What did they take out? Two knew how I think they just stick her house and I think they There's a light light. Does he have a really nice place? Yes. "Legally they've got plans to push it all the way into phase three down in San Diego right and you don't have to keep our we have to ms robin and Kerry the second of time says we have to be carefully go to the beach and we don't lolly gag right because the the only major newspaper in Los Angeles as a communist urging police officers to issue tickets to sunbathers the people who love it to pieces people who lost a leg on the beach said that this is where we are outrage the they were the major print outlets here thinks that everybody should be hiding under their beds and not be allowed to sit on the sand meantime if people have to earn a living and people have to get out of the house with their mental health and the all this was rocked by Gavin Newsom Gavin Newsom got emergency powers he declared one back in early March and according to what we're learning here he's issued thirty nine executive orders and has changed two hundred loss since he and by the way the legislature was in session until recently we're now going to talk to to simply been from Yuba city a Republican by the name of James Gallagher because he had another Republican Kevin Kiley have co authored a resolution to terminate Newsom's emergency powers to bring about all right James Gallagher welcome Janet can show good to be with you John again did you know that the governor could have this kind of power in an emergency well the California emergency services act which has been put into statute does give him powers extraordinary powers during an emergency but I think as we've all seen in the reason for this resolution yeah this comp way beyond not not only the act itself but as we have gone further and further into this and we've seen the oversteps it is clearly time to end those extraordinary powers see what what what really bothers me about this is that the original deal was when the curve was flattened and it was clear the hospitals were not going to be overloaded we would start cycling back into normal life that was the deal and what we wondered early on is well what if he keeps pushing the shut down beyond the science in the data he hides behind that phrase but we we had a doctorate from Stanford yesterday and and clearly he says that for people sixty years old and under the death rate is equal to or lower than the flu and clearly all the indicators supporting appointing down so we don't need the draconian shut down anymore we actually do not and yet he still tracking is feet on this slow walking the opening process that this is now become abusive how do we stop abuse of governor exactly if there's any walling accidental management on the part of the governor has continued a slow rollout this re opening despite all the public health guidance is despite the CDC and all the things that are available that anybody can look at and see that once we get to the point that we have we can begin re opening and so what the way that we do that is it's in the act itself the legislature has the authority by a concurrent resolution to end his emergency powers and that's exactly what this element Kylie and myself have introduced and what do you think the chances are that the democratic run legislature will take it seriously well you know obviously as I have been disappointed in the past all right what about online is the go ahead are any Democrats talking that maybe this is gone too far here because they're going to suffer the backlash in November yeah a few of them were questioning that big mass deal but he made any wasn't releasing any documents on it that aroused some suspicion but I haven't heard much besides that I have certainly earned from several of my democratic colleagues their frustrations with the governor's oversteps with is over reaching the legislative powers well now here's the opportunity to do something about it because the legislature clearly has the authority now we can use it and it's time to restore balance of powers you know you learn this back in grammar school three co equal branches of government when are we going to go back to constitutional representative government and stop this overreach because I think putting partisanship aside I think the democratic legislators have a strong interest in the power of the legislature and not to be completely steamrolled by one man degree absolutely I mean I it is not a partisan issue and as we pointed out this is a Beyonce a very fundamental a government issue which is the legislature makes law and yet this governor do you know is changed to hundreds code sections during this and I make during these Daddies have these emergency powers and the legislatures have very little say changing election law overnight I wish with the stroke of a pen when that is something that even under the emergency services act is still under the authority of the legislature he clearly overstepped now when he did that we even had a bill proposing to do just that but it never got deliberated never went through the process Gavin Newsom just did it by executive fiat what do you think was the worst of what he's done with these executive orders can you pick anything out specifically well certainly changing laws which is not permitted to do changing state laws unilaterally I think it is a pretty gross abuse but you know I represent you instead counties which were the first to come forward with the re opening a plant based on science based on the data and we saw the governor's backlash and in that he sent agencies after restaurant owners who have been struggling to survive to keep their businesses open in ABC showed up at their door and essentially we're outside of their jurisdiction attempted to take their licenses aware at least started