"I'll get that in the morning. First marriage was in 1947 last 50 years, and then I believe I think she passed away and then get married again. But that's a long summer, Redstone was around. Yeah, it was an icon, an absolute icon of the entertainment industry and And change that, you know, you think when you stop and you think about how your life has changed. From the time you were a kid, too now in terms of entertainment and go into movies, and what that experience is like, or what's happening on your phone. There are people who are responsible for that. That didn't just happen organically. There were visionaries who did that, and Sumner Redstone was one of them. That changed the way that we the multiplex. Somebody would have probably come up with it if it weren't him, But I mean, it's a pretty good idea, and it worked out change the world. And the CBS Viacom thing. Well, I had a lot of people that would argue in the industry that maybe that wasn't the best merger of all times. But it was also one of those mergers that got the Department of Justice. So look at the merge is in a way. What are we doing? Jol's buying Who Viacom's doing? What? There's a lot going on there. Yes, there was right coming up. Never heard of that word is this will be great, good stuff there, and I should mention the good place and Shits Creek. Those were the final seasons for those two people haven't had a chance to see those each one. I think only had about a three or four season run both really funny, Innovative. Feel good, eventually 23 minute kind of typical, but not, you know, Modern day sitcom begins to avenge them because, yes, you can. I like to make traditions Just write off the time Batman DeLorean. Well, it's interesting because I mean, that's a big that's a star Wars in between the time line kind of thing, and it did very well. People were kind of surprised that it got like serious nominations, not just special effects. I think, baby Yoda is up in seven categories. Just why I'm going to say it's gonna win because people fell in love with Baby Yoda and they all now we all want to know that's really Yoda or some other Yoda's grandson or Yoda's. Grandfather. As he joins us on most doors is joining the six o'clock hour here an hour early, because in this six block our we'll hear from not only Mr Tom Skilling, but we were. We will also have our personal Blackhawk on nice. Connor Murphy is going to be with us. Finally because you know that we've been waiting to talk to him. But then he disappeared. And now he's back. He had a groin and he's been having a grind, and I just want to make sure that he's okay. Course I wanna dig groin, his growing. Oh, my goodness. Well, the great thing about Connor Murphy is you know the name works both ways in Chicago. He could be Murphy Connor. Connor Murphy. He be elected judge. You know, 75% of the vote is drew. And he could actually be appointed judge by like any burke or something before he goes, you know, into retirement too soon. No. Okay. Ah, let's just do this. First. We have a couple of things that we need. Teo, get through here. In the five o'clock hour and let me just hold on. Just don't any. I'm having a little bit of Ah, I just had to get off the phone very quickly. There was I should. I'll just share this. There's been a gas leak at and no in my home. Well, I'm not there. So, so we're endeavoring to get some answers and to see what you think. Okay, I think I think it's OK. I told me not to let a cigarette right now. I guess that's going. That may be a good idea. So we're having. Ah Get. Apparently, they've just dug a hole. The fine folks of peoples gas. The people are there and they have just Ah dug a hole into my into my garage. And I don't know means so. Believe the guy heading that cruise Murphy Connor. So you're in good hands, you'll be okay. Good man. He's got a job for 25 years. Ok, well, thank God. All right. Thank God. Okay. Ah, let's let's talk about. You know what we're going to dispense with all of the politicians for today because we've already covered whatever was happening and not happening because it turns out in Washington, with the exception of president who just gave a quick briefing about Corona virus. And then, of course, I remember Herman Cain, who had been when you and I were doing a show that other station Herman Cain ones was on our show a number of times. Yes. Should we should mention that and we should remember him. He was always an amazingly good sport about things. Remember, he was a guy running for president, Republican ticket. On the 999 whenever that was policy, write that and I can't remember the three nines stood for, but all I know is that the guy was very always gregarious, always interesting, and it was just trying to make a point. I think more than I think that's absolutely right. And you're right. He was always a gentleman with us, and we would have some fun with him and he would you know he knew it. He was in on some of that humor as well. So it's It's terrible to know it is terrible. And you know, they showed him when? At the Tulsa rally, you know, there was the pictures of him from that night. They know. You know, Herman Cain was here amongst others, You know, not wearing mask or whatever, and we'll never know exactly where he got it. But I'm sure that didn't help and his now you know, when he went into the hospital, they said, Well, you've gotten in and he was fine. And it's one of those cases that you kind of hear prototypical E now. Fine. I'm not feeling that bad at all. Then you start to feel bad start to feel better than you feel so bad that you end up in the hospital. It's kind of over a 10 day Ark. And then he just was and then it starts to cycle. And its enemy was in his what was in his seventies right early seventies and believe yes, and so He But you and I know people. Well, you know, it's older people or whatever. And and what I love is when it's older people saying that well, it's only older people that are dying. We'll hold you. I'm 75. Exactly be careful. Yeah, so I just I want to remember him and very fondly. We didn't. I didn't really understand His economic plan I didn't really understand is Candidacy that well, but he was an interesting fellow, and then he was one of the first guys to get me tude basically out of the campaign. As you recall, there was a woman who came forward and said that she had Had an inappropriate meeting with like a lunch meeting with him, and he had said some inappropriate things to She got very, very match. Chicago based one member of that woman who had been had her on to Yes, we did have her on And I just seem to remember that in the aftermath of all that there were lawyers. That's the last part of that whole story that I recall, and I'm very proud to say that I Very rarely had legal problems on this radio programme over the last three decades that we've been doing it and that was one of them. So we cash all right, anyway. Mr Richard Roper. Let's talk about the that they were going to have an M E is this year, But it's going to virtual. They just announced the nominations and I'll tell you what is absolutely fascinating is that you don't see a whole lot of the big three networks involved in the Emmys. Here is a matter of fact for best comedy..

