"And come the end of the season. Kinda connect the sec. Was new twelve team. Playoffs is the best of the three divisions you get a by the two division winners play each other and they get the right to play the best one in the sec championship. County your first round of your playoffs and then you're semi-final but i notice there's somebody missing and that's mandy but i think this is a huge opportunity for the folks that vandy and i don't know about you but i was really pleased with carter lay at the. Sec media days a couple of weeks ago and his boss and his boss candice they're both former vanderbilt athletes their leadership roles and i find ni- they're both on apologetic about what they expect from vanderbilt student athletes to be able to compete with a high level both academically and athletically. So i figured if those folks started making some phone calls across the country to their peer institutions and say we think that we have a unique opportunity created conference that attract some of the finest students at athletes in the country in the world and if we join forces to compete against each other on the field in the classroom and they start out west they pick up the phone they talked to the folks at stanford maybe cal berkeley and ucla. They go to north western. Talk to the folks there. And maybe deep georgia tech virginia and they have to have a mad of course the in the division so they talked to rutgers which solves some of the problems in the jersey between academic to that lennox piscataway. They've put together a pretty unique division of highest student athletes and academics. And then that a little cachet. There's one other school they wanna call up and you'd be an and see if the golden and say you know we're power conference. We put the irish at the top of it and the other things those schools they all arrive with high end. Rivals the big in the country. And say don't lose your rival bandy. Hold onto tennessee. Georgia tech georgia virginia virginia tech duke. North carolina north western michigan. Usc ucla keeps those schedules entertaining connected to the rest of college. Football league and kind of says we wouldn't do it differently but we still want to compete with the best. Might make exciting new conference. What do you think. Yeah i tell you. What i i admire your your attitude your positively even in spite of all the negativity about how college football have sold out. So i sent a little idealism in your voice which i admire realistically. Almost none of what you said is going to come to fruition. But it's a great concept darryl is up next in florida. hello darryl. you're on the air. Go right ahead. Hey paul they should taken the call. Thank you I just wanted to ask eidos ron. And how has this year with them. Going five and five last year and maybe on the brink of seven and five this year. Well i think last year is going to be considered an outlier and not particularly important as long as he has a good season this year. But if eto on goes for seven and five this year. I think almost every. Lsu fan knows what's going to happen. Yeah i agree. Who do you think would be in the works for them. If they are behind the scenes. You know squat. Scott woodward talking about future candidates who would you think daryl. I don't have anyone of because. I don't think we're anywhere close to that happening. Just just let me Remind you of what barrett solely sit here exactly. Twenty four hours ago he likes. Lsu not only to have big year beat alabama. Go eleven and one so if that happens then what you laid out Is not going to happen then. Scott woodward can have a restful afternoon or fall. Let's check out jason who was in pennsylvania. Hello jason go right ahead paul. Thanks for taking my call. Thank you yeah questions. You one with the big twelve texas and oklahoma. Going be sec. Do you think that's gonna make some of those interconference games less marquee. Now as opposed to like texas and alabama played. Imagine pilots big game. But now they're playing every season that loose luster. Well first of all. I don't think they will play every season. If again none of us know where will it will land. I think we all you can do in a situation like this. Try to gauge. Where where the mind where the mindset is at that moment time right now the mindset would be that you would not see alabama and texas play every year. They would not be permanent rivals so you would see that game for two years and it would go away for a couple of years and come back so. I don't think we're going to have to worry about that. But but i i will say this. I think anytime alabama and texas or oklahoma and georgia or any of these type of Cross cross country rivalries happen. They will be big event in the sec herald is up next in atlanta. Hello harold good afternoon. Mr fane bomb. Thank you for taking my call before. I make my point. I was waiting to talk with you when the gentleman with parkinson's family problem and i realized just how far that i am. I'll be ninety five next month of a world war two veteran i I have called you two or times before And i have an alignment that i would like to discuss with you on the new south east well herald first of all. Thank you for calling. I must confess somebody putting when i looked down. Your name is there and it had ninety five by your name. I thought you were the class of ninety five. I didn't realize you were ninety five. So so what class were you. What year did you get fifty at lsu. Do that I i could i could. I will not take up all your time by you questions but That must've take your dad was in the navy and world war two wasn't he. He was He was in the philippines which you were going on an aircraft carrier in the south pacific. The last Of that war. So i i didn't go in until nineteen forty four so i was on the end. Two years and I just got into the last of the okinawa campaign ryan So But i i. But i take. The southeast conference has a wonderful chance to make a true west and a true east. Okay with the addition of texas and oklahoma. And all that have to do is move missouri into the west and alabama and auburn into the east. Now people say oh that didn't make to east way way too strong. The west has been way stronger than the east the last twelve years but for top teams then and as we look at it. Now it would be alabama auburn florida and georgia in the east in the west. You'd have texas oklahoma texas a. And m. and hope play ball. Lsu that doesn't mean other teams could come along. The east might be slightly stronger than the west. But if you leave alabama whichever d- you pick texas or oklahoma to stay in the west. That is going to make the west even more straw strength than than than east because i feel texas where this money with its backing. The people may hate him. But i promise you. They've got a coach now and they will recruit with a new move to the east more effectively. Ad-advantageous lay that oklahoma. Will there be boys in texas anxious to go to texas..

