Religion & Divorce With Author Amy Pettyjohn
"So one of the common questions that i receive. I think i get a message or to every single week from particularly a woman who says that she is in this really unhealthy relationship but it goes against everything that she was raised to believe about marriage. In that a lot of times i even here like there's family members who were in ministry and have just you know said that bill shun her if she gets a divorce. So let's just i kick it off and if you can share like your own religious background and what role it played in the decision that you made sure and i relate so much to those kind of messages because that was me. I was raised to believe that the worst is never an auction. Never an option and that god heat sports and so when i got into a marriage full of just sexual immorality and lies in i just felt stocker felt like there was still no way out because versus never option and so i stayed for a really long time and i just stuck there and so it took me a long time to get to a point of understanding. God's love means for me and grace and mercy and what the bible really says about marriage and divorce and that there is a way out of fat and so it took me while to get here. But once i got here and i really aged discovered. God's grace infirmity loves me doesn't want me to be a maximum of situation able to have that freedom. Did you have any external pressures trying to talk you out of getting a divorce. Oh absolutely yes you know. It's funny when you're in a church situation. You can be an addict alcohol. But you can't have problems in your marriage and interpret and that happens so often so there's really nowhere to go so you kind of keep a lot of things secret anytime keep you know what's happening in your marriage to yourself but also when i did start talking about divorce absolutely there was some pressure and i know my parents show kathy talking about this by parents. Were big part of that pressure. Being wanted me to stay. When the day i filed for divorce got a phone call from them and it will and it's just as hard. My parents and i went through a lot of bruce together in my

Covers arts and culture for the seattle times. Brendan welcome back. Hi thanks so much for having great to have you okay. Your first pick is for a campy lounge show we like camps and we like lounge so tell us more about this right so it's called. Mrs pacman breakout. It's at the west hall of the century ballroom on capitol hill and it runs Thursday through sunday and The character is based on the iconic eighties video game character. Miss pacman by this fantastic comedy actor. Scott shoemaker who anthropomorphized her But made her sort of a bitter and angry trainwreck. Oh that's hilarious brennan. I used to ride miss pacman for like forty five minutes on a single quarter. I'm giving myself away there. But i want i which she can't be a train wreck. She's miss pacman. Well i'm impressed by your video. Game skills But yeah the ideas that she peaks in the eighties and has been cratering ever since and now. She's trying to resuscitate her career as a lounge act. But she's a mess you know she sings. She dances sometimes begrudgingly. But what she really wants to do. Is tell us confessional stories about her divorce in her pill problems her affairs her wreckage and there is a dose of schadenfreude in there which makes it feel like a bit of a guilty pleasure but his entertaining is that is. There's something else going on here. Who was all about cruelty and making fun of her. The show wouldn't work You know there's something relatable about her and her frustration with the world. I think if you ever feel like your life has been one long blooper reel or people aren't taking you seriously as you like. You have a friend in miss pacman.

The Divorced Entrepreneur With Candy Valentino
"Did you start. Where were you when it looked like you were facing a divorce. So gosh well. I think to give a little bit of back story. I met a man that was thirteen years. My senior and being Very independent and successful. I thought it was very difficult to find someone that aligned with the same things that i was into and certainly no one my age because i started so young. I really didn't have anything in common with most men my age so it was a natural progression that i kinda found Somebody older that had also had achievements in success right so that was kind of the beginning part of it and as far as like what what i was thinking about when faced with the divorce. I think it was more of less. There was so many things right. I think that when when that comes before us we feel loss. We feel grief. We feel embarrassment. We feel guilt. We feel so many different things being super positive being over calmer. I am not want to give up easily. Which is a great attribute in. It's also can be your detriment. I did not want to give up. I wanted to make things work obviously. You talk about my nonprofit. I'm a rescuer by nature. So i was trying to rescue a situation rescue person so i think in the beginning if i just had to summarize the feelings that i was experiencing when facing divorce those would probably be some of them. All all of the The loss feelings that we go through when we start to realize that this isn't what we thought it was going to be.

