"Wanted more for the guys for the Philly fans, but I had no doubt that there will be back and that they'll bounce back because they're a group of really hardworking guys. Great coaching staff and I have no doubt that they'll be back. What an experience it must have been Paxton speaking of experiences won't actually be your first time with the national team. The first time with the senior team, but we know you quite well from the youth national team ranks, especially this under 20 team that we kind of all fell in love with last year. Tell me about this U 20 squad because you guys were not just good in Concacaf. You were dominant and I don't think we've really seen that before. Yeah. I love those guys. I love that team. Really, truly. And I go and play with that team. I enjoy. I enjoy every second of it on and off the field, being coached by Mikey, the assistant coaches Sean. I really truly enjoy every moment of it and playing the way we do, playing the style that we play. It's obviously super enjoyable for me. And the tournament I had, of course, I had a good tournament, but I think the team around me and what we did set me up for all the success I had in that tournament. And I'm looking forward to hopefully being named to that U 28 World Cup roster and yeah, I think we have a really talented group. And I think we can do big things in that. Do you 20 the Olympics coming up, you were obviously voted the best player in concave that U 20 level. You've seen this group, which was the best team at the U 20 level. Give me a name. Maybe a name that people haven't heard don't realize that you think is going to have just a ridiculous career. Maybe a Jack mcglen, somebody of that nature who can't pick yourself. Well, you can't pick yourself. That week see Jack mclinn here in this January camp, but I'm sure they're saving them for that U 20. Give me a name. I mean, I was going to say number one JF mclin, another one, Alejandro alvarado. I think he's just one of those guys that kind of goes under the radar because he's not the one that gets on the score sheet or makes the killer passes all the time, but he does the dirty work for the team that sometimes goes unnoticed, but that every team needs. When I was playing just having him kind of winning the second ball is winning those tackles being that kind of guy is so crucial to a team. And he also has the end product, which is amazing. And Jack mcginn, of course, he's like my best friend. So he has tremendous amount of talent. I mean, a crazy left foot, crazy IQ on and off the ball. So yeah, he's going to have a tremendous career. Paxton, before we let you go, I got to ask about the big move to eintracht Frankfurt. One, why eintracht Frankfurt and two, what were the other options? What else were you considering? So I'll start with why. I mean, eintracht Frankfurt kind of came to me from the very beginning and once they kind of told me the plan that they had for me, they were only the really club that I had in the back of my mind that me and my family were set on just because how they approached me and how they kind

"Southern California ahead of not one, but two friendlies in the LA area, Wednesday will be the United States against Serbia from BMO stadium formerly bank of California stadium home of LAFC and then on Saturday from the home of the galaxy dignity health sports park. It'll be the United States against Columbia 24 players called in 13 could make their senior debuts in the first games of the Anthony Hudson era. For more, on camp, let's call on somebody who's actually there on the ground in Southern California Paxton errands and formerly of the Philadelphia union now, of course, if eintracht Frankfurt Paxton welcome to the show, great to have you here on football Americas. Thank you so much for having me. Yeah, happy to be here. All right, so give us the vibe. What's going on in this camp? I mentioned 13 players who could make their senior debuts, plus we got a new coach. So a lot of new faces described to us what y'all are up to. Yeah, I think like you said, a lot of young hungry guys trying to make a good first impression on the new coach. But I think it's a really talented group of a lot of new faces, which is sometimes really good because they bring a lot of hunger. They bring a lot of ambition and they're always kind of pushing the level to try to make that good first impression. And a lot of guys can make their senior team, including me, debut. So yeah, I'm just really looking forward to it and hopefully I can make that impression to make my first cap. Paxton bigger European move, your first call up with the U.S. national team. What are you feeling at this moment right now? This moment in your career. Yeah, I'm feeling a lot of emotions, but the number one thing for me is super excited and super thrilled. You kind of said a lot of things have been happening for me in these last couple of months with the big move to Europe and now getting caught into my first senior camp, but it's been nothing short of exciting for me. I'm kind of player and I'm kind of person that loves the challenge and it's just been great for me. All right, so this last name sounds familiar, it should. He is of course the younger brother of Brandon aaronson. I'm wondering if Paxton Brendan gave you any advice before this camp and generally kind of what your relationship is like. Is he a mentor? Is he a rival? Like, what's that like? No, he's for sure a mentor. Yeah. It's always nice just getting to bounce ideas off of always just communicating after his games after my games just always asking questions. And of course, I called him texted him before coming into this camp. He kind of gave me the rundown of what to expect, but for him, this was a super important camp. This is what kind of kickstarted his national team kind of status. And he told me the same thing. This is where you can make an extremely good first impression. And if you do it the right way, this can set you up for a lot of success. And it's obviously a huge cycle for the U.S. national team with the World Cup coming here in 2026. So he said if you do it right, this could set you up for a lot of success. Like he did for himself. You know, I've heard your brother Brennan actually talk about you and he actually said, you're going to be better. I'm curious, I'm sure you've never heard people compare YouTube, but I'm curious from your perspective. What similarities, what differences do you see? How are you a lie? What do you mentally and physically in the game? I think we obviously have a lot of similarities just because we were kind of raised in kind of crafted and motivated to

"Parents phone calls. None of that. And also, there is a sector of the fanbase. And maybe some players who think they're certain players are untouchable. And maybe they are hierarchies exist in world football. I understand that. But Jose made Moreno comes in that door, everybody is on their heels. Here's our perked up and nobody is safe. So I love it. I love it. If it's true, if it's true, if Ernie Stewart is really making contact with guys like Zinedine Zidane and José Mourinho, even if they don't come to manage the national team, it's good to have those conversations. It shows a lot of ambition here for U.S. soccer. As far as whether it's realistic, or currently he's at Roma, he's got a contract at Roma through 2024. But let's be honest about José Mourinho, especially if we look at his more recent jobs and how they ended. I'm talking about spurs. I'm talking about united. I'm talking about Chelsea the second time. Won the jobs last around two years. So he's coming up on his two year anniversary here in the summer with Roma. And two, he talks his way out of him and he talks his way out of him quick. So Roma right now, writing the Champions League race, I think they're fourth and in Syria. Let's say they miss out on Champions League. He goes ballistic in the spring, talks his way out of it, and he's a free agent, come to summer. Are you willing to wait until the summer for José Mourinho? I don't think you have to wait till the summer for José Mourinho reports where that the Portuguese national team were actually willing to let him coach Roma and do the Portuguese national team in FIFA fixture dates. I think you could easily do the same in the meantime. In the meantime, until you work out a compromise gearing up to 2026, listen, U.S. soccer literally was willing to lose 13 months with Dave Serac and at the helm to let Greg ber holder coach the Columbus crew. You think they're not gonna let José Mourinho coach Roma? If they want to, they be in U.S. soccer. And José Mourinho is willing to do both at the same time. It can happen. I see no reason why not. This is still José Mourinho. Listen, you said no to the Portuguese national team. There's a reason for that. It's just because you don't want to be the guy who asks Cristiano and those later years. That transitional period, or is it because you don't want to coach national team right now? It's a different game. You mentioned berhalter, you were very critical of Greg berhalter's style and the way his teams played. I was critical of the national team manager. Yes. You always criticize the style. The way the execution. They have this golden generation. He should be getting more out of them. Are you okay? With this golden generation playing José Mourinho style. You're going to be okay with that and you think American fans be okay with that. You are insane if you think José Mourinho is a step down for this U.S. mis national pool because that's how you're framing this question. If you think José Mourinho isn't good enough for this U.S. actually. Stop. Stop. You clearly misunderstood the question. No, I understood the question. Do you have a problem with the U.S. playing the way that José Mourinho loves to play with his ultra talented generation of young players? You got a problem with it. Ask the question one more time. Because I want you to listen to yourself. I have no issue with this U.S. men's national team. These players playing that way because by far and away the most talented person ever associated with the U.S. men's national team set up as a coach. That's just a reality. Look at what everything he's won. That's a reality. As a coach, nobody's resume comes next to us. And we're talking about very few in the world. You can match up next to them. Now, if you want to apologize to retract, what you just said, style doesn't matter. Ford must don't matter. If you want to, I will give you one chance to not care does not care about how the U.S. men's national team plays. Oh my goodness. All he cares about is results. I would take it back. Respect me. All you want to do is share how they play. You love burr halter ball. That's why you wore the shirt back in the day, isn't it? I have this shirt button. That's right. That's right. All