the proceeding we also stop your threat to take away our bridges our federal emergency funds to which every county in the state of California is entitled to based on what has happened you know over these past months a threat to withhold those funds and you know it's clearly you know gross abuse of executive power and that's another reason why we're doing this it's not normal to restore our authority to rein in what is clearly an abuse of power what what what do you think is the motivation here because it's not saving lives there's lots and lots of county where the death toll watch the counties where the death toll is really small and and has now been dropping and a half to death for nursing homes to begin with that's a whole nother story so what is this he's just drunk on the power what what's the point of all this well I mean it's become really clear this is not about science you know answer leads one to believe this isn't about control hi is it about well you gotta do what we say so you know what I say so instead of following the science following the public health guidance is yeah we had many counties you know on the north it had no cases whatsoever and that it had no deaths and yet they were being pushed to stay closed down until the essentially to the governor sent so you know look initially like you said many people willing to go along with this when they and then voluntarily complied largely thinking that Hey this is about flattening the curve for wrong we're all in this together but is this drug gone and as we look in in the science became clear I mean I I became more well aware of public health guidance is than I probably ever wanted to be but it it became clear that all the sciences he said show that we could in fact open up and that there were things that we could do and yet the governor still delay that and it's it's made the twentieth now right I how I mean how much longer do people have to put up with this and why he doesn't he doesn't bring out any medical authorities to explain this to answer questions I mean at least trump brings out fab Jean Berkes right it takes a lot of the media Newson Garcetti nothing and now we have a fifty four billion dollar deficit rocked by the the economy crashing he just has no perspective on this at least allow state parts of the state they could reopen safely because I've had very few cases to get some of their economy back you could help that problem too all right we gotta go but we thank you James Gallagher for coming on the show and good luck with the resolution to strip knew some of his emergency powers thank you gentlemen we will have to be pursuing everything we can and hopefully our legislative colleagues will join us they take back their power Democrats should to protect their power as a legislature right thanks James Gallagher jam Republicana Yuba city more coming up KFI am six forty and Deborah mark.

"Subaru loves to help is just one part of the Subaru. Love Promise. And it's one more reason that Subaru is more than just a car company. Sometimes these days alongs and Yoga class just isn't in the cards. But maybe a cookie is pepperidge. Farm Milano believes. You should make some time for yourself once in a while my idea of me. Time is a little bit different since I had the second baby instead of a yoga class. I may be doing yoga. Pose just one downward dog at a time when I do have time for I can eat a cookie a whole cookie and eating that cookie feels like the best little piece of me time. There is these days Milano. Cookies are the perfect. Treat to savor during me time. They have just the right amount of cookie and luxuriously rich chocolate. They're the type of treat that you don't WanNa share not even with your kids or your husband so remember save something for yourself with Pepperidge Farm Milano. How's everybody feeling started asking that instead of asking? How are you doing just feels a little more honest? I'm feeling okay. Sometimes I feel really bad and anxious and terrible and other times I feel fine changes constantly but like a lot of you. I'm hungry for things to listen to bring me a little bit of hope. That's why we decided to drop some old episodes on your feet way back in season one. We interviewed the bestselling novelist. Ms Robin her husband. Mike we talked to them about following their dream and launching an independent bookstore called boxer magic. It's just a nice listen right now as a reminder that we can and will create beautiful things out of our dreams again soon. Emma's new book. All adults here was just released into the world last week. And it's also a great reed really a perfect story for quarantine about the real messy neces- family life something. I think we can all relate to right now. So here's how men Mike's original episode in case you missed it or want to listen to the shop around the corner. Bet Me she was going to break out with me in three months. I think I said six. I'll take that bet and here. We are sixteen years here. They are Emma and Mike. Sixteen years two kids and a bookstore later. Yeah a bookstore. That's what this story is about. Every couple I know has their career escape fantasy. I have friends who daydream about buying a goat farm. Even though they've never touched a goat seriously I think maybe they've eaten goat's cheese. Once and goat farms look pretty on instagram. But the selling novelist Emma Straub and her husband. Mike they're the one couple. I know who actually did it. Who had this couple's career fantasy and they made it happen with no experience at all. They opened one of the most successful bookstores. In New York City. The way they describe it opening a bookstore was having third baby. It's changed who they are as individuals and completely redefined their marriage and they love it. They really really love it. I'm pizza. This is committed.