"Mr Richard Roper is joining us on the super celebrity zoom. It would be the super celebrity zoom Everybody has done is eat everything. Now. I don't know why I was talking about a couple things that people should be looking at this weekend. And then we'll get to some pretty wild stories out of Hollywood this week that I think Missed our attention. Show Big showbiz kids on HBO. Yes, Showbiz kids playing now on HBO, basic, HBO, not HBO, Max that HBO to the extreme. But if you have the HBO, you get all the streaming platforms. This is really interesting. Rohit's a documentary about Actors who started off as a child stars and we've seen a lot of stories about this before. But what I like about this documentary is it really provides a lot of context and inside. It's actually directed by Alex Winter, who's in the bill and Ted movies with K and a Reeves but also has become a quite accomplished documentary director over the years. And he got everybody from Henry Thomas, who played Elliott in E T. To Evan Rachel Wood, Mila Jovovich, Todd Bridges to talk about their experiences and also broken. I have to ask you a question. What? Yes. Do you remember that? I wouldn't see you necessarily would remember. But have you ever heard of the child store child star named Baby? Peggy, Baby Peggy, I can't say that I have I hadn't either. It turns out God bless er they interviewed her. She was 101 years old. She passed away shortly after the making of this film. But in 1920 baby Peggy was the biggest star in Hollywood before Shirley Temple. Before any of them and signed a contract for the equivalent in today's dollars of $22 million a year when she was 40 my God! And by the time she was seven, she was washed up because her dad, who was her manager, held out for more money, and they said, You know, we can find other kids so she then had 94 more years to live and did different things in life and was, you know had her own successes in her own right, But it's fascinating to hear from baby Peggy. At the age of 101 Looking back, so basically for 100 years, Plus, we have had child stars, and she talks about the fact that even then she didn't have a normal childhood. She never felt like she could have a chance to be a kid. And that's the cautionary tale of this documentary. Well, That story now. Rings a bell for may be about her dad. It's one of the first Overplays of like a parent like a A parent manager type that was trying to run family member manager type that was trying to run the business and then it went very, very badly because I think it's that they actually use that as a business school. Now study. And now now I think now it's totally making sense to me. That is amazing. $22 million.20 millions with you might remember some of her hits her circus man on with the show that employ mates all in the early twenties, and then it was all over all of a sudden, And then there was nothing. But, yeah, I mean, it is a cautionary tale, and then you know, you hear from people like Will we eaten? Who, of course, was in stand by me, and he's done very well as an adult. He was in one of the Star Trek reboot and has become this huge social media presence. But he talks about how his mother was his manager, which is never a good idea and how he frittered away all the goodwill he had from stand by me, which, by the way, you think about it. The cast there, of course, Jerry O'Connell, who was going on to do all kinds of different things. And then, of course, River. Phoenix, who, you know, died of a drug overdose in front of the Viper Room when he was hostility. Teenager And will weaken. So a lot of the actors who were in that have had different stories. But with Wil Wheaton's case, he's like, Yeah, I wish I had never done it. Quite frankly, I wish I had a normal childhood. He wishes it never done stand by me. Well, he wishes he had never had the full career. He loves the fact that he did stand by me and it's such an iconic film. But shortly after that, his mom said, We're going to Europe. You're going to star in a horror film in the trailer for it was you stood by him before. But will he stand tall Now? Will Wheaton from Stand by me is in bloody corpse. Nine. Wow went from there. And also the actresses. It's really interesting to hear from Evan, Rachel Wood, Mila Jovovich and others who were sexualized when they were so young and, you know, turned into these sex symbols, You know, Remember Brooks deal with the Blue Lagoon? A lot of things that would never happen in today's atmosphere and good. It's good that they wouldn't Yeah. Wow. Alright, Showbiz kids, That's an HBO You don't need to have anything other than basic, good old HBO. You don't have to have fancy HBO. That's correct, but I assume that you'll be able to see in a fancy HBO and has been a good old HBO. The whole damn thing is just too confusing way too confusing. But if you have the HBO workers died at added did that it dead. Remember that theme back in the day? That's the Reds where you can find all right. So regular HBO show biz kids. That's out now. You can. You can start when it was that running at a specific time. Many, many times over the next month. OK, available. All right, just I guess I guess we have to put it into our DVR. They're so again, too Damn, confusing too many things. I will come back. We'll talk about fatal affair and then some stories that are very interesting out of Hollywood this week as well. Richard Roper is here. We'll be right back with him. But first, here's Lauren lack a last look. At the skies and road..

