"Nine hundred thirty three ninety three Let's go to Nick in Illinois. Haynick you're on the blaze. I this is actually Bonnie Bonnie. Frank there's something that seems to be forgotten and all of this impeachment hearing nonsense quite game I can speak from personal works. -perienced that Eric's wall absolutely did not fought live on the air and I know I I. I realized the fact that there is direct evidence of aww absolutely no hearsay. All right thank you thank you. Yeah yeah that's right. Yeah so swallow allstone Bernie Bernie Franks line right when they when he started on the air. Because Barney Frank was the original Gas Gate remember that his head like the lean. So we're Barney Frank. He would lean to the side swallowed. Just kind of like you know elevated but there you go good good commentary on that thank you the anatomy the anatomy of an on Air Fart. That was very nice explained. That's why I'm here appreciate okay Chris in Virginia. You're on the blaze. I I'd like to make emotion that we nominate joy behar all right she certainly blogs Expressed appreciation. I mean if there was such a thing anymore yes but if there ever was a douchebag I think joy behar is that dude. Oh absolutely did unbelievable. Two percent unbelievable I mean do you. Do you actually even turn on the news. Have you seen a report on that shooting to see that they weren't white nationalists now. She doesn't care nope she doesn't care. All she cares about is her agenda that that's it she's sitting. I chaired by the way. So Whoopi off. No Yeah Yeah here so this is a story to tell the truth about the story narrow. Just let her go. Yeah that's right all right so yesterday. Also Hank Johnson had some brilliance. He everybody's talking. What about you know why they should impeach Donald Trump and of course Hank Johnson Had his thoughts on the matter look weak. Well I tell you that brings to mind the picture of President Trump and presidents alinsky meeting in New York in September at the UN. And I- big chair for president trump. Little Chair for presidents Alinsky. Big Six foot. Four President Trump five foot eleven Mr Linski inskeep residents Alinsky and they're standing there and president trump is holding court and he says oh by the way no no no no pressure pressure shaking his head as if his daughter was downstairs in the basement. Duct tape is this is this. I mean there's an imbalance of power in that relationship it always has been and there's no way that the nation of Ukraine can stand up to the power to the power of the United States of America and president trump used that that unequal orbiting position. Because he's taller. Every is that what we're saying. A bigger chair. Yeah yeah he's taller and there I would guess. They had the same unkind chair. We should look votto. Look for that photo. There's no way he had a littler chair that donald trump usually have matching chairs out there. They're not going to mismatch act chairs by the way. That's a United States congressman. Yeah I know I know it's just it's pathetic. I mean that's almost as stoop. Maybe it's more than than my fear. Is that the whole island island will become so only populated that will tip over and And capsized I will say that for those watching on television and have seen the capsize video and the latest video from the hearings During the capsize videos hank was completely shaving. CLICHE shave his entire face Today doesn't shave. His face just has a little little little beard GonNa Throat area. I'm not quite sure. What is this the throwing to throw diers wrote? That's good for some. That is a good look. Good look for Hank. I'm not sure what AH okay. So because Donald Trump is taller JEN's alinsky. I guess he shouldn't even talk to him. Get him out that what the deal is that. You don't even talk to this guy's not the power dynamic there. I'm so tired of the power dynamic nonsense. They're both world leaders. Shut up what are you supposed to do by the way. There's no country as powerful the United States you nobody measures up to the United States. And that's trump point. That's why we that's why he got elected. Well I think I think I think another thing here. We're in don't overlook the fact that apparently president trump has kidnapped zilinskiene daughter and has her duct tape and bound in the basement is hat are and then who was it that was it was Nadler saying Who Was it was saying that Trump has a gun to his head and all this imagery they have nothing. They are flailing real time. Right before us. They have no case in now they're just going for hyperbole and effect it's pathetic Also had some great comments from some of the GOP senators and Congressmen on impeachment. Jim Jim Jordan explained things quite. They're never gonNA stop Congressman Green said yesterday. If the Senate doesn't convict it will not end. This is not what about Ukraine facts on the president sides. Let's he said he wasn't pressured. Ukraine is didn't even know aid was held at the time of the call and most importantly they did nothing to get the aid released. This is about one basic fact. The Democrats have never accepted the will of the American people three weeks ago. Nancy Pelosi called the president of the United States and imposture imposture and the attacks on the president started before the election July thirty first two thousand sixteen the FBI opened the trump Russia investigation. An spied on four American citizens associated with President Trump's campaign they took the dossier to the court and they lied to the court. Seventeen eighteen times didn't tell the court the guy wrote the dossier was desperate to stop trump. Didn't tell the court the guy who wrote the dossier was working for the Clinton campaign didn't tell the court the guy who wrote the dossier hey had been fired by the FBI for leaking information to the press and the FBI continued the investigation after the election on January third 2017. Senator Sumer said this if you mess with the intelligence community. They have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you. It took all three days for that statement to come through January six and trump tower. Jim Comey briefed. President elect trump on the dossier the dossier that the F. B.. I already knew was false. They do it so that they can leak it to the press. The press will write about the fact they brief team. The president was told. He wasn't under investigation when in fact they were investigating him and trying signed to trap him at that meeting and of course. They continue their investigation. After the inauguration we deposed Jim Coleman in this committee last congress he said after after ten months at the FBI investigation. They didn't have a thing combing gets fired on May nine twenty seventeen eight days later Bob Muller gets hired and we get to years of the Muller Investigation One thousand nine hundred forty agents five hundred warrants. Twenty eight hundred subpoenas but zero collusion Democrats. Don't care about the facts. And and they're never gonNA stop. Whistle blowers lawyers said ten days after the president was sworn in who has started impeachment to follow Sixteen Democrats on. This committee voted to move forward with impeachment before Bob Muller ever ever sat in front of this committee and testified before president trump of presents lipsky ever had their call. They're never gonNA stop their attacks because they can't stand the fact that President Trump is actually draining the swamp and doing what he said he would do and most importantly getting results taxes taxes cut regulations reduced economy growing at an unbelievable pace lowest unemployment fifty years gorsuch and Cavenaugh on the court out of the Iran deal embassy in Jerusalem hostages home from North Korea. And oh by the way I knew Nafta agreement coming any day now. They can't stand it and they're never gonNA stop and it's not just because they don't like the president isn't it. It's not just because they don't like the president they don't like us they don't like to sixty three million people who voted for this president all of us in fly over country country all of us common folk in Ohio Wisconsin Tennessee and Texas. They don't like us. That's wow that's really good lane announced so true. What did he say there? There wasn't true all of that was dead on the money. She's he's really good is should be speaker of the House the best that around a little bit. Yep Jim Jordan Speaker of the house give it a year a triple eight nine hundred. I'm hoping that the same thing that happened in Britain happens here in the upcoming coming election. I hope we show these people disgusted. We are with them and get them all out of there. We get back to house and increase the majority in the Senate and and keep the presidency. So here's a thought on on those that are on the fence trying to figure out if they're gonNA vote for trump or not. Okay if a lot of these states are now now gonNa do the popular vote of the nation for their electoral votes. Okay then then do you want to basically Screw over these liberal states. These blue states dates by voting. Even though you live in red state or somewhere or whatever and it's not gonNA make a difference one way or the other. You could change the electoral votes of these blue states. That are now going with the national popular vote so you vote for trump. You're actively flipping these states even though it may not affect the outcome in your state. I think