How Do We 'Lower the Temperature'?

"People are wondering, how do we solve this? How do we lower the temperature? Even Donald Trump has come out and said, we need to lower the temperature right now. It's getting too crazy. The temperature is not going to lower itself. The other side, they are foaming at the mouth, just almost with strange possession. Wanting to remove anybody in the orbit of Donald Trump, the America first movement, whether it be Peter Navarro, Steve Bannon, raiding Rudy Giuliani, raiding James O'Keefe, it is a full out Soviet style purge. KGB style. Now, Republicans are quick to complain about it. Wow, this is terrible. This is really awful. Why are we letting this happen? Good question why are you letting this happen? People are kind of wondering what's the kind of the game plan forward? How do we go about solving it? Well, let's first broaden this. This is not just about the Department of Justice going after Donald Trump. No, you see Democrats, they know how to use power so appropriately. And they're not going to stop because of a bunch of Republican press releases. Look at all the different verticals they're using against Donald Trump. New York State civil inquiry. The Manhattan criminal case, the Georgia criminal inquiry. The Westchester county criminal investigation, the Washington D.C. lawsuit, January 6th inquiry, and also the Department of Justice investigation.

Researchers say the study suggests that teachers need to identify any issues early on, so children can thrive once they enter formal education. By the time kids turn 5, most have already gotten hand foot and mouth disease. Tyrus: The Left Are Fearful Their Mismanagement Empowers Trump

"I've been pretty consistent on this one. This obviously was the punch in the mouth and an attempt to get an aggressive reaction from the base. And president Trump, I believe that they are very fearful, especially the progressives and the extreme left, they're very careful that their mismanagement of the country is going to result in a lot of momentum to president Trump. So they are trying to not do it in courts, which we have learned through the way they do things. They don't really have much respect for the rule of law. Because they would rather someone be canceled on an accusation or something that you can't really prove or you can expand upon or you can make up and use words like existential threats, systemic racist. Things like that that they could try to have courts on social media and Twitter and hopefully get individuals in the base or passionate about the Republican Party and their passionate about president Trump as their leader to go out and do acts of violence, which we typically see on their side of the fence. So then for their media will have momentum and things to basically slow down the idea of president Trump running again.

"John. I should have done this right at the beginning. I just jumped in because I know you and I wanted us to just get busy with the meat of our discussion. But tell us your story because you said from the beginning you don't see America as a racist country. You see it as the greatest country. You do see it as a sinful country, which of course it is, because why human beings live in the country, and we are all fallen. And if you are a country of sinners, then the nation will be sinful as well. Will you tell us your personal journey and how you got to be past the John today and how you arrived at where you are? Yes, thank you so much. I was born and what we call are the wrong side of the tracks. I wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth. My mother took care of four children taking care, making no more than $28,000 a year. We lived in a shelter for nearly a year when we moved from Elizabeth city, North Carolina to Raleigh North Carolina in just the fast forward to today. You know, you can go from living in a shelter in America to now having your book on a shelf in Barnes and nobles if you work and if you labor. And if you are productive. As relates to me writing the book erased during the summer of 2020, while liberal mayors and governors were telling people in their state to defund the police and to stand back all around the country and allowing anarchists to burn down city after city while being at one of the busiest abortion clinics in the southeast, a black father walked up to me and he said, why are you out here fighting a white man's issue? And this day he was wearing a BLM shirt. He was out there to abort. His child, but he tells me why are you fighting a white man's issue as if fighting against abortion is a white evangelical problem or issue alone.

"News of the day is that senator sinema of Arizona has caved, and the Democrats in the Senate will pass. There are 725 pages of $433 billion in new spending and 739 billion in new taxes. It's astonishing. What did senator sinema get for it? She got a protection measure for billionaires. A $14 billion tax increase on some wealthy hedge fund managers and private equity executives. That's what her price was. I'm actually jaw droppingly gap mouth opened astonished at this bill. Again, 725 pages long, it spent another $433 billion, which will be amazingly inflationary on this economy already struggling to keep inflation below 10%.

Remember the Elián González Saga?

"Just reminds I love it when there are all these strange political bedfellows. It goes back to ilian Gonzalez in the Clinton administration. Remember the little boy in a little Havana in Miami? His mother drowned bringing him into the country and the father in Cuba wanted the little boy back and Janet Reno's Justice Department broke down the door and they swiped the kid from the arms of the relatives and delivered the boy back to communist Cuba. Remember that? And I remember at the time I was at a conference with a bunch of talk show hosts and all the big mouths on the radio gathered, which is rough. That's not a place I'm not real comfortable because I believe me, I'm mindful that I'm one of those big mouths and no one knew what position to take because it was, I mean, it was Clinton and we don't want to be pro Clinton, but on the other hand, family values, the kids being returned to daddy back in Cuba. Yeah, but it's communist Cuba. It's Phil de Fidel Castro. No one knew what to do. Well, the same thing's happening here. He got Tom Friedman from The New York Times lashing out at Pelosi. You've got Tucker Carlson from Fox News, condemning Pelosi. You've got, I guess, Pelosi supporters loving what she's doing. And you've got the Biden administration letting her go.

