There was a great column written by Adam Coleman, a young black American about this lie that Kamala Harris is perpetuating. We had a chance to catch up with Mr. Coleman himself. Let's start with the big lie. I understand the bromide, well, you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it. But this is way deeper than that, isn't it? Yeah. I mean, it is way deeper and it's actually something, you know, she didn't invent this. This is something that, to be honest with you, Democrats have been doing for a number of years. I'm a former Democrat myself and it's one of the things that pushed me away from the It's the constant usage of black Americans to weaponize it as some sort of emotional leverage for other Americans to dictate how they vote, to dictate who they hate. And I honestly get tired of it, but at this point, I think it's important for someone like myself and many others to point out how this manipulation is happening, not just with black Americans, but with identity groups. Identity politics has ruined politics in general. You write in your column, there are some lies that set the groundwork for political dialogues surrounding a topic solely for the purpose of making their adversaries fight an uphill battle to disprove a false narrative or statement and attempt to slow down a fast-moving and well-traveled lie. I spoke to a liberal friend of mine last night, lives in New York City, 11 o'clock last night. He said, can't believe you guys, you're willing to defend a party that wants to erase Emmett Till from our memory. So in other words, you talk about a well-traveled lie, it has already resonated with millions of Americans, Adam. Yeah, exactly. And then one thing about, you know, we learned as kids, the telephone game is that that one lie manifests into other lies because people just, you know, they don't know what was told to them, they add on things, they change words, they change meanings. That's the masterpiece in political lies. Adam B. Coleman is our guest, author, columnist, WrongSpeak Publishing. You can follow him on Twitter, at wrong, lowercase speak. I got to ask you about what you said about the usage of black Americans to advance an agenda. I got chills yesterday seeing Biden surrounded by a lot of activists and a lot of advocates for black Americans sign a memorialization for Emmett Till. There's going to be, you know, a statue, I guess, for Emmett and his mother, Mamie. We all know the story of the horrific, horrific murder of this young kid, the acquittal of the two white men who murdered him by an all-white jury.

I didn't know if i could interact as well. Socially i felt awkward Just speaking to people they said i had to get used to the fact that there is a view the device that looks like a roomba that goes throughout the office all day. Eight seven seven three. Dp show and i watched urban meyer last night this only pre season and you wear those losses it just it. It felt like he was Lateness season at ohio state when he was winning every game. And you just wonder. How many games is trevor lawrence lost in his career going back to high school because i think he started as a freshman i think he lost two games maybe in his high school career. How many games did he lose it. Clemson three two or three. Yeah mclovin. i think it's isn't a to just the two playoff games. Okay lost one to notre dame but he was out with covert. i think. Thirty four and two in college and lost two games in highschool. He's in a fly by that around. You told me she's whisk path that because you know you go to a bad team and you can't get used to losing you don't want to get used to losing but you can't let each loss just kill you internally and that's what we all worry about urban meyer because you care so much you your program to expect to win. You're the best team every saturday when you're the college coach now you're probably going to an underdog in just about every game that you play and i wonder about that whole mindset of your out there to win. You expect to win you hope to win but the reality of this is. You're probably not going to trevor. Lawrence has gone out there sixty times in his high school and college career and he is one fifty six of those sixty games. He's gonna lose more games in the first three months of the season then. He's lost in his entire career. And you're not programmed that way they go seven ten. That's a good season. he'll lose more games. then he has an innocent entire career. An urban meyer too. Because you can't accept it you can't accept losing you don't want to accept it but you also you have to know that that's part of the growing process. Here's urban meyer. After the loss last night. We're not balanced right now and when you get stuff done. We're too many second off off schedule. Plays in the first half three threes and out