And they use that formula to uncover problems exist to the naked tie back problems that we as the provider or vendor can solve then be able to quickly share stories of success where we've been elsewhere to provide confidence that we can help them Now a junior person might be listening. how am i gonna do that. I've only been here five weeks. And i don't i don't stories will. That's your excuse. You're telling the story you're telling yourself and we love working with more or less experienced people. Because i'm like find. The people were doing well inside the company. Memorize their stories and make them your aunt. And they're not gonna. I'm not saying lightly client. I've never seen it but like you can just like microsoft late. Use example person excel is gonna be also talk about words gonna talk about share. Point is gonna talk about all your things. Mike shop does just because you were. Therefore it doesn't matter yet. Same mascot team colors in in the same company so make their successor successor. Another military veteran jumped to his death from the top of the hotel landing on a skylight below. There is maddeningly little information about these people other than how they died. Governor Asks Californians to Voluntarily Cut Water Use

"Governor Gavin Newsom is asking people and businesses to voluntarily cut how much water they used by 15%, Newsom says. Some are calling this a mega drought, Mrs. Jaw dropping What's happened in the West Coast. United States, reservoirs in California are rapidly emptying. The recommendations include taking shorter showers. Running dishwashers only went full and less lawn watering. Newsom's request is not in order when I want to underscore voluntary Water conservation. The governor says drought conditions go as far back as 2000 were hopeful that people will take that mindset that we brought into people of the state of California will take that mindset they brought into the last drought. And extend that forward Lake Oroville in Northern California is at 30% capacity. I'm Ed

"And the House, therefore, is currently conducting the people's business behind closed doors. The same time committee. Moon rooms remain closed for many members. Can't get people in to watch what's taking place. Think about this. Nancy Pelosi has led an insurrection. Ladies and gentlemen. She's led an insurrection. She's turned the The House of Representatives. Into San Francisco. Eva Nancy Perros ease own Little little Club. She controls the voting system. She allows proxy voting. She doesn't allow American citizens any real numbers to come in and watch their Congress at work to watch committee hearings. She has shut down the democratic process in the House of Representatives. His Phone, My Rival

"I remember those days when my eyes and fingers stay glued to my phone just exchanging tax with my beloved. The phone was my most valuable possession. I held onto it like a lifeline so whenever the network acted up i felt like i was drowning. Little did i know that my love lane could end up being my rival in the long run because of his busy work schedule most of our conversations were virtual and it was an acceptable alternative it was not ideal but i had to tolerate it whilst waiting patiently for the day we will start our lives together as mr and mrs the beginning was bliss. The honeymoon was just perfect. Our phones were on break and we finally had all the time in the world to connect face to face. I remember those moments like they happened yesterday. Holding onto his every spoken. Word like a respirator and never getting tired of watching his face. Mesmerized by every expression twitch arch smile or chuckle but it seems when our honeymoon ended. My hubby's phone resumed its duties as number one companion for the next three months or so. The phone was still a useful device in keeping the passion sizzling with check messages from time to time where the magic free words which never get old popping up on my phone screen at just the right time making me smile and feel all mushy like are gaining days. But when the texting began to wane so did our usual night talk's the catching up on the day's events whilst preparing dinner was replaced by he sitting in front of the tv and his fingers continuously tapping on his phone. What particularly gets to my nerves is when he simply replies. Oh it was okay. Nothing much. When i ask how his day without even lifting his head and look at me as he says it meanwhile chatting and laughing out loud when i tell him how much it bothers me. He makes me feel like the inconsiderate one job. He almost always needs to be online to keep himself up to date with the world's happenings year right. The world news is more important than his wife's feelings and though whatever belongs to one is for the other as well. Apparently that doesn't apply to his phone.

I'm doing the work myself because i enjoy it in between visits to other dimensions can be out there just doing a little landscaping operating little mini excavator. It's gonna be fun. Oh you're having an excavator delivered. Yes that's right. I'm renting one. Oh just for the week okay. So with that comes. While i'm away you can decide point. Just tell them to swinging around back rights okay. There were set up here in the lab. I'm gonna do my whole thing. I high i max. I'm an engineer and inventor and thing here is the bagel trying to thousand which i'm not gonna turn on just yet the bagel trying two thousand opens up portals to other dimensions have been traveling through these portals for over three years visited a hundred and fifty plus different dimensions. I want to say at this point. my log cured so there's been a few duplicates and Yeah it's somewhere in that ballpark. Something different worlds and yet. I'm sure i've just barely scratched the surface of all the different presumably infant dimensions. There are out there jack. Strobe here my roommate is actually from one of these other dimensions. As a the whole thing you can go back and listen to how that happened. But he's here now. And i'm looking up the on list here look right like why haven't turned the biggest two thousand yet the next patron that we want to give a shoutout to is somebody named fluker. Yes pflueger as an interesting name. It is rather unique. I hope you think nice thoughts about him. Because some of these haven't gone so well no they haven't. We did try the whole reverse psychology thinking. That went really poorly. So don't do that again. Nice thoughts so as i turn on the bagel. trying two thousand here in a minute. We're going to be saying out loud. Pflueger had thinking about our patron flu generous patron and hopefully the dimension that we go to somehow involve something good about that sound think. Someone's here. I'm gonna go check it all back in bit. Good luck on your trip. All right i'm going to turn sing on get going. We'll see when i get back. So turning on the battlefront two thousand. While i think about pflueger i'm saying pflueger and thinking good about the good things lugar googlers. Great lugar is the best. Amac's your bob. Cat is here. i'm just going to have him. Put it on the side yard. Oh yeah yeah. that's great. thanks all right. Two thousand is warming up again. He took pflueger. Puerto looks stable. All the rings the machine or nominal ready. I'm going through. Oh gosh wow okay hang on let me show my puerto here and then i'm gonna describe outdoors. Any birds die. You know. I do hear some mangy senate dogs in the distance but i appear to be in a very disgusting looking trailer park as a whole row of single wides laid out here in front of me in various states of extreme disrepair. I'm standing right in front of one heinous off. The roof is sagging a windows. I don't know if they've ever been cleaned. There's nobody around outside here. So i guess i'm just gonna head up to this closest one here and given a knock and see somebody's around you can learn a little bit about this dimension. Hopefully this whole dimension isn't like this. I don't know steps here and knock on the. Oh just just swung open okay. Anybody home hello There's no answer peaked. My head in. Here oh i think oh oh he hit it. Just hit me as a really not a great smell okay. But i'm looking inside. I think i see jack stroke. But he's is he. Hey are you. Okay hey oh. I think something may be wrong here. Okay the stroh sauce lifeless body. that's a still feels a little warm. Were where did it's not war. Remain alive but you should know. Kill them several days. Okay hollow graham jack strobe. I didn't hear you activate. No that wasn't shown. I watch the the crime. I read newer tech novels that the murderer often returns zia the crime. Not okay i for the first person i think back now. Okay therefore you are okay. And i called the rate first off not a murderer. I have never set foot in this trailer nor this entire trailer park before today before moments ago all those as our exactly whatever say. I'm sure it is okay. This is also. You appear to be strobe are you. Some kind of artificial. Intelligence officials don't l. k Are you actually gesture jober. Do you just look and sound exactly like Been hologram many of his memories as his last checkpoint which unfortunately was a month ago. But i do have most of his time doubt for mary's face plus knowledge thing. That's great. what should i call you. You can call me jack. Strove find jack strobe. I'm just gonna head out I don't think there's anything i can do here. Her the knock on the door opened up now if you ever year murderer i don't think this guy here even got murdered. Well then first of all. I'm going to need some facts first of all you name effects your name. What's your name name is max. Max max was that show for max. Essential for anything. Your names just. Max max can be bothered with more syllables. That's fine you over that one. The call yes. Jack strove the whole graham gastro as natural checks out. That's right. he's not. Actually jackson object strobe. Is this guy here. the right. So here's the thing. I was going to ask you if you had any sort of connection to the deceased but it would appear that you already. At least his name. How do you know the deceased name. Sir what'd you say. Your name was max. What's that short for. Max wait now. we did. This dance already. Haven't we the charles the hotel coup. You see what i'm saying. Pal is it. Max how do you know this. Man right yeah. How do i know this guy. When i did say earlier that i've never set foot on this trailer park nor in this very strong for yourself. That's what i told. Jester polygram here. So obviously i met jetro outside of the trailer park somewhere else. We used to work together was we were. Coworkers workers bud me first of all. Where am i. Man is second of all my name actually. This is probably seventh of all. Because i've done a few things. But since i came in here but regardless of what number it is the name is dirk dirk pflueger. Oh excellent detective pflueger perfect yet. Detective works too friendly thing. But you know what i can be bad cop. It's alright this is great a respected member of the local community. I'm so glad you're here because obviously what's happened here is this hologram has confused me for somebody else. I've never been in here before. I was coming here to meet the locals and to check out the local scene and i knocked on the door and it was open and this guy was just here unfortunately deceased so blessed with all of the deceased memories up to about a month ago it's loosely. Drew that max of jack. That's lease a lot onset. They were in a sales. I should say we were stable organization together and jack myself basically stole a bunch of clients from match max mad thing not a theft investigator or fraud investigator. Really a good thing. I'm not any of those. I only specified justin murder. So even if you confess to like any number of crimes today doesn't matter anyway. You're dead continue. So in addition to seal the number of max clients the best terms. Well nothing illegal about that. Last part i did not murder him though. Listen archie gonna like look for evidence or something. I think you'll find that. There's no evidence here that i committed any crime. Well first of all sunny. I wanna let you now something you probably already as everybody knows the first three rules of motor investigation. That's right location. Location location those the rules of real estate and your in the location that i'm in right now which means you're on the location of the dead body. I just wanted to touch base with everyone in my location before i started investigating my location. That's right rule number two location now. We'll get to number three. After i finished examining the location. Is this murder investigation. Is this real estate. It'd be surprised. I often the crossover. Now here's the thing sunny boy. I'm gonna need you to give the facts. Jack. that's right. the facts two of 'em specifically on facts. I wanted to give me something. That's not if that that's something that delight. i want to give me true truths. I don't wanna give me lie. Doesn't have to necessarily be in that order. In fact it's a lot more fun if it's not hanging you said santa boy and you also said jack are you talking. Which one of us were you talking to all right jack in the colloquial sense your jack. Not jack okay. It's also a little confusing because he keeps popping his hologram around the room. Kind of just seemingly randomly chevy stranded like throw me off balance. I appears you are armed straight. I on on low point a gun at your right now. Hey click sound that. We all heard just now wasn't enough to see new. Don't as me bro. listen. I'm gonna slowly take off my backpack through and weapons. What i would add. Is there for self defense. Only i'm setting it down. You can see had no other weapons. I'm not holes during anything we lift up my shirt. Oh wow in fact. I would've asked feed and not do that actually. Wow that's okay. well. I don't really need to see the bag now. Obviously not a threat out law to facts and in fact that's right son sunny boy sunny jack sunny. Just sorry i'll stop saying can fusing because he's jaclyn. You're jack you know what i'm saying. Third base. i'll call you jeremy. You okay with that max Short sounds great. Go ahead jeff. Okay sure fact number one. I am from the city of seattle. Sounders made up but go on fact or maybe not fact number two. I'm recording this whole conversation. That's felony Fact or possibly not fact number three is that i am a professional wrestler right. Now i'm not gonna guess which one of those is alive. Make sure that's clear. I'm just entering all of these into evidence. Now if any of this ends up being used in court and proving a detriment to the prosecution case you'll be fine and prison basically ally investigate that age. Old tactic called entrapment background. Check him and find the wasn't special wrestler. Say wow boylans like honestly can be any number of those. He's real good at this game. But here's what i wanna know maxi boy. That's right. jeremy. Mr travis boy. Here's the thing. What is that hold on the refrigerator. Handle this yeah. I see it as a smudge. A duck smudge looks like some kind of greece on the inside of the refrigerator handle jack but you know anything about this snow. I literally just walked in. Jack jack jack. The one that goes and i can see i around paper. Well that's is that it's not gonna happen any then let me just skirt that different part of the handle it all right Listen to him just showed up here. Maybe we should like. I dunno go to the neighbors and see if any of them saw anything well i was going to make a bit of a more thorough investigation. The contents of this fridge but a pretty much everything. I need to know by now. This cottage cheese shouldn't be this keller. I'm interested in knowing the neighbors of scene because they saw you coming. Maybe they saw going. You know what. I'm saying you probably. That's all right well. I'm just going to walk out the front door here. It's important to get a good smell surroundings. Hey wait a minute. That dollar game. Follow us out of the trailer. Whatever did you like activate upon his death. You knew how long he's been dead for would add as two and a half days. Couldn't have been meek. Because i just showed up. Well can you prove your absence grooving negative. That's another classic law enforcement technique. Ask him to prove a negative. They never can just like you can't right now. Say what's up nope. That's a raccoon. That's just the shoe. i think that's i'm sure that if you speak to the neighbors and the other surrounding trailers none of them will have seen me lough our next door. Who don't mind me interrupting you sir. But obviously you're man coming in and out of your neighbors house recently in the last couple of days does he have. Is this your watch. What i don't know know. I've never seen this guy before my wait a minute. You kind of millions. Talk hussein. sucks out that you look like this guy here. It's hologram year. You look a lot like him for like old wrinkly and gray suspicion seems a little suspicious itself them at. Can't you see that man in there. Who seems to be slightly transparent. It's probably just the drapes obviously has long. Yeah okay so you noticed. I think that's another hologram. Oh i just madrid. Give people the benefit of the third a bother. You say you need to your. He's a fraudster. What's reported to the landscaping crimes. Yeah that's right. This guy only does murder so there. We should be back with you in about a month now to the business at hand. This particular grizzly marta. The man inside that trailer right there. He's dead. I know crazy right now. She's still watching us through the window. I mean it's a big window. I you don't usually see bay-windows like that on mobile homes you do you. Hey you seem like you're living your best life. I don't think he's living any life. I'm telling you he's a hologram. There you can do it. Sturdy admits that he is allah. Graham who's gonna take me flesh and blood human or these holograms whole auster. That's right also. Have you taken a look at this long. It really does look needs mode does not my problem. That's landscaping crafts departments problem. Now i want you to really grasp and just take in the gravity situation. Meant that gentleman is dead. His goose is cooked. Yeah i understand. Ganders been pandered i understand. I'm the one who discovered the body. Now you just you discover the body. That is a real fun way to say it's not fun. It wasn't fun it's reached in there. I don't understand how you didn't seem to notice it at all just walked right in there. Listen here sonny. I've smelled death more times than you could ever dream okay. It's dark and it's changed me as a person. Listen we got to get ourselves back into that trailer right now and investigate the premises just a little bit more. Okay fine now really wreaks it yet. You heard mashed always gets his man and you sir. Are that man. Unless as i suspect you yourselves are in fact another hologram chest. Why why have. I just like that. Oh well that's the easy part of police works on terminating. Whether or not a person standing right in front of you is or is not a hologram. Listen i didn't murder. Kamala Harris, in Guatemala, Discusses Plan to Deter Migrants

