"That's that's the way it should be. We export our stars and everybody accepts it and they love it and that's great but if you send your stars here they better learn to speak english or else. There's gonna be a problem and that's to your point is just not the way the world works anymore and we are now getting a very very small taste of what the rest of the world has has been experiencing with the exporting of america's stars to different markets. It's just really interesting and of course you know spanish. Speaking a players are a huge part of the Be this this The comments stephen as comments while directed at chauhan or about Shohei clearly pertained to the twenty five percent of opening day rosters in two thousand nineteen that Speak spanish as their first language. It's it's just an old old minded thinking. It's not the way media works anymore and not the way fame works anymore. Not the way sports works anymore and you know what. I hope that this starts to shift another culture that you know. I like again traveling a lot for basketball. I got submerged into so many different cultures. No matter where i went almost every single person spoke some english like in the grocery store. Now it'd be like how do and then they like. Oh yeah okay and they would tell me where the beef is in the in the grocery store but like everywhere else in the world makes effort like just just the least little effort everywhere else in the world makes an effort to learn english baseline broken english a certain amount but americans. There's a lot of us that we don't know like not even like all style like we don't know you know what i mean like. We can't count jan. We can't do a lot. And i think that says a lot is of. It's only really been in the last several years with the rise of popularity of of radon and Bad bony blowing get mad blowing up like going multiple parties and or bars indoor places where bad bunny is playing. I know for a fact that many of the people that are not rig spanish or understand. What what mr saying. But that's the mr verney. It's only the these last several years. Where i've really felt like. Oh there is a shift at least to acknowledge the the the large population of the american citizenry. That also speak spanish. But we're slowly getting there. Have you ever felt when you were playing overseas. You feel like a pressure to like learn russian. Learn anything like that da. Yeah i did. That's that's yes in russian. But i didn't feel a pressure to put pressure on myself like i wanted to know like i'm the type especially to is difficult because being a point guard overseas where your job is to communicate communicate. Communicate was going on in the game. If i don't know a certain being like you know like i had to learn to say like divide yet guy like let's go like i had to be able to talk to them in their language for certain sports terms. Because i need to be able to do that on the fly. I don't need them to have to be thinking on the fly. Like oh how do i translate that. Or what does she mean so. I took it upon myself to learn some things As a lot of people know my fiance ito dominican. She's she's from the dominican republic her parent. Her mom is but she was born in new york..

"From US west from audience worldwide along side it's okay no Jonathan ferro they say is the countdown to the open on TV and on Bloomberg radio I can confirm that in Frankfort Germany there is an absolute snooze out of a news conference everybody asking questions is as he one two three in a row I don't know how she does it if you would like to follow that you can on the Bloomberg terminal if you want to believe that subscribe on life let's get the price action about twenty minutes after the opening bell in New York City was set up as follows the pain the epicenter of older fans is overnight a Chinese equity markets downtown hot in United States belly any follow through whatsoever S. and P. five hundred futures coming in just a tenth of one percent in the bond market yields lower by three basis points told one seventy four year old on a US ten yet what's interesting all of our discussions here is you learn this in the office and frankly you learn it on the island of Manhattan is well that each bank is different each executive and set of executives of the banks are different of course all different challenges Goldman Sachs of course the transition and the chosen a guy the used to move ice cream at Baskin Robbins this is important cause trouble John you don't understand the coveted job in high school younger high school right you went to McDonalds she went to the elders the glory job was Baskin Robbins ice crazy I scream that's how you move that famous sell Michelman section to see our have you ever had an introduction like that before I've I've never thank you for having me I've never had a favorite flavor my favorite flavor was rocky road one introduction to I can talk the epicenter the conversation today with the city in Frankfort for Federer is a real conversation about what is going on the balance sheet David would love your insight just you'll take your opinion is that Q. eight boys than okay away what is that so the monetary policy that's been around and has been in place for a long time obviously has been an enormous stimulus when we when we sit here today I kind of think about you know the path forward I think one hour period this year after three made it free mid cycle cuts for lack of a better term that I don't expect a lot from within the context of this year obviously the balance sheets come down a lot over the course of last couple years all of this supports our impact the quality market so I think the fed has done a reasonable job managing accordion marketing with a speed bump back so I ask again that is the key way as they start to buy tables in a fantasy south expand again any time the fed uses its resources to affect liquidity in some way shape or form it's having an impact on markets I'm not gonna answer questions answered because I I don't think it's a black and white answer you you tell me what you yes the school was built only with the answer here is we get a lot of different opinions including the former member of gold was actually someone that drove your economics for Mister Dudley of the New York fed we get all these different opinions and what our audience wants to know is what you have learned from your prose on the desk of those reactions the movement that you've seen in the short term paper market one of you actually observed in the market they give you information about this balance sheet challenges well I I I I think that everyone observed that the fed had a very very significant balance sheet investment reduce that Balaji there'd been a bunch of regulatory inputs the amount of liquidity that banks need to hold right