"Boy, did international delight get a a lot of free publicity from Bryce that day. They did reach out to him. I think they were going to send him some coffee, Creamer. But I've seen the listeners tweeting out pictures of that southern pecan international to light Creamer. Let's say Nicole, and I had breakfast. The other day we went to took Nicole to a real classy place to Denny's for breakfast. And they did have a bunch of the international delight little Cremers on the table. I had Hazel nut and it was delicious. So. Good stuff careful in your workplace, though because your co workers are trying to if you work with Bright's, especially you're going to drink your Creamer in the coffee club. So that was in December. And we don't normally have a ton of stuff from December. I feel like that you guys just hurt it mostly. But I think that this might be a record in terms of the turnaround time from when we have the best of the year to win a clip has aired on the podcast. But sometimes, you know, when something is going to be an instant classic. And that is something that happened most recently during our survivor exit interviews, and now it's possible that maybe people listening to this. And they did not listen to my interviews with the survivor final six, but I had the opportunity to speak with this survivor seasons runner up director writer. Actor renaissance man, Mr. Mike white about his run on survivor. But he was here to bring me some constructive criticism about my coverage of him on the podcasts. And we'll listen to a little bit of that. From my interviews with the final six on December twentieth. Twenty eighteen here on Rob's podcasts. Hey, mike. How are you? Good morning morning. Mike. How you doing today hung over? Which is worse today or the day after you were looking for the idol after drinking the wine last night. I didn't get on over out during the line. I don't know. I feel we're today. Okay. Mic after this whole experience for a job well done on thirty nine days making it all the way to the end ultimately second place. Was it a disappointment to get so close? But then ultimately come up short. I don't wanna talk about this. No, rob. Here's your yes. Okay. Please go go on find. So many people are saying finally somebody is talking about what they wanna hear about. Okay. So this is my this is my beef with you. Okay. So first of all we met you would be about right? Guess. Okay. And to like when I on my CBS bio they said who you gonna play the game. Like, I say, you do you know that? Yes. Okay. So you know this. I'm like thinking like, you know, checking on your podcast, airing it as like like, okay? Well, he's gonna like, you know, I'm already like, you know, giving unto Caesar what is Caesar's by you just the very first time. It was like, oh like it was my like, I with my like bio photo was like we were like, whoa. Oh my God. This. This is not gonna be headshot. I actually went back the photo. Like, oh, this is about now. This is just what I look like. So I start there. And I was like, okay. I I thought that the sun was in your photo. But then at the beginning, you're like, he's photos of you. Now, did it's just me. And actually, I went to CVS funny. I was like, oh, I guess my photos about like, I don't know. And then like they're like relief. That's the best photo. Like showed me on the phone like, oh, yeah. "Okay. All right. Well, if there are any women listeners out there that want to get onto the survivor softball team is this insulin town. We have some sort of women's softball team. Who do they play? Is it the women's softball team in slam town within the slammer? So it's kind of like longest yard type thing. We were going to bring the outside the fight, the inmates. I mean, if they hit a home run with the basis loaded, is that sort of one of the most popular things that you could see in slam down? It goes over the slam town slammers. It goes over the barbed wire wall. Nobody can get a ball back. The game is over from, yeah. Okay. You need a couple of packs of cigarettes again, new baseball girl. All right. So looking forward to watching these slam town slammers aging, an NBA jam when he's on fire and you shoot, the ball would be on fire when napalm Natalie who hitches is just got this, rip Rory's she, the picture is she is. She's the pitcher on the slam, town's lawyer know Lauren. Can throw. So she's definitely in centerfield. She's in centerfield. Yes. In rocks she's talking the rock and Centerville. All right. This was something that was said in the episode by Mr. Mike white, that a lot of people had some questions about. I'm going to start here with Brent the shower man. Had a question about a Mike white quote from this episode here is BT SM, hey, Tyler in rob. This is Brent shower, man. Do your three episodes. We've heard Mike white, say some interesting lines and confessionals he was hoisted by his own petard in episode, one, Hamlin, and this week he talked about walking down the primrose path. Also. Hamlet, thanks to Google. I found out that both of these quotes are actually from hamlet. You only do you think that will see him drop more of these literature bombs throughout season. And do you think that he'll stick with hamlet or eventually move onto other works by William Shakespeare? Thanks, bye. Okay. All