You know and my wife and i had a lot of a lot of fun times raising these kids and you know it takes a good woman to to back you and support you and moving around and work in every weekend. "Bywater farm dot com. I it's it's just a great thing. I mean we all have those kind of things now. There comes a point in your life where business equals who you are and we were talking. We'll talk some of the second hour about people that want to do their work for thirty plus years and then quit doing it and go be the real person. I like to be the real person while. I'm doing the work. Why do you have to go do something you hate for ten or fifteen years just to quote make enough money so you go do something you like. Why not just do something you like to the people i know business wise it. I don't know that many people in houston. I'll just put this way. That hate their job. I don't know that me and you know something. There's not a whole lot of glaring poverty there even in the places that are the rough neighborhoods. There is not. I don't believe there's a hell of a lot of poverty there. How can there be poverty in a city that pulls together like that to help each other. That's not poor. I don't care what's in your checking account. If you have friends or fellow people in your city that care you are not poor by definition. You're not poor however if you live in a neighborhood or someplace that the people don't care about each other would just as soon stab you in the back is anything that's not good quality alive. It would be interesting to see what the crime rate is like in houston i. I haven't always bad well then then. Where's the disconnect here because houston. Your talk is not a place where crime is bad. There were there's crime definitely there. You know it's not utopia. Yeah it's cry. they got crime. But there's a difference between crime and corruption. What is corruption corruption is when you've got a problem at the center of the whole deal. Corruption is what we have in our government. Starting at the top are federal government. And it's been in our state government for years texas. Let me put it this way. In kentucky the presence of the state and state government and government in general is always omnipresent. People walk around worried if they're doing something that's not sanctioned by the government in texas the intrusion of state and local government into the affairs of the private citizen is less well and one of the things that i have heard you talk about. Is that the lack of the state tax. They don't have a state income tax. And therefore your income is instantly boost. Couldn't believe how much money at took home back in nineteen eighty seven. The last year. I had a full taxable year down there that actually i got to keep in my paycheck. So where do they recoup that to to. They have variety of other user taxes. Florida state income tax either kentucky. Not only has a state income tax. It's got a local income tax and guess what neither one of those governments are really on fiscal firm footing. How is that they take away that much of your income and yet they're still a net borrowed position. I will say one thing that comes to mind is taxes take care of roads in houston gasoline taxes. Well whatever tack lane those. Those were the rowdiest roads. I've always been that way. You know why it is because the soil underneath. It is shifty it is. That's what i told you improbable place to put a town like you know how far they have to go down to put peers in for big buildings. A long way is that it's a sandy type. It's called gumbo. It's it's it's it's not really sandy. Clay ish it's it's just a shifty kind kinda soul i. It's a lower land area where you know. There's kinda swampy and you know another thing. Bet that i knew went on in houston but actually was more aware of at this time. Were the amount of buildings that come and go. They build buildings and tear buildings down like You know their constructive literally of sand. I mean they just say well. I mean if if it's a thing that isn't making money more you know. They tear down that po post oak center where we ate breakfast. That was all something else. There's a chinese restaurant in there. We also use to go to. It was kind of a little hole in the wall. There aren't that many hole in the wall places around the city anymore. Everything's been scaled. You don't have a lot of like eleanor shepherd you kinda do where we went to. La's barbecue we went out there. Hell that story. That's a great story so we went to this barbecue place. Call pisito la's but that wasn't the original guy to found it. It was a A black gentleman named john davis and what date did he found it. It was nineteen thirty five but his house was where he served the barbecue out of and his house was displaced by interstate. Ten going through. They're probably in the fifties or sixties. So he had to move to move south down on shepherd that's where he it was called shepherd barbecue. Mr davis was a bit of a reverse racist. He did not allow white people inside the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant was for black customers. Only and the whitehead to stand outside and they did so gladly. He produced a great product. Yes and he was well known throughout the city. Because there weren't that many barbecue restaurants back then there just weren't that many restaurants and his was extremely well. No mr davis did not trust banks so he took his money home and buried it in his yard jars. Local scoundrels figured it out robbed him beat him and he died. They killed him but.