"Is in Guatemala today. If the start of her trip is any sign yesterday, Air Force to had to turn back after take off for a safety check. The assignment is going to be a challenge. Mrs Harris first foreign trip Mission, President Joe Biden gave her find ways to reduce migration to the US by improving conditions in Central America. One of the big challenges in the region is how ineffective governments there have been at solving the simple, grinding problems of daily life in their countries. Speaking from Guatemala City today, Harris said she and Guatemalan President Alejandro Geometry talked about a key issue Corruption on the issue of corruption. Uh, the conversation that I had with President Janet Today was very Frank. And very candid, and I think this is a quality that he and I appreciate in each other. Following all of this is Adrianna Beltran with the watchdog group, The Washington office on Latin America. She said Harris is right to focus on corruption. And unfortunately, over the last several years, what you've seen across the region, including Guatemala has been a backlash against anti corruption, anti impunity efforts and increasingly actions by corrupt elites to undermine democracy and the rule of law. So as long as we're on the subject, explain in simple terms how corruption actually reduces the impact of USA to Central America. When we talk about corruption in Guatemala in Central America, we're not talking about a few bad apples, a few corrupt government officials that accept bribes But what we're talking about is systems that have been put in place where corrupt elites and in the case of Guatemala, increasingly tied to criminal groups have taken hold the government institutions And have used their positions of power to enrich themselves by embezzling millions of public funds at the expense of the majority of the population. You know,

"And as promised. Here is the exciting conclusion of the nice berry farm story so i was hired to do. I was hired basically. I did the same thing where you go in and do a cattle call kind of audition kind of thing for for knotsberry. Farm halloween haunt. And you're hoping to be a monster. I have you something. Yeah there's a video that is so funny. And i've talked about it on another show It's a. It's i talked to my wild horses but it's a youtube video of people auditioning to be scary at knott's berry furrow knotsberry farm or whatever and it's like the halloween thing and it's the funniest thing ever. It's it's like need to see that it's so like give them masks or anything or is ill so walk up to this acts on the floor and just you know screaming. It's so good in. Some people take like a really serious bizarre. I love it so much. I don't know why didn't get the job to be a monster. In less i was to la-. I mean it seems like because my best friend got to be a monster so it was very bizarre that unless unless he got the job as a monster and it's like hey they're still looking for people and then by the time i applied they were like we only need security people at this point but you probably just had that. Breyer bear energy. Yeah so that they are like you could do security. Actually maybe they heard about you from disneyland. Like this guy's going to get lost. If you put a mask. Well so my friend he were. He was a monster in kingdom of the dinosaurs which was an old ride at knott's berry farm and so he was. What monster was he at. Kingdom of the dinosaurs kingdom of the dinosaur every ride was obscured to end made halloween fide so wasn't kingdom of the dinosaurs during halloween. But that was the. I don't know put like witch hats on the dinosaur. They had to share one passenger so he was a monster in kingdom of the dinosaurs. And i was line security in front of kingdom of the dinosaurs where i would basically be like essentially in the hot people. Essentially halloween haunt. I just any girls here. Ladies in there so bro. Honestly paul it is not that far off from that but it it it started as because everyone just wants to cut the line constantly and so it was literally so you're constantly going like hey you know when people coming up to you going behind me. They were they they just walked into the line. And you have to go over and arcs and go i get outta here. You know so. That's that's basically all. I did during halloween haunt but my friend was working as a as a monster inside the right that i was working at so what he would do. And he's like this in this incredibly good looking guy right well sure and so he would basically what would happen is if a car would come through with hot women who are age. He would take off his mask to show that he was handsome. Jump in their car and then why should chat them up. Whichever one he was interested in and say. Hey let's go out. my friend. Scott is working as as a line security guard at the front of the so go. Give give your number to him and he'll pass it on to me. That was his system. And i don't know why i acquiesced to it because i never benefited from it. I the one time that he ever asked me. If i wanted to go on a double date. I went to his apartment and the two girls arrived and we sat down. We talked for a while and then he said okay. Let's go when i stood up and the girl who is supposed to be on the day with me looked at me and said oh you're coming to so that was a. She thought she was on a double date with her friend and this guy is hoping to threesome what this really good looking guy promises. My friend arthur funds early. Maybe she thought she just win. Out right yeah. Look so so i would basically be fielding dates for him. I do remember he. He had esposito. He had a cool like maude. Vespa scooter and cut up pretty cool. I gotta say i'm jealous. One time he got a date with me give him my number. I know his lawyer chicago but he had a coup vespa scooter. In one time that was to like the the girl that he asked out lived an hour away off the four. Oh five freeway and so. He needed me to drive him because that was too dangerous to take the scooter on so i drove him in sat there. Well i ki- took the girl into the bedroom. And i just watched i remember watching the bengals walk like an egyptian a couple moments in my life for i was just waiting for people to fuck. I can't remember exactly what happened but i. I know that happened to me where i was like. I'm in a car and they're over there doing something and i'm supposed to wait for my friend to get out like just so weird i've been on. I've been on in situations like that. Where i'm like waiting for my friend to close the deal on a plane and you know it's not gonna happen. You know what i mean and this is what am i doing here. I heard a friend on a date once in this was when we were adults but she was visiting here and she met a guy online and then i drove. I think what happened was he came to my show or something that they both did. That's how they like met up. And then i drove them to some like second location and then picked her up at the end. It was so random. Wow yeah we do too have sex. I wanted her to have sex. Can you say well the final punch line of the of the knotsberry farm story is is that we were only working there for that month right for for all of october and your last day was halloween and so my friend and i my my monster friend and i called in sick on halloween. Which was like the guys after living doing that for a whole month. The guy answering the phone is just like so pissed. And just like honey. You're sick and you're like. Oh yeah i can't make it tonight and then we ended up going to the park because so does so kid like you know like how. We're i want to go hang out. I think you we found the entrance. Where if you dressed in all black. They assumed you were a monster. The employee entrance and they would just not check anything. Just let you through..