"Actually, I've got a couple feel good pieces of audio from the week. And I'd like to play for you here as we enter into a very hot weekend. Very human. In the middle of summer. Would we expect anything other than that in the middle of July? Thank God we've got it. It's not a normal summer, but we're gonna try to make it as normal as possible. Let's try this first. Billy Joel Billy Joel, who we eyes kind of stepped off of the touring world memory had that residency and medicine Square garden. We'd play like the last week of every month at Madison Square Garden. Will that That's on hold. Everything's on hold. He looks out on Long Island. We know that because everyone Somali crashes his car into his own porch. He was seen in Long Island. Going up to a discarded piano. Somebody was cleaning out a house, the people we're moving out of house, and there was a discarded piano on the Lary on the front law off this out. And Billy Joel, Billy Joel. Goes up and starts playing it. Luckily, there was somebody there with a camera. Good. Just needs tuning the finishes. It's a perfectly good shame to throw it out. ST Paul is something right? They probably take it. This is what life was like, in the 17 hundreds. You just walking down the street, and that would be, you know. Mozart would just be playing a piano. And people would just talk to him. See how everything is kind of broken down, and this is a positive way. You walk up and all of a sudden, there's a five time Grammy Award winning international pop star just playing a thrown out piano on the street only in the covert world. Did you find that? That song, by the way, was Shelton Brooks. 1917. Ragtime ROLE, Dark Town structures Ball. Just want to make sure that everybody knows Chris Evans. Now again. We do get confused on this program between Chris Evans, Chris Pine Chris Hemsworth. And there's another Christian. Who's we? Because I don't I do. We do. Mr Richard Roper does well, we want to interview the wrong, Chris. But He has done something really cool to see the story about this kid. There was a A six year old Boy who saved his four year old sister from a dog attack. There was a German shepherd lunging at his sister, and he stepped in the way and got bitten in his face, and there was a five hour surgery and Dozens and dozens and dozens of stitches, and it made some news over the last week. And what did Chris Evans who was Captain America, right? That's that's Chris Evans. Yes, Okay, I'm glad you know she's she's our marvel Editor. Laurin Lavaca is Chris Evans made a video To celebrate this young six year old Papers. Captain. Marriage. Don't So,.

"And like the whole eighties five. What's happening here? All right. We get Mr Richard Roper joining us right now. And I'm sorry. Control room. Tell me Work's coming up. Is he coming up? Right? Richard E there. Where you Richard? Where is Where is Richard? We didn't We didn't properly plan this at this very particular moment. I want everybody just to come and relax. We Ah! Classic technical difficulties. Any technical difficulties just it's a Ah, It's a bad moment of planning, I think is what we just realised. Richard, can you hear us and I can hear you? Can you hear me? Yes, we can hear you. As I was just jamming toe Hungry Eyes by Eric Carmen. 1987 hit featured in the hit movie, Dirty Dancing. Thank you. That's what I helped me out there with your little intro music. Yeah, Yeah, No. We had a They've added a few buttons here and and that's and that's exactly what just occurred. You know, I've noticed that in the world of communications, we all started out just with our walkie talkies standing on rooftops waving to each other across the corona, you know, trying to communicate, and then it got pretty good. And then we all got cocky and try to make it too good. And we all saw what happened with Apollo 13 when they try to get to sophisticated, right? Yeah, don't get fancy. Okay, Let's talk about things this weekend that people can go to see or watch at home, and we did mention this earlier and I'm very happy to be able to promote this. That zanies in Chicago is opening. Is opening tonight. They've got. They've got a show tonight at nine o'clock, and then they've got two shows tomorrow night. Really? That's amazing, But, you know, I'm sure a lot of comics will tell you about playing in front of rooms where it looked like people were social distancing when they were coming up in their careers. Right, So it's a challenge. I think a good standup can actually handle and you know And God bless him for doing that. That's very cool. I should also mention role in that same vein, the famed music box theater, of course, up near there. Wrigley Field, Southport on Southport. They are open. They're showing a first run movie this week, and