You know I'm going to say at some point and I think that's what they want attention so for you investors out there that want to knock my work had it I don't care I'll I'm GonNa do is the best job I can quite frankly go sound very very poor me I think our team is evolving into one of the better teams in the business period as well I think I'm biased. Well I gotTa tell you I love when we start the show with a red asked Jr and if you've got a case of the red ask maybe you should go to Jim Ross shirts dot com because I feel like whoever wrote that common can't is GonNa love this new shirt from Jim Ross it's you can kiss my dimpled Oklahoma ass it's available for you right now Jim Ryan shirts dot com that's Jim Ross shirts dot com lots of other funny stuff in there cashing creative thimble nights you got to hear this guy this guy is Samir this group whatever it is company we've site there the epitome of thimble moments they're little balls would not fit to it kimball and they hide behind social media and their little pimple face I I'm embellishing now going off on it here too just to be a piece of crap back and it's not fair to anybody that especially guys that profess that they love the wrestling business how could he love the recipe the dial on the hill the jungle Jack Perry some good boy he's gentle boycott damages external got damaged nobody's Jr now do you that guy we're kind of me if you saw on the street or an event and commit to introduce some say hey I'm the one that's been writing this stuff about you of course not you know on read because they're little balls have plenty of room leftover enough temple when we when we doing today I'm GonNa show you how to meet motherfuckers and then it gets hot about it okay it's been a long day we had a great show Wednesday night Philadelphia crowd is assist amazing so much fun to work with and work for and I thought the guys worked tarred everybody's a booker man everybody's created genius there was a booker enough knowledge to be dangerous and this is a very sensitive time in our business for all the information flow on social media gives people the right in their view due to profess to be somewhat experts you're not you're fan so you differentiate two things you're not an expert I'm an expert you're not an expert Conrad's expert so about to meet that Guston Bay just to have a chat with him to say look what is your problem do you understand the big sure how to broadcast wrestling I'll give John Trying to Juggle Board Jack Egan more personality he's been it'd be a player man and so what is he doing he's thirty five So go jungle boy gentleman are Juggle Juggle Jack I don't know what he's going to be but right now my mind's eye I'll give you all I can I want to get him over and that's what we did Wednesday night our goal is to create new stars and to get these guys over this like last week with George L. Mash with Kenny Kenny Omega that on the dark show youtube channel they killed it man that's a pay per view match and then somebody said well. Jr all the mashed portraying Moxley and pack Kenny and Hangman a main event yeah I sure did therefore the highest guys in the company therefore minivan guys just caused close the show doesn't mean they can't be considered as a the main event not the main event so maybe should listen maybe should listen get that adolescent earwax out your ears and listen to what we're saying thank you hey before we usually off your soapbox do you have a strong opinion about millennials Yeah Yeah Oh yeah right you know this is so fun for me when when one of my friends has fired up like this and it feels like this'll be great a lot to plug Baluchi but we're not going to but we are going to talk about is taboo Tuesday two thousand four but before we do a do feel like we should it's on at least one piece of news I know everybody is talking about this week unfortunately our old friend Mr Eric Bischoff made some headlines this week when it was made public that he is no longer employed by world wrestling entertainment when he saw the headline you probably on your way to Philadelphia we're in Philadelphia or what was your reaction. I was not surprised the only thing that I would consider being being surprised by was the timeframe it was certainly a direct in my opinion I may be wrong I haven't talked to Eric Your your communication obviously because you guys do a show eighty three weeks on the draw so Monday I think a so I'm a fan of Eric Eric and I have had our differences over the years this that's that's a long time ago this whole scenario set up for a succession process do you think that Bruce is safe think Bruce has got a job like Supreme Court justice for life are you kidding you don't think that I guarantee you don't think that he knows the his time will come its football coaches they get hired to be fired and the guys in that position Bruce Lindsey is in now run smack eh can you imagine a few years ago cut I've been in these meetings man I've been the old man when he's talked about Bruce and he's talked about Bischoff and sometimes they weren't in terms like you talked about me I get it so I'm not surprised at all but I have surprise regarding the timeline but for God's Sakes I didn't know that the Friday night smackdown show was going to lose a million viewers per week one to week tell us a million I expect that so the calamity there and of course we'll keep Fox happy I don't blame me like a lot of money they're gonNA scare the game so how how have you talked to Eric yes how's he doing you know I think he's probably a little shocked but you know Eric is a man's man in that Eric Ain't going to sell it and you know I'm sure we'll talk about it a lot this coming one day on eighty three weeks and get is full take in whatever statement he wants to put out there but I think a lot of people were off-guard certainly with the timing but If we know anything about Eric Eric knows how to find a way to land on his feet and yeah pretty sure that's not going to change here if I got a nice little package walking away vissel this'll take good care of you and he's kicking you out the door he gave me something to go home with something in your bag so you can remember him by former cash pay out at and he deserves that but the the way that this thing set up I knew when when Eric got his it's Joe for your deck and create a new structure but the infrastructure there's a little sketchy at best it's the last guy you talked to sometimes there's a lot of mistrust looking over your shoulder type situations things that we don't have an aws can thank God at least not yet and so I i Eric Eric on his feet he'll be just fine and you know I've got all the concerts worldnet deal but