right. So what are you. Think is, is he just going to give us a hamlet per episode? Well, he's two for three. Yeah, that was some of the might get cut. They might observation I had as well. I, I think this is part of a if you've got a really great nickname. If you got really good take, you're going to be on TV. I think this is Mike, but he's also a writer. So it's kind of cute. Little cheeky thing to sort of core indivisible is personality a little bit. Mike white. Keep doing you man. I have another question for you Tyler of out the primrose path, and let's bring in our good friend miles. Ni- with a question, I Robin Tyler. This is miles. I'm calling from Truckee California today. So I don't have my dictionary of American playing with me. But if I recall correctly, taking someone down the primrose path is an expression that means to trick them. It's like taking them on a wild goose chase. When Mike says, he's not sure wants to take Jeremy down the primrose path. Is he using some other meaning like hoist with his own petard that you need? He's not ready to walk down the aisle with Jeremy is primrose path and allusion to Cadmus. Every gene sister from the hunger games. Thank you, goodbye. Okay. So Tyler maya's has a question of did Mike white use the term primrose path incorrectly? Okay. Let me play you the sound bite from the episode and then we can talk about that. Hear me the more you get to know him. You realize there's a real person of depth there who has seen a lot and done a lot. But I think Jeremy being like a little sneak and finding idols and people's jackets. It just makes him look. He'll do anything for the money. So I'm kind of afraid to go down the primrose path of Jeremy. I'm just a little frayed that he's going to be as own worst enemy down the line, and I don't wanna be taken down with Jeremy. Okay. He is afraid to go down the primrose path with Germany and according to my Google. Well, what do you think you use it correctly? I think he did. Okay. So according to Google, the primrose path, the pursuit of pleasure, especially when it seems to bring disastrous consequences..

"Glenn Beck. The one the only Mr. Mike Rowe is joining us in about thirty five minutes. We also have Cal Turner on and. And he's just put a new book out. My father's business. He's the guy who created all the Dollar General stores and a fascinating a fascinating tale and a great story for entrepreneurs. And the American spirit he's coming on in just a little while. Also, I need to tell you about the Facebook and Twitter bands that are happening. This is increasing in frequency and. I am growing very concerned that your voice is going to be snuffed out. Our voice is going to be snuffed out. We will not be able to communicate truth with one another. And I need to address this with you because it is deeply deeply concerning when you can't say illegal alien without being banned on Twitter or deleted on Twitter because you've used the hate speech illegal alien. We have a problem when when nor McDonald was kicked off of the tonight show because he said, you know. Louis C, K and Roseanne. They did bad things. And they paid a heavy price. But you know, when does this end for them? And when he's kicked off for asking that question. We're in a different America. We are in America that I don't recognize and truly is becoming frightening. So I wanna talk to you about that later on in the broadcast today..

"Las Vegas. All right. Welcome back to the Vegas. Take. Thanks for joining us sharpen Shapiro. Brought to you by the way, your final reminder tomorrow. We will have Mr. Mike Babcock from TMZ sports joining us also mister Johnny cash's from the review journal, what is going on in Vegas this week and you'll be in studio tomorrow as well. We're gonna get to this com. Capra next up because it's just getting better and better LeBron James made some comments we've got the national association of police organizations, not happy with Colin Kaepernick. We'll get to that coming up here in a few minutes. But joining us right now on the line. He is the owner of sports handle he knows what goes on not just in Las Vegas when it comes to sports gambling. But throughout the country that is Brett smiley bread. I appreciate coming on. How are you? What you guys I'm doing? Well, yourself doing great doing great and pretty excited because we got the NFL kicking off of course, regular season tomorrow. And I was talking to JD a little bit off the air. And he said, Brian, you're not gonna believe the action. Some of these some of these books are taking can you can you give us a kind of an estimate of what is gone on? And are you surprised at the numbers with some of these new sports books some of the action that they're taking not just college football? But in the NFL. Yeah. And we really haven't even gone a true sensitive with just just a preseason and different states are. At different levels, for example, just this past week West Virginia at one of its five casinos begin taking wagers Mississippi. But a month. Now, I don't mean to hedge not answer. Shorter answer is it's it's it's been pretty substantial number so far. And I think it's only going to increase substantially. I think the most telling number will be. You know, the first month in the first month of