it's a horror movie called Relic. And it is actually going to be playing at the music box theater. And of course, they're observing all the great social distancing. People have been to the music box. They know they have that great, huge theatre, but we're only gonna have limited seating. They're limited seating on their patio because they have a neat little bar where you can go in and get a drink. Bring your drink into the theater. And we might as well mention we hadn't talked about relic yesterday. This is one of those slow burn very creepy horror movies where you've got three generations a grandmother, a mother and a grown daughter at the obligatory home in the country and around was kind of losing. It was kind of losing it and then she's really losing it. And she's carving candles with a big knife, and it seems like a strange hobby for Grandma have And then you start to see the black mold creeping up. The walls are not going to say any more. But it's really, really good and you can actually catch that on demand. They're calling it now Virtual cinema row, which means you could just not. It's not a 1,000,000 different platforms. What's easier than saying on Amazon prime on this on that it's just virtual cinema, which means you can get it on demand at home. But for Chicago area residents, If you want to go to the movies, you can see a first run horror film. That really plays well with an audience. I would imagine. I watch by myself, and I kept the lights on the last two nights. Just in case Is there mold molding him? Honey, Do you smell that? You know when Grandma goes missing and she comes back two days later, and she's got a motto around her feet. She's just doing the dishes saying, What's wrong with everybody? Why you all looking at me? There's proper 00 yeah, yeah, yeah, Cruz be out already, And there's a nice bar. At the music box. We should respect. Yeah, very nice bar that you get nice cans of classic beers and I possess all their little glass of wine, and the staff I know has been one of the great That's one of the great theaters. In all of the world. In fact, when Wonder Woman 1984 announced that they were pushing back there, released eight they They put up a graphic of four different theaters across the world and said coming soon and one of them was the music box in Chicago. Really? Yeah, so I didn't realize that they had even gone back to first runs there. So that I think I could be wrong. You know, they've been showing some some other films. They might have had Ah foreign film or Doc that was also 1st 1 But I know for a fact that relic is coming to theaters, some women to theaters and then on demand on the same day today, all right. Okay, so if you want to freak yourself out And make Grandma an enemy. Then relic is the movie for you and you watch it on a virtual cinema. So when you say virtual cinema does that mean that I just look up the name on the Google and it tells me where I'm actually going to be finding it because there's a difference between video on demand, and then you're over the top services. So your apple TV Plus does he? Plus, you know all the rest of this stuff? Where When and that's then those are two different kinds of things. Because video on demand you get from your cable provider. Whatever and you, then you pay the 20 bucks or whatever to watch the movie. Exactly rowing. You know, it has become so complicated and the and the streaming platforms and the studios they know that they're trying to make it easier. What we're having here is you have certain movies that were destined originally to be Netflix releases. They're still going to be on Netflix or who are Apple TV, plus the big players, Right or Disney. Plus now But you have these other movies that were going to be in theatre, so they're striking deals as they go along like a. We've got the king of Staten Island. Let's make a deal with various platforms. So the neat thing is that competing platforms are showing some of these movies, you know, and yes, you're gonna have to pay for almost all of these first run movies. Now, if you got, for example. If you do have Netflix, this will be our Segway. You can see the old guard, which is opening today on Lee on Netflix. That's Charlie's there in action movie that were opened on 2500 screens at least row, but it's going to be a it's a Netflix original Soto on ly be available if you have Netflix If you want to see the old guard with Charlie staring, that's a time traveling mercenary warrior film. You know, she's got she's become. I think the number one action star in the world Mad Max Fury Road and Flux, Atomic Blonde. And now the old guard, Charlie staring. You could have Jason State them. I'll give Wayne Johnson but Vin Diesel in the corner. I'll take Charlie staring, baby..

