"Yeah I mean the the thing about Woody Guthrie Song is it still stands today. and. The line that. I saw a sign painted with private property. This land was made for you and me. Actually it reminds me of A sentiment was echoed in a song from the nineteen seventies, which was signs by the five man electrical band which the League is. In. The sign says anybody caught trespassing would be shot on sight so i. jumped the fence and yelled at the House Hey. What gives you the right to put up a fence and key out or keep Mother Nature? And if God was here, he'd tell you to your face man. You're some kind of center. And that Song went on to be remade in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety by Tesla owner who remembers that. They, did take over one thousand, nine, hundred ninety so I think it shows you that. Even though time has passed, the issues may have not and for the record. Just everyone knows the lyrics assigned signs everywhere. The signs blocking up the scenery. That's a radio at it. Do the math. That is a radio edit. They did not use the word blocking it that. But back to woody so what? He had a number of songs. Not just you know this land is your land. He also had dusty all dust and I ain't got no home in both of them sort of hit that angle of poverty, in the US, and homelessness and the issues that were plaguing the nation, and he passed away in nineteen, sixty seven, and he was obviously father of many children. One of them was of course Arlo Guthrie and interesting are low as he wrote the Song Alice's Restaurant House and the best. Best Part, there's two great things about Alice's restaurant number one. It's not about what you think it is. It's actually about how he got out of the draft is a protest song in a way and number two I can do my entire getting ready in the morning session to that song, because it's eighteen minutes in like thirty eight seconds and feel like if you can't get ready from the beginning to the end of that song, you're doing it wrong and she tells me I only take one song at granted, it's. Guthrie's Alice's restaurant, but you know we. But that's with hair dragon makeup, so they're. So and it's interesting how that evolved also into an anti war sort of commentary as talks about how he got out of being drafted of the Vietnam War, and if you listen to each part of it about how he goes to the police, and he goes the army sergeant, and finally ends up in court. It's interesting how he unfolds that narrative and talks about each piece that was sort of steering back into the Vietnam conflict. Isn't that interesting? I love it. It's it's. I actually was not. Privy to that song until. A buzzfeed article about how it was based on a true event, and then I found out that there is a movie based on it, so of course bought it. And it is highly highly sarcastic. I'm sure you can listen to. If you have eighteen minutes of free time or new, dry your hair in the morning those work. So maybe that's why you're showering, so you can actually listen to it. That's it. So, let's move on Woody's. This land is your land that was from nineteen forty four. We're going forward a bit, too. I think one of the Great. American song singer Songwriter Poets in. That is none other than Mr Bob Dylan. Bob Dylan Yeah Bob Dylan, and we're going to focus on is from nineteen sixty three Bob Dylan's masters of war. Now. Sixty three was obviously a tumultuous year for the United States. So much to the point that. The death of author thinker and philosopher has Lewis was completely overcast by Kennedy. John, F, Kennedy Yeah. They died on the same day. Nine hundred sixty three, so I mean. We experienced the same thing when fair Fossett died on the same day as Michael Jackson. And also Lewis was across the pond so I think you know I think different news outlets may have publicized that differently, but any case. America was embroiled in the cold, War at this point and a lot of people were very frightened about what was going to happen next and I'm sure many of you have seen movies out there like thirteen days where talks about the Kennedy Administration and their handling of the Cuban missile crisis, which is a great film, so you can check that out also, but people were scared. This is when people were building bomb shelters in their backyard and stockpiling was kind of the first era of panic buying in the united. States I think. So again. Dylan was a very political writer. You Know He. He wrote a lot about what he saw. He had a lot of songs that were very sort of entrenched in the time they were written, and this is no exception so. You're taking all that. Fear that America was feeling. It was obvious that someone needs to step up and do. Something is what Dylan had said, and so the song mashes war came out, and it really just shook the nation of the cord. Because if you've heard it is ferocious. Is Angry and it's very much targeted at the military it saying that you know it's controlled, declaring quote, a useless war and quote and not owning up to the