"History, politics, religion and more. Here's Mike. Welcome to the contest corner segment of S a lawyer. We're very pleased to have on an old friend of the show Father, Paul, and he's back from Middle East. Welcome back to the United States Father Thank you so much. Mr Khanna's Thank you and Michael and control our listeners. It's good to be back at least one moment and, yes, Happy New year to everyone who's listening to us. Okay, now, you know, listens. People ask me all the time. How are you doing? What's going on? I know things are not the best. Which can you just tell the folks out there? What's happened over there? And how are you doing right now? Uh, absolutely. And so? So I should know my friends. Who? What happened? Um, in all those was kind of something that we would never even you know, Uh, think about the explosion. The Situation after and what we have to deal with now, So in my mind, said enough's enough accomplishing fire and within the Franciscan movement. I decided to go day by day with the whole situation in Lebanon that we have on golf course covered, which is everywhere. But they think the bomb, the explosion and the whole situation with the government resigning and everything. So we can just imagine that I was like all over the place. We were trying to collect certain things and connect dots, so I think Let's see how it goes. It doesn't look well, But as I mentioned before I go day by day, and I and I still came out alive, and I'm sure that we will. We will be okay. One day. It's just gonna take maybe more time. But I think the delighted still there. It's just we have to keep it. Keep it on for our listeners benefit. You know when the explosion happened, and you can you describe it briefly. So it happened you in today, actually, And the thing is that it was a first minute. I thought, like first few seconds I felt it. It's another car bomb. You know, Sometimes we have those car bombs just to make people uh, stress and fear oriented. So And you know, the first sounds was okay about what happened Just after when, actually all our windows and those went, went out and then suddenly I was for some time owes have death because I couldn't. I wasn't sure what just happened. And and I would walk up on me. Someone just help me to to collect myself. And I was like, Whoa, what just happened? And and I could be here Anyone because I couldn't just hear it. My my ears were would just damage for one moment, so, but I would have looked around and I understood. It's something bigger than just a car bomb. And it was in nothing was predicted. Nothing was there were no political tension because regular stuff so I was like what just happened so When what I kind of realized what's going on. I just saw the entire neighborhood and on day after half of the city completely wiped out, especially the Christian area because it happened on the Christians on so That's how I realized that 20 years of my world just Just when I'd done on day. That was my My second salt, and we've lost a lot of people. Medical personal as well, people that I knew for years that they trained So many years on. So that was that was that was a very personal hit. That I got a swell s o. To be honest with you. I'm kind of trying to I don't know. Understand it at some point, because, um, because nothing was expected nothing at all. And we just now and after everyone was like saying, Oh, it's It's Z. It's not. We don't even know who did it. After we we knew who did it. What happened So always the forward will be today off. We've lost. We've lost a lot of people. But also 20 years off of the clinic of the medical center off of everything we've been doing for 20 years was gone. So that's basically what I can say about the August for now memorized in my mind if you could help our listeners because, you know, obviously some of them know exactly who you are. But some of them may have been may be hearing your voice for the first time. So one you're Catholic. Priest in the in the capital in order and your medical doctor and Well, what was your mission? So So my mission from the very first day was actually to help Cristian community because we realized in 2000 and one Onboard 1,002,000 and one spring on summertime. We just realized that the Christian community has no medical support the way they should have that they shouldn't even be paying for. So so I just said that we need a clinic when you the hospital when you the medical center, so I can even go and grow up. Old months of medications are we need are looking for and go to put those villages after the nose or closer, the Syrian border and that this way before war in Syria, so so imagine what has happened after So we just realized we need through magically from the human scientist back to we need to help the Christian communities. It doesn't matter. The Maronites are there. Also dogs On and cosmic Orthodox. They're all Christians were all questions. So that was the main purpose magically to help people because for spiritually reason it Z always possible to do this day by day, But there is a moment Christians were absolutely abandoned with the medical and health. Support from their own government in Lebanon. So that's where we stepped in 20 years ago, and we decided Let's go for it. Let's do and the medical center and then the medical equipment. Let's go for medications as you can look for in Europe or in the United States, and the main reason was Christians would never pay for that service that we provide in Beirut or in general in Lebanon. So that was idea. Hmm. Now, let's let's just talk a little about history and politics. You know, we have a new president right now. Just inaugurated going go back to the Obama administration now that when the Obama administration there was an Arab spring And can you tell us how the Arab spring affected People, you know, in the Middle East. Oh, it's It's very yes, that's that's a very good question and So the answer is that I'm here. I'm gonna I'm gonna use uh I'm going to use that expression of actually, the Arab spring brought, uh, winter to Christians that the way they they starts to be persecuted and the ignorance off many people from the West was that in the Middle East, you only have Moslems and people completely forgot that we have the Christianity from 2000 years because just Christ created the whole sense of humanity 2000 years ago, so Christians were were there. So dominant presence of the Muslim communities after our spring actually opened the door to persecute a Christian minorities for those simple reason, letting them know that they're not welcomed. So when I say that the Arab spring gosh, she created a winter time for questions because there were more prosecutions. If you look at in Egypt, for example, the large numbers of Coptic Christians have moved abroad. In response to such a tight off of discrimination announced right of pressure. How it's possible that after Arab spring.