other than that one first down so that and then the red zone this today. I say know chevy nice job and that two minute drill enabled pouted in there so i got to get her off line back and play better you know and and run the ball. Hope that your offensive line can be good because if not then put in gardner shoe like i don't want trevor lawrence out there i. I hope that he plays for me. But i got i got look at this. As a long-term investment sean payton talked about his quarterbacking situation. And i don't think he has any answers. Yeah when we we know what direction we're going. We'll we'll let you guys know and we're not going to try to anticipate saying hey it's gonna be mid week or next week. I think the best way for us to handle it and kind of how. We've always handled something like this. But but i was pleased with. Not just the quarterbacks. I was pleased with how he played as a team for the most part all right. Do you believe that he doesn't know who is quarterback is going to be in week. One he doesn't have to tell us. But i also think that would go a long way with jameis winston if you go. Hey your guy like i. I want him to have confidence that he is my guy. I don't want it to be tastes. Them hasn't ira jamie's here or starting quarterback tastes him is going to be able to play like james either your quarterback or he's not taste him is going to get in the game because you're paying him a lot of money and he can play a lot of different positions. That's why i'm always curious about when you name your starting quarterback and how sensitive do you need to the second guy. If sean payton knows that it's winston. I know he wants to give him that confidence that your guy get ready for week one. But what about the guy who feels okay. I didn't get full shot for my coach and let go till the end. I'm not here to keep everybody happy. I gotta do what's best for the team. Your feelings may be hurt pace. Them wants to be a starting quarterback but the consolation prize is you get to play you get to be a kick returner you get to be a tight end you get to be a wide receiver. You get to be a running back. You get to play jameis winston. If he doesn't start not playing. And if you're sean payton this is coach. Who has become accustomed to playing know big games in the playoffs eight. They potential super bowl team. And this is a big decision. Do i think he knows who was. Quarterback is yeah but i think he wants to see this one more game and maybe if tastes hill plays well. Then maybe that tips. You know the the scales here but i. I'm guessing that he probably looks at jameis. Winston and saying i get the best of both worlds. I got a quarterback who is only twenty seven has a good arm and i can still incorporate.

"Ken Coleman Ramsey. Personality is my co host today. Open phones at Triple 882552 to 5. Danielle is with us. Daniel is in Germantown, Maryland. Hi, Danielle. How are you? Hi, Mr Ramsey. I'm doing well. How are you today? Better than I deserve. What's up? And high. Mr Coleman. I want to say First of all, it's a pleasure to talk to you guys. And I want to also say a huge thank you to you, Uh, Mr Ramsey because of you and your principles, not only have my husband and I have been able to Pay off debt and you know, with a lot of hard work and a literal prayer miracle we were able to pay off our debt and be debt free. Six months early. Yeah. He thinks, and that's also freed me to pursue. You know this God given cough that I have to, um, open a Christian school right outside of our nation's capital. So I'm really excited about all of us that cool. Wow. Which leads me to my question. Flash problem. Last week, I was listening and you told a young lady. That you really want to rewrite this narrative that in order to do righteous work, you have to be broke. And I completely agree. I feel like you shouldn't have to be. Um, but the problem that I see, particularly for private schools and especially Christian schools, is that There's a revenue problem. Um, most Christians will most private schools rely almost 100% on tuition. And, um, that poses a problem because you can't pay teachers what they deserve to be paid. Um, can I think you said the national average is about 60,000 and I know in many schools Teachers in private schools, especially Christians, getting paid less than that, and in order to pay them more. You typically have to hike up tuition, but then that's breaking the backs of the people that you truly want to serve. And so I just wanted to know what are your thoughts and how we can Fix this problem and rewrite this narrative because I 100% agree with you. I just can't think of the solution. How old is the school? And how many students do you have? So, um, it is I'm actually in an interesting situation. I am just joining the school. The school has been running for 21 