problems. It was causing so in many ways. Dylan was targeting the American military, and they're handling of this crisis, which is the Cold War and it is still a very popular protest song. We think of antiwar songs. So while plenty of Dylan's earlier songs were also political. Masters of war is really. One of the most poignant. So while many of Bob, Dylan's early forays into political. Themed Music. This one doesn't leave much room for interpretation. Masters of war was released on the album, the freewheel in Bob Dylan. And at the time he did an interview with the village voice critic date heads off, Dillon was quoted as saying I never really written anything like that before. I don't think songs which hope people die, but I couldn't help it at this one. The song is sort of a striking out a reaction to the last straw. A feeling of what can you do? It's unmistakably an angry song and Dylan knew that because he was feeling absolutely helpless. About the United States in Cuba in Vietnam, and Iraq in later years, so it started with the Cuban missile crisis, and this feeling sort of pervaded decade after decade and two thousand one interview with USA Today. He explained that it was actually supposed to be a pacifist song against the war, so there's a mixed message here. I WANNA clarify it. Dylan was quoted saying it's not an anti war song. It, speaking again against what Eisenhower was calling a military industrial complex, as he was making his exit from the presidency. Spirit was in the air and I picked it up. So, Dylan had this uncanny ability for tapping into like I. said the Public Zeitgeist. You know he was very attuned to what was going on. And as a result, he wrote many impactful songs during the sixties. And despite the angry tone of the song masters of war, it's actually been covered by a number of artists arranging from the staple singers to share, so you got wide cut there and its impact certainly hasn't told over the years. It was covered by Ed Sheeran in two thousand thirteen. Yeah for the one campaign against global poverty Judy Collins recorded the song in nineteen, sixty three saint-pierre came out and played it throughout her career. Leon Russell also covered the song. Pearl Jam covered well Eddie. Vedder covered the song with Mike McCready so I'm gonNA. Call that Pearl Jam when you have to five members present. And at the thirtieth anniversary concert celebration at Madison Square Garden Nineteen ninety-two, doing perform the song again, and he also performed at the United States Military Academy at the in one, thousand, nine, hundred ninety, but he left out that last verse so with that I'd like to hear a little bit of the song here goes..

"Pretty awesome and you know this is all to set up the next episode which is also the final episode. We've mentioned this a few times. It's the one centered around the Bob Dylan Song. None of this would have happened if it wasn't for The t-bone at all. And you know Rosanna Dennis's amazing acting in this episode is something that I think people will dig. And that's what we got next week season one. It's a wrap wrap final episode of the icing on the cake. As you said new song featuring lyrics by Mr Bob Dylan I guess think he'll put it on his TIKTOK page. Might he might drop it on there. That's that's it's coming out. I'm sure that the Bob Dylan files out there. The Super Super Dylan fans BECO- beyond like you and me being huge fans. But the guys who were out there collecting you know every hiccup he ever had on the microphone are going to be seeking this out. I hope so I mean I consider myself a Superfan when I saw him Live in Santa Barbara few weeks ago. I went with Dennis to the show. He didn't play the songs that I think the audience expected. But I'm a huge fan of late Dylan and I'm a huge fan of deep deep catalog. It doesn't matter to me if I'm hearing recognizable melodies Or even versions of the song that I'm used to hearing. I just love it all and I love that. He's a person who's immersed his entire life into his art and his whole life is this high level immersion and masking and the stick. Whatever it is is for the benefit of the universe may not be enjoyable to him to do hundreds of dates every year. V away from family. I know so little about the inner workings of the mine. I don't need to know it. I don't WanNa know it. This is. This is exactly how I want. He's gotTa remain that mysterious character. I mean that's his whole thing I think whenever he got exposed his life went off the rails and he decided a long time ago. I put a little distance between me and the what everyone expects from me. Every time I've seen Dylan live. You always start off going awhile. It's not nineteen seventy-four anymore. But then you just accept and you love it and yeah he's turned funny thing is we always joked when we're working on this record as the election was happening not to get political here. I'm not but we always talked to. We were living in the post truth era. We have a you know song on. The album called