that's that's an argument for voting for trump. If you're on the fence you know. Hey I don't have this time. Well you WANNA screw all these states vote for trump by the way Speaking of the power or dynamic in the little teeny chair that they sat him. It's it's ridiculous the chair. They put him put him in a little teeny clown chair gonNA show it to you in a second. Oh well there it is right there. Look at that that little team this year. "Standards Edwards apply as we've noted this tweaks impeachment hearings will feature several key witnesses in the inquiry into whether president trump pressured the president of Ukraine to investigate potential twenty twenty rival Joe Biden in exchange for military aid. Something House leaders now calling bribery. The most anticipated witness will probably Gordon Sunlen the US ambassador to the EU a witness Nisa who said he overheard a conversation sunland had with president trump about a potential swap of aid for investigations. Said afterwards Sunland told him that president trump cared only about that he did not care about Ukraine. BBC's journal Fisher joins us from Kiev where he's been taking the measure of Ukrainian reaction to the impeachment. Inquiry Jonah are people paying attention to a certain extent. I think they were following this quite closely at the start when we had the transcript of the of the telephone in cold between Ukraine's presidents lend ski and president trump went. That was released. I think people were quite engaged in particular because it gave them a bit of an insight into how their own president operated. I think since then attention has largely waned as the story is really moved into these This impeachment inquiry in Washington Internet itself. People here are kind of slightly bemused. I think you have to be said and I think the political class here a deeply worried about the way Ukraine is being being described and portrayed to their slow. Because you you know you've been watching those hearings the same as everybody else and Ukraine is not coming well out of it lots of Pretty Sena Genia. American figures are coming forward and saying some pretty derogatory things about corruption in the way things work in this country so I think those people who often engaged a pretty concerned about the reputational damage That's being done to this country. We also understand that anti-corruption activists are very engaged because some of the figures that were in the trump Giuliani. Giuliani orbit. Are the very people. They've been trying to fight who they feel have been trying to take down their country through corruption to find out that the trump administration has been rubbing and shoulders with them. That's been upsetting but presidents. Alinsky what does he said we know he sat down with some press. After this all broke and said something like now want to the world famous. But not in this way What does he said? Initially when when presidents Alinsky was asked for comments about this. You remember the there was a press conference in New York. Aw when presidents Alinsky sat down with President trump he said there was no pressure on. We've heard President Trump repeat that numerous times that There was no pressure. It was a perfect call. What we've seen in the in the weeks since then? Is that evidence coming out that there was indeed things going on behind the scenes in text messages and communications indications between aides to Mr Linski and the various official and irregular lines of communication From the United States but the decision has been taken and it seems to be largely accepted within the the senior echelons of of government And and amongst the elites here that Ukraine is only going to harm itself in providing further details about those interactions which is why really we've heard the details coming from the United States and not from the officials here who who were dealing with the various diplomats in American channel. Well it's sort of. We're hearing it described a sort of an existential problem right now because they've got this war in the East russian-backed separatists this the east of the country Ukraine which broke away from Russia. YEARS AGO is trying to keep Russia out of its affairs. It needs American support including that military aid to to do that. I I'm wondering if some Ukrainians would have sympathy for their president if indeed turns out as some of the witnesses are saying there was this you know this offer this. Bribe to provide the aid only if these investigations happen because this country desperately needs the US right now yeah. That's right. Ukraine crane is is in a horrible position. The pressure that has undoubtedly been put on This new president you have to remember. Presidency is a complete newcomer. It's in the political world. He's really been thrown in the absolute depend here with with this crisis emerging so quickly in his presidency. Ukraine cannot afford talk to lose that American support which is why they've been treading so so carefully here and they've been so worried when that military aid that nearly four hundred million dollars of of US military aid was held back. It wasn't just about the equipment That wasn't gonNA come this way But it was really about the symbols symbolism of it because Ukraine Ukraine is really needed to feel that it's got United States backing it up if Russia's should step up their aggression in the east at the moment and following this very difficult who summer. I just. Don't think that the Ukrainian government here feel that they've got America watching the back any longer well with that It reminds us of a Kev Post Post newspaper front pages. The English speaking newspaper in Kievan This front page went. Viral Harris shoot headline that said Shady cast of characters and underneath was president trump right under the word shady and then all of the People who have been involved in what has been a huge scandal We're feeling about DONALD TRUMP and Ukraine. It it does depend to you. Speak to but dating back as far as sixteen people here have been deeply deeply worried about donald trump. Even when he was a candidate he was already talking about the possibility of accepting that this peninsula here in Ukraine Crimea. Nia that it should be accepted now. As part of Russia Russia annexed it back in twenty fourteen so already people were concerned about President President trump. And what he might mean for Ukraine and the strength of his support for Ukraine In it's kind of conflict conflict with Russia in the east. I I think those concerns of only really grown over the last several years yes. The trump administration has approved a lethal lethal assistance the provision of actual. Aw Weapons to the Iranian military But what has been coming out over the last several weeks about interactions behind the scenes. It really has become become clear that the trump administration is not A rock solid back of Ukrainian authorities and indeed I think a lot of Ukrainians means here Would not be sorry if either either through the next election or through other some other process pop. The impeachment process that Mr Trump was to be moved removed from office. His I don't think they would be that many Ukrainians who who are sorry to see him go. BBC's journal Fisher from Kiev the capital of Ukraine. Joe Thank you a pleasure. Thank you in Hawaii record breaking heat. This past summer has signed his warning. The result maybe the worst coral bleaching that state has ever seen coral reefs protect coastlines shelter fish which become food bleaching can kill coral on Oahu who researchers are now engaged in a one of a kind effort to document the reefs. "He's doing the off the bookstop whether it's legal or not whether whether it's impeachable or not others will decide here. He was yesterday talking about this very news that hit him tonight. What do you do if you get subpoenaed. Take a look. Are you going going to digital operate with the House Intelligence Committee. That is a question that has a law a lot of application. I wouldn't cooperate with Adam Schiff. I think Adam Schiff should they removed job. That's your answer. You're not going to say that. I said I will consider it. You said you wouldn't do it. I will not cooperate with that said I will consider it to get into the substance of this if they've already admitted they wanted a foreign government to help donald trump's reelection to go after rivals and Rudy he's admitted and said Hey I went out and did it. What exactly is the substantive or messaging benefit to the running hiding at this juncture way to lay the lay obfuscation hiding the facts. Remember everything we've seen in the press up to two now has fundamentally been. Let's say that the whistle blowers not credible. Let's say that they changed the form that the whistle blower let's say and and fill in the blank everything but the fact that we know that are already out in public and that they've themselves have admitted so all that leaves him all that leaves him is bluster talk to mark's point. All you can do is try to be hard in public ziff. He's outraged but they just can't hide you can run. They can't run but you can't hide and mark you can't hide from the comedians either rudy being back in the spotlight means at the debut which a lot of Americans watch and people who don't follow the news. They get their little bit of mood from this. This was how it went down on us and Alpha Rudy. Nobody's GonNa find