football New Jersey September which we won't learn for another few weeks New Jersey in the month of August off the top of my head. I think the total handle was about. Forty point six million. And that was just with only about four casinos in read in retail. Wow. And nothing online, right? Yeah. At that time, it was it was purely retail Simpson today on on football eve, which should be a holiday. I agree. Yeah. Now about five sports have gone digital of them, Android only. But it's happening, and you know, slowly. But surely, we're gonna find out how big this market is a bread JD here. Read an article today that estimated that New Jersey would take over Vegas by two thousand twenty one as a sports betting market. What are your thoughts on that? I think it's it's audible, I think if if I were betting we're talking Betty, and I I would bet on it just because the, you know, the population here how closely situated to New York and New Jersey and New Jersey and her New York, and Pennsylvania, but we'll see what happened in those two states. But you know, the average household income hears about seventy two thousand it's pretty darn high nationwide. And. It's just a a very serious appetite that that wouldn't shock me Nevada's five hundred five hundred. I'm sorry. How five billion a year? I maybe takes two three years until you know, more mobile. Available. But I think it could get there for sure. Wow. That's crazy. You know what I think it is Chris Christie. He's just going easiest gonna continue going to the books and those nails money breath. I think that's what's happening in New Jersey. Yeah. Go ahead JT. And then a Mississippi. Which apparently Mississippi Alabama have the most illegal illegal action per capita in the country, which does not shock me. I was in the south this last weekend. And it's it's just unbelievable how how aggressively loyal these fans are down there. They all have their their polo shirts on with like, Tennessee or Florida or Bama or whatever it is Mississippi just in person did about five hundred twenty four bits per hour on Saturday for college football. Yeah. That doesn't surprise me. I know there. I don't know to what extent that they're taking advantage of that out loyalty. From what I read it. He ESPN article by David Purdham, the the house kept about twenty two percent. So I don't I mean, I don't know. But the novelty of it people just wanting to be there. I don't know if they're saving their tickets or whatever. But at some point, well, there's gotta be somebody or some groups taking advantage of that. So Brett when when you go to some of these books in Mississippi, obviously, I have not do they have like sports betting apps on their phone. Can you actually do that in Mississippi? Do they have in game? Wagering heavy heavy established those yet. Well, I haven't been to the I haven't visited the ones in in Mississippi yet. But the way the way it's set up right now is the sports are permitted to to have mobile wagering. But only on premises which really is kind of defeats the purpose, though, doesn't it? Yeah. It's it's silly. So because of that right now, they're just prioritizing getting retail operations off without a hitch. And I think about half of the have their largely concentrated in the lucky and and tunica not far from Memphis input. Waging some of them have integrated degraded. But again, this isn't it it's retail. So maybe those options are more limited. But I think in Mississippi and some other states are just wanting to focusing on getting the operation behind the counter. Right. And then we'll be branching out further. Brad. So all encompassing question. You're we'll say an amateur market where we've got thirty or forty states with legalized sports betting, assuming that Chuck Schumer gets his hands and everything like he wants to like you tried to last week. Is this a trillion dollar a year market nationally? Well, the. I think so you don't have five six years. Not surprised naming the estimates. Have been all over the place de AGA estimates there's about one hundred fifty billion dollars wagered illegally every year. I've seen another estimate that was in national study four hundred billion nobody really knows because all the legal operators and offshore other jurisdictions aren't reporting, but anywhere we're seeing the appetite. Now, I think fantasy football only helps now there's going to be you know, FOX is doing a show and Sports Illustrated has their own vertical. So I think it's a stigma go Dan goes down and handle is going to go up. So I think you'd probably about even money in about five six years that it will be a trillion. You know, I have to mention this. Because Brett you just talked about fantasy football. And I'm watching the US open the other day, and this guy who's not even top two hundred in the world millman beats Roger Federer. I think he was like a twelve to one long shot to beat Roger Federer and then right after right after he wins the match he's doing a post game interview. And he says, yeah, I wanna get to bed because I have to wake up. At seven o'clock in the morning because I have a fantasy football draft. Did you ever think ten or fifteen years ago that you would get to a point where professional athlete right after one of the biggest upsets in tennis