"If you've got like. If you've got like a ball bearing or something or a baseball bat, then absolutely just whack over the knows what person is out swimming or scuba diving with a baseball bat, maybe not that many. And they ask why. Yeah. That's nice. And I'm not so sure that people are gonna go swimming with baseball, bats. But let's just say a baseball is very unwieldly in water. The water itself is going to make it very difficult to to swing a bat hard enough to build a short over the nose. Well, it may be war. What I guess you do surface look for that fit because shark fin. And it'll be cutting through the water. And when you see the shark fin cut into the water toward you take the baseball bat and just slam it onto water just beat the beat the water around you, you know, for instance, if you out and you see some guy beaten hell out of the water with a baseball bat that guy knows what he's doing. Oh, yeah. Right. Yeah. I what are you talking about? If I see some night beating the hell of the water with a baseball bat. I'm gonna you know what I'm sending for a guy with a butterfly net. This is what I'm talking about misery, an asinine thing. A baseball bat just start punching to the nose. You know, the best thing to do is short in the waters that to be the one in the first place when you say that. That's the best thing to do. You. Make a mistake. Do you think that there's no sharks out here looks about as clear and beautiful day as can be like not too long ago up because California off of lompoc some surfers was out there. Look like a beautiful day. There was this free sale. And you don't use guys all that stuff. They go. Let's go surfing next thing, you know, shark K. So what do you do? Call shark central. Are you guys going to be swimming out, here know, the best thing you can do is be prepared with a baseball bat or what else with a baseball bat or? Bucks glove. You want to punch in the nose. Yeah. Let me get Jeff Downer on the line. Now doubt is gonna come on now. And I'm going to sound like a Turk attorney on the wing. Thanks a lot for nothing. No Jeff daughters on the line. But this here from temple City, California. Jeff in Newport Beach, California back in the early late nineties, you attacked a sand shark was at it. Sand shark to Mr. Mr. Santa's is not too far off you do have to be prepared to be beat up the shark in my case, I was able to beat it up because there's only about two feet long. The thing that I resented more than anything two feet long, man. Said a man eater. Okay. You go ahead, man. I'll just take a two foot long, shark and all this throw it on you. How about if you take a if you're taking a bath band and go? Hey, what's up, Robert? Hey, by the way, here's and I just drop a two foot shark into your in your bathtub out. Okay. Well, that's what I'm talking about. So that's what I'm saying that, you know, a general Mr. g Santos. Yeah. Jay santos. All right, man. You're not very member. Not that you're not memorable or anything. You know? So what I would suggest you do is you want to grab a hold of that shark. If it's too long by the tail and drag it out of the water and toss it on the sand. Real good. What do you do with the short if it's bigger? Let's say it's eight feet ten feet twelve feet. A tiger shark. Okay. That's a different thing entirely. And that's something you you gotta approach a whole different way. Okay. And and you know, you would approach a sand shark one way. A tiger shark another way and the sand shark you grab by the tail and throw it at you don't way out of the ocean. And okay. What about a tiger shark? Okay. The tiger shark. You approach it differently. What you do? They're leaking. God. Oh, you know. What man? I don't think. I wanna tell you then come on. Do you know what Jeff you don't know? Do you talk about tiger shark about the Sancho granted teal through it? You wanna know something on the day that I say..

