I wanted someone to show me a picture. Just like they did in the nineteen forties at termite terrace. You know they show mel blanc. What are you thinking. They show them drawings and he would go. You know he's what did he say. One time the woman made it do a character porky pig. And so i went out to. The farm went up to oregon and my slopped around in pigsty with the pigs. "And when Derek Car is having trouble in the pocket like he did yesterday. Get him outside the pocket. Change things up. Keep the Atlanta defense guessing. Don't just stand there and be a sitting duck. I mean, how many times you gotta watch the same crap happen over and over again and you look coach Gruden. He's a competitive. He's like me saying with Neha, they watched it. They go back and they watch that film if they were watching it like I was, like, Are you freaking kidding me? How many times is this gonna happen? When are you going to change something? If it's not broke, don't fix it. Well, it's freaking broke, Fix it, Try and fix it. Don't just wave the white flag. And look, I know grooms. Not in a guy that'll ever wave a white flag. But I felt a lot of the players. You know, By the end of that third quarter yesterday, I didn't see much effort from a lot of guys. I was totally appalled being a Raider fan. And, of course, doing the little gig that we do, and I do with violator. Captain Jack Rackham and Rader Homer, these air three diehard Raider super fans. We do a show on the fan Media network. You could catch it on Apple News. I also tweeted out. Well and you go. You'll find it. Uh, it's on YouTube as well. But go there were these guys get dressed up. I mean, violate. It takes an hour and a half to put his war paint on to do a 67 minute video with us. I mean, that's how passionate this guy is. But he let its few last night he was so appalled Just watching it. Look, we don't care if you if you lose you lose, you get beat, You get beat, But when you get How moved to where? You know your guys don't even show effort. There's a problem there and I'm sure you know, you know you can have a game like that, I guess, but but I don't like it. Not when you're sitting six and four. You come off, almost beating the defending champions that you already beat once and you're going to Atlanta and you gets just get shelled and fish. I'm telling you, it sets it up for this Sunday. The Raiders are going back to met life where they went last year, and they got their ass is kicked last year by 30 points by a week Jets team. Now the Jets are open 11. Eaters ever lose this game? Forget postseason. I mean, this this franchise will really have to do some serious soul searching. There is no way that this team shouldn't go back to Jersey and just go in there, and that game should be over by halftime. They should absolutely spank him. And my big issue with the Raiders on Sunday wasn't that they lost the game because, as you said, anybody can lose it was you could see Atlanta wanted it more. I don't want to see the other team wanted more than my team. I want my team to want it more than anybody else, and if they don't win, they don't win. That's fine. But if you want it, you're more than likely come out with a good outcome. Well, here's the thing. I know. Coach Gruden has a great friendship with Raheem Morris. And I think where he Morris doing a heck of a job is the interim coach there for Atlanta and boy, if there was ever a doubt whether or not this guy should be the head coach of the Falcons. Well, Mr Blank. I think he answered it yesterday. Make this guy the head coach because his team was ready to play. The Raiders were not, and he was without Todd Gurley and without Julio Jo. Owns two of his best offensive cards. Give the man the job and I'm sorry, but Tom Gruden Gruden has to take some of the blame here because as the head coach, he has to have his team ready to play. And you're as you said they weren't ready and that can't happen. You never have to worry about Gruden taking blame because when the Raiders lose, he always blames himself, he'll say, and it starts with the coach and it starts here and he will take the blame. Big time. I'm sure he's as disgusted as the rest. Here's what I would do. And I said it on fan media network I would make and I know a lot of the Raiders. Three younger guys were in here, guys like, well, there's several rookies this year. But most of those guys were here last year and saw that debacle against the Jets. I'd make everybody sit there and watch that entire game. Just so you know what it feels like to lose to an N F squad like the Jets, and if you go there, and you don't have the desire to just get off the plane, kicked their ass and fly back to Vegas. Then there's something wrong, Then you're in the wrong line of work, because there's no reason that this team shouldn't be postseason. But yesterday for the first time in 11 games, I could actually say This is not a postseason team, and I was disgusted watching that game now. I'll say this. I'll throw that game out and say there's your Mulligan throw that one out. Things just unraveled. Football's a game a moment. Um, things can get out of hand. They did, and the Raiders weren't able to fix him when you have that many penalties that many sacks against you that many turnovers It's gonna be ugly, so it is, but redeem yourself. Get to seven and five with three straight home games. After that, two of them against teams that you're going to be battling for the wild card, one of those wild card spots in the Colts and the Dolphins. Both those teams air coming in Legion stadium. So you control your destiny there. You already beat the Browns. But now they've got a two game lead over you. So you need to take care of business and, you know, get back there this season were to end today. The Raiders would not