"Last several years, But this guy would go back and forth from practice. He'd been drive to Houston to where he was getting his chemotherapy treatments over there. D. Anderson Cancer Center. Driving from Lexington to got the game ball after the win against Tennessee. You know, I mean, this guy he wouldn't miss wouldn't this time but he had a very rare cancer of the bile ducts. Hey, got diagnosed more than two years ago and oil boy, I mean, and that's you know, Here's the thing and I don't know. If say, they found out, you know, earlier with that type of cancer. If there's anything that can be done, you don't know. But there are rare cancers and rare things. That doesn't matter. You you can get to them early. They're still going to continue. Todt Rya rate the body. Like this guy was beloved and they called, they said, this guy was a class act off offensive lineman John Sharman, and he is survived by wife and and I believe three or four Children and very, very There it is. Lee and his wife, Joseph. Benjamin Matthew and then evidence of four kids, three boys and a girl. But they said this guy was, you know, very, very special. And, you know, it wasn't just you know, football. He was the family guy. He was tough. He was funny. They nicknamed him the Great American. And they said it was a testament on on how well he was. He was like, and they were heartbroken for his family. They've watched him go through this, but just 45 years young Andy and you and I realized how young that is, is we've surpassed that age and you know that, So it's always tough, but you would think heavy hearts but you know they're gonna be focused and try and dedicate this game against Vandy at home and Lexington on Saturday. Yeah, it is, um, but Ling and winning like 17. Actually, it's 17.5. So you're looking at winning by 18 or more is asking a lot. Yet at the same time, you know, Kentucky's feeling their season is not reflected in their win loss record. They are two and four straight up. Of course, they lost that wild. They they labeled. I lost that game to all gun in which they were competitive at the half. Then they lose that I think was a double overtime game, 42 41 told miss. Then they win Min at Mrs Win at home against Mississippi State, winning by 22 points 24 to 2, and then they went 34 to 7 on the road at Tennessee. So they're two wins would have covered the number that they're laying against Vanderbilt. Then the losses to Missouri were by 10 and 11 points in low scoring games. The other hand, you look at Vanderbilt Oh, and five. They had that close game against an M talking the season. In a 34 point loss at home to Ellis, You are 34 point at home by the identical 41 to 7 score against South Carolina and then yet another home lost 54 to 21 to Mississippi. And then last week, they were getting 18 points and covered in the 24 17 loss at Mississippi State. So you take a look at Kentucky and you say, Oh, well. Both of their wins were against 12, Mississippi State's has turned out to be a weak team. Tennessee's Not a bad team. Both of their both of their two wins or by, you know, over 20 points and the three of El of Vanderbilt's losses, all three of them in there only three home games or by more than 30 point, So you could make a case for laying the points with Kentucky. But given the offense, I'm not quite sure that I want to lay that big number. Maybe I would look Because I think defensively they're going to have success against the Vanderbilt team that's had trouble scoring. I might look under the total, even though it's a very low total. I think I saw it around 42 a half the last time I checked 42 42 a half, So if I played the game, I can't make a case for Vanderbilt. I can't feel comfortable. Lay that big of a number against Kentucky s. Oh, maybe I look under the total, or maybe I need to get involved in player at halftime. Boston College. Djakovica. Pretty good quarterback David Bailey pretty solid on the ground Flowers. Excellent receiver. I like what Jeff, Half Lee's done in the first year there at Boston College. He's done. A real nice job took climbs and right there to the brink. We know Lawrence didn't play. There was the first game without Lawrence, but Notre Dame turns around beats Clemson and South Bend. Now they have to go to Chestnut Hill. It's a big game right now. The lines 13.5 1st off. Do you feel that public money will push this to 14? Or do you think that the public may actually look at Boston College and drop it down even further? And would you ever by a half point safe from 13.5 up to 14? I might do it here with Boston College getting plus 14. But I think what's gonna happen is it will go the 14. And then Ah, lot of the sharks will buy it down to, uh, buy it at the plus 14. I don't know that it never gets the 14.5. This is this is a tough spot for Notre Dame again. Coming off the game against Clemson, the game that went You know what the double overtime and they won in a very exciting but also, ah, very draining game both physically because of the little extra time they played, but also mentally and emotionally, because this is a big game for them. That's got a chance. You know This is a Clemson team that a couple of years ago with Notre Dame 31 23 and a national semifinal game, So it was a big win for the Irish Boston College. On the other hand within their sandwich game last week, they had just come off of losing. 34 to 28 at Clemson or week earlier where they led with 24 13. I think it may have been at halftime never scored again, and then they go to Syracuse last week was sort of the easy game and they played well. They didn't dominate, but they won 16 13. So they accomplish what they did. And now that was their sandwich game because now they're facing Notre Dame. So they were playing in between. Clinton and Notre Dame won the game they needed to now it's a spot where no name seven. No, they're you know, they've knocked off the number one team in the country after a team that they're playing this week, almost knocked them off the week before. I prefer to take the points here, but it's almost like the thing with Arkansas might take a look at doing something in the first half doing something maybe for the full game or at halftime because I can see again. There's a lot of there's a lot of room for Notre Dame to go out there and when, Yeah, they were in a situation a couple years ago a couple of weeks ago when they went to Pittsburgh and everybody like Pittsburgh and Notre Dame little amount, but Notre Dame wasn't coming off a win. Against Clemson, and they have struggled a couple of times this year. They didn't blow out Duke. They won that one. I think by 13 in the opener against the Duke team that turned out to be not very, very good. And then they had that 17 12 win over Louisville. So Boston College new coach having a better season than expected. I look to take the points before laying them. Right. There you go, one of ducking one more game and they will jump to the NFL. Get a couple takes from you and let me see going on up top to boy. I just had it. They're all Miami, Florida at Virginia Tech is via Tech comes off the loss at home. The Liberty on the last second field goal. Miami and Manny Diaz is a big game for The Hurricanes trying to stay, you know unscathed outside of that one loss to Clemson. Your take here for Jinya.