You've got to talk to him. All right. So here is you got to play with him, And that's exactly what exactly what happened. Terry. Let's get to the phones. 31 to 91 7 200 is our tell the number the team Hochberg phone line. Here's Peter. Go ahead, Peter. Thank you wrote danger, Jerry for taking my call into really good questions. I have a refund Federal refund coming about $250. And I owe $440 from last year and I've been paying that off $50 increments a month. I think I'm almost done. But I haven't gotten a refund, so they applying, possibly applying this year's refund to pay off the balance on the federal What I want this year. Is that a possibility? That is an interesting question, because many times if you get a refund you can ask to have it applied toward your taxes next year, But it depends on how you filed your taxes last year. If you ask for the refund that it's entirely possible that they wouldn't have applied a credit against this year, and that the refund is Quote in process in there screwed up systems. So okay, I wanted to avoid a penalty. I would pay in what I owe this year And then I hope you get the refund back in the next month or so when when they get around to it. Is there way contracted or find out what the balance is No way You can find out anything. About your situation from the IRS and I have people in their situation calling me you know, I'm on a payment plan and I've sent in checks for the last three months. Someone said to me and I came and the Czechs aren't cashed. You know, both people went on their checks. I know that automatically attacks time. I've been to Kansas City Missouri years ago, actually with a TV crew, and they split up in the envelopes with the check. That was in the days when everybody paid by cheque, but sure, just seem to let it sit when they sent everybody home. Yeah, I felt like trying really quick. Follow up. I was listening. I felt like somebody following Robin Williams after that, distinguished But don't ever Oh, I'm sorry. Don't ever let it be said that we don't get interesting. Callers on this programme was also equating it too. It's like we would be sitting here, you know? Talking about song writing, you know, with with somebody who's just written a song, and then Paul McCartney calls. That would be exactly the same thing Peter really appreciate. Let me get you another call her before we gotta go, Jerry, you're on w g N Go, Jerry. Thank you wrote. Thank you, Terri. I was calling because one of my sons filed independently are the individual between 19 still has not received a stimulus check. Okay. Carrie In 2018 Did you declare him independent? In 2018. I did. Yeah, I figured that so it's likely that the first thing they did that The first thing they did when they started sending out cheques was a scan Social Security numbers and anybody who is independent in 2018. A lot of people still haven't filed 2019 were just about to and they wrote him off is independent now because he filed on his own in 2019 He would be entitled. So what is going to have to do is wait till he filed in 2020 And claimed the stimulus amount against the tax return. You 1020 21 for 2020 income with me, Um, three only way he's going to get it. He won't get it in a direct check because they immediately said no kid doesn't get it. He was a dependence. But because he filed independently and you didn't put him in a dependent in 2019 video, they did not. Yeah, OK, so he has a shot. If you know how things work out well with the IRA has got a file now, if he hasn't finally got a file by Wednesday, because that's no no. That's 2019 returned, and he's already filed 2019 independent. You didn't declare miss Independent. So next year in April, when he filed his 2020 return for this year, he can claim a credit of $1200. He should have been entitled because he filed a 2019 return. All right, there we go. It wasn't could depend on was nearly did feel like a shell game. But I think I understood exactly what Thank you. Jerry. Appreciated Terry Savage, terry savage dot com. Let's hope we have this kind of luck next week. Thank you. Big hero. Alright, let us tell you that Mr Richard Roper is going to be joining us coming up talking about the Tom Hanks movie, which is Coming to your television. Tonight or tomorrow. "Architect. Additive lunch on seven twenty. You're right about that. Mr. All right. Ready for this day live from John, barley corns? I am where as I said, you know, as I promised, see now I'm wearing I'm wearing nothing but tweed. Got my Jonty writing aware in the nineteen eighties. When I first started coming to John barley corn, right? You're smoking pipe. Yes. And I'm going to I'm going to be pulling off of a beautiful draft, if something very foreign very dark like my soul is going to be doing so it is it get to tell you when they opened up the John barley corn here near Wrigley changed the time. It went it, somehow the outfit doesn't work anymore. It doesn't I'm in the wrong. I'm supporting in here. There's a lot of tweets. I'm not seeing much at least so very very, very exciting stuff coming up on the program. Listen to Mr Richard Roper is just joining us live stepping up here. Mr John Vincent, the green sterner of Chicago. You see him at many sporting events doing many different things. And of course he's his residence at at Ditka's restaurant in Chicago, Mike Ditka's, buddy and a guy who he sinks. Sinatra about as good as a Senator did. Yeah. And I can say that, but he can't say that. His championship. Ring is kind of blinding right now as you sit in front of us. They're very cool. Apparently he was also on the Chicago Cubs in twenty-six not aware of it. But that barely backup catcher. I don't know quite, what he was, but he was something John's, a great guy, and the amazing singing towns, he does a lot of wonderful anti-bullying work with with the youth. The rare. Chicago area to some really, really great stuff in that as well. And he's a large man, who doesn't put up with a lot of crap, which I really which I really like so he's always stand behind him when. Yeah. And cubs and SOX fans. All of us run behind dryer and I've been in deep situations with him a notice I almost said something that was a nightclub back in the day. Deep situations. It was above outtakes. I believe. Hidden behind him a number of times. Okay. All right. So also, retell under is going to be here. Of course, is going to be your Luke kuechly Alito is going to join us testing could be your Merican legal stars Shelby. Playing this year. We actually could have these two gentlemen could actually be the battery of the all star game. James McCann is