"Will be our Carl Anthony towns, Nas read and Greg Monroe, Monroe played well for Minnesota during the whole COVID stretch when one of a bunch of guys were being shuffled around the league entirely. So yeah, so there it is. We'll see where that goes from. But yeah, they took them away. He was just finished the ten day with Utah, and there was some thought he may stick in Utah, and he may have stayed there because Utah's without you as abuke was their third string center, but sounds like Greg Monroe maybe. Maybe he would rather be in Minnesota. I don't know what the situation was, maybe. You taught him want to go. But yeah, that's where we're at for now. He was tired of being caught in between the hatred between Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert. And he just said, I can't deal with this anymore. I'm going back to Minnesota. That has to be what happened. That's it. RJ and emhart was waved by the cabs Keith. You were a little bit surprised by this one, but we're speculating that maybe that's making some room for Moses Brown. Yeah, so they had done a full sequence of moves in recent weeks where Moses Brown was on a ten day nem hard was on a two way than two way got converted, Brown signed to a two way. My guess is now they know they might not have Jared Allen for maybe the plan, maybe the playoffs if they get there. It does sound like everyone will be back for the next game. So that's huge. And that's really welcome news. But you need one more big damn hards clearly the last guy on the roster. And once again, as a reminder, two way players are not playoff eligible. That's going to come up in a couple more of these transactions that we're going to discuss as well. So yeah, so get Moses Brown converted over there and get him into the lineup. It's been starting for them over the last week while both Allen and mobile have been out..

"It up. It ties into the third point really well too, because during these games, it can be easy to take for granted that he is just kind of messing around. He is just kind of toying with Moses Brown and he still gets, I think he had 37 and 13 assists or something in that game. Just kind of playing in his own speed, taking his own pace and that's against the Cavs team that while short handed has a lot to play for, like the math, they've run up against teams that are missing guys, but desperate teams. And Luke is just doing his thing, you know, slinging through pick and rolls, no problem. He can do that. And he can mess with you and still put up huge numbers and still win. And the team is structured in a way now where it really, it really suits him incredibly well in terms of the defensive support he gets, how small they're playing now in the spacing that puts on the floor, just incredibly dangerous stuff. And I love, I love the idea of him as a guy who could pop in the postseason and get to the finals earlier than expected, whether that's this season, whatever season that ends up being, those things always, they just completely blindside you. And this, I have a hard time, you know, we've talked about this. I have a hard time seeing how anyone beats Phoenix, which maybe makes it perfect for that kind of blind sighting surprise whether it's him, whether it's jaw or whoever it is, if anyone's going to make that kind of leap, you have to do it against a Titan like the suns and you have to tear down a team that's that good to get there. Yeah, I want to talk about Phoenix in a second because we were texting about that last night. And I think it's on topic. The thing with the thing with Dallas,.

"Because he is going to opt out. And that's not a criticism at all. That's just a smart play. On his part to maximize his earnings. So what I threw together was Tim Hardaway junior max equivalent in a first round pick going back to Brooklyn. Now the pick would have to be a little bit further down the line because the maths have this obligation owed to the next. But you can write that as in two years after that pick is conveyed. And get it out a couple of years. Sure. That end there. Plus, if you're Brooklyn, you may not be upset about getting a pick further down the line because who knows what Dallas will look like. In a few years. And then heading back to Dallas, Kyrie Irving and Paul Millsap, just to kind of balance on rosters a little bit there. My thought process was Joe Harris is now down if you're getting rid of Kyrie Irving or not going to have them, you're going to have James Harden on the ball all the time anyway. Is your primary facilitator. So why not get another shooter out there and Hardaway? Is a stretch big who gives them something different from all their other bigs? Because you can step out and shoot. He's also a pretty good shot blocker, something they don't necessarily have right now, then the pick is just kind of that in there to make up for the difference in talent. Millsap hasn't exactly worked out great, so you move on from him and then Irving to Dallas. And I think if you're the Mavs, the idea of a Kyrie Luca porzingis trio, supplemented by serviceable bigs, cauli Stein, Powell, bobon, Moses Brown, and then you've got enough shooting on the wing and in Reggie Bullock. I think Kyrie's kind of the ideal guy because he's played for years, alongside how usage players. For whether it be LeBron or Kevin Durant and now Kevin Durant James Harden. So I think that he could thrive next to Luca, playing that kind of role. So that was the one that kind of jumped out as me. At me rather, just because I think then the Mavs are a team I could see maybe saying, let's do it. Let's kind of go all in and go. The one I really liked was Toronto. Something which you could see acam or something like that? Yeah, and that's where it was going with something built around siakam. Your challenge, if you're the raptors, though, is Canada has this vaccine mandate coming in the middle of January, so that kind of ruins the whole thing right there. So try to stay clear of any of that kind of stuff. But I think the bigger point in all of this and please let us know in the comments if you know what trade you like. We should have been clear with a disclaimer. We took Ben Simmons for Kyrie. I was basically a straight up swap off the table. Just too easy. I think that's almost too easy and too quick to get to. So we took that off the table. But let us know your favorite carrying earnings trades, let us know if you like either one we came up with, let us know if you hate either one we came up with. But the real point of this was it's not easy. This is hard to find a landing spot. And Keith, and if I had a vote, I would vote for your trade because I have the Mavs is making more sense as a landing spot..