"Chanel medlock. And this guy says that he's a woman or a girl, and he says he's transgender. The guys huge. I mean, he's like big like a linebacker wearing a miniskirt with pom poms. That's who this guy is. So anyway, he got into it with one of the biological girls. And when I say girls, everybody else at the camp is under age, we're talking about young girls here, like 16, 17 years old, one of the girls, a 17 year old, pointed out rightfully so that mister medlock was in fact a man with man reproductive organs and that a man should not be on the girls team. And that set this dude off and there is video and it is awful and terrible and the words coming out of that man's mouth. The girls were so terrified, they locked themselves in a room, one of the girls called her father. And the father shows up and I got to tell you they should give this guy a medal for restraint. Because I suspect, like many of you had that been my daughter, there would have been a come to Jesus meeting. And I can assure you that the transgender dude would not have had pom poms. By the end of that encounter. So anyway, they called the police and the police come and the big grown man here, the big hulking transgender man. Says that he's the victim. And he actually told the girls that they should be adult enough to come out and confront him. The only adult in the room was the transgender man. So the police come and they, and then the guy confesses. This is what kills me. The guy confesses that he choked the girl, but he said he was just doing it in good humored fun. Just good natured fun. Is that what happens at cheerleading camp these days?

He actually said, right into the camera, two things. One, disappointing people as my central trauma. Okay, stop. No one says my central trauma. Unless it's fresh from the mouth of their therapist. Those words were carefully thought out, carefully written out. It's not sincere, you gotta take it for what it's worth, two cents. He continued. I hate when I let people down. So it hurts me, psychologically, and emotionally, that I didn't live up to people's image and impression of me. Again, full stop. How did you know our image and impression of him? But what does he know? Who's told him? It's gone. The work I'm trying to do is this. I'm deeply remorseful, and I'm trying to be remorseful without being ashamed of myself. Who was doing stuff he wasn't supposed to be doing in the Oval Office that involved him and another young lady that wasn't his wife. But let me play the clip of him saying out of his own mouth. This is the thing with these Democrats. They are so double sided and they're so hypocritical. They say one thing one election season and then they say something completely different. They're just complete lives. Why do anybody vote for them? Here's Bill Clinton saying that a recession is two quarters of negative GDP, wrote a clip. Well, an assessment is two quarters in a row of negative growth. I don't think we're going to have that. But we couldn't keep up 5% of the year. You know, forever. So I think 49 of the 50 blue chip forecast essentially relatively 2.5% of better next year. I didn't have sex with that woman. I don't know why anybody listening to that dude said he did not have sex relations with that girl and he got caught. And he ended up into it. However, are we do we have two quarters of negative GDP negative economic growth? The answer is yes. So why are Democrats comfortable saying that then, but then now they want to change the entire definition? Can you believe this is not a conspiracy?

So article from Politico is his former attorney general Eric holder under Obama charged with contempt of Congress and nothing ever happened to him. This is facts. This is not Brandon Tatum just running his mouth. It says the house has voted to hold attorney general Eric holder contempt of Congress over his failure to turn over documents related to the Fast & Furious scandal. The first time Congress has taken such a dramatic move against a sitting cabinet official. The vote was 255 to 67 with 17 Democrats voting in support of the criminal contempt resolution, which authorized Republicans, leaders, Republican leaders, to seek criminal charges against holder. The Democrats support came despite a round of behind the scenes lobbying by Senate or senior White House and justice officials, as well as pressure from party leaders to support holder to Republicans, blank blank and blank blank. I don't want to say their name, a voted against the contempt resolution. Nothing happened holder. So we could draw the conclusion that nothing should happen to Steve Bannon.

The Newest Installment of Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Battle

"So now, here's what we're at. In the latest development of this Sylvester Stallone's ongoing battle over the rise to rock. He should have called to the current franchise rights holder. Irvin winkle, to return to him and this is quote at least a little of what's left of his respective stakes in this iconic franchise here. So the other day, Stallone posted on his Instagram and artist rendition of Irwin Winkler as a snake with a dagger coming out of his mouth, and he wrote a very flattering portrait of the great rocky slash creed producer Irwin Winkler, also after Irwin controlling rocky for over 47 years. And now creed, I really would like to have at least a little of what's left of my rights back before passing it on to only my children. I believe that would be a fair gesture from this 93 year old gentleman. Mister Stallone said this is a very painful subject that eats it my soul because I wanted to leave something of rocky from my kids. But it's always great hearing from the loyal fans he concluded before signing off as he always does. And like I said, despite having created the character, starred in the first 8 films in the franchise, wrote 7 of them, directed four, I mentioned a few times because after rocky two came out, he made a ton of money and then rocky three hit, and that made more than all of them. And rocky at that. And slide at that point said, I like to have some ownership since I invented it. And that never happened. So he's got zero ownership of rocky. And as he mentioned in the post after recalling how his attorney at the time, the legendary Jake Blum shut down any of his requests for ownership under the auspices of, look, it's like, that just doesn't happen. The studio is the power of the agency relies upon them and the attorneys go betweens. And he said, when I finally confronted them, just before rocky four in 1985, I said, there's bother you guys that I've written every word. I've choreographed it. I've been loyal to you. I promoted it directed it. And I don't have 1% that I could leave for my kids. And the quote he got back was, you've got paid.

You've quoted Ed dowd before who has suggested this is a demo side taking place of the government potentially murdering its own citizens. That's a very charged accusation. What the heck is going on with all these young people dropping dead? Yeah. I mean, it's hard to overstate the magnitude of that statement, right? Listen, we're speaking to the data. The data is unmistakable. The life insurance industry has been showing data now for a while that working age Americans 18 to 64 years old, the CDC has this data. That starting in 2021 right around the end of the first quarter, there all caused mortality started to rise to unprecedented historically unprecedented levels. And that's just one source of data. That's a pretty good source of data. That's the industry you can find it in their quarterly reports. You can find it out of the mouths of their CEOs who are trying to call attention. Now, there is obviously people are pretending that they don't know what that is. But it's pretty clear that it's not deaths of despair. Those are not the causes. And we're attributing to the vaccines. In life insurance industry is only one thing. Disability figures are showing the same, which is historic unprecedented rises around the same time.