"All CBS All right, Connor Green Great stuff with Scott Hanson. Why we went a little bit long with him because his excitement just gets you all pumped up for the football season is positivity is well. I got to get your thoughts here because I think you're very good on the B s meter in detecting B. S When DeAndre Hopkins last night tweets out grateful. I thought it was a clear shot that I'm grateful. I'm no longer on the Houston tax ins. And usually you don't hear anything negative about DeAndre Hopkins. Heck of a story heck of a football player. And he doesn't use to get caught up in all this stuff. But he was put in a bad situation this year where he got traded, where he shouldn't have been training. If you are going to trade him, they should have got more back for him with the tax. And so he's in the drama situation. The only time I really had some blowback on something that he said was when he took some sort of shot about the 20 for nothing lead that they did blow last year. Like, Dude, you are a part of that You shouldn't be mocking it and making fun out of it. That was during the pandemic at some point. So I was actually watching Jimmy Fallon after the game last night, and I was on my couch all jacked up after the football game, And then eventually Jimmy Fallon comes on. So I watch that in the background before I actually passed out on my couch. I wake up at 3:30 A.m. Eastern, I go Where the heck am I a little bit of a football hangover? Even though I didn't even have a single alcoholic beverage last night and then eventually take the 56 steps from my couch to the bed, fall asleep and then woke up. I don't know. I think I woke up this morning like 88 30 something along those lines so I did see, though, on Jimmy Fallon DeAndre Hopkins was on now. Nothing was crazy with DeAndre Hopkins on Fallon. It was a classic like fluff interview. Nothing else that you could really expect. I think the roots were actually making songs about the football players that were on. I saw in the hazy memory that I have from basically falling asleep on the couch and kind of watching with just putting something on in the background and I want to go to bed yet. I remember seeing McCaffrey on there, and Hopkins. I don't know if anybody else so I did see that Dove Kleiman, who covers the NFL, he tweeted out after the Hopkins tweet of Grateful Major League Shade from DeAndre Hopkins. Well done So, Hopkins, he fires back saying No, You are all reaching. I was on Fallon tonight. Dream come true. I'm from more blessings. He s meter? Yes or no. DeAndre. Hopkins was throwing shade at the Texans last night. Or this was I was just grateful to be on Jimmy Fallon. That is Total B s. Okay. Total B s. First of all No one likes. Jimmy found that much to be tweeting grateful afterwards and second of all. There's no way that was not a hidden little veiled shot at his former team that's traded him away. There's no way he was just happy to be on Jimmy Fallon show, and that's why it tweeted that like I'm not saying he isn't happy to be on Jimmy Fallon. However, if I'm in that position where I could just I'm not DeAndre Hopkins. Obviously I'm not doing one of those crazy talk show host comparisons where I think I'm a much bigger deal than what I actually am. Fight, for example, I've been on some shows or I've had content picked up by let's say SportsCenter or NFL network and I go man That's really cool, like so