lying's new truth. We have a song called. That's on America. But the difference is that America's an amazing place because it is filled with scoundrels crooks liars conman. That's the old weird America that grail. Marcus writes vote. But it's your right to come here whether you're some conman politician or an artist who wants to completely reinvent themselves for To be consumed as something that you weren't born as and I always liked the everything that Dylan always said about. Sometimes you were born to the wrong parents in the wrong city at the wrong time and that's yours to fix incorrect as you go and there's a right way to obfuscate mask and there's there's a wrong way but somewhere in all these like wacky stories that we season one. I feel that is the the central idea of Beirne abandoned about the truth and I won't get together. The music process watching him right. Music was very honest that he wouldn't put on a character or say stuff that would be out of character for him. Everything from him is from the heart or not at all and it happens very quickly. Same with t-bone bone. I don't think that even has the ability to bullshit. And certainly whatever form of version of Dylan that we are connecting with and relating with through. His lyrics is probably the most exciting element of it. All and I'll leave you with one last thing. If you have not heard his Nobel speech that he did on Youtube Google it. It's amazing he just talks about The Path that his favorite literary works took him on as a writer and he ends with his discussion of homer's the Odyssey which to me is also an amazing parallel for the Barron Vandross story because we went on our own little odyssey through the old weird America. Yeah this is This is our behind the scenes. Look at the final episode of the season bear to Banjo. Gone but not forgotten. I was lucky enough to play a few roles in this podcast and I'm very honored to be here today hosting a very special behind the scenes episode to set up next week's incredibly anticipated episode which features a New Song with lyrics by Mr Bob Dylan. Himself FREAKS ME OUT EVERY SINGLE TIME. I think about the fact that We got to write a song Bob Dylan and I don't even think who still believes it but it's spill longtime common to get that song made and Actually recorded now put out in this unique way so I have to say the whole season could not have gone any better in my opinion and this is going to be the icing on the cake. You guys have told the story about how you came into. Contact with. Dylan's people and how the song came about. Do you want to go over that again? Or is that something that we should just sort of direct their listeners? To Well Yeah. I feel like it's weird. There's no direct path on this project but the long story short that I told in the last behind the scenes podcasts was essentially just going out and meeting people and sometimes being slightly inebriated has been the secret of this project. Or how did you guys I meet you in jared? I'll man Jerry at a bar. Mister Nice Guy and Strange enough there were it was a it was alcohol involved. Actually it seemed still Justin Bieber. Kinda introduced me introduced us and it was crazy. 'cause I really wanted to get into. I wanted to write jingles for television. You know so when exchange numbers and unlike music industry People we actually like reached out to each other the next day and I think we like even the next stay. We got together. Project was a project. That's what really started by meeting Justin Bieber and thinking I was talking to somebody else then. Him INTRODUCING ME TO POO BEAR. Set off a series of events where. I later met T bone in the exact same circumstance. And then I have poo guarantee bone and then we work on this project and a fascinating a lot but we work on this project for essentially two and a half years and eventually t-bone goes. Hey what's it? GonNa take to to wrap this project up and I said I really feel like this is a special set of material. It's really speaking to the styles of music that represent a lot of various cultures in the twentieth century. The early part of the twentieth century. The Big Bang of recorded music. And the one person who in my mind always tied together. All these different things was Bob Dylan and I really look at him. As this Talmudic encyclopedic resource. That could take all these disparate ideas jazz blues soul music folk music and tied it together into some is uniquely Dylan. So when t-bone said that he didn't think it would be a problem We basically held onto that hope for a while and eventually Voila. The interesting thing is even having the song itself wasn't enough because we had to frame it and presented an interesting way. And that's really where all these great actors come in Rosanna and and Dennis and the writer of the episode Tom. Piazza who's a total legend? We are going to speak to Rosanna. Arquette what's the name of this episode? That's coming out by the way it's based on the song gone but not forgotten.