So, with this, with this trade going down, obviously, the other part of this is Moses Brown and you know for this other to give up a first-round pick, make sure everyone is not crazy about that. Maybe they're thinking of this deal. Could have been made without the first round pick but the way I see it is that first round pick if you if it's Moses Brown. I mean I just I'm almost surprised if the Thunder put them in this dead. I mean, I would I'm not surprised that they stopped him, but I'm just kind of like if you're the Celtics. I just I don't see a trade that you get more value for Kemba Walker than this. I mean, you get a young prospects. Twenty-three years old, who has shown potential this season. I mean, he he slapped nine ball with a nine blocks night. Grab 19, rebounds and 1/2 against the southeast. So, they know better than anybody that this guy has not only potential. He can ball, you know, On Any Given night. How do you feel about someone like that coming in when you have Robert Williams essentially playing that same role? Well, the thing I like about the facts, the statue gave, but that was the one off when you think about those number of rebounds, he's able to get. You had 19 rebounds in 1/2 and only got four more for the game. Something's going on there. I think he is, he's physically, right? It would take it away. And yeah. Yep. He's a big guy. He can do a lot of different things, but I just want to again just be more cognizant of what this team has and that's what are the next moves right now. And the most important right now is it coaching Carousel? Who's going to be that guy? Who's going to come in and do the job as a coach? I don't think that he can talk about all these other things right now. But until you go out and get the guy who's going to coach your team and knowing what kind of players he wants in that system, you know, that that is the most important thing. So it's have to do who are some of the new name that you like or has anything changed in your opinion? Who who's your favorite family right now? Well, my favorite is trying to fix the guy that page talks about smart Jackson, but here, here's my thought, you a dark horse..

"Down guns or teaching lessons. I remember way back. I mean my dad would quiz us on gun safety stuff things like sagan. I mean we were who nine ten which is more deadly shotgun or rifle. I'd say well. I think they're equally deadly. Okay good good answer and it just like one thing after another always quizzing always putting it in your head always being careful of muzzle discipline. At what age should you take somebody out shooting. Clearly it depends on the child. We were out shooting. I don't know eight. Probably seven eight. Well we bb guns early then twenty twos just just cool stuff Oh let's get grab bill here just popped up here. Line four out of colorado. Hey bill your own gun talk. How can we help you sir. My aunt you are. You're on okay to question for your time. Love the show. I've got a ruger blackhawk. Forty one meg handgun and i was told at a local gun store that they are discontinuing. That round is that true. F- okay 'cause. I look at my henry catalog. And there's some forty-one megs for the big boy. Yeah no they're not no not now. There may be some company decided. They're not going to load it. But nobody was like officially discontinuing before the one mega that. Emily will be available. However i will say this. Save your brass always save. You brass right totally okay. Good deal good deal x. Question is i'm left. Handed shooter and i have a browning. Eps which loads and discharges out the bottom. I love those. Yeah so how does one Effectively clean that. Because i can't get all the way in there or am i missing something. Do you have the manual on disassembly. Oh yeah i kept. I kept the box. I'm sure i have the manual. Take a look at the manual. And if you don't have any more until you actually came with a gun. This is to sound crazy but like the source of information. Now is youtube if you go to youtube and put in there how to clear browning. Eps there are guarantee you. Somebody somewhere has made a video of that it. Just it's the weirdest thing. If i want to know almost how to do anything. Change this particular life. I have a smoke