"We're covering the things that we haven't gotten to really mean to get to man that feeling that you know that that feeling that it needs scratched of wanting to get around to stuff. You know my desk and I really thought for sure since I'm not traveling that I would. I would get it taken care of. And I started I was down like a couple of inches of paper bilge that builds up on my desk. I was down a couple inches. Yes, I'm going to see the surface of this desk before before. This virus releases us from its grip, and now it's super building back up again. Yeah Yeah. Yeah, it's frustrating. I! Do want to point out. Somebody has gotten something done. which is that Tony Anita? Hull took the initiative and went and ask our listeners before we recorded this show what they haven't gotten to or have been meaning to get to in their lives. And so with that in mind, I wanNA, bring Tony Anita Hill up to the Mike Tony on double duty this week. We have another thing for you later. What's on, but this one? You don't have to wear a pep blows for what's on the hot sheet. What our listeners saying? They haven't done to okay so Stephanie. Lundgren wrote I moved right before the stay at home order and I thought for sure I'd be completely unpacked and organized by now. I've been working from home, so it's not at all free time, but still. I See Oh Yeah. Oh that's the worst feeling as a person who struggles with OCD not being unpacked. I, have to tell you Stephanie. I think I was in one house for twelve years before I unpacked the last box. There's always a one box. That just has stuff that you probably never should have brought with you from the last place. Just. Couldn't you just couldn't think it and say goodbye, and so you still have it? And just sits around in a box for Twelve Years Until the cats pee in that box. That's usually that's usually what motivates we. We have a similar problem in this household and in some ways. It's worse because we bought this house. I'm going to say eight or nine years ago. and. We were living in an apartment before then and literally three weeks before we were supposed to leave the apartment and moved into. This house a pipe behind. Washing machine in our apartment burst, the whole place flooded dip fire department had to come and because of the water remediation. Process we weren't able to pack up our old apartment to move here. That had to be done by professionals. Wow! I didn't know there was such a thing. And some of those boxes were some. are still in our garage. Things wet, so you have boxes of wet belongings in your. Oh, you got to get those out you can. Boxes of wet belonging like a growth of mold. Bax Airs what you got. No, no, it's not the belongings. Themselves weren't wet. I want to point out that the flooding apartment wasn't like knee deep or anything, but it was A. Damaged the floor and stuff like that. No, that was a big flood I. Remember that I. Remember finding you and Jeannie. In the middle of the apartment in a tiny ship. And the Terni should talk to. Our tour! Wow So. There were professional packers. What does that have to do with the fact that you didn't open the boxes and take the stuff out I mean? Did it matter who put it in the box? Did you guys say to each other? It's not touched that professional packers put it in. No movers, the movers were allowed into put everything into boxes. My point is that because we didn't have time to pack up our own apartment all the crap that we were going to get rid of ended up being transferred to our new house. And you just haven't got around to. Condie, what was what was it? Marie CONDIE ING it. I didn't Murray Condo. It yet Maury Condo. What is it Tony is it? It's Murray Condo.

"Awards right also plays in which we lift up and support those innovators and the. The final one, which I really suck up is to be present in the old system and give it hospice so to help it die with dignity and in Congregational Life Right? You're seeing so many congregations that have to close before they've gone through the the real, beautiful and difficult process of when we put the assets. How do we on? The legacy of the people have given their lives to this community. How do we make sure that the facilities in our continued emission? Even if it's not within this community? Dhaka's labour-intensive unimportant, because if we don't do that, a sort of resentful poison seeps into the new field, and it becomes this this nasty sense of competition, and so I think those full rolls are so applicable to how we how we think about shifting our religious right now and you know if that resonates the US list now I I invite you to think about what's the role that I can play and really lean into it because we needle fool. Yeah you know in you know that we talked about the ten commandments for reimagining Judaism too high loved I honestly. That's I share. You'll stuff all the time. And that was one of them. So many people. The newsletter of where I shut them were like this is amazing are great well. Well We'd love to talk about more. And what I what I wanted to build on what you said, is it? I actually put the were calling the hospice piece I. Put that I meaning like I think that's the first five commandments, and the main reason is because I. think that. For all kinds of reasons, but including our own sense of guilt that if we don't feel like, we said goodbye to the old thing in a respectful way, then we actually can't fully bring ourselves to do the creative work. That's needed, so so you know at least those of us. Who came from that system? Maybe those who didn't come from within that system don't have that. That quite the same way, but but I think it's so important and I think it's so missed that part of the