Great. They're great great. I I hate to say it. But I kind of agree with McNabb and Ritchie for that for that matter not a real big McNabb fan. But I mean, if we're still going through, this course in over the next couple of years where he's starting to season her or end in season heart. I mean, we do sit down and evaluate at that point. I mean, I love Carson get me wrong. I like him better than I like McNabb. But with that said, it is what it is. It hurts to say it we still have pain this guy win in the postseason and every reason to disagree with McNabb. The whole time I've been on hold since I've called this. But. Yeah. It's coming down to what it is. If he. Yeah. If it's two years from now three years from now, and he still hasn't had found success in the postseason. That's a real problem. And it certainly makes sense. His play is is there. I'm sure, but it's the it's the durability. I'm concerned about. Yup. Well, that's my greatest concern on on. All right. Derek who is the ultimate living legend? All right. Well, this is this one's got to be a winner. I mean, Mr. Mr. Bob Dylan. I mean, how can you get any bigger than that? Bob dylan. I think you can get bigger but Bob Dylan is big pretty big one. It is. I would not say he's the ultimate music living legend. Yeah. I mean, he's down. Is. There's one name that six to me that I would pick over him. But it's close. There are two names. I know one of the two year going with I wouldn't go over. There are two names. At least two names is what I'm thinking of I for those just tuning in if you hadn't heard earlier replayed, the McNabb audio giving other chance to hear Donovan, obviously, John, and I and many callers have been reacting all day to what Donovan said over the weekend. This is Donovan on CBS sports national radio he's being interviewed. He's being interviewed by help. And it's great, you know, the muzak getting Donovan McNabb on the show. Unbelievable. But I just think again like like God here he goes Donovan being Donovan, here's what he said over the weekend to you. Approve prove this year as the quarterback of the eagles. Thirty two years. He has a find a way to get in the second round out of the second round playoff. You know for Nick foles do soup Bullard impossibly, take them back to the NFC championship free that, you know, hey, some people can get it for that office. It'd be very successive. You know, he has been helping. He has a really proven to me. Besides the year before he got hurt his first year. All really, it'd be candidate. He needs to get back to that that most. On the second round to real maybe three years really through years. Look draft quarterback because you just don't know about his ability. You know, saying healthy is very key in and it really protected on the stuff of the quarterback enough as far as quarterback. Neighbor. They put so much their eggs in the basket with with. And he's got a fruit with prove that the next year. Don't like it four. Thanks jealous. That's what he has McNabb. He's out of line as well. It's pathetic. And he's out of touch. What's pathetic? What's pathetic? Is that? He's got a dog on a player. That's at the position that he used to be at in a way that is back to the jealousy. That's pathetic. Like someone texted me. And said would you feel the same way jaws said this? Well, Joe joslin say this and joslin have a history. Joe's can be critical. Charles Barkley can be critical national TV Brian Dawkins was critical when he was only SPF be critical. The eagles be critical of other teams. There's a difference between being critical. Good critical analysis. Right. Herm Edwards is he saying that the guy has to win in the postseason. Yes. To stay healthy to do. So the team has a decision to make in two or three years. That's true. Well, he gives them a two year window to get to the third round of the playoffs. That's a little rough. The third round thing is arbitrary and in the next two years. I did he was real specific. But I think it's a little self serving that it was the NFC championship game five. Well, that's my point. It's like come on. That's a whole nother thing. I just wanted pathetic. It's a guy putting a strong opinion out there about a guy who happens to play the same position as he did. I think Donovan seeks it out. I think Donovan tries to interject himself. And when he can't take a shot. He's got a history taking a shot that that that position of those that replaced them. Look Twitter poll question the day. It's brought to us by the casino at Delaware park sportsbook. He can watch wage pro baseball, the pro basketball and hockey playoffs. Pro football future bats at the casino. Adele park sportsbook online at Delaware, park dot com. Lottery agent for the Delaware lottery. Must.