get one of those seven spots they would lose out. Right now. Baltimore should play Wednesday. If all things go if not, if that game is canceled, there is a chance to pull them work could forfeit that game and dropped to six and five. But they're six and four as we speak Speaking to the Browns, fish, they got it done. 27 25 late cover there by the Jaguars. What's your take on the Browns? This is a team that I am still not sold on. I know they're 18 3 Aziz. They're the exact opposite of the Chargers to me. The Chargers of the best 83 and 18 members in the That was one of the worst 83 teams I've ever seen. This team seems to get by by the skin of their teeth, and this is never a team that I can feel I would ever feel comfortable backing. I think that if they do make the playoffs, they're one and done team. There's just nothing special about this heat. Except for maybe that running game with Nick Chubb. It really has me going right now. Yeah, sure. Ben Hunt is a pretty good combination, and Mayfield makes enough place now he doesn't have Beckham. But you still have Landry, who had 100 43 yards, eight receptions and a touchdown yesterday, but getting shoved back He had 1 44 and a touch down on the ground. I still think Cleveland is dangerous because their defense with Myles Garrett when he's 100%. That team is still good. What about the Dolphins Getting that win over the Jets? It was ugly. But with Fitzpatrick there, I feel more confident if I'm a Miami fan, as far as them getting to the post season this year..

"Do you believe Mitch Robiskie has taken his last meaningful snap as a member of the Bears? Over 85% saying yes, they believe Mitch has taken his last meaningful snap as a member of the Bears, assuming no injury. We will see what the head coach has to say. Will he commit to Nick Foles going forward? He just met the media via Zoom. Here's what he had to say. I'll start off here. First of all, you know, just saying how much of an emotional game that was, you know, in so many different ways were super fired up that we've won. Um, And but there are a lot of emotions that go into that and you know the start off when you start looking at some of the injuries, unfortunately, looks like three. Cohen after we get confirmation looks like end up tearing his A C L. So that'll be a big blow to us there with that, which is unfortunate, so proud of that kid and he's been really growing. That part you don't like, you know, obviously the quarterback situation a cz. You know it can be. There's a lot of emotions that go into that. The's kids, these players and and so that was a move that we ended up making and and so what? We're super fired up that we won the game and we have acted And, of course, the amount of respect that I have for Mr Blank. And the Atlanta Falcons organization. I just think that they do a lot of things right way. I have a lot of respect for Dan Quinn, and they know I know it's it's tough there too. So anyway. Big big picture from our game. Start off with some discipline we had. You know too many penalties. I think we have like 12 penalties going into this game, which I was really proud of our team being disciplined, and then we had. I don't know double digit penalties today in every phase. So that we got eliminate. We can't. We've got to be able to get off the field. That said, our resiliency in our perseverance of these players, the high character guys we have. There's something special about this. This group. You know, I don't know what it is, but there's something special about this team. I love it proud of him. No one gave up are you know the fourth border to be able to come back with a 20 years for frost versus them is great. There's just again. Like I said, there's a lot of good things or some bad over three. No, that's that's that's what we're not going to lose sight of. Hey, Mia. In terms of making that decision, what was the The point for you looking back at the misty throats, Anthony Miller. Then you can be the interception there against only what was the point where you knew a change here to be made. I think really went when, when I knew it was was the interception there on third down. We were struggling on third down a lot. We weren't producing points in the red zone. And, you know, I just think that sometimes there's a gut feeling as to when to do it. And that just that seemed like the right time and it's never It's never fun. You know, we guys understanding relationship that we built with the guys whose players there's their strong relationship. It's not easy. But it's you know, there's there's personal relationships and past relationships and that that's just where we're out of that. So you knew after that interception, But is this something you have talked about with your coaching staff with the quarterbacks at half time that this might be happening? We discussed it. You know, I just think that there was a little bit of just there was. We were lacking a little bit of a rhythm. There wasn't a lot of energy. There was just something missing a little bit. And again. I always say, you know, it's ah. When you're when you're playing quarterback, there's only one of them. And when no matter what usually when things are going really well, you get all the credit when you price should and things are not going well, get all the blame when you pry should it but At the same point time that comes with the job and you know we discussed it, but we wanted to be able to go out and just trying to get a feel for where how things would go on, then. Really when that interception occurred. I think he just kind of felt like okay, we gotta go toe. Make a move here. Compass, E as this break from my window. It would seem like it will be hard back that we decided what the next couple days will be like for you as far as the play's going.