grateful for that to happen. If I'm just trying to go on that think you're I've been a guest on on a talk show that I grew up listening to something along those lines. You would tweet out like really grateful. Let's say throne put beyond Really grateful to be on Jim Rome show and tagged Jim Rome. You wouldn't just tweet out grateful. And if you're DeAndre Hopkins when you tweet out, just grateful in your old team just got smacked on the opening night of the season on Thursday night Football on NBC game. If that's was your intentions, grateful to be on Jimmy Fallon, you should have said that because it's very ambiguous. And I tend to agree with you, Mr Khanna Green, and I think that was an astute observation an obvious observation. That DeAndre Hopkins who play the Nice Guy Act here, he was basically said, Hey, Bill O'Brien. You want some come gets on, and that's what he basically, I think afterwards to somebody said Hey, you know, DeAndre, this tweet really doesn't look so good. And he had to, like, Pull a hammy trying to come up with some excuse, and he was like Jimmy Fallon. I just love Jimmy film. That's what it is O R. Or or or or he just goes, you know, let me play into the game here. Let me just say now it was Fallon. I'll use that as the excuse. When in reality you were saying, Hey, Texans, not it out on you guys lost. I'd even play yet, but I'm going to throw some shade your way. Now the Cardinals have the 40. Niners Week one. You better play well. And then if I'm a Texans player, maybe not too, Sean. But, you know, maybe if on Jacob Martin, I don't know some of scared Texans player. Even though you shouldn't be doing much talking after the performance that happened on Thursday, however, people have short term memory. If Hopkins jobs a big football late, and the Cardinals don't get a victory on Sunday, will any Texans players three back out grateful? Probably not coming off a loss. If I was the Texans player, even though I like DeAndre Hopkins and think he should be on the football team, this could be worn out. Maybe out in petty social media fights. Maybe Bill O'Brien tweet grateful at this point has so much power there. No one could do anything anyway. Yeah, I would not be grateful to have Bill O'Brien running my football team. Okay, if he's coaching it, you know, he's not the worst coach in league is not the best coach in the league. I goes to the playoffs. Oh, I think that's a Super Bowl winning coach. No, I don't know. I think he's a Super Bowl general manager. I can't even say it without chuckling. That would be fun if I don't even think O'Brien has a Twitter I don't even know if he does. You know, I would be surprised if a Brian has a Twitter. Mummy serial quickly Let me search Bill O'Brien. Robbie like if he had, Ah, ah burner. It would be like dimple Chin 46789. I searched Bill O'Brien. I would think he does not have a Twitter. And I don't see one. There's a few para this more than a few parody accounts, which I would even go down that rabbit hole. So maybe O'Brien gets on a burner account and tweets are grateful of Hopkins loses this weekend. Yeah, if you see Texans fan once you 853 say, grateful that's probably Bill O'Brien Tonight. Probably Sunday. Probably is, you're probably right on that. So DeAndre Hopkins makes his debut on Sunday in Arizona. We are a lot of players making their debut this weekend. Who were the ones that you most excited to see 855.