"And we're back and speaking of holiday culture, people are really watching the Rudolph the red nosed reindeer film, the old claymation classic. And they're finally coming around to affect that. I learned back in two thousand ten when one of the crack raiders revisited it that this movie is wildly fucked up. It's crazy. It's amazing. How mean Santa is to everybody. I was going to say how dare Rudolph thing he's better than everybody. I know. No. It's actually not that Rudolf. It's just non stop bullying that goes completely unacknowledged like not, you know, there's the bullying from the reindeer's who are like, no Rudolph. Fuck you your noses red? But Santa bullies. Everybody around him like the elves at one point Santa's like stressed out because Christmas coming up, and for some reason they've made the decision that Santa doesn't deal well with stress in this show. And so the elves and sing him a Christmas song. To get them in the mood and much like Katie he's no fan of Christmas music. And they're like, hey, did you like it, Mr. Santa? And he goes it needs work. Now, I've got to go and like arms out and then later, he's eating dinner with his wife, and she's like, you're not eating your food. And he's like I can't eat because a how bed that stupid elf song was like sounds like a MO fucking Huma monster. And it's also like a good illustration of how like a toxic person like that can spread to everyone else because when Rudolph is born Santa looks at him and is like oh my God. I hope that knows goes away. And then his dad is there and bullies him for the rest of Rudolph's life in his leg hydrate. That makes him wear a black thing over his nose out isn't a magical ranger that can fly. Others. I don't know maybe dad work with all those unsafe chemicals voice. Maybe his child would have a birth. Slave owner. Right. Is what are you the F ails AFL CIO over here? All right. Thanks for his facial hair. Is definitely very like Habsburg empire. Just he looks like a Marion Kaiser friend, but at one point Santa tells Rudolph's father, you should be ashamed of yourself for having a son who has a red nosed and when Rudolf eventually redeems himself by just being useful to Santa for one night. Like, nobody nobody starts valuing him. They're just like God, can you tone it down Rudolph with that knows like that? Actually, that's a line. Even when he proves yet people are still like, actually, I think we have the clip of the night when Santa realizes that he can use Rudolph and he still treats them like shit. I've got some bad news, folks. Christmas is going to be cancelled. There's nothing. I can do this weather Rudo me. Tone it down a bitch. I mean that knows of yours. It was pretty obnoxious. Yeah. Those whistling deer in any other learn how to control his powers, right? Yeah. But then nobody is like you're all right in my book Rudolph. They're just like still fuck you, man. But thanks for lighting the way. I take a little bit of issue with the idea that Santa's only reason Christmas exists. This message. "Also had folks like Antonio Gado up in New York nineteen face ads for quote, unquote, being a big city rapper and not right for that district up there and upstate New York. So it's hard to the night. Just how central of a role that played? But I think sometimes people forget that the reason these political attacks are being made on the on these lines is because they have a currency. They have a political potency that of that really does fuel some things. I mean, you mean, they do they use this kind of rhetoric because it works. Exactly. I mean, I'm talking to voters across aisles in the last six months who have who have told me that their number one fear was this changing country or the number one fear was maybe that there were too many immigrants in their culture was being shifted here, and those type of things we can't separate from the electoral decisions that happened last night. So I don't think it's fair to say that all of this. Everyone's. Vote was necessarily controlled by those ideas. But we would be foolish to say that it wasn't top of my many people Alice. Could you chime in on that just in the the nature of of the rhetoric and particularly the wave at race factored in sure, I think it's important distinction in that when President Trump and Republicans talk about the caravan or specifically securing the border or or immigration reform? They're talking about this from a national security standpoint and even an economic standpoint. So that is the message that this president campaigned on and one on and I worked for for Ted Cruz in the presidential election. And that is an issue that that he drove home as well. Well, but Ted Cruz and Donald Trump voiced it in different ways. I mean, Ted Cruz had one line of argument about this Donald Trump in his very first campaign event said they're sending crime drugs rake, rapists, and some I assume are good people. So the rhetoric is not the same. I agree. I, and I will be the first one that I've said countless times that the tone in rhetoric and the tactics that this president uses to make his point I would not use. And I disagree with a lot of it. But the policies I support I support the policies of securing our border. I support his policies of of of ending the democrat catch and release policies. I I support his view on ending chain migration and the visa lottery and making it more of a fair and legal system of entry into this country. The way he talks about it in the way, he chooses to get his message across is not how I would do it. But the policies are sound. And that is why a lot of Republicans voted for him. And we're seeing Republicans across the board continued to stand by him because they may not agree with the tone in the tactic. But the policies are sound. We mentioned one of the candidates who hewed very close to Donald Trump was Ron to Santa's who ran for governor in Florida as a Republican Santa's has won that race. And here to help us. Says, if you're this strongly speaking out against the president as