years. It's a niche school for students with learning differences from sixth grade through 12th grade, and the hope is to grow that, um, ultimately from pre sported 12th grade in the coming years. The car. And what's the cost of tuition right now for 60 approximately $20,000 a year. So if you were going to pay teachers more have you run a model out as to how that would affect your tuition. So I have not honestly, um, this miracle kind of just happened where I'm just now starting with this job, But I will say that, um, from our what I know of our finances. Right now, most of that goes towards teachers, salaries and, um And the reason that the tuition is what it is, is that, um, to cover those things, but we tend to not when you include Jesus and a lot of things. You don't get a You don't really qualify for a lot of the grant or other things that he's done, but I have not. Okay, so first thing. First thing. I think you got to run the model. Okay, Because you've got to really see all right. If we were raised the salaries of our teachers by X amount of dollars, you just run the numbers. And then you've got to play that out. You got to know what you're dealing with First. The second thing I would recommend is that I think, by the way, I'm very, very drawn to your mission. I have a child that that requires some special education services. And I love what you're doing. And these families almost come to this school almost as a last resort. It's It's a real oasis. I'm guessing and, yeah, so couple of things you got going on there because of the demand of that. I think you've got to look at separate fundraising. I think you've got to really come over the model where we're going to. We're going to offset tuition by. We're going to get really serious about raising money, and then you're going to get to some high net worth individuals That's going to take some time. But I think that's got to be a strategy. Long term. And then, um, I would also tell you that, uh, part of this is, uh, opening up more space. If you can do that, when you get more kids than it kind of scales out so There's really no silver bullet answer. But, um, I think that if you can make the case over time, and you're winning for these families, and it doesn't get too ridiculous, um, I think with those three strategies, you can get those salaries up into at least the average in your area. How many teachers do you have? Um, we have about six teachers. Some of them are part time. Some are full time. Six teachers. Yes, And how much and even for me. I'm the vice right now. We have, like 22 kids. Mhm. Well, Yeah, I thought it was much larger than that. Now we're at 22 pretty small. And so if you raise the six teachers $10,000 that would be $60,000. Divided by 22 would be $3000 a piece. That's the model he's talking about. Okay? And then you say, Oh, wait. We're gonna raise it $5000 because we have some kids. We want a scholarship. Right, And that's there are a few that are on a financial assistance will be a few more because you're bumping up from 20 to 25. Yeah, and you know, and you're going to raise your but that's an example of how you'd model the math out. Um, of how to play into it and decide from there. Um You probably and again the type of care and what you're plugged into. I don't know. I'm not an expert on that world just from a business viewpoint, though, uh, having run stuff with six people or 60 people having run stuff with now 1000 people on our team. Um, you will get some economies of scale. That will help your situation as well. If, for instance, you could double your enrollment and double your teaching staff. Yeah. Now you're not gonna do that in 20 minutes. But over time if you had 50 students instead of 25. Things are going to work a lot easier, because right now every single Check that is written by a student for tuition by a parent for tuition. Uh, is a back breaker. If it doesn't come in. You are because you're spread across so few people. And so your risk your volatility is a much higher on a percentage basis. Everyone is living more by the threat by a thread rather than there's no wiggle room, which, as you get a little bit more scale, you've got a little bit more marginal little bit more slash That you can do and still still be responsible with your salaries and with your other, but I think a combination between uh some students are going to get served by the higher tuition. With scholarships. Because we now have room to do that. Um, and some are going to get served with, um by lowering the net cost of the tuition by fundraising like Ken saying. But all the while keeping the fact that this mission is vital and really matters. And I think that's the whole thing you aim at. It is to go those directions. There's a lot going on here, but, um, it truly is more difficult to run a 22 person thing..