"Hurt? A big name, a special name has been linked to the U.S. head coaching job. José Mourinho, that's right, is reportedly high up on U.S. soccer's list of candidates to potentially replace burr halter. This according to the sun, take it for what it's worth. The 59 year old has never managed at the international level, though he has expressed interest in it, he is currently at Roma in Syria hurt. What do you think? Is José Mourinho, a realistic target for U.S. soccer? I actually said this was my possibility when you did this exercise about your dream coach or your possibility and your security blanket. I said you were crazy. I said you were crazy 'cause I thought it was a reach. I thought it was a dream. But you had it in the possible category. Now check this out, okay? This is a very pragmatic coach. Who's won everything. Everywhere he's been he is one. The U.S. man's ascertain pool has players that can do well in a pragmatic system like José Mourinho himself deploys. The thing here is, does he have any desire to actually go to the U.S. men's national team? Well, maybe he does. Production producer betta, can we pull up the quote? Because this is José Mourinho. Not long ago talking about this U.S. miss national team setup. I see myself coaching a club team. Coaching the national team help and develop soccer in the U.S.. When I'm tired of winning things in Europe, it's not one too much in Europe lately. It's something I want to do. I want to coach the Portugal national team. Well, he denied them just recently. And I wanted to work in the United States. You can have that. You can have your cake and eat it too with this U.S. men's national team. A 2026 World Cup. José Mourinho. That setup. That system. And what's best? You could be damn well sure. He's not going to be answering the phone picking up overbearing

"About the scandal that U.S. soccer finds itself in right now, Greg berhalter and Ernie Stewart are much closer to that scandal than Brian McBride. Is it because of the scandal though? That's what I don't know. That's what I would be like to believe that there was a breach in protocol somewhere and it's because of the scandal, but that could be the only reason you let go of them, right? Well, that would be if it was a firing. This reportedly is the end of a contract and the contract not being renewed. Okay? But to me, this is a sacrifice. This is a we know the fans. We know the press want blood right now. So we're going to sacrifice the middleman and to me that's just pointless because you've got the guy who admitted to domestic violence and the guy who unnecessarily took the call from an enraged mother, which led us into this scandal. That's Greg berhalter and Ernie Stewart. If they're still fit to be in their jobs, I don't understand why we're getting rid of Brian McBride. And to further your point about just how important this position is, if you believe the reports from The Associated Press, we have no reason not to believe that. They report that when Ernie Stewart told the board that Brian McBride was not going to return, he didn't tell them if he would replace Brian McBride. I don't even know if we're going to see a replacement for this position because we don't know really what this position does. But if the one thing that you mentioned that Brian McBride might do is what his actual duties were, we should probably give him credit because you pointed out when the January camp roster dropped. You said, boy, look at all these clubs around the world when they don't usually release players, especially at club like, I don't know, Middlesbrough in the championship in the middle of their season or eintracht Frankfurt with a Paxton aaronson in the middle of their season. Who has two game sandwiched into this January camp. So those clubs without having to seemingly respect U.S. soccer enough to give them their players in this non FIFA window. So if that's the one thing you brought McBride in to do, he seemed to have done it well. You have a great relationship apparently with clubs. Certainly if you compare it to the relationship, FMF has with like Porto Seville, anybody who take a Tito's played for. Yeah, yeah. Even then sacrificial how you just mentioned that they just let them walk away. They just said, you're not welcome back so to speak. They didn't fire him. So I really don't see where the sacrifice was. I go back to because the fans will see it as a firing. The media will see this. Look, McBride out. McBride out. That's what people want. People want to see the spot. I think the fans are smart enough to be like, who else? Right. Who's next? Who's next? Who's next? I think the fans are smart enough to realize that. I don't think anybody in their right minds thinks this is just something that's sporting related. Or his actual job. So there's more to it. So let's assume that the fallout then isn't limited to McBride or maybe that's not assume that. What do you think this decision about McBride tells us about what's coming with Greg berhalter and his future with the national team? I just don't see how there's any way U.S. soccer can retain Greg berhalter after everything that we know now. After him admitting domestic violence and there's the thought process out there that was 30 years ago, he was 18. That's fine. I'm not for this cancel culture. I understand that thought process. I can get with in some way the psyche of, okay, it's still domestic violence and sponsors aren't down with that. And at the end of the day, the bottom dollar is the sponsor and U.S. soccer who's been in just litigation with their own players for the better part of a decade to have this also this stain on them. That's not a PR event they would like themselves. Listen, I was against Greg burr halter for sporting reasons, even before this drama, this incident, the saga came about. I don't see how they can retain him now. If anybody can convince me otherwise, please go ahead because I see no problem way. Again, according to Sam Borden in the report, increasingly less likely that berhalter will be back. This can't be good for his candidacy. That's for sure, 'cause it does feel like maybe even beyond berhalter, U.S. soccer, maybe getting ready to clean house. All right, so Brian McBride, a part of the national team's past for

"At the federation. ESPN Sam Borden reporting last Friday that Brian McBride will not return as general manager of the U.S. men's national team. He was reportedly out of contract. This after becoming GM back in 2020. Sam also reporting that while Greg berhalter is still a candidate to return his manager, it is, quote, increasingly less likely that will happen in light of the fallout from the berhalter Reina family scandal herc. Brian McBride out is this the right move by U.S. soccer. I don't know. Can I be honest? The utmost respect for Brian McBride, I don't know what Brian McBride did at USA. What that GM role really entails. You have Ernie Stewart there. So unless it's something we don't know about a breach in protocol or something else because it is really sporting, there were two goals set out for this U.S. men's national team. Qualifying and getting out of the group. And they did them both. So where did it go wrong for Brian McBride? I don't know what his day to today duties were unless you're just an ambassador for club teams from club team to the national team and you're just making trips, making phone calls. Where did it go wrong? I don't know. And I say it with all due respect. I don't know what he did. Right. This is not the right move, herc. This is a nothing move. This is a meaningless move. Brian McBride, to your point, is literally the middleman here, right? Ernie Stewart is above him, Greg berhalter, is beneath him. Ernie Stewart runs the show, Greg berhalter is closest to the team. Right? And if we specifically talk

"Insurance. Good athletic greens. Let's get into the questions. They vote tell us all we need to know. Yep, get into the Q&A portion. We're going to call you up onto the stage invite you to speak when you move to the stage, please just remember to stay muted until we call on you a reminder to everyone listening the only way you can ask a question is to actually join us here on Spotify live, rogelio, who is up first. Oh, let's start. I love a double S question. Come on up, Scott Steve back. Tell us where you are and what you question, friendly. Hey, gentlemen, thanks for having me again today. And according to Charles Barkley, I am coming to you from the crap filled streets of San Francisco. It's just a sandwich great work for the San Francisco tourist board that man, what is watch your question, double S well, gentlemen, if you'll allow me again, I've got a few prefacing statements for this. Please. In a year in a year, where José Mourinho has convinced his team that the media is against them, the referees are against them, the fans are against them and the opposition is against them. He's been tossed for multiple games, including the preseason, where pizza on trenitalia has become the proper postgame celebration. And where he has been proven right about Manchester United being rubbish. Has he stepped back into the forefront as the special one becoming the top European competitions manager of all time with his win today? Depends whose mind you're going into there. Because in the mind of José Mourinho, the answer is a resounding yes and 5 fingers held up in the air because he knows he's the special one and he'll continue to be the special one. And I'm sure the Roma fans are delighted with what he's done there and until he goes on a ten game losing streak in the autumn, I think he's in a very good place. He's sort of right about everything being I mean to some extent people do go against Mourinho teams because Mourinho is there and that people do look at it very hard. People do give them less respect. The media do, ask questions. He is always the center of controversy every time he speaks to the press. But I don't think anybody cares about that in Rome tonight. He's kind of like, hey, it's like watching like a woolly Batman when the triple-A with the mets as a coach. This is a nice moment. This is a moment of I'm looking at the photo of Mourinho right now. It's really worth looking at. I mean, this is a man who is a master of tics. Yeah, my mother in law God lover. She's a great, great grandmother. I mean, she's pretty good. But she knows that when a birthday cake comes out, she grabs the child. Puts the child on her knee and she knows. No one is more aware that cameras take photographs and photographs to find movies. And so she will spend zero time with the kid on its birthday. Until that cake comes out because she knows there will be a candle blowing out shot and in 2030, 40 50 years time when she's no longer walking the earth. The kid will look at that photo when he or she is an adult and say, oh my God, my grandma must have really loved me. And Mourinho is my mother in law. I wouldn't say he's the greatest European coach in finals all time, but let's say he's the greatest European coach at taking photographs after finals. I'm going to post this video in with the 5 fingers out over the video we released I had like a million views just laughing at him doing the three fingers with Manchester United in 2000 and 17. So it's very self aware. What does this prove? I mean, it proves that we're all talking about Mourinho again, which is great. It's relevance again, it's a lovely thing. When you arrived at Roma, there was the rumor fans painted a mural of him on a Vespa, which was hilarious, looking suave and chic. And I tweeted at the time, that vesper is going to get wrapped around an electric pole and Marina is going to shrug and walk off and just leave it in about two seasons time. I still believe that will happen, but my God, you see the fans, the rumor fans, just delirious and the final result. That's ultimately what matters. He's become a club legend again. But it is, it's Wally Batman winning triple-A. It's just that a lower level, there's no Premier League team coming in from Mourinho any time soon unless one song company gets fired by Burnley, neither mean manager. I mean, that is the level for Mourinho right now. And this is what he's going to become more and more a curiosity has become a brand in his own right. And he will probably take a national team job probably for one of the goal states to give them a land that they need and crave or come over to America and take a job. But go on a tour of just wonder it would be like seeing James Taylor. When you see James, I saw James Taylor when he was still like James Taylor and it was one of the greatest gigs in my life and then I took my wife last summer before COVID to see James Taylor and it was a man bought crap less a plan is in songs he couldn't stand singing them anymore. Even he was bored of them. And that's ultimately what Mourinho will become or become James Taylor still during a massive crowd still playing to people who desperately want memories but hating playing his own tunes as the latest farts for Colorado rapids to delirious fundies on the side like there is no way that the Premier League writers are not going to bring Jose munoz back to the Premier League. It's just too good a storyline. He either has to come back to Manchester United. Or he has to for karma so he has to go to Everton, which would be just my choice. He'll follow the John Terry era. And he'll come back to ever updated news from J dev's Mourinho also crying now. He just wrote this. You know when you go to know when you go to a gig and they say, we're going to play a trek from our new album and the crowd boom. But that Mourinho crying is his new album. It's his new trick. We don't know if the happy tears or sad tea is all you know is they're definitely fake tears and I guess that's the point God will probably leave. It was the guys on the football ramble earlier that they said Jose's Jose's crying is Jose has now been able to convince himself into the speeches he gives and that he truly does believe he's Joe's Jose. Oh my God, in every regard, the only one really against you say Mourinho's team is at this point juicy Mourinho. That is all umber bloody livable. Thank you Scott speed at you beautiful human being. Let's bring up Christina stop. Welcome floor is yours..