"Kenosha, Wisconsin, a town that I've never been to, but I've talked to people from Kenosha before two names in particular, Jacob Blake, who was shot by the police on Sunday and paralyzed said to say Having had said any time the police have to shoot somebody in almost all cases, the person who gets shot created the conditions under which he had to be shot. Now I understand that all the facts are not in yet about Mr Blank. Although I rolled out some of them for you. The second name is Kyle Riton house who ended up shooting three people, two of them died, and there may well be a very good case for self defense. There. Of course, the perfect person to talk to about this is somebody I even visited with in quite a long time. Massad Ayoub. It's too long to go through his entire resume, but let's put it this way. He's been a cup. He's instructed cops. He's an expert in firearms, and he's an expert in self defense. It's a pleasure to welcome back. Welcome in bag. Mr. A. You welcome back to the program. To be backwards. Now, let's start with the police officers shooting of Jacob Lake on Sunday and the way I've sketched out for my audience is you have a man. Police were called to the scene. He's there's a 99 alert, which means he's wanted on warrants. So the officers know that arriving, he said. To be there he is not legally supposed to be. There is what dispatches told the cops. He's taken a woman's car keys. I believe it's his girlfriend, and he will not give them back and he will not leave. They try. They arrive. They tried to take him into custody. He may have a knife at that time because There are shouts to drop the knife, and later they find the knife that's in the car, where he tried to reach later. He escaped from custody resists arrest fights. The cops is taste, but it doesn't do any good. And between the time he breaks free from the cops, and when he gets the front door of his car, about six seconds go by, is there following him? Guns drawn, shouting at him to stop. And he ignores their orders. He begins to reach in the car. What should any police officer have to assume at the point where a son an uncooperative suspect, who's resisted arrest is now reaching into a pocket, A jacket, a car, a box? A briefcase? Whatever he's reaching in somewhere. What do they have to assume? Well, the bottom line of that now that we've been able to view enhanced versions of the video Jake Blake is holding a heart bill knife on his left hand the entire time. That's why they have guns drawn anonymous. They follow him to the.

I just a whole operation is just so poor and for my vote, probably the worst in all four major sports, please. Maybe that's hard. I don't know. What do you think? Well, it's certainly one of them. If not, they want to make you know I was watching Petey I the other night. Pardon the interruption with corn eyes and wilbon and their Washingtonians. They've lived their most of their lives. And they said that Daniel Snyder has no friends. Nobody in Washington likes him. None of the other owners like him three organization has fallen on on obvious hard times. No, I do like Ron Rivera, you know, know him a little bit, and he's a pretty solid guy. But he's he's walking into a tempest there, so I mean, it's it's a shame because they were a you know, a big, huge franchise. I mean, going backto. You know Richard Nixon sending in plays for the team. They don't all that And Mel and Joe Gibbs years winning three Super Bowls. Three different starting quarterback and were you surprised at all of these allegations came out. I was first of all. Come on, then. I thought, Oh, yeah, I have no surprise there. Anyway. Suggestion for a name, maybe tongue in cheek. But how about this? The Washington bureaucrats, You know, they appear to be Susie. They run in circles, and they really don't accomplish what that's a good one. That's a good one. Yeah, I just watched 17 76. And you know John Adams talking about this Congress does nothing. You know that. That do nothing. Congress. He was calling him and you know there's history there. There's the Washington federals in Washington senators. You know, some have suggested warriors, but there Ah, you know, aren't going Native American names again and the implications and all of that, so I don't know what they're going to come up with. And I'm sure they're going to run it by the league office and the other owners before they announce it. You would hope But that's it's a shame, because a CZ Muchas you may hate the Cowboys. You might hate that team in Washington ate the Eagles. The competition for the Giants. You know they're the guys who like to root against And you want to see them competitive. So you could beat him right into Jeff in Fairview and a stylish trying to maintain. Go ahead, Jeff, What's up? Okay, you good? You good? Uh, you know, in method and yes, I am as a matter of Yankee Uh, I feel that the Yankees won the World Series this year. Only people rather like a Yankee fan. I don't think it's good for baseball. They win it. I only The casual fan. I don't think they want the Yankees so well. So they will be like, so it will be like Have a good taste to about 60 games. That's like the only team that wins the world say like the metal. Of course, I'm going to take that chance, says the Mets win you It's you're okay with it. Ryan when it's literally chairmanship