because the regulations of change and at some point you can reach a supply demand where for a variety of reasons some of them can be idiosyncratic wondering what time did you tax payments that the supply demand liquidity changes and the price for short term liquidity crisis and we saw that the fed responded appropriately by saying we want to make sure that there's enough equity in the system I think all the banks also I I know we did I can't speak for others we position ourselves so at the end of the year right we thought liquidity might be tight we have liquidity to contribute to that delicate question are you constrained by the new set of regulations are you happy with them or do you to see do you see a man and so you do finance better no we we we we are an adapter to the regulatory framework and so I think as an organization we've adapted very well over the regular over the decades of the regulatory framework it looks like a toy framework continues to evolve and so our job is to make sure we can serve our clients well that we have the right resources and we do not see we do not feel constrained to serve our clients well and run our business based on the regulatory framework we want to take on the market so the price action we've seen over the last couple of months the community the investment community the World Economic Forum pretty polarizable was saying in the mind without a whole range of views we had good nonstop mind it say that it resembles the world coming again we had but prince the bridge will decide the boom bust cycle as we know it is Alfa when you come down those two extreme views generally not a man of extremes so so I'd say that there will be booms and busts again at some point although I don't see one anytime you know anytime soon and it was I been around talking to clients of the last few days and that's one of the principal things I do on here you know let's see I I'd say I I see I see what I call kind of a confident middle road view of the current economic environment U. S. economy is in good shape manufacturing sector is a little bit soft capital spending's been lower than people like to see that the consumer is over compensating for that you're a little bit better head winds of the phase one deal helps a little but in the distribution of outcomes overwhelming likely scenario is a company chose long but the distributions about come in are you member this to Mr Verney a in August of two thousand seven you get a three standard or even four point one standard deviation moment is Goldman Sachs and for that matter your view of global Wall Street position better now boom busts if we get that jump condition that abrupt movement as we saw in August of two thousand seven banking systems position incredibly differently than it was positioned in two thousand seven there's been an enormous amount of leverage that's come out of the banking system there's been a.

"This is the investor coaching show Boeing klar talk about the world of money and investing okay so I saw something this week and I'm am is completed for you it was on fox business I make a comment about it Mr Verney here and there was Maria Bartiromo and it let me just to just take a listen to this good morning everyone big smile he we go again another round of stock market records first thing on Monday morning the first time ever the down looks very very very likely to open up off twenty eight thousand it's almost exactly ten thousand points of all what it was when Donald Trump was first elected what's behind this historic well okay okay so it number one talk about getting all excited and this is the media they get really excited when markets go up and they they get your emotions and follow my go to somebody get rich on you know it's really gonna go great and of course you know the the rest the week when that hot but it looks like in this particular day that this is recorded that things are you know the market's gonna hit twenty eight thousand and it's ten but here here's the point what did he say ten thousand above almost ten thousand above when trump was elected of course he's a big truck supporter sold stock market shall we Darryl closed in record territory Friday about the twenty eight thousand level market watch if you face joins us now look I've been doing this company American markets for over forty years now you've been doing it for about twenty five thought he is nothing like this I mean a rally this long this explosive it was in this before it really hasn't existed this is the single long boring market in the recording history is the most hated market in history we got the most disturbing politics in his food okay so you're basically saying out this is the best thing that's ever happened has never been this good and you know while we're really knocking off and I you know and listen I I I should I stay a political around here an arch I try to really stay out of that just simply because you know markets go up in all different types of markets with all our markets go up with all different types of president season and leaders and and the reality of it is is that I can I try to stay out of because I can get people really worked up if let's say you know the market yeah it is Scott again little bit shaky and maybe somebody's a little bit worried about that yeah the new president coming in is of an opposite party of what they like and what they want then you can end up with a situation where the person says that's it get now the market I can't stand this I'm really and I just yeah this person is of a different beliefs than I am and you know I'm gonna I'm out well number one that ends up going on in both parties and I'm not talk about that more in the third hour it's really really interesting there some some research on the cover and the third hour that she's just mind blowing so I says to stay tuned for that some naked spend a whole lot of time on that idea but I am gonna spend some time right now on this idea what he says have you ever seen a market like this and what is guess is of no never now is a great is run and Bob of bodies go in and and they're talking about how wonderful it is and how great the market is and what would that do if you're a trump supporter yeah you're you're you're kind yeah this guy rocks may look it look what he's done for the stock market look what he's done for the economy and you know if you're if you're a trump supporter if you all of a sudden start to see that somebody on the other side of the aisle is gaining traction against him in the upcoming election it was scary to death right now he says have you ever seen anything like this now here's the deal the Dow is up about forty five percent from the beginning of trump's presidency no number one it's only thirty stocks as is often like to point out is just one area