creative process is the grief for what has to be left behind, which is why I think Murray Condo is such a powerful system, because she says goodbye to the things that she's giving away and and again, thank you, thank you, thank you and in it. It and what an also that comes from religion, it comes from Shinto animism, and you could say sh- Shinto animism that ridiculous. I don't believe that at all, but nevertheless if you do it, it's so powerful and so i. don't need to believe that the object really has a soul in order to be able to feel that power, and so the question is. CAN WE LEAN? Lean into doing things that might have come from a system that we don't believe in and see if they still have some residual power, and if they do that doesn't mean we now have to adopt that whole system. It means that we need to find and described a new way to describe that power, and this is this I mean again here. We get to politics because. People often ask me. Hey, you have tech Sabbath practice. You'll know Jewish cultural appropriation much, and honestly I mean my two ounces for that on an initial festival you learn about the tradition and you have relationships with it and I I feel pretty good about both of those things with Judaism, specifically less low with others, but but the bigger picture is that like? Religions have never traveled through pneumatic tubes on their own right. They have always been in relationship with with one another contentiously deliberately great sadly, and that's true now more than ever in a globalised world where gender identities are recognized this fluid, cultural ethnic categories and an honest, the same is true with religion. You can't stop someone saying Oh, I grew up with Catholicism and Hinduism in the Hello I'm both you know that's just that's just people's lived experience, and so one of the big challenges for religious institutions is to stop trying to maintain boundaries that don't make sense because they immediately exclude people, but to find new boundaries to still sable. This is how you know that we're in US Which I still think is important in. It's just going to be a different boundary. Well I know that you have to go and so I. think that this. This is really a great place to end because I think that this is an another our conversation that we should have the the just want to say before we close I just want to note that that your book The power of ritual is I believe being published on June twenty third and the one thing that I have to say that I am so excited about and I think anybody who's listening to this podcast should be excited about is that there's an audio book and you're the reader. Had I read the you didn't read Murray Condo but I read Mary Condo's Bush and one of the things she said was that you should wear things that make you feel good. Even if they're for nobody right. She's like put on some really pretty lingerie put on something that makes you feel good. You put something on you get yourself together. It does make you feel good for women especially I think men to ride or looked at me and was like well. I'm on day four without a shower clergy shower and he came down and he put on. Hold me being closing bell. And he looks so great and he was like all you need all this like pink in his skin spa and he's like oh. I feel so much better you know. Oh Yeah I put on a different pair of sneakers to go walk around the neighborhood like yeah I put on. A little SB dunks. Maybe a little Kobe Protrero sixes. That should be something. That's good content for you and your stories you just. What shoes are you gonNA wear for your walk today? I know but I need more shoes because I'm just getting into it so I have like six days of content. I know well that's what's funny. You just repeat nobody but it's a it's a great point though. "Parents are preparing to remodel my childhood home. They want to add a room to the house. So that my mom's mom my paw-paw can stay with them. She's been in and out of the hospital and at ninety three. The family doesn't think she can live on her own anymore. The first and last time we remodeled our house was sixteen years ago. And I'm pretty sure that's the last time or house was D- cluttered at any in-depth way since then. My mom has made several attempts to clean the house. But it's never really worked now that my mom's busy taking care Paul. I thought I should fly home to help. Assess the situation okay. So this is the most this what we're looking at right now. Is the most thing that gives me the most headache when I come home. What are we looking at mom and are standing in the living room looking? Glass Window that spans. The back wall and overlooks an enclosed patio inside there are cardboard boxes plastic bins plants. An old fish tank and a bunch of other stuff large clear plastic sheets cover the boxes and another sheet for some reason is taped to the ceiling. How many would you say that? There's in patio. Oh some of the some empty boxes but how do you? Why did you because I don't have time to go? Charging the go on the cops can so they put it in here? Just get away from my side and it's also kind of an eyesore eyesore. I mean is is so I I would have WANNA clean up a couple of time. I tried to let them know is paper cannot just toss it. I had to look at by details a lot over the sweat a lot. Even when there's a task at hand like cleaning our house my mom always has to multitask. Since I'm only visiting California for short while I thought we would be able to spend the weekend decluttering instead. Mom had other plans money doing. I'm pure and the ginger could make some Sephora Papa and knife family. Whenever anyone sick we make soup. It's something that my papa always does. But since she