rich Bit of favorite. Nobody is going to be happy. You did. Oh, guys, Elephant is going to be happy that the Yankees won the World Series. You've been lucky Fans will be very happy if you will search this year. I mean, Jeff, much as we appreciate you calling. You're not the most objective observer here. Your med fan who hates the Yankees, so everybody's going to be unhappy if the Yankees win no. Aratani Yankee fans. We're going to be overjoyed if they win they even once since 09 They're going to be really happy. And there are Yankee fans throughout the country. I drive around the night sea Yankee logo's on license plates and all over the place. So you know there will be a lot of people that'll be happy. Then there will be a lot of people who aren't you know Spaceballs Michael in Atlanta, you are on the fan. Michael, what's doing Hey, Richard. Nice to hear your voice again. Thank you. I just wanted to say, like, never underestimate what an ownership changed Khun Doodoo, a franchise franchise. And it's like when you have And there's Shay echoes of James Dolan here when you have a team that is under performing for so long organizations that are just like in the toilet forever. Think of what honor ownership change has done for some of those teams like the Clippers once they got rid of Mr Sterling, and they got unengaged smart owner who made good decisions in the front office is You know, you can't blame the GM and the head coach is the common denominator After all this time in the owner, so Yeah, well, look, look at New York and the Yankees. Now the Yankees late sixties were lousy. They were terrible team. That fan base is dwindling there where the stadium was falling apart. It was a joke. And George Steinbrenner and you know there's no saint. You know whether there's there's a lot of mixed stuff with George time murder, but he came in and within a few years they were in the world Siri's winning championships so You know, ownership. I've said this for a long time. Ownership is the number one thing because owners you know they have the ones that higher the general managers. They have approval over who gets hired his manager. They run the organization. So yeah, owners is, you know that's the most important job. I'll give you an analogy. You know, there are many classic rock, TJ, but not all of them curated as well as you did. So it's you know, it's on owners. Ability to choose the right people is like Paramount. It's the number one saying in an organization again, the Johnson And the judge, just like bad decisions. They mean well, I don't think they always, you know, don't mean well, but like it's the ability to discern like a director, choosing what actor? I know someone makes the someone makes the choice of hiring De Niro or God knows, you know somebody else. Well, let me ask you this urine here in Atlanta. What do you think of Ah, I know Mr Blank and the Falcons. What do you think of his stewardship of that team? Well, I'm in Atlanta, but it was born in Brooklyn and so forth. But what I think about Atlanta. I think Atlanta's soft team. I think Arthur Blank is two nights and I think Atlanta is a team that doesn't have a killer instinct. I think Arthur Blank is tonight's with letting Dan Quinn off the hook, and I think that des trickles down to some degree. I think that team's inability Tio close the deal. Um In that Super Bowl showed that showed the character of that of that franchise. Interesting. You know, I wantto get on a little bit with what you say when you say too nice because I was in an administrative job and radio for a while. And very mixed success. And I don't want to pat myself on the back. But I think it's because I was too nice, you know on and that's there's there's a delicate balance. I mean, if you own something, if you're running in organization you want everybody don't like you. You want. People will think you're nice. But you have to do nasty things. Sometimes you have to fire people. You have to, you know, discipline people. You have to create a team. That is all pulling in the same direction and when somebody is pulling in the opposite direction, you have to chastise them or fire them. And I hated to do that. You know, I tried everything to avoid. You know, firing people are yelling and people are getting getting down on people. And as a result, people took advantage now, Arthur Blank. I have a very, very nice feeling about him because he was one of the founders of Home Depot, which is a place I'm at five days a week. Practically, and I like the way that organization has been run over the years and all that. And I like the idea that Arthur Blank approved knocking down the prices of concessions at the new stadium so that they're more affordable and it actually made him more money by doing that, so I like a lot of his His progressive ideas about running a team. But as our caller points out, he might be too nice guy. People might take advantage of him. He might give people too much rope. And that's one of the difficult things about management or ownership or anything like that. Where you've really got to be tough, you know? Yeah. You want to be fair? You want to be? Ah, you know popular. You want people to like you, but you got to be tough and it's hard. Sometimes it's going to Jo in Westchester. You're on the fan, Joe. My rich. It's great to talk to you..