of the market a but that's not bad right forty five percent and if you look at it you go will what did it do in the first three years of Obama's presidency wells up fifty one percent so you say well wait a minute he said have you ever seen anything like this in the guy goes now and you've been there I've been doing this for thirty years he says and you've been over twenty well wait a minute dot did they just miss the more recent history there when a fifty one percent in the first three years of Obama then let's go back a little bit further sixty percent you know it's just so you see I'm not talking about Republican versus Democrat here sixty percent in the first three years of Reagan's second term so you had even a greater increase in Reagan's second term now if you take a look at all the whole term of Clinton yes five hundred went up three and a half times you're a dollar good about three dollars and fifty cents in the S. and P. five hundred huge returns now if you look at small value in and largest small value stocks which are you know there's a different area the market around three point nine to almost four times if you look at Reagan's whole term S. and P. five hundred one up you know two point eight nine times just shy of three times small value stocks five times you go whoa US was phenomenal that's that's great man Reagan was great for the US market right phenomenal great will international stocks though went up just under six times again an international small company seven times seven fold increase now I've never seen a market like this and my point here is this folks you know on this radio station right fully rightfully all the host my friends here all pick on the media and the misleading information put out there by the mainstream media and it's all over the place we can get this so many times we look for information about financial matters and we look around we go well I don't trust you know it you know yes you maybe don't trust is big investor for Marcia blindly trust any investment firm or any insurance company or anybody for that matter you shouldn't blindly trust anybody but often we don't even think about the fact that we are listening to members of the media when a financial writer talks about something and we just blindly trust that they're being objective because maybe they say something in their writings that actually he agrees with something that we believe and what happens is when they say something and this is how a lot of times people get away with things is they will say something that yeah yeah that's true and now once they start getting you to and this is there is actually in sales this is what people will do in sales I remember one time going to a sales training and again the guy goes do this get the person saying yes get those saying yes asking questions were the the answer the question is yes and then ask another question the answer is yes and get another word the next question and the answer could be to the affirmative and if you get them in that habit then when you ask for the sales Hey we don't realize how easily were manipulated the reality of it don't let yourself be manipulated the media is not your friend when it comes to investing I don't care they they may be nice they re really believe in what they're saying finally trust.

"Money to buy a seat at the U. N. too good a consul and also they are giving you money to other countries to fight climate change in Asia and bill rolled in Africa the one is a dysfunctional organization and we must be able to fight for our country actually we are the only party that will have a foreign policies that is based on our security and prosperity for country thank you on the next opportunity for us to sing to respond thank you mystery in your question at this time to ask questions from the big crowds thanks for doing that I think the Canada for joining in taking part in this discussion the leadership is about who you're fighting for the choices you make and whether you're doing what's right for people and whether it comes to international affairs standing up to trump making sure we fight to build a better trade agreements that actually put Canadians for us for me the question really comes down to you do you have the courage to stand up to the powerful and wealthy interests the corporations that are having too much influence over Canada and I've seen so far in auto whether it's liberal conservative means they haven't had the courage to stand up and fight for people we're different we're in a few I don't work for the rich and powerful I work for people thank thank you Mr share your opportunity to respond thank you very much of course I will always stand up for Canada and Canadians interests and promote free trade and defend our interests all around the world but Justin Trudeau only pretends to stand up for Canada you know he's very good at pretending things he can't even remember how many times he put black face on because the fact of the matter is he's always wearing a mask he puts on a reconciliation Maschinen fires the Attorney General the first one of indigenous background he puts on a feminist masculine fires two strong female MPs for not going along with his corruption he puts on a middle class mask and then it raises taxes on middle class Canadians Mr Trudeau your a phony your fraud and you do not deserve to govern this country there will be an opportunity later during the open debate to defend each other first of all ms may if you'd like to answer and Regan's question I would actually like to answering his question in contrast what we just heard but I want to start by acknowledging that were on the traditional territory of the Algonquin peoples into them a glitch Canada's role in the world is an annual one we have a historic reputation for being an honest broker for being a country that stands out from multilateralism we have a commitment as a nation to be sustainable development goals which means our future as a world is built on ending poverty and encouraging the education of women and girls that's a cornerstone on top that we really need to renegotiate the World Trade Organization I make an organization that promotes climate action we need a world trade and climate organization we need to support the rule of law and human rights around the world because we are world leaders I thank you again the question how would you as prime minister protect Canadian interests and values on this changing world stage Mr lunch at prime minister is a bit unlikely however first the good evening everybody and thank you for having me and on behalf of the bloc Quebecois having leadership or showing leadership sometimes mean not making mistakes and arresting their chief financial financial officer of way way might have been a big mistake for which farmers growing