out about illegal side dealings with the Ukraine could or how we try to cover up the side dealings great or are we plan to cover up the cover up really. Where are you right now. I'm on CNN CNN right now. Get Out of do stay off the phone panels. Look bad right now but I got our top the guy on this good. Let's get him on the phone to Rudy may have been able to bluff with the president coming. President and Robert Mueller and the trump people prevailed. He never testified testified so he could say oh. There's nothing Giuliani is a civilian. He's not Donald Trump in the White House and the House impeachment process is not Robert Mueller who was predestined not to indict because of the DOJ rule and also the trump people said oh you cannon died. US Junior said I didn't really understand campaign finance lock Giuliani does and already two Republican looking prosecutors at the DOJ with Juliane Bruce Fine and Jeff Harris who was his chief of staff have said he's vulnerable prosecution because he clearly wearily try to get something of value. Whether it's in exchange for not doesn't really matter because they saw something about you from afar national. I should right which is per se illegal but that goes to the smarter lawyers which include now attorney general bill bars. We've been reporting. I seem to be looking for more distance. Which ULTA raises the question of whether they'll they'll spend less time in green rooms and more time in law office preps Traff prepping depositions Mark Greene. Thank you so much. Stay with me. I want to turn now to some of the other confusion Donald Trump strategies as he faced the impeachment probe. We're going to be back with a special report on that. In thirty seconds. Many of the people who defend Donald Trump for a living and thus have experienced with all kinds of scandals are finding themselves in trouble lately. Take a look. Daddy comes running to the rescue. The vice president is saying what happened. Sir that processor. That's not what happened. The European Union the Obama Administration take things don't International Monetary Fund Pro Clean Government activists in Ukraine thought that the prosecutor was not prosecuting carajas president president trump replies. I would like you to do us a favor though you just added another word no favor though yesterday assume the transcript one having the transcript the White House put out read back to you counts as a hard question. You might be in a hard spot now. That was a top ranking Republican House Kevin McCarthy those words as I mentioned for your factual background they come from the trump. White House other trump supporters also finding any ways to get tripped up. Why did he use three private lawyers to get information on Biden from the from the Ukrainian Indian government rather than go through all the agencies of government to different never want honoring Mike Question John Durham as you wait a minute. John Durham is investigating something completely different. Even I'm asking you a direct question. Why did the president use private attorneys rather than go to the State Department. If you don't know that's an acceptable the Lanta that is what these exchanges are looking like on nonpartisan media on journalistic inquisitions and whatever you WanNa call what is is a sometimes friendly path over at Fox News. This is how it's playing now today. You Have Donald Trump calling for the arrest of a member of the United States Congress who who gets what is probing the White House Adam Schiff and breaking out the word treason also re tweeting warnings about a potential quote civil civil war. That's a reference to civil war by the sitting president if he were to be impeached. That's a step too far for one. Republican lawmaker who says that common is now repugnant. Trump's strategy is clearly a mix. There are trump AIDS. We're trying to do the usual thing of attacking any the information they get and finding out that information came from them. It's the transcript then there are these ways of dialing it up and talking about treason as if that is going to make you look more innocent now look this Ukraine investigation. It already is produced. What the Russia probe maybe did not clear evidence from inside the White House of the president's acts and maybe that is why this one is so much harder to spit. Now we are back with Donald Trump allies. I want to bring in John. Nichols national players correspondent for the Nation magazine and back with US former prosecutor mile widely John I turn to you as someone who's followed many of these things with an eye to the facts and not the way Washington usually works. How do you think these facts are playing out in the real world world with real people getting some sense. We just showed some of the clips that maybe this time is different. This time is different and one of the things that I think a a lot of people in the trump circle don't quite understand because many of them are frankly very inexperienced with Washington and frankly inexperienced with a lot of governing issues. Impeachment is different. People do understand if they're of a certain age. They may even remember Nixon. If they're a bit younger they will remember obviously Clinton and at the very least they really did learn it in their civics class. I can tell you that I have a fifteen year old daughter who's in civics right now and impeachments a really big part about what folks learn about the constitution and so this is a subject object that people can focus in on and they can quickly wrap their head around and the information that has been coming out has been damning toward the President President it is possible if the president had seen this coming a little better and if the White House had developed a really good war room on this that they might have been able to have some counter messaging but at this point Ari I can tell you as somebody who covered the Clinton impeachment and who's been around a lot of these things. I am amazed seized at their inability to develop a clear line to counter what they're getting hit with well. That's what we've seen in our report and getting I I make it a point as as you may know to have have all people on and we had a trump campaign official on last week and the Mark Lauder and he's welcome to come back but he started the interview by denying that if there was an effort to go after Biden and by the end of the interview said Yeah. Maybe there was an effort and if I did something wrong. That's okay which again shows the message problems. You just mentioned engine. It shows a substantive problem which is why would you need a foreign government to do that. In exchange for aid I mean the whole thing doesn't wear well with that in mind. John also take a look at another exchange here on sixty minutes. You say the president has done nothing wrong. I take that to mean that you find it appropriate that the president asked Mr Linski for an investigation of his Democratic rivals questioned before the House of Representatives is to impeach the president based upon on a phone call that the speaker never even heard Mr leader with great respect to you. I apologize for interrupting but these are the White House talking points that were emailed to the Congress earlier this week. I've never seen one talking point from a White House John. It's tragic to be honest. and I have to be honest with you I. I'm not sure that Kevin McCarthy was up for this. He is somebody the WHO as you'll recall is sort of fallen into the speakership would Paul Ryan and Ben Better prepared. Perhaps with someone else have been better but at the end of the day this this is the key element of it. They seem to believe that they can go on argumentative that they can just have a fight about this and you know quibble about words claim they've never seen talking points which is an absurdity rather than actually going to the heart of it and to go to the heart part of it. You have to understand what is at stake here and I guess I would just sit up in the simplest ways. If you understand what the founders were thinking about when they wrote an impeachment power into the constitution they were coming off a revolutionary war against a very powerful king. They wanted to make sure that the president of the United States and the people in the executive branch were not fooling around with other governments in secret ways as that might undermine this new American experiment and so I think what they need to understand is they're talking about core premises of y impeachment exist and they keep stumbling into it. Yeah my well. I agree with John I will I will say that I don't even think commute to be a fifteen year old in an in an in a civics class to understand that there is no narrative. You can spin here when you have a smoking gun. That's what's different here from Robert. Muller Robert Mueller was complicated but let's also remember that here we have a president who who was individual one in in a filing in federal filing when his then attorney Michael Cohen was pleading guilty including putting hush money payments. This is the same behavior that Robert Mueller actually pointed to also in terms of obstruction of justice where he found substantial evidence. One of the problems administration has is this is a pattern of behavior. They were saved by complexity. This one is more simple but you can't spin a black and white fact and that's why they're struggling right now..

