I'm wondering about that because my son will go to school in a couple of years and will do. They still call teachers. Mrs i for me. I don't know what. I'm just gonna call him tyler aggressive person but if i heard that teachers were now called by their first names i lose it would be. That would be my thing where i'm like world is changing. There should be some semblance of like respect right like a little bit of like your authority at least for like elementary school and junior high like learn that. Teach that to these. I guess so but does do you ever use it outside of like. I feel like it's just going away. Sorry this is just me thinking about. I think it goes away. But i mean and i'm thirty. I'm an old man. i'm almost forty. I feel like you need the person to tell you. No please mrs you know. Mrs fine is my mother. Call me dan. you know like wait. Why would they call me. Mrs clinton did you guys grow up in those households. Where you call parents by like your friends parents by mr and mrs because i did not and i it was foreign to me i did. And then they would always say oh. Please call me by some of them. Wouldn't but like. My parents expected my friend to call them. Mr and mrs gabriel until they gave permission to say other For me it made me but it made me so uncomfortable. Either way that. I just avoided saying adults names monopoly for the first like you. I like adults to me. Were like lived in a different realm. I guess i had no relationship with adults. You're dead to me. I don't know you like. I was shocked by the kids who be like. Oh hello referring to my parents. Hello eleanor are you talking about. Remember why how are you thinking about others. Just ignore them. Just get the snacks and go back to the video games. And that's like other adults to say. Yeah yeah i. I was good with parents my whole life. I'm good with i found. I felt better around adults. When i was a kid because i feel like they got my quote unquote which was just like repeating stuff. I've heard other adults say at different points in my life. I mean i made. It was easier for me to make adults laugh than kids. I felt like but are you the oldest or an only child. I'm the oldest so that is probably part of it like brief window whereas like you're only points of connection in the world where other were adults. Right right yeah and then my little brothers always had me as like a defraying like it's always my mom and dad and then also john yes. He gets his old john. Mr gabe research. My brother mr cambridge. My brother is a teacher. So he actually. It's funny he is mr. He's mr g which you kind of have to go by name has gay in it and you teach elementary school. You gotta just go. it's g we're not even getting into not hashing out gay and briskly. He principal now. I think i my a friend. Who's an elementary school principal. That's wild yeah star. He started out as a teacher now. He's a principal Started looking at them. And now you're probably got a walkie talkie maybe madden walkie talkies. He's got a flak jacket. Fuck sniper rifle vice-principal these days patrolling the grounds the military of the police have extended to army surplus being given a like arts and crafts teacher now drives around in a on campus. Like other on the football field in the crow's nest no one war pain That's interesting. he's a young principal. yeah it turns out. Well robert funny you say that. That's how i'm realizing that i'm old. Not young 'cause he's not. he seems like a yellow. Gosh and that's the shit that's breaking. My mind is like once your little like my brother in law. My wife's younger brother is a cop. And it's like i've known him since he was like sixteen or seventeen. Now he's a cop that's like you're too young copies brom thirty four. I guess it's over for done everything. Oh no that reminds me of the first time you think like a playboy chick is young. You have that switch over in your life where you were like. I don't think we're just gonna go at that time. I wasn't like reading playboy at twenty five and two thousand and ten in new york city. No it was like you get you all talk about playboy and you're like oh they're eighteen. That seems so crazy and then when once you twenty five you're like she's only eighteen. Feel good anymore or the hop. This cops are two years younger than you. And you're like twenty four and you're like no no way there are. Cops were younger than me. I'm like a young idiot. And i have my thing is that i feel like i just graduated college like a. I just graduated. I'm living in the big city trying to get my life together multiple cities and graduated like over a decade ago. I've also been realizing that. Like anyone in authority figure anyone who. I have like an authority relationship or the opposite like any meeting. I have with someone i i never. I always think they're older. Even if there are nearly a decade younger than me life together are used to like acquaint status with age. And i used to even get acquaint- height with age. I was like taller than someone. "India's was are all by any stretch. There are a lot of tires us up and down the road and. Those tires? Sometimes, it's way goes but. Bristol. and. Richner late so And I would just realize that this race teams in essentials. and. It's about capitalizing on that because. Some great ones put together Really long runs with Chad and Timmy. And the Rodney, Kevin Ataman. Kyle and you know I'm not, I'm not in that category. But what I'm saying