"App download. Now gentry from tennessee. And we'll see you in a couple of days or a week or so. Appreciate you being here up against a break. Eight five five to four to seventy eight five. We are back with much much more listening to the paul finebaum. Show podcast. what we're back here in more of your phone calls. We have a bit a busy busy guest list so we haven't had a lot of time so eight five five two four two seven. Two eight five is the number. Let's get back to the calls and we check in with chris who is up next. Hey chris ball. How're you doing today. We are doing great appreciate it. I had a question for you You know it looks like a lot of god's or sawn and small dill's i'd say small local deals you know vo next recently saw with milos and What point will we start seeing these guy john on big contracts. I've win. Will they build to be advertised. Figure for nike under armour. Like at what point will that happen and real that then star. Really putting motivation and goss mind to say. Hey i want to build a brand for myself. So let's go to the school. That helped me build a brand and get that nike deal or that under armor deal or that donald stew. I i think what we've seen for the most part. So far is fairly small. And i know I've looked at a list of alabama auburn players couple of other ones and it's primarily social media. There's a couple of other things in there that the company is you're doing but yeah i do think you're going to. You're going to see big money deals. At some point we we have heard that the big companies are waiting there trying to trying to sort this out because this this thing did happen pretty quickly and any any big corporation does not make financial decisions overnight right that makes sense because i mean i'm just thinking like this year in college football i mean it's kind of a question mark. There's a lot of big name to left last year. And so but imagine you know what kind of deal. Trevor lawrence's of the world and the to christie you imagine no a player I mean going back a couple of years. I mean we've seen a couple of guys. Come out of nowhere and win the heisman. Johnny johnny manziel being one. And you know what happens to that superstar that the guy you've never heard of. He has a huge game on the first weekend and then becomes a major celebrity. Those are the ones you have to keep your eye on. Yeah absolutely because those guys. I mean you're talking about one. Big game can change make you can make some life changing money absolutely having a few good games and then how is that gonna affect players. Because i i mean. I've heard intelligent people. We just heard one. We've heard others earlier who have completely different views on this. And i think. I think the sec media days is going to be a four day event. On n i l. I think you're going to get coaches opining now. Remember these coaches may not be telling you what they really think. Because i don't think the coach can get up there and can afford to come out and be critical event. I l there's too much on the line right now. There's a players right now with social media. I mean they are all over the place. I just saw a player tweet. Something about a particular schools view of of marijuana and a player ended up leaving school. Recently i'm not going to get too deep into the weeds here pretty well known player and we talked about it and i'm assuming it had something to do with the drug policy and then another player just tweeted out If you smoke weed you don't need to be going to this particular school Now think about that. I mean this is not nineteen sixty five where you go to jail if you get caught with marijuana and by the way the got the tweet was immediately taken down. But that's that's not the point. I it's a it's a serious situation and you're going to see a lot of Conversation on on that front. So keep your eyes on this story. Let's let's check in with joe who was up next. Hey joe good afternoon. Joe you there. Well i don't hear joe. Maybe we'll try that in a minute. Let me try another call. How about bubba bubba. You're on the air go right ahead. Hello mr fane bomb said You know. I think that this is This an i. L. is just a reflection of the Society we live in where everyone is looking for something for nothing and it feels entitled to it. Now i'm not saying them boys that play. Football didn't shouldn't earn a little bit more money and have a little bit better life but you know the solution to that may be what the fellow down in miami did when he gave everybody on the varsity football team. Five hundred dollars. I think that an equitable way to to do this would be the schools to set up an amount that they're going to give their football players or their athletes A stipend for in everybody gets the same stipend and that would make imitable. Everybody and i. I understand where you're coming from but every player gets a stipend as it is. It's called the cost of attendance at couple of thousand dollars so that's already in the wash now. Universities don't have the don't have the ability to to make a unilateral decision here. These are this these laws the one in alabama where you with Involved in deals with the individual not the school so it's about the individuals and i know i'm just giving you the the by law. I'm not. I'm not saying. I agree because your point is a good one but you know that that that that that horses out of the barn already well. I just think that you know everybody's looking for a way to get something for nothing that they don't have now whether they're entitled to it or not. Well let me ask you a question though if you're if you're eighteen years old and you have a chance to make a couple of thousand dollars should you not take advantage of it in a heartbeat but does does one player who works his sandy l. Just as hard as another player would it. You know i. I worked for a big company. Somebody wants told me you're paid what they think you're worth nothing else really matters. Don't apologize for. Don't complain about it and in this case it's about whatever somebody wants to pay somebody else it's not about the team and therein lies the problem. According to many people. How about joe. Who was up next. Let's try you again. Joe yeah we hear you now. Yeah i i guess you had on earlier name and keep keep done. Yeah he's a. I mean he was making a lot of sets on what he said. Just like that What was his name terrance. The other parents more down to be like harbingers of bad news. You know you mentioned during the conversation. You mentioned nick sabin during the conversation right and he you you brought it up. Not him right. I mean that you know. I think You know saving is getting. You know getting on up there in age. And i think he's gonna take much for sabre into the set off and just walk out of there in a fit of rage. You know i agree. I mean listen. Nobody's adapted more to change in college athletics in the last twenty years in nick sabin. But this is different. This goes against everything All of his principles and he'll say the right thing because he he knows he's speaking to future recruits but how he deals with it as another story behind closed doors. I mean does he own a car dealership or something yes yes mercedes' eight probably get clearest to advertise for his car dealership right..