One of those concerned Democrat Adam Schiff the chair of the House Intelligence Committee found the issues deeply elite disturbing. I also found them very credible. Understand why the inspector general credible some Republicans have have defended Mr Trump's activities routine communications with a foreign leader. President trump called it a quote nothing call today Joseph Maguire. The Acting Director Director of national intelligence is set to testify in front of the House intelligence panel. Here's Shivani again. This is going to be front and center because he is the person in who hasn't blocked that whistle blower complaint previously from being sent to the Congress and he's got a lot to answer for. We'll have the latest on what he says has in our afternoon edition meanwhile across the Pond British lawmakers confronted Prime Minister Boris Johnson who hastily returned to London after the UK's supreme. The court found that his decision to suspend parliament for five weeks was illegal. It was a pretty raucous session. Here's what he had to say. This parliament don't miss the stand aside and let this government get done all bring a vote of confidence and finally face the day of reckoning recommend. Mr Johnson also said that he thought the court had been wrong to pronounce on a political question at a time of great national controversy. So what does this mean for Brexit. Here's Jason Douglas from London. Okay well. Things haven't really changed that much. We're still heading for an extension to Brexit brexit and we're still heading forward election. What happens next is Mister. Johnson is GonNa Attempt to renegotiate the withdrawal deal with the European Union even if he manages to come back with a new deal unlikely that parliament will vote for it and Mr Johnson of forty for 'em is a little bit boxed in after that because parliament has already passed a law that says if you can't get a deal then you've got to ask for an extension on Mister. Johnson has said that he would rather die in a ditch than do that so we're still in this stalemate eight. That was Jason Douglas in London now our main story this morning. Have you found yourself priced. Out of a city like New York are Houston latest data from the two thousand eighteen census shows. You might not be alone for the fourth straight year. People between the ages of thirty five and thirty nine have left cities with half a million people or more Charlie Turner has been finding out why from Janet Adamy me Janet in recent months the Wall Street Journal has reported on various migration trends such as young people moving out of New York City and millennials moving to the suburbs. This is millennials and the youngest members of Generation X. have moved out of the nation's biggest cities this was happening in New York Chicago Houston based in San Francisco Las Vegas Washington and Portland. There was of course pretty big influx of young people into cities after the recession and what this latest data data shows is that you know for a couple of years. We've had these disdain declines. There were questions about whether maybe it was just an anomaly of a couple of years or or if this millennial generation was finally starting to move into that next stage of life where they were getting married and buying houses and the big question was are living in a stay and be different than previous generations or are they going to uproot and move to suburbs for more affordable housing more space better schools and what we're seeing in this pattern suggests that as they do get older yes they are starting to act more like previous generations and lust like the kind of anomaly of urban dwellers they have been for for the much of this past decade and we're talking about numbers in the tens of thousands cities with more than half million people put together lost almost twenty seven thousand residents among the ages of twenty five to thirty nine this was last year and although this was. I guess half of the drop in two thousand seventeen and that's still a sizeable decline fine. I think the bigger story here is the pattern so a large batch of cities. Losing tens of thousands of people in the whole scheme of things is not that significant but we had in the middle of the decade. Was You know a pretty steady inflex for a couple of years and I think developers other real estate professionals schools employers to a certain extent have kind of been paying close attention to whether this remains a net inflow or a an outflow and the fact that it's four years of outflow starts to tell us that there's some different behavior going on even if the numbers aren't huge the drop laughter was driven by decline in urban residents. I guess older millennials thirty five to thirty nine. That's right among the youngest millennials in that that very oldest cohort of the Gen Z. That follows them. They are so moving into cities their numbers in the largest it just cities are are marginally positive but where the losses are really happiness. Urban residents aged thirty five to thirty nine again. That's the age at which you no. The people are oftentimes making the decision about where they're going to settle down. They are either you know well into or staring down decisions about schools and what we're finding. Is that that age. Group is a point at which people decide that they don't want to stay anymore and you mentioned schools aren't those basically the primary the reasons they don't like the schools in the big cities and also the cost of housing for the space that they're getting that's right housing costs in general appear to be the biggest factor her and that's in cities that are relatively affluent as well as ones that are struggling more interestingly the there were some research out of Boston. University that found in a study of mirrors errors that only thirteen percent said that the housing stock in their city fit the population's very well so there's a real mismatch between the kind of housing people want and the kind of housing housing that's available and said he's not it does appear to be the main.