is that magic is not easy. and. We right now we're just looking capless and Mr Gabe heart talks about his driver. Denny. Hamlin break down part dose. Well, I think he would take. I think he would tell you it takes everything You know so so I'm sure you know you gotta give credit to everybody. Right? You gotta give Credit Fedex and Joe Gibbs racing and Toyota at all these guys and certainly denny's wealth of experience it's brought into this stage of his career. And I and I think he believes in his race team and that puts him ease. You know all great athletes. Really and truly want to do it. And a lot of ways on their own. They want them to be the differentiator between winning and losing. But this is a team sport as a million moving pieces every week to to give A. Platform that he needs to make that the case. And I think he knows he's got that L.. every single week. If. We xq he's don't have a shock land and he knows it and I think that puts him at mind. Let's put Timothy's, and let's really focus on the mental aspect of going to winning these races. So there you go, you got the the winning duo, they're. Doing, they're winning stuff. That's what they do. That does seem that way him and Harvard I mean my Gosh Yeah how about this ricky stenhouse junior, his car caught fire early in this race. He's okay. Of course out of the car. I'm it's fine but jt dougherty aurora racing. Finishes. Again. So between he and his teammate Ryan priests, they have finished dead last in the last four races, `wow. And their team owner just up and left and is going on TV now. He's still there, but he'll be a presence on. TV, Kinda, done with you people, I'm GONNA. Go get a job. I gotta pay for all this stuff. I mean, it was a costly weekend for them. As a very hard crash as well. But Yeah Kyle, Busch picked up his first stage. One of the season Carey Twenty. Twenty. Got A point playoff point there. He's coming alive. Yeah. Right. He slapped the wall later on Oh, that's right. What a bummer. So, by the way back to Brad Daugherty I'm glad he's coming back. He's so infectious. He's so enthusiastic. Well, hopefully, he's not infectious during this time of COVID. Yeah do he? He's a good guy and it'll be fun to have them back on the broadcasts. You of course, was a longtime ESPN analyst. So that'll be yeah to having back and. Brad, Keselowski onto win stage to in this thing who? Exactly, the talking about what is he talking about? Of course, Braga's laskey. I don't know who you're talking about Gacha. Bottle Wallace Matt Kansas tangled with the forty-three receiving the most damage in that one. Yeah. That's a bummer for Wallace. He's GonNa have a pretty good run of things lately with a bunch of top fifteen's few top ten sprinkled in and Matt Kenseth I don't know what happened there. It looked like canceled. Just kind of Austin. BA- walls didn't have anywhere to go. So that's a that's a bummer for him and you'd think someone of Matt Kenseth stature renewable to wheel a race car while it's been so weird like He finished second at the brickyard, but then he's had so many out to lunch runs as well. I know a lot of it is this weird package that he never ran him before. Also steph man. It's just so weird to see him so far off some weeks but then he'll have like a run like the brickyard who second so. But he's in the top thirty points. If he gets a win somehow magically he's in the playoffs. Joey Logano later on hit the wall. Hard. Causing a huge wreck involved Austin, Dillon Matt Benedetto and others Jimmy Johnson. I was trying to skip over that because I bad memories. Oh, well, I, wanted to make sure we mentioned it Yeah. This is not a good season so far now it's been pretty bad for Jimmy Johnson I noticed. Yes bad wanted to go out on seems yeah. But you know the last three or four or five I don't know how long it's been but. Hasn't been good either. Well. Yeah. But if he keeps coming back eventually gotTa have one good one and go kid go out on. You know you'd think that's all I want is one at this point, go out on top man, just one win. He should have dropped the MIC after the two thousand, sixteen championship season just yeah. When he came from nowhere and won that race in the end Edwards crashed with Llegado that that should have been, he should just drop the MIC and said peace. Yup pulled a Seinfeld. That would be cool. Yeah. It would have been instead of enduring all this pain. 'CAUSE even that year, they weren't very good for most of the season. But had a couple of wins got into the in the playoffs and. Just kind of salvage their way work their way through each around and wants to got to the. Time for that playoff championship race there at home said even started dead last I. Think they had like unapproved adjustments or something started last was. Worst of the four playoff guys all day long. And then towards the end, he just came alive and. You, kind of are wondering why we're not seeing any more of that sense. Then on an extra restart, that was a crazy violent crash. Ryan Preece also, Ryan Newman and Christopher Christopher also involve isn't priests also horny. Yeah he is, and so for him to telling you, Brad. Had to go get a job. For him to walk away from that, though is impressive. That was a vicious, just vicious crash. and we saw several of those at Kansas this week in the Arca race, the the truck racer, the extent of the race, and there was expending race where we saw it as well. So it was kind of a recurring theme. Every Kansas raise, we were seeing this violent crash. and Luckily everybody walked away from it this weekend. But man that was that was very, very scary. He looked more angry than injured. Yes. I isn't man I hope he gets out of that car and he gets out of the Car Mike. Okay He's out and he's mad even to even went back for his mask. I in the presence of mind. That's impressive. Actually that was I made note of that. These guys are like Nascar. them ask he goes right back forward after that kind of a hit. That's impressive. That's right. I'm not going to survive that and die of covid..