he was he was a foil he's a guy he took the hit you're not even freestyle that if you go back when we did an episode right after he was hired one of us freestyle the hey do you think that maybe he was hired so you could sort of keep stockholders who were concerned about a weaker number or whatever this is a recognizable named throw out but also to if disappointed Fox and there was they did take a nail and foxwoods may be wondering we make a bad decision this gives away for them to sort of give them head with the idea being that if you if you fire and notable name and it looks like Oh they're making changes but yeah police ship two weeks yeah and he's going to be proactive he's not going to let this thing get away from him Blah Blah Blah I know I I don't think that Fox box wanted now I might be wrong on this Conrad I believe my my belief is that box would have preferred to have Paul Heyman as their Guy correct I think the new one this this sort of billion plus in your pocket and so having a ham interactive those guys very well too so what area doc but it was a who was get the GIG man was going to keep it as long as the ratings are okay they had a phenomenal first week nice ratings congratulations we w for that and then the bottom fell out but that's not totally shocking but the bottom line was somebody took the fall I didn't think Vincent put a Bulletin Erica a quick but all those guys are in the top positions.

"I think he always felt like a little bit because you've got so many bullets. They might be living on borrowed time anyway. Luckily that did not come to fruition and hardly little nice law. I think i think cardi was seventy. Six passed away. I used to our conrad my age right now when i was younger outside man. I'll take seventy six any day not so much right now. Let's review with those numbers but that's the thing thing about. I think he had a i think he kind of knew he kind of knew that you had died so many bullets. It was inevitable that something's going to happen that boat then that boat accent was horrific ethic how he survived. That's bitch. I'll never know i really don't some says you think hard to go to heaven. I said well if you believe in heaven inhale. I think he'll go to heaven because the good lord had plenty of chances to take him all along we just waited and waited a saving it and and <hes> the effect effect that was it got to no longer and that was a blessing in our lives of course we talked about harley race being the king of wrestling and maybe that was a rib but wasn't a rib is that harley race was wrestling royalty us go to great friend of the show and my co host on eighty three weeks mr eric bischoff to tell a story about his memories of the respect that harley race carried in wrestling you know like so many legends <hes> that many of us have grown up watching and then very few of us have been fortunate enough to work with highly race stands out for a lot of different reasons one in particular though <hes> was the level of respect that i think harley race commanded when he walks into a room and it was respecting a couple of different levels obviously his legacy as one of the industry's top guys was probably the catalyst for a while all of that respect but it went beyond that and my first exposure to it was really like so many things in the awa <hes> when i i really really started in the backstage part of the business you know when i when i first got the awa i was on. I was in the office. I wasn't really anywhere near the backstage the stage area so i didn't see what went on behind the curtain of speak when that change and i was finally involved in production. Certainly i get to see much more about the industry than i previously had and one of the things that i remember the most was going into in arena in rochester minnesota where the awa was producing their show for e._s._p._n. At the time and there was a lot of off laughing and joking super bowl you know pre show banter that went on in the locker room at that time and it was i won't i won't call it kind of a frat that house environment but it it may have been close and i specifically remember. I wasn't a part of that. Certainly i was young. I was new to the business. I was still what kind of an outsider and and green is to be on top of that but i remember what hurry race arrived at the arena and walked walked backstage into the room. It's got quiet and it got quiet in a way that was obvious to me even at the time without without really knowing harley or his history. It was obvious to me. Harley race commanded respect. It wasn't that everybody in the locker. You enjoy books, but this is without question the very best book ever written oppression, wrestling, especially if you're a WCW fan and we can't thank enough for taking all the time for putting this together. You're not have talked about the sky, but how many hours, do you think you have in this project, like all told your research interviews, the formatting all together come any, I wouldn't even like to begin to gas Conrad to be honest with? I mean, it was a three and a half year process from beginning to end a lot of things happened in the intervening period of times, where I wasn't able to, to work on him. My son was born in the middle of that time. And there was about a six month period where you know that the book took a back seat, and there was some questions in my own mind. If, if if and when it was going to see the light of day, but I just want to say, you know, I, I really appreciate you guys breaking you full Matt and having me on. You know, I hope I hope that, you know, I did a good job with the book. I certainly have a lot of respectful for February involved really in, in the wrestling, business and never never approached this from the perspective of being a Monday morning quarterback in sort of ranting and raving about what I think, you know, we went well, and what didn't go so, well, I really wanted the people who were that to drive, the story drive the narrative and today. I just feel very grateful that some of those relationships that I built and, and the people gave me that time and, and also. What the end product is. I just just very fortunate that it ended up the way that it did. So I thank you guy. Just. Thank you. Thank you very much for doing such a great job. I appreciate that. Thank you. And thank you everybody for tuning in. We'll be back next week with a little special extra something we don't normally do. I can't believe this is happening. Right. But next Monday. It's your birthday. Big boy, are you excited nervous anxious because I got some surprises lined up for you. All right. Cat Scott next week right here on eighty three weeks with Eric Bischoff.

