He made an attempt to get word to her to tell her where the money was hidden. Have made the attempt, but he couldn't possibly have succeeded. He was too closely watched her after all. $400,000 is a lot of money. A lot off money. Yes, you could almost buy a second hand car with it. If I hadn't been fully covered by insurance, my firm would have gone under in the face of a lost that large and no. Mr Templar. If I might ask, the question is why this sudden urgency is three o'clock in the morning business. An old man was tortured to death. Then a fellow named O'Brien, who came calling on the old Man was shot to death. But before he was killed Oh Brand told me was tracking down. $400,000 has been stolen E c. I was driving to my house in Vegas and I saw the cold Stone creamery and I told the driver pull over. I'm getting an ice cream. It was like a million degrees and he said, not now because I have another pickup. So he wipes the blood from his head. And he says I could use a nice cream two sides on little dizzy. I really shouldn't be driving right now. So I go into this line and Cold Stone creamery, and it's out the door. Every stupid question. People ask his I have, like an easy walk like Grauer. R Dub enjoying some well deserved time off Steve Courtney once again thrown into the mix. Despite the vote as the dub sub nice to have you with us. We are surrounded by some darn good friends in the new center Corey Osborne Marie. Good morning. In for executive producer and Thomas. That would be good friend. Dave Rieger. David. Morning, Steve. How are you? Everything is Well, Try and tone it down there. Dave, Wait, wait. I have a question for Dave Davis. Did the markers arrive? Yes, they did yesterday. Yes, I wanted. Yes, I should have. I should have said your tax myself. Jess. I was worried about it all afternoon. Yes, I'm sure you were Reza Warrior. The sharpies did arrive that as a gift for anybody. I just needed some sharp. Okay, Steve, your Your gift is in the mail. With the rest of the male. That is a running late, but it's but it's coming to you, my friend. Finally enough that we gave Dave a lot of grief yesterday because he happened to make me talk about packages being late and he mentioned Oh, yes, you know, I ordered some sharpies and they haven't arrived. And we were like, Who the heck are you giving Sharpies too? And we just did not let that rest So I'm sorry I interrupted your introductions there, but I had to sass well, the traffic center will just Bring on Mr Rich Lisinski Rich. Always a pleasure. Happy to be here. Steve. Greetings and salutations. He was in on the roast yesterday morning to of day. Yes, Oddly enough, most oddly enough, there could be a relative. Of Dave saying, Geez, I hope Dave, Uncle Dave comes through with the sharpies. I asked. But you know what? Here we are a couple of days. Away from the Big day Christmas Day. 2020 on dit is going to be a little bit different, just like Thanksgiving was normally at this time. You've got people traveling all over the place and we have been told That is not a good idea. But you know what? It's one of those deals that people are going to do what they're gonna do. Uh, let's ask the panel, Marie. I know you have a Sizeable family. Do you have intent of welcoming or going somewhere in a controlled environment? No, you know, no, we do. Our daughter was able to come in from New York. But she and her husband have been quarantined for two weeks. So And they drove in. So we feel we're very confident about them being in our home. And our son is also coming over and he lives locally. But he also you know for the last 10 days has not been a you know, Matt. Been in contact with anyone. So we feel pretty calm Everything else. I mean, we usually have 20 people are so if not more running around that now we had We shut it down and we're doing drive by gift exchange. So Just the way and we're not going to services which for us is a very central point of Christmas. So for us anyway, that is, and that makes me very sad. Well, David, I have worked with you throughout this Detroit Lions season. I know you and your family enjoyed a wonderful Hanukkah season. But that was different in and of itself. You know, there was there was just one evening when we did a zoom thing. Um, for my niece's birthday is on Christmas Day. S so I will see, um her, but the it seems like with my sister in law's family, it's always big on Christmas Eve. Christmas Eve is like a big get together and that's not happening and they're not coming into town. From Ohio, like they usually do, and the big celebration that they have with her friends and their big family. That all has been counseled also, and they'll be doing I think, just like kind of like Marie, like a drive by gift exchange. But, yeah, it's ah, It's pretty sad. I was talking to Kevin yesterday about what it's like to go to midnight Mass. Because there's a church that's right by the condo where I live, and that place is packed all the time, and I gotta believe that it's gonna be hard for people. That are going to be able to go either to midnight Mass. Or I know they have on Christmas Day. Sometimes