"I think that story you're thinking of is is we used to have. Essentially the shifts were You do ten minutes on ten minutes off fifteen minutes on fifteen minutes off. You would never do more than thirty five minutes. That's not bad. Yes so because he was just brutally hot out there in california this summer in these costumes. So thirty five minutes was the longest. You're supposed to do and what usually do is you'd be backstage. And you'd come out your entrance and exit and entertain people by that entrance and exit and then go back the way you came when you're when you're handler would say okay. That's thirty five minutes but every once in a while there were these shifts that they called walkabouts or something where you had to start at one entrance and your shift was. You would y you walking to another backstage area in a different land so you would start on main street and then walk and entertain people as you were wide. Tried to catch a few people that way. Because i want my took my nephews to disneyland. I was very dedicated to getting their autograph book signed They didn't really care that much about it. But when i was little. I really cared about that. And i still have my autograph books when i was little and so i was like. I want to resume anybody. We see. i'm getting it. But they're they're on a mission to get away from you basically grown and chasing them going. I i gotta talk to you. Like i need a stroller. Like a block away kennedy habits and you could have just taken a pen and signed it goofy. It's about how they do it. Individually each one has their own signature But yeah so so those were only supposed to take you the thirty minutes or whatever to get from one place to another and your handler wouldn't come with you because they were just hanging out by the entrance so the handler would greet you when you got to the other entrance but on this particular day in of one thousand nine hundred eighty eight superfund hod. It's like a hundred and something degrees. I'm sweating so bad now. Maybe probably do. I hear one of four looking at one hundred ten. It felt inside. But i got i got lost in the park. I couldn't find where i was supposed to go. And i got lost and i was out there for ninety minutes. Which is so much longer than you were supposed to do. Especially back then. And i'm just dripping. Sweat and kids are doing what you were doing. Lauren which is like trying to grab me. So i don't get away and because they want to take pictures and i'm like blurry i just like stopping and trying to wave and take pictures release scary and i found myself and if you know the geography of disneyland i found myself out by. It's a small world. And i was supposed to go to new orleans square. Which reddit thread. Who knows who is a digital and digital each shares you. Here's me even though defending you defend her paul lever. Anyway so i'm out in the middle of it's a small world and i've just basically given up. I'm just standing there in place while kids kids death. I'm just looking for an exit. I can't find any exit and suddenly someone grabs my hand and says there you are rare bear and i looked to my left and it's a handler and they'd been like on a search looking for me for that. Sounds so fun for the last hour. Because i'd never reported back where i was like if i were them i'd be like oh. This is exciting day happening over here. Because i don't know if you're going to be like you're gonna catch your head drinking a beer down in the doesn't happen more often. People just taking their head off going. Fuck this and like throwing like kobe. Bryant style taking their jets guy who stole the two beers and went down the slot. That's pretty great. Where's he news man. I hope he's somewhere wonderful. I hope he wires. I love that forever much. I love him such a good. I yeah anyway so that was it. So i was. That was that was. Probably when i was like fuck this job. I don't think. I want to come back to it. Which was as easy as never calling in to get your schedule ever again. I'm sure right. I what's so funny to me. Is that you're playing. This character from a cancelled movie like at that point. They they definitely point had been like they locked that movie away Yeah even though. They were still making splash mountain and all that kind of context for kids when they see breyer bear. Nothing him you have no context and i don't think it's like one of those things just go. Oh yeah he's from one of those movies like you just like kinda put him in the robin hood sort of characters. I wait. I have an update on the blue guy. He lives between mexico and san diego and he had a job at seaworld has to nine hundred. Nineteen ono Do we like him. So i don't know why you would go work at seaworld after that documentary came out maybe because of his prior word. Why are you. you're.

The Bourne Identity (2002)

"Hey everybody welcome to another prestige podcasts. Where we perhaps are stretching the definition of prestige I think so. I think this is a prestigious action film anyway. The bourne identity. This is a two thousand two movie directed by doug liman who you might recognize director of swingers. Mrs smith jumper edge of tomorrow american-made. He's the son of a bitch. Made us watch american made. We got all hyped up tom. Cruise in and mister bourne identity in its turns out that was very aggressively average flick. But but he's he's made a couple of good action movies as you can see here. After this paul greengrass over and helmed the rest of the borne trilogy is based on a screenplay written by tony gilroy who you might recognize as the screenwriter of rogue. One devil's advocate. Literally every jason bourne film also wrote and directed michael clayton and william blake. Herron who. I don't even know why his credit for this like only got one other movie credits he's credit created as the co writer. So i guess he did stuff here. He came into some rewrites. Because a studio like lots of this is a. I had no idea. This is such a troubled film making process. They're much butting heads. We'll we'll get to that. I'm sure is based on the bourne identity by one robert ludlum. If you're a. Tom clancy fan. You know. absolute thought robert ludlum is if you're a kid growing up in eighties. "Neuro positive when he means the new positive on. I've always been positive. I'm just pointing out now. Hangs stay positive on. We all like when you're happy. I I always. I'm happy next up in the pig and she's a sad sath quit. She's Bonna what do you have I today. Well allow me to pose a question please. Do what's the worst part about sports playing them or watching them watching them watching them. I think there's a overabundance of ads in a safer not invested in the players sport. You don't care and sometimes sometimes they're blowouts. which can you know if it's your fits your team? I suppose it's fun but you know a a super bowl that's Forty seven isn't fun to one exactly so all these sports lately have really been. I'm getting me thinking about you. Know we all gather together to watch these sport games like it's the modern day coliseum But you no. It's really like sports. There's so many things can go wrong. You know the people get hurt. People are sitting out on the sidelines. For Vermont's your favorite players which is team all. You never know what's going to happen. Your favorite team loses over and over again. There were the drama moods though. Isn't that the excitement. Well not really That's where my Proposal comes in My proposal is that sports should be casted and acted out lake a ballet more like like or light in professional national wrestling They should be choreographed. This the star should be like we should know more about their lives and they're like personal lake Stories and they should be like it should they should be written. They should be scripted so they could be even more interesting. What about the rigged? Yeah they should be rigged but they should be choreographed and scripted. Lend you lose the whole bettering industry good and on top of it. These people well that train their whole lives to you know win at something now. It's being decided by some Ju writer. It's almost kind of like globetrotters a little bit. Maybe Yeah Harlem globetrotters indeed. No it's like a play right so everything's choreographed so it's like yeah we are the outcome com. WWe everything query graph. They like figure it out. That's the ADS. It is real. You're into their. They're not finished result. Yeah they know the finisher Zoll and then they improvise their way to that result and not right. I don't think you can in choreographing a whole football game seemed super hard while they do they choreograph entire ballet. But they're doing a eh every Sunday they're going to have to learn and that's why they should still make a lot of money they should stake. It's still something they have to be physically fit for your still in Athle- Fli scripted. That could be fleshed out and so is it so the Games are closer. This is so that the games run run on time. This is so away from me. There's less injury but you can injure yourself Being a ballerina. Can you not right. And there's less injuries. Are Men called ballerinas tours. Okay I think Johnson interesting. Do we have a name for this concept the concept okay for all the sports. You're taking your football your basketball your baseball your soccer. Yeah Oliver the court for Yeah I think it deserves its own league right like the XFL like the ballerinas you can call it. It's not ballet. Okay they're not doing ballet it's just like they're doing their sport but it's it's choreographed and scripted. Men There's drama and intrigue Vojka Soap Opera. Yeah they're more interesting than what would happen when you run a play. That's almost like a choreography though. Is it not I guess but you don't but anything thing can happen. This is a controlled. Outcome is important of fun that anything can happen. maybe for some but like I understand that you want ought to be contrary and this is part of that Jeff but just suspend your disbelief for a moment and imagine a world. You could go to the perfect basketball very it's going to be three pointers going to be donkeys. There's GonNa be a fight. They're going to be pulling the jerseys. There's going to be someone screaming. There's going to be like if someone runs on the court. There's going to be all the greater things. So you're sort of combining the circus world with sports. Yes exactly David. We went to the circus just the other week yeah amazing these Trapeze artist especially Apple Apple Circus in at Times Square that in Columbus Circle Center elephants. Now they don't horses cats at add house cats. They do tricks tricks with the yarn essentially ladders and south or the high flying within. Yeah they're not going to high fuel efficient. Do the elephant doesn't go to the circus anymore. I'm just saying even when they did. What's the appeal of the elephant? Stand on his mind learning con- you know now but you know people like to see these are really doing tricks on a time lag for sure it does but upload peanuts and the crowd maybe Oh seen the Hugh Jackman movie movie Mr Showman. Show two the peanuts in the crowd. We'll probably peanuts and the elephants nose mouth isn't.