"This Barcelona team, they've left it where they left it too late to mount a charge on the league. But they should be looking very seriously Champions League first of all, their resources because frankly, like even with they spent a stack of money, so they should be champions, but they should really look at this as the beginning of a serious rebuild. It's worth remembering, they've not had it easy against Valencia over the last. No. Years like they beat them earlier. They beat them last season away, but it was up three two with Valencia got back into it and could if I did realize how a goal disallowed an equalizer, I seem to remember I might be imagining that. Obviously beat him at home earlier on in the season, but lost a steric of the seasons ago, they've got additions to make, but extremely impressive. Good one for bettis. William Jose penalty got the amount of trouble that looked like they were going to drop points against Majorca. Yeah, but they stay third. Let's be honest as soon as we know away, Real Madrid beat alaba three nil at the Bernabeu as you kind of would expect. Yeah, no surprises there. Severe driving points at espanol. Severe have had chances to get back into this. They have. Yeah, they're doing what they did last season. They got themselves back into contention all of a sudden, we were like, holy shit, could severe win the league and then literally as soon as we said that, they just dropped a load of points. I God damn it, man. Couldn't be cool. Be cool. Do you know who else couldn't be cool? José Mourinho couldn't be cool. He couldn't be cool. He booted the ball away because he knew that he'd get memed to shit. And then he did a very derogatory kind of phone to the ear gesture at the referee when Roma towards the end of the game, which I believe was an insult to the referee's father being involved in the famous calcio Polly. Oh my goodness, you're joking. He referenced that. Yes, that is wild. That's what he was referencing. That's wild. And the ref sent him off and Mourinho did the most amazing kind of like, he did the rounds..

"Who was unfit, et cetera, beignet has COVID, for example, they've got a few COVID cases. So he took the draw, I think it needs a bit more time, of course, to probably stamp on the team. Napoli with a 101 absentee state third in Syria has been doing a one nil, Gregor Andrew Peter as well. Lovely. Here's a center forward stout inside backing up a seaman and the rest of the guys. Built like a tank, yet hard to hit. Andrea rumbles on. She just won't quit. There you go. With a tip of the hat to NWA. I'm sorry, you mentioned it. Scissors quickly. Slightly ungainly, but you don't imagine somebody who looks like that, right? Is that the refrigerator? He's the flying refrigerator. Unbelievable. Well done. Feel bad for my man gerardo RICO suave because it won't take off. But Jules, how about that Patrick shit? He scored again. He's got one fewer goal from open play in the bonus league of this season than Robert Lewandowski. Why don't we say shake for the Ballon d'Or? Yeah, yeah, you're right. I mean, that 13 goals in his last 8 games. 38. I mean, this is like Messi and Ronaldo. Can I point out? Lever has got Coleman in nabre and signing and molar passing him the ball. This guy's got verts and a bunch of Muppets passing him the ball. And Debbie, in respect to everybody, yeah, you're right, and they almost lost that game somehow by a Leverkusen that later collies to make it two two and get at least a point. You could tell they're not far from something really good and yet they keep dropping points at times they just need to keep scoring and that's how they can finish for sure. Atlanta, the fourth interior, putting 6 past udinese in a 6 two win, but gap, should this game come with a little asterisk? Yeah, look, I think so. I mean, rules, rules and whatever, but would you need to had a whole slew of players out between COVID 19? Why did they not postpone it? Because there's no room in the calendar to fit it in, because other than Europa League and because the rules, again, no transparency, no rules, and also because there's a lot of people who take the line. Oh, play the kids from the academy. Yeah, so then you get games like this. I thought this score 6. But he doesn't want that bad, but every right to be annoyed. Party time and the other half of Valencia is Levante record their first win of the season beating Majorca two nail joels who was what you might call a military victory with goals from Roberto soldado and el commandante. First win of the season, they had to wait 20 games, of course. They were the last team in the big 5 leagues, not too avonia, because grew to further and obviously Newcastle were the last two before them to win. Good for them. I mean, they still quite excited at the bottom of the table so I know it would be amazing if it seemed that waited around 20 to get the first win still stay up, it would be pretty pretty remarkable. God, remember, Felix via the referee and that controversial bay and dorming game in the Jude Bellingham comments at the end where he's on holidays and he seems like it could still have holidays for wine. Yeah, I mean build reporting that he might not come back. It's always going to come back from holiday at some point. He might not come back to referee, apparently this has been extremely traumatic for him. He's taking time off. They're going to ease them back in. I kind of feel a little bit. All right, you've had the whole thing. You had Bellingham saying what he said. People re brought up the case from all those years ago and Robert boys. But if you're fired, you knew that you did this. You knew that it happened back then. You knew that you've been welcomed back in. You've relaunched your career. Some guys says something about. You remind everybody of something bad in your past, which is on the Internet. I mean, are you really such a trauma for you? You need to consider retirement. I mean, I don't know. I hope there's other Marino said to that. Maria would not have much sympathy for mister fire. What a story in Istanbul. Yes. Porto were true nailed down at halftime. They get a goal back. Then another, and then with three minutes to go, sagittal can't say Sal engages a nepotism and sends on his son. Who was, I think, of all of the 5 sons that the consuls have, I think the last one is very little, but he's probably the most alent. And coming on scoring the winner and it's not just a winner is because the day before sporting lost against quite a big surprise which meant that Porter could go with three points clearly points clear. And then you can just imagine the celebration of social cost is so common, hugging his son, good slap on the face. I was well done, well done. It was just awesome. So as you can see, I'm one of the good guys. Yeah, exactly. And from jokes work in this gap, Josh cavallo, the only cavallo. In the men's professional game was subject to homophobic abuse when the united his team traveled to play Melbourne victory at the weekend. I've got no words for this. No words. I think to some degree, it was to be expected, but I take encouragement from this. I take encouragement from the fact that kabal has embraced his role as saying like, look, I'm going to deal. I'm going to take the hits. And I'm going to go out and I'm going to go and I'm going to expose this every time it happens. He went on Instagram. He got support from everybody. We don't know if it was a minority major. It doesn't matter. But it's so important. Somebody's got to go and take the punches this young man's got. He's got the guts to do it. He sounds like he's got the support of the whole world, or most of it. Let's all get behind him. Because this is, of course, this is 9 times, and this has got to change. So well done, Josh cavallo, Joel, we're going to come back on Thursday and do this again. Yeah. Because there's more midweek football. For example? Yes, the Italian Super Cup as well. You know, we can't all go to Saudi Arabia, so this time they're staying home just La Liga.