"To showcase to work cure rate meaningful discussions and use it as a tool to target instruction. Also highlight practical uses clipboard that increase student's ability to communicate collaborate the critically and be created. So without further ado, let's collaborate, communicate and educate with the best educators in the world right here on Flip Board Edu podcast. Ladies and Gentlemen Welcome to the show today I'm GonNa, talk to you about how I got started with Flip Board. I got started with Flip Board through an amazing teacher I actually stolen. This is really how I got started I'm going to tell you the story apostolate it was a great story so I was. Getting Ready to go to a Science Department Meden I just got a job in for being is D- to coach basketball and to teach aquatic CISE was a great job for me because I got a chance to work with Hall of fame coach Righty Courtney, and I was very excited I was going to have a new talent pool. Come from Houston Independent School district. I was really looking forward to a just a another avenue in my career and I was put on an amazing science teen the students that I were used to. Come from different socio economic backgrounds. So the students that and for being could basically afforded device. Mrs Win devices were new and They were trying to figure out what works best and. So. I was always on a look off new things specifically and the back of my mind. One thing that I really was always on the lookout for was a tool that can showcase what I was doing in the classroom. While my students are learning wanted a big problems at that particular time was when administrative came and did a walk through in my classroom, they really couldn't see what the students were learning. There was really no visual way for me to show that the students were engaged in what I was doing a lot of times when they did walk into. The classroom which is really look like the kids weren't paying attention I wasn't teaching the students were just owner devices, and if a an administrator had not been you know schooled on how to evaluate on my like that you can end up with a poor evaluation. So I was did without leading the back of my mind I'd always had an idea something that I actually wanted anyway. So Kim back to my story Lisa feuer was teaching chemistry. She was my lunch partner. We would all eat lunch together sometimes at Lisa was getting ready to go. she would be there the next day and she was like, well, what I'm GonNa do is I'm going to put some chemistry articles that I want our students to read and I was like, wow, that's an amazing thing. You know how you're going to get the students to read because that was one of the initiatives that the school was trying to focus on it. She was like I'm GonNA use board. Now's like flip board never heard of football. She's like Oh. Yes. A really cool tool that you can put articles in. Can just flip through and just read articles. So. I saw the way she used her classroom and not stolen. I use it with my aquatic science. Students quickly became one of the most useful tools that I have ever used in the classroom number one simply because it's a beautiful APP in his fouled on android and IOS devices which Mason. Amazing. At that particular time I don't think it was on the web year, but it was something. That was filed on both devices solves great as device agnostic I can use it for any student. Another thing that I liked about flew board at that particular time was I could generate a qr code and when people come came into my room now, I could point the administrator to the Qr code and I could say, Hey, here is the Qr Code Floor magazine and that administrator would be. Able to pull up the resources that we would have that for students. So that was a really cool thing for me to show that dish shortly after that flew aboard allowed, you start start to be able to make magazines and security. So what I would do is I would have my students to write a newsletter per se of the action or activity that we were doing in class. and. Then, I would have those articles flipped into the floorboard south specifically, I use google docs and Google docs gives you a you are L. linked to share and I would have students to write their articles in Google Docs at using the article typically then I would share their stories to the floor magazine and share no stores to the flip were magazine I. Would they ensure that out to the? teachers and excuse me I share those out to the parents of those students and to the administrators via Qr Code on the door when they walked in so they can see you know exactly what we're doing what was the newsletter? So that was my product. And I'd never ever ever would have been able to use floorboard if it wasn't for Lisa foil I don't think. Lisa. Gets the proper amount of credit. For me still in her idea actually teach there's really no such thing as still is just really borrowed So I definitely want to always give Lisa feuer the chemistry teacher at George, Bush, high school credit for turning me onto flew board and having great ideas and from there it. Just took off because it's so many things that I could do with my students. From example here's one that you can do with yours and the COVID era students are. GonNa be looking for ways to just unwind and a really good cool way to do. It is to share a magazine full of music and was really cool as I like the station on Youtube called Chill Hoppe and as good study music Nice Mellow Music Kinda beat. No, words Nice Melodic melodies as so what you could do is curate a couple of those chill hop songs and put those in a Flip Board magazine and call a study music shared that music with your students from the floorboards magazine and tell them that when they're studying, they can listen to this music now that works well for secondary. Students. As well. However, if you're an elementary teacher, maybe there are some elementary songs that you could find on youtube that would be nice to play in your classroom. Especially, if you teach in the pre K. or early childhood era sharing those songs that teach number facts, fluency Sharon. Diese, want that teach alphabet phonetic sounds. I know phonics is not what you're teaching in elementary but just different techniques that you can share parents it can work as a resource and that and that manner. So. Boss Story Baffler board ends with given Lisa full the credit for giving me turned onto it and how you can enhance your classroom just by sharing music especially in his covert airtime with your students so that it can you know just lower the effect filter and allow them to enjoy being in.