"How would you evaluate what he's done this far. Yeah well i'll think i'll take it. I'll say this. I don't think john's on the hot seat. John john done kind of entrenched here for the time. Being because of his connection to the raiders. And it's connection to mr davis before before his son mark and how you know we all know that sometimes in different situation. Maybe you wouldn't. You wouldn't get the kind of leeway in terms of not being not making the playoffs that he's got all right so let's just be honest about that now. What am i expecting from this football team. What are the expectations for this football team. I think from from all of us who analyze it and really from from the rest of the people who are really watch pro football closely. They need to make the playoffs this year. They really do. Otherwise you're going to have people like the discussion is going to be like. How's he not being held accountable To degree that other people would if they had made the playoffs after four years of being at a place in heaven and having been given everything in terms of allowing to reshape the roster allocate the money however he wanted to allocate it. Pick whatever players that he wanted to pick up a brand new stadium all kinds of excitement around the football team. So i think yeah. They don't come out the gates hot tonight. Let's let let me say this in particular. I think often so please play great. I think they'll be twenty one twenty four twenty six point average per game type of offense. It's decent it's gus bradley. It's all these new players that they have on the defensive side of the ball jonathan. Gawk way it's nomex crosby. Who's been there. It's those kind of guys. it's denzel paramount. Who they just acquired. From the chargers it's k. j. right who Was with gus bradley and seattle. How're those guys gonna take this defense from being the kind that constantly blue lease a year ago to be in the kind of defense that can shut down when the game is on the line and get out of here with the. W because if they don't do that and it's another repeat of what it was last year we're gonna be talking about this over and over and over again with john. Like how many years can you be allowed to be. You know apart and not make it to the playoffs. Yeah we talk about. John being pushed out. Derek carr seems like you tell me this lewis because you you cover monday night football you've scouted you've seen it. Why am i the only fool on the bridge. Ready to dive into the east river for derek carr. Soon as i say their cars one of the top guys in the national football league. Everybody looks at me. Like i got frogs. Why is that. Hey don't worry. I'm i'm ready to dive in the river. Which is all right. I've always been a big fan of their car. Big because you know what when he came out of fresno he had this this reputation or whatever people tried to label him as a guy who couldn't handle the blitz caved under pressure has a good athletic ability but he doesn't make those special off schedule. Plays like see now. Some of the you know real good athletic quarterbacks making he can't make something out of nothing and you know i think that one thing right there keyshawn. There's something that they tried to. They tried to emphasize him saying this. We know taking care of supposed great and he does a great job that he does a great job of making decisions but sometimes just let it go man. Sometimes you're gonna have to just take a chance your barbara a shot will live with whatever happens but go ahead and do that to take your team to a whole another level because you know. He's one of the smartest quarterbacks. I would say of all the quarterbacks i've ever talked to. He's in the top three or four. As far as understanding this offense to the degree where john he said mcdonnell gives him four five different plays at a turn in the huddle and just say you pick the best one based on the look four five different ones and the and he says he knows exactly what he's supposed to do at all times. He said he could teach this offense the way john teaches this offense and he has great accuracy. Great arm strength and the as respected this team. But you know he's in the division. I was patrick mahomes. He's in a bid he's in. He's playing at a time. Now we're quarterbacks are putting up forty five hundred forty eight hundred types of passing yard seasons like it's like it's like was playing video games and they need to win. He knows that he needs to win. Balu he's he put up three straight four thousand yard seasons on the war. I don't know you're right around what we're up against it. We're up against it. And i don't know what you're doing here. Anyway go get the giants. Gm job police can fix the offensive line. It's killing lewis. Now come all my god. They were bad they man. Yes yesterday were yesterday. Were and i let me see you. Get them into the job now in year four. I wonder if louis riddick was in year four of the giants. Gm job what What the offensive line for another day. People get all upset about that. That's a story for another day. I'm not talking about anything louis. Thank you for coming on the show. Thanks a lot little..

A lot of people have talked about this test that he needs to pass this year by as far as getting through the playoffs and all of that are to the playoffs. Excuse me when you put that into perspective. Like how much is the focus on. What comes out of gruden this year when you start with game. One here the ravens. I think i think it's a. It's a big big factor. I think it's justified that there's a lot of attention being paid to the improvement that this team needs to

"I'm just a yearns you now. Yeah yeah you know. You're not you grew like dynastic or emily dynastic football family. You're not like in. Uh shucks like your to fucking stem cells injected in your forehead. You're not an oss. Shucks guy. Yeah even in high school. I was like no not this now. He morton won a national championship. The next year i was like say it's not him. Yeah that's a comedy thing you ever knows for bullshit early on and you're like this guy is fucking phony as fuck. It just doesn't land jordan rewatching watching that the documentary that dropped from espn and during the quarantine. He everyone talks about him is that he's like a dick but also people mention that like he was so cutting and it was he's just that level of alpha that he's like a like he's so talented that he also has to dominate psychologically and comedic. -ly off the field off the court and fucking love that about him. I love if it was probably later in my comedy career when fully like i love a good dick a kid. Who's funny. yeah i like. There's something like like. I like but it's also it's like a take a musician where sometimes like i have friends. That are musicians. I like to watch them work. And then i have other friends that i don't wanna see what they do it. All around them is a nightmare. Because you know. And that's how i feel about dick heads. That are funny really funny. I do not want to be around him at all right right. I want to be caught in that fucking like gravitational pull but it is fun when he comes through. Mj's a great example because he's like he absolutely backs it up. You know what i mean. Well i can even say like he's like but i am the best and the hardest working. He's got like both of those candidates so he's almost allowed to be an asshole dairy to say something to this guy he's doing all the fuck he's putting it all on his show mean great team all around. Obviously but this dude is wildly capable. So i think he's allowed to bust your balls and make you gamble against them every once in a while and make you better at like the people that he picked where it was like. I think you saw people like they're hey really went after that guy and then you see like you see that guy be like really did but i really liked it and it made me push thing. I was also honored the He he was unrelenting a and made mile. I'm a male athlete in the nineties. So that means. I grew up trying to impress older. Men i look for. I look for validation from my dad from my coach from my teachers from my recruiters so having it from michael jordan is is worth it. I don't care that he slapped me in the face for everybody on the team. The i'm just having a for being honest to like there's way human beings are motivated are different and my out just kind of figured out like early on the if they could challenge me in some way or just come at me kinda aggressively. I'd be like fuck you. And then i would see. My coach coaches never figured that out. Because that's my dad's mentality. So that i reject but if you give a modem of support if you're like honestly gave you have the i think if you take this ball and you go to the right you got you. This is possibly a good play. And i'll be like you're right. It is thank you for supporting the by choices for the first time. Anyone papa i just. I understood that. I was always like why. Are you being so fucking nice to that guy watching out do unless somebody's main to me. You're like training and the jimmy i. Why did they treat him. So nice. three you know. Evolve coaches just nodding exactly mr davis exactly worthies ab skill angrily working out. Because he was nice to the other guy who plays catcher just those one day figured out a man. That's that works not doing it that it works. That's that was the damn..