I have to slow down. I'm excited to share this with you today. How many times in your life? Have you put your foot in your mouth? And regretted it. Maybe you said something on the phone or in person, maybe you wrote an email, fingers, foot, same thing. Maybe a social media post you think, when I say that for, why didn't I say the right thing? I knew what I was supposed to say. Why didn't I do it? Why is that? Happen a lot, isn't it? I can't count. What I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing, then I'm good. I don't want my flight in the mouth, but no promises today, we'll see what happens. It is a daily boost from motivation to move dot com every single day that's kind of what I do. You see, a long time ago, I recognized that my life was not going the way I wanted it to go. So I said, okay, I must be the fault. I must read the problem. So what's going on? What am I doing wrong? What am I doing right? And I started making a little recipes for myself. And those recipes became this show. And we don't specifically go down that path on this show anymore. I do it in other areas where I actually put the frameworks and road maps and recipes in place, but here we give you ideas. And so I started doing that. And so that's what we'll talk about today in some things that you can do just to put in place it will work for you to stop putting your foot in your mouth. If that's okay. Is that cool? Now we can do that. My name is Scott Smith, I'm the founder, and the chief motivating officer here at motivation to move dot com. So happy to have you here today. Putting your foot in your mouth. Something I'm an expert at. Absolutely master, master certified in putting my foot in my mouth and no doubt about it. I've earned my living with my mouth my entire life. It has cause issues. My fingers, not much better than my mouth. It is cause issues over time. And some days it still cause issues. And so I have to learn over time. Not to hold myself back, not to stop being me, not to stop being who I am, know exactly the opposite. To understand how I communicate, how I operate, how I get things done. When I'm going to take a stand on things and when I'm not, not be pushed around and yet get what I want and still not make people mad, right? Not create more unnecessary drama. So over time, I've had to put these in place and it's worked really well. And here's the big thing. I get this really neat privilege. I work with people all day, every day. It's what I do. Some are business clients, a lot of consulting going on to help them run their companies and build their business and make money stuff like that. Other are just people. Make their lives better. Which are the same thing, by the way, the people running businesses are just people, and that people just running their lives could be business people. It's the same thing. But every single day, I spend almost every minute of the day going, okay, that didn't work what does work for you? Let's jot that down and let's create a recipe. Let's go do that. It's kind of what I do. So I'm going to share one with you today about the foot in your mouth, disease that we all have, because if you're like me, you've done a number of times. So what's the fix to doing that? You're on the phone, you're talking to somebody's words fly out of your mouth and you're regretted as they're happening. And if you're like me, a real pro at doing it, you hear it coming before it ever gets out of your mouth. You hear it way back, it's like in your stomach working his way up to your mind and getting bouncing around. No, don't say it. Don't say it, don't say it. Boom, you say it. It happens, right? Or the email? That just came in and you're closer. You want to get it done now. You don't want to put this off to tomorrow. You don't want to think about it. You just got to respond now. Let's put this put this to bed. Well, I'm done. And you don't have to lay on your email send. They actually got it. What are you going to do? How do you fix this? But some of them with a client a few minutes ago. And I'll summarize this down to what was a brilliant response from him. Something, frankly, I'd been teaching him for months now. And I was so proud. I told him this. I said, my God, you finally did it. You did the one thing. I said you should do. And you did it. And it was amazing. And he didn't even know he'd done it. It just happened. So take my advice. You can work with me for months, and you can pay me a whole ton of money. Or you can listen really close today. Stop. Stop. You stopped in his tracks. When I got an email, he stopped. And didn't respond at all. Why? Well, like a lot of folks, it kind of argued him a little bit. That was fighting words. What do you say that for? Why would you even go there? Things were good, and I'm going to give you my two cents back. That's what a lot of people would want to do, right? You ever get an email like that or a phone call like that? I got out of the blue? Happens. Stop. Stop in your tracks. Take a pause. Don't respond. You don't have to right now. The next thing you did really perfectly think. The pondered how he is feeling about what was going on. And he showed me what he was doing. This is why this whole thing came down. He shared a screw with me. He showed me what he did. He literally, at the very first line, says, why do I feel this way? And how am I feeling? And why do I feel guilty about a mistake I'm about ready to make? And what should I say? What's all driving this? He was thinking about it. It was so cool because it was really about ten or 12 items in a row that essentially evaluated how he was feeling about what he wrote to himself was probably as long as his email he got, right? He spent a little bit of time, probably 5 minutes doing it. He stopped, he was thinking about what was really going on inside himself, just for a second there. Then, think again. Which is part of the process he wrote his feelings down, what actions he could and should be taking, and when he would take them. Pause. Just pause. Just wait. Act. It is entire process. It took just a few minutes. But it got longer than that, because you know why? Because he slept on it overnight. Go figure. Age old advice right there. Sleep on it, right? But it's going to keep me awake. I can't sleep. I don't have to Xanax and Z Cole in the world to make me sleep through this problem. I need to get it done. Now, no, you don't. Take a few minutes. Sleep on it. And he ended up responding with a very short email the next day. The result was no added drama and continued positive momentum. That's what happened. In other words, nothing happened. As you said, I didn't poke the bear. I said, yeah. Yeah, when the bear comes sniffing around, don't poke the bear. Stop, think, think again, act. It was so cool to see this happen. I know it sounds very, very simple, but how many times have you been in that situation? Let me give you something else here. Because this is the next thing that happened. This is the next question that came to me from. What do I do when I have to get on the phone call with somebody or somebody calls me? What do I do? Well, it's kind of different thing. If somebody calls you and you don't know who they are, you're kind of in a different place. So we need a prompt, a script, if you will. You need to document you can put in front of you that tells you how you act when somebody calls you and you've never talked to them before. What are your hot buttons? What are your hotspots? What are the things that you're likely to say and you don't want to say because maybe you're on the defense of salesman calls you or you see them as a salesman and you don't want to talk to them because you don't want to buy anything, but it was good. You would buy it, but you don't want to ruin the relationship, but maybe you will. So you have a little prompt sheet. It's not a script, but it's a prompt that basically says when somebody calls me, I'm this is how I react to it. Or maybe you're going to make a phone call to somebody you already know. Why would you not have a prompt sheet to do that? Something that would say, hey, I'm calling this person who is an associate of mine, and this is what I know they respond to best, and this is my hot button. This is what I'm going to say because I drive me crazy. So instead, not I'm going to say this. Why would you not have four or 5 items? That you could use in front of you when you called somebody that you would reference as needed to make sure the conversation was consistent and what the direction you wanted it to go. No foot in mouth disease. Why not? And here's the super duper advanced version of it. Just keep a document of these people you.