"Been sitting down for that one. The here's a little story walking home girl. I couldn't handle it and it really snapped me back into reality because sometimes I seem to drift away. Not only was Paula. On top of the hot one hundred chart she was also on top of the Billboard. Two hundred album chart with the classic banger after Banger after banger forever girl so incredible so good for adult contemporary. Here we are Gloria. Estefan was number one that was he. We was it face to face or one more. I don't know I'm terrible with lyrics. This is me turning into my mother. Oh my God such a classic. I didn't know the artists the artists guy but this was number one on the hot are in B hip hop songs. I'm search Imphal. We love someone today. My heart rate will love such a Bob a movie that I quote all the time. Actually I think just quoted. This movie yesterday was released this week. Wayne's world nineteen ninety two. I was talking about Delaware. Why does anybody talk about Delaware? And I asked what's in Delaware just like Wayne says but oh my gosh if I meet a celebrity typically do the we're not worthy or I change it to. I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy happens all the time. If somebody feel sick I say if you're GONNA spew spew into this if I hear Jimi Hendrix's Foxy Lady. I go to tune and talks with my hands just like garth does all my God so good and just a little on this day reference. The song you hear that brings us into the show and out of the show. It's my friend Megan winger. She is an elementary school music teacher. That's how I know her. We were teachers together. She's still teaches at the same school we worked at and she is an amazing musician and she's in a few different dance in one of her bands. Met Bolts has the amazing song getting by that they were kind enough to give me the rights to so I could use it on this podcast well. Megan winger is smoking hot like they didn't have music teachers like this when you were in school banging banging banging so since her name is winger. I naturally would call her swing and I always said it just like that it would be like. Hey what's up swing order? I think she thought it was funny for the most part No? I didn't say it in front of students in ninety nine. Another movie with great lines is office. Space so good. There's been a lot of Jennifer Aniston news out in the world and I mean obviously friends is iconic. She is Rachel Green to me and so many people but among all of the amazing project. She's done over the years office space. She wasn't a huge role. She was the female lead. But it's so worth going back and watching if your sex in the city fan at stars the Guy. Who Played Jack? Berger Carey's boyfriend who I think is the cutest Guy Ron Livingston. I'm just so charmed by him. Do you want to hear something crazy? Good because I've got it for you. In two thousand five fifteen years ago Youtube the internet site on which videos may be shared and viewed by others is launched in the United States. Let that sink in fifteen years ago. Youtube started that means fifteen years ago. An Day Youtube. Could you imagine what life would be like now without youtube every time my husband and I go anywhere and he needs to wear a tie? Youtube goes on anytime. I am feeling a need to do something different with my hair. Youtube goes on. And I'm watching an instructional video. I've been recording voiceover audition tapes. Guess what I got tips from Youtube trying to picture your life without Youtube. Even more boggling think about your children's life without Youtube blows my mind. What a change in culture. I'M GONNA go ahead and blow your mind again. Two thousand seven you. You see the memes all the time if Britney can survive two thousand seven you can make it through today. This is the week that Britney Spears shaved her head. She was in that horrible time in her life in the middle of a mental breakdown. A lot of Brittany fans think that there was probably some substance abuse issues in there to Britney shaving. Her head was her rock bottom. I mean she had had gene. Kevin Federal liner husband at the time had been having problems. She had been caught on video with her kid on her lap while she was driving. This was the time of Brittany going into a public gas station with no shoes on. We would see her just drinking sugary starbucks drinks and eating cheetos all day all night looking shoveled. It was a terrible time for Queen. Britney a really. Don't like to focus on this part of her life. If you've been in the fanny pack for Awhile and listening to this podcast. You've heard me talk about how. Brittany has come so far and rather than focusing on the two thousand seven Brittany. Let's all keep in mind that we can rise and rock bottom doesn't mean you're done just think of Brittany. She's gone on to have an amazingly successful career. Some of her best music has come out since this time including blackout which came out the same year. If you haven't heard the episode I did breaking down blackout by Britney Spears with fellow podcast her Danny Pellegrino. That was a couple of months ago. It was a very fun interview definitely since blackout is such a masterpiece. Definitely something to go back and listen to. But I'm just so distraught. I even posted on instagram. The other day about Britney and her lack of presence on social media right now that might not sound like a big deal to anybody but I follow Brittany very closely and I notice a lot of her patterns though. I don't think she's ever had complete control of her social media just like she doesn't have complete control of her estate. You can tell when she is present you can tell the videos that she is posting and it has been weeks since. Britney has posted anything. I mean Brittany's account is putting up content but it's not Brittany and it makes me very upset. I posted on instagram. The other day I was just going through all this in my head and noticing like oh my gosh on print news accounts. It's all this weird content. That's not her sure enough. I see an article written about Taryn manning who was Brittany's Co Star in. The Movie Crossroads. Very