they have a service to and but probably not gonna be the same. Well, everything is virtual these days. And I know some parishes are offering that others, by the way, are offering limited seating that you have to call and make reservations for crying out loud. What Iris does you have to have Ah, Rosie to get in and but it's easy. Everybody's easy. Everybody's Happy to do it rich. What do you got going on, sir? Well, we're going to be in the drive by club as well. In fact, my mom yesterday was telling my dad to dust off the patio furniture because we've got an aunt and uncle who always come in around this time, But there Gonna be staying for very long. And they're not actually gonna think I guess come in the house. They're afraid, too. So I'm still wondering what the point of coming down from Charlevoix will be for them, but it'll be fun. Nonetheless. We'll make it work as we've been making it work for the past over. Nine months or so, right? Eight months. Well, if your if your family's gonna be sitting on the patio, you better whip up some hot cocoa. Yeah. What about you, Steve? Well, you know what Christmas Eve a stave, Rieger alluded to has always been The big day in the Courtney household, always at my mom and Dad's and dad passed away in 2007. Mom has continued the tradition and there's usually about 30. People are so that stopped by with family, friends, neighbors. What have you been? We have decided that you know what we're going to get together at Mom's immediate family. Only my brother, his family, my sister, You know you're talking Probably A dozen people. We believe mast up. Uh, social distance, of course. And you know, the tradition, you know, will continue, albeit in a very different way. Um But that's just the way we're going to do it. And what comes time to make a decision based on what is good for your family. Quite frankly, there is no wrong decision. You have to move forward during this special time of year. The best.

"Top 10 NFL Power rankings, Connor Green. I'm going to give you a few teams. You tell me if you think they're in my top 10. Indianapolis Colts. Do you think I put the cults in my top 10? I don't think you did after last week's loss. That would be correct. I like the Colts defense. Don't trust Philip Rivers. That team got annihilated by the Tennessee Titans. Now to be fair few weeks before colts annihilated the Tennessee Titans. It was the other way. But tennis of but the Colts to me, I've not been a top 10 believer in them. And you look at the other teams like it's not negotiable. Sixteen's that have to be in And no water. Bucks. Packers Seahawks ain't Steelers chiefs Even with the buck struggles, they have to be in the top 10. So those like six teams that will be in the top 10. But the Colts, too, May I just think there's too many inconsistencies to put them in the top 10? I think they're sealing this year. Is a playoff win if they got a playoff win. I look back and say, Wow, that was a good season. Cardinals. You think the Cardinals who were in my last top 10? Back and week eight. Do you think they're in my top 10 this year? I think they still are in your top 10 tough loss last week, but I think because of Cuyler Murray, you'll have them in the top 10. Inaccurate. They're not in my top 10. They have fallen out of the top 10. Miami has the Dolphins the greatest football team, They moved the ball from gold Gold gold marching 123. I think those are the lyrics. I always say that whenever I said, I think that's the lyrics. Imagine if I must have said that about four or five times. Imagine if I'm getting the lyrics wrong. It could happen. Miami in the top 10. Yes or no. I wouldn't put them in the top 10 because, you know, I think there are better team with Ryan Fitzpatrick out there. I know you may be. Some people disagree with that. But eventually to is going to be back on the field and I don't think they're as good of a team and I think that the Cardinals right now if they were to play the Dolphins I think the Cardinals are better team. I think the Cardinals would win. But you know what the Dolphins defense playing the way it has been the last few weeks. It is tough to argue They're not in the top 10 at seven and four Dolphins, Not in my top 10. I see. So you compare them to the court. You think the Cardinals are better the dolphins, But you thought that I would have put the dolphin to the top 10. Even though I just said the Cardinals were not well, you should have went with your gut. If because I do agree that I do think the Cardinals have bread in the Dolphins of dolphins on my top 10. Las Vegas Raiders, who I loved after the Chiefs game, Like all right, here goes, they're coming together. That was second time playing the Chiefs. They beat him the first time that they lost the second time it is what it is. And then the Raiders get smacked around last week by the Atlanta Falcons Raiders in my top 10, yes or no, There's no way you put the Raiders and the top said after that, beat down by the Falcons, right hate to break it to you. They're my top 10. Wow. Just kidding that out of my top 10. I can't put them in my top 10. Ravens. Ravens