Moms Moving on With Michelle Dempsey
"How did you get from where you were going through divorce to this space there end that is positive and filled with light inspiring and really not holding onto any anger resentment. Because that's a big leap. Yeah i think you know my anger and resentment because we all have it after divorce and it's silly to say like don't hang onto it like you have to go through that process big time before you can fully feel like you're ready to release the anger but i think i felt all those feelings in my marriage to the point. Where like it got. I had to work through them in the marriage. Heal them and then feel strong enough to leave. And i think that's what i'm finding with so many women that i work with one on one in my coaching program. Is we do this work ahead of time. It's almost like this biological motherly way of existing. Like i'm gonna do what i can now to make myself okay. So that i know the future is going to be bright and that was something that was important to me. I knew early on in my marriage. That probably wasn't the right one for me and my daughter's father and i tried everything to make it work and it just wasn't going to happen and a lot of that was because i went into the marriage deeply on hailed from my childhood and stuff i had been through and it all sort of like came out like in a horrible way and i was the worst version myself in this in that marriage and it reflected on my husband and then he my ex husband and then he was the worst version of himself. So i knew. I had to fix all of that if i ever wanted to move on a productive way. So he did. I started going to therapy before things even ended. I had to wrap my head around the fact you know that it probably was going to end. And i spent a year crying myself to sleep but i like had all of those tears come out before the marriage ended that by the time it did end. It was almost like okay. We got through that now. Let's look

The Upside to Divorce With Nina Blaicher
"Know what happened for me was really taking out a hard honest lug ads where my life was and where i wanted to be in how i kind of contributed to where i was you know. It's very easy divorce. I think to say oh it was their fault. It was you know they cheated or they did this or that or whatever the case says but really ultimately there are so many things that lead up to you know a marriage ending so i had to really look at. How did my life get here. What were the things that i could control and change and then more importantly where did i want to go from here. Who did i want to be in my life. What were my core values. How did i want to be in a relationship. How did i want to be apparent. How did i want to just approach life. How did i want to feel on a daily basis than for me. Getting divorced was a real personal awakening kind of totally separate from the actual divorce ending of the relationship side. It was like a a cracking open of who i was and what just a lot of old stories. A lot of Rewriting stories a lot of you. Know careful consideration of just everything inside of me and who i wanted to be in how i wanted to contribute to the world my life. So you know that's kind of a general overview of what the story was but it was it was a big change and although it was super painful and super difficult and i wouldn't wish it on anybody i would not change a thing. I mean i'm totally transformed from that time. And i've done so much work and reflecting on where i wanna go from here that you know and it's it's usually only through those really really hard painful moments that we can find that portal to that real transformation that we want.
interview with Comics Creator Tyler Martin
"Give you a little food for thought here to kinda start us off. Bush your definition of evil. You know like a little devil like sitting on your shoulder like who will. What if i tried this. What if i did this are how about this quote. This is my favorite from the comic series. We're going to talk about today. The road to hail is paved with good intentions It got me thinking. I'm talking about the antagonists comic book series. I'm here with comic book. Creator writer tyler martin. He's also a publisher editor antiquated creative director. How you doing tyler. I am doing amazing ryan. Thank you so much for having me here. I'm so excited about today. Yeah i. I've been so excited talk to you about this. This is so cool before we dive into the tag and his family and these characters who are so cool. I got to start from the beginning. Because i know you're a self-proclaimed blurred a lover comic so we gotta start there and so my question is is there a character or just what about comics in general kind of captured. Your attention early on so. I was Raised by a single mom and just remember As early as five or six Mom and dad was calling. It was just tons of arguments tons of chaos. Sometimes and i remember that comic books and cartoon just that star wars and just that whole Nerd geek thing. At the time was my escape. It was a way to another reality and fell in love with it from then on. Yes you can tell like. I always love talking to the craters. The writers of these serious because you could tell us like that it kind of gives you that release a little bit that we're all like ooh. I wish i can just make that character. That's you know kind of taking me away from life a little bit and kinda right through. That character is pretty cool. Yeah i think you're absolutely right. I think all of us I always say that creative writing saves lives. I think all of us need some kind of outlet The world is too dark. Especially right now. Dr. too stressful if you don't have some type of outlived so hard out here for you so for me writing in comic books that was my way to say you know what forget what's going on. I got my own world to figure out
Q2-2021 Biotech Earnings, Commercial-Stage Biotech Suffers