"All this started back in two thousand twelve. I been living basically two lives one at home and in public the other word and I got to the point that I couldn't go on living two separate lives. It was tearing me apart and I kind of had the feeling that if I couldn't go forward and I couldn't go backward. What was the point of going on at all so in November two thousand twelve? Oh I stood in backyard with a gun to my chest or an hour an hour. I came to realize that did I really liked me and I wanted to live so I chose life and in doing cnet there was only one place to go in. That was forward though I started writing the letter and then in July two thousand thirteen I gave it to the boss. He didn't really have any reaction at all. He was reading the letter letter himself. I was Kinda like pins and needles waiting for him to finish it and then when he did finish it he Folded it up and put it in his pocket and said I'll have to think about it and then two weeks later. He came back with his own letter. which was my letter dismissal? So you had just been fired. Yes yes and so what did you do. I went home on that Friday afternoon. I talked to my wife and it made me mad mad enough to the point that on Monday morning went to the C. o You and I talked to Mr Gabe Kaplan and he put me in contact contact with the EEOC Equal Opportunity Employment Commission the Federal Agency correct after our talk to the EEOC and they did their investigation and they asked me a question. An question was are you willing to see this through to the end and I told him then that I was raised on a phone that I was used to hard work and it. I didn't give up so easily and it yes I would see this to the end however long that took. I had in my mind what I needed to do. And it wasn't isn't to really settle out of court it wasn't to just give up in walkaway after all this was not only happening to me. The thousands of others at that point. I knew I had to do something. And the only thing I knew to do was basically to take it to court. And that's what you did. That's what I did..

"I really put all him. Yeah. His leaving getting help. But. But no, I don't I don't think I think that day the days of anger in between. There's too many talk shows now right now you get me back. Ten fifteen years. I can tell you some real animosity about different talk show hosts, but those days are over. Now, they're seven hundred talk shows, they're everywhere. What a waste of time for people to be like L fight you for those eight viewers. I mean, it doesn't seem it doesn't seem worth it anymore. I'm being honest, and being honest. I think I think that's a good part of my life. There's none of that anymore. Sorry to have a real moment. What welcome other your real moment. So we can get on here. So that crossed my arms because I'm uncomfortable. What about busy Phillips you met her a little bit? No, should I be busy do. Talk show. She does. Check that out. What what what what are the o'briens have planned for the weekend? Yeah. You and the kids and the wife you have any big plans motion picture over the whole thing is over. Just stepped in it. Yeah. Damage that didn't work. No, I'll be honest with you. My wife is working this weekend. She's writing a writing conference. She works very hard writing the legitimate theater and very smart woman. And so she's working today. And then tomorrow, I will hang out with my kids, and we will mess about fulls frisbee play frisbee the Kennedys. We don't play frisbee. We sit around in a room and their jobs. Tell me their favorite clips from combing. That's normal normal normal thing they make during the week. They have to watch old clips from the show, and they have to tell father for the Latin pod tear, which their favorite clip of the week. Oh, I see. Seventies reference coupling. Yeah. You like growing up jokes Quebec hotter. I liked it for a second. And then straight started on a me horrific. The whole thing. Next guest. Mr. Gabe Kaplan. I really coming to meet him down. Is that true? Yeah. Really who turns? Person gas. Did it shock it with you who turns this down? Does anyone turn it down? I've been here pretty regularly. I'd like to say one hundred and when you can't be here, you've always videotapes something. Yes, true. Yeah. Still I come here. And what do I what do I get when am I gonna be on the show again? Humor. What's for humor is always is it really Freud? Pronouncing friend. Nicely done. Thank you. Override everybody. Hey, Matt you had trouble sleeping the other night. But that may be because of the twelve hours of Kossuth on proceeded that, but let me ask you question is it also positive your credit card bills keeping you up at night. I mean, I got a lot of my mind. Sure that you don't want that kind of thing weighing on you when you try to sleep, maybe your interest rates and the double digits. I.