history would talk about gambling, and he has to wake up in eight hours to gamble. I mean, it's crazy, isn't it? Yeah. It's really it's really penetrated mainstream. I mean, nobody blinks at fantasy your March madness anymore. And I think as as each state as new Bill that's kind of a road. Then maybe our kids will will. Will realize that we all grew up in a time when it was legal Elliott's outside of Nevada. So back to Chuck Schumer. He's talking about creating a federal regulated framework. Do you agree with that? Or not. No, I think it's the the attempt at at blocking at the state level was not only ineffectual but unconstitutional, and at this point there's already Nevada has been doing fine without any federal intervention. An excise tax. And now six other states have passed laws and probably next year a dozen more. And I think it should be the each up to their own determination, how they want to spend on how they want to have their Jamie commissions, responsible. I mean, they're all established conditions in each state. And they have those relationships. I don't think we need a one-size-fits-all with congressman who have no idea what they're talking about. And not really willing to do the research stepping into this spray. Right. Each state's definitely different. You know, what I think that a state like California or a state like Texas could legitimately do two hundred billion dollars a year. Do you agree with that? California fifty five million people. That wouldn't shock me. I mean, really, no, none of these numbers, which I mean, that's gonna be when California eventually turns. Maybe that's not till twenty one to twenty two. I mean that could go crazy. It's just gonna be interesting to see at that point. What type of what is evolved and the other states, and and how they're just going to handle. Is here with all the. Poker rooms and a lot of the tribal interests racetracks to decide their. Yeah. Well, Brett last question for you. Tell us a little bit about sports for people that are unaware that. Maybe haven't checked it out. Give us a rundown on what sports handles all about. Yes. Yeah. It's worth handle dot com. Twitter at sports underscore handle portal for all things. Sports betting. You know, we've kind of covered the gamut here from industry to. To legislative. I'm the big NFL better. There'll be some content. We have a couple of podcasts. Check out the website tomorrow, you'll you'll see those kind of your one stop shop portal for information little bit handicapping a lot of legislation some other perspectives and resources to helping mixer smarter bats well Brett since you are an NFL guide question. You can you give us any free picks for the game tomorrow or what? Tomorrow. I I'd say. You know, I liked Atlanta when they were still getting three from what I've seen that's down to about one. Yeah. So if you're a falcons, backer went to force it, but I don't know if you're leading eagles. I mean that was probably the time to buy. I don't know if it gets to pick him, but. Yeah. I think it'd be falcons at three or pass at this point. Yeah. All right. My man. Brent? I appreciate you coming on as always we'll have you on again, hopefully soon, thanks so much. Good luck. With your bats. There you go Brett smiley with sports handle the CEO of sports handle. And formerly of Fox Sports as well. He knows what's going on. When you ask him that question. Do you think it can be two billion dollar business in California? You said, yeah. I don't see why not two hundred billion that the two hundred to two hundred. I'm sorry. Two hundred spoke there. Yeah. I mean, that's just and he's right. He he says one that wouldn't surprise me five million people got it just I don't think people truly grasp or understand how big this is already. Nobody gets it. Eventually you'll be able to go to an airport and make wagers. On the team for the city that you're traveling to at those airports kiosks at trucker stops and gas stations and malls hotels. It's going to be just totally out of control. Not good for degenerate like myself, not not good. It's going to be like where can I buy a water? That's what it's gonna be like, oh, there's a gas station right there. Oh, let's place about where can I buy a water? There's gonna be a gaming dispensaries where you can place bets. Kiosks everywhere. It's like I said it's gonna be like where can I buy a water or where can I find a drinking fountain that that's what sports betting is going to be like throughout the country and five years. I have no doubt in. I like how he how he referred to wolf. It's at one it might be a good by kind of like its stock. He was talking about like it was a stock which is great like the wage refund. Exact well, if you haven't already heard JD, Colin kaepernick's, kind of been in the news recently for the last year and a half and for the last few weeks. It's kind of never heard of the garden. It's kind of been brought up. Again, he was his quarterback for Nevada Reno he wants some games there. And then he he made it to a Super Bowl, and then his career just just plummeted to the you know, where but Nike is now doubling down. I guess you could say this capital campaign. They just released a brand new. I don't know if you saw it. It's a brand new two minute commercial.