soda or knows when pork or beef might have paid the price when you facing a powerful full like China you don't try to show by Serbs if you have only tiny biceps and this is something that has to be learned and we would support somebody with real leadership not making mistakes thank you for that continuing with our theme leadership in Canada and the world it's now my opportunity to ask a question on behalf of Canadians again to a leader chosen by a random draw so this question is for people's party leader Maxine dernier every other leader will then have the opportunity to debate him but Mister Barone yay you like to tweet so let me read some of your tweets back to you you called diverse city in Canada a cold and extreme multi culturalism you've used the word ghetto and tribes to describe newcomers whom you say bring distrust and potential violence on reddit soon Berg the sixteen year old climate change activist you called her quote clearly mentally unstable are these the words of someone with the character and integrity to lead all Canadians and represent us on the world stage this call the question you must tell the truth to Canadians if you want to be the leader of this country and what I'm saying about to explain the two Qataris and it is not the way to build this country yes this country is a diverse country and we must be proud of that but we don't need that is a solution like the multi culturalism act to tell us who we are we are a diverse country and we are proud of that what I'm saying because it's in line with the immigration I'm saying that we must have fewer immigrants to this country to be sure for these people to participate in our society so it is a great country but it's fine to have a discussion about the immigration we don't want our country to be like all the countries in Europe where they have the use difficulty to integrate the immigrants and I'm the proud Canadians and that's why I love this country and I'm on the only leader in this stage once you have a discussion about the level of immigration IBM party leaders debate in Quebec last night lively debate tonight because now it is Mr sings opportunity to debate Mr Barnier on that very question the temperament required for a good leader I mean Mr Verney after hearing what was just sad you could just say Hey man I messed up this is a pretty horrible to me that you made and really for me I mean should come as no surprise to you I believe a leader is not somebody tries to divide people were to pit people against each other a true leader someone tries to find bridges bringing people together that's what a leader does know it works for the people who need help not helping those at the very top which we seen with governments in order for far too long they've been working to make life easier for the multi billion there's the getting massive corporate tax cuts billions of dollars go towards them we see offshore tax havens continue this is not the way that held the country you want to build a future these socialist policy not everybody everybody it's not well ten gold in this country you must believe you must give back down on the he is not helpful I'm just gonna remind everyone this is the debate and the viewers do have a difficult time even hearing anything if you're talking over each other so this is the portion where the leaders can debate Mister Bernier and it is now the opportunity of Mr sheer to debate Mr very on the question of leadership well what Mr bring you fail to understand is that you can absolutely be proud of Canada's history you can be proud of our identity you can be proud of the things we've done and accomplished in the world while at the same time welcoming people from all around the world and that is something that has made Canada strong people come to Canada because of our freedom our.
Former Prosecutor Linda Fairstein Says 'When They See Us' 'Is Full Of Distortions'
"This Netflix series that has come out called when they see us. And it's about the central park joggers, the central park jogger and the central park, five. So this is long been a hot point of contention in New York City tunnel from famously called for the death penalty to be applied to the central park five. There's a group of five lack men, who were basically, accused of rape of a jogger. And then later there was DNA evidence, a person came forward and made an admission that he was the person who committed the rape only his DNA was found on the woman, the way that this has been taken by the press is that none of these other five people were involved in anything bad, and all of this was basically black men being railroad in New York City for no reason. Well, now Linda fairstein, who's a prosecutor in the case has a piece in the Wall Street Journal that is. It's pretty devastating to this narrative here's what she talked about. She says at about nine pm, April nineteenth nineteen thousand nine a large group of young men gathered on the corner of one hundred and ten th street and Fifth Avenue for the purpose of robbing and beating innocent people in central park. There are more than thirty riders the women in the win the woman known as the central park jogger Tricia, mainly was not the only victim, eight others were attacked, including two men were beaten so savagely that required hospitalization for head injuries, reporters and filmmakers have explored this story countless times from numerous perspectives. Almost always focusing on five attackers one female jogger but each has missed the larger picture of what happened that terrible night, a write in the dark that resulted in the apprehension of more than fifteen teenagers who set upon multiple victims that associate path Natasha's race confessed in two thousand two to the rape of malay-, and that the district attorney consequently, vacated the charges against the five after they had served their sentences had led some of these reporters and filmmakers to assume the prosecution had no basis upon which to charge the five suspects in nineteen eighty nine. So it is with filmmaker Annan's Guarany in the net flicks mini series, when they see us a series so full of destroy. Falsehoods is to be an outright fabrication. It shouldn't have been hard for Mr. Verney to discover the truth. The facts of the original case are documented in one hundred seventeen page decision by New York state supreme court Justice Thomas Galligan in sworn testimony, given in two trials and affirmed by two appellate courts, and in sworn depositions more than ninety five witnesses, including the five themselves. Instead, she has written and utterly false narrative involving an evil mastermind me falsely accused the five I was one of the supervisors who oversaw the team that prosecuted, the teenagers apprehended after that horrific night of violence, Mr.