"Well, there you go. My mom's sister takes antidepressants. Just my mom is still was it denial. Yeah. Probably it might have been. I it was denial. It was lack of understanding. It was ignorance, and it was the Australian buried again. Against her. I don't hold it against her that she didn't see it. I think maybe it was a denial thing. She didn't look into it. She really thought it was a learning disability because she always said that I don't read if you don't read you're not smart, and like all I read some books, but what was hard for me about reading that. I was so busy in my head all the time. It's hard to read a book when your mind's racing back and forth. It's all over the place. Michelle, what are we want to leave our listeners with? I mean because we've we've covered a lot. I mean, this is this is this is not our normal. I hate Michelle Michelle hates Gabe. And then we start screaming at each other show. And that's for the best really is for the best just to leave listeners with suicide is not an answer. And like I said I tried that seven times and I failed seven times. It's not even an easy thing to do. And most likely you'll end up in a psych ward where that's not fun to be in. So. Really weigh your options. And then just don't do it. It's not a good idea. You're going to hurt more than just yourself. You're going to hurt the people around you hurt the people that love you. And if you keep going going with your life things do get better, my life has just gone leaves him bounds better than I ever thought would ever happen in my life. I never thought I'd be recording a podcast with Mr. Gabe Howard and talking about mental health like I do. Now. I thought I'd be pathetic my entire life. I couldn't would never the two are not mutually exclusive. You can be recording a podcast with me and still be pathetic. I guess, but I never really emblazoned a future because I never thought I would get there at that point. I'm still it's still hard for me to envision a future. That's almost my own insecurity, thinking, nothing we'll ever really work out. Of course. Of course, Michelle there's. I want to leave our listeners with a couple of quick things one as we said before suicide doesn't end the pain transfers it to somebody else. There's another quote that I really like that is suicide is a permanent solution to temporary problem. Yes. But the thing that I keep in my head probably fourth most of all after where I can find diet coke at two AM is. Looking back. Now, I realize that I didn't wanna die. I never wanted to die. I wanted the pain to stop. And I didn't know how to make the pain stop. I just didn't. And the only thing that my battered bewildered. Diseased brain could come up with was suicide that is not a good option, and it's far from the only option and once I got treatment, I found all of these better ways to make the pain stop, and that's all I ever wanted. I never wanted to die. I just didn't want to suffer anymore, and I would say to anybody who's thinking about contemplating it has in the past or maybe in the future. You don't wanna die? You want the pain to stop? There are much better ways to make the pain. Stop please. Please invest in yourself and look into them ask everybody that you know, for help go to the emergency room. Call the suicide hotline talk, your general practitioner, go. Oh to the local urgent care. I hear that. You can go to the drugstore and WalMart and see a doctor now, do whatever it takes your life is valuable, and we want you in the world completely agree. Thank you. Everybody. But whatever you do it for Michelle, and I to maintain our high luxury standard of living. We're just we're going to need. We'll see everybody next week. We love you.