joining us right now the second in the ballot right now on the American League for catcher all all-star and James. Congratulations really grants. Thank you very much. Thank you. It's. You're having a great season. And I'm telling you, we've, we've been out there a million times when you come up to Batman. There's if there's, there's great hope when you you're standing in the batter's box. And it is, this is a fun team. Is it not? I mean, this is Lauren lamp said you are now appointment television and appointment, you know get into the stadium because you never know what's going to happen. It's, it's very true. It's a lot of fun. The group of guys over here from the south side, or a lot of fun. To, to play with but also to watch play United team-mate watching. Guys go out there and compete. It's a, it's a fun group of guys to be around. So you've already started some clubhouse, in some dugout rituals, there appears to be some troublemakers in the dugout. And there are some people James, I've noticed for not keeping their hands to themselves. Have you noticed that? Yeah there's a few guys here and there. But it it's all sorts of fun, guys have have a have a blast with each other. Obviously, it's some of the most fun I've ever had. No claim playing baseball, the guys that, you know, just fun loving nature and guys supporting each other preach other. It's a it's a very good. Very good culture. That's being created over here, and James, the sys-, the White Sox system is just loaded with talent and another one of their top prospects. Getting the call up today. Zach Collins, catcher Zack Collins and we haven't seen the lineup today. But what are you from you being the veteran you've caught guys like max Scherzer? Justin Verlander, what, what do you know about Zach, what should SOX, fans know about them, and what are you going to try to teach him as he gets acclimated in the in the bigs? Well, I was I was looking at to work with him pretty much every day during spring training. So he knows how I operate. I know how he operates we, we actually develop a little bit of relationship doing, you know, catchers, you know, kinda push each other during spring training. I'm excited for him. You know, he's, he's worked extremely hard. To get here. And, you know, I just hope to be that veteran for that helps him get acclimated quickly possible in regards to, you know what he's going to have to do it at a young catcher. There's a lot that goes on on your plate. You know, obviously you have to perform on the field, but there's a lot of step away from the field that you have to get control. And a lot of studying studying of posing live so causing hitters game planning knowing knowing the ins and outs of, of every hitter that you're about to face, as well as knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the pitchers at your catching. So there's just a lot of mental preparation that that goes into being a catcher different than, than say, young outfielder young shortstop, you know, that's, that's something that he's going to have to have to really focus on, as you know, as he grows as a major leaguer, this cross town rivalry is such a special thing for sports fans in this town. I mean it's a beautiful wonderful thing you can always feel the energy when it's going on. In chicago. And yet, there's a lot of smack talking that goes along with that. I mean, let's, let's be honest. Are you guys ready to go into Wrigley is have you heard any smack talking around, you know, the players and the fans are hearing it? You guys ready. Yeah. You know, this will be my first SOX cubs rivalry game. I've played before as an opponent with Troy, but you know from what I understand that. There's nothing like that. The SOX and cubs rivalry and I'm looking forward to. I know that, you know, every gun on our team is I know that because over there on the north side of looking forward to but at the same time, it's just one of one hundred sixty two games. So if you get caught up in, in the, the rivalry and caught up in too much, you almost make the game bigger than what it is. So I think that's something that we need to focus on is, is just another day while it is our arrivals. We can't let the game get bigger than than what it actually is James. We look forward to one of those cubs fans in left field, throwing back the home run after you smack.

"At ten o'clock, the Roe Conn show with an says, although I don't get it. I might not be involved in this one will be listening, okay? actually it's sort of being led by lauren who is chief geek she is geeking geek and chief game of thrones knowledge goes way deep and mr richard roper is always going to be so i think we have amazing production help i want mr brian alzheimer to be a part of this because he's also a geek he's our santa genius yeah so we we're going to have those we'll take your calls about how disappointed you are people are already ready for the grand disappointment do the whole season over again is what became of thrones fanatics are almost five hundred thousand signatures now take on different writers they said as soon as they went off the books that these two writers who are very talented people apparently can't get it right right the new star wars right gosh i forgot about that yes the not only the new like a whole new ark of star wars right this is not like the han solo I think that they were mentioning in, like twenty twenty two and you know, the three movies that are going to come out from their totally new characters new storylines. Right. I think anyway point is this is where we are. We're this, we're we're at a moment like this. We got a busy weekend. We got to prepare selves. I gotta do mouth exercises mouth, thanks state. What will have I get lockjaw on Friday night into Sunday night? And I have to start working my mouth back out so that I'm ready for Monday. So now I'm just going to have to just keep working all the way through. I'm like a two sport athlete. I think is the way to look at. And speaking of sport athletes last night at the Chicago White Sox game we were out there and Lauren and Kevin and I were doing what we do. We walked the concourse. It was a hey who what exactly? And you know there's a fast pitch. Thing that happens here on the concourse. You know, they got they got a gun on you and you can throw a ball and you try to hit a little fake catcher with his fake mitt. Yep. And Kevin is working not. He was not drinking. I cannot say the same for the other people in his party. Okay. But I can say that at least for Kevin and something happened. And I will tell the story in its full glory. This