hood above my my oven at the house. Trying to change out a halogen light bulb in it and looked and sure enough. There's like six video so how to change the helicopter. Lightbulb on the smoke it so you got to know. It's there okay. So but i i like to. Psi shoot for the left side as well you got jackson. It's very reminiscent of the ethica. Thirty seven isn't it I familiar with that gun but yeah ok. Thirty seven mossberg. Five hundred okay. Well the the thirty seven months older but he also had the downward ejection like that. So you're not loading it left or right. It's a truly ambidextrous is a really nice shotgun. So that's what i would i would. I would check the manual first and then failing that if that doesn't get what what you want then check you to ensure they'll fix you up appreciate call bill and you know. Have good luck with that. That is a very nice shotgun for those. Who've never had one hand i wanted to go. That's pretty sweet. And if you're a lefty yes oh that makes sense. It works right and left. He's equally is truly extra spot at each action. Not that i can't use from either side works fine so i mean okay. What's a long shot gun shop. We were trying to break it. Play dark forty or fifty yards sixty yards. Here ain't seen nothing way we here. What's coming up next quarrels longest clay. Pigeons shot very cool. Paid six talk..

"Feel comfortable giving Fournier like a long-term deal, if it's anything above like $15 a year, and I honestly, I'll walk in this later. But I don't, I think is Mark. It's going to be pretty soft. Just based on the need, the teams that have cap room, and what those teams needs are just going through it. It's just there's, there's better Alternatives that have in Forney. I don't think there's a huge Evan Fournier fan out there. You look at other Alternatives and then we'll see. I think that there will be it. Only, it only takes one, but it only takes one of the month and if you're the Memphis Grizzlies, what else you going to do? Like, see you can. You can sign. Tim Hardaway. Jr, or Wilburton. Knobs are going to sign tomorrow. I can't hear tell you real life as good and Kelly oubre sucks and also may end up back where he is even like I said, it's hard to tell what you say, like I just think that that somebody will will likely sign him. Know. There are others who agree wage. You again, Bobbie marks was on whatever podcast and he was saying that, I think it was Chris forsberg, right? Where he was ready, jet, he threw out that that Rob Williams, his extension would be seventy million dollars. That's why I thought he was talking about, Evan Fournier and he's going to get twelve, thirteen, I think it's over thirteen million, great sign him up, if it gets 18 and we can talk about that, I mean, we can sort of Ender, if you want. Like where are they now in terms of the salary cap? If the expectation that I set is that they can be around ten million dollars over the tax. That seems to be the number that would be reasonable. If they were like, a top-tier contender could probably do. I think that, I don't even know if they'll be able to go that high with where they, you know, being the same thing going out and in round one. But if used as a number You can sort of make that work at Forty-Eight signs for 18. And if you go beyond that, then you really have to do like, you have to trade, Tristan Thompson in a way that certain trademark, a smart. And that I think is the number that most people sort of Envision cuz they thought he makes. Now, if he makes twelve or thirteen, then the question that you asked before, like, what are you going to do with the taxpayer mid-level becomes an actual like meaningful question, right? Cuz if that's bought you from ten to Fifteen million and your budget is 10:00, it doesn't matter who you can sign with it cuz you can't use it. If you open up that 5 million as usable, then maybe you can use it. Also, there's also a roster spot issue that comes into play. Like, can you find me? See, who wants to take Carson Edwards, it's a question. How do they not jumping in this deal? Probably, cuz they can make the money work cuz they need to Brown was for salary or matching probably, so Edwards manager, but I think, I mean, so, the reason that they did that.