"Sparkasse players. It's gotta be a terrible thing to find out on tuesday at four so then august twenty fourth. Another five get cut down. Oh it's just so sad survive and then this is. This is the one that you're like. The first time he all the weakest link the first two year like all right. I can get peasants then on august thirty first it goes from eighty to fifty three dang. Why do they do it like the has. It always been like expanded a little bit. But i don't know god wait. That's aren't that's absurd. It is absurd but at least i mean would you rather be in an initial group of five or i mean obviously wanna stick around as long as possible but it just feels like i'd like to hide in the crowd like no it's twenty. Three of us are outside. Just me just me and four other people. It's a whole bunch of us. I'd rather be cut. Yeah i think. I'd rather be cut in the mass. Maybe because i say it's your hands though. I'm not just singled out. And you're not i yet then again on like the bachelorette i'd wanna be out the first day or win. I don't wanna lose somewhere in the middle. Yeah 'cause i'd wanna be like. And i'd be like we knew right away or like we didn't get time to talk. You have no idea who i am. I would hate for them to pretend they know who i am. And then decide. They don't like who. I am at sucks. Don't like that yet. Because if you're store select date all these women judge you for that at all and now you're going to judge me because you didn't like the way i had food and my teeth. This doesn't seem fair. this isn't fair. yeah. I can't even i five outing on me. Because law were flawed together. How dare you. But then she does and get to know me and like we talk yet missed it. Let me just go. You know then on on the realistic side. If you get at the end you're more likely to make the practice squad to Oh you mean on on nfl. I was thinking about bachelor in paradise again. Which is the practice squad of the bachelor if you really think about it. Yeah but your odds are so much better. There's i think there's thirteen women to ten men. Well like your odds of this past episode. The winter came in late. Like the winner. Yes. so katie. Chose blake spoiler alert and he came in late. He hit a he hit patia who he tried to get her heart and gut rejected. Wanna know enough. I want to be able to let you talk about this. Show what matters to you. And i also now no. It's my fault that it matters to you. But i don't understand what you're saying and at the end of it i also don't think i care and i'm so sorry i also don't like i don't know cater teixeira and i don't care okay. Thank you so much. I know this is my fault. Acknowledged that this is my fault. Because you're acknowledged it. I think you what's next Brianna store adding to a resume in more ways than rookie flag for colts rookies. Now skip one taunting no taunting. Wow i skipped it. I was just so excited for the other story. I know So the nfl changed their taunting policy. Like i think it became public like this past week and we saw the first real play. colts four. String running back. Benny lemay so is this one of those things before you say that. The the the what is it called point of emphasis south. I call it when it's like it's not a new rule. It's like this year were made on tanti animals. Yeah that's such a. What a terrible call to do that after a season when football was like you know it's a year we're like yes. Sports are awesome in their back. Or whatever. and you're going to be like yeah and we're gonna make sure nobody is celebrating too much about a word. I don't have fun. Better be on your best behavior. Well that's the thing that's like we won't let you celebrate in the field. But if you score a touchdown we've loosened the regime. Go crazy in the end zone but have they do you still can you use the balza prop yet. I think they you can can. They had like choreography. Choreography dance stuff. But i don't know if they've usable. Bso we saw a four string. Running back get penalized. After he dragged like half the defense for i now we got a four string trying to make a make the team he gets a big first down Like stands up and like flexes over defender and they flag him for. If you're a coach how do you handle that when he comes back to the sidelines. He's definitely not getting cut tomorrow for pia. Yea say good job. You've made the team. I have to you. All you made your from a rose but guy you also have to say you got a penalty. That's bad yet but this is like a stupid rule. So that's fine but it's a rule it. it's a rule. They knew as being emphasized. And i think if you're a call you shouldn't be fully mad but you gotta have the like. Hey this is how welcome to the. Nfl do they're going to call you on that. So don't do it. But i won't cut you tomorrow at four. Pm here's your rose exactly. It's like a hey johnson also do that but also one on one date with me but you make it to the next because you wanna be like that. You know that. You can't do that again before i tell you. It's okay that you did it. You know i'm not gonna forgive you until you say like because if he comes over and he's like you can't just be like you're right. It was both because then. You're just yelling and it's yeah apple at least you got a first down. Nfl so the penalty brings him back. But it's still first and ten. Oh well then you just put him just put on team. He's on the team now. So at least four strengths muscle in that you owe on that much. It cracking down on taunting stupid. Sometimes it's fun. We just got done making fun of texas with the horns down in how they're gonna handle that and then the nfl won't let the littlest taunting go on. Who was that celebrated a sack and they like hump to end like dislocated there. That wanted to save era somebody on the bears. But that's just my brain plant. Embarrassing brown stewart. St we.