"Would be my. Yeah that's my ex. So during its development there were a number of showings of fi musical. That people got to see Believe it was in Seattle at least the Seattle Times covered it because they asked a number of transient on binary folk to talk about their impressions of it and and they. I will link in the description where to find this but again that's through the Seattle times and all of them had very like fairly positive memories of Mrs this is doubtfire and Missouri going into see the show and Ooh the reviews are not not happy so there are some like probably my favourite was just a very simple answer of why here why now easy money any reaction. My reaction was watching these moments and thinking. Wait who was in the room when that choice was made Yup and I and now when it goes in and even from this moment when it was in Seattle again I got to double check that but in the moments that these folks are able to watch watch the current production of it. There was a chance that a lot of changes have been made even from previews when previews happen. That's the point of previews is it is supposed to be as close to done as possible. And then if there are major things that need to happen they can tweak it a little so my hope for for it is they put it up and there are some major major major things the other thing that they can do. That is an easy fix. Even though this is different from what you've mentioned which is just scrapped. The whole project and I agree with that would be throwing a trans person literally just follows him around and says no bad stop that yeah. This is garbage. Entire Horace transpeople. Yes great chorus of Trans People just saying this is bad and this is not good. Yeah yeah and I think like recasting all of the other like the other characters. The sort of satellite characters in the movie as as transpeople people would be great. If at that bar. The person who likes she was down. Mrs doubtfire offer of drink is trans. I think that could actually be like no we as a community totally reject you and what you're doing with this. We will not take a drink from you. You need like Doc. Stop disrespecting we are yeah no and you know like that's the thing. Obviously you and I both work in theatre so we don't necessarily want to like you know there are real people that have put time and effort and money behind a production and there's always a chance that we could work with one of them in the future but I want to acknowledge that it's like all right. This says maybe not the best idea and I am still hopeful much like I was walking into the movie. I am hopeful that when it goes up and it does its thing that will have done the work. Yeah but I don't know if it will. I just think there's so much work to do view because it's like you have to address the trans-phobia but I think you also have to address its portrayal of women and I think you have to address the racist. Caricatures that Robin Williams does at times. And I think you have to address the way presents a homosexual couple. I just feel like once you've addressed all all of those things you have something that's no longer Mrs doubtfire which I say awesome but like then it's just like why don't you just do a play written by trans transportation like it'll be better I admittedly. I haven't googled. Who did the book the lyrics and the music for it but from what I understand it from what I've been hearing they're assumed to be suspen off? I could be wrong. I'll double check right now. Is We're talking but yeah I mean it's it's I do. Think like on the issue of work. I'd think work done and I think the I think work needs needs to be done. I think that The musical heathers is actually kind of a good example of that. Because and it's a it's a much different issue but I think when when I when I saw the movie heathers which was much much later in my life. I was struggling with these sort of blow up the school aspect of it because I grew up in the era of Columbine and then since then I've seen these school shootings happened in the news and all of that and it's just that school violence did not feel like something that could be funny to me anymore and I feel like when the musical came out it actually understood that and understood that our society has shifted in ways. Is that like a key punch line of this movie cannot be like. Oh you know we'll blow school or whatever it's it has to be something that it actually shows that were replaced. I feel like that musical actually did So I that that of of course is a different issue than a transphobic text. But I think it does sort of suggest like okay think realistically thickly about the material you have and the society. You're putting it into. Yeah so I'm looking at. Who wrote the Book Etcetera Etcetera So I don't know enough about John Farrell The British author and comedy Scriptwriter Okay and Kerry Kirkpatrick And again we always be wrong but at the same time. None of them openly. Id as transit on binary and it is a thing where unfortunately you kind of have to. If you're going to write about these things and or at the very least I don't want to commit to that I don't want to commit to you have to be in order to write about but at the same time it is all men on this team and I it had home and all white men so so I just I. Don't you have a lot more working against you in order for me to really trust. Yeah I think is what I think. That's more of what it is. Do I trust you to do the work and until I see the work I won't know but immediately I'm just like okay. Okay do we know. How do we know how to see? Did I mean I guess my question. The reason I ask that is because like these these people who are pushing MRS doubtfire. Are they just like. Oh well. You Know Tizi did super well. And I don't know if it has but like if it has oh Tutsi did superwealthy so clearly like there's just a minority of people who don't like this humor and most people do they're fine with it and so we'll just do it and make a buck off it or whatever mm-hmm well I will say The article that I saw which is admittedly from variety so you can take take utterly that but they mentioned specifically the tootsie musical based on the nineteen eighty. Two film was critically acclaimed but didn't hold up at the box office so again. That's not a Specif- against my sources variety. I don't know how well that holds up. Lack that is that is a take and honestly it did not last super long even though at one like I know that the the main character who played to see I didn't see it. I don't know the name. The the Tutsi is an actor that I really enjoyed so it is one of those things. I'm very happy that he wanted to Tony. But I'm very sad. He wanted Tony for that. Yeah I hear that so now that we now that we've effectively burned all of our bridges feeder community. And we're we've got a fiction collection coming out next week some poetry and maybe a comic so so let's say let's get to the answers. Let's get to the questions rather yeah I love it transphobic. Now you can answer this by making a noise you can put it on a one to ten and scale however you want to describe it just is Mrs Doubtfire transphobic. That come through because that was my guy I start art and my gun just means yes emphatically. Yes it's transphobic absolutely definitely on my end Eh. Excellent then we'll get nice fart sound effects. What I'm talking about this movie? Yeah Yeah it is. TRANSPHOBIC acted bones My answer is I'M GONNA give it a about an eight eight ten and say that he and More than I thought it would be more than I remembered. I Miss Remember this movie as being better than this. Who Yeah and wasn't enjoyable? I mean I pretty much already answered that but to express that how you will but I have only one fart gun to give no. It wasn't enjoyable at at all it. It's it's it was really sad. Actually I mean the roller coaster was from just like Oh. I don't like this to like this. Actually making me think of things I don't want to think about two two also feeling which you expressed which was i. I really am struggling with my love of this which I also had like. I WANNA be clear like I. I went into it with the exact same settings that you did which was just like. Oh this is the thing these fond memories of and now it is this just total monster and I am. I'm struggling with that. I the only thing I can say I can say can say with was. I'm sure this is what I connected with as a kid which was that the end note of like the family will come back together and there's many types of families and and they can all operate differently? Which is something that Robin William's character says although it doesn't seem to be something the movie actually believes it probably made me feel good growing up in a household where my parents clearly did not get along? I hear that and I do applaud it for not having the two of them get back together but at the same time I kiss movie no any anyone but them like and then he yells at her like. Oh and you let the judge do that to me. It's like yeah fucker Yeah Hell Yeah Fucker I. I would've done that too right like and if you and I wouldn't have hired because like any positive messaging that one might be able to dig out of this. This movie is poisoned by so much of it including the fact that like it is totally okay at even funny to poison the person. Your ex-wife ex-wife is dating so long as you're drunk when you do it and you know the Heimlich well enough. Yeah which also oh I know that. They stated in the beginning like Oh like she's going through the resume Oh you know the Cetera et Cetera. And of course. They're doing that as a way to to plant for later when he does do that that he knows the Heimlich and he knows all these links. CPR does he dunes a voice. Like I'm not saying voice. Actors can't honestly actors of all types like I know how to do CPR. I know how to do the Heimlich. But it's just like do I have have no problems believing that actors are actually very good at at CPR and maybe anything sort of medical. I have problems believing that this guy who were told is as a fuck up in like every other way knows that like he was like you know what I haven't paid my taxes in twenty years but I'm going to that first aid course like I I don't get it Ho okay. I think we've talked about everything we need to talk about with this movie. Thank you right so now that we've burned all of our.