If you own a coffee shop, you got all your money and time tied up in that you're looking out the window and seen windows get smashing all that and you're watching freaking MSNBC or CNN, and they're telling you it's a block party atmosphere. I don't know what President Trump's talking about, or listen to NPR in your very town. Telling you that is mostly peaceful. Young white men again. I'm reading from The New York Times. All right, Wow. Young white men wielding guns would Harang customers as well as Mr Khanna, Gay man of Middle Eastern descent. She's gay and immigrant. And a brown person that white people were Harang ing, but in the name of anti racism, but we'll call the block party. Course busy. While they barricaded us all in here, Mr Khan said, And they're sitting in lawn chairs with guns. He had asked for permission to walk down the street to get to his own coffee shop at this block party, according to MSNBC. For 23 days. In June, about six blocks in the city's Capitol Hill neighborhood were claimed by left wing demonstrators and declared police free protesters hailed it as a liberation from police oppression from white supremacy and a catalyst for a national movement. In the wake of the killing of George Flowed, bla bla bla. We know all that paragraph that sets all all these stories. Minneapolis City Council is pitching up major reduction and the CIA. Seattle City Council is pushing for a 50% cut to the police Department funding. Wow. Incredible. Yeah, This may surprise you. I'm a very polite person in real life. I was raised that way. And I tend not to want to have uncomfortable conversations with people. They're going about their lives. I'm going about my I think we're about at the point. Where were you your overeducated? Suburban white friends start spouting this crap this nonsense. You have to confront him on it. You have to tell him you're delusional. Your fantasy view of the world and how it works is dangerous and you need to be quiet. You should have taken some real classes in college and not all that sociology. Wasting your time. Many of these liberals in these liberal cities are nervous about speaking out, says this article in The New York Times less they lend ammunition to a conservative critique of the Black Lives matter movement. In Portland, Elizabeth Snow McDougall, the owner of the Stephen Ness legal Printers, emphasized her support for the cause before describing the damage done door business during me. What is it now? 70 some straight days of riding in Portland, right, But even that sentence is full of problems. The Black lives matter Movement. Do you mean the organization? Jimmy, just people who in general, think black people ought to have the same rights as white people. Do you mean the protester? Do you mean the rioters? What does that even mean? She described what she was seeing around her business in Portland. One window broken, then another, then another then another garbage to clean up the sidewalk in front of the store every morning urine to wash out of our doorway alcove graffiti to remove Cost to board up and later will have cost to repair. Well, that's your utopia. Back in Seattle. The impact of the occupation on his coffee shop has been devastating. Very few people braved the barricade set up by the armed occupiers to come in for his coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Car's coming to pick up food orders would turn around at two points. He and his workers felt scared and called 911. They said they would not come into chop or jazz jazz, said Mr Khan, referring It was two lawless. Had to start chipping in for private security. Hard thing to do in his business had already been hurt by the Corona virus. But he considers himself lucky. Even weeks after the protest blocks of his previously bustling neighborhood remain boarded up and covered in shattered glass. Many business owners are scared to speak out Mr concept because of worries that they would be targeted further. A mainstream media. Nice job on following up on chairs boarded up windows, broken glass still everywhere. Businesses closed down nothing about that in the news. Just just nothing good job reporting on it while that was going on. It's unbelievable. It really is. It's sickening and, you know, maybe the on ly thing you need to know about the militants. To the violent Marxists and all who were in Seattle are in Seattle and Portland and everywhere else the difference between them and every other cause you've seen in your life. Can anybody tell me what it is Every demonstration you've ever seen in your life? From Pro abortion, anti abortion Supreme Court to voting rights now to any demonstration ever. The rest of them. Want cameras. They want coverage. They want you to see them on the news. Their man. If the press doesn't show right, and then the press shows up, and they pressed the camera couldn't close, so the demonstration looks much bigger than it is the ant. If antifa types, the Marxist types they'll smash up the cameras, they beat journalists down. Cause they don't want people to see what they're doing. Because what they're doing is horrific and indefensible. They want to start a war. Well, it's working pretty well. From their standpoint, journalists are afraid to cover it. Business owners are afraid to talk to journalists about it unless they be attacked. They're physically afraid. It's actually working. It's it's It's It's brown shirt Nazi stuff, right? You don't chair speak out against you actually scared off the press and any opposition from saying anything because they're physically afraid further. Their safety? Yeah, in the great irony that they call themselves anti fascists when that's straight out of the fascist play, But I would have never believed that it would work. I can understand how it works on the local level, but the on the national level the fact that the you know the people the national level aren't willing to speak out. About. Part of it is that everything is through the lens of does this help Trump or hurt Trump? Yeah, that is a lot of it, And actually, I don't know what they would bring this up because it's complicated. I'll just touch on it. Tom Friedman in The New York Times today has a really interesting piece on Beirut. His his specialty is the Middle East and has been forever so great on the metal Middle East. Whatever reached the rates about America..