at six and five. Are they in my top 10? I know you've said before. You think the Ravens are gonna be the last team in the A F. C. You can't really knocked them for the loss yesterday because nobody's healthy, So I think You do have the Ravens in the top 10? I do not have the rave. Wow. Top, Ted. Don't you see a theme here? I'm setting it up. You're pretty smart kid. Right? You would agree. Connor, Green, Smart guy. Everyone loves Connor Green here at CBS Sports Radio. It's not just because you're a nice person. It's because you're talented. And you're intelligent. So all right after the Colts, the Cardinals the Dolphins, I could see. I'm getting into a little theme here. I'm giving you all the teams that are not in the top 10 because then we're gonna tease it. Make people want to stick around. I'm gonna be my top 10 when we come on back, So you set this thing up Colts, not in the top 10. Cardinals, not in the top 10. Offense, not in the top 10 Raiders, not in the top 10. Ravens, not in the top 10. Now. I got one more question for you. Let's see which way your mind is here. Is it in the right direction, or is it in the wrong direction? The Rams. Do I have the Rams in the top 10. Now you just said these air All the pattern is none of these teams are in the top 10. But if I had to guess you're sneaking one in, I think the Rams are in your top 10. That would be correct. That's why you're a smart kid. They're con agree when we come on back to give you my top 10 teams in the National Football League as we enter week 13. It's power rankings. They come back to you. On the Zach Gil Show in five minutes first up there with the latest CBS Sports Radio update. We get to Mr Rich Ackerman. See me? Yes. Sports flag. The Lakers are well positioned for another title run is Anthony Davis has reportedly agreed to a five year extension worth $190 million..

Um yeah. I'm glad that Biden one. Um, I think we need to restore the wrongs that have been done in the past being. The environment to NATO, rewarding Russia for constantly messing with military and Haunting us. Um I don't understand the connection there. I find it extremely worrisome. I don't know. I think that the election has been Is over with the states have decided to continue. It is further division within our country and I wished it to go away. I want to make friends with everybody again. I want to be one country red blue. Yellow whatever color you was to be, but to be friends again, By the way, not I'm not being flip. It's always funny how we say that I don't care whether you're blue green guy. I've never seen a green person or a blooper. Well, maybe a blue person. If you're a Smurf in I'm just goofing around a little bit getting serious for a second bug. I understand what you're saying. And I think I appreciate people who who have an opinion about issues because That's why we vote, and that's why we want our representatives to be there to represent us on the issues we care about. And not everyone agrees on Lee in Russia. Do they agree? Quote unquote with Putin or they're dead. And that's a healthy thing. So let's talk a little bit about foreign policy for a second, because there's a lot of stuff. It's a dangerous world is a lot of stuff at stake. We've got issues with China. We've got issues with still the Middle East. Where do you see the hot spots? Where do you see the spots where any president will have to pay much more attention. Well, you just touched on both of them, didn't you? That's I mean China and the sea, The sea lanes. That's obviously the world contention and then Middle East. Well, we've got oil that Z. We've retreated from the Middle East against all advisers. Anybody that knows, as asked us not to. We've given. I feel we're given the Middle East to the Russia and China, which I'm worried about this. No, no, They're just got tail between our legs and run. I don't think that's what our generals want us to do. And it's for good reason. Well, that's the question is gonna be costly. The question is, uh, you know, one thing you can say about Donald Trump's period in office. We did not enter any new wars. In fact, we scaled down troops in your thinking that could be a dangerous Move. Up in the Middle East. Absolutely. It is a volatile area and toe. Take out presents out of there. I find nothing. Listen after nine. If you want to know the truth, it's I understand that. Yes. Bring the boys home. Everybody wants this toe. All of America wants us. I mean, if you don't, why don't you butt It's not the world we live in. And in an area like say, Yeah. Iraq to retreat and leave Iraq and leave that open. Well, I'll give you one example. Okay that time Syria. Some took over. We left Syria. We let that the Kurds be exterminated. They were allies who's gonna trust us in the future. Well, I will bet my question. You know, it's an interesting question. Let me let me respond, and then I'll let you get the next question or comment and I'm not an expert in foreign affairs. I don't think you are not guess I'm just guessing we're not, you know, college professors with degrees, But what strikes me is, you know for the longest