"That noise for that. The Sun Hardman is a beast. I like hard men. He just needs the opportunity. Kansas City's offense has a lot of different players involved but tyreek hill is injury prone even with last year like Nicole. Hardman was still getting opportunities at the deep ball. He's extremely boomer bust. He's not going to be a guy that you can rely on unless there are some injuries but if by weeks or certain injuries do occur he's absolutely serviceable and he is fast. You got mahomes throwing the ball downfield. He just needs paternity. I will pick opportunity like this in the tenth round all day. Yeah absolutely one hundred percent right. The only thing that would shy me away. He only had forty targets last year in a full sixteen games. So he's seeing the ball to win a half times per game so you hit it right on his boombox. He's GonNa win you weeks or Luzia weeks. Yup I think with you having mahomes. It's a it's a great pairing. You know if you don't have mahomes. He's not valuable to you as he can be. But again for your team is a perfect fit. I was on the clock next Mike Williams items out of the Los Angeles chargers still weird to say our AP Diego. I took William Syria with tyrod being the quarterback. I think that might still gets the downfield targets tyrod Kim by some time. He's GonNa Chuck The ball deep when he can and Mike Lives is going to be there deep threat. So I don't see his numbers being really that impacted compared to Philip rivers being there sobbing. Fauria by week's hot. Yeah definitely can nothing more than a bye week here. All right then picking up here in around eleven we had me picking Anthony Miller team win taking Michael Pittman junior out of Indianapolis and team Holler Taken Ryan. Tannehill definitely time to pick a quarterback here one of the talk a little bit about this because just to show you. You can get a serviceable quarterback in the eleventh round. Tannahill had a good year last year after Replace in Marietta laid twelve games. Tennessee does tend to be a run. First offense like Russell Wilson can get it done in a run. First offense offense. I think Tannahill Ken in again in a lot of leagues. He's GonNa be you know late round quarterback like this and you can definitely if you don't get mahomes or Lamar Jackson. You can get a guy like this and he'll be serviceable for. Yeah I think Tannahill. They have a good offense. They're going to score some points. And you're you're taking him this late at the trade off of the other star players. You're able to draft so he's got a safe floor so I think it definitely makes sense to go with the strategy like this and then comparing him to Russell. Wilson was a bit bold. But I get what you were trying to say and I do agree that you know. If you don't take one of the first quarterbacks take you on here and around eleven you cannot be disappointed with Ryan Tannehill move onto round twelve. We had team. Hi Sean Jeffrey team. Winning and Alexander Madison and I took John. Ross yeah I wanted to talk about Alexander. Madison here there is no reason why. Alexander Madison should be on the board and the twelfth around in that is solely for the fact that whoever draft Alvin Cook needs to prioritize getting Alexander Madison as a Hanke. I'm not big on handcuffs in general with the exception of a couple teams and a couple of players. If you're drafting running back in the first round who is injury prone you absolutely have to get the backup especially when there's a clear backup like Alexander Madison if there's a committee behind him not so much but Alexan- mass absolutely needs to be off the board to cook owners earlier all right so we're not going to go over the rest of our picks here We'll just pick a kickers defenses and just end of bench players who are taking random stabs at. How do you guys feel about your teams? I actually really really liked my team. Especially for this. Being the first mock. I normally don't take quarterback as early as I did but this draft actually panned out really really well and played into my favorite. I thought really impressed with my team. Taking three running backs first. Couple wide receivers. If I could have this team in all of my leagues I would be super happy. Can definitely take this kind of team to the championship. It's an average team ever dip Mr Fane boy chief. I never take a quarterback that early and I absolutely loved taking that Lamar that look at my team. I think my team is top notch. I absolutely think this is a championship team of championship. Team I do. What do you guys think about twitter aside? I think we've got another bet here due to all right. I got the perfect stakes for this. I don't want anymore saltine cracker so last night like a had this crazy dream here this out head this dream that like I posted a video of me. Dancing Bald Fat Guy Dance and no-shirt on bouncing all around sounds sounds terrible but it went viral. It got like five million views so