"Leave. Well, lots of people are going to get their chance to leave on February second Meltzer would report. There was what he would call major bloodletting at world championship wrestling resulting in significant changing in the corporate hierarchy, including the loss of power for both Bill. Watts and more particularly Jim Rawls Bill show and Bob do who were put in charge of the company nearly a year ago from the now retired Jack, Patrick I've taken a more hands on approach in recent weeks rather than leaving much the decision making to watts. They've divided the company into three categories pay per view division headed by share sharing. Sedillo a television division headed by an unnamed individual who is expected to be named this week. And a wrestling product division headed by watts sedillo and the television had whose title be executive producer of w w we'll have the final say so on matters relating to their divisions, including the matches that air on. Vision on pay per view shows since in reality television is the most important facet of a wrestling company. The new executive producer may wind up as the most powerful person in the front office, executive producer. Apparently will be either Keith Mitchell, David Crockett, Tony shivani, Eric Bischoff or someone not currently working in the company at present speculation within the company over the past weekend. Is that Mitchell or Bischoff had the best show on the position? In addition, the largest booking committee in recorded history was put together to put storylines and decide on who gets pushed Jim Ross whose official title had been vice president in charge of television took the biggest fall of anyone he will be removed as a personality from all TBS shows affective March first and will no longer be part of the announcing team on clashes and pay per views and its final major assignment will be the February twenty first Super Bowl three show from ashville and the March seventh a pay per view. Air date of the January fourth Tokyo dome card. He's been the lead announcer on every clash since the series began in eighty eight. And he's been a part of the announcing team for every pay per view in company history. In addition to being announced as voter or an answer of the year and the wrestling observer newsletter poll by wad margin. The last five years the decision to replace JR a Roth rather as lead announcer. And in fact, eliminate him from all TBS broadcasts appears to be related to his falling saw in the front office when the two different emotions should've been judged on h is individual merit rather than collectively I suppose those who look at a wrestling show like the six PM news may knock Rawls because of his accent. Or because he doesn't look like Bischoff. But that would be missing the point that the stars of wrestling show were supposed to be the performers the announcer is not akin to a news anchor man and Alicia Vanni, and in particular Bischoff, or as a depth that announcing wrestling matches and getting the points that need to be across. To the audience better. This decision makes a little sense. So let's talk about this JR is officially resigning on February twenty fifth so just less than a week after Super Bowl. This is his last major show was making somewhere between one hundred fifty and two hundred thousand dollars a year. But when this division of power happens JR's on his way out and this unnamed person who's going to become the most powerful person in the front office is the host of this show. Mr. Eric Bischoff. Tell me how you remember all of this going down. Before we get a just wanna take one sip. In in revisit what we're talking about. With Bill Watson, cutting people's contracts and the difference between for example, John be bad making one hundred fifty six and being paid on a nightly, and I say this not to be defensive or or to prove I'm right in which accused of from time to time, and I know guilty of but just want people to keep in mind in terms of timeline context. Truth versus fiction. I often get labeled or or saddled with the fact that you know, I ruined wrestling because I was first one to offer guaranteed contracts as we've just discussed in pre significant detail has was reported by Dave Meltzer and others in what was generally known to be true. Those contracts existed long before I was anything other than a guy that took out the garbage WCW. So I just wanted to make that clear because this this this podcast gives us the opportunity to really drill into these types of situations and provide clarity. So we'll set that off to the side. Now in terms of Jim Ross and the real transition here in the creation of the executive producer a role. I'm not sure we're day was getting his information. I'm not sure where I was in the interview process when this story broke, you know with. Dave or how he knew I was even in the running. Maybe it made it I'm not suggesting that he was wrong, by the way, we'll make that clear because I do special pricing kicking his balls when he is wrong. But he may have been right. It may have been pretty well known that I was at least interviewing for the position. I I would think so I think that was kept fairly, discreet until it was announced because I didn't know who else they were interviewing presentable, I didn't know while I was interviewing that's the only show on he was being interviewed. If indeed he was I don't know. I've never talked to Tony about that. Maybe you know, better than I do. I don't know the Keith Mitchell was being interviewed for the process. He may have been it wouldn't surprise me. If he was David Crockett same thing. But I wasn't aware of it for sure I was also aware that they they meaning Bill Shaw was interviewing people from outside of WCW in the main point in all this.