"And the brain needs time to process and reputation is very important learning and when you underscore repeat something emphasize it was going to be an emotional and cognitive marker for that statement event fruit. So yes I do that with grading Clinton yeah it helps I mean from my end it helps to hear it because sometimes you say eight in a even a more convincing way the second time perhaps yeah. That's another rhetorical technique where you make a statement and you pause slightly then you say let me repeat bat and then you you repeat the statement with a little bit of a verbal emphasis. That's different than the first time. Sure but it's the same message and you're right right that that ends up stimulating and there's cognitive science reasons for it but it's also emotional which stimulates more brain tends to imprint it or encoded more deeply in mcgibbon brain and again I do myself right right and then for for the second Thoughtful right not thoughtful like to help someone else out which it is but like if to think that far ahead or about a topic which is long-form conversations for example. It's very thoughtful. Even spend the time to do these types of things when you get that feedback. There's a couple things and I'm seeing too is. You're getting those hard truths and it's those people that can accept those hard truths and do something with it and you on your podcast. And I'm sure you talk about this business as well and you talk about her mired uses this word. Allah is uncommon. Are you going to be uncommon. And you've talked like talked about it on podcasts. Before it's not that easy you bring up Michael. Thomas is an example wide receiver at Ohio State. If if he's not the best receiver certainly one of the best the highest paid receiver in the NFL. And you hear stories whether it was from you guys from other people. I I hear the story that you went to New Orleans you wanted to be the hardest worker there and he goes and gets there and he's going to beat everyone they're going to do his work out. He's GonNa Watches film and he's GonNa be drew brees attic Reasons US incredible worker so he's finishing finishing workout and sure enough drew brees has already done his word. He comes out and Talley just finished his shower. So there's always competition there's amazing people that you can be around and put yourself those. There are two very uncommon. People and I want to talk a little bit about because when you hear those hard truths with the feedback or what are you gonNa do with it. Sometimes you could just they get you mad or whatever. You don't really do anything with it. It sounds like you are Meyer. Talk a lot about being on common. What are you GonNa do with that and you know working harder taking that next step or at night working on the weekends working out you know training your mind being Mentally Toss WanNa get more into what it is to be uncommon? Yes that's a that's a theme that connected urban me. He's been on this quest his entire life. I've been on this question entire life. When we met is one of several things we can even leave said? Oh you too yeah me too great. Let's do that together. Let's figure that Out and one of the things that that I don't know when exactly I introduced the science of this thing early on but it's interesting that had the whole notion of being uncommon. We're not talking about uncommon talent. We're talking about uncommon skill that has built an uncommon work ethic which you referenced certainly with my Thomas and drew brees and the reality is that no one has a say on how much they were or were not born with talented. A gift uncommon choice. And that's a huge important principle for everyone that's going to be listening to. This counts against uncommon is a choice choice. We use the word elite a lot or exceptional uncommon is all sentenced to us and what I've learned something John Wooden taught me way back in the seventies. It's not about the talent you do. Don't have about the work that you do. And talent is available to people who are born with it but next level skill is available. attleboro wanted to do the work to build it. I'm amazed at the scientific fact that the human brain has an unlimited capacity building show that fascinates the human brain can build skill. But it wasn't born. We can build skill beyond talent. Talent is a limiter for most people. Most people perform around their talent level. Then they don't get better because beyond talent something we call the edge beyond talent. It's hard work. It's much more difficult to build a skill so obviously you don't have tolerance for as a skill that aligns with your talent. What the elite do? What the uncommon do they aren't satisfied with with the skills that align with Taylor Day what to build skill beyond car? And that's what's really cool to be around these kind of people to observe them and it's really cool and unbelievably believably fulfilling to teach this to people who say I'm stuck at this spot and great one where they're going to do to get the on it and there's what worked you need to do and it's going to be uncomfortable. It's GonNa take a long time. There's GonNa be mistakes but all these things come together. You learn from mistakes. You get feedback from your coaches you embrace the productive UPI discovering at this edge. Talent runs out. and You keep doing the work you keep doing the work you keep doing the work and you're just relentless about doing that And you know that if you keep doing the work you will get a breakthrough. We'll go the skill Recently it's being called. Grit that word has resurfaced again and enter it. But it's essentially perseverance. And it's amazing. What you can build on to your life you just are relentless and willing to do the work over the long period of time amazing amazing but most people on the way so when it gets hard most people bail which is why we use the word uncommon? What's common is to quit? It's on com is to keep going right. It sounds easy right or doesn't sound easy. It sounds hard but it's difficult right. 'cause you're going to inevitably run into a situation where it's not going to play okay. How like you had planned or even could've murmell even thought of something bad's going to happen or whatever that might mean Jack Right in their percents secondary I mean I I give you know? It's all over the country and depending upon the topic but I will often ask a group. How many of you raise your hand? You you have tried some tried to improve some areas of your life and it got difficult because it was difficult you quit and raise your hand and every audience. Every hand goes up. Everybody has that stop. Stop their life where they started working on something January now so it's twenty twenty. This is the MRS win. The New Year's resolutions are being implemented suited suited and. It feels really good right now to be doing the new stuff that you said in twenty twenty. I'm GonNa do this and this and this and stop doing that dot net but what you discover over along the way is oh my gosh. It's hard but you said something earlier and I wanNa make a statement that I also emphasizing. That is if you want to great things in life. I have to say yes to things and that's one of those timeless truth but simply been around. Well it's time he's been around from the beginning any and everybody wants to great things but the only way you get it. This is it you said yesterday the hard things and digest how it works. I like how you it's again. We talked about before about you. Repeat things you also pause to let it sink in because it matters. That's a major statement that you make. There's a component of it a- As a leader in a company and you bring people on to be a part of your business your culture. What is your set out to do what it is that they're setting out to do and you are GonNa come across people and some people are uncommon in some people are acting common? They're just pushing the buttons and they're putting in their time time and then it's done and they go home and they don't want to think about it anymore. They say there's comments their thoughts. They WANNA be on common but they're not willing to do those things now. You also talk a lot about on your podcast about pushing those people now. It's very difficult. Because how do you make that decision. If this person is go has the ability to become uncommon. You like you said before you can learn these things you can spend time working on your mental toughness your grit whatever. Although that is it is that's a difficult thing for a leader to figure that out. There's a lot of time and motion and energy that gets put into that to figure out. Is this person going going to get there or do we need to make a change. I see this across all sorts of businesses. We deal with our business right and you're trying to figure out. Is this person willing to go. That Nextel are they WANNA be part of this culture. Obviously with you going around the world in working with companies doing the keynote speeches. I'm assuming net you see this quite a bit that people can understand this uncommon conversation but then applying it to someone else when you're not inside their head to know are they willing to take those extra for stuff. That's very difficult for a business leader for business owner to figure out. What do we do from here? You make a great point i. I'm not sure Aching uh-huh difficult as we've all made it out to be obviously the word on calling means it's rare therefore the common thing is for people not to you do the next number work however I do think that if a leader in fully engaged I'm gonNA statement I make I and this is part right around. Leadership Training and our leadership program called market leader. We start with this. This is the very first thing that we teach in leadership's leadership was a mindset. I and IT skills that second okay. So what we teach and we give them the mindset of the leaders written down and clients all over the place to actually printed this out and they posted someplace a memorable memorable or they can see it. And here's how leader and things. I often describe it. This where you pull up into the facility you pull up in your car in the parking lot of your business your office building or the project every school and.