here. Here's the terms of this bats. Twitter's GonNa vote. We're going to post each one of our teams on a pool and the losing to have to do a tick tock style video dancing. I absolutely hate that but but I am so confident my team. You're on good because none of have any rhythm no all twitter's GONNA regret. Were they picked on? It'd be really really funny to watch you guys do that is it. You're saying like a video together. Yeah the to the to the Joys Irs Joint Joint TIC TAC has to be something wild and crazy and actually hold on. This Bet. Just got a little bit more interesting. All what he got. The winner picks the video or song that they do so they picked the the dance. You're saying sure okay. All right. I'm into I like it. Yeah let's do it all right it's about we're gonNA need your help. This will be getting posted shortly. Opole screen shot of each of our teams simply vote on which team you think did the best in this mock draft twitter. I'm count on you go into for two. Let's do this. You're going to correct. You're on twitter all right. So that's going to wrap up our first mock draft of twenty twenty. Thank you so much for listening in today. And be on the lookout for our next episode What's that going to be Jake? So on an excerpts. I'll be going over the quarterback tight end rankings. Sounds like fun? I can't wait. "We're up against the break as we continue to trash Boston. More of your phone calls. The final thirty minutes. Go to Brad in South Carolina. Hello. Brad, you're on the air. Hey, paul. How you doing today? We're doing well. Thank you very much. That I heard Larry months since nine come up a couple of times earlier in the broadcast sport. A couple of memories for mammo lifelong South Carolina fan. So Bob Fulton's are the classic. Sure, but I thought a sparked a memory about Larry months. And in, if you hadn't had a chance that obviously, he's got some historic great calls. And they're usually, you know, great Georgia wins. But you know, as a South Carolina fan, I urge you to go listen to his nineteen Ninety-three call brand Bennett over the top to beat Georgia with two seconds left. It's a classic and I know Georgia fans aren't listen to it much because it was a loss form. But it's in my opinion. It's Larry wants that it's finest. I will do that. No. They're just a couple of broadcasters that, that you could listen to doing any game. And he was he was one of those and yeah. You, it's always interesting to listen to the broadcast do his team losing. Yeah. And that, that might be his best ever call or one of the best ever lost calls ever. I mean it's just it's just absolutely classic. Learnt Larry could be as big a fan as he was he could. He could be tough on his on his team though, too. Yeah. Isn't that one eight six just, you know, lay down you dogs lay down try, I will big one up. Thanks for this. I think you'll enjoy it. Thank you very much. Let's go to Alaska. We don't get too many calls from Alaska. How are you? Mr. Fane, value. We're doing great. How how what's the weather like in Alaska right now? Sixty six degrees on deck right now. Sounds nice. But yesterday, it was eighty degrees out there. Well, I'm on my way. You'd be welcome anytime. Thank you. The pleasure to speak with you. I read headed. Christian about Europe. They're interesting debate with young markup, and Boston. Yes. Just a just a point of clarification. And this is not a rhetorical question. It's so real question. I want you to clarify for me. What your position is okay? We happy to. When you talk about the tradition of college football. And the take the importance of team identity and all of that. And I am with you. One hundred percent. I grew up in Alabama fan and ten years old when bad by came to Alabama. You can imagine how steep did that tradition and that team identity? And then on the other hand. This. Individualistic view. Of the sport me me me me me. I call it. Where young people are always thinking of themselves and just putting themselves first. They're putting them themselves the head of the team, the individual Listrik view of the sport. Which I take it. You don't like. No. And I agree with you on that. I don't like that either. Now here's my point where I'm a little confused. Okay. You favor this transfer portal and everything then percents, I feel my argument losing right here. Go ahead, sir. And you can the freedom of athletes to move from one team to another well with things to me. This is Holly on the individualistic view of the sport. Okay. You have, by the way, you've laid out a very eloquent, an intellectual argument that, that does currently have me in a box. We'll try to I'll try to wiggle out of this, but I'm already greatly admiring the way. You've laid this out. It's worth in the same box. Yeah. Well, here's, here's how ways I think it's. Of your position. And let me move Mark aside because Mark took a contrarian view for someone his age, too. We, we should give him credit..

