"Stick by that but in terms of the sell off again. I don't know why over the last couple of days markets choosing to acknowledge all these things in the form of yields a dollar rising market going lower. But it finally isn't it makes sense to me. Caryn not quite sure what to make of it. Because there's a lot of things that you can point to to me that seem to add a little bit of fuel to the fire so clearly rates. Then there's the question of is rates a function of the expectation of the konami getting better or just fear about inflation not being transitory and maybe this is getting away from the fed. That's one fear. That's not a good one. I think that warrants comment about powell being a dangerous man actually was not helpful to the market We don't really hear much about his response as much as you know. That's kind of a good sound bite for her So that wasn't a good thing I actually think. Also jeremy grantham Not a little. Mr sunshine there clearly. Pretty bearish. I think that was another leg lower. But i guess it's just all part of this this rotation and it makes sense to me out of the much higher multiple stocks and i differentiate between those the sort of the names which have super high multiples. You know the service now. Crowd strike and You know great companies but just really expensive multiples. And obviously i always think okay. When i own is more of more value in that it should have. It has a lower multiple. So i feel like it should have some protection but that didn't work today so you know alphabet. Facebook microsoft apple amazon. All of them down today. I'm not super worried about that. But i think we'll see the jobs number Thursday i guess it is is going to be pretty important to know. Does the fed have any room to hold back. I think they don't. I think they gotta get going. I think the second concern. Karen highlighted is is the most concerning at least from this observer standpoint on tape that the last time we saw rates move higher and we saw market reaction like this the backdrop of this. I don't think was real. Inflationary fears where inflation could be more than transitory. That's only sort of materialized. In the past couple months worsening the supply chain snags and things taking much longer to to work through the chain and here we are. So is this market reaction. Is this different this time around hate using that phrase but is it different this time because of the backdrop. Well i think it feels different. And i think anything. We were concerned about the economy opening and being so aggressive and we're throwing the stimulus bill and it infrastructure bill on top of it. I just i understand. Rates have moved twenty five basis points in three days. That's unsettling if you prorate that over the next three months but that's not what's gonna happen to me. I think there's a limit to how high rates can go. I think like. I think everybody on this panel. I do believe that there is more medium-term inflationary pressure not transitory labor service factors. That are not gonna leave us anytime soon. And i think the fed needs to acknowledge that at some point and maybe behind closed doors. They're going to start to in this next meeting. But i think the the the elizabeth warren comments on top of just some anxiety over where you have had some of the most important companies in the market and again we started talking about apple supply chain. We started talking about nike. Supply chain We've talked about autos we've talked about chips. That's the most important thing. I just think there's a limit to where we can go. I don't see liquidity wholesale being taken out of this market so tina is still alive and well the problem for today and why. It's great to have calm. Cool collected. Carter on shortly. Is you closed through the lows of last monday and tuesday. It's the lowest close since july. You have some technical damage. We haven't challenged one hundred day arguably really since back into last march certainly last september through november and and the dollar set you know fresh new highs closing up in back to where it was last november and does look poised move higher which will be difficult for guy said it value stocks especially energy transports. And i even think industrials look okay to me here and i think you stay there so when you see the zooms of the world the squares etc crushed in. Today's session dan going to be the trend is will that continue or are these opportunities. I don't think they're opportunities just yet. And you mentioned a square. This was an outperformer now. It's an underperformance. Only up eleven percent on the year. And i think if be look at some of the high valuation names already peaked out. A long time ago you mentioned zoom. I mean zoom topped out literally last fall here so the valuation for many investors who is becoming unpalatable relative to the expected deceleration in their growth post pandemic. And i think that's the realization. That's going on right now in the q. One of this year when rates were rising. I think the expectation very simply was that the pandemic in our rear view mirror. And maybe the fed had it right because that's why rates topped out in late march. Maybe they had it right about some of these price increases being transitory rates. Going higher right now is not actually saying that and therefore the celebration that we're seeing not just in earnings not just possibly peak margins but the deceleration in the economy specifically q. Three gdp started the quarter. I think most estimates were above eight percent. Now we're looking like three percent that seems to be a little bit of a problem when you have rising rates now and the valuations that we do and i'll just say this from a technical standpoint. There are some of the major market leaders who have finally broken the transit of in place for about a year so microsoft alphabet. Take a look at that. Facebook had already broken. I think on fundamental reasons so now the fevers kind of breaking in some of the mega cap names and we talked about this last night. I am not sure rotation into financials because that interest margins are going to be higher or energy because we have some supply demand dynamics that seemed to be off. Putting here is gonna keep this market afloat. So i think the likelihood of a re-test of that forty one hundred ish. Two hundred day moving average has to be five hundred. Seems more likely than not at this point. Die a year with dan on this. I mean we did see a relative outperformance of banks in today's session as measured by the khairi bank t.f. Yeah im with. Dan and the point the point that i take away and i think the point that he made is the fact that these names can do. Well they can rally. But it's they're not going to be supportive of the broader market. They just don't have that they don't have the size and scope to do that. Obviously the names talk about all the time did but these names don't so although i think banks resources energy can do well. They're not going to be supportive of the s&p five hundred and dan brought up. Forty one hundred. I'm sure carter will mention that as well. That sort of winds up with the tuner day moving average which we haven't seen probably in over fifteen or sixteen months so it all makes it all makes sense to me again..