"Much of Donald Trump's tenure as president has been marked by slow motion drip feed scandals allegation denial investigation and then a slow fade eight from the news of the controversy surrounding his phone call with Ukraine's president thought Amir's Alinsky is unfolding a PAC- thriller today the Acting Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire will be grilled about a whistle blowers report of the call for months. Talk of impeachment hasn't risen above above a murmur this week House Speaker Nancy Pelosi at a change of heart. I'm announcing the House of Representatives moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry. Glad the president must be held accountable. No one is above the law. Mr Trump has admitted that he spoke to his Ukrainian counterpart about investigating Joe Biden his probable rival in next year's election. The question now is whether the president used hundreds of millions of dollars in military aid as leverage to get his bidding done. A majority of the House seems to think so in the Senate so does top Democrat Chuck Schumer. Do any of my Republican colleagues think this phone call reflects the president pursuing the national interest or was he pursuing his own political ambitions every Republican. Everyone needs to answer this question. More detail lies within the whistle blowers report of the call which may yet be he made public so far only congressional intelligence committees have seen it but there's plenty to chew on even in the account that the White House released yesterday this. This isn't a verbatim transcript. It's a account of the call that was made by an intelligence officer whose job it is to listen into communications between the president and form. Nita's jump radio is a United States senator but it shows fairly clearly the president donald trump badgering the newly elected president of Ukraine Vladimir's Alinsky for his help in getting hold of damaging material on the Biden Family Hunter Biden who had business interests in Ukraine and his father Joe Biden who at the moment is the front runner in the Democratic primary president trump also urges Mr Lansky to have a word with his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani and also with the Attorney General Bill Baugh towards that attend which is unusual to say the least and the controversy around this has a lot to do with the potential for there being some leverage by Mr Trump. Just that's right. The main gene form of leverage it appears is military aid so just to back up a little bit. Ukraine vulnerable country invaded by Russia trying to put itself back together. I alive America. America has an interest in Ukraine being sort of stable and able to fend off the Russian Aggression Congress appropriated money in the form of military aid for Ukraine the White House then put a hold on it unexpectedly with no explanation for the Ukrainian government and more or less the same time president trump speaking to the president of Ukraine Vladimir landscaping urging him to investigate the Biden and so many people two and two together but in the account of the cool does no explicit mention of the quip record this where Donald Trump says you know if you do this for me then. I'll make you got the eight okay. Let's just consider the facts that are out there there at the moment and and agreed upon what is the best possible light that all of this could be cast in people who are defending the president what fits the evidence that exonerates the president of the most best-case case defense he has is to say. I was merely pressuring a foreign government to look into corruption allegations. That's the sort of thing that America does all the time nothing unusual about that. I didn't offer him aid in exchange for Doug on a political rival and the worst possible possible light that lines up with the evidence we have the worst possible light is that the president used public funds appropriated by Congress to extort material from a foreign government that would help him in his campaign so with the release of the transcript then and heightening volume of of this discussion Russian what Mr Trump and Mr Linski said yesterday President Trump ski actually had a press conference together at the UN. Did we had I think good phone call. It was normal. We spoke about many things and so I think you you are added that. Nobody Push Bush me. Yes No. I said that president trump didn't place any pressure on presidents scheme but that's not the case. If you read the accounts of the cool a lot more light could be shed on this by the the whistle blowers report which still hasn't been seen by the public but it has been seen by a few lawmakers when will more emerge what happens next. There's a possibility that the whistle blows reporters declassified and we'll get to see it sure to that I'm Maguire's Jews testify later today. He'll be pressed on Watson the whistle blows report by members of Congress and mentioned he will stonewalled on that but he may give give some details and then members of Congress will also be asking him about the circumstances surrounding his appointment. There's something strange the timing there as well Jason in the previous Director of National Intelligence Dan Codes left his post shortly after this call between trump and Celeski and even on the basis of what is known already. This has already sparked an impeachment inquiry. How do you think that's going to play out well. Democrats are saying they don't want it to drag on forever at likewise be done by Christmas at that point when it's finished they may or may not drop articles of impeachment as a dispute within the party whether such articles in theory ought to be narrowly focused on Ukraine France story or broader taking some older allegations around obstruction of justice and abuse of power and so forth then if the house decides to go ahead and impeach age the trial then moves to the Senate way. You'd need a two thirds majority to convict the president that is extremely likely I think at the moment unless something comes out. That's the more damaging than what we know already. It's just really hard to see twenty. Republicans voting against a sitting Republican president that we were just talking working two days ago about the the likelihood that this would go to impeachment as you know this question has arisen several times over the course of the administration and your view then was it it wouldn't essentially because of political calculus and no other reason that it simply wouldn't come up. Why do you think what's happened. Here has has changed that Calculus. Yes you'll write. Thanks shifted almost overnight and I'm afraid I didn't spot it coming in advance apologized to listeners for that but essentially for the past year or more the left flank of the the Democratic Caucus in the House has been saying Nancy Pelosi. We must impeach him impeach the majority of the Caucasus particularly those Democrats in more marginal districts have said absolutely not it's killers when we come up re-election. You know the folk wisdom in. DC is a failed impeachment which I mean impeachment in the House and not removing the president in the Senate you know helps the president and damages the impeaches dot was the settled view of Nancy Pelosi House leadership what happened that seems to have changed inch that. Is that some of those Democrats in close constituencies came to close. Actually we've changed online on this. We think what happened. Here has crossed the line. We've got a constitutional duty to uphold and asking as ever that you get your crystal ball out that kind of realization that notion of a constitutional duty that the notion of a threshold beyond which things become much more moral question than a political one. You don't think that might happen in the Senate well American Politics Success being so unpredictable releasing twenty fifteen the beginning of the Republican primary the I've got out of the habit of saying it'll never happen. I think it's unlikely but but say there's a small possibility that you might get a decent number of Republicans changing their mind because Republicans senators on large character deal about national security. They understand Dan what's at stake in Ukraine understand that America has a national interest and when the AIDS was frozen by the White House in the first place. I'm told the the White House got a lot of calls from angry. Republicans saying one earth is happening here. You know what he doing so it's possible. I think it's unlikely John. Thank you very much a few time. Thanks Jason.