time we've been there now and way. Afghanistan for what? Almost 20 years. And we've made progress. But we've lost a lot of blood and treasure and maybe it's time for us to just Secure what we have and move out and not waste the lives of Americans anymore. And it seems as though Middle East is is starting to come together with Israel, making peace with many of their neighbors, so Isn't that a hopeful sign that we can leave some of these places and allow these countries to do what they do? Absolutely. I mean, I mean, I think it's a good thing if we're able to do that. What are we leaving behind, though who's moving in behind us? The Russians and the Chinese is that in our American interest, there's a question for you. Well, it's it's always in our interest to counter act contradict Those forces Russians Chinese whatever who are moving against our interests wherever that may be, And that's one of the reasons why My hope is that Biden when he takes over and becomes full president will treat the Chinese With with not with kid gloves, but we'll treat the Chinese sternly because if he doesn't they're going toe continue to walk all over us and walk all over the world. You know, Hong Kong is a disgrace What they've done in that particular part of the world and you Probably would agree. So there are a lot of issues anyway. I've gotta hold you there. I'm so sorry. Morning, late on time here, But I appreciate the call. Wish you a very happy Thanksgiving, Bob. Okay? Same to you all. Thank you. Let me go to Bill Who's been very patient, Bill. Thank you. "Paris or in France, or in ah in the United States because he was also professor Syracuse University in New York. But I did not expect actually seeing him as a creation artist. So we have a lot of sculptures by even Mr Rich and also they're very surprised by the very building of the museum because the building was built by a very wealthy ship owner Bullshit bonnet to the time and was a villa. Exactly. It was a residential private villa and now would actually when we see the size of the museum, it's in unimaginable to to think that someone might live there. But unfortunately he didn't live a long time. The construction took six years for 1932 to 1938, but he only spent two or three months living there. And then he had to escape Gracia because the second World War started and after the museum was confiscated during the area, Yugoslavia and it's turned into a national museum that remained as so after Teo Independence work. So there's a lot of history just in that building exactly because it's very interesting to think to again to the comparison between the Bronek and is because this is a modern building. But he draws a lot of inspiration from these Bronek architectural Renaissance architecture, such as Rector's Palace Disposer Palace. We have this typical Gothic and Renaissance artists. That that is the same one actually has got six palace in the director's palace, in the broad regret also draws inspiration for these Renaissance villas that we can see the in the surrounding so the Bronek. So it's not just the pieces that are inside of the building itself. Exactly, And, ah, we have. Also, a lot of arrests of people are usually stunned by this most beautiful view in the chronic. And especially when we have the opening of this Dubrovnik Summer Festival 1/10 of July. We usually have a huge ceremony in these terrorists, and we usually have gathering around 400 people, So it's really interesting. And with luck next July, you're gonna have that opening again. Yeah, I really hope so. I know it's It's so weird to be able to walk down the streets of Dubrovnik now not see it. In a completely consumed of people. It's it's for me. It's great, but I mean, it's it's a different feeling, isn't it? But I think it's so when I talked to a lot of contemporary Isleta contemporaries as they tackle with this issue's overcrowding of Ah, massive tourism, So that's the topic of a lot of their artworks. And now they just They said that they like this stuff because they started working on new serious and I just had to do a cut. And reflect on something completely different. Or you tell me there's something hanging on the wall there about tour buses and games of Thrones. There is not about the game with us, but we have actually like we have, for example, map of the city with all the, um with all the tourism areas in the in the Bronek, which is actually a sarcastic map off the Dubrovnik. Wow. Now I can't let you go because rumor has it. You know where the best ice cream is in town, But I usually go to Johnny's place in Ah, it's a small bar in the broth mix in the bombing sport, and I really like it because it's really original. And the flavor. I need to go. I think, honey. Hannah, honey, Lavender. I think that's honey. Lavender. They have very peculiar taste. Well, if you're going to come to the public, you know one shot for honey Lavon during this that we're going, Elena Timman. Thank you so much. The curator of the Museum of Modern Art here in Dubrovnik, and the museum is open. Yes, exactly. We opened in August, right? Thanks again. Back with more of history.