But I think what happens is that you have a small cadre of people who begin chanting off phrase. It could have been anything. They could have been talking about cheese ways. They could have been talking about anything out there that they find upsetting. And then it slowly grows. Because according to the numbers, Billy, you know something about 50% of people. Didn't vote for Joe Biden. Right? So there's enough people out there to have it become a social contender and spread out and that's why it has happened again. I'm going to ask you. How exactly does it start at all these different football games this week? You don't sort of see a plan here. Oh, you think this is organic? Very good, Mr Sunshine. No, I don't think it is in the same way that when, um So you ever you ever hear about this, Billy? They're right that people want to join. There's enough people who were upset with him. "Sorry for everybody who had to deal with that last week but it was. It was a lot of fun and it's just great to be back here. We're gonna have a couple of people sitting in the guest chair who can really speak to how how special it is to have fans back in saratoga and have a sense of normalcy. Back here but shifting a little bit we also had a big date arlington and unfortunately the last big day at arlington and we have some opinions about the way people were treated on the way out the door at arlington. But first let's let's break down the the actual results of the day. You had the huge upset in the arlington million. It's hard for me to call it. The mr stakes. I still call it. The million the arlington six hundred thousand build. Bill chooses to feed negative terms but learn from the best. John dream mr sunshine in the middle but now that was that was that was a cool result to ami's again could have never had that horse in a million years. I wouldn't bet that horse monopoly. Money as my friends like to say Thirty six to one but again aggressive writing is is rewarded. James graham took that horse of the front race with no speed and held off domestic spending. I think was kind of up against with that pace. I think didn't disgrace himself running second but it was. It was local connections robertson. These i think the horse was a forty five hundred dollar purchase which is absolutely incredible And is i wanted to mention from. There was santa barbara in the beverly. She was incredibly impressive to the point. Where i almost forgot that she was a three year old going against elders you. I forgot that she won. The belmont oaks just a month or two ago because she'd dominated those older fillies and mares and she was loaded on the turn if you wanna if you wanna look if you want an example of a horse who was just dying to be loose. We'll watch santa barbara and the parts of the beverley d. And once she got nuclear at the top of the stretch was over for the rest of that me marianne okay to be second after breaking through the gate to start but those two really impressive performances santa barbara. It'll be interesting to see what she does going forward john. You mentioned the other day that they might keep some horses. In america to run at kentucky downs will again. It's a situation where the o'brien's are coming in and stealing everybody's lunch. And this is santa barbara just the most recent example of that. And it's interesting because the o'brien's everyone kind of cobbled together. But it's eight in the father. Who is a legend in unto itself and then joseph donnas sons are winning races all over place and last week joseph You know one the big turf race here. The million is here So it it's a matter of just them coming in bringing their top shelf forces. I think bill said that a couple of weeks ago. About how in the past the the the o'brien and other euros were coming over with kind of the b. team and faring. Okay but now. The gloves are off. They're bringing their top shelf versus. I think it's primarily to run in the turf races now in the late summer early..