"To gender right which is great and when i was reading about it it seems like they brought you in because you said hey look gonna work for free. It's an internship and they were like l. Sure come on in and i. I'm very quick to note guests I do realize the tremendous tremendous fortune. I had that. I was able to do an internship for no pay and i am extremely cognizant that note not. Everyone has the luxury of doing that now. The good news is today. Nowadays those internships pay a million years ago. When i did my insurance. They didn't pay. And i do recognize how lucky i was fortunate. I was that. I could do one for no pay. But i was in grad school. I heard all these other kids talking about these. Things called internships and externships. So i called the raiders The team had relocated to los angeles the same year i graduated from college. The team had tried a few years earlier but been ordered back by the by. The court finally came down the year. I came down for grad. So i picked up the phone and i said i'd like to do an internship and they patched me through someone who said well what does that and i said. Well i'll work for you and you won't pay me. They said come on down. And that's how i started my career but again i recognized how fortunate i was to be able to do that. But the good news is that today. Those internships pay so. Did you when you went and did your internship for you in all the different areas or did you to stay in one area. Like because my son's in sport management he just graduated from delaware. He's interning at the hall of fame right now and he does marketing yeah. He's in the marketing he's in ticket. Sales like there's so many different things that are part of an organization. Like the raiders. What did you do as an intern. the right thing which is do as much as you can in every area that you can and learn as much as you can. I joined the organization as an intern in the legal department. But you know what. I went into the ticket office On on the day or so before a home game and helped alphabetized. The will call envelopes. And i went into the Scouting department and i helped them organize all the scouting material. I went to every department. And said how can i help. And that's another thing. I tell people. Yes it's important that you fulfil your primary responsibility but if you're part of a team roll up your sleeves and help your team mates. Don't sit there and talk about being a good teammate. If you're not rolling up your sleeves and helping everyone you can in every department you can. Let me tell you something that hunter telling you. I was going to be funny and say. Let me tell you something you know full. Well know if the left tackle can't get his job done if he needs some help walking his man the left guard is gonna slide over and say let me help you and you know it always interested me that people in the front office of an organization who wanted to talk so much about the importance of teamwork on the field of the left guard sliding over to help the left tackle left guard could handle both responsibilities of the safety helping the corner who was having trouble defending his man. We know what if that's what you expect teammates on the field. Why should it be any different in the front office. So you know if i could go into the ticket office and help them alphabetize ticket envelopes. Hey i was helping. I was being a good teammate. And be. I was learning about tickets so i think your son is doing the right thing and he should help in every department he can awesome. So do you think that because you were there like you started as an intern. And then they brought you back. They hired you. I don't know if it was one or two years later but then like you were there for like you said almost thirty years. How much of a benefit was that. Because you got the no. I'm sure you knew everybody in that organization. Because i think that's so special when you can walk down the halls and say hi so-and-so-and-so's you're saying instead of just saying hi. You know what i mean. I know what you mean. And i think it has all as you said you know. There's two sides to every coin. It was marvelous Just magnificent to be there. As long as i was i will forever cherish the memories but the flip side of that is i grew up on the job. So you know. I started as an intern. When i was in the early part of my twenties and i joined full-time and sort of the mid part of my twenties Not only grew up on. I not only grew up within the job. I grew up on the job. Not only in a job sense but in a growing up sense. So you know i wouldn't. I would just say this all of my mistakes. That i made and i made a lot of mistakes. They were with me. Those whole thirty years and i wouldn't trade it for anything but growing up on a job is Is a challenge. Because you're living with those mistakes you made from day one and the one person who it might surprise many people to know was the most understanding of making mistakes and my growing up on the job was out right. Yeah that's what i figured is that he kinda i. I think that with mr davis was just about you under you. Know he let you kind of expand and grow and and he trusted you. That's what it sounded like. He really trusted you. You were the one out you know up during the night and learning and doing all these things in let him sleep through the night you know. That's correct what if well you're absolutely right He did trust me and the biggest misconception about him is that you couldn't disagree with him. If that was true. I'd have been fired. Two two and a half weeks into my job because he walked into a room. I was sitting with someone he lit into that guy. Like i can only imagine a philosopher. Raptor would rip into And after a period of time. I realized he was wrong. So i said excuse me. You're wrong and i don't have a dainty voice at all at every And he look. I will never forget the look on his face when he turned around and looked at me. Like what and i said you're wrong. And he raised his voice. And i raised my voice and i said look if the facts on what you are. Basing your conclusion were accurate it would be a fair conclusion. But you're basing your conclusion on inaccurate data and we had a huge argument and ultimately after going back and forth for quite a period of time loudly to the point that everyone in the organization gathered outside the office to listen to us and one woman got boxes. Because she figured. I'd have to pack looking at me said okay. I gotcha i gotcha. And we went on. And i will tell you guess. We disagreed more than we agreed over the thirty years i was with him or almost thirty years and that was fine with him which which is awesome that is that the way to go in and what of what organization that you know he built and then you've got to sit right along and help them build it. I mean i know that you were more on the executive side. The nfl side dealing with all the day to day stuff more than the players side. But i play with so many guys. That came from the raiders. One of my really good friends when i was with the redskins past danny turkey. I don't know if you remember danny. of course. of course. I will say i never called him danny but i i remember that was just for you right. Yeah oh yeah yeah we. We had so much fun. It was really savvy when he passed but like oh man just to what an organization. What a place and You've seen it grow now to where it's in vegas and how do you feel. How'd you feel about it. "Much to the chagrin of bill davis. We don't have You know oil wells. We don't have natural gas not in any large amounts and that our leverage from that standpoint or economic levers are are very limited. I wonder if you were angry at mr. He's obvious swipe at the management of the economy. It's really saying. I've given you mr davis cheap energy and you've blown that opportunity anyway. Why should i continued. There's always been a feeling west That ontario has had