governor, how do you work with the Trump administration how money they need for the environmental plans that you have for the state? Unfortunately, for Mr. Santa's this is not Russia. We don't bow down to the president. We work with take, for instance, under governor Rick skied. He disagreed vehemently with President Obama President, Obama, in spite of that the humid- disagreement tried to send the state of Florida. Two point, eight billion dollars to build high speed rail governor, Rick. Scott said, no, thank you. We don't believe in Obama stimulus money as much as I disagree with the conduct and the qualifications of this president. And if he tries a sin, Florida, two point, eight billion dollars. I'm gonna take that money and I'm a put that money to work for everyday Floridians when I'm governor. My differences aside from the president, he's gonna find a willing partner in me who's willing to help him on infrastructure help on transportation, Rick Scott. Ni- who, again don't agree on a lot politically during this last. Storm hurricane, Michael. We spoke every day on the phone, talk a little bit about the environment which has been hammering your region. Your opponent. Santa's is now positioning himself as a Ted Roosevelt conservationist. He says, he wants to build reservoirs to restore water flow and prevent those toxic algae blooms. He supports a ban on fracking drilling off the coast, certainly different from your Republican sitting governor, Scott. My opponent can say anything he wants to in an election year, but I have to measure him by his six years in congress. So one who voted to undermine the Environmental Protection Agency, someone who voted against the clean water act thirty three times as the mayor afloat is capital city. We broke ground on a one hundred twenty acres Sola farm tripling the amount of solar energy that we produce and the city of Tallahassee where we sit above the Florida aquifer and where we noticed through our spray field operations that we were contributing to higher nitrate levels. And what color springs. Things we took the necessary steps to begin treating that water at the tertiary level, almost portable level to reduce the number of nitrates going into our what when we get elected governor, we're going to have a governor who believes in science, put some teeth back into our department of environmental protection where he have deregulated across that agency, allowing the biggest polluters to write their own rules is they're gonna come point where people like you have to say to people, we can't afford to have you wiped out time after time. Well, listen, you go to a issue that is going to be hugely at the top of our agenda. We recognize that we are highly susceptible to the impacts of global warming and sea level rise. And so we've got to start building a more resilient state. And yes, that in some cases will mean that they're parts of our state will were not going to be able to continue, allow growth to take place already insurance and actuarial studies are showing some of these areas that are gonna be underwater. That's Andrew gillum mayor of Tallahassee. Democratic gubernatorial candidate here in Florida mayor. Gillam. Thanks so much for speaking with, of course, take care part of our talk with Andrew gillum this past Monday. "What will you do to help save our beaches and Everglades from climate change and pollution from the sugar industry Mariel? I, I, they oughta know that when they elect me governor, they will have a governor who actually believes in science, our current governor and and and Mr. Santa's who has been less than forthright about his positions on the environment only saying he's not convinced that global warming and climate change is real and that humans are having an impact on it. Well, I. Leave the science on this. I believe that humans and that we are impacting and accelerating the warming of the earth. And so one will believe in science and we're gonna symbol some of the best experts that we can to help us develop a resiliency plan for the state of Florida. We said at the epicenter of the impact of global warming climate change in sea level rise. We now have saltwater tables at a rising above our, our natural bodies, our our aquifers and our natural bodies of water. We all have also over the last twenty years essentially handed over the role of the Environmental Protection Agency to the biggest polluters in this state. We've relaxed rules, relaxed, Reggie regulation. We've re relaxed a comprehensive growth management planning in the state of Florida as municipal elected as a city councilman for living years and and now a mayor, I understand what it means to have smart growth policies. And the truth is, is that what's the the. Pollution that is impacting our water bodies, particularly like, oh, coach, OBI is not a singular agricultural is playing a role including sugar, but also big development is playing a role. We are adding incredible amounts of impervious surface north of the lake that impervious surface has run off. It's increasing the level of nitrates in our in our natural water bodies and lake. Oh, when those discharges happen, it is now spewing toxic water into our estuaries and eventually colliding with with our oceans and creating the toxic blue-green algae that we see today, we've got to start regulating now holding big polluters accountable, developing a more comprehensive statewide approach to growth management and growth development, and then building a twenty-first-century transportation system in this day and who we're taking fewer call. You know more 'cause off the road and using smarter ways to trance to transport people around and throughout the state and throughout our communities to reduce them out of nitrates and obviously carbon going in. Our atmosphere. We are close to a break, but I want to at least begin as answering this particular question. James tweeted addressing housing affordability is key to our economic future. What's your plan? We're coming up against the break, but let