"For this last weekend in October, 2020 Otherwise known as Halloween. Of course, you can always reach me at Peter Peter Greenberg dot com With your name, phone number, question of problem. We will solve it right here on the air. And if you're just joining us, let me tell you where we're coming from. Get out Those maps, Sports and girls. 42 degrees 39 minutes North 18 degrees five minutes east. No, we're not in the bunker in New York. We're coming to you from Croatia and in particular Dubrovnik and happy to be back. I've been coming here. Literally for over 30 years. I came here before the war. I came here right after the world and coming about maybe every year and a half since lots of things to talk about, but one of the things that you know people come here to see and I'm not going to discuss game of Thrones. I'm just not going to do it. We've already discussed it earlier in the show, but there's so much more to see here if you know where to look. And one place you want to look is the Museum of Modern Art. And joining me now is the curator from that museum. You, Elena. Damn Injun. Excellent. Would I do it? Oh, my God. I got the name right? A lot of little little people actually do it for one. So I'm only gonna do one because I know what a mess it up again. But how old is the museum? Actually, the museum was established in 90 45. But it moved to this building that we are currently in 1948. So over half a century, exactly yes, and the definition of modern art in Croatia. Is well, Actually, we have the collection decker prizes around 3000 artworks, but we have ah, modern and contemporary art at the museum. So we have actually the modern are Spence from the end of 19th century up in 1945 up today in the Second World War, and then we have the contemporary art that is in second category, actually, for 90 45 up to the present. They And you have some of your your founding artists. They are. Ah, well, it's very interesting that the two artists that founded the modern art increase our lack of book about two heels from South that it's Ah, it's actually small city. Near by the airport, the chronic and the matter. Listen, Madame X, who is an artist from Paris. That's funny slavery, famous for the For the quality of wine, and these two artists. They started a broad back a book. What's he started? And I called the Bazaar in Paris and the mother, Celeste, Amanda Bitch Academy, Munich, and then it's interesting that all these artists they had to study abroad because increase at a time creation was part of those strange Aryan Empire. We did not have Academy in Zagreb. A lot of artists from abroad because they had to study abroad. So in the big art center, such as Paris, Munich, Vienna, Prague, and then they brought all this And you are Ah, for example, such as Expressionist. Some impression is important realism, painting and plan A or painting the open. But they did not only bring new art expressions but also brought new mentality. New ideas. And that also had a lot of influence on the creation. Political scene battles on the society. Well, speaking of the political scene, you know if you go and you take a look at the museums in Poland, Warsaw, you see an entire arc of protests. An expression. Do you see that here, too? Yes, then modern contemporary. It's well known for its rebellious and it's really interesting when into a comparison to Dubrovnik, O R. Republican Bronek, these artists, they were regarded more as artisans and these artisans. They had their worst were commission, so they had to follow the orders and the guidelines of someone who commissioned the art. But now, with the modern contemporary ideas, we have completely Rebellious artists who want to fight a system. For example, during two ghostly vehicle for the socialist ideas, the one who wanted to create their own world. I would love to see exactly exhibition of the Tito era. You know when he was running things right, But there's actually there's another museum in the running this museum, but history which actually shows the whole history of this, it's called the museum read History socials history during the teacher's area. There's a museum in Los Angeles that nobody ever goes to. And it's the Museum of the Cold War. And when you see the artwork during the Cold War, you see it slowly start to emerge in terms of being expressionism of a rebellious nature. It was great. It's nice to see the comparison what was then seen and showed and displayed in the art museum. We don't have it anymore in their museum because it's regarded now. As a knight with not a good quality actually in it, But now we have something that is was granted something as completely none art. We have it as the main pieces of the contemporary art. There are many of course, getting into a definition of terms. What about street art? Well, we have. We don't have extra lot of street outing in the running because I think we like this. In this drill areas where you could do it is this big walls where you can actually sew the street are so the street art is more President, for example, is a great speech America these big industrials art centers in Croatia. What's the biggest surprise you have in the museum? People are not expecting as an exhibit. Well, actually a lot of people. They were surprised to see some artists, for example, even Mr which they saw their art works, for example, in Paris or in France, or in ah in the United States because he was also professor Syracuse University in New York. But I did not expect actually seeing him as a creation artist. So we have a lot of sculptures by even Mr Rich and also they're very surprised by the very building of the museum because the building was built by a very wealthy.