"Megan pinot on this podcast. And i can talk to the union about this. I just might warrant this suspension. Hello dixie cups bulk guessing it into the question mark but starts with like a really interesting point about life also question. I'm katie nolan. He's travis she's christina. Hello what day of the week is it. Do i have to apologize to you to know. Don't it's tuesday. This is the time it's supposed to be Here's today's question below katie's christina travis. Travis always go second. i'm christina. Second because nice you know. We're taking mckay turkey. Burly and i'm someone who i enjoy my own company. I like shopping malls movie myself. I like correct by myself. Yada yada yada. But i do not Shrink go to a sit down restaurant on my own. I'm curious one if you guys like your own company to. Is there anything or you just cannot on the current. Do it on your own love. You mean it. By carly. I legitimately i love you and i mean it i carly carly the me too i currently i i i love to. I like alone time. I you know. I think pandemic is coming out of it. I guess but curry away to think of. It's how we all learned a lot about how we feel about alone time. It was like you either were with somebody and you need to find it or you only had it and you're stuck in it so i think we all learned a lot about this last year. I like it. But i don't need it. I want it. You know what i mean. I need people to sometimes convinced me. Like hey you don't have to be alone. you can come hang out with us. I like that feeling. But i also cannot go out to eat alone. It's very weird. Why is that. Is that a woman thing it partially. I mean the thing is. We've been kind of trying to tell you this for a while allotted yet is thing. We don't make this racing. There's of every percentage of everything i think is a. I won't sit down at a restaurant myself. But i will go to a bar or restaurant and set the bar by myself all the time that thing if i sit at a bar if i'm sitting away anything that's like a bench. Somebody can feel very comfortable coming in just sitting next to me and then talking which is great. But i don't wanna be rude and have to be like yeah. I don't wanna be a part of the conversation anymore. So bar is heart but if eating by yourself you're sitting at a table somebody came over and sat at the table with you. They would have to be very bold person. So i don't i don't i don't know why i don't do it. I think the waiters gonna judge me. I think that's what it is. I think the waiters gonna gonna look at me in a way that makes me feel sad for me and then i'm gonna be like. Oh i don't like this. I don't have to be sad. I'm fine. I'm okay alone by choice. Do you wanna use my employee discount. I feel bad for you. I'm not alone in life but then again if you're gonna give me your employee discount. I could show the iranian amount of wine. That makes you extra worried like i could. I could play this up if they're gonna give me a discount that's fine. Why is that. Who cares about. I used to have and i still do have a big fear of eating alone at a restaurant. I don't know if fears the right word. It's just more so. I don't wanna do it. You know what that makes sense. Sometimes i confuse the two sometimes. I'm like oh. My god. I couldn't with like no. You just really don't want yet. I would prefer not to i. Actually i why would you for an audience. All eating alone is basically just eating within audience. Because you're not looking at anyone else but they might look. I don't know either your house the only the one and only time. I've gone to a restaurant. An actively booked a reservation table for one just myself was when i was living in la. I adjust broken up with my boyfriend. And i didn't have any friends outside of him and his friends. I was like whoa. I am totally alone now. I don't have a boyfriend. I have no friends And so i wanted to get. I'm listening to you talk. I'm used to that. I think because. I can growing up without him. I experienced like living in a city where i wasn't close to any of my college friends. Any of the people. I knew i was on the opposite coast for my family to the system. Yeah and then once you lose that safety net of like the people that are your social life. I was like okay now. I don't have one so booked a table for one to go to a restaurant by myself just to like marigny in it in say like this is my life. This is eddie. I wanted to be alone I wore sundresses address. Esta yes chris. Yeah because i feel like you have to tell a story that i'm like hell. Yeah i love that. I feel like you have to like when i i had never lived alone. Never been by myself. And i was like. Let's do it. let's be alone. let's do it and we'll be alone man. I don't i remember the first time i went to a movie alone doing that. This never done. But i don't always weird about it. Yeah as long as you don't have anybody sitting around you. That's annoying as long as you don't have like a group that's talking too much or like a person with loud popcorn. I don't know what else do you complain about it. Moving as long as it's just like you can sit because then you just get to the movie you get to like immerse yourself in it. I sound like a crazy person. I just you all this action around. Yeah a good matinee. That's when i would always go along because you knew. The crowd is sparse. There's not as many kids are in school so they can't be wild. You really can't do it for like a i mean you can. You can do anything you want within reason but you. I wouldn't wanna do it for like a big movie on. Its opening night or like opening weekend. 'cause i don't wanna have to sit next to like immediately next to everybody. I want the space on lounge. You know those fancy movie theaters now with the like recliners like you literally lay down while watching a movie. They're only decline is is. I guess you can turn on the. Do not disturb thing but it's like if you don't want food. It's weird when they keep coming over and asking you to accept waiting on me in your by yourself. They're like hi. You're still by yourself more popcorn and other go way. katie thing. But i've never known how to modulate my voice properly in a movie theater..