I got the dance with Felicia Rashad that was in Las Vegas, and that was a long time ago. So I'm sitting right next to the stage with puppy dog is and I guess she felt sorry for me. It'd be come up and stance on stage. But the better one was as an a sausage Chicago and a really crummy warehouse doing some work, and there's three guys in the alliens. Some guy goes me like eight hundred dollar coats. So look they're gonna get mugged. So they're looking at the building. And I'm like, well, maybe that's an architect or something. So I go out and talk to the guy second, you need me to move these trucks out of the way, or whatever, you know, to get a better look into building. Let me know. And he says well have you ever done any acting like, no? And he's like, well, my name's Rupert Wyatt. And shook my hand is is I'm the director of singing, we're going to shoot a major motion picture in this building. A couple of weeks could be good for one of the parts. Would you mind auditioning disgraceful? Full of baloney. So it took a picture of him, whatever. And then a couple of days can run over with a clipboard after my name is in my name. And sure enough an hour later, the casting company called me up said can you come into later on today and reinforcing like no tomorrow morning. Concrete order that get that fast afternoon. So they sent up before pages of lines. And I tried to learn my lanes in thirty minutes. I got up extra early called the inspector and had him from inside. We could do our job early, and I could get there. And that was kind of my biggest mistake 'cause I didn't practice enough? I should have waited over the weekend. It was a Friday should wait until Monday and my audition. And I I'm driving home. I called the guy backup is gonna do over on Monday because they didn't do that better than most the actor said actors how many actors is it forty crap he goes, but don't worry about the director like all, right? Steve's last week, Hillary bumper. Yeah. That wasn't a. I wasn't a good story that wasn't it. Stop stop that. Wasn't. That wasn't a good store. I need better stories than that. Let's try. "Edition of free talk live with you tonight. It's Ian, and Chris, of course, you can bring up whatever you want. That's the point of the show. We also bring things to the table that we think you might find interesting we're going to start out tonight with the good old boy network specifically when it applies at the highest levels because every town every little city every town has good old boy network, they do who are in government the old families in town. The big businessmen in town they all scratch each other's backs. The most part. But it's even worse, of course, that a city level when you've got a massive municipality with a huge budget and tax base. Yeah. Huge tax base and even bigger levels of corruption and good ole boy. So that's where we're starting here tonight, and then we'll get into billionaire Howard Schultz, the former CEO of Starbucks and how he's been stirring, it up within the Democratic Party. He sure has it's been pretty interesting to to watch that. So I'd like to talk about all those things. But again, you can bring up whatever you want here. The toll free number is eight hundred five four fifty free and it's Super Bowl weekend. Apparently as I understand it. What do you mean? Apparently, it's what I've heard it is Super Bowl weekend. Yeah. We'll have no plans. I cannot tell by your body pain. What team your support? I couldn't even tell you who's playing. I think I heard a rumor that the patriots are back in damn Skippy. Okay. That's about all. I know. And I just said damn Skippy because it means as much to me as that's okay. But I don't know. Who was the quarterback of the other team? I don't know. There's a quarterback Skippy. But I'll tell you who is going to be a very very happy guide the big winner. Tomorrow can't pick the winners. I am. It's not gonna be the patriots. It's not going to be the Rams, okay? It is going to be Arthur blank is that his actual last name. Yes. Blink Mr. blank. Mr. blank started a little hardware store years ago, called our Home Depot. No. You really you may have heard her Home Depot before. Yeah. Yeah. But but mister blank is definitely the one who is gonna do the best tomorrow on or off field. It doesn't matter falcons owner Arthur blank will collect all of the Super Bowl. What is it fifty three Super Bowl fifty three revenue even though tax payers own the stadium? This is brought to us by fee the foundation for economic education. That's great site dot org. It is and they have been knocking it out of the park lately. I know I usually bring in a story a week or every other week today. I wasn't even really paying attention. They were just all good stories, and it was three out of four. We're all fee stories on Sunday. The eyes of the nation will fall on Atlanta's brand new Mercedes Benz stadium site of the fifty third Super Bowl players and spectators pour into the city, they'll be dazzled by state of the art retractable roof, and an enormous wraparound digital screen will less apparent to thousands of spectators and millions of television viewers is a different kind of innovation carefully concealed legal clause that will privatise future profits on the publicly funded stadium. The gnarled history of building professional sports stadiums will tax payer funds is a long one. This happens. All the time. It does I think it would be a challenge to actually find stadiums. That were privately funded. Yeah. In the US God. And somebody there must sample there is and I want to say, it's it's Green