"Hello everybody. Welcome to audio judo. I'm Matthew I'm kyle. Thanks for joining us today. Indeed Al How're you doing? I'm doing pretty good. How are you doing well? That's good it's good to hear. Superman does good. I do well very nice. Thanks thirty rock. We got some business I do. Oh good let's talk earlier this week. We were lucky enough to talk to One of my musical idols. Fish the ex lead singer of a progressive rock band from that. Was that still around now. But was very popular in the eighties Very continues to popularity in Europe not so much in the states The band's name was Meridian fish is about to release his final studio album later this year and he was gracious enough to join us from his home in Scotland and chat for about forty five minutes or so. It was great Since our timeline might be out of wack currently That episode mice most likely aired before this one did so if you are joining us for the first time to listen to this episode. I encourage you to go back. And listen to that one as well Gave us some great info about the current state of the music industry regarding re Corona Virus. Yeah and some other super stuff as well as well as cooking. Lovely lamb dinner for his mother while he was on the phone with us so that was a great interview. I really enjoyed it. That was fun is fun. Talk to once. You can understand what he's saying. I'm just kidding. That's surprisingly had no problem with that. Just a couple words yet. A Scottish before we had talked to matthew was like Ilyas a Scottish brogue in his voice and I was like okay. So I'm really going to pay attention. I picked it right up. I don't know how good I mean. It wasn't fancy than me. I guess that's good. Yeah there was only one time where I was kind of like. What was that word but that I think we both looked at each other. Like what the heck was that word but we got ammos great. We got it through context. I believe yeah also Again since I don't know exactly when this will be airing I'm not entirely sure where we will be. In the Corona Virus Saga Twenty Twenty. Either way the crisis it has affected everyone including independent artists trying to carve out a living back in October. We interviewed a band of Kentucky. Named the cold stares they're great ban really wonderful guys And this crisis hit them. Quite hard. Cancelled all their gigs. That they had lined up for the summer as well as putting a stop to some of their teaching gigs for the time. Being since most of those are done in person they put together a special t shirt that they are selling for twenty five bucks to help supplement their lost other. I bought a couple And if you'd like to buy one or just have a look at them Encourage you to go to their merchandise site. It's the cold stares dot square dot site. Anything you can do to help out would be appreciated that includes paying for some downloads. Listen their music or whatever but your independent artists out. There is most likely struggling big time so if you want to listen to them or you have one in particular that you enjoy listening to throw him a couple of downloads. Do whatever you to help them out because this is a very difficult time for everybody. Yes it is. That's all I have for old business. So this week's choice. Nineteen ninety four album throwing copper by the group live just so we're clear. This was one of my favorite bands from that period. And this record is probably my top fifteen. Those lists are always really difficult kind of weird to make. I'm not saying that this is one of the top fifteen records ever made or that. I even think this is one of the best top fifteen records that I could listen to. It's just one of those records that I go back to a few months and listen to us to have a permanent place in my multi. Cd Changer and it's one of those records at shows up in my top plays when spotify. Geezer your list at the end of the year. So was it trunk mounted multi play. Cd player it was. That's nice. It's very ah Nice. He had a removable one as well. That was an different car. But Julio that was a fancy with the little handle how Mr Rich Roller Rare. It's all it's all for the music so live. The band consists of four guys. Chad gracey on drums Chad Taylor on guitar to Chad's a Patrick Dole Heimer on bass and Ed Kowalczyk on vocals and guitar. They have been together since the mid eighties when they were all in their middle teens. Typical suburbanite garage band They were founded in York. Pennsylvania originally called public affection but renamed themselves live in the nineteen eighties right before they got a record deal. Oh they regularly played. Cbgb's in New York. Those concerts help secure their first record deal. Nineteen Ninety one nineteen ninety-one New Year's eve of Nineteen ninety-one to be exact. They released their first album mental jewelry. And that was the first I ever heard of them or saw them to be more precise oh I saw them and heard them for the first time on. Mtv's twenty minutes It was for song called operation. Spirit the tyranny of tradition and it was very direct for me when I first thought it caught me off guard. It was very jarring so I was at that time. Nineteen year old kid about three months away from meeting my future wife smoking. A lot of we'd drink a lot of beer very angry and confused about my life and prospects I've been raised. Catholic went to Catholic school and was jaded mad about a lot of things I had been raised to believe. We're true. My parents were devout Catholics. My was a permanent deacon in