"He plotted his revenge and has revenge part of his revenge was to put a Jewish comedian on his television station with a show about being being the president and four years later that paid dividends with that comedian becoming president and bringing Mr. Cullimore ski and his people. People along for the ride, so many people around Mr. Zilenski are Cullimore ski friends lawyers, fixers professionals, the main opera the internal opera of the presidential freshman was run by Mr. Columbus guys simply because Zilenski didn't have enough people. So Mr. komo's guys one based on my conversations with people in Ukraine, who Novus things is one of the five guys that decides things within the inner ring round, Mr. linski. Now if mister Leninsky who's now in power will be able to say, I'm my own man. Now, often happened before when the oligarchy has brought a politician to power sending happened with Mr. kovic mister met and the done bus clans picked mystery and the kovic to be there man. They never fought that he would be quite as corrupt or quite as willful as he was. So that certain oligarchy brings you to power doesn't mean he control you after you're in power. That is the interesting question. How much power, Mr. Cullimore ski and his friends and other shareholders? And I do think of it as a shareholder agreement will have over, Mr. Zielinski. The guy's really blinks late it he's still staffing up right now. And there's going to be the usual power struggles going on with everybody trying to get a job in his government. What is your prediction on how that process is going to go? I've been kiva laud trying to keep track of it. I have a good relationship with Mr. Luke, the former finance minister, who is hoping to be next foreign minister of Ukraine, if Mr. Donald Luke does become foreign minister, and western educated, reformers, do get big jobs in this administration. We will know what this ministers administrations going to be like, since he's extremely untested and inexperienced the presidential chief of staff will be defacto prime minister in this government. So if Mr. Khola mosque gets his own guy. Pointed as the chief of staff that shows what is governments about if it's someone else it's not call mosque's appointee is the chief of staff. We know that this is a more independent government. So there's three or four groups of people fighting for power around, Mr. Ellen ski now and he's listening to different people all the time in trying to figure out what kind of guy he wants to be is it is childhood friends is business partners. Is it reformers is Putin did childhood friends? That's, that's typically what you do when you come to our you put your childhood friends into positions of power, and make them rich. That's how you build a kleptocracy. So I hope that does not happen Ukraine with high expectations of his gentleman. He has a huge mandate. It's going to be very difficult for him because he's a very difficult situation in front of him. He has a very tough opponent. He has a divided parliament, he has shark like opponents. He has allies, who. Literally owned shark tanks. He has. He has a very difficult situation. Head of him. I wish him the best of luck we can only hope for the best. I was very clear in my comments to Newsweek, where I said, there's no pro-kremlin candidate in this race, which is absolutely true, but there have been accusations, which I've seen with some Ukraine, watchers, pointing to all sorts of reasons that they argued that Zilenski just was the pro-kremlin candidate. And there was an interesting thread produced by one security expert on Twitter, saying that there are some hacky, males that revealed that Russia had a strategy in place to try to get a comic elected president of Ukraine, and to discredit Ukraine, and is rumors or so forth of money going from Kremlin sources to ski. What is your comment on any sort of vulnerability? He might have for the Kremlin are the directly indirectly. Do you see anything there, do I think he's a Manchurian candidate of Russians? No do I think he. Was put in place by master plan from two thousand fourteen by the Russians a masterful, masterful plan. No, I do not do. I think he is going to try to reframe negotiations in a way that is less and Tig mystic. In the way, Porsche, Anka, was probably yes, we'll he capitulates Russians. Probably not or not immediately. The by the mayor put it in his sofa. Not formally congratulated the president on his win. Yes. So this is one of the questions, you know, people are bringing up before the election is Mr. linski someone that you want negotiating with Putin. Someone who's been around forever. Someone who's known for manipulating, and that's not what Ukrainians made their decision on. They didn't choose the president who they thought would be best in foreign policy. They chose someone who they thought would be better at improving the economic situation of crazy government that was more open and just having something really different. We don't know what his policies are. He hasn't given specific. So he's introduced some people from his team last week. But he hasn't said who is necessarily going to be what position and the point. I always trying to make to people is to a large extent linski sold a feeling he sold the feeling of the kind of country you live in where the president would speak to you directly on Instagram or Facebook, you know, friendly smiling open. And so that is what brought a lot of. People in you know, other people just wanted to head what they call an anti boat here. They're against PETA shaneco. But now we're going to be looking at the actual details in part of that will also be who he appoints to keep his issues, but we're going to start to see what the actual picture looks like in the coming days and for all that Mr. Leninsky has presented himself to voters successfully as an antidote to traditional politicians. All that baggage. I mean, this is someone who does have links to a very wealthy very powerful person. Yes. So you crane has a few very powerful. They're cold oligarchs here businessman, and as linski is connected to voice key who's been known for taking advantage of government connections to milk institutions that are partially owned by the state and using his connections, really not for personal benefit not for the benefit of the country. And so the question is how closely they will be linked. Now, Columbus skis television channels in media have supported as Alinsky and they've had a long relationship because those are the channels that show his TV programs. He made his money from his kind of entertainment empire producing things. So they clearly have some sort of alliance, but remains to be seen is health. Are that will go the accusation during the came Dolinsky was just a puppet of Cullum, OI sqi and people are waiting to see how that actually works out. Now, Mr. mois had stayed out. What kind of president would Ukraine's comedian candidate make?
"Floods. Alinsky a TV comedy actor pays to be on coast. Unseat president petro Porsche Schenker in the second round of Ukraine's presidential elections this weekend Casey Martin discusses how he got there. And what kind of president he would make Roman audio audiology. Glue. We've just had a clip from a campaign video of Mr. landscape taking selfish with his team what kind of character does he play on TV, and how did he go from acting into politics? Let me start off by saying that Mr. Zielinski is a very funny and talented comedian who strikes the basic emotional courts with average Ukrainians, and I think it's very important to put this into context the country is into a six year of war in far eastern regions where Russian backed separatists, and it's gone through a lot of economic pain during these past years and his performances, including his comedy performances where he mocks politicians is sort of escape a release for the population. That has a lot of anger on various issues from lingering corruption to the economic pain. They're feeling in his popular TV series called servants of the people where he plays a honest schoolteacher who becomes president unexpectedly. He plays a. Character who combat's the oligarchy, it's a very popular widely watched TV show in the country, and it presents sort of the ideal president that the people would like to see in contrast. The current president who has a patchy reform record is an oligarchy himself and in the TV series of until the people. There are episodes, for example, where Mr. Dolinsky playing the role of this on a schoolteacher walks into parliament and imagine himself with automatic guns shooting in killing all the politicians in such scenes are scenes that many Ukrainians who are fed up with corruption. I'm sure would like to see perhaps maybe not in real life. But they would like to see someone who comes into power that really changes the way the system here works. I mean, he's clearly struck a code. But how did he