Bay or somewhere in Wisconsin. I don't quote me on that one. I think you're right about that. That's actually rings a bell. We've talked about that. Right. Maybe the only one. Yep. Taxpayer funds attracted some unwelcome attention in recent years leading team owners and mayors to become more circumspect and how they publicize the millions. They received from cities in the name of economic development. That's what it's all about. Chris. That's all it is you just hate business. Yeah. This is designed to help those businesses in downtown wherever it is revitalize. Where's this happening? By the way, I'm land Atlanta paid no attention. I remember hearing that now that you mentioned it. But yeah, no. It isn't it isn't Atlanta. Yeah. This is its latest thing. And of course, the story is going to get into. But I guarantee you I've read enough of these. We promised to revitalize downtown. We are going to bring tourism. We're gonna bring jobs, isn't that happens when you throw money when you just throw money around businessman in an arbitrary geographic area, doesn't that make everything better? It's that that is what they would like to believe. And I I do believe what I wanna know is does anyone out there actually listening to the show believe that right? That's a good question has is this right? Well, have stadiums brought economic booms to to a large town in your state. You know, is is your capital. Maybe you live in one of these cities that just recently got a big shiny new stadium. Has it brought like you know, manna from heaven. I think that there are there's been some look, you know, studies in that shows that really doesn't do much of anything. But also looks sounds like you have some of that information. But also, even if it did even if it did benefit the businesses, and I'm sure to some extent it does like if you run a restaurant. Right across the street from the stadium. You're probably going to do a little better than you had previously. But it's at the cost of everyone else. It's at the cost of every other restaurant in town. What's it the cost of every business and every taxpayer in that city that extra business that is given to the Jason businesses to the stadium? This is not fair. This reminds me of playing sim city game I used to enjoy until I realized what a horrible central planner. I am. But but that is literally it, you know, you're playing sim city. You're you're designing things in certain areas and you throw in a big shiny new stadium. And everything goes up around it, boom, but everything drops everywhere else. Because now they need something else to now you're competing with yourself. You're sitting is competing with yourself. And and that makes no sense numerous studies demonstrate that promises of quote, economic development unquote, around stadiums rarely materialize tax revenues don't rise despite huge public investments in per capita income is actually damaged by the presence of stadium. Best dining and entertainment dollars are relocated from elsewhere in the city nevertheless with threats of moving the franchise to Atlanta's suburbs or even to Los Angeles. Maracay some read and franchise owner Arthur blank extracted the promise of nearly a quarter billion dollars in tax payer funds. To keep the team in town. Now, that's another thing. They all love to play this, the, you know, we need a new stadium. And I'm sorry. Did you say quarter billion quarter billion? That's a good payday. Wait. There's even better paydays not. Okay. But this is the game that mayors and city councils, and and NFL team owners, you know, it's every sport. It's not just the NFL, but they all threatened to leave. Right. I know you won't have a team anymore. And everyone knows how important it is to have a team. There's no identity without for the people the people couldn't possibly bond with one another over anything else. The Lakers have always been in Los Angeles. Except when they were in Minneapolis. But that's the point. And this reminds me of the movie baseball Jefferson. No. But isn't that by the south park guys? It is by the south park guys. But it's sort of this backyard game that sprung up because fans were leaving all sports because every team was moving. We're all moving they were just going to the highest bidder. Anyway, because I think it was Mark who pointed this out before even if it's a team that has stayed and originated in and stayed in the area. Let's say Tampa Bay Buccaneers or something like that. They're still not the same team. They were the year previous and probably zero to one percent of the players are actually from the region. They're bringing them in from all over the place. And they get shuffled around everywhere. Right. So it's not like there's anything regional about the team except for the owner while you do have some hometown pride. I I can understand that I can see that. I ride my home. Those people aren't from your hometown the players aren't right. But they're playing for me. That's what's the cheerleaders from the area. Oh, yeah. Maybe that's possible. Baltin do a end up investigation of NFL cheerleaders to find this. It's an important task. There we go and it's been delegated to me. So the billions in revenues the falcons will generate and ticket sales and advertising wallpa- back the city for its aligned investment. The NFL franchise will pay neither read nor property taxes. Wow. That's a sweet deal. And there's more to the story. Right. We'll share that here in say. And again, my, you know, my question is does anybody out there actually think this is good? Taxpayer-funded stadiums are desirable..