"Get a two hundred percent free play bonus when you deposit two hundred dollars or mention hearing us on the underdog. All right, Mr. Khanna, we return, and let's let's make people millionaires. Let's do it. Oh boy. Feeling confident. A little shook after all these totals that had been blowing. So I'm going to be better this week as I would almost promise. But not quite oh, I don't have this is actually a little bit disappointing. I'm obviously these these lines brought to you by Skype sportsbook. But I do not have a line for an align on the Monday night game. And I guess that's because of all the uncertainty about the Monday night game right now. But I would've loved to see what the over under. There was a ho-. Yeah. I think we did it a few weeks ago. I think it was fifty eight and a half or something. Yeah. I know. But that was also two weeks before the game was played. Let's so who knows what it actually would have been this year. Okay. I have it on another site. We will not mention the site. But I will ask you that question when it comes up. Let's let's look at these. Let's look at these lines. We'll start again, all these lines. Brought to you by sportsbook. The first game the Thursday night game. I think you may be a little interested in this. The Green Bay. Packers traveled to Seattle to take on the Seattle Seahawks and sky book has the Seahawks minus two and a half of man, what a tough tote around for both these teams they played three thirty games central. I guess so but later and both on the road the NAFTA turn around in what like a hundred hours later play against each other in a huge game. See why both teams really do need this game. If the Seahawks lose you can pretty much write them off before and six I believe if they lose the Rams win the Rams actually Clinton division a heredity. Well, which is just insane. Obviously the Packers four four on one. Need a win to keep pace with the Vikings and bears. I I do not. I think it's going to be really tough Green Bay to turn around and go into Seattle and win this game. So I will pick for the first time I believe this whole season. I will that I would take the Seahawks with the points here. All right. Let's let's move to the regular scheduled Sunday games of the Carolina Panthers traveled to Detroit. Take on the Detroit Lions sky book has the lion's plus four. Man alliance looked awful against the bears. They lost by sixteen. Good have been thirty. Obviously the four stowing spy Coney Margie, if even to those going, it's a complete laude it felt like one. Anyway, I think the Panthers come off the mad after that ugly Thursday loss to the Steelers and they get the mini by they come back. And I think they roll up the lines on the road here. This is a fascinating line to me right here. Fresh off their win over the Super Bowl champion. Philadelphia eagles. Dallas Cowboys traveled to Atlanta who are coming off a loss to the Cleveland Browns. Falcons, minus three. Yeah. I, you know, I think this is the ultimate Vegas not having recently bias, obviously, you're knowing those two games in some part and. If you look at the yardage. I am sure you watch both those games, obviously. But that falcons loss I didn't feel like they their offense. Just they just didn't score points. They didn't score touchdowns. Like they were down in there. And they didn't punch it in. There are different team at home. I actually I like the falcons to beat the Cowboys. I said this division was over the NFC east last week. I stand by that. I think ultimately the the falcons win this game. The Minnesota Timberwolves traveled Chicago to take off bears. You'll be Butler. What timber wolves Minnesota Timberwolves? Yes. Fresh off of their loss of new eagles cornerback Jimmy Butler. The honestly not the worst idea Minnesota Vikings travel to Chicago to take. I had no idea that the Chicago Bears. Scott book is the bears minus three. Yeah. I do not like that line for the bears..