So that's important but yeah check it out. It's good shit. It's fucking hilarious. The ending is wonderful. I don i don't want to spoil it. God damn good. It's so good basically. Our brooks has a breakdown and the entire movie has been about him just like spiraling trying to make something like more cinematic and more contrived essential premise of just filming a family and the ending is is the also meant like the movie can't end any way other than the way those emotion and it's real hundred percent worth your. I check that shit out so we mentioned this. This is not the earliest grodin comedic role. If you go back you hit the rewind button and you go back to one thousand nine hundred seventy two so we're going back seven years grodin got a full head of hair beautiful head of hair and he does. A movie called the heartbreak kid directed by lane may and this is another one. That is incredibly difficult to get hold of and the reason is it was released on. Dvd number of years ago but most of the time like movies all the time that people lose track of the rights. they literally don't know who owns them and so labels are reluctant to put out a home media release. Because they're like well we think so and so owns it but we're not sure so which is not going to talk with it because we now. This one is odd because we know who owns the rights to the heartbreak kid. But it's not who you think it is so Heartbreak kid was produced by a small studio which was then or distribution which was then purchased by a pharmaceutical company. So a pharmaceutical company owns the heartbreak kid and they will not license it to anyone at all. They're just sitting on the r- they're like. Yeah oh man. This is a gold by just sitting on a grodin. Elaine may movie. That's what everybody's clamoring for this. A billion dollar asset that we have here they won't give it anyone so honestly the best way to wash the heartbreak. Kid right now is is. You can go to youtube and just type it in and it'll probably pop up but this is another one where despite the fact that it's a pain in the ass define equality cut of it online. Talk about a brilliant fuckin- comedy and you know not not to be confused with the ben stiller version. But mr coleman what is the assets of the heartbreak kid like a category a rundown this well kids you would say it's a story of schlep. Charles grodin very quickly in the first few seconds of the film meets a woman at a bar. They fall in love and get married very quickly. "Stuart. Last time you guys got to hang out in person was wins Been a while. Have not seen Marty ever actually, but I'm sure we're going to see what a treasure he is in country music. You just completely screwed up my entire story. Thanks a lot. Thanks. I gotta be honest. I'm still a journalist, All right, And if there's but there, but it is the true story. There's anybody And in Austin. Anybody in Texas that Mrs going out seeing live music? It is Mr Coleman. He loved to get out and see and see Live entertainment. True. That is for sure. This has been a gigantic test for me just to sit still for a minute, and I'm making it But it's been rough, especially when I lived. You know, a few just a few blocks from some of the best live music clubs in the country, you know? Yeah, but they're dormant. They're dark. It is. It's got to be painful. All right, Um, you wrote a piece about Senator Ted Cruz is called. Commentary in the San Antonio Express News went to the Houston Chronicle. Another papers in Texas. What has Senator Ted Cruz really done for Texans? All right. Give us give us the high points of of your commentary. Your opinion piece, Mr Coleman. You know, I think the answer to that question basically is not much. I think anybody who's followed Ted Cruz's career. On. I think an increasing number of Texans. Maybe even some Republicans are realizing that Ted Cruz is all about Ted Cruz. I did a review of his legislative record. He's been in Congress for eight years. Has two bills. One was a reauthorization of NASA, which is a pretty routine. Endeavor and they've got another bill passed. That was a It was a bill that would prevent any known terrorists from serving as ambassadors to the United States. So that was another slam dunk. But you know, he's not a he's not a legislator. He's not a conciliator. He doesn't seem to be much of a worker. You know, he's all about Ted Cruz. He's panderer of the highest order, and I think you know everything that unfolded prior tune around the January 6 riots in the capital really brought that into sharp relief, and we just thought it was Important Just kind of looking like, what is this guy doing? And that was basically you know, the premise of my article was that you know, we got hit. You know the right with the week I read the article. We it was announced it. 50 Texas hospitals were filled to capacity with Cove in patients. Um and, uh Something else again. I'm drawing a blank on that, but basically in what is Ted Cruz doing about? You know this lack of anything good happening in Texas. He got on Twitter and got into a juvenile spat with the actor Seth Rogan. You know, he took a picture of him praying pick photo of himself. Massless. You know what some of these National guardsmen who came to protect the capital and part from riot that you know from a riot that he helped inflame. S so basically, it's like, what are you doing, Senator Were you doing for Texas? And you know, as I looked into it more. I think that the obvious