So American officials are blaming around for several attacks on shipping over there, obviously to explosives, cripple tankers one Japanese one, no region. I'm reading from column at the week dot com. The Iranians by the way, deny responsibility. So, at this point, it's an expensive bit of maritime vandalism not exactly an act of war. Some people would say going to war with Iran at this point would be disproportionate and wrong. Those are the words of Joel Mathis who's going to pop singers, the second, but first here is Adam Kinsey, Republican, congressman of Illinois. Any time that there is any kind of military personnel. You'd have to put the right force in place. One thousand troops is not an offense of posture. There's no expectation that they would go off. But the have those securing bases and secure in personnel is extremely important. So I do think it's the right move. And of course, we're talking about the deployment of additional military personnel to the Middle East. Congressman this will thought sir be very clear that we will not allow the streets over moves to be shut down that we do have the capability to prevent that we hope it doesn't go there, but that's really Iran's decision at this point, Joel. Mathis is a writer he spent nine years as indicated komo's coal right in the red blue America column. Joel welcome WLS. How are you, sir? Are you doing, sir? I'm doing well. So at this point, you would say we should keep our powder dry. And there's no reason to launch now against Iran. Correct. That's right. That's right. I you know, I think we all agree. That it is bad. Wrong happened has excellent shipping in the Gulf of Oman, Regan over lousy weeks. I don't think anybody disputes the there's a problem right now. But right now, the provocation is, is too small of the example I used to call him is. Let's say you walk out your front door one morning to find your car's been vandalized overnight. It still works for the tires are slashed, and flat. And you're you're right to be angry. Your rights, even see problems. They can for the crime extensive making pairs that would you seek the death penalty for the perpetrators. I think. I think that depends on what state you live. So in your column today, which I thought was an excellent column you an almost forgotten about this. But tell us about a towards the end of Reagan's second term nineteen eighty eight. There was a mine attack on an American military frigate. And we actually had injured sailors outta respond at that time. The response was overwhelming force, there was a frigate that had a huge hole blown it by the Iranians, ten sailors were injured of this ship. Barely avoided being sunk Cam, the response was that the United States basically, went to war in, in the Persian Gulf. I actually I understand it was the biggest surface engagement for the American navy since World War Two. And they did they pretty much destroyed Iran's navy. And now what you see here in the last few days, a Brad Stevens of the New York Times on particular was saying that's a good model. Let's go ahead. And if we see any more provocations along the lines of these beggars let's go ahead and just blowy runs navy out of the water. Your sources in the intelligence community. The fact that the Iranians were seen taking the unexploded mind off of that ship. Does that prove their guilty of putting the mine there? Well, you know, it's difficult to tell our leaders of learned anything from, like nearly two decades of never ending war in the Middle East. But I think one lesson Americans to be skeptical of government officials making the case for war. You know is Ron behind the tax, maybe I'll even say probably, but that one bit of bringing video which shows, you know, sailors, taking a mind off ship enough. Putting it on a ship. He just doesn't feel sufficient at this point. I don't think the government the people who wants to go to war against Iran. I don't think they've made it very good case. Or a sufficient case, it certainly hasn't convinced. Anybody in congress? It hasn't convinced anybody, any in Europe, who people whose shipping will be protected if we went to war on this is even like it's not entirely convinced. President Trump themselves even though he keeps making moves ratchet up the esscalation intentions, there, I think that if it was John Bolton's decision. We'd be we'd already be hot hot over there. I think that the president. We would have done that a decade or more ago, actually, I think his, he would say regime change is worth whatever the effort is to get it done. I don't I think honestly, Donald Trump, and I remember when he first launched his presidential campaign. He said, unlike Bush W Bush, I'm going to be judicious in the use of blood and treasure. My words, not his and to have John boldness, national security adviser until this presence seems to, like a lot of conflict in the White House. I think he kind of revels the net maybe thrives in that environment. But John Bolton doesn't seem very like minded to Donald Trump is far as overseas adventures. Well, it is easy would make jokes about trying to restrain Bolton as far as I understand. But the thing is Bolton keeps consolidating power. You saw that today, the acting Defense Secretary on step down for unrelated reasons, but the upshot of it is that John Bolton has increasing power and authority over national security decisions, including within the Pentagon reports. Say and there's a feeling that even though there are a lot there's a lot of skepticism about the case for war. Somehow, we still seem to be building toward it anyway. And I think one of the problems was it is, you know, keep going up. You see people preparing for war. You'll see anybody really making a strong effort to avoid, it may see skepticism about going to war, but nobody's out. They're actually saying, how do we start ratcheting down the tensions and said he is today, we said another thousand