"Kind of pressure right now of giants head coach Joe judge it's a live it's pretty sharp good suit Hey you know what how you look what you say about press coverage goes it matters now I know matters I've heard all you dopes talking about Mike McCarthy and how he looked and what he said now granted I did talk about what he said now what Jerry Jones said but notice I did not talk about how they looked let's say for judge he looks good you look sharp in your city shop suited up like that and by the way a suit that we did fix it's cut the right way that was smart not every giants head coach has shown up with a suit that fit and it backfired badly see only get that chance may get one first impression right make it count now one E. Levin that's a pretty significant number it's a pretty significant number because it's a pretty damn big number one hundred and eleven the reason I mention that one eleven is the number of episodes that are now available in the ever expanding library of the Jim Rome podcast which if you did not already know is premium original content which lives outside of the daily show those who already listen to it love it I know this they tell me those of you who are not listening are missing out the only thing better than the conversations that I'm having over there once a week is the price tag zero dollars and zero cents the sticker cost is being the exact same since day one we have never raise the price on that the price is always been for three zero point zero zero point zero this week my guest is a former college basketball coach turned a brilliant analyst Seth Greenberg thirty five years court side eight more behind the studio desk and we've got history seven I we go way back to the early nineteen nineties when he was coaching in the big west Long Beach state and they have some fierce rivalry games against my very own beloved UC Santa Barbara gauchos seven I took a little stroll down memory lane yesterday we were playing Santa Barbara the gold mine what you would call the Roach motel and it was an absolutely brutal game I'm talking about it was a rock fight and one point of the game it got to be a little bit Arrakis attic quite honestly Santa Barbara guy hit one of my guys behind the head both benches cleared a went up into the stands of course me like being an idiot that I was at that age I'm like right in the middle of it almost got my head taken off by Lucious Davis said game as we went the next day you are killing us on radio and my wife was working at and was a huge fan of yours well she got so fired up she called into the show under an assumed name you proceeded to kill Long Beach state and hang up on her bed she calls me losing her mind well we all know up American Legion and I called my yes it is and like money roll wise you killing us and it was a Santa Barbara guy I need to get a chance to protect my team in your vita minotaur stop in Anaheim I was supposed to come in for one second I think I came in for an hour and from that point on I really appreciate the friendship and at that time I became kind of a regular I became your college basketball group for a while there he did that's true story Seth Greenberg reset the entire story perfectly and even more detail on the full episode yeah I'm not I'm his recall is amazing I don't remember that like that he said one of your guys hit my guy the back of the head I don't know Seth I can remember one of your guys at one of our guys in the back of the head either way either way it's true yeah I was not a big fan a Long Beach state was a big fan of Long Beach state like they were not a big fan of us and I did kill them on the show the next day and I did call their barn the Roach motel back in the day and I did hang up on caring Greenberg after she called in to defend the beach now my defense I had no idea that was Karen Greenburg because asset pointed out Karen called in under a fake name under an alias I love I love Karen I love Seth I could not respect set anymore for wanting to do the show after that you know he didn't like I said I'm so mad screw that guy screw the whole thing is like not to come in and defend my guys and he did and we became good friends after that fact remember that time some Santa Barbara focusing like now why you letting that guy on there the enemy we hate them my Gabonese good content is really good this past month our families exchange Christmas cards like we do every single year so he is a friend and the quick start it is pretty amazing right and he's got amazing memory for all things like Seth sick photographic on that stuff so says his been out of coaching since he was released from his duties at Virginia Tech back in twenty twelve at the time of that pink slipping he had a five eighty winning percentage he was a two time ACC coach of the year and whether he thought the move was justified or not sep noses was anybody coaching is a what have you done for me lately kind of business coaching as good as your last game is because the last season like I won twenty five games the year before I got fired I mean I I give you before I got fired I'd be I I be doing Carolina I started for fresh from my last year all of a sudden we won sixty or seventy games out last year started for freshman and I was to fire it why wasn't too far room one one twenty four twenty five I wish to fiery when you know we want sixteen or seventeen and by the way the goddess play for the clippers montrezl Harrell he was already committed to us Dorothy Smith was playing for us I mean that that that make sure I would have for pros so but you know look I landed on my feet and our life is good our girls are great they're all grown you know get grown up and life goes on all true that is all true now it's been about a year since the last coached but despite having a great quality life right now in set he he is such a great analyst and he's got a great life despite that fact he is a coach and he is not close the door completely on a possible return to the sidelines if the right situation were to present itself you always wonder you know I'm I'm in so many practices I did I spend a lot of time then Babbage called me to coach whisper I spent a lot of time talking to coaches about their teams by dealing with adversity that about dealing with issues I go around in a pre season and a visitor after your guy Chris beard spent two days with the Texas tech and and coach beard and I've kind of little evaluation on their staff and their team and so I get a little bit of a sex but you know you miss competing you Mrs winning losing putting together a plan that the opportunity to see if I can put together a plan and went again at the highest level it's always in the back your mind it's not something that I I'm running to do