"For sale among the merchandise. Dennis birds said he and a group of friends for shopping to beat Knicks may twenty fifth one of his friends Dan, or when one of his friends, Dan shade called him over and showed him, a confederate flag styled leather vest, that was hanging among the other merchandise in the store, quote, being an African-American, especially having grown up in the deep south as fest was jarring. To me, we've been beaten many times, I always thought it was a place. That's. Comfortable and safe for all people close, quote, now, I'd like to point out, then less. There's a person inside the vest wearing the vest in itself is probably not going to attack you. I don't think so you may not like it. That's okay. Totally get it. But the vest itself is probably that inherently dangerous to it is not an imminent threat. Now back to the story birds said that he and shade who, by the way, as a white guy took the vest to the cashier to express concern that it was even among the merchandise. They were then directed to a store manager and then finally to the store owner, Keith Busse. Theory. Mr. Byrd said the exchange escalated quickly, my that escalated quickly when Serey immediately got quote, aggressive and dismissive about his concerns, quote, he kept cutting me off and said we were trying to make this an issue, and it didn't need to be, but it would take it off the shelf. Okay. I'm just gonna stop there. So the owner of the store, and I have some experience in this, the onus star said I'm sorry, you're fended. I will remove the offensive merchandise. Solver there. That's not enough. Because why because we live in an age of perpetual, outrage back to the story, quote, this is from Mr. bird. He told us that they sold the vest for people who may need costumes for TV shows or a play. But my point was a confederate flag should never have been in the store with all the pride flags in close proximity to begin with close quote, Mr. Verney said, Mr Bush theory kept telling him to shut up and asked him and his friends to leave threatening to call the police if they didn't Seri told one the employee's finally to call the police. Now back to Mr. bird at that point, I thought about how this could look to police with me being a black man in this man store. I worried things really bad. So my friends, and I left on close quote, he did say that he asked his friends shade to run back inside quickly. Take the photo of the offensive confederate flag vest, have you ever Lauren Cohn owned a confederate flag vest leather or otherwise? No nor have. I the only thing that I own. I believe that has a confederate flag on. It was, I think Charlie Daniels album, vinyl album cover for many years ago. Right. Or was either Charlie Daniels, or liners, garnered one of those bands, I've since gotten rid of that, though. Okay. I told I tunes better not to vaporize my, my cuts, though that I transferred over there. So the police say, yes, a call was made, but no police report was filed just said, you know, everybody left no problem, Mr. series said he asked her to leave and had the police call because they kept accusing him of being racist, and he wouldn't leave after being asked to according to boost theory, the vest was accidentally put on the store's main floor rather than in the basement where he keeps all the other vintage clothing. He said the employee who is stocking mistake mistook. The confederate flag four a British flag. So the guy does have a little bit of wiggle room here. It's a vintage Kolding store. There's a confederate flag on the vest. I don't know if it's the only flag on the vest, a lot of times you see multiple flights on vest like this. Mr. Serra said, at the time he didn't fully realize the history behind the flag, and why it would be offensive. Well, I don't know if I buy that he added that he wouldn't want anybody to feel offended again. So he took the vest down out of stuff. So he did the right thing and his private business. Guess I guess. Yeah. Right. Okay. But this guy, Mr. bird and his friend, Mr. shade and others and a story gets more involved here. Where of set that the vest was even allowed to be in the inventory. Quote, I know I could probably nicer to them, but I just wasn't going to let them stand there and call me racist, I do see how I could have been more sensitive, but if they'd approached me approach may differently, this could have ended better for all of us, by the way, the beat Knicks shop is located right across the street from the progress bar, which we talked about earlier this week. Last week, I guess they cut the rap music all hell broke loose. I think they've reinstated rap music there, by the way, good to know later that night, Mr. bird, then shared a photo of the confederate flag vest, along with his account of the incident on Facebook. Oh, there you go. It has now been shared at the time that this was published more than fifteen hundred times I'm of course, contributing this. I'm sure the then, of course, correspondingly the beat Knicks. Facebook page was in flooded with dozens and dozens of negative reviews calling for a boycott of the store even though the store, I guess, has been there for an awful long time. And as a well regarded business in the neighborhood. The store responded to one of the recent negative reviews saying, quote, we do not sell that type of merchandise normally it was taken off the floor and the customer didn't want to stop going on and on about it when he wouldn't stop. He was asked to leave. And yes, the police were called if not to come to beat next, that's your choice. But based on the sloppy person's very poor listening skills, and insistence on arguing a point unnecessarily since the item in question was taken off the floor. This all seems irrational. Well, we live in a very irrational age, which, you know, keeps us social media platforms cooking and talk radio to. He's sue if he's going to hurt his business because he shamed them on social media. I don't know. That's a good question. I'd have talk to an attorney about that. I mean yelp yelp reviews are in the news, all the time, because a lot of times, negative yelp reviews about a business, maybe put up by a competing business anonymously. And so there's a lot, there's a lot wrong with the social media