Ballparks you know that team deserves such dreaded for not complaining and here we go you know people have no idea what they have to move their families send their cars apartments and a real team is there plays you know but these guys are playing the rate at play and and that's why we're doing well because there's no complains. I know one thing when you were down indonesia and even though it's your spring training facility you know the yankees have a lot of fans down there in tampa phillies in clearwater. The razor obviously there. So i know at times it felt like it was a road game even though it was in your park. How nice is it to have fans in buffalo cheering for you guys. Yeah i mean i wouldn't go. That dies the whole time and again. I don't want to forget that defense from toronto. That were there. You have to share their support and stuff. You know. 'cause we did have at toronto fans and you don't even but most of the fans were you know the teams that we we play against so he was great the other day to have fans you know pulling for us it was really really awesome and and he felt like the first home game of the year. Does that mean more to the players than maybe we on the outside realized like is it really important to the players. To hear cheers for them and their home. Ballpark does and and you know. I believe rate said it like you know when they have guys who strikes end to the crowd noise and stuff like that bumped him up to do even harder and get a guy out so yeah for sure vladimir guerrero junior. I know you've been asked about him a lot. Obviously but he's been good as just about any player in baseball this year. What do you see when you watch flat. You take the field. Every day i got thrown takes right there watching everyday. It's he's done style that you go while i was gonna do that you know. He's just he's he's a little package. You know Just expectations at the beginning. You know because he's just a kid where so high but now he's he's doing everything that people thought he would do. And and i know you. Obviously you see him every day. The offense is what jumps out at you but the defense at first baseman. Pretty impressive to right. Yeah all we have to do with the beijing because you'd have to get used to play first base and now that he's playing their everyday first baseman and i. I don't want to put any pressure on him. But i call it a day when all these years is going to win the gold glove because it has that good and he's been first baseman so vladi has a great may but marcus simeon wins player of the month in the american league. How important is simeon. Been to the blue jays. Guys been fun to watch and not only because what he's done on the field but how he prepares for the games. And you know how great he's in the clubhouse he's been he's been great he's been great for the whole team in any supromega place. Every day is ready to play every day and and how prepares. That's why even be standing month because he he's he's a good guys. Got good last question. I know you're focused on the astros today but you play the toughest division in baseball for really good teams How often do you look at the standings. How often do you think about the competition that you've got in the american league east island and look at the standings i. I'm only concerned about the team. That was brain a hand. You know you always done that anyways but funny you mentioned that cause win the toughest division In baseball but not only that we probably have one of the scandals so far in baseball. So you know everything that that that team's going through movie and stuff and the way we're playing really proud of this team what we've done so far interesting team to say the least a lot of fun. We're glad to have them on the air today. Charlie thanks for doing this. Good luck this afternoon. Anytime day. bleacher.

"Sunday. Baseball aaron boone spoke with our karl ravitch. Give a lesson erin. I'm sure you've heard enough about the offense. You know the numbers. What are the levers. You can push. You can pull to try to get this thing jumpstarted. Offensively it just continuing to do a deep dive with with all our individual players along with our you know the the hitting coaches and then he you know front office. You know things that we can find you know whether it'd be slight mechanical things. We're seeing with individual players or you know continuing to button up our process and you know. Are there any things we we can add. As far as you know gain planning getting ready and But also having a you know an overwhelming belief and confidence in our players and our system and and you know what we're teaching and and trust that we will will grind our way through. This doesn't understand when a team is going well. You're doing that when a team is going poorly. You're doing that. How often are these. Things brought up regardless of production. We got a tweak this. We should think about that. Is that constant. It is constant. But i think when you're going through you know an extended struggle so were you know what sixty games enter. So you know haven't obviously performed the way we believe that we're capable of or believe that we're going to So i think there's more questions you ask and more things that you dive into but it is a constant thing where you're trying to make little adjustments here and there. How do you avoid major league. Baseball talks about radical changes shifts. And we're going to crack down on illegal substances and we're going to have seven inning game. How do you avoid or wendy. You get to a place where you see now what we really got to shake it up. It's just stirring up. Oh i mean you know the position. i'm in you know i. I don't really go that far deep into it. You know it's kind of like all right. What are we doing. What what does it mean for us. And how are we going to be successful and you know whatever rules system shakeups that we have and try to address it as best. We can the tv applying the red sox. One fifteen the last two years at yankee stadium. They win the first to hear from your dugout when you look at that team what what. If anything is different than the last couple of seasons well last year was obviously a real struggle for them. You know just not having some guys on track and stuff and you know in these first. Two games against us they've You know especially last night. Got a lot of big. Hits with two outs and some to strike hits Where you know. They just came through last night. We're in the eighth inning. It's three three. were two outs. Two strikes in a tie game and and they're able to put four runs on the board so You know they've done some things well. And some big spots in this series against us and and it's allow them to claim the first two games and lastly thirteen stolen bases tied with the reds fewest in baseball. Twenty eight outs on the basis. Most in baseball six more than the cubs is there a philosophical. Approach that that would. You'd like to see done differently or a week. You're sticking by whatever we're doing well we're gonna you know i'm always looking for advantages. You know if we can gain an advantage. Or you know our occasional swipe of a bag or whatever But but i do. There's nothing we can do as far as you know becoming a base dealing team for example where were just not that type of club or have those type of players necessarily but you know the base running issues which hopefully of have started to clean up here over these last few days but has been one of you know the issues. We've run into too many outs on the basis. And you know kind of looking back over the last few years whereas we've never really been a base stealing team we've been a very efficient base running team and so you're constantly trying to strike that balance between all right let's address and and asks herself y you know. Some some mistakes have happened. That should not happen on the basis but also trying not to take away some aggression and take away those opportunities when when there are inevitably where you've got to try and take an extra base and we got to walk that balance and strike that balance. Good luck tonight. Thanks thanks for having me on.