sick herself it's my mom's job to make and deliver it to her. Which is why I guess. Mini cleaned up pasta sauce jars. That mom's saved over the years are finally coming in handy. Mom is the Middle Child. She's the third five she and three of her siblings emigrated from China to Hong Kong to Sacramento California with Paul when my mom was just eleven when I was growing up. That's all I really knew like a lot of other children of immigrants. I knew a lot about my mom's immigration story while also knowing nothing everything she told us was very matter of fact. Papa sacrificed a lot and worked in sweatshops. So you and your brother have to study hard. Mommy had to take care of her younger siblings. So you and your brother are lucky. You don't have those responsibilities. Are FAMILY HAD LITTLE MONEY. So we had to save everything. And even after my mom escaped the Clutch SA- poverty moved out of Papa's house and started a family of her own. She held tight to this rule. Anything that came into our house rarely left so we did toss something out. I mean not top. We put in a box and then we put it in the uncle Terry and he says garage okay so so you didn't technically throw away anything we when you were modeled. We was in a hurry so he everything that box. We originally remodeled the house. When I was ten I guess I was so young that I never realized what my mom's main cleaning technique was putting things in boxes and shoving them into my aunt and uncle's garaged. Okay what happened to the VOX? After year we moved to think that in so some of the box be opened up. Nba Use it and some of the box. Do in the in the patio thing. Yeah so can you. The patio is filled with boxes from our first remodel. But also things for my dad's parents my union and yeah from when they passed away many years ago aside from the patio. Our House as a whole is just so full of things even before we planned this newer model to add a room for Papa. My Dad and I had been trying desperately to help my mom. Clean her closet. We thought we could start small before tackling the whole house after Marie condos the life. Changing magic of tidying up was released and translated into English in two thousand fourteen. My Dad bought a copy for mom a Christmas present. Murray condos hopeful osophy is that if an object to spark join you. You should get rid of it. I thought that there was no way that all the things in my parents house could possibly spark that much joy. I was hopeful that reading this book with somehow enable both of my parents to turn into something worthy of hgtv show but simply put it. Hasn't okay well. So so dad bought you this book. The Mary Condo Book for Christmas copiers. We use did you. Did you read it? Sure did I did. Did you learn anything from it? You Go Clo- make it nicely and I love this. I kept it and I found out. I love a lot of close i. That's why we did make it like that but the problem is one. I had too many close to the way they set out after two. We have our mess up again. That the purpose of that is you have to keep it up every day. And I don't have time to do that. I don't but I don't have done it before. That's when they don't have like five pair of jeans ten pair you know or they have won. T shirt I had twenty one t shirt male one of my friends too gene. Naturally he could do it I have. I do have to go over my plant pans now. I have pobably thirty pair or more clearly. The MARIKANA book didn't drastically changed my mom's cleaning habits and because I live on the other side of the country for my parents. I can't be there to help clean every step of the way so I thought that having my mom watch Marie condos new Netflix. Show tidying up with. Murray condo would provide her with some tips aerial Bernstein a professor and journalist whose parents fled to Cuba then to the US refugees from Eastern Europe also thought that when she told her mother about the show You know we watched episode or two of the show together and then we went to try to do some of the Actual tightening and it's just really hard for her You know it's just very difficult to to think about getting rid of things You know my mom is living in the US now for for fifty years so it's not necessarily that she's not used to American culture. But I think that I think that just about legacy of having to to give things up almost sixteen when she came to the US. And I think that's for her. They're still idea that giving up something that's very integral unimportant. Throughout my mom childhood anything that could possibly get a second or third or tenth use did but I never really contended with the idea that this history this life of immigration impacted my own childhood as a kid I really resented how're cabinets overflowed with tupperware or how. We had an entire room in our house dedicated to storing stuff that I thought was junk photo albums. My Dad's records and broken record player kitchen gadgets. I was always embarrassed that we couldn't just get rid of things like other families. Why you think it's so hard for you with stuff like everything I buy like it. So that's why why would I taught away the thing that I you know. I like okay. Let's talk about some of the things that you allowed things. You have a lot of your tupperware though. Oh my mom has an obsession with tupperware. It's mildly unhealthy. When I was in elementary school she's to sell Tupperware to friends and coworkers but mostly to herself so she could get rewards points and get even more tupperware. Oh I love tougher billy. I do why because I don't know because I am over my end. Shoo Shoo Shoo introduced me to upper. Because you make a lot of cookie Dune a holiday and she put it inside a separate and she just eat it you know and give it