traditionally more than its share. I always make the point that well we have done well economically and ontario. We're going to continue to grow economically ad socially but we have never been reluctant to share that with the rest of canada. Why is there traditionally so much animosity between you and premier law. He'd why this this apparent resentment that he has an. I don't know the reciprocal anger that you have against him to. The two of us disagree sometimes vigorously on the sort of issue a is not Unusual but please don't put it on a personal basis. Diplomacy could only. He'll say oh. I just I think that political leaders Leaders of governments cad and do disagree. That's part of the responsibility but people always try to sort of say. There's something personal in this. "I wanna talk about his football team but we wander all over the place when we're talking to lane kiffin about a variety of different subject. So i just want the true story. In retrospect because we were talking about this recently we don't have all the facts. I wanna know how jamarcus russell got picked overall number one and is it indeed off of one game did he was was. He drafted the way the rest of us drafted him which is like watching him in the national championship game and then saying oh that guy should be the first overall pick because i know that you disagreed with picking him i i did. It wasn't a huge thing under jamarcus bridge. Just at the time you know the rookie contracts were so big and to be able to handle. That would take somebody extremely mature. And you're just really had went and evaluated. Calvin johnson went to his pro day and just stop. The sky was going to be one of the best. Ever play an extremely mature to be able to handle that and Now mr davis why had watched that sugar bowl and was in love with the sugar bowl. Any ball like eighty yards or something like that. An workout so He was gonna draft him no matter what based off of that. What would you say is the most frustrating you've ever been with what your evaluation was versus it being diametrically opposed to management saying not. We don't care what your evaluation it. Well that was it. I just thought that was gonna be you know defining moment the first pick of the draft you know especially at the quarterback position is or get right near your set yourself back often so That that was very frustrating in no disrespect just was frustrated that only answer was wide psalm in that game and you go back that that defense that you're learning one very good either rum no most the season so just kind of disappointed disappointed evaluation process for victims of being sixty three million dollars. Thirty one guaranteed. That's my bad. I made it a national championship game when it was just shoulder. Boba tell us so. Take us through how this happens. Do you realize on the spot that you're doomed that if that's the way it's going to work at that position with ownership and you don't have any real power over the evaluation. Do you realize then in there that that relationship's not going to work Realize that it was not going to especially you got position. Because obviously you're gonna need to eventually play the first pick quarterback and not like he's you know some right guard that you can hide him if he's not playing very well in our too immature to handle it so i knew we were probably in trouble them. Did you have much of that. With sabin. where you would have. One analysis and his analysis was diametrically opposed to everything you thought not not many You know and not that far off Again no respect. Mr davis that was you know lot later on in his career in so i don't think he ever agree with you. Know your boss all the time you know like what coach same but not digital is different because there could be disagreement. But there'd be a reason in a lot of study that had gone into that in a lot of points. Wyatt was a better decision. Let's talk about now instead of some distant past stuff. Because i know that you're excited about the sec. I know that you're excited about your program. And i was confused. I've seen some quotes from you. Where the hell was your defense. Last year i felt like there was a whole lot of in your games running up and down the field. Yes there was Where we did not play defense very often last year. Now i think part of that was the covert. I think first year staff struggle on defense without having spring ball so and we had some tranferred transfers. At that time you aren't able to just be eligible. he had sit out without being cleared. So you know hoping those guys will be able to help us this year and had a lot of meteors in had a spring ball timely so we looked be much improved there. Can you take us on a tour of oxford and how much culture shock you had going from ox from boquet oxford that would be culture shock while that's for sure But oxford is awesome. It is a great town reason why it's one of the best college towns in america and so many kids wanna come here and wonderful people But yes said that would be culture shock from boca. That's for sure. What's the closest thing that oxford has to the blue martini. I i would guess somewhere in memphis. Maybe like an hour away. Okay so i want to feel street understand. That was actually going to say that but after like that was a long ways away like but i was going to say that i want to go on a little bit of a tour with you. Show us some of the local flavor. You've been in tennessee. You've been in california you've been in boca raton. Oxford is very different from everywhere. You've been it is You know there's a square with great restaurants and and so there's a lake close by and hit your lake guy now again. I'm not but one people go on it like you get a little spoiled and boko bluewater and you know not a center coast. But that's the ocean right there. You know five minutes from your backyard so i think anywhere you go from. There is down the lake. Tell me more about lake. There is a like. I have not been on it. I haven't driven by Called lake service and go on. Is that the the welcome talks for welcome to there is only if you win. They're gonna rename it late kiffin. That's what i hear. Why probably need to go on it before they put my name on it. I actually go to once No it's just like. I said you get spoiled. You know in in bulkin odin backyard and there's the ocean and everything so And i'm not really a late brown water fishing guide. So i'm probably the wrong person to really appreciate how great lakes services lane we were talking to stan. Van gundy a couple weeks ago. And he said that you were one of the coaches that he would have come on his huntoon boat with him and we were kind of trying to figure out is lane a pontoon boat guys you speedboat guy but he was pretty adamant that you would be a good time on a pontoon boat. Do you like pontoon boats. Too slow speed for you. I'm not a big pontoon guy. They that's what we out on lake starts here would be huntings dentures. There's a like tuscaloosa in Tusk loose out there. That as pontoon. So i did go on that when i was in alabama. And it's nice. It's a simple slow moving vessel I kinda again got spoiled. You know faster. Moving boats down there efficient in south florida lane. Your cigarette boat guy. You're a speedboat guy. You are not a brown water. Lake guy i'm in between. I'm not the speedboat guy. And like you're my engines. How and how many have that's not me either but I'm more like you know the in between boat you can. Fish can bring kids on. You can pull them out onto notion. gets more fascinating. Do what do you listen to when you're out on the boat usually probably country music that feel like that's kinda like the boat water thing you know that you're supposed to have country music or whatever some plan on what are you drink. What are you drinking. I don't think i'm supposed to answer. What do you mean you're not supposed to answer that. Is it beer visit college..