troops Ricans. That's not an act of trying to cool things down. That's an act of let's get ready to rumble. I still take the presence ain't going this president. I get the sensitives instinctively against doing something like that. Especially on the cusp of a reelection bid, which, of course, starts tonight at that rally. But I think two things he needs an easy economy to keep cooking. And he has to keep us, you know, he was against have canister and he was against Iraq. He didn't like Vietnam. That wasn't a very popular place as he said a couple of weeks ago where I can't remember exactly when, but I think instinctively, this guy does not want to commit a lot of troops, our effort in Iran, or in the Middle Eastern particular. You know, once he goes in, he's probably gonna go big, though. He does Donald Trump doesn't do anything by half makers as far as I can tell. And you know, it's, it's certainly if he has learned the lesson of, you know, going into war in the Middle East is, maybe not a great idea for the United States, then that's great. But boy, there's a lot of years, it seems to be pushing that way right now. And that's to be concerned, you know, one of the things that we know about Donald Trump is very often whoever he's talked to laugh. The person who has the most influence on whatever decision. He's made today. And so with John Bolton as at aside, as you say, you know, that's mainly dragging the president a little bit further towards more than most of us will be comfortable with. That's why you know armchair quarterback. So the worst. That's why a Mattis was so good when he was part of the administration. Joel Madison's here writes for the week dot com. One last question, you know what your with your connections to the intelligence community, and Pentagon? What do you make of Mr. Shanahan being drummed out of office? A secretary of defense Atkins secretary fence these, you know, this, this dustup with his then wife is, I think ten or eleven years old. And she was the one arrested at that time, rested in charge of domestic violence. And those are the dry. They were dropped those charges, but it's so far in the rear view mirror. I guess, just to the age we live in. Yeah. You know, it's I it's hard to know what to make of that. Kissed came out today. I would say like a tragedy for everybody concerns. And I you know, I. I'm not necessarily something sympathetic to Mr. Fane on a lot of fronts. But, you know, it sounds like the he, he made he made the best of, oh, horrific situation. And maybe didn't handle it entirely correctly. But this is probably this place. Another problem with the president is that you could argue that his vetting process for, for getting people pointed to see your positions drug governments has been less than stellar, and this may be another example of this is a problem they should have been caught long ago, rather than right on the cusp of, of the nomination. I think Mitch McConnell said that kind of in doublespeak earlier today. Joel night, speaking acquaintance. There will continue to read you at the week dot com. Appreciate your time. Thanks, a lot, sir. Take care here is the president speaking on the acting secretary of defense withdrawing his nomination essentially to be more than just acting. Who.

"The dog goes Dusko average some four hundred and fifty one points right now. It is surging. And there's a reason why supposedly stocks are surging climbing back from a big route in the past month after Federal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell signalled that the fan was open to easing monetary policy to save the economy and as trained tensions eased amid comments by the child calms and Mexico. So basically, what the fed is signaling here. Is that they're going to be flexible with interest rates, and they will not raise rates to choke off what they think, is too rapidly growing economy that they will lower rates. They will ease love these financial terms. They will ease pressure on this if needed. And this is exactly what the comms in Mexico. Need to hear they need to hear? I guarantee you, pardon parcel. These trade talks do not doubt me on this pardon parcel, trade talks going on between Trump, the tricalm's, and Mexicans. Is that the tricalm's in the Mexicans are both believing that Trump is an island of his country doesn't like him? And with the Democrats trying to throw him out of office, and the Republicans, not really doing much to stop it. I mean. That's not fair. The Republicans are pretty much letting Democrats own the new cycle at the Democrats are defining Trump and the Democrats are portraying Trump as alone and, and pretty much surrounded. And this is serving too shall we say encourage and strengthen? Other words if you are is using and you are the head CHAI contract on. Why should you make any kind of deal with Trump? If he's not gonna be around if his country doesn't want him if the leaders of the government don't wanna to do it. Trump, why should you make a deal with just be patient? And wait and whoever replaces Trump will not be the same kind of guy Trump be much more likely to cave to us. This is what the cons are hoping the Mexican same thing and you can't blame them. They read the news, they look at the news. They say the constant disparagement of Trump in the media, they see the never ending criticism and the slander and liable. And you couldn't blame them if if, if they think Trump's not long for the world. So why make it deal with him? Especially when the likelihood that whoever replaces Trump is not going to be nearly as hard line is going to be very ear to make a deal with us in the child comes will be able to go on as they have. Beating us to the tune of five hundred billion dollars a year with trade devas, and the Mexicans are gonna go on and be able to behave with doing nothing to stop illegal immigration. Not help us on the asylum question. And so the fed coming out and