to friend and so I think from there on I found out you know. That's good to use tupperware. This is the first time my mom has mentioned the story to me. Despite knowing tidbits about mom's immigration she never talked about her early life in California and any emotional sense. But it's something I've always wondered about. Why do you think that we have so much stuff? Because it'll be good furniture and those they last a long time and then Miko Shah Gobi. -CATION BE BY A souvenir and which I haven't done lately. Yeah Yeah but but all those good we cannot just toss it and you not quite sure what my mom means by good. "Kids also take notes on their laptop now but if you're already learning through your laptop than maybe try and make the switch to handwritten note taking for now. At least it's better for retaining information anyways in. I personally prefer handwriting my notes but it doesn't work for everyone. I get it because typing is a lot faster and it's easier to keep up with the professor and what they're saying by typing because it goes quicker but if you're already not there in person with them then maybe just try out the handwriting to make it feel more real or whatever just you know. You're already doing something different so I think that this would be a good time to maybe try switching up your note taking because who knows you might like it a lot better and if you don't then just go back to typing on your laptop but I would suggests just giving it a try and for people who are just plain on board. Maybe have some downtime or a lot of downtime. You're just tired of watching Netflix. All the time or sitting and staring at the wall. Download some gains on your phone but educational ones like word games perhaps words with friends the scrabble APP or words gapes. I love those ones. They're like my favorite games. Or if you're hungry name you can play around with some recipes. There are actually websites out there that you can plug in what you already have in Your House. "They want her stuff right now. We're kind of off season. Sorry i'm going on and on. You're going to stop. No this is great. Okay okay so anyhow <hes> and so if you know you have ideas and you know where your things are going to go that helps because then as in the third thing we do each other coats which have already mentioned to you <hes> because if you know where things can go if it's kind of a sentimental item and you have those memories and you can take a picture of it or whatever it is. You're gonna do but you know it's. I'm not gonna <hes>. It's not something you honestly need. You really use truly love. 'em you need to rehome it. You already know in your mind where you're going to rehome that too. It makes so much easier than because you know it's going to go here. I can put it over here. They're gonna come whatever day to pick it up. I'm gonna sell it or it's going in the trash and you can keep moving so then we do you start and i i take us through. I believe murray condo and a couple. Other people also speak owes. I do have you blink began with othing on the things that really fit you feel good to the touch you know that have your name your style everything written all over it on that issue now and <hes> you know so so you start with clothing and one of the reasons you wanna start with something like that now for some people clothing is a heart string but not everything is so you start going through your clothing but what you're actually also joining one. You're making progress in. You're gonna empty out your closet and only eat the things that you honestly need really using truly love in it any one of those combinations la times clothing almost all three but you know <hes> also are building your decluttering muscles because as you start making these decisions citizens don't want to start with some heart string and there might be something in your closet. That is a heart string you know maybe it was your high school cheerleader uniform or your dad's business suit and all the sudden you hold onto that and can paralyze out. It's like oh this belong to my dad knew start focusing on that and you get off course of articles othing like that is has or heart string or you just can't make a decision immediately just put it aside and keep going with the other things by the end of that aisle of mount multiple massive als <hes> and then at the very end you can take look at it and if it's still a heart string you there's a heart string day towards the very end of the process that i have you do will you deal with it then because if you did not i was a photographer and had my children and they were paparazzi by me and before i knew every every photo oh my gosh i just thousands and that's even before the digital ones so anytime i would come through papers or office work or just junk drawer and a photo would come. I am honored glanced at it by doing don't make a decision broad but in my photo box because that had to come at the very end of the time so i don't know if that really helps everybody i sure hope it does because it helped me and its helped several other people anyhow so that's what <hes> that's what we do and so an answer to your question. Yes we go through clothing. The bathrooms linens you know some of the easier things and eventually we do get to knickknacks and sentimental items and heartstrings whatever heartstrings are and each person needs to do their own items if you're in a a house with with somebody else elsehwere dwelling unit you. You still do all of your things they can do. There's not everybody is is on board but you just do your items. <hes> a lot of times people will get on on-board after they see how easy life is for you in your stuff in there and then there's items to that you both may be bought a you know your furniture together so those are not going to be able to just make a decision that that'll be a joint decision that you'll need make you might have to back off of it but that's joint item so oh you wanna get your all. Your personal items in.