We're going to join our friends with white lightning caulking and talk about The importance of using clocking and not around the bathtub. Well, it's important there, too. Hey, Couple quick questions for you. First off. I am looking at replacing and exterior man door on my house garage, Okay? And I wanted to get your opinion on steel versus fiberglass. Well, Um, If you were telling me the front door, I would tell you fiberglass. If you're telling me side door the right in the west side of my house, right? So You know, steals normally going to be a little less expensive. So you know, I got a fiberglass store on my entry door and a steel door on the man door next to the garage store. Okay now, and I've been reading some different things online. Now I'm finding out what the steel of course with the heat and cold from Ohio. Here. You get a lot of expansion and contraction with the steel where you don't get that with the fiberglass. There is some. Yes. In fact, the steel door that I have on the site is actually a westerly facing. So what I got is I got a urethane filled Steel door. Um, would your thing filled door? Um I have never really had any. Alright. America can't say never. I've had maybe a little rubbing on the door and the frame one year, but I've never had any trouble locking the door. Okay, So then I guess the other thing is the warranty warranty on a steel door. They tell me is about 10 years or the fiberglass. It's basically a lifetime now. But then I've had somebody tell me that on the fiberglass, you can get some Fading in some shocking or kind of deteriorates over a period of time. I mean, so my fiberglass door is 22 years old. And fiberglass is going to require more maintenance than that steel door will ever require. Because that finish Is, you know it's sustained and then there's a clear finish. And we all know what clear finishes in Mr Sunshine. Do you know you're going to have to reapply the clear finish periodically what I did after about year 17 as I painted my fiberglass store. And its be okay. It is beautiful, So I mean, if you wanted to do that, that's that's fine. I always kind of look at a fiberglass store is more of a real step up from the standpoint of curb appeal. Um, And if you don't have a curb for curb appeal, I just, you know, I mean, you can go either way. I mean fiberglass door. You'll never find me knock of fiberglass store. They're beautiful. They're absolutely beautiful. And, you know, actually, the other thing. I'm finding out what that is. You know, you mentioned something about the cost. But I'm finding the cost on these two doors. I'm looking at relatively about the same. They're about the same. I'd probably do a fiberglass store. Okay. You know, there's probably $1000 difference on the decision that I made back then on a fiberglass store versus a steel door, but yeah, if they're about the same I'd put a fiberglass door inner Okay. I appreciate that part. And one other quick one here for you. I've got a gutter on the end cap where I've got a little bit of leakage, but I'm not able to get the gutter down. I don't really want to pull all this. Nails out and all to get the gutter down to replace that whole end cap. Is there a product that I could use on the inside of that end cap to seal that up? Sure, sure. Um, so there's a couple of them, actually. So the biggest thing like always preparation is the key. Got to get a good and clean and caulking. Yeah, there's silicone caulking and your think talking's you can use but really what I like. There's a product that's made by, uh Gardner. Same people that do the drug Max 1000. They make a protocol leak stopper. It comes in a court can It also comes in a spray Can I believe, and I used the court can use a brush and just coat that whole seem vertically horizontally, and it's it's it's in the last American coating, so it stays flexible. And mannitol. Seal it up. It's good stuff. And you know if you can't find a leak stopper, there's another one called Geo Sil. Uh and it's g E O. C e l That is a tri polymer coating. You know for a job that they had are jobs and what it did notice that they left poured the concrete around the whole block, but left a 30 ft opening or access to the backyard until the construction was completed. Then they poured that concrete. In the springtime, no freezing or anything of that nature and then with a matter of months that concrete had falling on it, so it can't be the freeze cycle, But it was Because I called the Portland Cement company about it. They said that that was probably raised too fast, and I noted that it was poured in the late afternoon. And by the time they were finishing up, it was quitting time and they were rushing to get that thing smooth looking nice, So they raised up the concrete itself to cement in the in the mix, and it was more a layer of water and cement. That's what I was telling that other fella and it's called cream,.