"And it is interesting. I think you'll agree with me that we're going to have a lot of whatever date they put this into play. And if let's say it's a week from today there are going to be a lot of charts on baseball tonight. Sarah lang's we'll do a lot of things on twitter about before and after they checked. And what the numbers are and for example whether it's fair. Not trevor bauer. A lot of people were watching his spin rate in yesterday start that he had against the atlanta braves. And guess what. Tim who was down which is going to lead to a lot of speculation in a lot of conversation. A lotta people are going to be watching the offensive numbers and i'm sure we'll continue talking about this is removed or all right. I wanna hit you in a few more topics before we go. Who in the world is patrick. Wisdom and he is is he like now like babe ruth willie mays and hank aaron rolled into one. He's got seven home runs in eight games. He's the third player. Ever to hit seven home runs in eight games for a new team. And he's been around. This is his third major league team. But buster this one. I love so much about baseball. Love so much about baseball. The light goes on a certain day for certain guide suddenly. He's not a pedestrian player. He's a really good major league player. And maybe that's the case here or maybe he won't hit it all for the rest of the year. Who knows but this is the only sport where you say. Where did this guy come from. No one comes out of the g. league in the nba and makes you know a four three pointers in ten straight games. We'd never even heard of. That's what patrick wisdom is doing. The more important he is helped the cubs become a really good team. They are the best record in the national league. Since may the first or starting to hit the ball at the ballpark. There are lots of reasons. Why but patrick. Wisdom is one of those reasons the yankees last week knowing. It was going to be an important week because they had four games against the raise. The three games against the red sox. Tim they go to and five on the home. Stan their offense is terrible. They were booed off the field on friday and saturday. And i think we've reached we can reach a conclusion that not only Is this offense bad. It's the worst yankees offense him in our lifetime. The lowest runs per game For this franchise since one thousand nine hundred seventy two the lowest batting average since one thousand nine hundred sixty eight. They lead the majors hitting into double plays in running into outs on the basis. This is not a small problem. Alex rodriguez said that was right pointing out. Wow it's a right handed team. It is so right handed with that lineup. And i was listening on my drive home from yankee stadium last night. Aaron boone in his postgame press conference. And i gotta tell you. I kind of felt for him because the questions are all along the lines of essentially. How come you guys stink. And i ain't bony and others are struggling for the answer us to lead the league in outs made on the basis. When you are a station to station team is a real problem. The ged peas. I understand to some degree. I do not understand how they could have scored three runs in thirty three different games. Which going into yesterday tied with the pirates for the highest number of games three runs or less. This is not a good offense team. This is the this is the biggest all or nothing team in an all or nothing game today. This team is so easy to pitch to are not swinging well and that's where they are right now. You can get a specially stanton sanchez glacier tours out easily when they're not swinging well and what really hurts them is their best hitter digital may to fifty three buster. He looks like a completely different hitter. Ke- than the one that we saw last year those line drives at. He hit to right field in his sleep last year. He's just not doing their big trouble on offense and in that division. The red sox are good. I don't care what anyone says. This is not going away. The rays are really good and the blue jays are a nightmare to handle that offense when they're swinging and talk about athleticism compared to the yankees bluejays. That's not even close. Yeah let's talk about the red sox. It's the first time that i've seen him in person Over the weekend. And i gotta say tim. I love the team. I don't know if they're close to. What the dodgers are. I don't know if they're close to. What the padres are i. Don't know if they have enough pitching but man. They got a lot of winning baseball players. Alex for do go is a winning baseball player. This guy does a lot of different things. He plays the game. Situationally zander. bogart's is the same way marlena allah's last night. Forget the home run that he hit that tied the game. He made play after play. Defensively that plays difference making in the course they gain. They have a ton of winning players. Right and marwin. Gonzalez can make those plays editor at least four different positions in the infield. The outfield key k hernandez is a winning baseball player. And he can do that at second base or in centerfield. Bobby dalbec has a terrible time making contact. But when he's hit ninth hit four hundred and fifty three foot homers. That's something that opens your eyes. We did our game the other night. Buster hunter renfrow it night. Don't tell me hunter renfrow is number nine hitter in the big leagues. That guy has tremendous power but in that line up they can hit those guys ninth because they have other guys to hit in front of them. Alex moves that team around beautifully. And i hope we all understand. How good a player. Rafael devers zander. Bogart's are because those guys are tremendous tremendous and they're only getting better. That's where the red sox are. They're pitching is demonstrably better. Chris sale is coming back after the all star break in theory. He told me. I've got the sharpest knife in the drawer. I'm not sure what that means. He goes and i can't wait to use it meaning. He can't wait to go out there and start firing again. They're in it for the season. I'm not saying they're winning the division but if they make the playoffs i will not be surprised at all with the way they played up to this point. Yup agree with you. And i think you and iron agreement that Tony larussa passing john. Mcgraw in career wins yesterday among managers is a big big deal You know and and look. Tony is not a warm fuzzy figure. Always he drew criticism for his handling a situation..