because I do have a great group of people work one of the and I've got a great place here and so it would have to be something really special and you know it's like anything else said you got to have the president the athletic director and yourself with the same issue if you don't have those very things aligned eventually it's going to fall apart that would be the only way I would even consider it I see hard in that clip Seth is on the gloss the coach Whisperer and he is that you guys got in the years of the very best guys doing it now I can listen to him all day long break down the top coaches in that sport and what makes them so he's fascinating like that is example we talk about can sagas mark few this is a guided sat says amazing guy right an amazing guy but don't get it twisted he looks like he's kind of laid back in the Pacific Northwest he's like do not mistake this guy he is cold blooded one thing about you is he's comfortable in his own skin he knows he doesn't mess with happy he belongs at exactly you know you could say he belongs in Oregon as well as an organ grad but he's not a happy place I think which is important he understands that he's not messing with happy so I think that support now in terms of the success they had I'm not sure anyone could predict what they've been able to bail I mean it's absolutely incredible they just got another recruit top five recruiting beat everyone in the country he's a great tactician he doesn't get caught up in the in the minutia he recruits to guys to second place for him which is the most important thing don't you know don't get seduced by Palpatine seduce also by character and **** he's created this pop one obviously would look at pipeline with Lloyd did to get these kids from overseas which is incredible the one thing that hasn't changed and I said to you like I recall if you he's a great guy he is a great guy but that dude will cut your jewels off I mean he is a fierce fierce competitor you know he looks like the kid next door he might be Eddie Haskell yes me Burke he's a clinic he is so interesting set is so good he also knows the association called like I wanna get a start on Allen Iverson because Seth's older brother Brad was the GM of the six is at the time he took a I number one overall as you might imagine a I was not the easiest guy to deal with when he was young player our was a mature he didn't understand at that point how to be a pro except when the light went on my polite went on we he would actually take your heart out I mean he was as competitors it like he has lost part of duties have been around this probably find more his rookie year than any player in history NBA their rookie year this you can get it he just didn't get it all new room they did have a very strong locker room they didn't have a anyone coaching locker room that you know they were franchise in transition and it was hard but he you know it's funny I saw Allen that when I went into the hall of fame and first thing out of game up I introduce myself because of because I love your brother so I I appreciate that he felt that way because that Brad was pretty tough on but Allen Iverson and that that that dude competed who Seth Greenberg he said mention brat he I didn't get into it in this segment or the podcast but he had Brad within the Virginia Tech except Mitt set is such an amazing analyst he does not get the respect he deserves for being as good a coach as he was sep took Long Beach state in the Kansas when they were number one and knocked on the hell out Seth when he was at Virginia Tech beat Carolina when they were one beat Duke when they were one he was a really good coach so we cover a lot of ground in that episode he's got thoughts on the college games got thoughts on the pro game he's got thoughts on how to legalize gambling is becoming a major talking point and a source of content for enormous networks the used to avoid it at all costs you want to look for this conversation that's conversation I could never have on the show not that in depth not that deep of a dive so make sure you look forward and make sure you look for your crappy voice mails they're both on iTunes Google play apple podcast Jim all dot com click the.

"What do you think about that? Well I think that personally Vlad is is just that Derby Guy. He's GonNa go all the way I don't think he's GonNa lose to match Edmund. I don't think he's GonNa lose the Jock Peterson. Do I think he's GonNa win it all yes do I. I think he has one hundred percent chance to do it. No there's so many other guys declan good deep better than him in this competition. He's the youngest he's so he doesn't have the experience it's of the MLB. I wouldn't put him in the first year. I mean it's good for the fantasy but it's not really good for him considering he's not the best he's not even the best blue Bluejean so I would be trying to be Justin smoak but okay great now. Rajastan that over this is look can't judge of yet it's he's halfway through looking way is hitting like fifty. He's halfway through cookie year exactly's please hitting two fifty S. I was average to be hired before you try to mess with swing in the dirt. Okay I agree that he is my opinion. I think I I also think the way I think Jacksonville flight but again like I said the other one I think it comes down. who gets hat I do? He's all about like you saw. What Bryce Harper did last year you saw short of a whole Mondays are marketing? How you might be the most powerful guy in the world and one hundred and five interceptions to win and still lose when someone facing doesn't even have that much power but hidden type four hundred go and just gets pumped up and then he just clinking? If one misses hits warned. Mrs. Won the Hobey then. I don't think he's GonNa win but if he just if because on street so he's just smoke in the ball. I don't think anyone stopping him. The hobie an affair Jack Stack can GAC is very shaky hitter. I mean he's an up and down but he is. He's like a babe ruth hit or Miss Guy. I mean if he's going to hit a home run each training hormone. He's GonNa Miss It. He's going to go yard. These are coming like seventy right it down the middle. So he's ready. He knows it's coming. Where's it's coming? What the speed is is going to be so I think Jack has a great shot? Do I think he's going to beat. Out Vlad no a the other ground is an alternate and you'll be bell on Gel and solid Josh. I think Jeff One right along. Just it's a really powerful guy. Very powerful Valia unstoppable visit another guy who can definitely get hot and once you get there. It was absolutely no stopping him. There is no way to stop him. Is Josh Bow on enough. He's that guy that I would get hot. He's definitely get a home up a good amount. I don't enough