Well, this the the classmates, I guess the importance of how many views and things and likes is up most. That's what I'm saying. That's the number one of the like two hundred thousand bears I felt like a person again. That's not what somebody please intervene. Somebody stop this. We're only gaining speed. As we go downhill. So true. It's exponentially getting worse day after day after day Harlow said she was dubious dubious when she learned that Livia Jade and her older sister Isabella rose got into USC because Harlow was like, wow, that's kind of crazy because US's very extremely hard to get into. So not only one sister. But better then. Did she like use the word dubious? She probably did. She went to an unidentified super elite expensive private school with both of the sisters. She knows them from high school. And she says she doesn't she no longer attends the school. She recalled how insane the academic expectations were the work is literally harder than college. It's insane. When these students go through to go to these stools because their parents schools because their parents think that they need to because they want him to go to Yale and Harvard on USA, and then she said she was baffled by how it is. A Livia Jade was able to juggle her gig as a social media influencers on top of all the schoolwork at USC. So this girl Harlow Brooks goes on her YouTube channel and says I'm dubious like like like, blah, blah, blah, views person all of that mega thank. And then apparently there's this whole like rich mean girls response was kind of talking about if you could get through the lakes and the word soup about people threatening to sue her based on her outing these girls in the video she says that she was followed home in a car of. She was followed home. Girls in a car behind her all wearing black sunglasses. Oh, that's it. This is good. The mean, girl. Mafia USC has tried to shut her up. My gosh. Maybe we follow up. About ancient Florence late fourteen. Hundreds also. Cerebral and fancy thought you're gonna like he shore friends from college is pretty good too. It's kind of a raunchy it's kind of like. Yeah. Boy, it's like friends, remember friends only just a little more risque. Friends from college is pretty good. What what are you watch? I was on the couch. We're watching the fact that the the marvelous MRs Mazel, of course, I've had a lot of listeners call in and say should be watching the store. So we're watching that. And yesterday, I was on my own. So I started watching Marie condo. She is the art of tidying up author a little Japanese wiz at how to fold your shirts in a perfect little rectangle and stack them neatly even in a tiny shoebox in order to tidy up your home. I e tidy up your life, and she is just a Ray of sunshine. She's very small in stature person, but she comes into these homes, and she is just a illuminates them. She's fantastic. So she works with an interpreter. Because her English isn't great. But she understands more then she speaks, and it is it always ends up. Not being about the clutter. It's always the she ends up solving a problem in the marriage. Once the clutter is cleaned away. They the husband and wife get closer, or you know, the kids. Feel more empowered in the mom feels like she's doing a better job. Or the dad? Feels more connected to the family, whatever it is. There's always a psychological aspect, so wait a sec up. So the clutter is a symptom of something else. Well, I think once they clear away the clutter it helps uncover some other issues, and when they work through it together. Everybody ends up happier at the end. I don't know the methodology behind it, Paul. It's just magic. When you watch. The I I'm always concerned that I'm going to show up on that hoarder. Show hoarders. You might I've seen your bunker. I've seen your storage unit. It's pretty bad. And we got rid of we got rid of our. Yeah, we had one point. We had a big storage facility. We got rid of that. But I don't know. I I understand people that have lived through the depression, and there aren't too many of those still around. But I could understand why they would be remiss to throw stuff out if there's something that you could use again, why would you get rid of it? And yet when you do go in and edit you force yourself to throw stuff out. It is liberating. It's hard at first. And then the more you do it then it's like, oh my God. Yeah. This is this is better much better. It's funny. I was just where was I recently? Oh, I see I like to shop at consignment shops. I don't like paying retail. So I shop a consignment shops. And I like the recycling aspect of it. And I was in one the other day, and she said, you know, we're seeing an influx of new products that people are bringing in because the craze of Murray condo is kind of infecting everybody. And people are. Looking around their closets and doing the tidying-up thing. And of course, it begins with the big purge. So local businesses are seeing a boon. Well consignment, at least it is a recycling are seeing a boon because people are on the craze. It always makes me feel better when I clean out my closet as well. But an article was written and CNN offer CNN row or no excuse me as an author for wired was that article from. Yes. Talked about doing sort of this digital cleanse as well. Gee, Marie condo. Ing his computer and Paul, and I talked about this little earlier in the show and many of you were texting and