announcing that they will take whatever steps needed. To make sure that the United States remain strong economic. This is exactly what Jingping an open door in may. Go need to hear. They need to hear that Trump is essentially going to be. Supported, and that whatever economic fluctuations occur because of Trump's stance with those two countries are going to be backed up by the fed now. We'll see what actually happens, but the fed needs to demonstrate that it's not gonna put its thumb on economic scales. The way Lynch encomium Muller and others have put their thumbs on the scale of Justice. That, that just remains. Something that was completely totally outrageous. Just as important. This is what American voters need to see and hear after the massive abuses of power of Hillary, and Obama. We need to see the government, we paid for playing it straight after eight years of Obama. Well, in Trump's first term, people can be forgiven for expecting the worst. But why are you raising rates Mr. Fane, Chevron the Connie's not going that great? You have to slow down slow it down. That's not, especially in the. Current state of negotiations on trade with the child calms and the Mexicans? In the stronger Viet Cong. Of course, the more upstream Democrats have to swim in the twenty twenty election. I'll tell you this, this amounts to a refocus Washington being refocused on the on the on the Trump agenda, which is good for America. And it Trump has been crucial to seeing to it that this focus. Takes place got the focus reemerged, so we'll see if it holds. But this is this is actually good news. And I kinda cringe when the market reacts there, the market reacts that people experts make the market react in such ways. But I think this is probably legitimate, because interest rates are something that send them to the roof or through the floor. And this announcement is, is good all the way around because it inspires confidence for the for the long term. I wanna go back. To one of our original points discussion items, the first hour of the program, and that's Hillary Clinton. By the way, after the program today to be interviewing Devin newness for the next issue of the Limbaugh letter. And I want to run this new theory of mind by him that. Yeah. Mccabe, and call me and Clapper and Brennan, Elisabetta people. I really do believe now. That where we really need to look. Defined out everything that we wanna know about this is right, smack dab at Hillary Clinton every body. In this sordid tale is linked and tied back to Hillary Clinton, including Muller's lead negotiator lead investigator. Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier, which is all any of them ever had to get this counter intelligence investigation off the ground and so-called running, and it wasn't even ever. Really an investigation. Now, John Solomon is out with with another piece been doing great work, particularly to pass. Two three weeks. But I don't want to just say that he's been doing great work for years. His latest piece Hillary Clinton's Russia collusion. I know you the answers she does America. During the combined twenty years, Hillary Clinton served as a US, Senator, and secretary of state. Hillary Clinton's patrons regularly donated to her family charity when they had official business pending before her. Amen, bro. Clinton foundation Clinton global initiative. If you have any business with Hillary, you had to pony up. You had to put money into the foundation, which basically was just a ruse for them to pay themselves and pay other people that matter to them, salaries and bonuses, and travel expenses and all that. You had to pay for the when Hillary was running for president and you wanted her favors as president, if you're foreign leader or foreign individ- you had to pay up then and so plenty of people were donating the Hillary's charities in advance of her becoming president. The pattern of political, I. Oh, us paid to the Clinton foundation. Alone was so pernicious that the State Department even tried to execute a special agreement with that charity to avoid the overt appearance of pay to play policy. Still the money continued to flow by the millions of dollars into the Clinton charities from foreigners and Americans alike. Who were perceived to be indebted the Clinton machine or in need of its help? And Solomon says that it's time for the American public call in their own. I o u on political transparency. The reason. Never before until twenty sixteen had the apparatus of a US presidential candidate managed to sick, the weight of the FBI, and the US intelligence community on a rival nominee during an election never before. Not until twenty sixteen had one presidential candidate been able to employ the FBI the CIA the DIA the NSA. Am I five six? On a rival campaign, I e Trump and by using a foreign fed uncorroborated political opposition research document. That'd be the steel. But Clinton's campaign in concert with the democrat party and through their shared law firm, Perkins co funded Christopher steals unverified dossier, which it turns out falsely portrayed, Donald Trump is treasonous at colluding with Putin hijack the election steel went to the FBI to get an investigation started, then the leaked the existence of the investigation with a hope of sinking Trump's presidential aspirations. Just that just that on its face. Is one of the most devious political dirty tricks in American history. One of the most overt intrusions of a foreigner into a US election. Screw russia. How about steel you wanna talk about foreign intervention in election? Salomon's. Right. Christopher Steele, a British spy who went out and was fed phony items of intelligence, by Russian spies that were friends of his, and that's what made up the Steele dossier. Trump didn't do any of the collusion Hillary dead with steel. The foreign collusion was Hillary and still using the Russians. Solomon calls it the most devious political