"And it may be that it is a trade down, you know, at the trade deadline or something where you do pay a decent amount in order to make that happen. Would you trade summer Kyle Anderson? Not now, I think it's even less likely to happen. Now, like we really don't have anybody who assuming you have a, you have assuming you're doing a subsequent trade for a confidence-boosting flickered. I wouldn't just cuz I like Marcus Smart, but I get the idea. You've heard the same thing as me. I assume they talked about at the trade deadline. They talk about that exact trade of the trade deadline. I don't know who said, no, they talked about it. Seriously, it didn't happen. Why didn't happen? I don't know. But like this is not Right? They had the conversation and it's understandable why. I understand that a little bit less from from Memphis aside cuz they already have like a lot of guys who are sort of the smart profile, right? That's offensive like dealing with like the stopper smart profile but they have a lot of guys who are sort of in a bind, right? Like it's it's always Memphis way at this point even if they don't if they don't mean to it or if God isn't doesn't fit exactly into that. Although he's not a shooter either. Really so long. I don't know. I would not make the trade. We have talked. I've talked about this with everybody that I'm not rational at Marcus Smart because I like Marcus Smart and so I wouldn't want to trade him but it does make sense like smart feel better about. Like it is, it is again, if you without good back-up plan in place behind smart right now then I don't make that trade either and looking around the the league. It's tough to find a get them because this this is a deal if you bring that Fournier and you get smart back into a situation where he's again, much more past first and shoot first, which case had a lot of success in the you know a couple of years ago and during the Kyrie era. I think that's a great way. The player you want in the B and allows them to get focus. More energy on the defense to, which I think would be a help to after I think take a little bit of a step back in the area last year. So.

"And you can't necessarily account for that, and we've learned that lesson in recent free agency periods, where the Celtics have a line of reasonability, G, other teams do something that they don't think is reasonable. But yes, the, the capability of having those to remain with the team is much more in play now than it than it was before this trade and on the smart front. Like he's the starting point guard now and if you believe that he's going to be your starting point guard, be on this year, which I actually think is a completely reasonable thing. I thought were sort of talking offline in Texas about like how I you know how I think it's an intelligent way to build a team around Jalen and Jason especially if Jason's going to become more and more of a point forward and like to build defensive flexibility around them. They get they took you to do that in a way that most other young Stars don't if they don't play the wing and so having Marcus be your point guard would be fine and if the talk about how he wants an extension is true like his max extensions only twenty percent more than a month. Now like you could very reasonably just extend Marcus for 20% more than he makes now at a couple of years and have them be your spark. You're starting point guard and I think that also becomes more likely now that campus out of the picture because you need a point guard. And that's not to say that I expect that to actually happen. But like, I, If you would ask me yesterday, that seemed less likely than it does now, right? Right, for sure. And, I mean, to be honest, there's just something whatever. When Kyrie walked out the door and 2019, I thought this was the Avenue they were going to pursue at the time, it's be like, okay, see what smart? A point guard looks like full-time wage and we saw how that turned out internet, obviously very well for a year, when Campbell's healthy. But then when sideways. So now that's the The Logical fit. They're not to say that they won't bring in, you know, they, they could test his value on the market right now. And if they find a better fit, I think that could certainly be in play or allow wage. Go to just to be a, the do everything six-man. I think that could be in play too, but the odds again, went up a lot in addition to Forney being around for First Merit, being around town. Next season, let's talk about Horford for a minute. In.