answer is not much. All right. I'm not sure if the audio is growing up here. I thought you said in eight years he's got two bills passed. That's correct. Yeah. On his any pictures on Twitter fight with Seth Rogan. Yeah. Yeah, And you know, I did a little comparison. I didn't put that in the article actually was just it was a little too far. A field guide to the comparison with John Cornyn, who's been in Congress for 20 years. Right, so basically a little bit more than twice as long he's had about 25 26 bills passed. I mean, I think if you do it's common apples to apples comparison from if you if you put the time in perspective, and Cruz just doesn't get much done. Nobody likes him in the Congress in the Senate, and you know it's unfortunate for Texas. I did include an article with my quote in my article from former House Speaker John Boehner, who everybody likes and he says, I love everybody. He's an amiable guy. Hey called Cruise. The most mental miserable son of a bitch you've ever worked with in his life s so it's telling with, you know, that is that is how he comes across. Now he beat A Democrat and man eventually ran for president from Texas by a skin. It was single digits right in the last election. Into our account Less than three blessed in 3% points and listen three Okay, closest race for against an incumbent senator in Texas since 1978 was that 18 2018. 2018 stories up again and 2024. Excuse me. He's up again in 2024 2024. If he doesn't run for president. Which I know he's really trying to position himself to do by appealing, you know to the maggot crowd and all that. You know, I don't know. I get this He may run. I mean, probably will run. I mean, he's that's his whole M o. His ambition right And what's next for me? What's the next rung up the ladder? But I tend to think of the moment he may have damaged himself so poorly, you know, so so seriously. With his actions around the presidential election and the insurrection and all that, that he may have a hard time attracting any of serious funding and really getting any kind of campaign off the ground, But we'll see. All right so Your assertion. Mr Coleman is that Ted Cruz is not all that popular anymore in Texas. He did get elected to be better or rock from El Paso. My bite. Not much is it was a close race. And, you know, I mean, it was a nail biter to really late at night. We thought some of the city's inner cities would come in. And Big Joe could catch him was ahead and then fell behind. We thought maybe you could come back and catch him. So what is I mean, he's hanging by a thread. According to You Know your article your your commentary, but Why? I mean, if he does nothing for Texas is that because he's Republican, and that's it. I think that's a big part of it, You know, and he really makes a big point of, um you know, being Obstinate and being a roadblock in front of anything Democrats like to do, and we have lots of it's a very deep red state. Lots of Republicans who You know, you know, look at the center like that, Who Who's really in sees his main job is to stop the Democrats from accomplishing anything. They like that. You know, I posted my article on Facebook page and I've got some conservative friends and friends of friends who China, and they're like, Hey, you know, we like him because he presents a liberal's. You know the tarts from doing With what the terrible things they want to do. Um, But, you know, in the Houston Chronicle's headline has You know what has tech crews done for Texas and the best? A lot of the people on Twitter could say, is like, what have you done for Texas? Houston Chronicle, So I don't think they really know what he's done for Texas. But they know that he's a pain in the Democrats side and I think that's enough for a love, So it's just tribalism. It's just he's one of our guys..

"Humbled in an improper way humbled the church in the face of the world humbled to church in the face of other religions Kind of fake humility jake. Hsen calls it the when a man's humble about his convictions. Let's that real humility. that's just that's being panty waste So all of those trends which were very much part of the so-called spirit of arrogant to Which are still very much with us. All of those trends contributed to the fact that the church bought by her churchmen stopped being that moral force that kind of held up its hand and said hey stop and there are concrete. Instances of this historically where this can be shown to have happened in this country. In the united states of america there was a thing called the catholic league of decency and it and the league of decency interested in film and the league of decency did a lot of good things by way of keeping hollywood executives from publishing what was called filth or smut in the films and and the legion decency was so powerful at one time that they could call on all catholics to boycott a particular theater or particular film or particular chain of theaters and they would literally bring hollywood executives to tears because they lost lots and lots of money over this so the bishops actually had moral authority. They used their moral authority. And they kept smut out of the films in the late sixties fifties. The hollywood was pushing the envelope. More and more resisting. This i think fifty seven was the first time an actual porn film made its way into mainstream theaters of remembering the year right. I won't even give the name of the film by the way it's famous