"Of nation dot com better podcast. My name is Oscar operates and this week. It is another wont wont Wednesday. I'm currently putting my hands out demonstrably just Stichting wildly. But luckily, I'm not putting any of it on film. And with me as always is one Mr. Jerod Brown, Jared, how you doing undoing good fired up after listening to that. Carpool karaoke. That's just fascinating stuff did. So that was if you didn't if you haven't heard it yet that is both might mcglinchey and Joe Staley singing a song in the car, and you have to see Mike mcglinchey get after these drums. I mean, there's literal. There's no little rhythm there. But it looks remarkably impressive. It really does. He is not holding back by any means as a big man in what appears to be a small backseat bright red and going for it odd odd, but an impressive bit of knowledge like the to the. To tackles both having such control of that song was really impressive. I I don't know if that was control of the song. But it was certainly a song. I guess the. Do you know what actual was this is what we're going to get real deep? The trivia. What do you know? What's on that was? Yeah. It's the black parade song. And I can't think of the it's the name's gonna scare me. I can't think of the ban. I can see the singers the singers image in my mind. It's like the pseudo Jack white, but it's not really Jack white. It's my chemical romance Mikei. Oh, man. Fourteen year old Jared is not gonna be happy that he forgot that. Yeah. I love how Joe Staley just along for the ride like you can tell he's just kinda humoring little brother. And he and his little brother is just getting after it. It's really really funny. But yeah, that's that's the kind of week. It's been carpool. Karaoke more interesting than the game because the game kind of turned out to be well, it was fun for a minute until it wasn't because the Niners ended up as runners up in the both of all they lost another close. One of the giants. Final score was twenty seven Twenty-three. They blew a ten point third quarter lead. And really it was generational talent against general. Talent as Breda versus saquon Barkley. It was Nick Mullins versus ally to Super Bowls. How the hell they do that manning? And it's just you know, it was the passing of the torch really from from old to new I think that's a wonderful way to put it. I think this game lived up to exactly the kind of marquee match that we predicted two running backs selected in the top ten both with equal abilities and skill sets showing out on Monday night. Yeah. That's that's how I feel about that game. It's time to crack a beer because really the my first take from the game is that the offense is really performing as well as you could hope given the lack of quality quarterback play, folks. Nick Mullins is limited as an NFL passer in cal- Shanahan absolutely knows this and you can tell by his game plan. I think is a great story. It is. I think moans mania is a much better nickname than big dick become original with your nicknames. People come on don't be reductive, you're better than this. But when you lead us passing chart, you you look at everything and it's clustered under ten yards. And if you're between the numbers, you can see maybe a few shots into the intermediate area. But Cal Shanahan's leveraging play action boots are PEOs quick throws to the flats to really keep Nick Mullins in his comfort zone. He was fourteen of sixteen between the numbers and up to nineteen yards down field. And so as long as you keep Nick Mullins in that box between the numbers under ten yards or maybe a little bit deeper. If you're between the numbers. Then you've got a what looks like a functional quarterback. But things get a little dicey outside of their. They really do. I think some of it is mechanical and some of the areas of the field that they try to push the ball to occasionally he doesn't have in buzzword, but sort of the armed talent to do it..

"Apprecia- and this week. It is a win Wednesday, and it's actually Tuesday because we're coming at you from the past it's Tuesday voting day, and it went Wednesday. It's all of amazing this smashed up into one day that is not following any rules of the space time continuum and with me as always is co host, Mr. Jerod Brown Jared. How are you doing today? I'm doing good a day earlier than normal but excited to get at it earlier than normal. Thanks to the Thursday night game in in a little bit of an extended break for the forty Niners to at a good time. That's exactly right. So before we get into the final battle of the ban the game recap. I'm super interested to hear about how you're going to vote on I think prop seven because that's the daylight savings time one, right? I believe that is in. I you know, I've thought about it a little bit because Aaron is one of the places that doesn't do it. There are some drawbacks in both cases, particularly as a teacher. It's kind of nice right now when I go to school in the mornings that it's light out whereas just two weeks ago. I was getting to school rolling around six thirty or so kinda prepping and do an early bird stuff and his dark out and just sort of sets a sort of ominous tone. So I actually kinda dig setting falling back a little bit. So that I get the little bit of daylight in the morning. But I also understand wanting to keep it lighter a little later. It outta here with this politician answer. This non answer answer. It. You can't say both are. Okay. I I'm pinning it down in honor of voting day highly diplomatic. I think I I'd vote to keep it. Oh, man. Yeah. To get rid of it. Get rid of I'm I'm voting from afar with spirit only for California stuff because I'm over here voting in Texas elections, but it wasn't deed the