"Sit somebody on the bench, who, who's a veteran instead of trying to force them all off work together cuz it won't work, right. And I agree, a hundred percent and hopefully that is a, you know, they're they're far better position to see how do that here. But here's why I think that even you don't even need to keep. I like your plane of, you know, just just waiting until a good deal services for for Tristan, whether it's this summer. I mean, maybe you have to wait halfway through during the season when some team gets desperate or just dead. It's like okay, that's the guy can, you know, put us over the top or someone gets hurt so he becomes, you know, appealing at 9 million dollars whatever. But the sun is getting Moses Brown, here has to be like a Ford Center, who could you know, Tristan Thompson is far better than Moses brown, but Moses Brown makes ten per-cent of what Tristan Thompson does. And if you only need a guy like that, periodically, assuming that they took grows a little bit as a player at 21, he's not going to put the statue, didn't in OKC because he's not going to play as much on the team that, you know, isn't meant to lose. But there is some some legit wage was there. And so, could he fill in here? They're sure. So you don't necessarily even need to keep Thompson as the injury protection dep. It would be nice to have obviously but you don't need that with long brown being in the mix now and so you can really pick your spot there if Thompson a little better for the Celtics whenever you find something that looks appealing. Oh. Yeah. I mean. Absolutely. I'm not saying that the ideal is to keep Tristan Thompson. The the ideal would be dead. That you move him and like, get the whole band back together, re-sign Aron Baynes for the minimum, right? Like that's actually what you would want to do. You would want a veteran big-bodied to sort of balance out your options veteran third Center, who just isn't going to play a whole lot and they make the minimum and you get out of that nine million. In in nine, ten million that, that Thompson is making. You are a deploy at somewhere else on the roster. In better use, I'm just saying like if you can't because if nobody wants him and your options are, I can trade them somewhere, but I have to give up next year's pick. Which means that then wouldn't autistic trade comes up? I can't trade anything until three years out from now like you can't encumber your future too greatly in terms of all trades and you're the way that you're going to be adding, you know, young Talon the future too..

Play some hoops. Oh, that's cool. All right. I got a little NFL stuff for this afternoon. Patrick Mahomes. Perhaps you've heard of him. He is the quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs. And, um, he's on the cover of the new Madden. Game. Is that game out yet? Or just they think it comes out next month. I think that's the they usually tell us who's on the cover weeks in advance. Yeah, anyway, Patty Mahomes, you know that he played the Super Bowl against a guy named Tom Brady. He lost that one. He won his prior Super Bowl, but Someone named Tom Brady was the quarterback for those Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and they beat Patrick Mahomes, but the two of them were actually together. It's not Photoshop. They were together for the photo shoot for the Madden cover. So would you fellas talk about Patrick? Be with a guy like Tom and be able to just kind of talk to him and get advice from them. Whenever we're at the shoot, shooting the photos, stuff like that, Um, and it's always it's always a good deal. He's a great dude, and he's willing to give it by some. I mean, it's uh it's cool. Just hopefully Next time we can beat them and they're not beating me when I'm going to didn't shoot with them. There you go. Patrick Mahomes. It was fun. Getting advice from Tom Brady. What kind of advice? Do you think that is, though? I mean, does he go? Hey, Tom. I know your wife's a model. Should I go with my left side or my right side in this picture? Yeah, that's a good point. I don't know how that mean. Tom's not going to give him the football secrets to the guy. He had to fight tooth and nail to beat the Super Bowl. You think Tom Brady deflated the camera before they took the photos? Because it gave him an opportunity. Some kind of advantage he tried to do. He tried to deflate Patty Mahomes. His hair tone that down, Hmm. I love that my home scared. He's just got the right attitude about things. And of course, he's thrilled to be on the cover of Madden 22. I guess they're calling this. I mean, it's obviously an honor to be back on the cover of mad again. I mean, it's It's something that you look up to as a kid as you want to be on the cover, and for me, it's second time to be on that thing. I didn't even know you could be audited second time. That's pretty awesome. Alright. The coach of that squad is one Andy Reid, and they had a fellow on the team named Levian Bell Levian Bell used to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Then he wound up out there in Kansas City. Well, what's his problem? He said he would never play again for Andy Reid. Yeah, he He basically said that he dislikes Andy Reid. He didn't give him the ball. Well enough, and he's never going to play for him again. Well, here's what Andy has to say about that. I really enjoyed my time with him here. So, um, uh I appreciated the way he handled things and did his business and yes, and productive bounce for us, and I'm pulling for him in the future. I mean, that's how that's how I roll. People say things they say things stuff. Um, I just move on and I wish him the best, you know. Okay. There you go. Andy Reid. It's like water on the duck's back. It's probably the best way to handle it. There. Let Latvian believe Ian We'll see what happens with him. Right? What else we have going on in sports today? Well, last night, you already mentioned it. Once you and I were right about the NBA game. Jodi, of course, was incorrect. Whether he knew it or not. He picked the Brooklyn Nets last night and they get beat by the Milwaukee Bucks. That means the series is now tied at three. We are going to Brooklyn for Game seven. One of those magical words in the playoffs. Game seven Saturday night. 