"Doing all right buddy making sure us away. Yep i just woke up. Steichen about you. Staying away i mean. Just call me when you get home. I mean little stuff like that. Just normal but it's like he he makes everybody feel welcome. I can't tell you like my mom. My mom is. She's known as the queen of hospitality. And i watch people as a child that would come in contact with our family and the way that my mom would care for people and take care of them and do things that she no. They would prefer as i've you know as i was growing up as i became become an adult. There's something very special. Inside of a culture that makes people feel valued. I was talking with my daughter the other night and it. It's it's more than just making people feel comfortable around you. There is something lacking in the world that makes people at an internal level feel valued and like misty was talking about just a minute ago because i don't care what you do. What you do doesn't define you who you are is what defines you and when when you come in contact with someone who sees the value in you and cares enough to call you in the middle of the night. That's a pretty special thing. Yeah i mean that's something that that's that's unique and rare. Yeah and honestly quite quite beautiful. Yeah i mean. It's amazing. What that does and i think i think. Just just listening to that podcast in hearing you talk about their family. It's like something that they've that they have cultivated inside of their little clan. And when you're able to come in contact with it. He realized the special thing they have. Yeah the other thing that i wanted to bring up was what did you think about. Brit davis mr davis seven-minute minute that seven minute interview pretty amazing. He was Is he thirteen when he bought his dad. He was thirteen years old and grew crop tobacco and the farm that he lives on to this day. Literally holy cow and that's a heck of a mantle to put on a twelve year old kid. They they didn't it wasn't like somebody said. Hey klay ask mr brit about how. He got his house that because they would have done because they did that about a couple of other things they were like. Hey asked him about this or that. They told me to ask them about how the doctor talked about. How the doctor in the community win around the white flag their mailbox and nobody asked me to it was it was just normal and what was really neat from like an interview journalistic standpoint. I did not come there to interview mr mr. Brit is always there. He he says very little and i really wasn't sure how he would respond to me like putting him on the spot. And so i got done. Interviewing mr roy in roy is constantly trying to bring other people in for real like if you're hunting with hounds. He's wanting you to put your dog out on the track in. He said hey to get. You need to get bread over here brad. Come over come over here sit down. And they put the headset on mr briggs. I wasn't prepared to interview mr brit. And i think that's what made it so good. Yeah because i asked him. I was just like what are your first memories in in. He just started talking and talking about his dad. Yeah surprise me. It was pretty emotional listening to that. Surprise me because i ran into you know that his father had died. And i don't know you you just have you. I did learn something. You have this sense that like a ninety year old man like you could just ask him outright about his dead. That was my sense. And i hope it didn't come across as brash. Actually take out some of the spaces like sometimes there's in normal communication. That'd be a pause for emphasis on burglaries because we're trying to make it efficient. I take out a lot of stuff so it sounded like i just was like how'd you. How did you handle that. But really it was kind of a little bit more thought in it. But but just as i was listening to. I didn't wanna fill brewed. Yeah the way. It came across. Because because i said how did it affect you when your dad and he. He didn't say anything for probably four or five seconds. Yeah you know and that was. He's ninety he'll be nine well. He's ninety now. He said till june second because recorded before. Then you know he's ninety seventy years ago and it's still you know i'm the same way in my dad's been gone ten years eleven years now but his reaction to that was just like mine would been six years ago or right after it happened. Yeah it's still a you know. A deep emotional effect that has guided him to where he set from that day to where he said right. Now that was you know what one of the things that guide him to where he is. So yeah let's brett for stranded with them. Every single day this year really he drives a little suzuki sidekick four-wheel-drive really he. He rides around listened to the bear. You know the guys have their trucks and they they the guys that are hunting or you know it's a hustle. They're trying to cut off dog races. And it's just like it's pretty cool. Mr brit stays on the radio in knows that country and in here he'll hear him say man of dogs. You're headed calpine pass. He'll get in his suzuki and head over there. Get out and listen to the dogs. And i'm pretty sure he told me. He hunted every day with them this year that they hunted tennessee season has like three of three different seasons. That are you know how are long but a pretty pretty unique. I thought so part. Two of the podcast is going to be about moonshine. Nascar and bear hunting. It was all supposed to be a one podcast. And when i got dive into it it was just too much. I really want to dive into moonshine. Because moonshine was is a little race handled. Listen the i'll forecast you what's going to happen on this like people talk about moonshine hard liquor as if it's like candy i mean even when you're in that country like you see it on billboards it's just a site playful thing like oh moonshine man. Moonshine ruined a lot of families. I had a guy over there who didn't want to be on the podcast. I kind of tried to get him on and he decided he didn't want to be but you know he. He told me he said man. Moonshine was like the meth dealers. That time wow it. Bruin families in so in. That's one like pretty dramatic extreme but the other extreme is that that. Yeah moonshine no big deal. And you heard what mr roy said. I gave you just a snippet is he said i said. What do you think about liquor. And he said. I don't want anything to do with it. And he was real upfront and he wouldn't have said it if he didn't want he didn't. He just said it because it was true. He said he said some of my family stayed drunk their whole life and i wasn't going to.