"I got to know, you know, you could we played against each other in college room with Ron day for a couple of minutes at the beginning of the season. You're his teammates by vicariously we develop this relationship, but you left you're like me, you left I retired. But you left right before they won the Super Bowl. So you're not associated with team right to Atlanta, where I know you have a great relationship with Mr. blank in that organization who do you defy more with believe it or not? I would say the falcons interesting. You have my stats up. I think I have much productive years where in Atlanta you right three thousand three thousand yard seasons. Obviously, you're close on another one all the receiving your receptions, they use you different ways. It was the offense is a lot different. When I was in Tampa. My first few years. Offense was very Bonilla those we didn't do a lot. The hash marks is right there. We ran the ball inside the hassle. Boy that was hail for you. It was it was tough. But when I went to Atlanta, they expanded things, and I got into a really good system for a few years where coats more those guys run zone system really got on the road. And I just ended up having a knack for you know, obviously making big plays, and and so forth. So I was saying Lanta I love Tampa always going to love Tampa. I love the fans the people, but I am a falcon I has interesting. Plus, plus, I'm limited partner. So I have a vested interest. Really have to go through the two minutes. Come on. We're involved. Don't realize work almost rushed for eleven thousand yard. Don't. You're close to five thousand receiving yours. But you got a heck of a career. He did. And it gets it gets. I guess lost in people's minds because of the two two two stops. It does it does. But most people recognize me for all the things I do off the field instead of what I did on the field. I tell people I played at a hundred and eighty five pounds. Have over fifteen thousand yards of total offense. Yeah. That's right. That's right. I mean, that's old school. Yeah. Tony dorsett. Did this but running backs don't do that? The game has changed. It's more of a pass the league. But to say that I played in the error where I had to prove that I can run the ball. Hey. I you know, he was considered bigger than force thicker. Yeah. But been one eight to ten when I got drafted I was one hundred and seventy pounds. One seventeen still was recommended service. You got this kicker covenant. No. Literally running for my life. And I just had a, you know, just my passion was like if you tell me, I can't do something you that? I can do it. And I just had the tip of my soda. You know, I was gonna prove the people that I can play. And I did it. I believe it or not when I was in Tampa my rookie year. They wanted me to return punts. Kickoffs I'l dropping putts on purpose. Really? I'll do it. You return punts. Yeah. But I was a second round pick. He was a first round pick and the stand that. But you know, they're not cutting the first round. The second round pick either we get arrested. They might try to replace it real quick. But listen, I started one game. I return punt return and kickoff to the started tailback. I did it. Now. Did I want to do that every game? Is that what I wanted to be known for? I got you know, it practice when we is. Hey, you come back. Oh my God. What happened to my trustworthy? I wanted them out. My passion was the play running back. I wanted to prove that I can play running back. Can catch putz. "Really good office of mine. I just think when I got there is towards the end, and you know, we didn't play well down the stretch. And we didn't make the playoffs and everyone got kicked out work done with us on the line from radio row in Atlanta's. We get you ready for Super Bowl fifty three. Do you still own a piece of the falcons? Yes, sir. Now that right there now, that's that's an incredible accomplishment. You went from a drafted player coming out that played on the team to having a part ownership. How did that come about? And that's in obviously, it's been profitable for you. Well, it's it's it's crazy because Mr. blank built a really good relationship with Mr. blank. He's author blank majority owner of the falcons, and you know, when I left and went back to Tampa for one year. I would love to call your partner we had a lot of same values caring about the community giving back and change in lives. And it went I didn't really understand what he meant by. Hey, I love the call your partner when day and believe it or not. I mean, he cooked. He talked to me like three or four times. But hey, you really need to do this. You really need to become a partner couldn't me dinner one night and so forth. Okay. Let's say we could work it out. And you know, it's crazy because I had to retire officially retired from National Football League and go in front of the owners meetings, and they had to nominate me to be come apart. And they said I had a approved from all of the owners. So it was a crazy one night. I was a player the next day. I became an owner. So. We talk of a oh boy out here. Joe montana. Tom Brady, all these great guy. Hell with them war done owns. Do you know any other players that own a share of an NFL team? No, I don't I think it's probably one one.