"I mean I'm almost certain of it. You know it's it's the Steven Tyler of aerosmith thought thought that the lead singer of Motley crue was a woman at a Bar And then when he turned out to be the lead singer remotely crew decided to write a song about like that. Sort not great and you know like like its honestly era of heavy metal music like not aerosmith with Motley. crue is fascinating because there is that like whole sub-genre of folks that are like a manly men who wore makeup and did a bunch of other things. Were sort of like embracing femininity in a weird way. But we're also oddly misogynistic. But yeah we're not talking about that. We're talking about Steph. Papa's got a brand new bag is another one like there were a couple that I don't actually really impressed by. They literally found the era of Google. Any song that mentioned gender really at all and just figured jammed. And that's that's fine. I I was half expecting it. I don't know if it came out before the song or if it came after the song but I was just like all right Wednes- man I feel like a woman come in. I know I know there who owe the other the other big note that I wrote down was when they meet Mrs Says Doubtfire The Sun. Forget his name but Boy Child he says. Jeeze your big for lady you could play for the forty niners right. Of course. Yeah and then she had been that thing about. Oh well I did play European football okay. Okay soccer soccer right right that and he's Oh there's this one moment and it's equal parts. Brilliant is stupid is when the social worker comes home Sees Mrs Doubtfire and is essentially like and she and Mrs Doubtfire goes like. Oh yes my on. My brother Danu a new accidents. I've actually enjoying it. I like your versus more than I liked the movie. And so you know Mrs doubtfire brings her up. And and she added like as they're doing this Daniela's getting out of the MRS doubtfire attire. And just literally making as many puns and this is another moment. I don't know if This was Robin Williams. riffing as he is literally ripping off all of this like older women skin fat suit and like body. Things things like this is this is kind of like a weird. It's not like because of that because he's making all these jokes. There's so many puns. Yes so many tons like rapid fire. It's just ooh and then. He makes a Norman Bates reference Yes it's just like God fucking dammit everything. I mean the the the thing about that moment that I I did laugh at was after he gets that stuff off off and she wants tea or something because it's and so but she wants like Mrs Doubtfire to make your teeth so so he tries to get it all back on but then the mask pulls out the window and his run over by a garbage truck so his solution to this is to go to the kitchen without her seeing him do that and then stick his face into a cream pie and then like pop up and yes. We all remember that from the previews and and that's the solution. And I was like well. I don't like the messaging of this movie but as somebody who has been in tight spots before I've never depths my face into cream pie but I could certainly see me doing something equally as stupid. That was going to be my follow up question. Have I ever tastier cream pie. Yes have you ever. You mentioned being in these type of suggestions suggestion so okay I need like you know. I don't now desperately trying to see your children after your wife withheld them. After the divorce you had to create an older woman persona in order to do like you forget an assignment in school. So you see I thought you were GonNa GonNa say so you invent a female older than you. Then since you're gay brothers to create a fat suit for you so that you can further deceive of your teacher yes okay. No very clear about this. Never do that ever do that. The dipping of the face into the cream pie. Maybe any one thing doing it for two reasons not good. Who trying to think if there's anything else that needed to say from this? Oh fuck the reveal when the sun when the sun walks honestly that's what that's literally the last note I made because that's the moment I stopped taking notes So when it was happening as it was about to happen and I was like oh I do remember this. I did too and it was just like Ooh all of it is super painful. I I mean and that scene feels to me like the apex of all of the movies bathroom scenes and I and they're they're certainly trying to play it for laughs and they're certainly trying to to make it seem so tense because you know what are People GonNa think and But knowing today how many quote unquote bathroom bills are on the floors of state. senates all over the the country And how how that space is police. wrongly by TRANSPHOBIC. Legislators is this makes that moment it just destroys me. Yeah so that's the point of the movie completely. We lost me and I just like I literally got out of bed and just turned on the Messenger and started playing that and look to make sure there was nothing else that I needed to see like. Okay okay remember. This is standard fare. But yeah yeah exactly. Yeah I just the the the only thing I could say about that moot about that specific part That's not Going to just make me depressed. Is the urine looks really realistic. I guess it was really yellow like usually I just have water bottle and well. I think it also says that Robin Williams really needed to drink water. Yes yes exactly I do not care what Genitalia Ali had just please remain hydrated. It's important as none of our business but it is our business that you stay hydrated. Yes exactly But but what I think is interesting. What's really important about what you're saying and how to is? Is there moments in this movie like that. Where if you are anyone under the gigantic transgender umbrella of any see those moments like they are genuinely heartbreaking? Like the just on a level that I think is really hard to explain to. Maybe somebody who hasn't been there. It's it's that it's another moment where they're at the pool with Pierce Brosnan and Mrs doubtfire sitting at the bar and of course because it's Robin Williams under there He can't resist looking at the pretty girl who comes to the the bar. And of course through the MRS doubtfire makeup stares at her and when she orders neutering Robin Williams Liam's in a masculine his his masculine voice says I'll get it meaning. I'll get her drinking the way she looks at just such disgusting Asti Tocchet. That's just oh my God not to mention he is hitting on women get dressed as a older British woman but he's is hitting on women while actively trying to stop his ex wife from getting into any kind of a relationship with Pierce Brosnan incredibly true very good point and it's just like fuck you yes like I get that like and this is part of and it's tough because you don't actually see you don't see them actively hate one another but at the same time you don't really Kinda see why they clicked as characters who would have been in a relationship and because of that like her wanting to move on is healthy and him doing all of this so unfathomably unhealthy including but not limited to him trying to sabotage other relationship. which there's a certain base feeling feeling? I think that the producers writers were trying to go for that. It's like Oh you know if it was your ex regardless of how you feel you're going to know that you feel like you don't want to see anybody else it's just like like Oh man. Yeah and I know that I keep using that word. I don't mean to use that word for H.. One of my go-to like oof like who. It's very pro stocking in that sense like it sperry pro. Do whatever you can do because it's it all is in service of his masculinity like and I think it this movie thinks of masculinity is a very specific thing. It's being a father of of a family that has heterosexual Six gender But so whatever you do to serve that is fine At its it's just obsessive and I just I just want to be like okay. Who hurt whoever made this once upon a time and made you feel this way like it's it's really bad Do you think that because the author of this book is British and I don't know like is it fair to say that transgender center rights and recognition socially in in the. UK is that are they. Are they more regressive than here or there I mean so a there is a huge tradition of Men Andress being a source of comedy comedy. And there's like I think that there is a lot more nuanced especially in a British sense to that but at the same time it is still still absolutely a joke but that said also right. Now there's a podcast that I listen to called. What the Trans and they are primarily based in in Britain and so they talk with a lot of other transport and intersex folk and non binary folk About sort of the the state of Basically transparency in the UK and. Yeah there's there's a lot more virulent transphobia and like a lot more willingness to accept turf logic in a lot of their Like a lot of their government and a lot of the things that I've been hearing so it definitely is a thing at the same time I'm not from that culture. I'm just listening to a lot of other folks that are covering it. Yeah yeah I I think. That's that's why I mentioned. Just because in some of the non binary groups that I'm on facebook I see people who are from the UK commenting on on others pursue like are in the US getting their driver's license to say you know the gender is X.. And people in the UK saying Oh you know. I wish I could do that. Like I wish Sean you know. We had those kinds of legislative Shifts that would allow me to do something like that and and so it makes me think like okay. Will you know as a as a whole where is the kind of cultural moment there. But now I can't even really remember why I brought that up except to say it's like I'm I'm thinking about just sort of where this where this text ultimately came from and and of course that is also not to say like. Oh you know where we're just so so great in so progressive in our own country. That's not that's not true. I mean it's just I wonder what the struggle like. I think the the issues are different but the issues are still being had and it's just a matter of like what flavor of discrimination are. We feeling as far as anti translate. Yeah Yeah and honestly all the flavors are bad terrible they are they are all like the seed in which Pierce Brosnan is choking on the shrimp and Trans Phobia is the shrimp. That is choking all of us. I brought a dry. This is we are talking about adaptations as well. I know I mentioned that. This part of the reason that we're doing this now is because Mrs Doubtfire is going to open. I believe for previews in March on Broadway. Yes and it was gone. I was GONNA say as as I was watching the movie and thinking about that production. I figured out exactly how to fix that musical like it occurred to me like what like what the musical do in order to in order to to be a good Mrs doubtfire musical what you need to do Is You need to take the script as it is and you need to not do that script at all and just do something else.

"So okay the one thing I 'cause 'cause you're you mentioned before the yeah. I break the the sort of going into going deeper into the film and also talking about some of the other stuff ronald like this. This proposed musical. I the one thing that struck me that I did not know l. from just the opening credits of the film is this was a book before it wasn't movie I didn't even look into that. Okay I have the wikipedia page up and apparently the book was called Madame Doubtfire Known as alias Madame doubtfire it's written by an fine whose English And the plot of it seems to be basically the same. It was written in nineteen eighty-seven It received the Guardian Children's fiction prize and the Whitbread Children's Book Award which I don't know anything about either of those the basic plot of it seems to be the same Yeah the writer is an fine. I don't don't know much about what she's done. SORTA HA so. Yeah I mean I guess the one takeaway from that. That's is kind of interesting is that it was a kids book and We can probably talk about the Deep flaws in kind and that by by that you mean the the idea of a story like this being pretty much intended for children like being like Let's teach kids from a young age. That if a guy is dressing in a address than we it's it's for humor and we should make fun of him and It's gotta be for nefarious means. Yeah I mean in that that also dates back on the way I just shared something earlier talking about like like There was something going around. That had billy porter little acts billy Bush. A couple of other folks that are just in these amazing outfits. It's for the grammy's and it says like why does it look like every grammy winner and every grammy tend to eat. Looks like they're going to be like the next Batman Villain and someone responded with. Well it's because we grew up on media showing that all evil people are queer coded L.. And you know so. It is one of those things where there's a lot of bias and even during this period There there was a lot of bias in in that way. where it's like if we're going to show this we've gotTA show This character doesn't want to be an address we got to show that this character doesn't belong address etcetera etcetera. I don't know if I actually I think I moved into a completely different topic. But well worth exploring because I mean certainly certainly transphobia In in villains in comics while not not them being necessarily outrightly transplant. But like that that sort of trope of the the feminization or or Trans Ization of villains in in comics and how detrimental that is To Actual Trans People That's a that is a topic like that is worth exploring on its head. I mean that goes back to the joker I mean certainly even before that Ah but Joaquin El haven't seen that movie but like even going back to the jokers first. I appearance in comics. Like his whole thing is like. He's not a muscular villain like he does do feminine things like the Villain in. I mean this is a whole thing. But like the villain in The Maltese Falcon as yeah. Nice to meet with this is because for all media and just like just to put it out there and I I think we talked about it during our psycho episode. Pretty much all media. If you'RE GONNA show a queer coated person you can't show them in a relationship in this for for a very long time in most media You could you couldn't show them in a relationship and you could only show them as a villain so that this was a thing that it was specifically look dat by people as oh this is a a mark villainy squareness this femininity and men Right so the humor of Mrs Doubtfire then comes from Robin Williams being like no but I'm not a villain. I'm not doing something bad. Even though you're you're sort of coded voted to believe I even though he is absolutely the bad guy in every situation. Yeah exactly exactly I feel for him but he is absolutely wrong. Every in this movie totally is I want him to fail. Take away his fucking kids. I'm sorry yeah I'm sorry exactly he. It was obvious that like he was terrible from before the whole divorce. It's like when you so when your kid has a birthday. which is the opening sort of thing of the film and you decide like instead of just getting a cake in the presence and you'd like literally are just going to without consulting your wife bring home like what what she rightly calls the zoo bunch of animals and and like really messes up the place? That's a problem like jit problems. She's right to be upset about that. And so and I just that whole moment. Because that's the moment in the film that ultimately Spurs on her saying I want a divorce which also strikes me as a little unbelievable in the sense that like? It's probably not just that one moment. I would imagine if this is indicative of his behavior. There's been a bunch of these things and this is probably the latest thing and so it's it's probably not just because the birthday party went this way but because he's been this class a fuck up and and she like she never states anything specific and I think that's because if we as an audience here a laundry list of all the bad things that he's done I think that even then like a a lot of people will give a man the benefit of the doubt so even if we did hear that it would be fine but I think a lot of other people in the audience. It'd be like maybe maybe this is is indicative of other behavior but we it's again this movie doesn't this movie does a very good job of almost like I don't want to go as far as to say gas lights issue but it tells you certain information so that you feel a certain way. But they don't feel completely that way and so when they do take a u-turn they do make the character a completely different of like pretty much almost out of nowhere character shift. It doesn't feel completely aww character. It's just sort of like okay and I actually would go as far as to say. There's a gas leading going on specifically in the scene where Robin Williams before four. He invents the disguise method of doing this has his kids over to the apartment that he's rented and it's it it looks Kinda not great and they're all sitting around the table like eating dinner and mom has showed up what he says an hour early and the kids kids. They're they're starting to get up and like the way in which he kind of yells at them in. That moment is really uncertain unsettling for me but the movie kind of doesn't really want us to remember that I mean what he says. You're my kids to God damn it and I'm just oh okay but then like only only minutes later when the mom comes in it's sort of played for a little bit of a joke and then we get to see how excited these kids are At spending more time with dad as if that moment just wasn't as emotionally violent as it was and I get the content that he's just very passionate he's very upset. This is a thing that's like things are happening is reaching a boiling point. The and honestly I forgot how I don't say how well but how I'll say how. Well how well. It does pepper in a a lot of dramatic moments in the beginning as much as there is absurd humor in its sees. He's hiring the entire Barnyard to come out and they're like it's ridiculous weird homer Simpson moments. There's also a lot of these moments of just real sadness and real like you really do feel for both parents appearance in a lot of different ways and it is interesting. It's just then. He specifically tricks his ex wife into hiring him rest. They're fucking Marigny. which I also like that I mean by like I am further? They're traumatized by the that he feels. This must mean he needs to gender flipper genders. Because it's like well. There can't be a male nanny lakes thanks got to invent a woman do it only one at like twelve. Yeah exactly and I'm sorry that I'm kind of like jumping on. There is a like I went into this. I really want people listening to understand. I went into this wanting to love of this movie. All over again wanting to come out the other side and say you know what it wasn't that bad y'all it could have been a lot worse and it's just then I think the second phone call he makes he's he's basically like amping her up to think that there is no good choices so that when he comes up with the good choice she picks six that choice but at one point he says hold on. I wrote it down so I'm GonNa go find it Data is very humorous. Ask No of. We've moved beyond their. I'm so close. Oh here we go there. He's a you're telling me about the children all you have ooh I'm sorry. I don't work with the males because they used to be one right and then the sound of disgust from the life as well no. It's just that that was the first moment I think in this movement is movie where my heart truly like shattered because it had been breaking as I've been watching this but then when it came to that it became really really clear that this movie is setting up a boundary and it saying on this side of the boundary is fun gender. Play on the other side of that is actual Trans people who are disgusting in the movie and I hate that And I do know many trans people in the in various forms of Caring of youth like whether they be nannies unease or whether they be teachers whether they be and it's just man I did not like I didn't sign up for this I it did. I signed up for it to really WANNA hit life. Watch the curse of the Queer Wolf I I know I should have just watched a bunch of Shiro originally going to do you could add sheer Alexandros. It's my biggest regret so yeah like so. There's there are a lot of moments of that and then the other thing the other big thing thing I want to talk about is the use of music. Yes yes please. Let's talk about that. There is no subtlety in this soundtrack. nope breath like the ones that I wrote down and there's some that I didn't even write down because I just I mentioned this to you earlier off off Mike I just. At a certain point I stopped taking taking notes and just played a video game while it was on. I was just like all right very smart. I would say if you WanNa Really Watch Mrs Doubtfire. Just play the Messenger. It's a great game anything to do nothing to do with Mrs Doubtfire. But it's just like no I just want people to play Messenger uh-huh but yeah so luck. BE A lady. Tonight is one that I wrote down dude. Looks like a lady so that one is the one that that like real like I was just like. Oh you're really going okay It actually looked up the origins of that Song After which is also pretty horrific..