I have to go back and find your tax on how you do it online. Because Murray's version is you have to touch an item. And if it doesn't spark joy in you. You have to let it go. You have to say thank you very much and got to let it go and his methodology was the same open a folder on your desktop. And if it doesn't spark joy it goes into the recycling bin. Sure. I can't think of anything all my laptop that sparks joy, which means what I should just hurl my laptop into the lake, and that's actually a really going to the wrong. No, except for the photos family photos that would be pretty much. The only thing that sparks joy emails, even emails from you Jordana. Not necessarily spark joy. I don't know. If I want to save your old Email, that's kind of creepy. Isn't it just think of rainbows and unicorns? When you see an Email? Well, shocking. Well, she says, listen, okay. That's that she agrees, maybe PDF's Jonathan spark joy. But she says then put make an important documents folder. You can make a joy, folder and important documents folder. And if they're not sparking joy, but let's say it's your tax return, and you need to keep it. It has to go into the important documents folder. The goal is to clean up the desktop and make it at least a little less cluttered. So when you open your computer, you don't feel the weight of the world and the weight of all of that clutter on you. When you go sit down for work. You must do things like this Paul everybody likes to sit down to a nice clean desktop or dashboards. So to speak. I have a lot of folders. And I try to organize stuff in my folders, and I've got five different Email accounts, which which is a cry for help, but I've got different businesses. And I still have a stupid old EarthLink account like back when the internet was born right up there with AOL. You still have your a oh, well judging now you've reached a new low. That's a low blow it and by the way. We'd actually listen. Remember that sound when when you dialed in. AOL? I still have AOL. You're right. And I love my AOL account, and that is my personal account. Do not has served me. Well, all of these years, and it currently has a nine inbox only as an inbox of nine because I'm doing my best to keep it declared. I'm Marie condo in my digital life. Judge my people. I'm just laughing. I'm not judging laughing I remember laughing with you because I have an earth link accounts laughing at us, and you're my that's my space account on your computer. I would when I first started working here in the newsroom, and I opened up my account, and it said like doodoo you've got now. And Adam and Laura they looked at me. They're like, are you kidding you as I'm like, oh, I'm not going to turn down the sound now. Reminds me a CB radio, you know, back in the late seventies. But one thing I do Jordan. And I would encourage you and all our listeners to do. This is having external drive backup, your laptop. I hear more horror stories people once I was flying, and I spilled grapefruit juice on my laptop in the air, and it fried the entire thing. Everything on the laptop was toast. And at the time. I don't think I had many photos on it. But I would have been distraught. So in addition to using the cloud, I think I use I cloud and I use Google Google has a free service at lower resolution, you can back up every single photo on your on your computer, but also have an external and get into the habit once a month, maybe once a quarter to manually backup, especially your photos. Because I mean, what's the stuff you'd be sick about losing? Do I care about an Email not so much? But if I lose family photos the kids when they were small. Yeah. That that would bother me some of the texture say guys if I did that to my work, computer. I'd be fired. Okay. So maybe not your work, computer. Hey, guys. My wife has more icons on her computer than space. She wonders why it slow. I know you can put those in folders tell her they don't disappear. You don't have to have them on your desk. Hey, guys, I had one hundred and eighty seven thousand emails that would give me anxiety. I know you're laughing about it. But that would that would give because my kids don't delete their emails either. And they just don't read them or whatever. When they have to then they'll start going through. All right. And and I like to keep them pretty cleaned up actually working on something that has them in a place or they're kind of bugging me. But dropbox or extra hard drives that you have laying around or my inbox folders like all of those things makes me think often about decluttering all of that. And like what does Murray condo say about digital clutter? Like, let's ask her that question one day. I know exactly. All right. What is your word of the month? So my word of the month is light. Talk about some light words there. Opposite of heavy helmet on Moore. So first and foremost whenever I'm going into new year. And I've chosen a new word of the year. I always liked for my first month or two or three to really be a reflection of that word of the year. That's how I like to really dive into my word of the year is to find some good supporting ones, and after those first couple of months, it may be things that are totally off base. Like me doing whatever it has need to do. But I always feel like for me to really dive into that word of the year. I have to set some monthly intentions at the beginning. And then usually at the end is well like I book in the year with like some very focused on my word of the year intentions for the month. And light was one that I really wanted to focus on beginning my year of flow, and this came up for me a lot when Fini about my the year. I just left behind and just how heavy it felt.