"Very tough. I wouldn't. And we're talking about my that. I think this is part of it with you. And I think this is what's made. It's very tough. They've made it very tough on career defensive coaches in this league now to get ahead. And also every rule changes always against the defense. It's hard to play defense in this league. Now, look at the bats pets give thirty one points in the second half twenty four and a fourth quarter. It's hard to play defense in this league with these rules. It has changed. There's no doubt about it in. It is slide sliding to the offense like crazy. Guys who with defensive coach, Tom it really is. It is. And what's happened is? I believe that the quarterbacks they're being compensated with about one fifth of this hour in most teams that have yet franchise quarterback's. There's probably ten to twelve that have that. And they want to make sure that they take care of that investment that they have they're going to protect them. And we've done a good job with the rule changes. I think for concessions and now we want to make sure that those quarterbacks are going to be playing sixteen games. And you know, what they try to keep them healthy, which is a tough thing to do. Like, look, we have one who stayed healthy. All these years Eli manning. It's just amazing. How we able to stay healthy we watch his brother did it for the most part for one year, and he likes to able to stay healthy. All the Matt Ryan stayed healthy all these years. Yes. Matt Matt Matt missed three games in the second season. I believe. Yeah. That's a little foot injury. So he's been able to stay healthy. And that that takes a lot of effort on the quarterback. You have to have a lot of awareness because there's so many things happen in their coming in your face. It happened so quickly and the guys that you mentioned happened to be what some of the greatest quarterbacks that have played in this era. How about this? You know, you go back, and you think all these years in this town, we've kind of watched this town grow up with football has this become a really good football town, Atlanta. I mean, you think of as being college football country SEC country, the whole thing, but it's become a pretty solid college football down. It has it has, you know, they still like their college football here in the without with the falcons like any place if you're playing well, they're gonna come and support you, and they are going to give up give you they're all in terms of their support and the new stadium. It's gorgeous. I really came to see that new Davis, Chevron I wanted to see this new stadium. I hear this blank. I did an interview with me. He said, you gotta come see the stadium. I said how does it compare to Dallas because I had been in Dallas. He said all was Dallas away. I said I have to see that. If it blows away, but they say the stadiums. Unbelievable. It is but I'm looking forward. Yeah. No. It's going to be a great venue for the for the game that everybody in the world is going to be watching. It's gonna be great for the community of of Atlanta. Mr. blank is done. So many great things for the city. So talking about protection, I know you're working with the guys. And and these new show the pairs that they that they have those guys from New Jersey that they do some work with these new kind of the shoulder pads in this new kind of equipment how so everybody's always trying to find on the way to keep the play of protected. Right. Absolutely. You know, one of the things that we had done as a as a league, not only the NFL the college football and high school football is we're trying to make the game safer guys will be able to continue to play. You know, we've done a great job with the helmet site. We've done a great job with the footwear in terms of testing and making sure and evaluating which of the. The best pats are best helmets in desperate word aware. Right. We haven't done anything in regards to shoulder pads and the guys at extract their in New Jersey. I saw a presentation when I was head coach of the falcons, it just blew me away in a light went on and said, you know, this is what we need to do. We're taking the helmet out of the game. We need to make sure that these guys are protected because they're going to be tapping with their shoulders and design in the pad and the pads padding that they're using the ardine pad is unbelievable in the design is is head and shoulders above any of the others on the market right now. Listen, it's important stuff. I mean, you gotta keep the equipment to assert Lilia was funny. I was reading the story coming in today on a plane about Tommy Nova's. So I remember as a kid. I remember when I used to get the cards when I was a little kid, and you'd have to collect all the guys who are all pro and Thomas was there every year, you know, and you know, when they falcons word good. They still had Tommy Novus. Right. And then here about his CTE and everything that's going on. I feel for those young I've ever doing anything with Johnny Johnny is could haul even write his autograph. And he said, you know, what I shouldn't be like this, and they have to do a better job taking care of these players. And this league now is made so much money. So I'm big on them taking care of those all the players both protecting the players, and this is a big part of it for the future. This is what will help them when they finished playing years from now. But some of those all the players really took a beating they did. And we've got a number, you know, number of teams all thirty two teams have players that are wearing there. Some of the top named quarterbacks that are wearing Matt Ryan is is one. So as Eli manning Odell Beckham at the wide receiver position there's defensive lineman that the body, right? It's everybody's got a different different pair. Well, there's always different pay for players for quarterbacks receivers. But now you've got players individual pairs right for players. I absolutely. And they're just able so they can be fitted for each guy. And that's not just the guys in the NFL or the big college programs that is the pad that X techniques for. All of the people that play football all the men at play even high school, even the highschool Plaid's. Great. Well, listen good to see Mike as always stay. Well, good to see it through the and good luck with your project. If you get off the ground, but to see a nice gesture, thank you. Thank you. Mike and Mike always good to see Mike.

"Teen that's mostly on a downtick on construction real estate loans. But yeah, I mean long gross, which is a large face in terms of revenues has to do better the the other factor. What are your thoughts on that? What did you say in the numbers? Too hard to go through every one of the segments. I think it's kind of mixed. I didn't think there was nothing episodic in q four two thousand eighteen to say that they're behind the curve in terms of provisions allowance for doubtful accounts were higher reserves. It's another way. Of course, also they get better net income it's just too aggressive in the old days. Can I'd ask you this question. So in honor of the old days, I'll ask it right now.