"Hello my name is Ashley. Lauren Rogers I am the Creator and producer served transphobic podcast. I use she her and they then pronouns and today I'm being joined by me Jonathan Election Dramas. I am here I I use the pronouns and I'm slightly traumatized because MRS doubtfire. Yeah this is This is a whole show. This is a whole movie so I'm curious did you watch Mrs Doubtfire when when you were growing up like. Is this a thing that you saw in the theaters or like VHS. So that's the scary thing. I watched it as a kid. Many many many many many times. I loved this movie as as a child and I have no idea why I mean. Well I actually have. We given that some thought so we can talk about that as we move on but I rented it from Gemstone video in Knoxville Tennessee on VHS. I watched it on television. Whatever it was on television and I Yeah I remember seeing it multiple times Not In the theaters. But it's because I was ten when it came out but Later on but only shortly later on watching it watched a quite a bit. Yeah Yeah I honestly. I'm not sure if I saw it in the theaters but I definitely watched a lot. Growing up I thought it was the funniest thing. I loved it. I loved all of the characters and so yeah it was very weird now having to sit down and say to myself. Do I actually like because this really glad to hear you say that you also liked it it makes me feel like I was just watching this thing and I was feeling just so bad bad I just how could I have not seen this but I guess you know we were. We were young and we missed a few things. Yeah well we'll and it's an interesting thing now because now I was watching it and I kind of was bored. Yeah like it wasn't even that it was like offensive or I was angry. I mean you know I guess it is a lot of ways offensive but at the same time. It's just like Manna comedy. Just wasn't there. Literally the comedy is his man and address yes and and I did not. I did not find myself laughing and I really do absolutely remember birther like finding it hysterical. Once upon a time but yeah. You're you're absolutely right like that was the whole gig as we dive into this movie. I had sort of a question question just sort of starting off which is when we refer to Mrs Doubtfire the character. What pronouns should we us? I think because Mrs Doubtfire is a character that is being portrayed by Robin William's character man. Yeah it's it's character and character. I think it's okay to refer to the character using she her but right alternately again like she is a character And it's like Oh man I think admittedly like I. I am okay with however we want to refer to to Mrs Doubtfire as a character Do you have strong feelings one way or another you know. It's it's weird because because I feel like as I was talking about her I actually found myself using he him pronouns just because I was is like no this is not like a this is not someone's actual identity. This is a man who is absolutely Louis just in a in a costume and lake. But I also like I'm open to like she her or feels natural as well like for for Mrs Doubtfire so I'm not sure well and and I think I think so much of it is that yeah. Let's let's stated stated very clearly. This is not a a movie about someone who is learning to love themselves as a trans person. This is a literal man in address. Who is deceiving his wife or his ex wife to make sure that he has time with his children is literally everything that is just fucking boring about? Yeah like I feel like Ricky base watch this and was like that's my stance on trans stuff and I'm like no. That's that's not okay. I feel like lots of Transphobia is sort of based around this this exact idea. It's like everybody just watch MRS doubtfire and go. Oh yeah that's how translates works. Because it's not at all how it works. I mean it's it's so so far it's insulting. It's this idea that it's all people who are just trying to infiltrate be sneaky to to like serve. Serves some other goal that has nothing to do with personal identity. That's awful yeah well let me let me ask this. Let's kind of shifted a little bit so we know like I think. I'm uncomfortable kind of referring to Mrs doubtfire because Mrs Doubtfire is a character becomes a character that Robin Williams's character. What's his name? We don't even know he can. Billy Batson billy like what's but creates and then kind of stumbles his way into create a children's show with that character so the character lives on right but it is a thing that like so I I I'm fine with whatever Pronoun we WANNA use for doubtfire That said is there a world where a man in address this idea like first off. Let's define that. What is the man an address trump? Like what is that. I think it's like a question I mean I think that it's it's certainly something that was quote unquote funny or used for humor. Prior to Mrs Doubtfire like Mrs Doubtfire. It did not invent that. I mean you know the reason we're supposed to laugh at corporal. Klinger is because it's an address In so oh because it's also not drag either like especially not in this context. I think like drag. It's not like one it's dragged people are in on the fact that it's dragged like this is specifically to achieve An and that depends on certain parties. Not Finding out that this is a man address. So what is the man address. I mean I think whenever it started and I don't know what it what it started with it goes back to ancient Greeks playing with gender under I don't know but initially I'm sure it's something were meant to sort of laugh at and then Mrs doubtfire take that and it's like okay. We can still laugh at it but there's a really like quote unquote wholesome idea behind it. Which is just a dad who wants his kids kids back and that makes it more awful? Yeah actually I think so much of this. The man in address as a trope as a thing that people go to both like specifically for comedy is reliant on the fact that the man doesn't want to be an address And that he's doing it for a reason as opposed to just wanting to wear a dress like I I want to affirm men want two addresses. Yes please do Shirt create more media. where straight servicemen? Just wear dresses Graham Star Trek. The next generation did that for a little while and they've got that Unisex like all of their clothing is Unisex Yeah But it is a thing where and this has been like. It's almost ageless. This idea of deriving comedy from The idea that that is a man that is a man wearing address and that therefore his funny and yeah. I'm here for comedy that is inclusive of men who want to wear dresses and I am very against the idea that Like we should in some way they say like Oh man wearing addresses just bad because it's like no that's how a lot of like that's how a lot of early transport like myself included kind of experimented and figured it out like okay. Oh okay like yeah this this is actually kinda great. I like this. This is me and then you learned from there and then you figure things out so I more than anything else I wanted. Go on this tangent to make sure that we're sort of stating just because a man is wearing address does not mean it's funny does not mean that it's bad is that they are less than in any way shape you perform and I think that's where a lot of that man and address humor comes from. Yeah you're super super super right and as we're talking about it I mean I'll just say that that as a child like trying on my mom's dresses was really important for me to do and for me. It was about like feeling willingly clothing. And and feeling the feeling of you know this this object that I wasn't supposed to really identify with but yet I I did I mean that that was really really important to my development so so absolutely one hundred percent with you there I I think that when we talk about the man and address gag as opposed to men and dresses which can have a variety of Significance of but the man address gag being a joke. I think actually has more to do. I mean it certainly transphobic phobic but it has to do with also just viewing women and feminine things as less than because I feel like in addition into being transphobic Mrs Doubtfire. The movie is heavily. Sexist I mean. We don't even get to the dress part until a ways in that actually surprised me how long it took us to get to that dress because up until then every woman we meet is like frigid or like not not fun or just somehow neglectful of family and love and you know the only the only woman in who are a little bit outside of that are the two female kids but even the older of the two is having moments where she starting to like a little calder. And like it's it's really this. This movie has a huge. Like woman respects the problem. I think I think just the idea of character in general in this movie. It almost feels like they didn't know what they wanted from. The characters characters who the characters were and in some ways like it actually in some ways it kind of worked. Because I didn't ever fully hate the mother. Mother hates Pierce Brosnan. Even like there's a lot of things that like by the end it's like yeah these two characters spoilers for Mrs Doubtfire Robin Williams. His ex wife shouldn't get back together right at all at all. She's right says is right. Yeah he's been terrible and the only thing Mrs doubtfire proves when he puts outfit is that he knew all along what can do in order to keep this family together like as soon as you put the Mrs doubtfire things like. Oh I guess I should cook healthy food and like you could have done that before for you could have easily opened up a cookbook buddy. Yes because it did it and okay and so she'll must switches immediately the second that they are divorced and she's there to pick up the kids and yes she drop them off in our late and she's there an hour early and she's having a hard time because you know she's still like the two of them. Were both getting to understand this whole like all right. Well we gotta do a bunch of other like th I it. It up ended both of their lives and a lot of ways put she is just this unrepentant. Just like A- are they. Why aren't they ready at? Come on come on. Oh this place looks nice. It's just like fuck you I get it I get it like. I've never gone through a divorce. I don't know what it's it's like. I don't know how the relationships like I. It's not a thing I have felt myself but at the same time it's just like wow the the producers really wanted us to immediately radiantly like understand at first and then hate her and then kind of like ultimately we had to get on board with the.