"Of dollars of really screw those hedge fund guys. Um people don't realize that they really pay very close attention to Robin Hood and what it is. The Wall Street Journal says that angry Robin Hood traders take aim at the wrong Robin Hood. What won't actually I keep pretty cute story. There's something called the World Wide Robin Hood Society. It consists of 10 people, John 10. People make up the worldwide robin of society. They do have about 350 followers on there a Twitter account and thanks to this skirt, sort of screw up. They now have 62,000 followers, and they were getting a lot of these really angry tweets at them because the reason people are still mad at Robin. It's because Robin decided we're going to stop allowing you to buy up more Gamestop stuff. This is ridiculous. And so there was a lot of angry populist fervor against Robin and when they contact the worldwide robin in society, they say. Hey, I think you got the wrong people. But have you ever thought about Sherwood Forest much You know we'd love to have you join in the sale of these people were charmed by this thing. The guy who runs into 77 year old author, an amateur historian, and they are sort of cashing in on all the all the sort of miss taken efforts at getting mad at the other Robin Hood company. There is a non profit called the Robin Hood or Robin Hood, and it's out of New York, and they help with a variety of causes. Four families that are in poverty and all sorts of economic struggles they have seen about a 600% increase in donations have written God or lied and then, like, Oh, I've never heard of you before. So, the president of the Robin Hood nonprofit said. Actually, this is really turned out. Great for us. We have new donors. People sending $20 or $50 were just sending us nice note saying, Hey, with all the horrible stuff going on, It's nice that you guys have been there. They've been there for a long time there a small, unknown non profit and they think I said, This is just been a godsend for us so and then he got the chance to talk more about the Robin Hood society and what they do. And how they help families and good for them. They made some money out of all this so great. What one last little jokes. So you remember the four seasons? Total landscaping, eh? Fiasco when Rudy Giuliani set up a press conference, and he thought he was booking the four Seasons hotel in it was just the four seasons total landscaping so another, in other words, another a mistake they tweeted out to to this Robin Hood society. He sees the positive and everything. I envy him. Somehow. It's a lovely way to be it is. I wish I had it done. I'm working on it. You know, as a Christian, I'm that's I'm trying to Not worry about things and lament and see the goodness and things and all of that. But you know, I'm a human being. So be it, You know, So I'm talking to him about this and his kids who are ah, little little younger than mine. But around the same age And even Mr Sunshine. Confessed last night that his kids Battling with this Because it's just Something you can't avoid. You can't ignore. When you extract people, particularly young people. From their lives from their existences. From their traditional learning by environments as they understand it now again, I don't Please don't misunderstand. I know I'm going to get emails and stuff from people that say I've been homeschooling ever since they were. I'm not talking about you if you've been doing it differently all along. I'm talking about those of us who have been raising our kids in the public education system and doing it happily and successfully and are pleased with it. This has been a very violent shift. And you know, for those of us that aren't going to work. Now you're trying to figure out how to do this. Help them on computer terminals. And yes what kids don't learn Well that way. They A lot of kids don't like that. They don't. It's just not the way they're wired, and they missed the socialization. They hate the masks as much as you and I do. And This is just it's every now and again just to kind of a human. I feel it incumbent upon me, I guess to just kind of do a human check in with you and say I get it. And If you think you're the only one who feels that way, and you feel like you're the only person in your neighborhood or your circle of friends or your existence who's battling I'm most assuredly guarantee you. You're not This has just been the most excruciating slogs as a parent and I wondered to myself all the time. I think, how could I do it better? How could we do it better are we I seriously I know it's virus. I literally no, it's the virus. It's not us, but I often think to myself Is this a period in our lives that we will look back on? And think. Well, we've We've robbed our kids of something, and we e mean the word abuse is too strong a word, but I often think if we Are we doing some kind of damage to the kids, unknowingly that we we could have avoided. Now, as a parent, I'll just tell you that's just unauthorized feeling when you're sitting idly by every day wondering, Are you damaging your kids? And you don't? You're not. You're like willfully complicity in School, screwing them up and you're not really sure how to fix it. You know, that's a tough feeling. So I'm just saying, I know that there are a lot of you feeling that way. Out there, and I think they're a lot of people, particularly on social media that are trying to put best face forward and act like these are the best times of their lives, and they've never been closer and little Tommy's playing soccer and We're doing arts and crafts and everything. No, it's largely all phony, much like the Biden presidency. This is this is unnecessary. It's punitive. It's costly. It's emotionally draining. It's destructive. Um a lot of houses of worship are still shut down, and it is it is stripping people of their spiritually lives and that is wrong. And the toll. This is taking that just on Children, but on On people, spiritually health and their mental health and I got a story in front of me from yesterday. Has your alcohol consumption increased during the pandemic? I I thank God that I was able to knock off booze with his help. I'm not judging you. If, in fact you find yourself I would just say to you what I've got you that. You know, if you find yourself struggling with that right now, I get it. I know why. And Lord knows if this had happened a couple of years ago. Uh, I'd probably be crawling out from under a massive hangover right now trying to do this show. So I just every now and again I feel it incumbent upon myself to check in with you to say. Get it. I know exactly how you're feeling. On. I hope. I hope nobody out there feels like they're battling it alone because you're you're not. It's unconscionable what our elected leaders are allowing to continue to happen. I'm also aware that a number of you feel very alone. That's something else. I consistently here for Those of you know, that's one thing that I don't battle.