case, such. Cool. Making funny you can't even tell he is. But he's also the guy like hide behind the garbage can because he's too afraid to throw the base, but they don't give you the ball. Healing today. The oil on his shoulder a little little sore today. Would it gummy work? I think you got some of those companies, I believe the filmmaker for our show, Lauren might've actually captured some of this. And Where'd you put you put it up anyway, I did post Kevin's on Twitter, okay? It's a weird version. So I might have to repose because there's, there's a story there's a story of what happens after news, the guns all doesn't work. Okay. I will. I'll tell the story that's the guy with his hand and a beer in the other and mustard for dripping off his chin, not a hot dog. That was a dick faucet. This guy came and throw the ball. And he's stuff in his face. Please. That was the all right. All right. We're only gonna go two hundred more games so next up, bro. Con. Five five five. I think we should videotape these just so that it isn't only smack talking and mockery afterwards. But we actually have evidence. Yes, evidentiary proof. Thank you. Your honor. That was very very good. These days and it does look like a former prosecutor. He's just been elected judge somewhere. Right. That is like with the glasses and the whole thing robe. Sure, you need a fair minded. You know what you need? You need a judge show. That's a great amount of lawyer, and it's true. Please Wachner was a real judge. Judge Judy real judge. Okay. Sorta Mathis judge is I don't know. I don't know about any of these guys anyway. That's all your bailiff a great. Actually, you'd be the perfect prosecute over there. Yeah, there's if you wanna prosecutorial mind. And Kevin, I are excellent what at what suspect. Lineups. Right. We're the guys we did it both of them. They're look suspicious in guilty of just about. Everything was an accident. Who's got it didn't see the six year old back there. You're. That doesn't sound right. And so I need to hear the whole story later. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It was a moment. It was a moment. Let me just put it this way. It was a moment. If the cameras had been on us that they'd be talking about all over the country today. Making headlines. But the ones you really wanna make is that what I am semi. Anyway. No one got really heard. No, no, no, no, no, no. It was all really, really good. All right. And just say no from game of thrones. They are booking therapy sessions for people who have a let down after the show, either from.

"This four Justice small that Saudi Arabian prince and many owner both the same same thing. As far as I'm concerned. I saw the first pet cemetery. Yeah. All right. So pets pets tear. Yes. Stephen king. Who of course, has been the source of his books have probably been turned into more great movies than any author going all the way back to those pikers dickens and Shakespeare, Jane Austen and think about everything from carried it misery to stand by me to Shawshank, Redemption, you name it simply pet cemetery was one of his most popular novels, and they made a movie about nine hundred eighty nine. I actually reviewed that movie nineteen Eighty-nine Roger took the day off. And I gave it zero stars. The good news is this one is not zero starve movie, but I still kinda hate it. Give it to stars. I'll tell you. Why don't know the story of pet cemetery family moves from Boston to the obligatory house in the country and being surrounded by fifty acres of densely populated woods, which is never a good idea. Right. And there's a pet cemetery than an Indian burial ground. And they hear that. If you bury your there, it'll come back to life. And then maybe that would even work for a human so mom and dad. The little girl gets hit by a giant truck zone on the highway 'cause they also by the house right next to you know, I go to fast in Maine, right smashes the nine year old Kilby little tile door girl. They give her a funeral burial. And the whole thing. And then what does dad do in the middle of the night? He did Zor up and takes it to the burial ground drops during that she'll come back to life. Okay. So here's a little clip for that family film. I wasn't ready to seek it by. Back. Place range. Things. Happy. All right. That's the nine year old daughter. Who's now come back and walks in and mommy, as you could tell his freaking out because daddy thought it'd be a good idea to bring back to life. The thing is the ground is sour. So when they come back, they never come back the same way. Now zombie time. You know, it's a little girls really mad now because she didn't want to be brought that because she's dead. Now, you've got a movie where the nine year old is trying to kill her parents, basically. And I always have a problem when movies put the children in that role of being the killers being the psychos or whatever. And I know it's all make believe and everything. But it's it's hard to separate yourself from the little girl playing that role and what parent would want her daughter to play that role of sticking knife into. Mommy twisting, it that's just one of the most grisly scenes at that. I've seen in movies. There's plenty others like that. So it's really well made. And I think some people are going to love it. But I'm telling you right now, I found it more grotesque and exploitive and sadistic than really scary gross. Discussing and. Yeah, you bring a cat and the cat dies church. The cat perfectly. Nice little cat. He also gets run. Over by truck church comes back from the debt from the from the very ground snarling and growling and scratching and got those wild is jumping in the crib. Trying to go after the baby come on. That's not good. No. I think I'm gonna go see us because I haven't seen that yet. You wanna get asked. Two stars for pet cemetery mainly because it is a well directed well acted film. But it's just it's not one of Stephen king's the novel is a lot more interesting than the movie, I want to write about shit Zam. Okay. Side move. Mr Richard Roper is here. He's reviewing coming up at six o'clock really a little bit of an indepth into this story that is shaking Aurora where there's a guy involved one of those grisly series of murders in Chicago history who has been released from jail and now it's taking president's in Aurora. What was that series of murders? All about you're gonna wanna stay tuned for that story coming up, but first let's check in Kim was happening at the top of the row as we told you empire actor Jesse smollet refuses to pay up now the cities taking legal action. In the loop crash.