It was four o'clock when the weddings walked in technically, though, I was on my answer as I beat the bride. He walked in right before the break doors were closed, Amy and me and my wife opened them to sit down. But I made it did make it other notes from the wedding. Your day. Well, here's the thing. Right. Yes. I didn't have Amy did not show up and she had an empty seat at the table and lunch box talked about, you know, I told her I never said I was coming texted with Sarah. Was there sitting empty? See? We got you served me. Thank you my gosh. Okay. I'll text her lunchbox says you owe the money now, I will gladly. I mean, I'm getting them a gift, but I never RSVP DS. I don't know. I didn't. So I had to take and the girl who I want with message me and was like, hey, I'll go and I was like, oh, no, no from Jim. And she was like, I'm a great date. And I was like, oh, well now she says, I'm a great plus one. I didn't know what that meant. But found out what it meant. She was the best plus one. She like Debbie babysat was talking to people, you know, have a job to that's pretty cool. You'll be like, hey, listen to the show, and I were talking about the show or like there are no stars or American idol. And so I'd get drug away. And she would just go out and talk to people. This is great. At a great. It was a date, and we had talked about on the show so much that I put her on Instagram, and it was like here tagged or just so because I felt like owed it to the listeners. Could we talked about it so much? Yeah. I was kinda surprised when you put her out there. In emoji over her face or something I know well because we talked about on the show. And so, but she has a great. She was a great day. So so I'm going to go on a date again. Yeah. I haven't talked to her since then that was Friday Monday. I know it's Monday, y'all haven't talked since. And I mean, I guess it technically wasn't like a real date. It's after hours is kind of like, I need a date, and she's like, I'm a good plus one. Yeah. We'll get the first person ever slide into my direct messages and be like, hey, I'll go on a date. All right. But all the guys met her. We did. Yeah. He's very nice. Yup. Those pictures they weren't false advertising. What do you mean? Like we were talking about how hot she was in the pictures, and she showed up at the wedding. She was just as hot because some people online. They put pictures up and they make themselves. Look good Zima person. You're not her though, she was like full steam ahead. You don't hit the brakes like she was hot. And they definitely danced. There was no space between them and some of the dances. It's not junior high like all dancing to. Yeah. No. Slowdowns comes on you slow. Dan is hand. Hey, go song. What's that song from ghosts? You know? You know, the I know where they're making. Touch and Bobby and his date with the first ones out. We're doing this ice. Message say do you dance? She was like, I'll be a great plus. While they do dance. She goes something like not that good. But I'll try it's on the song came on. I was like here. It's like junior high start with a slowing get loose. So melody. Anyway, it's up on my Instagram. Mr. Bob Dylan's, there's a picture of me dancing with an older lady. But that second swipe it's. The wedding was good. God. I'm glad it worked out for you. That's super tastic didn't waste food. That'd be a fun story. Like, if you'll end up having kids, I know I'm jumping the gun here. But. Oh. Jumped any harder. Just a what if it rains in my mind? Like, you know, we'll also mom, dad. How'd you oh? Well, dad didn't have a date to a wedding. And I was good plus one I slipped into his defense. What's a DAM? Now. We're just. Laser like hologram. She didn't catch the bouquet though. Yeah. She didn't know she ran from it. Oh, she c-. She's a good plus one. Well, I was like go go charted catch it being funny. But her and bay Ray's girlfriend like hung out the whole time. She liked her. Yeah. The best friends. All right anyway. What the have notes here? I mean now that you'll haven't talked. I know you didn't. Yes. Did you know if he know if he kissed her then he said have called her by now day? I'm disappointed in you bones. Police say you didn't. Yeah. Please don't you kissed. Look. I was waiting the whole wedding kiss on the dance floor that way back in the day. And remember like oh. Well, then then we'd less than fifteen years. What do you do? Just al. Girl. And he's like, I don't know it just it just felt. He's like I just decided to go for it. And then it was. Yeah. But.

But there's a lot of controversy. If you've seen movie sixty one and has the last race by. Yup. That's because Roger Merrett did it in the one hundred sixty two game schedule as opposed to the one hundred fifty four games. So he had a longer time the Commissioner of baseball who is a friend of Babe Ruth did not like that. Not like that at all. Wow. Yeah. He and his teammate Mickey Mantle or were battling it out that they were going back and forth. That was a big deal. I remember that Mickey Mantle Roger marris battle that was going on.