that guy's GONNA get hot. So that's all we have for the Baseball right now. No we didn't even say what about the finals. We said blood. I know but it will be rounded with split where you think about that match. Tehran's has got any chance. I think he's got the enchanted evening. I do think ladder went Alonzo. Good Valey again. I just hope it doesn't try to put it. But show the cloudplayer auto plant to fall into the seat. Just take take a big salads way and that is going to go into the sheets done with my. You don't have to take trying to hit the five hundred feet when a home when I hit the ball. Five hundred feet but if viewer hundred feet. That's going to help out to win. How South WanNa hit because you get your bonus time if he goes five hundred if you go four fifty more than three times I think it? Is You get bonus on. So you WANNA tater you want to get as far as you can because you want more time. It's true. No no I'M GONNA go. I'm correct correct. It's only in the summer I can't get it right in school. Always get it right on summer. Go with land. Okay ohka though. I prefer baseball cook at our back. Okay I want to read the Homerun. Reader boards fast detat at five. And then we're going to wrap up this podcast so reading the home win this year is Christian Yelich with thirty one Taifu Sackett is cody on. NPR Lonzo like Jon said force is Mug Trout. "The polling data from NBC had water f Mondo defeating Reagan forty seven forty one and in March of nineteen Seventy-nine, MRs win Renauld as Magnus one in nineteen eighty with a forty seven state landslide. They had Jimmy Carter defeating Reagan fifty two to thirty eight in March of nineteen exactly like this garbage that's out there today. And there are more examples of this. If we did even more research for this is just what we put together here on a flash. In a flash this morning when I got started on the phones Cupertino California, Stephanie, great to have you with us. Hello. Hi, how are you? I'm great. Thank you. I'm really happy to hear you talking about having President Trump come to Cupertino or anywhere in California. He needs to come and highlight what's going on out here. They tried black night. They told us to not leave or use electrical outlets. Like our TV's are washing machines are air conditioning, because of the they're worried about fire. They don't have enough electricity. They told my nephew and Rippin that they need they are probably going to have Brown outs out there in the central valley. Let me ask a question quickly were you part of the heat wave that hits the, the bay area and all the way down the, the, the coastline? You have. About one hundred hundred one hundred two yesterday and the day before we under roundabout today, we're supposed to be up in the upper ninety. You think they were told to do that? I doubt it and they're just thrown throw from my house. Right. Of course they have their own. They have their own electrical system. There has probably office building anyway. Well, it's, it's I do think there's a there's an opportunity to make the case in California for what Trump believes in. And so, in addition to all the pointing out of the problem with California, I'm glad you like the idea. Thank you very much. Stephanie, we've gotta go back. Just..

"Jax. I think you saw the in Snooker Jack. Excuse me I think so. I think the iconic are GonNa come away with this. I I got the iconic loves is going to be this'll be off unmatched. This'll be all these women go hard. She's going to hurt someone Anaya Jackson going to hurt someone too but those dinosaurs out of the way and you'll be good but yeah I think what we're going to see his Beth Phoenix do her finisher on Nyah Jax. I think that's what this whole matches built for is the one spot where Beth Phoenix is gonNA lift her up above her head and then smack around her face. You know whatever that finisher that she has called. I think that's what this whole matches for. Just that spot I cool Beth Phoenix is strong. Roman Roman reigns is going to be drew McIntyre who I don't know I don't know but I'm GonNa say Romans this madge. This story could have been told so much better. This could have been the most interesting story told old going into Wrestlemainia if they pulled her head out of there s just think about it from this perspective. This is a match were both guys are on their second chance both trying to vindicate that they're worth the second chance right. So you have drew McIntyre. He goes from the three M B. You know the Chosen One getting fired then coming back to W._B.. Going to the minor league system having to come his way all the way up from the minor league system winning that a championship bill getting onto the main roster proving himself as independent like viable star right so that's one story that you could tell right there. This is the second chance for drew McIntyre in all culminate at Wrestlemainia holy fuck who hasn't excited about that going up against Roman reigns who we all know the second chance of coming back from leukemia making sure that this is something that he can do you know vindicating all the supporters that he has that all of the prayers all of the letters all of the good wishes were not wasted in he can go into this match and he can vindicate for all of those supporters that he is worth that second chance. That's what you could tell him the story Jesus Christ that could be the fucking main event but you just did drew McIntyre's telling Roman reigns. You shouldn't done this because he's not ready who the fuck cares. This is why I'm telling you it's an indictment on the writers not the talent that could have been a fucking awesome awesome storyline now but it here and that's why I think Roman reigns wins because it's just there's Roman and speaking of one that's Kinda fallen somewhat flat also Shane McMahon versus. The MS falls count anywhere match. I mean I I feel like I'm not been terribly unimpressed with Shane. McMahon's Mansfield turned the way he comes across. He really seems like if I can prick. You really don't like but other than that like the rest of us just kind of like <hes> you know it feels very ma- it does feel very bad the only thing that I again because I think I can do it better than everyone else and you guys are probably tired of hearing. <music> but my podcasts I could say what I want. I I would make more Shane McMahon a guys. This isn't worth my time hit the way he delivers promos is so monotone and so- reserve that Brash cash like in your face Kinda thing. I don't think fits especially for a forty nine year old so I think if it was ms trying to Bait Shane into getting into this match I think it would have been a little bit better right like if Shane I dunno files. His nails feels like