"How about some quick hits instead? Go go. Paul Pogba. I believe he's a champion of the world. We'll miss another 6 weeks to Manchester United. Joseph, I guess his injury means he will definitely see out the season and probably leave Old Trafford on a free transfer within the we don't know what's going to happen after June. He hasn't made his mind up. There's an offer from the club, as we know, or certainly took for enough and a number. How is it going to decide if he wants to keep him if he never sees him train? True, that's why he will eventually do that from February onwards because that injury that remember he suffered in France just a normal shot with France or training, one evening in California. I don't think any of us thought he would be out for so long, but this is what happened is taking a long time to heal properly. I don't think he wants to take any risk either. So let's see when it comes back because I think they could really do and Randy could do with him. Sticking with United who played on villa, by the way, Gavin a few hours on Monday night as we record the show on Monday. The daily mail reports our new chief executive Richard Arnold was not involved in football decision at all. Which means that he must have listened to us on the show last week. Yeah. A lot of people who have had access to this and Mark Ogden or colleague spent a whole hour with Ed Woodward before all secret on background stuff. He's not the only one others too. Richard Arnold is Bill tell us, although he's woodwards made, it's a continuation of Woodward. I don't know. I mean, I know parents are going to be the same. He seems different, right? Woodward was small and he had to kind of scraggly be. This guy looks bigger he has the big beard he is the glasses, which make him look intellectual. And I think if he's a smart guy, and he said, look, Woodward got so much crap for footballing decisions. You know what? Maybe I'll be the guy with the final say so, but maybe I'll just focus on the commercial side. And hire somebody really smart to do this and I'll still be their boss. It's very tempting to be at the heart of all the footballing decisions. Yeah, it is. Trust me a lot of them say that. No, no, don't worry, I'll only do the kind of admin stuff and then eventually they always go in. All right, time will go. As for resting villa, they secured Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona, provided he passes his medical are you excited to have him back football wise? I am excited. I think people are going a bit over the top in this country for him coming back as if he was exactly the same player that he was four years ago. There's a reason you got the nickname magician. Yeah. I didn't know that was a nickname. But Alicia ra knows him really well. I think this is one of the big reasons why this movie. It's been happening. Let's see, let's see why you can bring to that team. It's low risk 6 months. Yeah, exactly. We don't have to keep him after that. Sticking with Barcelona of the page gab, does this mean that they can finally register Ferran Torres who still hasn't been registered and the money that they're not going to pay for Philip Coutinho now could have helped and also why did your PK feel like he had to reveal his wages on Twitter? So in the first point, I think they're either there or they're very, very close. If this deal goes through, we don't have the exact details of how much they're going to be on the hook for wages, but it's certainly going to help because as I've said before, I think the amortization and plus wages for Ferran Torres last 6 months of the season should be right around 6 7 million. This European thing was funny, so it's amazing. The whole story, so some guy on TV said, hey, you earned 28 million a year. Well, he's not some guy on TV. But major cattle end. Yeah, okay. And so he came out and he said, oh, there's three senior players. Barcelona bread, who this is how much they make. And he said, jerk PK makes 28 million a year. Busquets, I think, May 23. And said you're about to 20, right? You're so upset by this, that he posted his play slip. Well, it's not quite as pace slip. It's a deposit into his for 2.3 million at the end of December. At the end of December, now remember in Barcelona, a lot of Spanish clubs they pay their players twice a year. So, first of all, it's not 28 million to 2.3 million. That's 2.3 million for half a season. So double that 4.6 million. Then you pretty much almost double it again because of the taxes. It would be something like 9 and a little bit, right? Which is what a third of what this other dude says. So it's interesting. You know me, I'm all for transparency. I am all for that. We use a PK two could pay cut, right? The clip said, okay, and PK said I'm taking your bacon. But you know, we sit on 28 million. How much was it? Exactly. Precisely. It's not like he took like a 70% pay cut. So well done Jared Pickett for me at least. Jules on the pitch, Barcelona gave up a late equalizer way to Granada, gavi got himself sent off a second yellow. He is 17 years old. Chavi said they need to be better at defending leads. Why he could have stopped by defending for stop. But yeah, it was again, they were not very good. It was, I think, had a horror show. For someone who's asking for so much money for Boston not to give to him for him to commit his future and to put out such a poor performance. I'm not even asking anymore. I think he's going to say what you're asking for and say hey look I'm worth it because this is what I bring you instead it was everything he did was wrong. And then you scored with bad de long who would stop calling him bad the young 'cause the other day young is pulling a header..

"Your point is valid, because the topics score in 2021, when you only play between January and May. So there's something clearly not right. The thing is, bonucci said a few weeks ago that the lost their DNA without him. I mean, I don't know what the name means in football, but anyway. And you can get the spirit maybe or the way they played as a team, and instead it was far too individualized for Christiana. So in a sense, even if that was really late in August and you couldn't really replace him by maybe someone you would have wanted. I guess that was a chance as well to go back maybe to what you were good at before he came, and especially with allegri who was very good before Christian who came to the club. That football that they played before isn't the kind of football that successful in Europe today. That's true. But then but then Bernie clearly seemed to be hinting as, okay, Kristina was great and scored tons of goals and he was brilliant and we won well. One of the three seasons, but still, but there was something missing as well with him being in the team that now, without him, we can go back to. So I guess it is a bit of an alibi for a leg where you can always say, but look, why am I supposed to do if on the 1st of September half to change everything? However, it seems that some of the players clearly felt that something was missing one crisis was there. I don't think there's any question that there was a sense of that. But I don't know, maybe I think in Italy, we obsess over training routines and training schedule. No, no. Much more than in England, right? In England, it's like, oh, look, you know, think about the number times in England. People sack managers and early in August or in September, the transfer window just closed. We've seen this happen, right? Nobody talks about it. Maybe we're not, but we're more obsessive about the importance of preseason. A manager says, I couldn't do my preseason program. Here, it's like, all right, lads, you know, you do a couple laps around the pitch and then we'll have a kick of it. Am I wrong gone? Is that what preseason training was like? It's a little bit more complicated than that to be honest. You practice different systems of different formations, but essentially it's about getting your base fitness into a lot of the bad news of the game for you video is the injury of the recoils, which look bad watching the game and now it's been confirmed. It's one of those injuries where there's no contact and so if somebody's in that much pain, but also they walk off of their own accord. It looks ACL and Juventus confirming again, it is an interior cruciate ligament injury. He's going to undergo surgery later this week. It's going to be at least 6 months and then rehab begins. And as you know, from ACLs, even after you return to playing, it takes a long time to go and kind of find yourself again. I know you're feeling stressed already and why if he's not back on time. I think the reality is more macro from an Italy perspective. Kids are no gays. And again, it depends how these games pan out. But it really shouldn't need to rely on political keys to go to qualify for a World Cup, right? That's the fundamental point. We wouldn't be in this position as Regina had missed those two penalties and as grateful as Italy fans will be for delivering helping you deliver the Euros. This is the reality. They have their chances. That said, yeah, obviously, kids is a massive value added. And while there are other young players who are coming through, now, we're all getting very excited about aspera and come back. And there are these people, oh, I just mentioned three sas swallow players..