"For home dot com flash underdog. All right. Mr. Khanna, I wanna stick with this the Celtics team for a second. Because you know, there's there's another issue that may or may not be cropping up. The Celtics say it isn't Celtics fan Bill. Simmons says it is that Terry Rozier is. Incredibly unhappy right now. And you know, he's asked the traded. So if you're if you're Boston, would you trade Brown and Phoenix to Brown, and and and Rozier to Phoenix for Reza and they're unprotected first round pick. Oh, yeah. Absolutely. 'cause like what are you getting for rosier rosier is going to be a free agent after the season as right? I believe he's restricted, but yes, okay? And then Brown is it after I think after twenty twenty or twenty nine after the twenty nineteen season twenty nine twenty twenty season. Yeah. So yeah. I mean, I think you have to do that. I know that rose ears kind of a glue guy for them. But he hasn't been playing all that. Well this season. He's been fun. I guess but pretty much the same guy that he's been and. Yeah, like, I know that he's in your career insurance. But I think a reason a piece that you can use right away. I love a Reza pretty much fills their Jaylen Brown role as far as like a defensive a really stud defensive guy. He's not gonna complain about his playing time at all. He's you Senator three point shooter than Brown too. And he's used to being a role player. So and then that unprotected first holy cow. That is gold. So yeah, I do that without hesitation, I doubt the sons do that without massive protections on that first rounder. I don't know how massive they have to be. So I'm trying to see trying to see where the sun's picking right now. I know obviously, they are. They're struggling a bit out of the gate with very young roster. And the Devon Booker injury was a problem as well. So right now, the sun's okay right now this picking number one. So. What it's worth pointing out there tied for number one. It's a different lottery this year. So it's not true true, given but say it's this year top three nights scare I don't know if they get top five I would do top three. Because if I'm Phoenix, I've I like I kind of like Rozier Booker Brown, and and Ayton as four of my building blocks moving forward. Yeah. I'd rather have the top three pick. No, I don't I don't know. So so you're gambling though. So. I don't know that you like reddish how much how much of you watch this year. I seem you watch do Kentucky game. I like him. Did you watch the Duke army game as well? Have you seen seen them twice can't say that? I I saw a little bit of it. Just because I'm fascinated by this date thing. I think that they could I doubt they go undefeated. But they have a potential to be one of the most dominant one year teams we've ever seen obviously. But I yeah. Like, so you're saying does camera tish really is he better that to those two boys Cam radish better than Jaylen Brown that? I think that's the question. I don't think. So I don't know. I think it's just way too early to say on that like, I would have said college. I like I like him right now more than Jaylen Brown outta college. That's fair. But that's fair and players get better in the NBA. But Brown has been way better than I expected him to be that when I was terrified that Philly was going to trade. It's funny to talk about these moves in retrospect because there was a time when I was just horrified. The Sixers going to trade delillo ca for for the number three pick in the draft, and then waste that on Jalen Brown..

"The. Pete bring. Cone. Welcome to the underdog upset number ninety five and Chris Hubbard joined by on shoe, Kana Khana what's going on buddy. Not too bad on this end. Chris it is very odd to hear your voice. So sparkling in my headphones here. Well, I'm sorry. You have to go through that. Immaculate. I'm I could not be happier. This is incredible. Yeah. People should notice. We are. We're going with the different means of recording the show this week. So any and all audio issues any in most audio issues should be put to bed if you have any of you hear anything, let us know. But things should be good moving forward. Let's start with the two thousand eighteen major league baseball World Series. Mr. Khanna, Boston Red Sox loss Angeles Dodgers feeling about this gonna be super interesting. I was going back and forth. The I've picked against the Red Sox every series. I think Chris. So it's it's pretty sweet to see them make it all the way through to beat the vaunted Yankees and the the Astros. It's weird to think of the Red Sox underdogs. But here we are in. I think there were dozen both those series. So you know, it's weird to have a hundred eight win team be that. But you know, they've rallied and Barron unconventional favorite. And you know, starting with the pitcher tonight, which is Chris sale. Not really sure what to expect him. That's been the case around the playoffs. Obviously hospitalized. We'll see what he looks like but going to be really interesting and then the dodgers on the other end. I mean, not many people had them making it here either. I mean, despite the fact that they are loaded in there as close to a juggernaut arisen, the analysis far as money and prospects in everything, but you know, a lot of people at the brewers I think that series. I went back and forth about six times. That was such a fun series. And it'll be if they can replicate it here in the World Series of awesome. Where do you say a lot of lot of Manny Machado controversy where do you stand on Machado? In what way I mean as a as a as a baseball player as a respectable, upstanding baseball. Oh, yeah. Those are two different things. Think about when it comes to jot. Oh is an immense talent. Obviously he had a rough twenty sixteen or twenty seventeen is twenty eighteen was outstanding especially when he got traded. And you know, but the stuff that we saw that brewers series makes me like him a lot less, and it's interesting, you know, starting with free agency last year where he demanded a play shortstop, and then going from there, you know, we're talking about an all world defensive third baseman in a pretty average shortstop. I mean, he's got all the town in the world, but that demand, and then obviously, we've heard this Johnny hustle stuff in the end of that he did not want to run out ground balls, and he doesn't consider himself at now, you have Christian yelich who many people like, and, you know, a pretty popular player and by all accounts, a pretty good, dude. Basically calling him in 'em effor in in the post after After the..