"Everything up until getting onto real world merit well. I was born in Cleveland in Ohio on October. Eighth nineteen just so so I went to high school at Normandy. High School in Parma. Ohio and I grew up in a middle class Kind of atmosphere and I went to Miami of Ohio I was in a fraternity called Beta Chi and I'll never forget like expert. Yeah Oxford Oxford Ohio as a school in Oxford Mississippi. Look at that look at that. Just two peas and Apo- ah so I You know I always watch real world like back in the day real world was the show. I mean there wasn't many reality shows out there. There was survivor. Big Brother other cops and real world. That was it there. There wasn't all these different things like there was. Internet wasn't as popular as it is. There's no youtube instagram twitter. I know all the kids out there. Like what you gotta be kidding me but yeah back in our day you know we just had that and people would try out like people would come out like like there was like sixty thousand people for macy's and trying out so the way I had it was I was in data guy. I was enjoying college. I wasn't really enjoying the classes I was enjoying join everything else and I I saw it on TV and it was like try out for the real world. That's like I want to try out. Yeah everyone made fun of me. Everyone's like you're gonNA move good. How you you would stand you out from all these people like? I don't know I remember putting on I I would always have a camera with me and it was one of those. VHS kind of cameras and the way you would add it was to VCR's together and you'd put the wires in connect the wires and you press play and record in. That's how I edited my my my audition tate. Yeah and so I sending the audition tape. Everyone made fun of me at my fraternity. But they were supportive. You know. But they're they're kinda bussing my you know whatever and so they So then they called. Wait hold on. What was on your your audition video? Oh just I would videotape all of our parties. Okay me sitting down just talking to them saying like who I am Just a little bit about myself. You know that Kinda thing but had the MS made an appearance of the MS the MS debuted on on on the real world Becca York season ten so I did. I did the audition tape. And they must have liked it because they sent this. They called me and said. Hey We'd like you to fill out this application. Sure thinking an application would be one page to page fifty page application asking everything and anything about my life filled the whole thing out and once I filled that out one of my buddies is like dude. I WANNA try out so bad now. One of the people that was like dude. I don't know you can't believe you're trying out. Yeah I want to try out is like well. They're doing an open casting call in Detroit. I'll go with you. So we drove up the Detroit and we went to the open casting call and this time the you know there are thousands upon thousands. We waited in line. Four o'clock morning Detroit. It was like you know I think it was during the winter so it was freezing using cold and we make it up into these little group. It's like ten people in a group and they just ask you questions you know and I I answer the question and ended up happening where I made it to the next round again so I had to do another fifty page application the same fifty fifty page application. I just did but my friend had to wait for me. Because he didn't make it to that next round so then the next round for that was I had a video camera. That was videotaping me. I had them on speakerphone and I had to look into the camera while answering all the questions they would ask me and so I did that and these were the days as before a camera phone people by the way so did that twice just to abuse one two thousand okay and so then I was twenty two years old and so then did those two and then I did in in person interviewed in an personnel view is in Detroit so went back up to Detroit drove up it was like four hour drive and Before my interview. You're going to wait a little bit so I sat down with like ten girls that were going to their prom or something like that and I was just hanging. I didn't never met these people before what's going on. What's going on over here and just started sitting down talking to him not thinking that? Wow this looks really good when you know. The producer comes down literally goes wait. How did you meet these people? I met him and it ended up happening. where I I I went up to the interview and I was always always like. Why are people always crying on these shows? Like your honor show. You're having fine like you're in a house. That was the first time I realized. Wow now I get get why people cry on TV like how because they get you like the questions that they ask you know Kinda get deep seated and you go. Whoa like you really find find find out about yourself and so after I was driving home I was like wow like this would be a great show for me because it really kind of opened me up and Kinda and found some issues that I didn't even know I had so then got to Back to my people and went onto a casting special once I did the casting special This is the first time that they would have The people from real world and road rules and it was like twenty eight people in Palm Palm Springs was the first time in only time they would ever do this three the days and we would literally just be living like you would on the real world or road rules and you don't know what show you're going to be on your show you're GonNa get on a show. Are they uh-huh they're only owning it all again. They're filming everything and they have little Things that we would do Just to get to know you how you do on the show and then finally Out of the twenty eight people I I made it onto one of the shows. Yeah so this was three months. He told me I was tell anyone not even my parents. Didn't wow am I'm like my parents are like Whoa. You're going back to school. No I'm going to do this thing. Yeah whoa where and I'm like. I can't tell you anything because by the way my but my parents are big mouth and we know their big mouths and I didn't want to ruin this opportunity like this is something that I wanted to do and I have the opportunity to do it. Yeah this was crazy like I'm going to be on the real world like the one of the biggest shows on TV. At the time I get to do it whether it was rural the rural. I didn't know I flew to New York. First time flying in Newark ever went stayed in. There's a hotel in Stanton Island. The gimme a pager and they said Hey we're gonNA page you when we paid you. You need to call the number and we'll tell you what you're gonNA do next and I'm like what okay so I'm sitting there waiting. I'm thinking like there's cameras in the room. I don't know what's happening. You know what I mean so finally we are your parents like this. Sounds like a colt and no one could have certain parents. Let me do kind of whatever the hell like. They they knew like I'm I'm a good kid and I. They knew that I just go after things. Yeah and so they just thought it was one of the things that I was going after. Yeah and so went there and Yeah I got a page that said meet on this ferry. You're you might be one of your key cast members there we don't know so I'm standing there and I see one of the people on the casting special go. I guess we're roommates. Yeah then it says you need to go to six thirty to Hudson. So I'm like six hundred thousand either. RV is going to be there. And I'm on the road. Rules or House House is going to be there. And I'm on the real world and get to the house and honestly there was like four of us there and we're like are we on the road. We still don't know this really happening. Like what's going going on like the way they edit. It was amazing like we were. We had no idea if we're on the real world still we're like really. Is this the house we pick our bed or is there going to be an RV pulling up and then we have to fight for it or something like what's going on. Yeah and finally. I realized that I was one of the cast members on the real world back to New York and I was like I couldn't believe it and the way the MS came about was when I was on the real world. I was the outcast. Nobody really like. This is the first time that I've ever been an outcast. Like I've usually am able to adapt to whatever situation I need to adapt. I'm pretty good at being a chameleon and kind of adapting to my environment. But this one was different and I'm loud obnoxious noxious and sometimes I rub people. The wrong way rubbed everyone the wrong way in my in my household and so it took a long time to where I was like everyone just it felt like I was kept on. I'm getting picked on and picked on not bullied but it was just one of those things like I just. Nobody liked me. Yeah so I just created this character called the MS where I didn't care what people thought anymore and I was just GonNa say and do whatever the hell I wanted whenever I wanted and the MS was and it was the Ms. It wasn't Mike and ended up happening. Where the MS is got more respect and light better than Mike did on the show and the cast members and the MS was my outlet to basically kind of get in with my roommates in them to kind of learn who I am and what? It was almost like a self preservation down tactic. I guess you can say for sure created this alter ego because you're feeling ostracized. Yeah and not only that but it's a different environment. I'm in New York City from Parma. I'm Ohio like I've never ventured out there. And then and then not only that like you have cameras on you all the time. Whenever I wanted to leave I had to call the bat phone? Yeah we had a thing called the a bat phone where you call up and beg. Hey I'm leaving all right. Give us ten minutes. We're GONNA come with you and we're and you have cameras just walking right and you can't tell anyone on. The rule is a man as commercial. That's that's through. We have to make up these things where we commercials. It's funny talking about it because you don't is beyond the misses. The first person I met when I came to La Tuition. And then I got. I thought thought he was like like really annoying. And then I got to To meet Mike and I was like. Wow this guy's Freddie cool but then he goes back into MS Oh my goodness I flip on and off. Yeah I flip it on and off. It's kind of like a a thing that like so when I got off the real world. They like like everyone wanted them is. And by the way the MS on the real world one episode twenty two episodes. I remember that episode so vivid amazing a lot. A lot of people did like from that episode on. I was no longer Mike. I was the MS do them is do the MS do them as do the MS and then I would do all these challenges where I was like. You know what I'm going to turn this into reality I moved to I. I never forget like sitting back in Parma Ohio coming back from the real world and looking in the mirror and saying well what do you want to do with your life. What do you want to do now and I never forget? There was like on my shelf like a rock. The Rock like action figure. Oh yeah that was like. I'm going to become a w superstar and you can only imagine. Imagine when you tell your parents you're going to be a WPRO back to Miami of Ohio. Yeah you know. And so My parents didn't want me to do it like a lot of people. Were laughing at me because it's like I wasn't six five. Yeah I was in three hundred pounds of pure solid muscle. But I was going to do it so I moved to. La Founder independent wrestling. School out. There I out here and then I went to Improv. Oh classes acting classes because I wanted to make sure I had all the tools that I needed to make sure that I could be a success. And then I got like a Dietitian Asian. I had a person training me to work out so I was working out properly so I wanted to make sure I had everything in place to win. You know it's luck is win opportunity thirty in preparation meat and I wanted to be prepared as I possibly could for that opportunity. Were you a wrestler. But did you rest school now. We're like she did do nothing like that. I play basketball. Football played all the sports. Every sport. There is But I never I was never never like amazing. I was a captain of team but I was the best player..