misunderstood movie. Speaking of a coming of age tale we were talking about the breakfast club earlier. Must We not forget crossroads starring Brittany Spears Taryn Manning Zoe Saldana Dan ackroyd as Britney's dad and Kim Cottrell is Brittany's mom in case you forgot okay? Britney was going through so much and I think she might be in a really bad place. Now even if you're not a Brittany stay or even a Brittany fan like me. We all want what's best for each other. Let's all spread some good positive vibes. The care bear stare out to my girl. Britney spears. That's going to do it for yesterday's happenings but before we go. I want to give a quick shout out to all the CELEBS born this week. Starting with Kurt Cobain. Who was born nineteen sixty seven? He should have been fifty three years old today. Brian Latrell a very different musical act was born in seventy five. Of course does the backstreet. Boys do I need to say that. He's forty five years old this week. So Happy Birthday Brian. Then you'll Queen Jennifer love. Hewitt was born in seventy nine. She's forty one she's actually born on the same day and the same as Jordan. Peele from get out and I know he's got a new project coming out. I can't remember what it's called but it looks amazing. Controversial Vander pump rules beauty. Christopher dody was born in one thousand nine hundred eighty three. She send you weird to think. They're kristen. Doty is thirty seven so I love Kristen and girls crazy but I love her and I really do feel bad for her in this whole Stasi broken. Friendship Bravo was running reruns of Andrew pump rules from several seasons ago and it was back in the day when Kristen was dating James and James was brand new to the show and Christine was absolutely insane as far as her ex sandoval trying to get him and Arianna to break up. I felt bad for James back then because Christine couldn't stop talking about her ex and he was really struggling with that. It was just also bad. Also bad kristen. I hope she figures it out. I do love her and happy. Thirty seventh birthday. It probably didn't have that much love for her from that but I do in one thousand nine hundred eighty eight one of my favorite singers one of the most beautiful women. I think I've ever seen Ms Robin Riana. Fendi we know is of course the singer from Barbados who has been in movies. She has her lingerie lines savage not. She's got her makeup line. Fendi beauty girl does it all. She turns thirty two today. So Happy Birthday Riana and it's funny now that I'm thinking about it and just talking about Kristen from vendor pump rules riana loves vander pump rules so much. I remember a few years ago. She had posted on her instagram. She had actually been watching TV and took a video on our phone over TV of her. Just laughing her butt off at what was happening on. Bandra pump roles girl. I feel you thank.

"Bizarre. okay so bizarre be a Z. A. A. R. a bizarre is like a market. of little things miscellaneous goods a place to sell goods we have a lot of like affair has a is sort of like a bizarre sales sometimes at the Middle East and Asia has a little bizarre markets we have fall bazaars here in central Oklahoma I don't want to tell you about a special one to me this is the Christian women's fall bizarre it's at quail creek Country Club on. ms robin gun just sent me this information to be sure that I get it correct it's on the third Wednesday of each month we have a luncheon you don't have to join by the way just let him know the week before your common always an inspirational speaker and then a real practical speaker as well and it's this year it is on October sixteenth at eleven o'clock. daisy it's a little bit of a fundraiser and so the ones that go quite a lot donate new items to be for silent auction so fun because you can get a lot of things for not a whole lot of money at this bizarre it's a fun time inspirational speaker ed think it's twenty two dollars maybe twenty is probably twenty two dollars usually is to attend I have a table purchased if you want to call in. and ask a question or make a comment I want to invite you to join me at my table so our number here is eight four oh one thousand if you want to go to this event I just call my office seven two to thirty to thirty two and we'll tell you how to purchase a ticket. so that's our fall bizarre yeah how about bizarre as in. that's B. I. Z. eight eyes C. A. R. R. ET it is very strange or unusual especially I as to cause interest or amusement as bizarre well in real estate we do run across a lot of bizarre things will cover a little bit of that. so that's our word of the day beds are in bizarre if we can and I say those about the signing right I'll that Okey twang accident. so what does it take to become a good real estate agent out certain personality types really lend themselves more than every that more than other types it really helps if you are an inter active person if you have a high energy level. up. you in Susie Azam. you need action enthusiasm and your call Lauber collaboration in order to become a good real estate agents. Mary good morning. morning. it is on the sixteenth of October. nice luncheon and it's a bizarre would you like to go with me. what day of the week is that it's a Wednesday it's always the third Wednesday of the month. okay will you give Mr Gannon your information and I'm I'm gonna ask you a question have you ever kind of wondered what it's like to be a realtor full time. I mean it S.. have you associated with any realtor have you sold the house yeah realtor okay. what was surprised you the most or didn't surprise you the most about what your realtor did or the communications stuff like that. I think how they handled the inspection. those are. the inspection process is interesting is on that were you on the the buying side or the selling side. so you were selling so if it was not very long ago what happens is the buyer has a an inspection period. an inspection period last usually about. as two weeks give or take a few days each there's a fill in the blank part of the contract that defines the time lines let's just assume that this contract just two weeks