make that transition into real politics in real life? He hasn't made a transition to a sort of a conventional Ukrainian politician Ukrainian still to this day. See him as the character in the TV show. They haven't really seen the real Mr. Lansky in neither have Ukraine's western backers nor even journalists because he hasn't really given a lot of face to face interviews. In depth interviews. He hasn't appeared on the streets doing traditional campaign rallies. And so you cranium seeing him often what they want to see is sort of character, who is honest who is just an average person who is fed up with the system in wants to change it, and that's really the unorthodox campaign that he's run his campaign is focused largely on two fronts mobilizing the youth. Electorate the young generation who see him as one of their own and he targeted them specifically through social media. Meanwhile, we have the television series, which a lot of elderly Ukrainians watch. Is he young and south Hello to say he's forty one years of age. So he basically grew up in independent Ukraine and is not Butte as the same as the current political stablishment. Who are all Soviet born and developed this people partially in the Soviet Union. And during the crony nineteen ninety s where a handful of individuals, amass massive amounts of wealth. So he's viewed as this anti-establishment figure by population which desperately wants big changes and a change from the current establishment with fresh faces. Recent polls have shown that sixty or perhaps more percentage of the population. Want a new face as president and new faces in parliaments a complete overhaul politically service really isn't extraordinary situation, a new sort of campaign, but what his policies how do they differ from his opponent? Petra parish Anka, you're right. It's a very surreal situation in many respects, and it's just astonishing. How popular he's become in a very short period of time since declaring his bid for the presidency on New Year's Eve, which was just several months ago. But in reality, we don't really. We know who he really is in what kind of policies he would bring in how different they would be from portion goes because he has been very short on detail. He is avoided as I've said in depth interviews on foreign policy domestic policy giving very general statements in many ways, the general statements that he's given since a group of several former fficials had joined him as advisors have been along the lines of the current objectively that Ukraine is going on in terms of foreign and domestic policy, which means sticking with the IMF program and with the western-backed support, countering Russian its aggression. So what are the achievements and shortcomings of Mr. putter Shankar as president has he done thing to tackle the corruption that seems to be the biggest concern in seems to be fueling so much enthusiasm for Mr. landscape. Let's remember that Mr. Persian go took power when he was elected with fifty four percent mandate. Just a couple of months after the my Don revolution sent a pro Russian president. Fleeing to Russia and Russia at that time after the revolution. Swiftly annexed Crimea and fomented a war in the far eastern regions of the country since taking over Persian go has rebuilt the army, which was caught flat-footed in the early days of the war under his leadership. That government has achieved. A macro economic stability creating the foundations for a healthier economy across the board. There have been significant reforms in removing the room for corruption in rent-seeking in various sectors of economy, including bringing market level prices to utilities and independence to the central Bank. However, the major shortcoming of Mr. partial go, his political achilles heel has been his foot-dragging on reforms that are needed to punish corruption in forming. A functioning court system to give a little bit of context the court systems in this country. Have traditionally been used by presidents and other top officials as a form of leverage over other politicians. They have not been independent. So it sounds like fuse. Yeltsin for his campaign is rather low for Mr. portion goes, yes, it's been rather low. However, he has made a remarkable comeback though. His chances of reelection seem distant his poll numbers about a year ago were in single digits in the first round of elections on March thirty first he came in second behind Mr. Zilenski, he mustered about thirteen percent support that is a significant increase from the single digit numbers that he had prior to that said gang back to MRs van ski his career has been backed by another oligarchy lives in exile. But owns the TV channel that screens his shows. Tell us about eager Cowboys we ski and why he had to leave Ukraine. Yes eager. Komo's ski is. A very interesting character we had to find out your times interviewed him a couple years back. He was camera shy for many decades, but came out into the open of Ukrainian politics after Russia annexed Crimea. He accepted the job as governor of a region that borders the Br. Takeaway regions in eastern Ukraine that Russian-backed forces in separatists took control over he played a big role in repelling further incursions into the country, and we interviewed him shortly after that and found him to be in some ways of very candid figure, but impulsive and obsessive in clearly one who seeks influence, and he had a big grudge against portion cone, those days what we've seen is that Mr Hallam Whiskas channels have been giving a great amount of airtime to misters Alinsky and his TV series in particular, and this has increased support for misters Alinsky. We also see. There are reports that lawyers that we met in the presence of Mr. Colin Moise are playing a sort of backroom role in advising, Mr. linski. There are reports that bodyguards of Mr. cola Moise have been hired by mister is Alinsky to protect him and other evidence of links. So there is a lot of concern that Mr. linski could be a puppet of Mr. cola Moise as Mr Puerta shaneco claim. Tmz Mr. Zielinski, however has denied this and promises that don't be no special treatment for Mr. cola Moise, who by the way promises to return to Ukraine from Israel where he's in exile, currently after the elections. So he may have some practical backing from Khulumani scape. But if we'd have situation where for example, he wins what sort of policy input. Does he have what kind of backing does he have in that sense much of what we know about Mr. Alinsky is potential policies going forward? Come from a group of former government ministers in officials that have become his advisors. They include the respected former foreign minister of Ukraine Oleksandr done. Luke who was a key official in relations with the IMF. And a former economy minister deliver wanian born Ibarra Abramova choose those two along with another individual who's advising him are saying that the policies will be consistent with the IMF program. And that Ukraine will remain on a pro. Western course, however. What really will happen under his presidency remains a bit of a question because he has not formally announced who will be members of his team who will hold what positions in the government and doubts are big. Because in some of the first comments that misters Alinsky gave to the media after announcing his campaign. He said a lot of things that raised eyebrows. For example, he described IMF loans as to expensive when they are actually some of the cheapest sources of financing that Ukraine can get nowadays. So what's at stake here for Ukraine? Why did he's elections matter? There's an awful lot at stake here for Ukraine Ukraine is on the front lines of Russia's broader war with the west which started in two thousand fourteen with the annexation of Crimea. There's also an awful lot of steak for the west here unpredictable leadership in Ukraine unclear governing could complicate Ukraine's relations with western backers including the multibillion dollar loans that are needed from the IMF their key to propping up this country as it faces. P conformed debt payments this next year. So there's a lot at stake for bondholders in Ukrainian debt, for example, questions about Ukraine's leadership under misters Alinsky. And no one knows very much what to expect for him could also test the transatlantic unity behind Ukraine and Russia sanctions over Moscow's, continued aggression in Ukraine, a vacuum of power in Ukraine, should it occur under his Alinsky leadership or more infighting could also lead to instability that could make the country more vulnerable to further Russian aggression. And let's remember that Russia really seize the moment, tactically annexing, Crimea and formenting a war in eastern regions in the post revolution period of Ukraine in two thousand fourteen when there was no strong vertical of power. So high stakes in a very unpredictable situation. Remers thanks very much. Thank you.