"And the first company. I want to talk about is by jin which is a real favorite of mine ticker symbol b. I believe and they're sitting at a fifty billion dollar market cap and what we heard is that they announced q to revenue of two point. Seven eight billion dollars and this is compared to twenty twenty cutie revenue of three point six eight billion so huge decline there and that is mostly due to a decrease in their ms revenue of twenty four percent year over year. And if you remember. When i went through the biogen episode i did. The majority of their revenue comes from their ms franchise and since the lawsuit against by jin was in favor of the generic companies including mylan they have launched generic versions of tech der which are now at risk because by genus filed an appeal. And what this means is that these generic companies are going to be able to sell their generic version of tech era at the risk of biogen winning on appeal in which case Going to be able to litigate against them for patent infringement. So during this time at which we don't know what the status of the appeal is gonna be biden's gonna start losing. Ms franchise market share pretty quickly to these generic companies. So we're starting to see this now with these abysmal. M s numbers now. The company did increase their guidance for the rest of the fiscal year. Only by about two hundred to three hundred million dollars so not a huge amount but they said that. This is due to better-than-expected ms sales. So who knows what's going on there but really the bulk of the call was the excitement around the addy home commercialization efforts and now just to say the amount of home revenue was only like one or two million dollars so very much a drop in the pan not very impressive so far. But it's because all of these infrastructure efforts need to take place in order to get hospitals up and running in order to treat patients
Melanie Hersch on Getting Back in the Game Post Divorce
"Divorce. Everyone comes out a little bit bruised a little bit. Broken a little bit batter. Their egos are hurt. Their self esteem is not added best so but they wanna start dating again. So where where do they began to they. Just say well. Let's just kind of fake it to make it in throw themselves into the dating world or should they be doing some inner work. I yeah so. I would say no to the faking it and making it because we can't fake you know where we are emotionally within ourselves. You know we can. We can try to put on a good front but it's gonna come back and bite us in the aso. It's so important when you when you're post divorce and you want to get out there again. Doing the inner work is so important. Make sure that you're you've cleared out old wounds if you've got old resentments or hurts our insecurities and fears if you show up to dating with all that stuff here not gonna have the success that you would have if you do the work. So it's it's a beautiful time to kinda dig in and look at what's going on under the hood. You know what what's happening and it's so important if you want a healthy relationship and you don't want to repeat the same patterns that you had in your last one okay but to that point someone says listen. My axe was a real something or other and he was horrible in. He did all of these awful things and he didn't validate may and it was all ham and none of it was me. So what do you say to that. You chose him like yeah. He acted that way. But you were accepting it for that many years you saw red flags and ignored them and it's looking at so important to look at. What had you pick that person and stay in that relationship when it was no longer serving you and when it no longer felt healthy and so you know if you've stayed in a relationship beyond when it felt good there some stuff to explore there as to why and it's important to work that out before you get into your next

When Should You Use Resistance Bands?
"Question is from ms denise morales. When should you use the resistance ban during weight training or will it benefit more to use it when you're priming your body both Resistance bands are extremely versatile. Valuable ways of changing workouts adding variable resistance. Priming your body. You know what's funny about resistant spans is they were not really considered You know like a serious exercise tool for a time and then you saw strength. Athletes really start to use them. I can't remember which. Powerlifting group did any as westside barbell really. I know the soviets used studies. That's where they got it from got it from and then you got strength. Athletes started using them and they started crushing and competitions and know initially bands were considered kind of wimpy. But it's hard to do that when you guys girl squatting and lifting as much as they did nixing people started using them. I started using them myself. as variable resistance watson dead lifts loved them and then use them for trigger sessions. Absolutely love them and now a week doesn't go that. I don't use resistance band so i think they're extremely valuable and one of the reasons why they're so valuable. Is there resistance. Gets harder as you stretch them out which is very different than what you experience with weights. Think you need a variable resistance for the the listeners. understand. So if i have if i have a band. I'm doing a overhead. Press with. I may start here at forty pounds but as stretch it out. It gets much harder now. The cool thing about this is as my arm extends. I tend to get stronger as well. So the resistance matches how my strength tends to express itself. So it's like. I get more resistance right when i get stronger. Which is kinda cool. And it's the opposite of what happens when you have a bar bell or dumbo. Yeah as you get barbells dumbbells you get closer to the end of the movement. It's much easier than what it is at. The weight stays the same right or with the freeway because it's working against gravity. If i'm doing a preacher curl it's heavy down here. But when i'm up here it's not heavy at all because i'm just supported by l. belt whereas with the resistance band it's always challenging. Do i think they can replace weights. Is this the best card for you. Well you know maybe like if you really love flying delta for instance if you really brand loyal this might be a card that might make sense for you but you know you might do better signing up for another card with either more flexible rewards or or maybe that richer sign up bonus like joel mentioned just because that card is shoved in front of your face doesn't mean that it's the best one for you in the same way. Why Your Skin Is Freaking Out Right Now