"I pointed out, oh, big call for Mourinho. He didn't send out his most time to play. And the marine acts found me on the restaurant. She's terrible. Why is he not the most talented players he's ten guys more counter than him? I'm like, yeah, okay, right. That must be why Mourinho started him in almost every other game, right? Obviously, the pros and cons and all those absence is not the reason that they lost this game. It would have been an extra weapon. Although at the end, it was funny because he sent on all the Spanish guys. He doesn't like that. He just sends on more strikers. Exactly. No choice. You got to make it happen. Equally, though, I don't know that we should be too hard because Pellegrini converted a penalty. It is for four. Yeah, yeah, no, of course. One final point Roma before we dive into you the little. The natural question is, how long will this continue? How aroma fans are going to react how are they reacting? And it's not really question because I probably know more about this than you do simply by virtue of greedy. And so being in the raw material my own question is the freed kids for now. I completely on board with this. The freed kids are talking about spending money. They've been linked with your boy sir George Oliver. Funny enough, sir George's agent is, oh yeah. Yeah, George Manning. But this person director as long as we've always said, chago Pinto is there. Nothing can happen to Marina, right? Yeah, except Kaggle Pinto is like he's in his 30s. This is his first big job. I don't know how secure he is. Yeah, but yeah, yeah, as long as he's there. The freaking seem committed to this. An interestingly, I think they are the freaking it's hard to tell because they never say anything. And when they do say stuff, it's completely bland, anodyne stuff. I mean, I wish they'd come on. Ryan, if you're listening, come on Gavin just me. Tell us who you are. Tell us why you're there. Tell us what you're trying to do. But what I think is what I think is interesting is they seem to be committed to this. And I think their guided more than most by the Roma fans. And interestingly, what Roma fans can be hypercritical and are often hypercritical. The Roma ultras for now are really beating this message. Unity, let's stick behind Mourinho and evaluate him later. He has brought that connection with the fans. That is still there. And I think as long as that is there, it gives him it will continue to buy him time to work and to build. So I think giving credit, he's still good at doing that. Yeah, and they've had good games. They've had good performance. It's been a bit up and down, I think. They haven't been on a big club with just a big thing. Yeah, no, it is. But you see for an hour against you we are capable of, again, they didn't play them off the pie with no wonderful football league with PCs and again in the flagship shop. But still, they were very good in what they were doing and why you wanted them to do. So it's not really terrible. However, if you're not winning the two games in hand, I think they go 6 points clear of Roma and that's for just for 5th place let alone fourth place. So what happens if they finish 7 or 8? Is that a good season? I would say no, I would say no, it's a worse season than last year when they reached the semifinals of the Europa League and everybody was injured and they had a change of ownership and our boy palo fonseca was offended. Football was far better and they were they were in fourth place latest march. But hey, Don, I want to transition it to you because we got to talk about that because I never been here who comes from Ferrari, who is you went to his new anymore, but chief executive. I knew he was an appointment, I think that was made not so much by Andrea and his own, but he was kind of put there by family as a whole as somebody who's external to what happened in the last few years. He's come out and he said, well, it's probably about once a new contract. He has to earn his new contract. And the headline figures out there is that he wants €10 million a year. We're just Kevin De Bruyne to take money. I mean, let's face it. That's what we're talking about. And my view is given his age, given what he's produced before, given his produce. You don't go near that. You say, listen. I don't know how many clubs out there want you. You stick around, if you want to, we can pay you this much, if not. Right? I think it's actually less than that. I think it was put out. It should be less, in my opinion. But then he goes out and he scores that phenomenal goal. Because that was a tremendous. I how good a goal was that and is there a reason we don't see this more often? Well, what's wrong with this guy? Well, I think he's coming off the back is knee over the last 80 months of having one or two small niggles, I think one or two injury problems, his health wasn't particularly good. He couldn't quite recover. Exactly. But you see, you see the guy when he plays and when he's on it, he's I said last night's silky, that's what he is. He's the goal is amazing. Technically he's brilliant. Finances well above my pay grade, but if you move the people around and a play of his quality, how much do you then have to go and spend to try and replace him? That seems more to me. So I would be applying to keep him on. You see what in seniors done and seniors made the move. I think Napoli will offer it in and around three or 4 million he's end got 12 13 million so money does talk, obviously. But if I'm uve, I think there's more pressing problems than the bar. I think they need number 9. Someone that he can actually play off. Thank you for the vote of confidence on. For your love. No. Well, listen, I think you might be on borrowed time. I think they need a new one, someone a bit fresher a little bit quicker. You can liken it to when I know I'm going back a long time, but when the Premier League had the number ten solar people like canton are more so bird camp and an Elk are Ian right where you've got a classic number ten who's silky in a quick set of 40 can finish. Maybe Moyes again might grow into that person, but sure I'm trying to time down to a new deal. You know what? I could see what you're saying. Me too. If they were going to play four four two or four two three one. But it doesn't look like this is what they're going to do. Because the reality is, you have his most important player assuming he was knocking wood. Right? So this is still a legally, it's still Syria. If the ball is and I think the problem is, what is the ballast position? Develop played his best football actually when he was a paladin when he was playing center forward..

"The next window, I said, that loosely there wasn't a window at the time, but the next month he brought in Julian dicks from West Ham and he brought in Neil ruddock to really tough guys, didn't really improve us because you've still got to have the quality, both of them are good players, but you're still going to have quality. And I looked at Roma last night cabin, it was like, I don't know where he's coming from. I know where he's coming from, but I don't know who he's getting at because make the Nas landed the night before him was brilliant at right back. He went from a three to a four. I thought vina played well at left. I thought Chris Smalling and a banyas were good. Maybe you might be leveling something at the midfield, but at the top end of the pitch Tammy Abraham was good. Michigan was good. Pellegrini was good. So I think it's one of those classic Jose cases where in 7 minutes he's gone from winning the game three one to three four down and somehow Jose's thinking in this is not my fault. It's got to be the players fault. I mean, the unusual position here. I suspect I will be of having to stick up for Mourinho a little bit. Just a tiny bit, although first I want to mention that one of the things back when Mourinho was now Mourinho on carlon Charlotte, of course, they text each other. They're Friends. Everybody's Friends. And they also this is kinder gentler Mourinho. But if you wanted to be mean and go back 15 years, I remember when one enchilada in 2007 when he won the what do you want the Champions League with Milan? What was his second championship? He Mourinho had a little swipe. Yeah. And he said, oh, that's fantastic. You know, he's won his second Champions League. There are other managers, of course, who won the second Champions League. But there's only one manager who gave up a three goal lead who had a three goal lead in a Champions League Final. And still lost the game. Now, again, they've made up its water under the bridge, but kind of like what comes around goes around because this wasn't a champion zig final, but it was the eternal city. It was Juventus. The only Champions League Final he's going to be playing in for some time. And they had a two goal lead and they gave up three goals and 7 minutes. It was three goals in 8 minutes in Istanbul as I recall. I'm sure Don remembers that. But where I agree with dawn is and we talked about on duty and the solution that you have made, again, where normal we would have done it if we'd been on the bench. No brainer. And in the same way, if your Mourinho and if you're on the rumor bench and you see the local goal to make a three two and you sense it in front of the television, I don't know what Don felt because he was really into the game commentating. But in front of the television, this is not over by far. And yet nothing from Mourinho, where you could Boulogne and go to a bag three, which doesn't like kumbo. Okay, okay. It is not because it doesn't like him. They can't play him, right? Or villa or I don't know anything, do something change something. But we go back to the bodo grim game. Very different game, but it's not my fault I've got rubbish players. I only have 11, the rest are useless. And it's the same trick that I used for the last ten years of his career where when there's something like this happening, other heavy defeat or I come back from the opposition. And he clearly should or could have done better or differently to not lose the game in that way. It's never as far as just watching his home and say, look, my players are weak, they should learn from me, not me from them. He said, at the end of the game, I was like, come on. Who says that now? Okay. To put it in context, what are you getting? What he said at the end, he did say something like that. He said, the players are for me. I don't need to cater, you know, I'm not going to cater to them. What he means is I'm a winner. I've got the winning mentality. I've got the track record that proves it. I want to work with these players for three years and bring them over to where I am. He was a long time ago, maybe. Poor where he thinks he should be. I take the point about that, but John, when I look at some of the some of the defending there, sure, yeah. No, no, but we're not talking about kids, right? So if you want to go and question young players or any experienced players, Chris modeling played for Manchester United for a very long time. He's a very good defender, at least in the eye. He's a very good, very, very good defender. He's a small Dini. Remember? Yeah, of course. And yet he made those errors. When he's talking about people who are too nice, this Chris Smalling, somebody who's too nice is that who he's talking about? Because he's talking about tell you what he's doing. Jules is absolutely spot on. He's not talking about any individual. What he's doing is just he shouldn't it off him and onto the place because in commentary I said last night, three one, the next goal in the game is the important one. So Locke gets it at three two. Then you can smell the game. And Jose's been in the game a long time. He's been a coach being a manager by 9 30 years. If I'm sitting in commentary saying, you may are back in the game at three two. You can't just then leave it up to the players because you're leaving it onto the players. By the way for an hour, Roma will play with a cigar or Chris smaller was excellent, make the Niles was excellent. Vina was excellent. Banjos was excellent. They all were midfield dysfunction really well. Sammy Abraham had one of his best games. Pellegrini looked lively. And was shot. So you can't then just say, well, for now, we were brilliant. And I'm the king because I'm the best manager in the world. But when we lose and we lose three, four at all on the players. Come on, you gotta take a bit more responsibility, that because I could smell the game going away from them in that 7 minutes. I think I should also point out. And again, double edged sword here, but the guy who is role was most talented player in my opinion, and most people watched on football. Nicolas daniella was unavailable to Mourinho. He's also the guy. Probably would have benched him anyway. Well, it's funny because when he did, it was the game when Felix scored the two goals. He was going to bring him on and then he didn't..