dirty trick in American history in appears, the Clinton machine knew that what it was doing was controversial. That's why did backflips to disguise, the operation from congress and the public. And at it's Federal Election Commission spending reports as well. Clinton and the Democratic National Committee used the law firm Perkins, call it a higher, Glenn Simpson's research firm. Fusion GPS, which then hired steal several layers, that obfuscated transparency, obvious gated Hillary Clinton, kept the operation off the campaigns public F, E C reports and gave the Clintons plausible deniability, none of this. None of this money shows up as any kind of a campaign contribution, or expense on the part of the Clinton campaign. And yet, that's exactly what it was. And never forget that the real first step in all of this, the, the, the thing that had to happen before any assault on Trump. Hillary Clinton had to be exonerated. You may think of course, rush. That's obvious. It isn't obvious to a lot of people. Lot of people think this thing, all started, because somebody really fought Trump colluding. And that's not what happened. Trump was never colluding. There was never any evidence for it. But Hillary Clinton was in heat big doodoo. She had violated the law numerous times for which other people are currently in jail for doing what she did. She had to be as the democrat nominee exonerated and the process that was used to exonerate her head to be covered up. That cover failed because we know what all went into exonerating Hillary Clinton. And then after she was exonerated till I v two thousand sixteen when Komi proclaimed her. Unprosecuted. Because there was any intent. She's off the hook then they're able to turn fire on Trump, even though they had been collecting data long before that. But it just refocuses the point that all of this really did start look. I'm not trying to bomb a pass because he and Hillary are linked here. But, but everybody of substance that was involved in this has a direct connection to Hillary Clinton and her campaign or her job is secretary of state. Not the intelligence community. There wasn't any Intel that was produced..

I mean, it's hard to do. I don't know if they can be covered. All there's a linebacker who can slow them down at least. But over the years have been different things. They could beat you deep downfield. They can beat you with the tight end. And now it's the combination of the two backs. That's what's dangerous for for New England. Jeff is in the car. What's up, Jeff? Hey, how you doing tonight? Pretty good. Jeff what's up? So I'll preface has a patriots fan by saying I'm gonna be fighting every corner of my pillow during that game tomorrow. I'm going to tell you why the patriots are going to win by seven, and it's not gonna be because of Casey suspect defense, it's not gonna be because of Mahomes playing the biggest game of his career so far. It's honestly it's going to be because of that potato Andy Reid forgetting how much time is on the clock and how many timeout yes. Go pats. Go have a good night. It's an interesting point. Jeff. Thank you. I was gonna say get the anti Andy Reid stuff. But I really don't any reads a great coach I would love for him to be the head coach of my team. I mean, you're just going to say because he didn't win a Super Bowl. And you know, didn't have the most success in the postseason still the amount of times he's gotten to the postseason the amount of success. He's had overall. I'd still take Gandhi read any day of the week. And I think it's one thing about this matchup that actually like not that he's ever going to be a favourite overbill bell, Jack. No one will be. Belgium's the greatest ever do it. But I think Andy Reid is a great head coach. And despite what many view as shortcomings managing the clock, and this and that I think he'll be fine tomorrow and more than Fine Gael to get the win. I think he's got the more talented team. He's got the home field advantage. And also think he's a terrific head coach. Now, certainly is not going to have an advantage over Belgium. There's a difference between a terrific head coach and the greatest head coach of all time. So that is an advantage for check. It's an advantage every time the patriots take the field. It's a large reasons why they've had so much success for as long as they have had. Because the ballot check everybody talks about Brady. I think it's large in part due to ballot. Check. Matter of fact, I don't think Brady is the greatest ever. I though Peyton Manning was a better quarterback. I love Aaron Rodgers was Aaron Rodgers is the most physically. Gifted? Physically athletically or athletic quarterback that I've ever seen in my life. Now is the best. No. But he's definitely the most physically gifted and most athletic quarterback that I've ever seen play the position, and he's one of the best I've ever seen. And I'm shocked only has one simple. Peyton Manning to me is the best pure quarterback that I've ever seen the best. Player of the position is that the way to say it just the way. He I mean the way he reads defenses and makes the throws. I mean, I've never seen. Somebody play the position the way Peyton Manning played the quarterback position. Now, it has evolved into, you know, more of a a dual threat position where guys gotta make plays with their legs. Obviously that's not Peyton Manning string. But as far as Rena defense throwing the football pure pocket passer pure quarterback Peyton Manning's the best. I've ever seen. So I put Rogers in one category manning and another and Tom Brady would be the greatest winning quarterback that I've ever seen. Not knocking him. But I don't think he's the greatest quarterback. I do think Bill Belichick. However is the greatest head coach that I've ever seen eight five five two one two four two two seven. It's Alcott on CBS sports radio. More your calls beside right now. The update here's.