"I got some new shoes on. I've I already got a pit stain going on the right side because only sweat out of the my right bit. But that's another episode very excited about today's his show. By the way was last episode Rashad Jennings was at the last one. Did you guys listen to that episode. That episode to me is one of the. I've been doing doing radio since I was sixteen years old. I've probably interviewed over five hundred people that was one of the most inspiring. And just like whoa stories. I have ever heard fifth-string fifth-string running back junior year of high school in that dude went and played in Super Bowl's like how does that even happen. He was the fat kid that was like hiding skittles in his in his is like pants pads pocket and then he went to go play the New York giants one dancing. The stars like that story to me was so crazy. And if you haven't listened to like I don't really care if you listen to any of these podcasts. But if you're going to listen to one of them that one was pretty cool and a way to listen to one that's about to happen because well I'm recording this this after the interview. So I can tell you. It's a very very good interesting inspiring interview on the show today. We have the MS and the MRS now now you might remember the MS he was on Let's see he was on real world back in two thousand one than he did the challenge and then he was able to turn his his entire weird persona of the MS into a WWe champion. He actually won the Freakin weaken belt. No one thought that he was going to be able to turn that fifteen minutes of fame from the real world in to what he has become and now he's married married to Maurice who's a beautiful wonderful wrestler as well from the wwe and now they have their own freaking reality TV show. And we're GONNA find out how the hell the MS was born. How the Hell Maurice who didn't speak any English was able to come on an American American television show and be on the wwe? Their stories are crazy. You're not gonNA WANNA miss this coming up right here on the wells cast. I guess her love books. A freaking awesome they help customers. Zimmer's expressed the sentiments. That may be difficult to say out. Loud users can create characters that look just like themselves and the recipient down to the outfits and accessories is while customers have the option to personalize each page as much as they like. Their expression option creates a complete book. which just a few clicks love books are are perfect gifts for all occasions or just? Because and I'm telling you right now. I love love books because as one of the first gifts. Sarah Guy got my birthday a couple years ago and it's a cutest thing that's a little love story and of course I'm wearing a plaid shirt and she's wearing a dress and she's got big glasses anyways..

"Come visit the Bush Center for Christmas you'll get to see what those decorations were in two thousand seven Christmas in the national parks. What kind of what kind of ornaments and decorations to tell us what we used A? We sent out actually a big balls and Estevan American artists to decorate them with a painting of their favorite National Park. Our National Park. That was close to them or that was in some part of the a country where we lived and so we have those as well and then of course we did ever sort of natural decorations like many people would using pine cones in Magnolia leaves. And the things that you might be able to just get in your own yard like in a natural way like like you would if you wanted to visit a national show park. It's GONNA be beautiful. I'm really really excited about it. Mrs Bush just on the Christmas themed for a minute such a magnificent memory timid all the memories and the White House what are some of the With all the bushes came to town and everyone went to Camp David or some of your memories from the White House years. One thing I remember is there's a group of people they're just volunteers who decorate for the White House every year decorate the put up all the decorations and they come in sort sort of around the country a number of our florist who already have decoration. You know skill in being able to decorate but they decorate from year to year. They're not necessarily supporters of whoever the president is that lives there but but it was really fun to have them come in and I remember remember that one year when we use that fake quite snow. You'll you'll have seen it. That kind of you shake out of the box was piled up under the one of the Christmas trees. I use it. They decorated then. They SORTA had snow fight at the end of the decorations. There but then what we always did was go to Camp David so I know we have a record that no other family will ever hold because we Bennett Camp David for Christmas for four years. When George's dad was president and then Then for the eight years that we were there all the Bush family came to Camp David and it was the perfect place to be there for Christmas. It led the White House. The people that work at the White House off for the holidays and the people at Camp David are stationed there. It's a military base. It's actually a navy base which is odd because it's not on the water but when it was founded during the time of Franklin Roosevelt the crew from the presidential yacht were the ones that staff to Camp David and they were navy at. There's no longer a presidential yacht but there is still of course Camp David so we were with The families that were stationed there so they were there with their own children in their parents their wives and husbands and we had always had Christmas Eve Church service at the Little Church there at Camp David with them and there was something very special about getting to be with members of the military there at Camp David Well and the national park system that that is the base of all of this to they. Don't I think everyone thinks to them is just taking care of Yosemite in the Grand Canyon but they also do the the national monuments and the White House. And the Alamo and even like I'm GonNa get this name wrong so correct me here Popa Magoo. Yeah that's exactly it. which now McCook is a national marine monument that President Bush designated in the northwestern Hawaiian silence and I got to go there? It's so far in the northwestern Pacific way up there that it's a long flight even from Honolulu up up to Papa. Now McKay Midway Island is one of the islands and Midway Island has You know a landing strip and everything because it was a refueling refueling spot during World War Two with planes that flew from the United States toward Japan. So it's the only one of the northwestern Hawaiian Y in islands. That actually has a landing spot but I did have a chance after George Name. Bid is a national marine monument. Had the chance to go there and see it but why why is it so important that we protect our oceans and assets like Honda Mokaba. Okay thank you for bailing the added. Thank you well. This is one of the things we saw when we were there. There is a very large bird the lace on Albatross that nest up there. In the northwestern North Western Hawaiian islands they nest on the ground. They don't have any natural predators that are there on these remote islands. And so these as little babies were waiting little baby lace on Albatross. Chicks were in their nest and their parents go off and fish for squid on top of the ocean and then come back that can feed their chicks. And so every once in awhile. There'd be a little dead chick and we'd look at it and when we opened it up we'd see that the parents hadn't comeback with squid but they'd come back with plastic bottle caps in toothbrushes little plastic toys and just the plastic. That's out there in that in that remote part of the ocean and of course it's not all from the United States it's from Asia from many parts of the world but we saw the effects of plastic in this most remote place. You can imagine now not every little albatross was dead. Obviously there that grew up. And and you know this big great big lice on Albatross. But still it was a reminder of how small our world is now and how important it is that we all pay attention to what we do that what we do can make an effect you know when whatever we throw out washes down to the river and then washes out to sea and so it's important for us to try to conserve our beautiful world. We only have one plan. That's right and it's interesting because that's on the one hand that's this remote island that you and President Bush care so much about and also just your own literal backyard. Kyar Prairie Chapel ranch is an is another conservation example. When it's right on we're about either for the w one hundred that's right? We're about to go. Georgia think goes tonight to WHO The ranch and then I'll go tomorrow after the Bush Foundation Board meeting this weekend he's hosted warriors wounded warriors for the bike rides at our rats. We have a a lot of bike trails that have been built over the years. They're a new group of warriors will ride with him and then the alums who've written with him in other ears can join on the second day and ride with him too so I think that'll be a lot of fun. But one of the things we have done it. Iran's she's trying to restore the prairie that was there the native prairie that would have been there and of course it was gone because he'd been farmed the area around Waco. Oh which was a cotton producing area. And that's the farmers that we bought our property farm from at plotted but we've spent the all the years since we bought it about ten years. Now I guess we've owned it or maybe slightly longer. First plowing up the non native grass over and over year after year a year after year until we finally really got rid of it and then using these little seed from these little remnants of intact prairie that are native with grass man. That helps us at at ratchet bought up and so now we probably a little over one hundred acres of ninety prairie which means we've seen quayle again again at our ranch and we're not quite in the quail area of Texas but but we do have them because they're ground nesters they're dependent on prairies nice to nest and we've gotten to see those plus we're just proud to have it now. We have. We can met. Hey are native prairie so now we have our own native. I'd say it can continue. Adding more acreage is As we can Mrs. You've taken this idea this innovative idea of bringing Texas back to nature when you founded Texan by nature. And can you tell us just a little bit about that. Well when I moved home from the White House with this same group of France some of from where the My friend Midland friends. That a hike with Several of them are ranch. Women that grew up on the big ranches of Texas the Armstrong ranch in south South Texas Ranches Round Albany. We all joined together to try to encourage people to use native plants in everywhere in their landscapes in their churchyards wherever you can plan it and especially we wanted them to plant the milkweed. The native and low porn milkweed that monarch butterflies depend end upon to where they lay their cocoons as they migrate towards Canada for the summer and then fly back down in the winter toward Mexico coat the breeding grounds at the Monarch Butterfly. So we've worked with a lot of groups. A lot of corporations that have corporate campuses is a hundred and forty acres are so have gotten together and started to plant this antelope porn milk. Wait in one of a defense contact tractor out of close to Austin now. They're keeping bees even because they know how important it is for Po- for US ahead pollinators. We couldn't have agriculture culture if we didn't have pollinators and it's very important that we That we continue to make sure that we have enough native plants around round For the pollinators that are dependent especially then of course the monarch butterfly and as you can see sort of shape of Texas were the actual flyway of the Monarch Butterfly up from Mexico up to Canada and then back back as they fly back down. They fly in successive generations. They only live about nine days so they have to have the end low part beltway to put their coon on for the next generation. which is why it's really important? And of course nearly all of that mid part of the United States has been plowed because it's the agriculture belt. I mean we were dependent on it to write That's how we eat. But there are ways we can mitigate at the destruction to the milkweed to the end obviously slate to the monarch butterfly. You see these headlines every now and then of of in be counter down and butterfly counselor down. It's such a delicate cycle. That really is is. And that's why it's important to make sure you plant some native plants in your yard or in your on your corporate campuses like these companies around around Austin or doing or in your churchyards and so that's what Texan by nature is which is to try to encourage people to use native plants and of course they're the ones that thrive if they do the best In our pretty unforgiving atmosphere that we have here in Texas our weather I should say taught hot in December called in so as we as we get ready to wrap here I think we. We've gotTA know. We've talked so much about national parks and you've been to. So how many national parks. So which one do you think parents should take their children to which we go to. What do you think well? I think you should go to your closest national park. Find out which park is close to you. find out your national historic sites that are in your neighborhoods which are also part of the national park system and visit those and certainly the parents we the trip that we would make for Midland would be to the to the big band which is our big great big huge national park down at the band of taxes. This is but then also to San Antonio to visit the Alamo and all those things that Texans like to do and you might not know it but the Alamo's national historic site right so Research and find out what are the ones closest to you and take your children to those first and then give them the opportunity to visit others versus. They grow up that I think that's a perfect message ended on Mrs Bush thank you so much for news. We know you're busy and it's an incredible treat..