me let you begin to answer that. Well, let me say it'll be quick. First of all, I will veto any budget that raises the Sadowski funds, which is intended to fund affordable housing in our state, and I will work with local governments to develop the kind of local ordinances that might help incentivize developers to build affordable and workforce housing in our state. It's a crisis all over Florida. I'm sorry we would give him. Did you say you would veto any budget that raises Sedarat, aided the rate did. Okay. So for the last probably eight years consistently, we have taken away Sadowski funds which are intended to pay for and incentivize development, affordable housing in this state. We've taken that money and put it in the general fund to pay for tax cuts. It's not some sort of a natural phenomenon by saying that you're looking for the fan dingo while I'm filled at there's a nutcracker. Yeah, here's cracker right here. CD's. What's that about what you crack nets, which. Are we back? I would back them sternly there is places there. Let's hear from his Donnelly. Go ahead. And they said that there was a salt. As I said, are you talking about the nutcracker? And he instantly put his knees together, reach down, get not instinctively, put your knees together to reach down and covered up and made a face, like how didn't you? I was trying to keep it light hearted. We had a lot of young young girls were frightened. They were frightened. They didn't know who these. He's been coming pit helmets, Jay, you're not a cop. Why do you just keep going into these places? I gotta go through this again. I'm out there trying to see why. If if I gotta go down there and interdict on nutcracker, then I would. That would be the first thing I'd say, yeah, this Jason is very police. The man's he demand is not cracking time. See the man see the man heavy as little the little. I know about Mr. Santa's I believe he gets all of his police information and his policing information from television programs, segments of one out of twelve and the drag that absolutely fetish ally as a lie. That I can understand why he didn't make it as police academy since he sounds as if he's swallowing, I'm sorry to say this a goatee nece God damn. All right. We have to. Jay Stiller, hey. Sped up, you've changed? Yeah, he is. All right. Let's get Jay back on the phone here and thank you very much, miss Donnelly that was unnecessary. But nonetheless, I j you heard MS Donnelly there. We're gonna be talking about stuff news. Yeah, events? Yes, current events? No unconscious events. Okay, fair enough. Good. Would you want to talk about a current event that sit in the not current event during a not current event in before now? Yes. Okay. Great. Yes. I guess this this shows how to we'd start already on the show where it was going to go. The answer is nowhere. Apparently let's let's we're getting started. Robin Wright. Penn will be back for wonder, woman eighty four spoiler alert for I guess what the woman regular not eighty four. She does in that movie. She's moated by. Is it a soldier? Shoot, Sean device audience, right on the beach. That's exactly. Yeah. She loves battle and then she gets in a battle. She's like, man, maybe I don't like battle so much. Nah, I only like battle really when it was winning battles. But now I'm not. It's a real turn off for me. I regret everything. I regret paying an Amazon warrior woman because I'm dead. Now, do you think she's getting a second chance in this wonder, woman eighty four think it's flashback all? I think it's probably I think it's probably flashbacks. There's got Eric, and there's going to be flashbacks to wonder, woman inherent them skier, just going to be like, but I don't know how to be a warrior woman. Robin Wright Penn, and she'll be like, I'm the president just do more swordsmanship. She'd be like, okay, I will. And then later she'll use that sold manship to win to win in eighty four, some sort of Nayoan drenched nightclub. But if Steve Trevor's back, everybody, I know I'm just saying, do you think there's just a possibility that you'd just be back account rule ask, you can't. Yeah, but I, yeah, back what she teaches her a lesson about wielding a sword and something and the power of doing a specific move and less her and Chris pine comeback as some sort of eighties Powell a couple man. That'd be different. Yeah, sure. Okay. What if it's an all Chris pine like it is Chris pine obviously, but what if it's not Steve? Trevor? I think they'll be interesting if it's just not him. It's a guy. It looks like well, the I mean, that's the that was one of the conceits of the wonder woman series that was both Steve Trevor's weather yet. It was so in the first season was set during World War Two and one. A woman was in love with Steve travel flash fold. The second season was in the modern era, and there was just Steve Trevor's grandson, who was the same ACTA and grandson, I think so it'd be son right. Okay. I can't remember those shows. Sure. Probably summit Shiva crossover with Gilligan's island. Look account rule it out. We certainly because I'm sure they would have it would have been a sane wishes on Gilligan's island skipper is teaching how to be better swordsman. I understand, but the skip, I don't know how to be the best. One woman I can bay and escape is like Comey a little buddy wept with the hassle with the hat on your must have. But I don't remember anything. I don't remember, but I remember watching glad I could pull the skipper because that's sure. I remember them watching globe. No, watching the Harlem Globetrotters play a team of robots on Gilligan's island. I remember thinking, what is this got to do with whatever this show is about. The premise always seemed to be that whenever there was a famous guest star, they would somehow manage to make it off the island. I would crash hollered Globetrotters and then they would somehow escape. I think race set after because. Guy and then they? Yeah, I think it was a movie like it was like a telly movie to Gilligan's island..