"That's all weekdays for AM WGN. Okay. Mr Richard Roper is here. He does not like alita colon battle angel. Not at all. I predict. Yeah. I think the critics will be mixed on this. But I do predict it's going to be bomb at the box office. It's never gonna make that two hundred million dollars back. Now, there are there are some critics who like it. I'm thinking, I'm guessing, I don't know. I haven't looked at the other. I try to stay away from the for the rotten tomatoes until after my reviews out there. Then I like I love seeing what some of the stuff to say outstanding cast though, it's such a shame that you'd waste it. Yeah. Yep. Outstanding cast indeed. Where shall Allie? Cannot do anything wrong. Jennifer Connelly's in that category. From your really lost in this the two of them, especially their two characters are ridiculous. It's like some sort of weird mob movie. Just when you think Marsha Ellie Ali. Yes. Couldn't make something better. That was already. Great true. Detective right true. Detective is one of the great either less heralded than it should be shows on television. Changes cats and decisions and all that. It's just a it's a detective procedural, right? But it's always different and unrelated every season, right? Marsha ali. Is the true detective in this great seasons of of other great actors playing them and thinking are you really going to get one procedures of all times act McConnell? Woody Harrelson right now, can you actually McConnell not just driving a car and looking weird? He was great. It shows. You wise. And Marshall is transcended plan three character three to four points in his life. The age of thirty like in his forties and then seventies. So it was different things beautifully filmed. Excised from this film that he would like to probably nice paycheck for all those involved. So good for them. Yeah. Happy death day to be death day to you. Perfect viewing for Valentine's Day weekend. So this isn't a sequel happy death day, which was one of those little horror films that made a lot of money. You know, relatively speaking made like fifty or sixty million dollars on a budget and nothing because doesn't have any recognizable stars will tell you. I like this franchise I'm giving this one three stars. And I liked the first one to it said in a college campus. And here's how you can. If you want to know, what's happening and happy death date to you. It's as simple as this imagine. If the scream franchise bumped into groundhog day. Oh, that's the movie is she keeps waking up. Our our sherline our protagonist turning nickname is tree in the movie. Every she wakes up in the morning. It's the same morning. She has to relive thing. And then she gets murdered at the end of the day and wakes up again. So I mean, and the great thing is the filmmakers realize that that's what they're doing. So there's a lot a lot of winking commentary. Yes, we know. This is scream meets groundhog day the lot of references to other movies by the characters. So it's actually really funny and sharp and put sick, which is what it's supposed to be and. This isn't theaters happy birthday Chia planes around the country. Isn't there an Amy Poehler show that is going to be there's a Russian dowels a Netflix series by any polar with tasha Leone who also relives her death every single night on her birthday. Great, by the way, I see that entire series. It's amazing. So now, there's a whole genre of people repeating things. But happy death day. We'll say was before Russian doll because this is the sequel believe it or not so and you like it I do like the happy birthday to you movies. They're very sick and funny and twisted and the really made for the millennial audience that's really movie geek because almost every scene they'll even talk at some points. Like, this is so doc Brown and Marty MC fly the reference other movies. So for what it wants to be. It's very successful at it will make it will not make as much money as lead a battle angel. But in terms of you know, ratio to investment to profit. Much rather have your stock and happy birthday to you? Okay. Movie made here in Chicago called hunter. This would be forty years after another movie was made here called hunter. Steve McQueen with the famous leap off the marina city towers, right the car, so yeah. Very quickly. Hunter is available on demand. It's got nothing to do with that. It was filmed here in Chicago. What I like about this is the filmmakers working on a small budget lattice scenes like a lower Wacker on the west side. You could feel the grit and the soot and the dirty snow of Chicago's got a real Chicago, Phil it's basically about a guy who's got them PTSD, and it puts the theory out there that maybe some of the unsolved murders in Chicago are at the hands of Sally, shall we say supernatural beings. Maybe that's why some of these murders have never been so many Eddie Johnson right now, let him know that maybe the killers have more teeth than.

And why did she get all of these Oscar nomination I need to see it? How crazy is this movie? Nobody ever heard of is sweeping the Oscars, absolutely. I gotta go. See it also the favourite if you it's spelled the British way bore and Black Panther and pretty good. Okay. You know, for me a star is born is the most important film ever made. And it was no k David a star is born and the Askar nominations. We'll talk about all that with Richard. Not a great day. The Bradley Cooper got snubbed. Yeah. He's getting snubbed a lot in this. And I thought he I mean, you just saw it just loved it. Yeah. I mean me. Yeah. It's great. There's a lot of ugly crying in. It is. Emily blunt got. Blunted by the the that was bad because she's you know, she's Mary Poppins in everybody wins from Harry Poppins. It's a law. If you play Mary Poppins, you have to win an Oscar the Black Panther a superhero movie getting nominated causing quite star deal. That's coming your way. We'll talk about all of that. But I Kim Gordon's in the WGN newsroom, and she tells you what's going on right now.