thing, Mr. area. Sure that beat Knicks is now racist in his treatment of customers. I've been on Halstead for over thirty years. So there are probably been some incidents that weren't perfect are things that weren't perfect, but that's not the intent close quote, you can read more block clubs Chicago dot org. But that is today's boycott does your outrage does your, thanks for sharing down. Good story. Here's David real quick. This is anecdotal. But David welcome to double. Go ahead, sir. John, david. Yes, I'm fifty four years old. I'm Caucasian I grew up in south shore, south Hyde Park for a lot of white people in the suburbs. They think it's Chicago ends at the science industry. And so I was born in sixty four and my childhood memory in a changing neighborhood. Was that most of the people in my neighborhood had the Tommy Bartlett, water shoal bumper sticker on the car? And if they were African Americans, they had swore to federal flag on their bumper or on weapons had us because they were proud to be from the south and in forty years, it's turned into something that was southern pride for black people, something other than that. Well, I I'm not a I'm not a strong defender of the confederate flag like what it stood for. I don't like the fact they seceded from union all of that. But I understand that cultural norms, definitely evolve, and change and nowadays, even having a vest as one of, you know, thousands of pieces of inventory in your vintage. Holding store even having a leather vest with a confederate flag. Patch on it. All my goodness gracious. Thousands of re postings thousands of negative comments because we live in a constant state of David. Outrage. Thank you so much. Appreciate your free feel free to call back here, anytime. "Beat the free throw line and get a lot of the go score a lot of points around the basket. He's still he's got time to develop also. So finally Antonio Brown has done in Pittsburgh. Urb-e he apparently met with Steelers owner art, Rooney the second this morning in Florida and says that the sweets had a great meeting with Mr. Verney today, we discussed a lot of things in the clear the air on several issues. We both agreed that it's time to move on. I always have appreciation and gratitude towards the rainy family and Steelers organization. He also went on Instagram live instead came as guaranteed money. They want to get to know me and work with me, tell them to call me, and he would also prefer that you big chest. Pass on that. I I don't have a problem with Antonio Brown wanting to take control of his career or one in guaranteed money or being done at the situation that he personally feels like he can't be successful in anymore. Not that I would have gone about it this way. But there was clearly some corrosion and their relationships in that locker room, and I think it's been going on for a couple of years. Now, it's not all one person's fault. It's not Antonio Brown's fall. It's not all Benz fall. Donald Tomlin's fall. Although I do tend to put the blame at the highest level of authority, which is Mike Tomlin, and then trickle down. Obviously, we know the quarterback is untouchable. You know that you have to try and do your best to maintain relationships with people like your, I don't know your number one receiver, isn't it possible? Antonio Brown's gonna be fine in the Steelers are going to be fine. It's just been really noisy. But the Antonio is going to somebody's. Yes. Tony is going to be fine. And yes the Steelers are going to be fine. The bigger picture to me is the Steelers because we've seen noisy wide receivers before. And we've seen them move on to other teams and everybody does. Okay, finding is. It's not just in Tony around. That was noise. Steelers. Ben Rothlisberger Zeman noises. The Steelers annoys me with the Steelers situation with Levy on bell. And.

"All right. Very marked. And in for Bruce and Pamela on this beautiful, Monday morning is president's day. Everybody. Hope you have a day off very excited to have with us right now. The attorney general of Arizona Mark burner. Vich is on the air KTAR and welcome to the show, Mr. Verney, rich. Hey, thanks for having me on very a pleasure. Talking to you. Thanks glad to have you here. And I want to jump right in here right away. I noticed that the the attorney general's office has been fighting this lawsuit that was brought against a state law. That was passed. I think it was in two thousand sixteen saying the state can't do business with any company that has joined the obedience, right? The the the issues against Israel is the BBS. CBS movement is basically it stands were boycott divest and sanction and what it is. Basically, you have groups going around that are trying to de legitimize the state of Israel promote terror policies and really put Israel on an island and Arizona is one of about twenty six states to pass laws prohibiting their respective states from contracting with groups that support to be. Basically the laws designed to prevent any sort of public dollars going to fund firms that support the movement lawsuits filed in various states, and right now Irizawa is vigorously defending our state law. There's an appeal pending up at the ninth circuit. And so we're gonna continue defend this all the way to the supreme court. Yeah. This is this is a great thing that you and the state is doing here. I mean, this this is something that a lot of college campuses where there's BBS reform is passion, suddenly Israeli scholars aren't allowed to come to those campuses academics. At those campuses aren't allowed to go to conferences, whereas Rayleigh, scholars were speaking. I mean, there's all sorts of just silliness that goes on with this. Yeah. I in fact, actually, I recently heard I think she might be bringing a proponent of media on a campus being tens of thousands of dollars in order to to make a speech. But what the what we're talking about these statutes is they're not designed to produce speech. They don't regulate speech at all. To do is basically make sure that if you're contracting to the state, you're not engaged in policies that basically undermine or perpetuate hatred towards the state of Israel. And so it's important state policy of the state as you know, American Israel. We have a lot in common. In fact, I was