"I'm not the only one and signed that. We've all described as lockdown skin. So i've asked arundhati mama mia senior beatty rutta and fellow ubt co host to sit down with me and explain w t.f is going on without pesky skin. Hello and welcome ms erin. Hello how are you. Thank you so much for joining me today to talk about how ugly. I'm getting staffer now. Am i getting uglier. What the hell is going on with my face right now. Please listen kelly. I feel you so hard right now. My skin is an absolute been files like. It looks like a man. I keep being like. I'm giving you all this attention now. Why are you so mad. Why do you hate me. Why are you mad at me. That's like i just don't want midday mosques and ten thousand products on my face right now. So you're not going crazy. Locked and skin is very much a real thing. So i've been speaking to a lot of experts speaking yesterday about this because everyone's talking about it and there's a whole number of different reasons. Why asking is freaking out during lockdown right now so if your skin is a mess right now you're definitely not alone. Okay good explain to me what they said. Because it's not even one particular thing. When i look at it it just looks. Yuck hollywood you describe it really. So what did they say. What are the experts saying so firstly. There's like this whole big increase level of stress going on right now. So that obviously plays a lot of havoc with all aspects of asking especially acne. And those kind of like inflammatory conditions. Like eczema and psoriasis. Secondly also all now spending more time indoors and we've all got the haiti going. We've got air con and that obviously causes dryness of the skin mixed with the fact that it's also winter so dryness can lead to increased breakouts eczema and even that kind of periodical matatus which is just around the mouth. So next is the fact that we're online using zoom and i don't know about you but i constantly tend to just touch my face like the whole time so when i see myself on camera i'm always kind of just like picking and touching my skin which obviously makes breakouts and all these kind of skin problems a whole lot worth.

It's dumb that he basically gets flash on the basic ability. He does need mobility as a male. Edps character but when fighting mobility also allows you to hop walls every five seconds. It's kinda dumb telling also exists. But he doesn't have tremors ultimate turner is ultimate is a tricky one. I think it's fine the way it is personally but you could also remove the fury gain on cast so either effectively lowers the duration because Acute into our without losing damage or reduces potential damage during his ultimate. I think maybe adding a cast-iron his ultimate forced into old earlier but it would be dogs to play with As the tournament it doesn't currently have one even though other trends swear it does. I'm usually not a fan of champion real work. But i wanted to give input before you guys reviewed him. Because i've been thinking about it for a long time. I don't think he needs a spin nerves. I don't think he needs our nurse at all. I he's a very exploitable kirker may actually because he's the season one character. Yeah he's a little frustrating when he gets ahead. But i feel like there's a character like mastery is a more talk of trinity mirror. I think exactly i. We're not gonna go like super in depth because we'll do that on the yeah on the patriot. Show yeah But i think the only true aspects of his kit. That i don't like i i even kind of okay with the creek chance just because its entire identity is like. I'm going to play the roulette. I would want to change his w into being something other than minus bef sword for a couple of seconds sometimes a slow yeah And then. I don't think you should get e cooldown reduction. I don't think he should have flat. E cooldown reduction on. I think that makes them far to mobile in sticky to to to deal with which is good for the trinity mirror and bad for literally everyone else. You refers to things like that like it's all about when Donald Lovers Dad passed like when my mom passed him I went to prison like you go in his experiences and after you go through a couple of them are so you start learning like this could be worse than life isn't that bad an everyday breathing is a blessing what I mean. So I don't really have that mentality of. You know what? Different? How crazy every this is America. My ancestors put with a lot worse fam- like I think and that's absolute auto to remember when Ronald Reagan you know different presidents have been here like trump is just a blip to meet you know it's not that big a deal. That's how revolution start. You know you don't start by changing the masses. You change people one on one. Like don't ever have that defeatist mentality man I don't. I just do not understand it and I'm not talking to you may is talking to everyone. You know, I just don't understand defeatist mentality. You know ever in any circumstance. I just I just wanted to how they may have gotten there. Yes. But like you need to either do more breeding of History