"Like does not even when people didn't like Obama. We weren't talking about the twenty fifth amendment. I'm sure I would like a poll on how many Americans, even with the twenty fifth amendment was say, circa two thousand fifteen because I bet it was not very many, and now everybody knows what it is and that's indicative of something. So I think that even I'm not saying that it's not a big deal even if he was being dismissive that they brought it up. I just don't know that it's like you said, like deserving of this sort of front page story. Well, let's be grateful for things before we move on to talk about another front page story, the front page story really over the weekend, Sarah. What are you grateful for this week? I am grateful for this wonderful story. This is we were just kind of bust on the New York Times and the New York Times called the coders of Kentucky. It's by Arlinghaus child who wrote strangers in their own land. Selection from the panther politics but clip several or last year. I guess it's a brilliant book about she went and lived in Louisiana and really tried to understand the far right in pockets of the country really good, but but she wrote this really great article about a program in hughesville Kentucky, which takes unemployed, underemployed trains them in coding and employs them in this new like forty thousand dollar a year job. And you know, it's this great combination of long long-term Representative in Kentucky Republican. How Rogers in fact, I think he is the long currently the longest term congressman, pretty sure. I mean, he's like you're talking like thirty plus years, but what frustrated me he said in the article says, Mr. Rogers is a conservative who represents Kentucky's fifth district home to many unemployed coal miners, and one of the poorest most population depleted districts in the country. He found an unlikely ally in Mr. Khanna a progressive democrat and former official in the Obama administration who represents California's seventeenth district. One of the richest fastest. And in most liberal districts in the country, because this guy was he has a startup that trains people and how Rogers reach out to him. But why is it unlikely, what are they unlikely allies. Ally isn't unlikely that two Americans would say, hey, I have surplus over here that can help your country over there because after all we are all Americans, but I am grateful that they got together have created this program that is really benefiting people in one of the poorest parts of the country. Most certainly the poorest part of our state of Kentucky an area that has been exploited and undercut and ignored for far too long. I think this is a fantastic program and I hope they are able to scale it up to other areas of Kentucky and other areas of the country. It's wonderful such an inspiration to you think about how many humidity's there are to be doing things like that. If we could just stop bickering and start to work on problems. So that's awesome. I am grateful for something on the international stage that I feel has not gotten quite enough attention here in the United States. In may nineteen ninety eight. A war began between Ethiopia and era trio over the exact location of the border between those two countries. And it was a devastating war as as war is right. It ended in two thousand, but peace was never fully restored last week too key crossing points between these two countries were reopened after twenty years, this has been an area of really intense fighting and this is a huge symbol of reconciliation. People have been dancing in the streets. There've been so many celebrations. You can find all these wonderful quotes from family members who've been reunited because they hadn't had access to each other for two decades. In July, the leaders of those countries signed a peace deal, restoring diplomatic and trade relations. But this this was really a moment of feeling that on the ground and allowing people to come back together, the chief of staff for Ethiopia's prime minister said, our recent tragic history is coming to an end and a couple of links. Show notes that pictures of celebrations are just really touching. It's impossible. I think to look at this story closely and not feel very moved by what's happened next up. We are going to talk about the latest accusations against supreme court. Nominee break Cavanaugh..