Comics relief? Ukraines presidential race
"In the hit Ukrainian comedy show. Servant of the people. I history teachers, expletive strewn anti corruption rant goes viral. And this man of the people winds up being elected president. But throw which but there's some fifteen. The comedian who plays him load. Amir's Alinsky is trying to turn fiction into reality voters head to the polls on Sunday for the first round of Ukraine's presidential elections and not only Mr. linski in the race. He's the front runner. Five years ago. Ukrainians took to the streets that overthrew their former president Viktor Yanukovych since then they faced a simmering war in the east of their country with Russia, which also annexed the Crimean peninsula. Noah Sneider is our Moscow correspondent, he recently visited Mr. Lansky onset in Kiev. They've seen their economy crash and come back from the brink. And they've seen many of the promises of the revolution unfulfilled, especially when it comes to fighting corruption that's opened a huge Gulf of distrust with the authorities and that has led to a strange situation where the front runner in. These elections is a comedian an actor with no political experience whatsoever riding this wave of anti-establishment sentiment and frustration towards a likely victory. And I understand that you you met Mr. linski recently. I did. So I went and saw him onset where he was filming latest season of his TV show serving the people. And the scene that was playing out was telling it showed the Lansky character taking the oath of office. He enters a sort of historical flashback a dialogue with a trio of important figures. Plato prince flood of Kiev, and the Slavic philosopher Grigory Scotto, the, and what ensues is sort of philosophical dialogue on the nature of power. And this, of course, has a double meaning since he may be taking that oath right soon. And so when you met him after he was filming how did he come across? Mr. charming mound. And actor who knows how to hold the room. But at the same time, he's had a hard time being very specific. At all about what he plans to do. Once he becomes president in part. It's a need campaign strategy it allows voters to see him as an empty vessel that they can fill with their hopes will what about his own hopes. Did he speak to you about why he wants to run for office? He talked about wanting to change things about wanting to make the country better. He came around eventually to answer that he summed up as I want my kids to be able to say that my dad was a normal guy. Great guy and these motivations for many voters raise questions because of his somewhat. Murky ties with color mois key, the guard who owns the TV channel on which Mr. Lansky show has aired the to maintain that they're not in cahoots and that there's nothing to their relationship beyond the business one. But missed his Lansky vague answers have fueled the suspicions about why he actually has decided to run then without prejudice to wear his platform might be coming from. What is he actually said he'll do first and foremost, he's promised to maintain Ukraine's course, towards western integration integration with the European Union. He's talked about fighting corruption and somewhat vaguely about ending the war about finding away to negotiate with mister Putin at the same time. His ideological stance is. Quite over the map, we talked to him about which world leaders, he admired which figures he associated himself with global politics, and he invoked to names in particular day able scenario the right wing populace, president of Brazil. And France's among well Macron. Mccall who's liberal technocrat the Gulf between their policies and their positions is enormous. And again, perhaps suggests that Mr. Lonski is is a bit unfamiliar with the territory he's wandering onto. And I guess that's particularly worrisome in the sense that he's up against a ladder Putin for a chunk of his country. Absolutely. Mr Putin has nineteen years of executive experience under his belt. He's a wily operator and will not miss the opportunity to use his opponent's inexperience to his advantage, and how did Mr. linski and up here. How comedian with no political experience leading the polls. I think the main reason is frustration frustration amongst ordinary Ukrainians with their post revolutionary leadership when they overthrew the previous president victory on the kovic in two thousand fourteen. There was a great deal of hope that the deeply corrupt. Oligarchy political system that has gripped Ukraine since the fall of the Soviet Union would finally change and that fundamental promise has been left unfulfilled. So although Ukraine has made some important reforms, although the country is moving closer to Europe citizens now enjoy visa-free travel to the U, for example. They don't feel like the system has fundamentally changed three quarters of Ukrainian say the country is headed in the wrong direction. Just nine percent have faith in their national government. That's the lowest figure of any country survey by Gallup polling agency. And you see that frustration spill out onto the streets quite regularly. They're anti corruption protests in Kiev in the same place often has where the revolution in two thousand fourteen began. And so who is Mr. linski running against are there more. Let's call them standard candidates. There's nearly forty candidates running for president. But the front runners are a pair of old faces from the old guard. There's the incumbent president petro parsh- Anco who came to office in two thousand fourteen in the wake the revolution promising to root out corruption and change this old system people largely feel that he's failed to do. So the second major challenger to mister Lonski is Hewlett Michenko. She's a former prime minister came to prominence after the orange revolution two thousand four and she's reinvented herself this time around as populous. Okay. So you've got two establishment candidates and one wildcard does that look like it's going to be a fair fight at least at the polls. That's big question. And it's the thing that people are most worried about in key, if these days, there are not only fears about the influence of oligarchy television. But also. Hello fears about straight up vote, rigging and vote-buying and vast majority of Ukrainians, in fact, don't believe that these will be free and fair elections, and that could be the most dangerous outcome of all. But let's suppose things are relatively clear cut and Mr. Dolinsky gets through the first round as expected. What do you reckon happens? Then the polling shows the in most cases, he would win head to head matchup with Mr. partial go and with Mr. machine go, but a lot of it depends on things like voter turnout misters Lonski basis, younger less reliable. So it's really hard to say. And if he were to win in the second round and become president he'd inherit the simmering war with Russia, which has massive implications for relations between Russia and the west he would inherit an economy that still struggling could benefit from further reform, and he would face a brutal fight over parliamentary elections in the fall.

The man who's held a job for the last five years patrol Persian is in big trouble on according to the latest polls. "I get that second step. And now the most important step really is made more difficult if you didn't do well in level one little to. No, that's right. Yeah. As a layman setting aside. Not knowing all of this. You're explaining it to me. I'm able to listen. You still see what they recommend? Yeah. And in my mind, why wouldn't the judge follow the? Yeah, she's done an investigation. She has looked into it. Things have been checked and gone over her office is in the court house. It's right there. They they work together, they know each other. So in my world accept the recommendation. Yeah, you're screwed. You're thinking you can already hear the language and I've reviewed all this stuff and there's a recommendation made. In this case, I'm gonna fall court. They follow the recommendation of the probation department in the pre sentence report? Yeah, MS inelegant Mr. linski you have any objection, you know, it's like they make it very form. You can see it all happening, but and this is where this is the difference between dying young and living a long prosperous life as attorney wearing the diet young category because this stuff eats me up. I hate it. I, I hate the. Thought that I'm going to hear those words follow the recommendation. I mean, it really, really pains me to to think that I know this individual, whether it's Jared or somebody else I and hopefully by now I've got an understanding of what brought this person to the courtroom in my job. Then I take on this ridiculous burden of using that and coming up with some way to tell that to the judge and I'm a firm believer that we can change judge not all the time, but we can change judges minds on the fly. We can do it. So if a judge walks into Corum thinking, I'm giving us no good SUB ten years, I think we can change judges mind and we might hear a now. Here's the problem with that. Joe from, here's, here's a, here's a business model. Imagine you're in your business. If you add, if you use, somebody says, look, look at somebody say, you know, you're a great customer. I'm gonna give you a discount this time. You know, you pay five dollars for this product. Last time I'm going to give you a dollar discount because you're bought this many of them. You've paid your dues, you paid your dues. Well, what if you had to do that? And they didn't know. So it's like it's always four dollars, but you in your head, you know you've you've, you've given that discount, but they don't. They don't know it. That's like our business, right? So somebody pleading guilty to something. They go into a courtroom where judge was going to give him ten years and the only get five or eight. There's no way to ever know. Right. We never know all we can do as lawyers, sort of listen to other. They made a great job at that sentencing hearing or eight or really good job or or sometimes judges spell it out, or they say, to know when you came in this courtroom, I had in my head, I'm giving you ten years, but you're, yeah, sometimes they really shout out. Sometimes they do and here's a tourist even in times like that. People look at us and say, well, you're just telling me who I was. So all you did was just explain what I, you know, it's like, yeah, and if you don't sit through those and see the normal, if you don't see the difference between, I guess. Acceptable and maybe even good versus like. I don't even know what the right word is like, like art, right? There's there's an arm.