MS proved to me why I should kick your ass at Wrestlemainia like one of those kind of heels like a I'm better at this. I'll pay for someone to take care of you you know and MS coming from like fighting through all that bullshit to get the punch in the face on Ching McMahon. I think that would have been a better story than what they're telling here and I think again ms is awesome but Mrs Awesome when he's a full of himself jackass that you like kind of want to be friends with when he does the whole like Tisch is what we're here to do is to become the best we can be like now. Man Your douchebag just cool douchebag but that's Mrs winning this for that reason I mean it's plug city with all his you know what I mean like. The must see yeah in the middle of the day all of that yet him is wins triple. H Batista no holds barred with triple h career on the line so I think AAA twins because we're not seeing the last time AAA drizzles housing Teesta Lisa wrestles either. This is going to be a sh- MAS something I wouldn't be surprised randy. Orton gets involved in our Cao's flares out there <hes> yeah so somehow triple h doesn't lose or he wins NSA <laughter> right all right <hes> yeah I another one. Where is this kind of felt last minute and not enough meat to the storyline? I thought it was really cool. Though the the Promo that Batista did where he walks out in his hometown he just points to highlight package of of him beating triple age and then he says Hunter Kiss my ass perfect perfect. That was the best part of the whole thing from start to finish of this story that was great. Well no the the attack on Ric flair was that was actually this has been the best sense that yeah right because we've never seen kiss my ass and that's it and he puts on his stupid sunglass like that's what I'm saying debt going back to the MS Mitt now. Mrs and big and buff like Batista teased like kiss my that's a douchebag moved the Batista did but you kind of thought it was cool and that's where I'm saying MRS IRA baby face run should go a little bit more into is like he can show you the ratings for MS and Mrs and all that stuff and and be like you know Dana Brian Kiss my ass and then just goes on. That's where I'm wanting more of miss to do all right. Seth rollins is GonNa win. The Universal James Ship overbrook list who knows last year we thought Roman reigns was going to be brock listener and break listener beat them yeah because if Roman reigns beats drew McIntyre the next pay per view could be Roman reigns beats brock listener. "Liberal. December twenty ninth nineteen eighty-five. That was the date set for maybe pinko, Phil Donahue, and maybe propagandist. Vladimir pose ner to meet across the satellite feed with their audiences and with microphones in hand. And Gus Teleradio producer Pablo CRA Chagas was involved behind the scenes as always. So that has to be a live audience in Russia. But the main problem it has to be not by K JV people in in the Soviet Union in not by the party officials, but they have to be people regular people from the streets. Chugging resisted KGB efforts to select the audience he went with Donahue's team to factories and other places around Leningrad confound average Soviets. These people didn't know it. But they were about to take part in the most unpredictable space bridge ever. All the links, thus far had been an essence about the novelty of connection. They were technically difficult intense behind the scenes and more than a little stagey. But now the question wasn't whether ordinary Soviets and Americans could talk the question was what would they say? There were about two hundred and fifty people in Seattle to fifty in studio these Virk, which was then Leningrad, of course, still. And they began by screaming at each other. On just a moment. I was born in that area. And I very much like that city the city of quirky. I love that city. You miss it. It's a very nice. Written excuse me, sir. You missed the point. We are. Agreed. That Gorky is wonderful city. That is not the question. The question is why because someone dissents from Soviet policy are they immediately called a traitor that is offensive to Phil Donahue comes out punching. And I didn't stop. I was going to prove to the naysayers here in the states. That this was legitimate. That this was an honest broadcast. At some point. We were extremely angry at feel Donahue. Because he was pushing you know to these aggressive behavior on the part of the American side and people got frustrated like, oh, you invited us to be friends with Americans and the hating us. You know, what is happening? We wouldn't come. If we knew that it will happen like that the Soviet audience does look shocked and angry the American audience is looking it wielded. Then there's a remarkable moment. I'm a fisherman in Alaska, and I got a chance to meet some of your on American fishermen berates, the whole production wouldn't be also political, and we could get to know you. I think it's a bad way to start. I wouldn't have come here. If I would have known it was going to be this political. I thought I'd get to get a chance to know more of the Russian people this show, you've got to realize one of controversy of that's what they're trying to do now, and I really pill unfortunate, my which we can sit down and meet with Minnesota guy jumps in. Who? I just. Really took was that of my mouth doing? We've been told that for two and a half hours. We're going to speak three we're going to be very interesting and very speedy. But there's nothing interesting. I just want to get out of here. For brief moment. These two ordinary dudes have United both crowds against their telegenic masters. Pose ner Donahue. After that the conversation turns reasonable for a while. But. It doesn't last. To weaken have health protests without fear of reprisal from government. Authorities. Your government on your. Which still this week do believe in our government? Move doesn't put on our news privately produce, they can say anything they want because I was several times in the US aware of government. In fact, has declared an astonished me. Friend, Mike, how ill-informed Americans are your government. Mrs. Win. Call them. This night. The Slough at the pick. This low volatility. Which is wonderful speech is a great thing. But if nobody listens to that speech, then what uses free even some people in this country who feel that you will all serve as mouthpieces for the official party line because to do otherwise might earn. You a visit to a psychiatric hospital or perhaps a prison. Those in Vermont space goes on for hours and the two hosts they never flag pose ner and Donohue run up and down with microphones on different sides of the planet. They dish it out and the take it.