Majority of Americans polled say that they think Donald Trump should be convicted. And barred from holding federal office in the impeachment trial that's coming up. They said that shouldn't be a Democratic controlled Congress that strips her. It should have been our party that stripped her, but they didn't so The Democrats had to do something. Yes, well. She should just be kicked out of Congress. Yes, I mean, that's that's the bottom line. She shouldn't be there at all. She lets see. "No. Where, you know, you know the other thing that comes to ringing across right and you'll see this when you watch it. Is that what that was it? It was a win. Now it's him. So was our guest yesterday. Tom Flores was the greatest match. Head coach for Mr Davis that anybody could ever create. I mean, if you saw the way he interacted around his players who were volatile his his superstar players and superstar backs and guys with huge egos and owner with a massive ego. And yet he found the way to operate the most effectively for longest period of time around al and not just do okay or do pretty well, but do incredible, you know? So that was that came across two. That's coach Tom Flores has the temperament of a saint. So you're exactly right. Just no one. You know what I know. About the situation and no one coach, You know the little bit that I do. It's no surprise that he was the right guy for that job because he just has that even keeled temperament. Nothing seems to bother him. And if you're gonna work for Al Davis during that time when you know the Raiders with the Raiders, and now Davis was out, Davis You had to be that dude, that just kind of kept everything. Just chill, because if you go one way or another, you upset what is already a pretty volatile situation. And there's no way for us kind of the person in the middle as you know. Tom Flores was there's no way for you to win that. So I'm you want to be the face and Gruden want to be the face? It didn't work. Um and he moved. Flores was perfect. He had just enough. Just enough talent to get it done just enough credibility to be left alone by al enough and just enough patients and mental maturity to be able to deal with out. I mean, really, it comes across in this in this documentary. Here's the most important body part about that. Tom Flores was his own man. And I think that that is a point that should be made all the time. It wasn't a lackey. He wasn't a Yes man. He was his own man that did it his own way. But it worked, and he was smart enough to kind of realize how he should play that situation. And obviously he played it out perfectly. But I'm biased freely admit that I don't know they I don't know if you remember the greatest part of the whole doc crew. What's that? Gene Upshaw. When he when he said that he agreed that it was no the interview in the locker room after winning the Super Bowl. He had Lipper in yet. Yeah, you could see it. It's on the bottom tank, and it's like it's like kind of exposed kidding me. Which got me thinking that in the gift that in the game Greet you wonder in the game. I can you guys, you guys who did for sure, Maybe maybe he did. Or maybe just fire that thing. And after those like his just fourth quarter to five, like, fourth quarter Super Bowl celebration to like this pirate thing in there like you would think if you did it after you like, Let me fire this and after the interview, was fired it in right here in the interview, and he was like 1980. I was like, Oh, damn. Look at that, dude and spit it. The camera natives like there was a fat lip er two. Incredible. Let me tell you, so I guess they fear the big Alan. What's on the cover of s side with smoking a cigarette? Ok, let me tell you. What does you think the other thing I The other thing that hit me was there was a scene where Rozelle is going to start a press conference. And it's like the cameras rolling and he takes out a cigarette. Lights it up right there. Fresh one as the press conference is starting smoking if you got seventies and eighties, man, Yeah. Wow, It's a wonder we survived because our parents back then damn on one on several things, depending on parents. We'll keep it going. Chad Millman joining that's a 2 30. This time, he mentioned Britt Mussburger at 4 30 Steve Kerr at 5 30 Warriors going old school with small ball last night, putting a weapon on the Mavericks. Who, by the way, the Mavericks Poor rib bone, taking nothing away from what the Warriors did last night. You're listening to the Tober Kruger and Brooke Show She Gaby Gaby on KNBR, 1045 and 68. Ft. "First off Katie. Nobody rattles off T scores and these beddings like you, man. You're you're a true artist of this game. But second of all, I love your story. I know when we first met, you were telling me a lot of these stories about your introduction to the sports game in sports broadcasting game on the ship, and you actually paid me an amazing picture. Of how what That was like, because I can only imagine if I was in those shoes as in like a sailor. I wouldn't be looking for you for sport scores hand down specially like during bowl season and playoffs for every single big sport and whatever big sport is going on at the time. I know you're the man with all all the information I can only imagine those years ago. How how technology has come across and but your preparation is very old school. It's amazing. I'm sitting here in front of a pile of papers. And I know you know exactly where everything is that it is truly amazing. I'm telling you, man, you are. You're a man of this art. I tell you what, you know what if you if you're gonna do it, you might as well do it right. And sometimes you know, it gets that nauseum for people. That, you know, See me, you know, doing some of the stuff in there is prepped and people could be like you got the easiest job. You just so all you do is talk sports, and I'm like, Yeah, but if you don't know what you're talking about, you forget about it. You're not gonna last a day. You're not gonna have any sponsors. You're not gonna have anybody that's gonna you know, value your opinion. And I enjoy it. You know, it's something it's It's always been a passion and radios always been a passion. And I know TV you can get, you know the bigger bucks and now streaming and doing all this stuff, But I always enjoyed radio. It's old school, and I remember my dad, you know, growing up and tell me you know all the games that he listened to on the