos reach collect million views on YouTube, he has stadium Specht that's a music journalist who focuses exclusively on wrath Nikolai Redken. We'll come back to him in a moment, but I just wanted him to give us the basics on seem it on. Here's a track of this called city under the heel. Fry. Then what is on saying here? He's talking about what it's like to be a rapper in Russia on the road. Always on buses performing underground hoping for fourteen and he says that everyone now wants to be a rapper here. His two main points in the track. He's taking over city by city because for him rap is a calling not just a cool thing to do. I think I partly related to this drag because the group shares a lot with Eminem lose yourself. You know that track from movie eight mile came out in two thousand two. I think it's important to point out that even though Eminem hasn't really been big here in the states for a while. He still has a massive influence on Russian rap. We heard that from several of the young artists at the rap battle. And we got a really good explanation from Nikola read Kim rap journalists with the Russian online magazine, the flow, Nikolai pointed specifically to eight mile and the triumph of 'em in the movie over other expert wrappers in their battle is kind of sexy car for each Russian Butler in all this movie eight mile. It's kind of sad movie. Everyone watched it in his childhood, and everyone wants to rhyme once to write his own rep after What's the. the? To what are today's young Russian rappers writing about what's on their minds. Nikolai Redken had a pretty cynical. But revealing answer, unfortunately, the majority of modern Russian rep is copious, it's American origins. Copious the topics and even the slang worse that American repairs us. Yeah. We kind of did hear that in the oxymoron on track, even though his lyrics are smart and unique. So we asked some of the rappers at the Moscow rap battle what they're talking about in their lyrics. I'm urban abode something positive sides. We are in our life, I prefer to concentrate on some really uplifting things in our life to underline to make people be able more attentive to such things which make our life better not to own something said, not on something depressive. But something? Uplifting. And here is Ilia Musleh or MC. L F. Yeah. He did pretty well in the rap battle. Yeah. He won a several rounds. I think, yeah, that's right. No up my own studio Bush to really. In my music, I like to entertain like to make sure I cover my bases. I won't people to hear the music to hear my dishes to hear the lyrics, and, you know, not just a sound most importantly, I'm trying to use humor to, you know to really shout some this. So Russia, rap battles are typical of what you find anywhere on the planet. It's about braggadocio about the creative insult..

"Yes, it's the lewd our and it rolls on with your phone calls. Joe in Westchester up first on the fan. I joe. How you doing? What's up? Chris I, you know, I've been listening to everything. Trae broken. Maybe I'd missed it. Is it only salary that? Allowed the best to to take on 'em Hardaway in his contract. Was it was only salary matching because that's an awful contract for someone to take you know, any reasons behind it. Oh, hang up and listen salary. I mean, it was what was required to make the deal the Knicks required. The Knicks did find in this trade. I'm not I'm not at all pessimistic about this trade. I've never been somebody who thought porzingas was going to be awesome. I've never bought into the Knicks. I just wish they'd be a little more upfront. Porzingus? I think it's very clear that very research quite a bit. What they would do. And as soon as the meeting was over they said, he really doesn't wanna play here. We're getting rid of them. We'll be were getting rid of him. Anyway. Clearly, they were getting rid of him. Anyway. They wanted to start fresh. I don't blame them. I don't blame them. Depending on a player who's shown injury problems and his seven three. In that manner. Is a recipe for disaster. Personally. I don't think Kristaps Porzingis can be your best player. Regardless of who you are. And you're going to be taken seriously. And that was the situation that we're looking at here. So I hope it works out for him. I have no reason to dislike him at all. And I like his competitiveness, and I don't care that he talked or he skipped the meeting. I think when you're poorly run, that's. That's something that happens. You know, like, I wanna see for example. This is just an example off the side. I want to see if the jets can put a muzzle Jamal Adams. Because a good organization can. A good organization. Can Musleh Jamal Adams to the point where? He doesn't say anything inflammatory or about other players. Because that's not what we do here. And. Right now. Giessen and company. Have shown a little have showed a little lack of leadership in that department, in my opinion. Not that you can completely stop a player from voicing his interests in public media and social media, nor should you in my opinion. But there's a line and there are rules. And there are. You know, this is a young player. So young player. So it is a good. It's a big challenge in the NBA because the NBA is so star studded Nikki Rockville centre next up on the fan. I love you. Chris, man. Thank you. What's the realist guy there the realist mandate, and the real of you is what makes me sad sometimes you like to be happy. And then you get on the radio, and then the real niche me, and I said gosh his manager. Right everything. He's saying is right. I'm not happy anymore. Lottery ticket. You are you happy when you buy your lottery ticket you scooter. Stations in the lotto tickets. Does it for me? There you go. But other than that, you know, long story short you did on on everything. So I'm pretty quiet, but not for nothing. I think you know, the writing was on the wall KP real quick and just got like two points on that. I think they saw that. I mean, it was mentioned that. Nobody saw maybe I mean, we never got a progress report on this guy. So it's like kinda like maybe his rehab. Maybe they you know, he wasn't up to par. They weren't feeling. The fact that maybe he maybe was putting in, you know, showing up at the gym I with the right attitude, or as many times as you stood and they took note of that it felt like got as wannabe yet is I I'm with you on that. I feel that like it didn't happen in two minutes. And if the, and if it was already in the works, and it's got to do I think in my humble opinion