8 30 Tonight We've got two NBA matchups. Philly at Atlanta That series is 32 Hawks, and then we've got Donovan Mitchell. And the Utah Jazz taken on the coolest Clippers. Leonard again going to be out for their game six tonight, Clippers Do lead that series 3 to 2 that one's coming up at 10. PM Some other NBA news to throw in as well. Brad Stevens, making his first move as the new Boston Celtics general manager, he has traded away Kimball Walker Kimba is going to Oklahoma City, Al Horford, Moses Brown and some pics being exchanged in that And then, of course, Devin Booker, R Kentucky guy he has found these sons in four guy. Have you seen that video? Terry? The guy that was in the fight with the fan? The Nuggets fans? Yes, Yes, Evidently, the way that started. I heard this on Nick Coffee Show this morning on 7 90. He explained the whole thing. Because all we see is the Sun's fan, just giving it to the Nuggets fanned hockey style. You know, he's got the the jersey pulled over his head, just kind of giving him the upper cuts and Looks at the other guy and says sons and four will evidently that poor sons fan head to take a lot of grief before it got to that point fans yelling at him, taunting him pouring beer on his head. He stayed calm through the entire thing until And then, of course, he took it into his own hands. Kind of beat up the Denver fan. Well, Devin Booker right after that gets out on Twitter. Hey, I need this guy's info. Well, they found him for Devin Booker. Devon gonna send him an autographed Suns jersey and they're going to make sure he makes it to a game in the Western Conference finals, so love it. It's fantastic, and also the guy was quoted by media as saying. He's not a violent person. He always thinks to go with peace first, but he had reached his point. He said he had a list of part of his interview. He'd been in two fights in his life. He was one and one, he said. Well, now he's been in three and he's got a winning record. And, uh Some global into the Western Conference finals Coming some USDA's rolling on Richard Bland is in a five under Richard Bland. What? Who? Yeah, he shot a 67 today. Russell Henley, who was leading after yesterday, doesn't start playing until Now. No, actually until four o'clock our time. So we'll see what he can do. He's four under who stays in is still on the course. But he's a three under along with Francesco Molinari. Three under and a lot of these guys are just getting started. Now. Brooks kept, for instance, who was two under Yesterday hasn't played yet again today because they're on the West Coast and it's just going to take a while for all that to happen. Bryson D. Shambo had a much better day today. Excuse me shooting to under So he is even after two rounds of the U. S open back in a minute. Here's a question. Who will you invite to dinner First? "Too long that all kind of falls by the wayside it's like but you know what the guy gets it done. The guy wins so if he wins we don't have to talk about those flaws but if he loses all those things are going to pop up and wow he's the most incomplete two time. Mvp this league is ever seen. Yeah i agree. But i also think brandon's point about he won't in the in the here and the now. There will be a lot of fake asterisks attached to a lot of potential this year but over the time line of history those fade away and the guy who is as one of the most underrated players of all time moses malone. He's a three time. Mvp who did also by the way did not have a complete game was just a physical monster. But he's a champion was a champion one of the greatest teams alongside dr j. andrew tony and others and it's like oh there's nothing missing from his resume and your essentially your three rolling the rest of your career after that. I also do think that a championship this year. Which obviously you have to win games seven and then when a couple more rounds might unlock a three or better yet. Honest moving forward. Because you don't have that added weight and pressure on you. But wilde's i want to go back to something because we all talk about bud. And how buds job is on the line. It's i don't think anyone in the front office is going to be fired in. Milwaukee wanna make that very clear but if they win then a lot of this. Offseason gets papered over lecturer member. They had dom bogdonovich who right now is playing great for a team that is still playing and they blew it. They just they. They got leaked too early. The league stepped in now. He plays for the hawks the other thing that i can't believe more people aren't talking about. Is this this offseason. They had to go get a point. Guard chris paul was there. He went for over a rubio and one. Now chris paul i think preferred phoenix and he was gonna do right by him but milwaukee preferred the younger jrue