the Catholic Church which in Catholicism is as close as you can get to being a priest without actually becoming one more than anything because he had been married. I my mom also had a certificate in theology from the seminary which as close as you can get to being a nun without actually being one more than anything because she had been married. I pattern here. So they taught classes on sexuality and marriage so yeah it was weird. Oh boy that's very weird however that was fun as was very strange but they were not strict. Like you would expect. Yeah I had to go to church every Sunday But I still watch rated movies. My parents drank. They knew I did too so it was fine but I was angry because it all seemed like a big scam to me And I realized that we're kind of far afield from music but it's kind of relevant so when I was a kid I was really bought into this charade I was an altar boy sang in the choir played. Drums and a host of different events at the church went to Catholic school and I believed what I was being taught because that was what I was raised to believe but then I got into high school and I started forming the person I was going to become and began to think for myself I started. Look things look things differently right? I went to a pretty liberal Catholic highschool and in our religion classes which were daily especially towards senior year. We were encouraged at some point to explore different religions. I'm sure it was under the guise of comparison shopping but it opened a lot of is because other religions or spiritual practices made a lot more sense than the pomp and tradition of Catholicism especially like during Easter or something.

There's a reason you have me here for them. Now because something on my say or do even a music class will change their lives. And I've had many creature who said I sang in your choir. And you're one of the reasons fly. I'm still you know preaching doing for the Lord. I'm Fred who said he had gotten kicked out over Cabbie and he said I was the only teacher that came up to him and says one mistake does not define who you are. Keep going and and that's true because our mistakes do not define this The the love of Jesus defines who we are and so I think if I wanNA leave anything to anybody is just everything I just said yes. That's incredible and while this might seem like the same question. It's slightly different. This is philosophy so I'd like to ask people with their lives. Philosophy is so if you had your own words to live by something that's kept you going in the past and something that propels you to the future. What would you say your lies? Philosophy is okay. Here's something I like to say Do whatever you can while you can because tomorrow circumstances this may take that opportunity away. Do whatever you can while you can. Because tomorrow circumstances they take that opportunity away I was just looking around at my closet this morning. I have tons of clothes that I wish I add or the Kobe. Nineteen stay at home order happen. I wanted to give away to the local thrift store. And they're just piling up in my calling and I can't say I'm GonNa do it today. I'm going to do it today. I yes okay but it takes time back up boxing up and I did so I made a promising start number one. The other thing is oftentimes people will come across your mind and that is an opportunity for either to do one or two things to reach out to then speak with them but for certain it is to just drop in pray for them. Because you don't know what it made me going through right that second that Krier I have been blessed to just stop in principle. People not knowing that at that exact moment what they were going digital they just ran across my mind And then finally appoint. My mom used to quote to me. I don't know the author if a task is one speak gun. Never quit until it's done bay the Labor great or small. Do it well or not at all. That is one that I believe. I've heard my grandmother say to me a couple of times. That's a pretty powerful one. I like that in the last question. I have for you if you're reading something or if you've started a couple of bucks whatever that might be. What would you recommend some of us? Who are listening today. All right so my favorite book about Jesus is a call the desire ages I take it out often repeated his just reading through the crucifixion in his undying love for us is just amazing That will never get old. You Me Love. Songs have been inspired from bad book. I still reading become a by a Shell Obama grim on a promise myself. Doing this stay home. Time that of finished and honestly my stay home. Time has been learning new technology Before code at Nineteen. I didn't do podcasts. In calls. Virtual teams of Microsoft teens. I I need none of that but now I do. Now I do so those those two right now I house is full of books. My husband is an avid reader. Always say book series other girlfriend but but that's okay I always know where he is at home And so they're tons of books on our shells and I may just revisit a few of them but those two for now just to get a Lotta love that well. I want to thank you so much Mrs Gale. But before you leave before you're gone. Yeah you sang a song for my good friend. Mr Rich Garcia. He became the Student Association. President right after me we handed you know you and I handed off leadership. Stick to him and you did through a beautiful video. I was wondering if you could to close us out if you would play that song. Trust in the Lord. It's very pretty rendition. Oh.