just there to two months ago after the election, and you know, when you look at the climate you look at their challenges with water what's going on with agriculture. We have trading arrangements Israel, Israel's on the cutting edge in the Middle East all over the world on stuff like fintech which is now getting into. So we have a great relationship with the state of Israel as a state, and we want to continue to do. So. And you know, my concern has always been that. There's a lot of companies that want a cot Israel to creep favor with Arab states are out of your anti-semitism. And we don't believe that. That's right policy for the state of Arizona. And as I said. I think that we have not only a legal obligation, but a moral obligation to defend the anti BCS legislation. The attorney general Mark burner rich joins us here on KTAR. So let me ask you. You mentioned a moment ago. There's a new suit that you have against the the board of regents ASU can help us understand. What what this is about? This quite simply is what has happened berry is our state universities with the approval of war regions have essentially become the largest real estate developers in Arizona and what they're doing. And the classic example is our lawsuit involves issue doing were they are renting out their tax exempt status to four profit corporations or private developers in order to give them a break and essentially build on property that's owned by the universities. So in this specific case, we're going after what we believe in an unfair deal where you have a large international hotel hotel chain Omni hotel. It basically gives them a free ride. They avoid paying property taxes because they pay off back here, she's property taxes. And as a result, they receive a competitive advantage, and we as taxpayers get screwed because we're not getting the proper amount of taxes being paid by the skewed multi billion dollar corporation. They're not paying your state sales taxes, as you know, when companies pay their state sales taxes, guess what that means less money for education. So this is one of these deals where I think no matter where you fall bury on the political spectrum whether you're left or right. You understand that this isn't a question left to right and think question, right or wrong. And this is wrong. It is wrong while tuition skyrocket. Public universities for state and university to be allowed to pick winners and losers in the property development game by renting out their tax exempt status does the university charge higher rents then because the developer doesn't have to pay taxes where. The benefit to the university. Well, that's part of the reason why this lawsuit going on very, I'm not sure I'm not sure if you know there there's any sort of quid pro quos as sort of other things going on. But we do know we do know that it's it's fundamentally unfair for a huge corporation international corporation, like Omni hotel to not have to pay property taxes. You know, if you're the mom or pop operation down the street. You are let's say, you're competing. Maybe you wanted to build someone area. Well, I'm hotel has less operating cost that means they have a competitive advantage. And so you know that that is something that should concern. Everyone were there's a fundamental fairness argument of why why the big company not paying his property taxes? Then there's also this argument about the create an unfair advantage for them, which essentially means you now have a state entity the universities picking winners losers. And then of course, there's the problem or when they're not paying their taxes not paying their fair share that is less. Money through four I public schools. So what they've done is essentially come up with a scheme. Were it allows the university to lead to Lisa plan to major commercial developers while the land being teens tax exempt status, and I think we should all agree that's fundamentally unfair. And it's something that's inconsistent our state law. It's disappointing to me. But you know, or the regions aren't all over this. But what's been reaction? What's their reaction been to that? I I would make the joke. I'm sure didn't hear the reaction. Very because I think, you know, every time we're somewhere somewhere talking about this. It seems like within minutes someone from the universities will be calling demanding for rebuttal time or more time or space. And that's one of the one of the issues of the problem is is that, you know, you know, Dr crow has become the most powerful person in Arizona politics. They are now engaged, and you know, the largest real estate transactions in Arizona history. They're doing deals with billion dollar corporations and companies in order to avoid those companies paying sales taxes. And so if something were a lot of people are afraid to confront confronts him or talking about and when the universities have a feeling some lawyers and lobbyists in PR people on their reaction. Does Florida's lawsuit has been to attack me personally? And if I say, look, if you wanna debate this you wanna have a conversation about it. We can. But I just think it's really really disingenuous. If a taxpayer here is someone who grew up here is someone that went to ASU love issue. I wanted to be a great university. I also think that it has to play by the rules, and we can't have someone or an entity doing something that's inconsistent with the constitution, and the relevant statutes always saying you've heard me say this before even with our first lawsuits ongoing about making the tuition nearly as free as possible. People do not like what the constitution says the statue statute say that they should change those otherwise, it doesn't matter who you are. Or how powerful you are billion dollar corporations your friends with you gotta play by the rules. What is fair is? What is fair attorney general Mark Vernon bitches with us in the one thing. I will say about the attorney general is he follows that to the letter is if the laws the law, he doesn't create the law he this enforces it so as always Mark thanks for being with us. Glad you take a few minutes out of your president's day holiday to join us during KTAR. All right, everybody coming up. We're gonna we're gonna get into some some vaccinations issues. None of.