"Kind of garbage that, I guess we should expect to happen when an African American runs for office. How do you plan to deal with it? What is your campaign's response to that kind of messaging. Well, I we, we do call them run to Santa's to escalate this dialogue to a level where, frankly, weekend have a common in decent exchange of ideas. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for a serious opponent on the right to show up in the form of Rhonda's scientists to begin to talk about the issues that confront regular Floridians. He's gotten accustomed to calling names. He's a Harvard educated may and surely he knows his way around the US vocabulary, but he's chooses rather to embrace these kinds of dog whistles in bullhorns. Listen what I wanna talk about what Mr. Santa's is his efforts to undermine the healthcare system. His votes to give more money away to the wealthiest corporations in this country there by taking money away from regular hardworking, everyday Floridians I wanna talk about his efforts to. Prevent women from getting access to contraception. I wanna talk to him about what he plans to do to create this into a state, an economy where people can work one job instead of multiple jobs as a way to make ends meet what I'm not going to do. I'm not gonna follow him and Donald Trump down into the swamp of politics. My grandmother used to say, when you wrestle with pigs, you both get dirty, but the pig likes it. I realize that I am not going to be able to compete and win a pig fight with these guys. And so my job and frankly, the Florida border voters deserve this is a candidate a candidate for governor who's going to rise above that and talk about the issues that are important. And Mr. the scientists also has to be careful with his rhetoric because we know in the wake of Charlottesville than otherwise that that kind of rhetoric can be weaponized and become very dangerous for folks. And so he's now the nominee of the Republican party. He's got to act like it. This is an important job. It's a serious job for serious people, and I'm calling on him to be a serious candidate for governor. I deserve that. In an opponent and the people of Florida deserve that when it when they go to the ballot box to choose the next governor of the state of Florida agreed to debate you. Not so far as I've heard. I mean, he's not talking to anybody, but Fox News these days, but I look forward to debating him and talking to him about the issues again that Florida, Florida voters deserve to hear. If we invited you back on the show with Mr. to Santa's to debate him on this show, would you be open to doing that joy all day long. Date, that'd be there. Let me extend that invitation. Now, Ron Santa's I would love to have you back on with Andrew gillum and the two. You talk issues because I think the issues are what's most important there is a the signal in the noise in politics, and the noise that were already getting the apple research that's being shared about you is about this FBI investigation to the city of Tallahassee. That is probably going to be a part of your opponent's campaign. What is your response to those headlines? Yeah, so let me be very clear one. I am not under FBI investigation, and neither is the city of Tallahassee. In fact, we have been aiding the FBI in their probe into what I believe are the actions of a limited few. And what we said is that we want to be as open and transparent every step along the way. And if you look at my step says as mayor, we've actually created the opportunity for people to search the documents that we provided to the FBI and make them publicly available. Contrast that to how Mr. Disentis and how Donald Trump. Deal with the FBI. They've tried to undermine them. They tried to get in the way every step along the way, even going so far as the suggest, a deep state conspiracy to undermine his presidency that is irresponsible on their behalf. And I think they can take a lesson from our playbook which is to say, when the.