radio because there was no TV. I mean, you get an occasional game when TV started up and you get some games. When your team was on the road, and I tell me about you know some of the stories, but you really had to use your imagination and listen to the broadcasters. And that's why, you know when you give me a choice of watching a Dodger game, we're listening to Scully. Call one on the radio. I'm listening to Scully every time because he paints the picture. You know, he's a Rembrandt on the on the mic. Absolutely so. I mean, if anybody out there is listening to this right now, and you think this is easy, Go ahead and look yourself in the mirror, recorded and then break down all of your favorite sports scores and, you know, I mean, and send that to somebody and tell me what your feedback is. It's not easy. There's always something to improve on. And if you don't know that now that you will You know, for sure Learned that very quickly. But you know, absolutely like I mean, like, that's what you know that's when people tune into stuff like this. This is what they're looking for. Right there Looking for almost like an experience, right? So when you watch ESPN and you watch box sports, and you watch these professionals in this industry, you know what I mean. Like they, It's taken a long time for them to get to where they are. So, Yeah, absolutely. Like, you know, Vin Scully. I mean, well, you know, make my heart pounding couple times faster right now. Just just thinking about how he does it and how everything is so smooth and flows so well, And it makes it seem so easy. But he also did it for it, 60 years. So, uh, I absolutely professional In this industry, and he's one of the greats. Hands down. No doubt about it. I know you love baseball. Know you love your Padres in your Padres. They're busy bolstering that roster to make sure they're gonna be Ah challenge not only in the National league, but in the NL West with those Dodgers and really bolstering that squad will get into that. SEC football schedule already came out some power five matchups coming up. September 4th ls you at U C L, A Georgia and Clemson. I'll play that game in Charlotte, North Carolina and Miami and Alabama. They'll play in Atlanta also have Louisville and Ole Miss Bill play each other. On September, the six Labor Day that game will be in Atlanta, Texas. A and M They'll travel to Colorado and weak too. Then you got a couple other ones, Texas and Arkansas, NC state, Mississippi State and Pittsburgh and Tennessee. So you get some power Five matchups there and then Auburn, Of course, new coach Brian Horse and coming over from Boise State. They'll be playing in Happy Valley against Penn State, and I'm just hoping we're able to get these crowds back. I'm hoping that the cove in 19 subsides and were able to get a complete handle on this stuff. And, of course, here in our backyard, A Legion stadium was pretty tough watching some of the stadiums have fans. I couldn't do it really any fairway, So I I commend Mr Davis for the way that he handled things because I just didn't think an inaugural season there was any fair way to do it with fan bases. That all paid a lot of good money hard earned money for their public seat licenses, which is, you know, it's People think he just, You know, go to an NFL game? Yeah, I'm gonna get season tickets. No, you don't. Just get the tickets for that season. You have to pay a public seat license. So you know for my buddy Larry reduce. I mean, Larry spent over 50,000 for four tickets just on the public seat licensing. So how could you tell him that He can't go to the New Orleans opener on that Monday night, But maybe he can go to You know a game down the line against Denver and, you know November so I couldn't really do it any fairway, So I commend Mr Davis for a ZMA. Temptation is there were two getting people into that brand new Stadium, and I was there..

"Light chances here. They're just want you to be giving the heads up in the coming of the 2nd 3rd Zone. Come on news. Stay connected. Stay informed. This is street talk. Now. Here's your host Chris Davies. Thanks for your patience. Thanks for joining us. Let's go to the phones and talk to Mr Singh High. That's Chris. What's your question today? Since that's the case by Chris Good Morning. Thank you so much for taking my call. Um, First of all I want to say I've been listening intently. This'll last 40 minutes on your talk show. This is my first time basically. Listening in and I've learned a lot, but I have a few questions. My family and I purchased a home not long ago about five years ago. We've never refined them. When we purchased the home we had a full point to refinance. Very sorry. The rate that was given to us So my question is what steps Should I take to move forward? I would like to lower my interest rates basically. Yeah, So, essentially, it's it's the simple is a phone call. Uh, you know, we have a conversation. Uh, take down some information on that. I send you what the refinance would look like. Um Your your brain. When we purchased the home it was about 500,000. We've I believe we have left about. 268 left to go. Okay, Well, what did you What? What did you find out? Five years ago. We What was the loan amount then Approximately The loan amount of approximately would have been have to look into the papers again. Hold on Just a second. I'm guessing about 2 80. Yes, Exactly. Okay, so At that point in time, your principal and interest payment just get going. Just using round numbers is about 2100 you owe to 68 now. Uh, the guy I'm just using round numbers, So just say, for example, you have. Ah, 2 78 load amount because your current reserve account is gonna get re funded back to you. So we have to set up a new reserve account refinances right now closing in February have a first payment in April. That's when the first half taxes to do so you set aside for taxes is going to be pretty high. But just to use the simple Matthew to 78 8275 eyes going to give you Hopes. Let me just do that. So 30 your payments about 13 80 currently on your payment would drop to 11 34. So about 200 on day $50 less if you were to apply that and just keep your payment exactly the same. The other was just make the exact same payment. You make you right now on the new mortgage it would pay off in just over 22 years. Now you could also switch it. Okay? You could also switch and go to a 20 year. Um Hmm. On that payment would be $100 Maury a month than what you're paying now. Okay. On Duhalde, you pay the loan off. Finally. 