"I'm gab, he's Jules gray skies over West London but that's okay Jos because we're gonna brighten up everybody's day. We've got a pack show. We have the magic of the F 8 cop. We have Barcelona drawing, but shifting Coutinho ever. Wild game with burst your Dortmund's comeback interstellar still taught us a but let's start. In eternal city. Roma against Juventus. Three one up, you've come back to four three. We've got Don Hutchinson helping us. George, I want to start with you though, because UVA is part of their marketing, they have this thing called phenol Athenian till the end. And they're all known for Lake comebacks and stuff like that if you're a cynic you might say it's usually a penalty and injury time. This wasn't it. This was three one down, staring down the barrel and they come back score three times in just a few minutes and win four three. 7 minutes, yeah, pretty remarkable really to turn around when it looked like from our way in control, and they were there were three one up, although two goes on set pieces, one deflected shot. It was not like if they were playing off the park, but still, they were in command of the game. They were in control. They were in control. And to be fair to Alegre, that was the raccoon. It's a no brainer. We would have all done the same. It's not just a liquid who had a genius idea. Allegri wasn't there. Yeah, sorry, but from a cultural manager. And that worked, because morata gives the cross flow catalytic to make it three two. And then after that, you've got feeling that something is happening. Yeah, dawn. This momentum shift at the end that we saw in those last 20 minutes was this, is it a credit to you is the fact that they just kept going and kept believing and so on, or this is much Roma falling apart. And you're going to say it's a bit of both, I'm sure. Yes, I would say it's a little bit of both, but if you have to push me, I'd say more so, you have a character because as a coach, José Mourinho has been in the game for 30 years and at three two once I got back to three two, he should have smelt that ue with hundreds of momentum. Hundred at the same time, you've got to credit the way you they came back. I mean, the master stroke, if you like from landucci, which I think is an obvious one, I don't know what your feelings on market tell his best position his gap. Some people like him as a sort of pillow quarterback type of player. I think he's better as a number 8, but he can get 40 got his goal or took him on. That released him in western mckenney forward. They took more chances as dual said morata came on. He was better than Moyes again. So towards the end of the game, it was all UV. And the comeback inside 7 minutes was astonishing, but there was even more of a twist when delik got sent off and knew they got a penalty and the Roman born Pellegrini mister Penn so it was a game where you sit back afterwards and even this morning you're sort of wipe your brow and go and watch a game that was. Yeah, it was a tremendous game. I thought it was a tremendous spectacle so much incident in it. The hash is harsh, right? You know what? It's what the rules say. The thing about the lick is. We've seen this before. He gives away so many handballs. The first season, remember, he had four or 5 penalties. Exactly. And I think, you know, you see this now, the defenders are trained to just put your hands behind your back. And certainly that one's a bit different because it's dynamic, he's jumping into it. But Don, if he doesn't turn his back, then more naturally, his hands his arms stay in, and he doesn't put himself in that position, right? Yeah, you're right, gab. I think it's one of those where to sort of natural instinct as a player when you're going to take a shot and people might argue it should be brave I should take it on the chest, take it in the face, but it's not natural reaction turn you back and you think the ball is going to strike you in the face. So he turned his back then once his hands are in that sort of a natural position. It didn't really leave the referee anywhere to go off at the referee had a really good game. The only one where I questioned and I said it in commentary and I understand that I'll be absolutely in the minority and I'll be totally wrong on what I'm saying. It was just the feeling. Does he have to then send him off? I know the laws of the game, second yellow, he has to go, but it felt as though the way the game was going. It felt as though the penalty was enough punishment, but I'll stand corrected on that one. No, the first year was a handball as well, isn't it? I think you might be right. Yeah. Who gets sent off to the man has really large hands. Okay. And he's got big arms. He's a big boy, right? Josie Marino afterwards, it sounds worse translated in English than it sounds at Italian, right? Yeah. But he did come out and say, essentially, he didn't say his players were weak. He said, my players said, we were great for 70 minutes. He didn't blame the referee. He said, David masa had a phenomenal game. But he said, I have too many nice guys. In my team. Too many players who are good guys, good boys. I need some nasties. Don, this sounds like coach speak to me. I can kind of see what he means. You've been addressing them is that things. Is that a thing? Can a nice guy be professional and determined and have just enough eggs? There's being nice being that you have to be weak. And no, I think probably what he's getting at, which might be lost in translation is they're not street wise. They didn't, they didn't have enough. They weren't street wise enough to see the game out. I remember gaba Jules being at Liverpool when I was a youngster and grand soonest was the manager. It was a nice guy. One of my favorite managers, a real tough guy. And he actually said the same things he went as a week in what you can't see games through. He went too nice. He went, I'm going to bring in people like to do a better job..

"Club, which was stepping into a new era with the new stadium, probably the best newly built stadium in Europe. It's amazing. Right, right. They had arguably one of the best power for pound coaches in world football. Who had been operating above and beyond that his means for his time through Southampton and his team all the way through. Despite there being moments through the kind of pandemic era football without fans and stuff like that, where we, I think, fairly acknowledged that Marino was doing a pretty good job actually. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It then kind of returned to how we expected it was going to go. And as we've seen with Roma already, there have been incidents where that process of the third season Mourinho is now accelerating into a short and shorter time frame. Mourinho came out and literally repeated that if I speak line after the mainland game, which we'll talk about later. So sorry for the long monologue here. But what I'm saying is that I think that that hire for the long-term never mind spurs being top of the league for a little bit last season. For the long-term benefit of Tottenham Hotspur football club. The marine Ohio was wrong, and the process after firing him, Nuno was supposed to be what the 8th choice. And we shouldn't have known. Have known he was 8th choice. We knew too much about this and he came in with his authority, severely compromised from the beginning. A really good thread on spurs about this and saying that levy is obviously like a really good commercial mind. He's pushed.

"Miller home. So the good and the wrong way. So, you know, I don't think it's just one result. Per se, I did stop by the end of the last 5 Miller hole me get a shot. But the truth is, there's a reason you lose fight in a lot of your Manchester United. It's because there are big problems with the whole place. So they have to change. Nothing's going to change. Unless they make a change. Something has to change, but Manchester United have made a point of at least trying to find a manager that fits with the culture of the club. And as much as TV is right and seeing that Manchester United are about winning silverware, I think they want to respect the traditions of the club in winning silverware. And that was a big complaint around José Mourinho. And in all honesty, the complaints about the hiring of Jews and Mariner the time is the same kind of feelings I have around Antonio Conti. Proven winner. Yes, we know that record second to none will change in mentality within the dressing room. But then how does his personality clash with for want of a better description, the personality of Manchester United is a football club? I know we could talk about Mourinho's time there and finishing second, which he says is egregious accomplishment of his major career, take that for what you want. But I don't think anybody looks back on that on that spell with any real great affection for Mourinho. And that's a challenge for the board in weighing up Antonio Conti. Is he the fit? And if he's not, who is? And who's available? And right now, and we just had the list up. There aren't many people who are available. And that's the challenge for them. So they find themselves between this rock and this hard place about what do we want? What is needed in the short term to get us back on track so that we can be winning silverware in the way that we traditionally do? And you talk about managers not being available, and the name that I'm going to say now Jules is definitely not available, but we know that he has been a target for Manchester United in the past. Mauricio Pochettino. Could you ever see that happening? Right now you mean. Well, right now, if.

"For Sunday's Premier League match with West Ham. Wasn't a good night for José Mourinho's Roma either they would beaten by bodo glimpse and in group C this is how things are looking so far. They conceded 6 goals and that's the first time that a Mourinho side has conceded 6 goals in his managerial career which extends to over 1000 games. Joining me now and our young Agatha spoke to José Mourinho after this game. And he wasn't very nice about the players that he used, gab, was he? No, he was, and he basically came out and he said, well, look, you know, I played my second team and the reality is that my second team has much less quality in it than border glimpse first team. Now look, here's a curious thing. And people immediately are going to say, oh, look, it's same old Mourinho. You know, this is his way of sending a message to the ownership that they need more signings and you know, he only has 12 or 13 players he can trust and these second team guys are all rubbish. The curious thing is that most of these guys on the second team from port hamil to Carlos Paris to a barnier to jawara, these are all guys who actually played a lot of football last year under palo fonseca. And under parliament, I wrote my just missed out on qualifying for the Champions League and they went really deep in the Europa League. I think there's no mistaking. We knocked out by united in the semifinals. So frankly, when I look at this, I'm saying, what kind of message are you saying? All these players are terrible now that you're far worse than bottled limp. But then a different manager a year ago achieved some pretty impressive results with those supposedly terrible players. So I don't know. It feels like, you know, deja vu all over again with Mourinho. I hope I'm wrong. I hope you just said, oh, maybe this will be a great way of motivating them. No, I was wrong. This will backfire and he'll move on because he did trick me into thinking that he had learned lessons of the past and we saw a slightly different Mourinho. But no, this feels like he's totally up to his own old tricks. Taking a look at the set of our table, things are going a lot better for Roma there. Lots to talk about when it comes to the study of this weekend. But as you see Roma, a fourth right now, Napoli leading the proceedings with 24 points and Milan just behind them both of them remained unbeaten so far at this stage. But the reason you see inter and ube highlighted.