"This week. President joe biden was inaugurated as the forty-six president of the united states high on his legislative agenda our promises to reform the country's immigration system and to attempt to undo donald trump's most controversial policies. One of those policies is the migrant protection protocols known as mpp or the remain in mexico policy under the program established in january of two thousand nineteen nearly sixty eight thousand asylum seekers have been ordered to wait in mexico as their asylum. Cases make their way through the us system. The weight can often take years now and it can often be deadly in fact. That's what i witnessed last year. When latino usa visited what is in mexico's northern border and later on by chula play on the southern border with what they ma. I was there to meet with asylum seekers who were living in shelters and in parks on the streets and with mexican government officials who denied working with the united states on immigration policy even when we were witnessing taking place right in front of our eyes obvious. Personas or younger is on the atari camels in this mid-quarter does theocro will see ten people today number. Nineteen thousand four hundred and twenty eight mexican official calls this out to a large room. Does the person holding the number approaches the official to say that they're here. What those interested in you know what of those interested in a mexican officials won't admit on the record that they're managing the list. They know that working with the us on this would be controversial in our two part series. The moving border we broke down the ways that mexico had become integral in trump's plan to build the border wall. Even if the actual border wall was a paper one built on seemingly impenetrable policies the asylum seekers met in mexico shared heroin stories of crime and abuse and vulnerability and desperation both at the hands of criminals and the police and authorities while waiting in border towns and all of this coupled with the fear of being deported by the country that was supposed to be offering them protection after mexico boasted about its highest number ever of deportations in two thousand nineteen a group of mexican researchers and migrant advocates set out to document just how extensive involvement has been between the united states and mexico and how this collaborative effort allows policies like the remain in mexico program to flourish. Their research is published in a new report titled in la boca the logo in the mouth of the wolf and it was released last month. Our guest today join us from mexico. City there alesia manga. Who's a human rights investigator at the foundation for justice and the democratic state of law and gretchen. Kunar who's director of the institute for women in migration and welcome alycia and gretchen to let new usa. Thank you so much maria. So the both of you were part of a group of mexican. Researchers that led an investigation into the lasting effects of this so-called remain in mexico program which essentially forces asylum seekers to wait in mexico even though they're actually seeking asylum in the united states. Why was it so important for you to look into this issue right now where maria day. Us mexico have been pushing migrant policies against the mosque wallner rabble people in our region people who are running for danger that they face in their home countries people who are seeking for international protection so they can stay alive in this report we command how the us mexico join decleration and a migration agreement as well as the remaining mexico program are happy. Human effects in terms of human rights violations against asylum-seekers sewn up these seats on states have been recognized as the most violent places mexico. Like komo leap as places where the us department does not recommend. Americans see the sense basis in district board. We document cases off violence in serious crimes against a people such as more dirt kidnapping disappearance and multiple forms of gender violence. The mexican government had promised a temporary permission for people to remain mexico as well as the rights to jobs health and indications while date await the outcomes of their asylum process but has not fulfilled these commitments so literally. They are in the most off the wall. What kind of danger are we talking about when we're talking about these refugees being level level. So we've had case says you know people who are in mpp and <hes>. Many of the cases that we've represented the people have been kidnapped <hes>. We had a young girl who was sexually assaulted and some people have even been murdered. The title of the document comes from a direct quote from one of the asylum-seekers that we interviewed. And i think that he was talking about the situation at that time. In where people were being sent back and literally from immigration offices in mexico they were being sent to a bus station and the kidnappers. Were there waiting for them. And what happens is that people are taken to <hes>. Homes in remote places and then their family members in the united states are contacted and so we started collecting. Some videos and audio tapes of the families would take any of the kidnappers talking to them and telling where to send the money.

It's very inspirational. And i'm like what happened. What's going on. Apparently she witnessed a guy smoke a deer. The deer went through his windshield. Oh and clobber in. Like just destroyed everything so she went over there like she thought happened called cops whatever and she sat there and held his hand for forty five minutes. The ambulance got there and she was like i thought he was going to die. Like i was terrified. He's okay but of course in that moment you're just like holy shit what i do and so i'm like i feel. That's kind of a big deal. Can you please tell me stuff like this. So that i know what you're going through instead of reading some obscure postal facebook so anyway so that was more serious. Be careful when you're driving. Please scary but also be a good samaritan. Because i don't know how suit that's kind of cool freaky geeky to walk up on what i mean. Just i was his windshield. And if it's ninety i i understand. That was my syria one. That's good kudos to marry. I mean really that's that's that's brave. That's a roic by midwest standards you know. We live a pretty charmed life out here so you know the opportunities to do those kinds of things. Don't come every day you could step up. That's impressive. yeah so. I was like that's really cool. Please tell me stuff happens to you. And then i have kind of a funny one. I don't remember which one day this week in because a time is fleeting and everything runs together and i don't remember which day was amen. I say is probably tuesday. Schedule is wildly inconsistent. So i actually. I didn't take a because we've had one acts after school. So i get home. I do myself. And then i go to bed like a normal person are good but i fell asleep watching. I think it was even stevens because disney plus came out jumped on that only so much. Even stevens and i fell asleep and eleven thirty. My dog starts going nuts crazy. And he's up on the couch and he's looking out the window and he's bark and bark and and what is he doing. It's probably a squirrel. And i mad because i was sleeping and it was nice and i look out my window and there's a huge dough. Yeah standing in my front yard. Yeah and i was like and i live in the middle of town. Do and i'm like what the hell one and i kind of like slap my cheeks a little bit. I was like okay. I have to make sure that i'm actually awake. Isn't a dream my dog's going nuts. And then i pull out my phone and try to take picture to snapchat it. And i can't figure out why can't see because it's dark. Why can't i see the deer. Well my camera was facing my face. Who's dark until the. I turned it around by the time we it around. She was just ambling off into so. Did you got nothing. You got no proof okay. But it was. I mean the biggest. I've ever seen. And i know dear are big right but that sucker was big and she was just chilling. Just hanging out.