15 15 years breath. No. You with a 15 year depends. Well, it all depends what your budget allows for. If you're comfortable with that payment your 15 year payment approximately just to give you an idea. Uh, would be about five about about $450 more than you're paying now. So okay. And you know what I could do that I can give you a couple different for each Each bank. Is it like the rates are different for each bank? It's gonna be that's gonna be a little bit of variants. What you your rates and fees will vary from bank to bank the bank, depending on what they're depending on what the Business model list. Um, So that means with Washington Federal I like them is just I want to continue. You know the same relationship, not moving it. Oh, I'm just I'm just trying to understand how. As I said, my first time doing refinement. Never done it before, So I'm just trying to grasp the knowledge behind us. Yeah. Washing federals, a great bank. The move a portfolio Linda. I would say that the probably on the higher end of the spectrum rate wise. Well, that's been my experience. Everybody's experience, maybe a little bit different, but I would certainly Look at this look at different options because you know it does come down to When it comes to a mortgage. You make a payment each and every month whether goes to bank X or bank. A. It really doesn't make that much difference. It's really about putting yourself in the best possible position to be financially successful. So, uh, great. Yep. Great cold. Great questions. Thanks. So much for calling. Thank you so much. You're very welcome. Thank you so much. David, You're very welcome. So you know that, Mr Davis? Wow. Don't you forget it, Mr. C c, You know, um That's the sort of analysis that they let you sort of go through. I mean, those were just rough numbers, so hopefully hopefully translated toe. Okay, listening, But you get the idea that Regardless of your rate, if you even if you're a 3.75, depending on the loan size It's worthwhile. Where gets a little bit if he is when the loan amount gets to be small. You know, So you're 10 years into alone. Then at that point, the savings may not be that may not be that worthwhile to refinance Unless, of course you do in cash out so Every situation's a little bit different, and that's why it's a conversation. So conversation with having figuring out what the goals are what your personal goals are, and then sort of setting it up in providing you with loan options. I mean, you're great with that Chris with clients of walking them through the process and coaching them and educating them and helping them. That's why people love secret, Mr Davies. Well, you mortgage you and Rebecca do the exact same thing when working with your clients. It's all it's all about. Starting with the conversation and figuring out what people need and want, folks, we'll be right back. You can email us info. It's street talk and w dot com or Call us at 877 or 844 Talk one on one. Whoops. Different future starts with you. That's why go, Daddy does more to help you find a name..

"Mark Davis. Not only is he showing his passionate Golden Knights games, but also at those Las Vegas aces games, and now he's going to be the owner of the Las Vegas aces. Can. Anybody who's ever been to a nation of game is probably seeing Mark Davis sitting down there, courtside first row watching watching those ladies play. He's been a big supporter of the ASIS since day one. And has really endeared himself, not only to the city of Las Vegas in general, but to that franchise specifically and has kind of become their you know their number one number one fan, so to speak, and for him, too. Take over the ownership role of that team. Just it really speaks volumes to the type of owner he wants to be in Las Vegas is not just the Raiders and now it's gonna be the aces and he's He's really becoming a Major public figure in the most positive kind of ways for the city in the sports scene, and I think that's something that you really need. You want to see. You want to see the owner of your your biggest franchise in the city out there in front of it all and doing everything he can to help support the city and what better way than that take over. I need this franchise who fell just a couple games short of winning it all that Steven and they do that without this campaign, the big center from Australia who was Albert Asia Wilson, I got to, uh, hang out with Asian. She, of course, made it into studio along with Jackie Young and they were hanging out here. We're talking before the season, then, ironically, end up playing in a Charity basketball game for Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Lo and behold, who was the coach for my team was Asia. Wilson, Marcus Banks, the coach for the other team, And so it's kind of cool toe get, you know, pulled from the lineup. They like Thompson. Look, you're not hitting your trees get I? I gotta put you on the pine. They're It's like it's like Coach. Come on, now give me a break there, but she was just a lot of fun. I love her. I love her game as well. And I've enjoyed. You know, several aces games with daughters and my wife and it's It's a fun environment, and I'm hoping they're gonna be able to have Fans in the stands, You know, you know is they're able to figure things out with the social distancing and whatnot. And I talked to John Maxwell Gigi his nickname and and John said that he's hoping that by the time the season rolls out that maybe we'll be able to have at least some time. It's some type of fan participation. But he's really looking forward to Mr Davis owning the team as well. Andy Esko, your take is Mark Davis, now not only the proud owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, but also going to be the owner of the Las Vegas aces here in town. I think Matt said it all. It's good for Las Vegas. It's good for the aces of good for the WN BA and it's certainly good for for Mr Davis. It's Ah, I think I think it's a win win situation. Of course, he takes over a team that made it to the WN BA finals last season, had a fine season, unfortunately, were swept by the Seattle for the championship. But still some nice problems and you know that he'll be committed to fielding. Ah, very good basketball team, much like he's been committed to In the best of the best team on the field for the Raiders..