"We all stein with shock. Exit of Tuneup from the first leg. I watched it that comfortable. Well-managed rested rotated comfortable victory. I absolutely didn't expect anything other today than a than a than a standard victory or whatever ought to get to find that way through the game the way. The game unfolded watches from really toast. You know the when there's two games at the same time yanna both games. But my eyes were focused on this particular match. And we'll get into your nose Interview afterwards we saw what he said afterwards. But just the shock rob of this result and what it means. I mean just real quick look to the lineup robina. Okay you know. It's kind of a safe team. Changes nothing about the ordering belden star ikouebe. Lamelo insult goes back in the side delegate. A stars a number ten and you look at it the first star from this like okay kind of boring but may be understandable and both sides were didn't really impress of course in all the fun happened in the second rob Zagreb looked like they wanted to get back into the game. The football was unbelievable. The goals that they scored incredible the hat trick and it was just shocking to see the spurs side. Just go from trying to go from boring defensive to money's the game two then scurrying panicking and avenue not enough to get the result. An awful night for spurs on mean think of at the three europa league games. Obviously it was supposed resolve smell and there's money ninety three young. I was kinda thinking monday night. Might be tricky one. See them out of a mole probably leash. "Plenty to get to. But only one place to start spurs chelsea in the premier league and it's chelsea away from home getting a one. Nothing win the only goal in the match from the penalty spot jorgihno converts as chelsea picks up three big points that moves them up to six table. Four points. out of the top four spurs still stuck in a joining us for more. You're getting klinsmann and don hutchison. You're gonna start with you. Every time we evaluate spurs of late. I feel like the first question. Is we're spurs bad or was their opponent good. How do you break it down today. will you know me. I try to keep everything positive. When it's about spurs but a have be on today it's really difficult especially i forty five minutes to first. Half chelsea completely outplayed spurs. They got the lead with the penalty cake from georgina. Well-deserved served lead Spurs never created anything. The first forty five minutes. I mean their front line with the san benito's of burg line was pretty much not on the field and then they got a little bit more even in the second half I think chelsea should have been a little bit more. Clinical more decisive that could have scored a second or third one. That didn't do that. And that broad the spurs the last couple of minutes of the game back in the game and and they almost got venecia's there are almost had The win after the equalising header. Then it would have been one one and everybody would have asked well. It's not so bad. But i think it was a clearly well-deserved chelsea win Obviously that takes spurs now far away from the top spot via remain citizens. I think it's now fourteen points or something which makes a lot of spurs fans really happy today but Compliments to chelsea

Liverpool hit their stride in victory at Tottenham

"Six place firs hosting fifth-placed liverpool and this match did not disappoint liverpool running out three one winners for me. no alexander. Arnold monitor the scores for liverpool hoi with a brilliant goal for spurs but that's all they could muster liverpool then move into fourth jump west ham. Four points off the league lead spurs sitting six eight points behind league leaders manchester city. Steve nicol shocker. His life jurgen klinsmann with us tv. How good we're liverpool. Today i think on the team were there. Were excellent. you talk about open attack football. That's exactly what you go. You talk about creating chances. That's what you saw you got. Three goals disallowed and you other opportunities that maybe could have made this school lane way. Bigger than actually funny stop is with your first and six choice a box and then james melda then five year old. He's probably fourth choice in the middle of the park. I mean what performance really to dispose and play the way they did School the goal fantastic performance. You're going to attack has been slipping of late liverpool. What was the difference in this one. Well the defense was Liberal group created more chances and finish them off as well. I mean who who knows what would have happened. If someone's goal in the third minute would have been a regular goal by divorce rightfully so it was disallowed. But if that would have been the lead for spurs maybe different story. But i think than liverpool really controlled the game Scarlet three beautiful goals. Even if you know part A spurs pack but they never created enough throughout the ninety minutes. It was obviously a big blow to lose hurricane at halftime if injury again so deserved victory from liverpool cobble of outstanding performances from their side. I look at Tiago first and foremost he played an incredible game and obviously they have their strike spec scoring going forward shock. Oh what are you. Come away from this match. More impressed with what liverpool did or disappointed in spurs performance impressive what liverpool dead given given the issues that liverpool had come into the coming into this one as tv rightly pointed out. But at the same time. Don't don't let that disguises five. That i am hugely disappointed with so much about spurs on the performance today against this liverpool team who you know kind of makes if the time i thought spruce threatened to dominate the midfield. Because never pool. Don't have any real Baldwin's in their own midfield as as always with sonnen key and In they're talking line. They looked so bad on the counter attack. Key don't missy has to come off but then you look at what liverpool dead or semi spinach allowed them to do and the buildup to the first on robinson is allowed ten yards into the swiss hard before anybody thinks about getting clueless to picks out the pasta. The one player who's been running behind them all game long. And then it's a defensive mystique by dial for the second goal. Laurie should have done better tough but he wrote on should have done better And in the end despite the fact that maybe you can Yourself with the fact that he three goals three defensive mistakes liverpool despite all issues were by far the best team. You're gonna any issues. The spurs approach sounded well in all. They obviously almost called the goal. It was allowed for for someone. But then throughout the entire game that didn't create create enough hurricane until he obviously was subdued then because of the injury Was never really into the game. And it's it's just simply not enough liverpool. Look like they could score. You know every minute. I mean we had a couple of opportunities already in the first half and Obviously when you didn't have individual mistakes can happen in philly especially in the first two roles then You really look bad at the end of the day. Stevie i suppose proof today the an order for them to win games. They can't go to over the proper football team and we can't in utah men behind the ball. Then they can do that and it can break on you. But this became an open game and can't do an and jozies komo after the game and pretty much has not had one world appraiser liverpool only said is all the mistakes they made. Well let's say the mistakes and made is because of the pressure would because they were so open that the defenders can't handle it and liverpool school goals so listen supposed to meet today proved exactly what thought torty taw against the proper team. Not good enough. They have they have to sit down with the ball and try and be clever and get on the attack.

Is Mourinho to Blame for Spurs' Poor Form?

"It's thursday. i'm gap. He's jewels jobs. We got so much stuff going on because mountie. She'll put your gino winning his first trophies manager. I think his first kofi ever i. We'll be joined by franklin buff to talk a little bit about that in a minute. Manchester united top of the league first time in january. First time since the sir. Alex ferguson era by your munich. Out of the german cups is i don't mean the be. Let's start with tottenham hotspur because we've been talking about their chances are they're going to be better worse than last year. How they're pushing. I feel like i've seen this again. I think they've dropped ten points from leading positions. They played fulham last night. You figure you know not easy but full no time to prepare as well. We'll get to that in a minute. And there's more count sempe gab. They take the lead the play well for twenty five minutes and then they stop the talking and they just want to protect that lead. They want to control the game to manage the game. But there's another hour to go. But he's not a bad idea necessarily when you've sawn and harry kane and all these counter-attackers but you don't even counterattack. You do nothing. You just sit deep and you just wait and we saw that against wolves. What wolf scored in the end we against palace. Guess what in the end and now we see that a home at home against fulham where you just stop playing hurricane. One sean tonga. The whole game. That's his goal twenty minutes in after that. Nothing just nothing and i just don't understand why i'm more for protecting your lead in the last ten minutes you bring another center box in or i don't know you you put back five and you you make sure that you don't leave to more space and etc but no one. There's an hour to go. Don't give not extra confidence to the opposition team. Don't invite pressure. don't let them play. I i take your point. I'm wondering if maybe this was a game. Where i thought was very good when he was on the pitch. This is maybe a game where i always mentioned him. But if you have a lasalle so that you can bring on that may be all of a sudden you can keep the ball more. You can keep the ball further away. You can be a little bit more balanced in in how you do it. You know rather than going. I mean if you're if you're just right now do you go and you knock it down. Levi's store and say look. Don't look at me. This is the best i can do in this thing. That's true i don't. I'm sorry. I don't think that's the best you can do. I don't know the price. I lease the last time i spoke to some of them. They were happy but since december the six when they went top of the table the seven in the league. They lost two hundred four. I mean this is. This is not good enough. This is just not good enough. And i think you could say your needs better player or you need different profiles there and they're still. I still think that he gets his wrong. That tactics is wrong because the pleasure doing what he says. he's saying. Okay win the lead saw against arsenal in a second of and they were up and that was fine and they managed to get out and okay good but as we said against war against pilots against on this. Just not good enough. I'm sorry you keep talking. Last night. In a game against tim against fulham who had played three days three days before with the strongest team in the africa because he didn't play again for another week.