so the buyer has two weeks not just for inspections but investigations inspections and reviews a lot of people forget those other two words in there and that's a mistake because invest inspections are a physical inspection of your property the components the structure the appliances the mechanisms the different systems of your home and there's usually a whole house inspector then there's also usually passed inspection looking for wood destroying insects. okay but there's also investigations like the investigations can be is it in a flood plain can I get insurance on it I is there a sex offender nearby. there there aren't fourteen items on our standard contract they can be investigated. and then reviews like okay you're gonna review the lead based paint report that the seller had done when they purchased you're going to review the plat you're going to review the H. away bylaws the restrictive covenants of the neighborhood that were filed with the plat there you can review a lot of things so did you have someone go over all of that with you or did you just take care of did they cover mostly just inspections. yeah well that's a shortcoming of. he. well I a very good realtor is going to go over all of that stuff with you because there are reasons why you may want to buy a property and maybe don't want to buy property. that's the investor day inspections themselves the buyer has an inspection and there are. I mean some of these inspections reports I've had him as many as seventy some pages long. most of them are about twenty to thirty pages and include pictures did yours include pictures. okay well that helps doesn't it because at least you know what the inspectors talking about because they'll say well the. yes and you know when that started. when inspectors got licensed they kinda needed to get in it picky because their license and they have to disclose and actually give you a visual inspection of the components of the house. well. a talented realtor is going to work with a buyer. and say this. list is extraordinarily long and majors on some real small issues. let's look at the main systems of the house and let's address that. yeah I mean it's okay to now will that the weather stripping needs to be replaced on the bottom of the garage door it's okay to know that our birds picked a hole in the screen it's okay I. to know. it functions. yeah right functions as intended the other thing is if your chimney cap is cracked you want to know that it could be a leak problem and you you might want to take action on those kind of things so it talented realtor this well educated is going to be able to go through that list now what it says to begin with I read probably two hundred inspection reports a year. every word as a reports and you get to where you learn a lot about houses and what some things are not so important. and sometimes things are really important I found that electricity is real important to most folks. because they're afraid of electricity so they want all those electrical things fixed and I am so glad that my folks and Hayes electric our friends and our knowledgeable and are. reasonably priced to merry I'm have you hang on because I am thrilled that you are going to be my guest at the Christian women's luncheon and we're gonna take a break and then we have missed Robyn Gann on the line and she is going to talk to us about two events and we'll be right back right after this with.

I can't do ten, but I can do five if you text the word feed four the number four feed F E E D D two zero two two two. You can make a five dollars donation is all has been brought to you by DTLR in news and talk thirteen eighty W A. Okay. We've been talking about the elections and the. Democratic nominee says she's not giving up. She gonna fight all the way and the governor elect he's calling themselves. Look dot art and furniture and curtains and moving out to stuff and now go protests, all you want. But results ain't gonna change the name a transition team a name a new secretary of state today. Ms Robin, Crittenden, a black woman who has for many years been part of the Nathan deals team. And so things move on. We have with state Representative Sandra scotch. She is vice chair of the legislative back caucus biggest latte caucus in the country. But we know Sandra for many many years. I remember when this Republican regime came down to Clayton county. Sandra, Scott, duly elected in eight told her as of this day, you have no more seat on the board you outta here. Sandra undeterred by that said. Okay. Well, if you won't put me off for the board angle cry out, I'm going to turn around and run for state Representative, and I don't even think it was a year were there a year separation between. Did she ended up at the state house Representative represented Scott? How are you doing? Great, derek. How you doing today? Good good. Good microphone right in front. You did like my because I don't hear a word. You say I got to ask you about this election. You know? I don't even know what acts you though, just your thoughts about it. It is as close as a governor's race. If we have had in modern history and. But it the votes are being counted. And as a protests in the brand kept the Norwich dot ordering furniture premature time to move on. Or what is your sense? I think it may be premature. I just hope that at the end of the day for when it's all said and done that. Brian. Kemp may be may have to pay for that furniture to take to his own house. That is my hope that with all that is going on that at the end of the day. We can't make a change in Georgia. Now from us. Home all day. So he looking at the TV. He's got a lot of things are coming out and coming up. So if some votes that still needs to be counted count every vote I'm not opposed to that. I think you've done change. But who knows we're looking at. I just read update in Florida. If it is true check with Mitzi. They said they have now pool that one to the fact that he's going to be a recount. Now, the one thing we know about Florida, they even worse than Georgia in terms of voter suppression. Yes. So recount does not a overturn of election.