Promoting Your Brand on Facebook in 2020

"All right so the other thing that I mentioned the other big thing I thought was very very cool was coming for my guest and my guest today. Is Mr Rich Barker how you doing rich? How's it going good? It's it's been quite a while since I've had you on the podcast at that doesn't don't take that personally it system. It's been busy having a lot of guests on But I know that you and I talk outside of the podcast. Lot worked together and rich happened to be well before I get to that reveal. Let me do something rich. Do you mind reminding people what you do here. Mike Rudy sure so I handle all paid efforts for any retailer. That is doing marketing through my Kurdi. So I handle all the strategy and implementation for primarily Google ads and facebook in regards to the retailers that we're working with currently all right so rich happened to be walking past my cubicle. The other day my desk and he he stopped me and he said listen to this. Listen what we're doing now. It's it's very cool. And he told me about this really neat new strategy that we're using On facebook ads for some of our retail customers. And I thought you know what that that is very cool. Let me share that with our listeners. I bet they they would be interested in that particularly if they're on facebook and it running ads in putting their their posts out there so rich you know. We don't want to go to a depth but at a high level. Do you want to let our listeners? Know exactly what you were telling me the other day. Sure so we sat down and strategize how we wanted to attack facebook in twenty twenty and came up with a essentially three prong approach. The I was simply an everybody knows how to do this. Boost boosting post a the big thing. Though is targeting your followers so a lot of people don't realize when you put a post out into the ether you just assume that you're five hundred followers all see the post will. Unfortunately that's not the case. Most of the time a post is only gonNA reach three four percent of your followers. Google facebook definitely GonNa make you pay to reach everybody so boosting oppose for you know fifteen twenty bucks something like that to your followers is definitely a great investment As far as what the Post Stars that's completely up to you whether it's a blog or an upcoming event or whatever. The case may be the second PRONG is increasing your followers. So many times we get a new retailer that unfortunately may only have one hundred two hundred followers on our page. And so when you're boosting post you're not really reaching a lot of people so we've been able to create what we're coining as the light campaign essentially within your campaign settings when you're setting up a campaign you can say. Hey I wanna pay for likes now. This isn't the old days of just willy. Nilly paying for anybody to like your campaign definitely focused. You're targeting a little bit. Try to focus on certainly people in your area preferably people that are interested in furniture things of this nature and then the third component of this. Excuse me is doing just kind of different type of posts a never really recommend the sale post while I appreciate your having twenty percent off store-wide this weekend You GotTa think about the experience on facebook I mean. Generally speaking people are flipping through their phones of their ipads. You catching up on the new Graham baby or finding out who just got married this weekend and to essentially interrupt that feed with sales sales. Say Oh yes you will get your point across sure I just don't know if you're going to get the reaction that you would prefer you know for me. I would rather provide information. That is helpful whether it's you know. Maybe it's national cookie. Day For instance and you put up opposing. Hey we just got you know four dozen cookies from local bakery and and make sure to tag their facebook page within that post and invite people out to come and get a free cookie whether they buy something or not is of relevant to to the setup it does get people out there it. Lets people kind of see where you're at see what your show rooms about. And even if they're not imposition right now to buy products from you it gets gets you in the door as far as top of mine when they are ready to buy furniture you furniture is as we know somewhat an impulse buy. I mean I know that are definitely people that plan months in advance by him their furniture but most people you know they wake up one day and they look at their couch and they're like are the last tear from my cats. I'm done and they go out and buy a new couch and so at that point how. How do you beat your competition? Will certainly you can beat them from search perspective if you rank in the top three when someone searching furniture store near me but you could probably even cut that out by having people acknowledge your presence and then just saying okay. I don't remember the actual address of that retailer. But I remember the B. Taylor's name and then they can do a retailer name plus their city and find you directly. And here's the best part most of the time it's just GonNa be you on that search. There's not going to be any you know rich snippets to pull people away. There's not going to be a lot of paid advertising to pull people way is just going to be you front and center and if you WanNa take anything away from this I do believe twenty. Twenty is certainly the year of brand strengthening. It's going to be more immoral important. Now that people are searching for your brand in your brand alone rather than generic furniture store search. Those are still useful. They still are applicable but growing. Your brand is way more important.