The case that Merson makes is that hurricane hostile. Look elsewhere if he wants to find that ultimate success Josie, Marino comes out. Every striker has ever managed, and every goal that that striker has ever scored. He may have messed up a little bit on the stats. Does have a point though. A. Poll from said but I could. I I. It's to do with having success on the bottom line is and I saw Josie Moran your. All the players starts from Melito Ibrahimovic. To Rinaldo and others who all scored. Goals from, but what what should remember as the teams, those goals were scored those particular clubs where either dominate in or close to dominate, and not only the domestic leagues, European football and what we have here is a player who, as on the shortlist for for most of the talk clubs to be the number nine. They weren't accurate, though I think he gate groper about another one hundred thirteen goals, but I think he quoted his number of appearances under, but anyway leaving that aside because I'm just thinking. The lockdown must have been agony for Joseph Marino, because he went three months without being on the back pages. So here he's. He's not a press conference going to put him back on the back pages tomorrow. Having a spat with a high profile pundit light pulled some bad. "If you're gonna suck a culture took you to the European champions league just a few months ago the final their roles you better have someone lined up I'm talking hot spot have because in the last few minutes they have announced that shows a marine yeah has been appointed as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur to replace Morenci apart your trainer who was sacked late last night marina has a contract that runs we are told until the end of the twenty twenty to twenty three season a short CPO statement put out a few minutes ago I made the point that marina is one of the world's most accomplished managers as I put it having won twenty five senior trophies there's a court from the man who made the decision to oust part you too you know and the rest of his coaching staff chairman Daniel levy ensures a levy says we have one of the most successful managers in football he has a wealth of experience can inspire teams and is a great tactician he has won almost every club his coach we believe he will bring energy and police to the dressing room and in that statement may be there is a the bones of an explanation as to why they decided now was the time they had to get rid of Pochettino who took and taking them to top four finishes for four seasons assuming this person struggle to do in the past and as we said to the European champions league final just a few months ago because the Spanish this season have really struggled that away from in particular has been very poor they have that humiliation against Bayern Munich in the European champions league and there have been persistent stories about splits within the dressing room all of course played out within the financial constraints departure Tino who's been operating under because he's basically not been able to spend any money a toll because they've been looking at spending hundreds of millions of pounds all nine new stadium which now is of course up and running and which party thing I will not now have the chance to grace with a title so really interesting that spurs have acted so swiftly before the news that marina was appointed of course the reaction to point you taking us asking was great shock the spurs supporters trust said last night was shocked and saddened to hear that he's gone and they said many fans thought he'd earned the right to turn things around they also questioned the timing of the move at the end of the international break rather than the beginning but that's irrelevant saying as a marine here quite clearly was lined up to replace him former spy start now BBC presenter Gary Lineker basically said good luck getting a better manager than put you to know I wonder if he still sticks by that could be interesting remark trying Austin one of his former colleagues so Chris Waddell told the baby safe he could understand the move due to the mall was job this season it's just all happened the other profession to the way you want it to the stadium calls the adoption of fortune so the wasn't money to spend these charts people hold a place we should have moved on unfortunately I'm kind of stand still and they call before they attend fourteenth division in the premier league but you should know about marina when start of another very interesting time I told

Man United's comeback stalls Man City's Premier League title win

"Have to start gentlemen. Don't we insure in a game at steeped in history with be echoes of that history tonight for Manchester United up against you vent as well. Certainly didn't look like it for let's say about eighty minutes of the game you've into bossing it leading. Should it be further in front you? Brunell, those sublime volley all they had to show for those twenty three shots and lo and behold, Manchester United storming back to win one not with the freekick and then the own goal near the end giving Josie muni owes men an unlikely victory Josie Mugniyah reacting to the game by cupping his ear to the tour in grand. After the game Josie Moreno on his actions at the full time. Whistle I was in. So for nineteen minutes. I'd probably shouldn't have done it with a cool head. I wouldn't have done it. But would my family and sold it including might into family. I reacted like this. Filet changes the game? We didn't have him in the first lake we introduced one to not for the free-kicks. But the crossers into the lady who always dominates in the air. While listen what let's clear one thing. Right. And my experience pleasant coaches, abused nineteen minutes in most games, right? Is pot. It's not right as part over. But once again on the first point once again, he stealing headlines from please. That's what he's doing here. It goes only cups. His ear comes on many goes in has an argument with Benicio who comes over. So it's all about Marino. Good visit Chauque sick. Secondly, a great result. As a great result. But I'm not buying. This was a great United performance because I use the what again that Stevie Lopes profligate. The only reason would end this game is because event this profligate in the final felt so decrepit United hanging against the team that appear in the final finishing other credit for coming by. So Allegra made the change Sheely off brought Bezeq Leo. Yeah. Anticipating the Fellini bowls into the box and all that. But it just made a little bit. But it might have been a great footballing performance. But this was a great marina performance. He has made a career by Britain renew performance twenty Chinese and some of the game show hope because they're messing China sees nothing. He said so bogged vengeance keep it you keep yourself in the game. Because you know, if you over extend you. You leave all kinds of pieces at least at least you keep yourself in the game. I you get this keeping yourself self in the game because you've vent this are messing Cianci's. Not because that's you. Tonight is set to be United set of defensively that workout when having all these chances United set of defensive you gave themselves in the game on and then bring on the likes of really later and only only because event is for profligate. I got nothing. Sits on the difference in quality between Manchester United, and you Venter's is is you. I kinda what marina does where he has teams. Second best was as some all you keep yourself in the game show. Don't you shut? Shut up show. He tries to shuttle. He did not show up show. They gave up numerous chances. But not because they were trying to get followed. No because because. Pick them apart with some good.

Jose Mourinho teetering as Man United's awful week ends in West Ham woe

"West Ham hosting Manchester, United. What's been a difficult week for United Josie. Marino big decision here, leaving Alexis Sanchez. Out of the eighteenth early on West Ham goes head in the six minute Poudel salad that Anderson here look show goes to sleep offsite, not govern then Philippi. I'm this love flake to shock. Good ball in from Atlanta west off the great styles. Reno's men down in the six minute nearly get back here in the twenty third new Kaku off the post finless the, yeah, the goes against him does real together across his month. Thirty ninth minute chance for United Scott Mattamy down in the box must have been a gust of would not according to marina wasn't. Never creek forty third minute another for West Ham, Andre Yarmolenka gonna just kind of throw this one towards goal gets a lucky bounce to nothing. I know famous Demonte. He's he's trying to obviously share with them. Away from gold deals comes out. He works on his left foot was a big deflation. Close them quicken off sixty four th minute. Little bit of a response from United cross comes in great. Save from Nukus tabby ounce, good shave beyond severe crucial point a game on other crystal point in the game was the talking point of the whole week, an accountancy poke poke who started, but let's be honest, did not play well and was taken off Marcus rash furred in gets the goal seventy. First minutes. Suddenly we've got a game Marino feeling good, Arcus Rushworth another talking point. You get Madrid, fields talking points remind United why he doesn't get more game time. One of them seventy four th minute. Are not which one on one pass Mark noble and that'll do it. Anybody wants to defend great finish my not which was injured the week before back in the side, capped off a fine day for the most three one. The final scores second win of the season for West Ham, United seven matches played just ten points to show for it. Here's Josie. Marino had to say after the defeat. The last couple of games about maybe a lack of intensity. Was that a problem again today? Well, I think at him team that comes with that mental fragility of the bed results coming here and after five minutes is is losing one Neil is not the best way to start. Off-site, but no VR in visine Lanzmann mistake and angle makes tunnel where. Where we know that Jamil inquiries very, very, very left-footed. We know that we have to to cover that side. We have Matete John on the ball with have looked show and and Lindelof very close by. We are not aggressive and intense enough to close that that short and then mail losing to new. And then instead of linesmen mistake is the referee's mistake is an fall is a fallen on Marcus rush. Wirtz Zabaleta doesn't have an attempt to play the ball just just. Pool the player from Heinz. And then the go-to again kills mentally the team that had the reaction had a little bit of of the.