"I mean, he may be the next save. So you know, it's worse than that. What in two thousand seventeen vandy won one SEC game against Tennessee. Tennessee was Owen eight Tennessee fans. Forget you were two in six in the conference this year. Oh, an eight two years ago. I'll also note that Tennessee has only one two more games than Kentucky in the. The last six years and in that Kentucky also has a two and ten season. Vanderbilt has seven SEC wins the last three years three of them against Tennessee. See I this. This is why I enjoy facts Tony is in Las Vegas. How are things in Las Vegas? Yeah. How's it going? I'm not a big actually I live in Vegas, but on 'em to cities. Okay. Let me tell you. There's three reasons what Tennessee will never win another gender rich give him time. All right. Never one. There in Knoxville, you know, like you say before they were protected, and they got all those great accrues from 'cause it was only one of the ten or eleven programs ever put on TV on Saturday. So that's not a date. That's number one number two. Jeremy pruitt. Just not gonna happen. So he'll never ever be saving. There's no way and number three my sister's in Tennessee fan, and that's it just. Yeah. No team. That's go into title is. Your sister will be a fan of. I mean, your sister can't win a tidal. He's not even from Tennessee. See picks, Tennessee, I said, oh, hell, no. You just curse the poor? So right there. The west I wide list. I appreciate the call Tony. But I know recruiting base have to play Alabama every year too much to overcome. And Tony sister is a fan on the list that goes on the list. Let's go to rob in Florida. Go ahead. Rob. Hey, guys hopes their well just wanted to call in and talk about the the sixteens that you listed about. All right. I just wanna make sure I understand this krill. You're saying those the only injured have the the fam- bam firepower to hold up that Nashville trophy and our yacht at the end of the football season. That's right. Get your hopes in their boy. I don't think that the hogs will be in there. No. Okay. Just I'm looking forward. Some Arkansas fans owning and question you about that? But anyway. Tell you why have the six and thank you very much. I enjoyed that Robb. The reason I six Alabama showing they can do it Auburn show, and they can do it unless you show them. They can do. So there and Georgia has shown Georgia's not done it in a long time right there. So you know, they can do Florida that recruiting base means you can do it the sixth one I'm putting him in. Because even though they haven't won anything there in Texas. And right now, they're a better program than Texas. And as long as you're is in Texas with all of that talent, you're telling me that they can't put it together one year. I think they can I think the other eight teams vandy Kentucky, Missouri, South Carolina, Arkansas, none of those teams have been close enough to even really talk about it. Those teams even continued for their own conference division, Missouri's one two division titles. But they're still not been close enough to be in that national riper sation ole miss and Mississippi State have had a. A year where they were in the conversation, but not enough Mississippi State was actually number one one year. Yes. But I don't think there's enough to actually do it and put it together and win the title. And I think MRs won the west once I'm not sure Mississippi State has Tennessee is seven. But I've explained all the reasons so I feel very good six teams could win it in this playoff era. Eight teams cannot that doesn't mean the other eighteen can't beat those sixteens. They can't he won ten games this year. Yes. But winning the title, that's a whole nother thing..

"And we re do out his vision this history, right Scottie, Pippen's, not if you listened to Michael Jordan fan Scottie Pippen might as well just be anybody. Like, he's just like he wasn't a top fifty player while even talking about them. Right. And it's and it's been interesting to be alive for that. Because you know, before I remember, I'm old enough to remember when Michael Hatton windows titles, and I was a big fan. I was like he's going. Win championships. He's so good, and you know, older heads it was like all he ain't that Goodenough Dr J, you know, he he he wasn't even better than and they just name like all of these Oscar Robertson, we'll be doing this. And that was their Jordan's. Right. So now kids are you know, these kids now like they were old enough to normally see like Kobe yet. They're obviously LeBron now. But you know, a lot of them is like they stop it. No, Kobe's the greatest, right? You know and hour like, oh, if you can't do it like Kobe. You ain't good. You know? So it's just yeah. It's interesting. I runs in cycles like that. And also, I know for me before the Bob, Bob weir. Bob cat class Hornets was here, I used to love Chicago Bulls hours, like a big Chicago Bulls fan, I even had I don't know if you remember this does cool posters. They used to pick. What we haven't like each one on be like in nature. That's why when beat dribbling the ball won't be shooting the ball. And and it would kind of be all around the one oth because I had a postal I- dead. I used to do basketball. Trading cards. I knew like everybody on the team and Kip with the traders when I was a child, right? But with the trays and stuff like that. Because I was just because the bulls was the best MRs win the Chicago channel was district. I go channel. And so now when you go to Kanji WGN, and so now, I used to get confused of the way they converse your Congo channel now because I was like that's not the Chicago channel because me because those still exist. Yes, it's still exists. But I used to consider it always just the bulls or the cubs channel. I always associated with sports. I don't know if that makes sense that makes sense. But yeah, they show more than just sports. But right. Yeah. But I used to watch the Chicago White Sox that was that was my team when I used to like baseball and. I used to watch the Chicago Bulls because it was just like you could always count on their having every game. And we got it in Charlotte for some reason. So I was like, oh, I'm a bulls fan. And then we got the hunters is like oh fuck. Fuck them. Right. I gotta own shit. You know, gotta support these guys. Correct. And that's how it was for me. So it was a fun when he was talking to this going down memory lane of like, you say, it's a generational thing. Because like you say, you have a Kobe generation, and then you have no the generation which is like the LeBron James generate, but but like you, but it's interesting 'cause like I said there's a threshold now where the kids haven't seen Michael Jordan play. Yes, only tapes and video is so they haven't seen him play. So it's so even you might have seen a YouTube clip or something or they just heard enough people talking about it. But it's a different gap for them as opposed to you know, used to being a basketball discussion. Of course, everyone talking to Michael Jordan play how we have now meta generation where I'm like. Jordan was good. He was just an because I'm not a huge Jordan stand where I'm like he would have did air. He would have won the game. No matter. What like I'm not on my. No, he was like he was great. And also it was possible to be because I saw what happened. So I'm not gonna sit up here pretending like, nobody could be like, no, you could lose and say LeBron can lose Kobe can lose shack a lose like every great NBA player other than probably Bill Russell improbably and Bill probably I think Bill might allows Stu will once anyway..