"It's great. We've really just break things down. Carter court yet. Right? That doesn't carry Collins. John Carter, like Archie is on that team jar on that team or tight end was Kyle Brady. Right team. He was out for take. I don't think Joe are vicious on that team, Freddie, Scott bottled water them really, really, really good by the way by the way, Kyle Brady the number nine pick. Oh, nineteen. Ninety five and. Very hiding stuff right there. Yes, very exciting. Penn State team of twenty three years ago. I'm sure that's going to bring the listeners in with the ten state alumni. Everything is knee, but but it works. Podcast, hipsters sprout spot guests. Well, that's certainly true. I've always identified as a hipster podcast, and that were the case. I would go ahead and hang myself right now off the balcony, but. Okay. I wanna stick with Jerry Jones. I want to stick with the Dallas Cowboys in the news that Travis Fredericks been diagnosed with gal beret. This is crazy. This came out of nowhere. Yeah, it is. I mean, just from a football perspective, obviously, this is one of the two or three best centers in football. You know a team that really, I think when you look at what they did this off season and you know, they cut Bryant a lose win. You know, they add Michael gals. I'm guessing that I'm trying to think of anything. I mean, this was basically they're going to get the critical season. You know, it's like season or a year where they're going to go hard after basically building around that run game and maybe the short passing game. And you know the loser center is so versatile. And you know who knows how long Rappaport said today that they've been talking about this of weeks and months, which is a good sign obviously for chess Frederick, who was recently extended, I believe as well. But you know, I, I mean, that's that's a telephone. It's I, you know, I look at this tomboy schedule and I gotta tell you, I'm. I'm not. We're not doing are betting segment here, but I'm hammering beyond around wins. I think it said at some of the navarine eight. And you know, I just I think they are going to be a problem on offense. And you know, there has been an issue for a while now they're secondary's is not very good. You know, I just I don't see the winds coming for this voice team. They've lost so much. Yeah, with with situations like this, it doesn't matter if you're fan of the team or their your team's biggest rivals. That stuff could not mean this. You know, this is this is a human thing you want. You want Frederick to be okay, auto immune diseases. They're scary. You never really know how guys gonna react and how he's going to react until they get a little bit into the treatment. It has been mentioned as weeks, but there's no timetable for his return and you just don't know nothing. Nothing for the rest of Travis Fredericks. Careers guaranteed. So it's rough, right? We wish wish him the best. Or Senator or not. A lot of love for them, former badger, heckuva, heck of an offensive line down there in the scouts in this year. Mr. Khanna. That's right. Potentially three top fifty s picks and try to Frederick part of the long lineage of Wisconsin to pros that we've seen here in the last few years. So hopefully he gets better and hopefully this offensive line is somewhere to the performance. He put on there and has since he's joined the pros. So still about a couple of guys who aren't going to be worried about money anytime soon. The Bengals lockup Carlos Dunlap three years. Forty, five million Gino Atkins four year sixty five million taking care of their defensive line today. Yeah, they got paid. And I think that you know, this is this is an underrated defense, I think. And these new players specifically Gino Atkins, maybe? I'm sorry, Carl's don't laugh. There's been underrated. I think you know, Atkins's sort of gotten his do over the years. He's certainly a really good player and everyone knows it. And you know, as we saw with your team last year, I mean, if you can get pressuring get home with the front four, you know, you can create a lotta problems on the back end and it really set the tone for your entire team..

"They were obviously they're asking for a second round pick in the preseason for Josh mccown. I can understand that. Honestly, you know, he's obviously not worth the second round pick in NFL terms but to the Browns. I think he is. This is a guy who is an absolute leader on that football team who everyone admires his work ethic is unquestioned, and he's a guy who I think is going to transition into being an outstanding football coach. The second he's ready to not play football anymore. I'm ready to make him like what coach. Yeah, I mean, and I think this is a great trial by fire opportunity to do that and the other. I guess that's the. Only danger I would have. I would think there might be if in starting Tessler over the town and that's just you don't wanna lose your team and Janssen right now needs all the veteran, you know, support that he can get. So to that end, I mean, if you if you feel like you might lose that allude by benching the count, then maybe you be starting over counselor and it's worth they, you know, not checking the trade market for Casler proving his traits stock potentially. But you know, I think at the same time that by starting counselor, you prove his confidence and again, you you kind of improve stock. So it's an interesting tough call there of regardless Sergey three's worth starting over both. No doubt Bluejays now four to one top of the east. It looks like we're gonna have a game five the CS. Interesting. Interesting. Move for your Packers today. Mr. Khanna you acquire Nile Davis from Kansas City. Chiefs. Running back has been a position of, let's say, need for the Packers. Season, would you make this move. Well, first of all shock, because Ted Thompson, this is the first trait he's made since I believe she doesn't Ken for one Anthony Smith..