I believe you Mr. garden, just, but it's important you see because tomorrow morning at six o'clock, the revolt begins revoke. Revolt. They have it all planned. I transmitted the code to the switchboard's last Monday. Tell me about this revolt. It'll begin in Washington, then spread to New York Madison Avenue buses lead the charge picture at Dr Klein SRI thousand buses roaring rampant through the streets. People running like rats in a maze looking for holes in the solid ground. And you really believe this will happen. Dr the worst part is there's no way to stop them. Now, it's too late. Dr don't you see? It's fair enough. I suppose we built them. We talked to think for themselves was bound to come the female machines will be the worst of all in the beauty parlors there more high strung well since there's nothing we can do about it. Mr garner's. Would you go to your room? Maybe I went to my ochre pay could make a deal before the police cars got me, it wouldn't make sense for them to wipe out the whole human race. Would it doctor? Of course, not Mr. gurney. Probably let us compete Lillo. Apple we're all good Americans. We always like them. Yes. Dr would you take Mr. gun into his room? God he's already been giving sedation. Yes. Glennon letdown. I Mr. gardening. Yes. Won't be so bad. Perhaps not only there's one thing that bothers me Dr one small detail. What is that? Those concrete mixtures may have made a mistake, you know, just high spirits and all that. If it got. So they like the flavor. Mr. gurney, try not to worry too much. All right guy. This one. You know kinds a man who's deception is about as fantastic as any I've ever seen. All the next patient for a wellness Clark going to have a quiet smoke. Sheen's revolting telephone strangling people. Lasted cigarette lighter. Why would work?.

"Now, I was really one of the people beating the drums for Elizabeth Warren before Bernie jumped in I wanted Elizabeth Warren to run because I really thought it was her time and she could've won. All you know, like the people Bernie group and the people who I love those people kind of nervous whether they're still talking to me now or not they'll find out over the coming. But you have to understand that they bet group started out as people Elizabeth, and we many it was ready for more. And it was ready for. Yup. Ready ready? I have some of their their posters, stickers and stuff here. Yep. Right. Yeah. Though with complicated. Right. I mean. But. You know? I just I mean, you said something when you know 'cause you save with great passion. You know, if not Bernie who. And I mean, I think that's we have. I think we have even though even the time moves both slowly and quickly in the Trump era. I think I think the primaries we'll reveal you know, you're going to have just an insane number of people running. And I think I think the primaries will be good sorting process. And you know, like I said, I could be totally off based about this. I mean, the primary could come and everybody else Bernie could just fall short of the standards. He said in twenty sixty the campaign that I I thought it was truly historic. I mean, I, you know, I wrote a wrote the burn identity is a short evoke about it. Because because I wanted to capture I mean, I sensed from the middle of twenty fifteen I really sense this work nature of his candidacy. You know? I I wanted to capture that, you know, so. And that's and that's never gonna change, you know. But, but but I do think times have changed. And otherwise, I think I think I, you know, I think you have to acknowledge that. And you know, I know I I'm not alone in feeling this way. You know, I was actually sucked to read a Boston Globe story that came out the day after my columnist. Quoted me, but also even more so for to Jonathan to Seaney was, you know, Mr. Verney sixteen we've also wrote a book and was on the nobody knows or or I'm in a mood. So sorry, pardon my bluntness, but nobody gives a shit who Jonathan to Seaney is. Nobody knows who he is. He ran for congress a million years ago. He wrote a book, and he followed understand. But but but but but not my point is not popping him up or down. But I'm just saying that, you know, I think it's you know, and also just talked to people go to lean and, you know, a lot of people, I know appropriate. The way I feel is not unusual. You know, I'm not like putting myself out there. I think. A lot of people who were enthusiastic about. You know, it was it was a different environment. I mean, it's a different situation when the choice was Bernie or Hillary versuns- what we're looking at. Now, we're looking at now. Me. I knew about all the last weekend. There were all the, you know urge Bernie to run kind of get togethers. I went for years ago or six years ago whenever it was now, and did it enthusiastically this time I didn't show up up because I'm not sure I love Bernie. I still think his ideas are the ones that will win. And I know maybe it makes me a hypocrite. I wish he were ten years younger. Because there's a big difference between sixty and eighty which is about what he'll be at election time. And I get as the chat room is telling me that. Well, he's vice president could take over. Yup. Who's that? And why don't you elect that person if they're so capable of being present? This is what and it pains me because I look at everyone else, Elizabeth Warren. I think lost a lot of credibility when she got behind Hillary Clinton. Although I still give her credit for not endorsing Hillary Clinton before Bernie dropped out because you have to know how much pressure she was under. But she's she's too good at being the politician instead of being the person that you just inherently believe and that works against her and the rest of them. I see them all together Kirstin gillibrand should go home now because she's a phony hypocrite you look at how much money so many of these people have taken they talk a good game..
