Whatever's more profitable meant that it was kind of a landslide victory for people who wanted to keep Bitcoin as a user controlled and earned currency and The fact that that worked was Extremely positive. So as Giacomo said that No, people were nervous before but when it was a victory and it was a genuine grassroots victory Which showed that the developers had essentially no control but large companies had no control and the miners had no control So it's basically a perfect storm and Bitcoin came out the other side it completely unscathed. So people view that as a Sort of long-term store-of-value capability of Bitcoin because basically all the forces that could be Potentially aligned against the users interest to keep Bitcoin permissionless and decentralized Tried the tried their best to coordinate and completely failed in the market So I think that was instructive to everybody because people were kind of nervous or unsure at different levels of understanding about the game theory But it turns out that basically it's not possible to change Bitcoin If you have your own private keys and you wouldn't accept the transaction that's not verified by your full node Then other people out in the world can do whatever they want. They can mine other things they can make arguments They can change your software their exchange runs But ultimately you're still gonna have Bitcoin and nobody nobody external to you can change that fact So that that fact was not understood And I think that's also very positive since then that there's been a lot of interest in adopting full nodes So I look I think Adam back perfectly described You know the four cores and the significance of the four cores what happened during the four cores? And yeah, it's a testament to what makes Bitcoin unique, right? You had the largest the largest minor bit main try to team up with some of the largest companies and they were trying to change for bigger blocks and that would have Centralized the network in the process because bigger blocks means more resource requirements in order to run a node more resource requirements to run a node meaning less people can run a node because it Becomes economically and feasible for a lot of people right, you know, the block size are the way they are by design It's a feature not a bug Decentralization above all and the four cores, you know, not only did it not kill Bitcoin it made Bitcoin stronger, right? And so that happened that wasn't 20 toes 2017 2018 if my memory serves me correctly and Those are some scary times. I remember that they artificially made the Bitcoin cash hash rate surpass bitcoins hash rate for I think two or three times Depending on the you know hash rate hash rate metric that you're using but a couple years after that we had the China ban during the 2021 bull market and You know both those things both those events were attacks on Bitcoin make no mistake and what inevitably What what was the inevitable? Outcome of both those things Inevitable in hindsight, but when you're living through it, it's actually pretty freakin scary Because you don't know it's never happened before in a historical context But the the outcome of that was what doesn't kill the honey badger makes it stronger, right the hash rate decentralized in the process It proved that it's not the miners who own the network or run the network They're just paid security guards who's really running the network are the nodes, right? This is why it's so important run your own node If you don't want to build one, you could buy a pre-built one start 9 is dope Nautil is dope. There's so many, you know, there's so many companies You can you can check out if you want a pre-built node or you could just build one yourself And when I say no, you could run you can run Bitcoin core on an old computer that you're not using, right? It doesn't you don't have to have a dedicated device. That's always on right? Even though that would be the ideal case. So, you know like It's it's a it's a hurdle that everyone I think should do but hey if your family doesn't feel Technical be their uncle Jim so they can verify off your own node Like there's a lot of things to continue to decentralize the network and I came after the Segwit 2x battle I came in like a month after this so I I came in once the dust settled and it was so unnerving at the time I'm like wait, which one is the real Bitcoin? We will ship them again for Bitcoin but Yeah, a lot of businesses last year But that was also because the natural gas prices exploded in Europe and now they have normalized again so heating with miners is again not as Profitable as it was last year and the nice thing is now it's slowly shifting towards load balancing and spare capacity mining because there was such as Huge solar expansion here that we have a lot of moments where you get paid to use electricity and also that we have problems with the net so Basically the transformers going down and then we can use some miners to keep the grid balanced and also use some excess Electricity and we do that with the old machine. So as you can see here the s9s we just refurbish them a bit or make them silent where people want to put them and then throw them in and It's just yeah, basically up on Electricity that you're either paid for or you need the heat or these kind of things. It has Oracle has IBM, right has Google Apple Microsoft meta also known as Facebook Netflix Amazon and even they even puts Bitcoin on there and apparently micro strategies stock has has Gone up two hundred and fifty four percent Bitcoin has only gone 145 percent SMP has only gone up 37 percent The Nasdaq has only gone up 31 percent point is is that I think he's making the case that his Bitcoin strategy Even though it's very bold Definitely very aggressive It was definitely a risk at the time he was doing it Especially from his perspective. Obviously, it's not for us for you know for us mere mortals It's the only alternative was Bitcoin but from someone in his position, you know, definitely I would definitely consider it a risk But it's definitely paying off and I think it's gonna continue to pay off as time Progresses and I think that will be a forcing function for other public companies.