with the fact that they went off of what they could. We never got a privacy port really on them. I stopped playing in the city, basically, which I think he's a Robin Batman, but you know, other people think otherwise, I think he's he's a great could be a superstar. But I think you'll always made that right hand, man. Well, he'll be the right answer. But I think that the lack of, you know, maybe up progress, I, you know, maybe not. Attitude is the right word, but the showing up at the gym, and and wanting to be then that I think they should notice real quick on the fact that he didn't wanna, you know, wanna be it doesn't take much to figure that out. And on the other thing you saying, you know, on the management, you're dead on. I mean as a Mets fan, and you know, you're you're you're one of the best on the sports. You don't wanna about you know, everybody doesn't pray for a new this new that they prefer. We'll talk to silver soon. Generally what we get? I gotta let you go get other callers. But I. I don't wanna kill your optimism. I wanted to be a little more tempered. That's all I just want. You to understand that the same management that brought you these people, you know, the same guy that hired John Zik hired, Mike maccagnan. Okay. The same guy. So. You gotta get a little nervous until he proves something. Did prove that you know. Yeah. He was a good hire. The one thing that hasn't happened in terms of the jets, for example, Mike maccagnan has not proved at all to be a good higher. Not in any way, shape or form has he proved to be a good higher. And now the day of reckoning is here, but it's taken this long. We're going into twenty nineteen these mistakes are so costly Steve mills is not good at his job. He's proven it over and over again. And there's lots of good players. Celtics are loaded with good players. They've been to the NBA finals. Under Brad Stevens. No. Twenty two and twenty five in the playoffs under Brad Stevens. You think you're going to be a better organization than the Celtics? You're gonna have better players better depth better management. Will you gotta show me that you got to prove that to me because I'm not taking your word for it. I don't have any evidence CJ. Mt. Holly. Hi CJ. All right now, looking at the straight couple things support that I think was dingus from that will remain healthy. Best of his career. What? E Pablo seventy three usually post. That's number one. That's a very very legitimate concern and one that they did not want to carry around with them. And I don't blame the Knicks for that. Well, I always worried about that. And the other thing that you, and this is my biggest fear. Let's get the big time created. And let's say doesn't come here. The second level guys like. Comes to work you have to wait till the next year repeat history. Clog up your franchise for big contract. I don't think that's going to happen. CJ in the twenty twenty classes worse than twenty nineteen in terms of free agency. We've all read about that. So they're going to have to get it. I mean, I think they're confident they're going to get a big player. But I hope they don't screw it up. I hope they don't find a way, and they obviously they need to right. We had Carmelo here with nobody else, and it was more or less a disaster. Save one year. So. You don't win with one player. Anthony Davis great example of playing pretty much in oblivion despite being Anthony Davis. There are a lot of guys around in that regard. So it's a real challenge for them. I assume that they have a pretty good handle on what they think they can get and what they want. And if they get them, I guess, my point is they still have to manage them names still have to put complementary players around them. And there were still going to be quality organizations going after them. They're not going to sit there on an island playing by themselves. Looking at much better. We are looking at much better. We are. No one's holding the parade form and Philadelphia Toronto or Milwaukee or Boston because there are a lot better than they used to be. They're still going to have to battle it out with the big boys. But at least we'll get meaningful games, at least, we'll go. Hey, mixed got a big game Saturday plane, the Celtics at the garden. Both teams are nineteen and twelve both teams are twenty three and eleven let's get there. I I get it. And we weren't going to get there with the group that that we had. So in terms of is this better, absolutely better. Absolutely better too. It's know it's a lot. I mean this market right now this New York market. Is operating a lot. Like, we do when we're unhappy with the quarterback put the backup in there. He's gotta be better. Give somebody else a chance. And that's how we're looking at our teams right now. It's like do something do something. It's gotta be better. Rick Brooklyn, next up. Yeah. The only thing that could have been better for the Knicks is if if the jets would have drafted Mahomes and watch it instead of turnover Sam, this is a great great day for the New York Knicks. They got rid of amount content guy who's going to miss two years out of his first four as mindless Cuban announced today that KP will not play this year. So that tells everybody that the doctors in the Knicks know something that the rest of the media doesn't know about this guy damaged goods, he's also told Dallas he's only gonna sign a one year qualifying contract. So Dallas could be left holding a very bad back. The other thing is the Knicks. Do not have to stop. Sign a big free agent in the summer. They can get to this is this acutest route that they can take they can make traits that just like with the Anthony the ebony Davis who they have that people want. Well, they have cap space. No, no, no, no, you go ahead. You you could make it you could conceivably Baker trade. And because now remember remember they got three first round picks now. So you could conceivably make a trade for a thirty million dollar player. Just flat out say, hey, we'll give you our cap space and a number one take for your thirty million dollars player. It doesn't have to be the obvious usual. Always this is a new NBA today as you well know, so here, here's the key thing though. Now, the Knicks have chips in the game. They got the most money of any team combined with the most. Graphics. What I mean is no other team in the league has as much cap space and as much first round picks. The Knicks have moved themselves to the front of the bind by getting rid of a lame duck. This is a great great day for the.