Goto therapy, do something because it's like this is not the worst. Emptying out the trash shooting meteors or you know real simple shit But then there's somebody one or more people who are an impostor and they actually go around trying to covertly kill people but maintain their innocence and so like this whole thing about like how can you? How can you kill people getting caught? You know when when people do find dead bodies and then everyone's deliberating who the killer, how do you get out of it like that. So and and it's hilarious because someone is like presume to be killed, you get you get to vote on them they get kicked out of an airlock and they float. Well we take our stuff off and and and he's riding but like you were saying a moment ago. Madison we on our way. So my question for you. Quality is when they first approached you about doing reality. Tv apprehensive what was there any anxiety or anything like that? I don't get much anxiety. Do very well under under pressure in in Do very well with stress to be honest with you. At the time I was married and We were very young in marriage and so that was something that was heavily considered Because wanted to make sure that we're making the right decision as a couple And you know and I and I think overall we did you know I think that in life and relationships period where it's you know you're married or business relationship or friendship Sometimes things can go wrong in. Both parties are not in the same place at the same time mentally and emotionally fan. We know that that can come to our can succumb to an end. Did you want to say something? Yeah because I mean I've been having the conversation with people relationships I've been saying like this is just my personal opinion. I personally think that relationships sustain longer would would people's occupies difference basis. Obviously the relationship. I feel like they. Do you believe that a person a couple can be and I can see on the north side and that I can stay on the south side and we can have very beautiful intensified relationship at loves. These are my now we now. We don't have anyone in particular. I am very much so divorce. Thought Process is putting an atlas. Yeah I feel that I just think that you know you. It's this. This is how freeze even remained friends. Long period of time. You got to go home at behind on your own and it's just like I wanNA love you. I WanNa be would you wanna I wanNA love you there? But when it's getting on my nerves go go at your space. I don't WanNa see you what we're going to say. I don't know I will say maybe have a live have large home where you can go on his wing and then I can go on this winter and yeah yeah and that's important. That's a lot of times when people have nothing going on then it's very challenging to see someone blow up or indeed if it's not just that then it's the fact if you have one party who's overly confident but you have the second party who has low self-esteem an insecure that's gone. That's I mean that is going to be the demise of what of that particular relationship period and you can't you cannot continue to carry people you just can't you can't how. How do you approach dating now? Are there things that you look towards a look forward now like what what you could do better because I think every relationship is about learning and growing shorts all designed to grow you you ship grew? Yeah the relationship has an expiration. Yes because we all have to die. It's not because you grow up. It's not just because you grow apart but we all have to die so every relation I limit to Ukraine. I do still believe in love Youtube. Let's let's take that bothering I. I just think that when it's win win is like an amusement park arrive when it's done respectively. Get off get yet. That's what I'm saying. I don't think that all love is intended to be a forever kind of love. I think some some but not all some people just don't know when to get off the ride down. They don't know where to back. They'll see the ride as it is is bumped the girl when the day land get all right. Okay so you don't keep going back around get off it when it's done but it's over. You know this is how you possibly when you know is over casteel sustain.

That's right right and we move into a white name looking at her sideways shitty cakes doubt but we not afraid when we move of into that neighborhood but will we see them moving to add neighbor. Who We afraid this is like Oh shit? It's like everybody's afraid of the unknown. You know what I'm saying like when we are the new people they're afraid of US and when they're the new people we tend to be afraid of them don't understand the juxtaposition of dead I think it's I think maybe it's attached to the fact that the neighborhood like your memories like you said your memory like that. Maybe Daddy. That's going I wanNA white person moves in and starbucks comes up. He's gone you lose in when you thought you had so I feel like maybe when white people won't move into white neighborhoods. They feel like Oh there goes the neighborhood. Oh hosts you. They go on to the Muslim movie. Go do we're GONNA put some food. And now we got paid about his mother fucking movie. That's what we and that's how you support report each other but we always complain. We lose now community. Why can't we plan on all fucking flour walk it we make a better school for our own goddamn keen? We really didn't lose it. We'll we'll we gave it away. Yeah pretty much. We gave it away for pennies. We gave it away and and I think the the the takeaway we use any term. You leave something behind in someone else fans value in it. You can't get mad at someone else. Seeing potential learn something. You didn't see that's pretty much my marriage you hit the nail on and whatever the fuck the saying that's pretty much my man. He took that trash and turn it into trees. And you do what I'm saying.