but i think just naming it is disgusting But that was kind of a landmark year and of course in the in the sixties with the sexual revolution the church simply ceded ground. totally seated. ground I mean i shouldn't say totally on. There were notable exceptions but there was a large seating of ground in the church and the sexual revolution when it invaded the church. And you had notable catholics notable catholic clerics and so forth falling prey to it The exodus from the re- from the religious life and priesthood that that followed vatican tufo in sixty eight sixty nine and so forth. So i really think that there's a particular case in point. You can study the history of the catholic league of decency and how it fell into total oblivion. The church had a powerful voice against smut in in in that particular art form film and it was very effective and churchman ended up Completely ceding ground and not even caring anymore. That's right brother. I was actually going to make reference also to the motion picture. And as life has progressed, we decided last year to sell that vacation home. It was never used his rental property. It was just a family getaway. Um, currently, and for the last several years. My wife and I had been blessed beyond belief and are able to live on. Nickels and dimes pretty much And I've never been able to find an answer to how to calculate the capital gains on the sale of that vacation home or if capital gains will actually need to be paid. There will be when I brought Filed taxes. Check with your tax advisor. Check a taxi LP a day, Ramsey dot com But your basis is what you paid to build it. Plus what you paid for the land. And you because you know you're not appreciated it at all. No, sir. That's correct. But what I've seen is that capital gains taxes are zero up to a certain level of income for married couples filing jointly. And so I guess my question is does the sale and the proceeds of that vacation hold count as Income during that particular year that it was sold. I don't know. I'm not very good at taxes. I'm sorry, Billy. I think it does as far as I understand, but I want you. I really want to get some professional advice on this so you don't have investment income. Way do have retirement. We have retirement income, but we've not taken any proceeds from the retirement income yet, so none of it. None of it's taxable right now. No, any of my I raise and on that sort of thing I rolled over. Based on your advice. I rolled over my 401 K and the pension plan when I retired about 6.5 years ago, too. Our race, But we've been again fortunate that we've not had to take any procedure withdrawals from those retirement accounts. Um So my guess is it's going to be taxable at a capital gains rate. I do not know whether the incomes gonna count. I think it will count and we'll drive you up into that. And so you're probably gonna have a 15% capital gain on the Actual gain. What do you think you've got in the property? Well, we way actually sold it for 360,000. And as close as I could calculate our, um what we paid to have a home built and paid for the property is about 200,000. Okay, So you got 160,000. And the only question is how much is tax was gonna be on it or how much of it's gonna count towards this equation, you know? Yeah, I The truth is I You know, I know you don't. I know you have a game there. I don't know with you having virtually no income when you're gonna able to duck under the 15% or not, And that's a technical tactical question. And so I'm gonna have to say I'm I have to tell you to do what I would do, which is I would have to pick up the phone and call my here. My tax guy in my LP my endorsed local provider for taxes and get some help with that, And that's what I'm gonna have to have. You do. I'm sorry. I wish I knew the answer. But we didn't you need you do know how to calculate your game You've got that figured out and it's gonna be a 15% if there is a gain or nothing. If you're low enough, and it doesn't count And this doesn't drive you up above that limit, So I don't I don't know how. But I can't. I don't know how that works. Exactly. Sorry. Open phones. A triple 882552 to 5 Can I shouldn't have let you jump in. Because you really you're like a tax expert, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm a tax expert is that is that I like to not be taxed. And I think that I'm a tax expert in that. I don't believe we should be text very much at all. And, yeah, It's all about political opinion is where I stopped. I'm an expert on my opinion about what I think that, But hey, that's why we have the old piece. By the way. I think it's a great illustration to say even with you. It's complex of some of the stuff you got going on. We all need attack a tax expert. This is a weird talk show because you know how many talk show hosts that actually will tell you I don't know. That is true. That's unusually thin, broadcast unusual answer in talk radio because they want you know those of us on the microphone. I supposed to know something about everything. Alright, Suzanna. With us in Tampa, Florida. Hey, Susannah, how are you? Um, I guess I'm not doing as great as you are. You guys sound great, But I'm a little bit embarrassed and also distraught because my question is not as wonderful as all the other questions. You know, everyone's been very lucky. Okay. What's going on? You two co vid and due to being laid off from my job 11 months ago had to cash out my insurance policy..