battle of the bay. I have got a Turpin dream APA in American pale ready to go because that game was indeed a dream. I mean, we said at the beginning or in our preview we said the best quarterback is going to win. We just had no idea that best quarterback was going to be McMullan's yet. I did not see that. Come. I mean, I don't know that anybody saw it coming maybe perhaps accept Kyle Shanahan or assumed that he could make it happened on the less, but Nick Molins played. Not not lights out. But better than what the raiders could get their quarterback to play a whether that's coaching whether that's scheme. Whether that's other players around him either way. Nick woolens was the best quarterback on the field. And as a result. Like we thought the forty Niners came out on top pretty impressive while the forty Niners. Do indeed win the final battle of the bay the forty Niners one maybe their most complete game of the Cal Shanahan era. Their highest offensive output of two thousand eighteen thirty four points tied for their third highest offensive output overall in the collar Shanahan era. Of course, the Jaguars forty four points was tops Rams with could O'Brien Hoyer thirty nine points. And then the Rams again and that meaningless week seventeen game thirty four points the forty Niners defense had eight sacks. They are now tied Jared get this. They're not tied for seventh in the NFL. With twenty four sacks on the back of that aid sack performance and they had to turnovers in the game that plus two turnover margin incident. Really tied for the second highest total and the highest attorney over margin in the Shanahan era. Actually, that's surprising. Just because I don't generate a turnovers but overall in terms of a complete game. This was as big and as complete of a game as the forty Niners have ever put together in the Cal Shanahan era. And it took a pretty hapless Oakland Raiders team in order to do it. Typically, the forty Niners..

"My name is Oscar up and this week the walk on Wednesday and the elegant tank continues tomorrow is the final battle of the bay. And boy the Derek Carver's. Nick Mullins sounds like a rating bonanza, and as always with me is one Mr. Jerod Brown, Jared how you doing doing? Well, thanks for having me as always previewing a game. Come in sooner rather than later 's oddly exciting. And now, I guess we can officially make it official official. How many times going to say official in one sentence? Co host of the better rivals podcast. Welcome aboard, my friend. Thank you officially official official and to commemorate this. Of course, you were doing the one thing that all better rivals hosts must do when they are official better rival CEOs and that is consume a frosty alcoholic beverage. So Jared, what are you drinking today? I'm drinking a hanalei island from Kona brewing. Although not located in Hawaii. Currently, unfortunately. Jesus that was fancy. Beer snob. And otherwise, it just I'm, you know, if I'm going to be pretentious. I wanna be full pretentious. I'm surprised like I'm not even an ad. That's great. I love it. I'm over here. Sipping a Spanish red wine. It's great like, I don't even know what it's called. I just know that it's Spanish, that's all you have to know. Yeah. I mean, we can ask I don't know. There's got to be a similarly somewhere on Twitter that could tell us based on bottle. What it's all about the reason it Spanish is mostly just to help me pronounce Gottardi Guillaume when we get to that section of the podcast. So it's just gonna loosen up the tongue. I've often said that's how alcohol in linguistics are tied together. That's right. Take it from Spanish teacher them's the rules. So let's talk about the the whole cardinals game. Because boy was it. I mean, it was it was a pretty good kick to the groin is what I'm going to say the Niners advance, of course in the tournament for the first overall pick. And it was a game that it seemed like the Niners had in hand. I mean, they had a safety. They had two turnovers. Everything looked like they were like it was going to go the forty Niners way. And they were going to get their win and analysis. Sudden it's fifteen eighteen forty Niners lose and they continue their March towards the first overall pick in the draft. They are. And I think that's a good thing. Alternately sort of fan reaction in all admit that. I get caught up in this as well. It's hard not to root for the team in want them to do. Well, but in reality sort of stepping back Monday afternoon looking at the totality of the season. This is the best possible thing that could happen because not only do the forty Niners get another loss. But a team they realistically as we mentioned last week there in direct contention with the cardinals to be one of those top three teams to be picking in the draft. So to have the cardinals at the same time that the forty Niners lose the cardinals get a win and build their record up as rough as it is. And as as you mentioned is poor of a game as it was in the way that they lost almost worse overall a good outcome. And of course, I think if you've listened. His long enough. We've been writing the elegant tank here if for a couple of years, but this is not to say that we think that Shanahan is tanking or that the team should actively lose games. It's just that if they're gonna lose. Well, they're gonna reap the draft rewards. I think the picture that sticks. With me is I I don't know if you saw it, but it's a picture of Shanahan in the locker room after the loss, and he has his back to an equipment car and a football on his hand. And he's just staring off into space, and it looks like someone killed his puppy and that picture is really emblematic of the season because Shanahan no matter..