holiday. They traded four first round picks george hill and another player. Eric bledsoe to get through holiday. If they lose you look at it and say guys. You think you'll to loss. If you had chris paul or would you be the favorites when we're seeing what chris paul's doing because it's not like drew has been brilliant. This postseason so it is on honest to make everybody look better to make bud in this look better to make the front office in and no one up and down off season better like all of this is on because it has great middleton his this every time it's a what's happening i'll tell you what's happening license you just you've rusher on him you buy for for year. We're i mean kevin he. He's been on bud for year. Now since i've been on this show in probably longer than that to me. I put more blame on janas than bud your superstar in the nba. Warren guy could impact the entire outcome of of game in the nfl. You need auto let all eleven all twenty. Two you seen superstars do before have we just seen it. What game five k. D. katie and a half help from joe hairs now yet. Jeff green stepped up and a monster game. But you had katie. Go for forty nine points with that type of team. Banged up james harden out there on one leg and they win so when i look at the nba in situations like this. Yes you got. You got bud. That could've done some different. Things changed things up but man. I'll put more on honest than i do. Bug a. k. o. I put it all on us. And here's the thing. Nick and i know we're up against hip but i'll throw it to you real quick. This is your best chance. This is like he thought he could beat the big right now. You've got a big one and like one another the hamstring on one in order. Yes this is it. this isn't like all. Let's get them next year next year. The team's going to be twice as good. So this is your only opportunity. If you squander this it might not come around again. Eighty is going to be very hard for eighteen that loses to the nets in their current state to look themselves in the off season. And say oh. We'll get him next year. You'll won't like this will be your best chance and so wild. I agree with that. Thanks new saying that every time off medals thirty to eleven last night colonel. That's loss no metal durant nick who did a better last night. Well the bronze medals going to surprise some people because the bronze medalist in an unprecedented occurrence for metals. Didn't actually play last night. The bronze medalist is let me explain. So i got a tweet from someone's talking about trae saying i don't know why nick right has turned on my son trey and i'm like oh this guy does the bit that i do with luca where you claim. Someone's your son who isn't so i. Click on his palm like. Oh not a bit. This is trays actual father. So i responded. Like hey when i turn on your son. So he responded as well. He's like yeah. I don't know you were always making show the tweet. You're always as you said he should have been the number two pick out oklahoma. Not sure why. You're so hard on and listen to mr young in detroit. Two points one is when. I say he's infuriating to root against. That's a compliment. That's first of all second of all when i say. He hung spouse because he hunts spouse. It's a good strategy but it's maddening so trey you get a bronze medal. Because i don't want your dad me anymore. Silver medal to people that actually played last night. Janas you honest. The silver thirty and seventeen. We just been a long time talking around. And we don't need to spend much more dot amazing first-half good second half but eight of nine in the first half seventeen points and then the gold medalist best player last night. Chris middleton every time the made a push. Wild middleton answered with one of these jump shots he was fantastic. Play to stop iran. Yeah absolutely he also had a. He had vowed on a three pointer when the nets cut to five which was massive. Shaw james harden like drawn fouls three. Who does that huge. James how you take from just missing the garbage. "There He is great work by detail. We were talking, Tom, you and I about about Carlisle and I think on the face of it. He gets the job that he wants. He gets whatever job he wants. I will say this about Boston because it's an interesting fit. Really interesting fit for Rick Carlisle. I think there's a maybe Brad Stevens is going to operate like a normal like a normal GM. And he'll be very predictable and the things that he does and will be, um, will be in line with what one might might project. I do, though, think there's a chance it goes a different way. Brad Stevens came from college. It's highly doubted by his by his peers. Many of his peers did not think you'd be successful. He didn't come to the normal coaching club and most people that have success. Believe that their path because it's their path. Offer some real wisdom into the keys to success. I make that mistake. We all make the mistake. The reality is just because you were successful doesn't mean your path is the way to do it. But Brad Stevens Is very possibly inclined to think that you need to think outside the box more that there is coaching talent out there. That's under appreciated that the normal route to being a head coach in the NBA isn't the only route because because he took a different journey. So I'll be interested because car allows the obvious choice is the obvious choice. I just don't know if Brad Stevens is it Take the obvious choice kind of guy. Okay, that said the place and I think actually makes a lot of sense. The fit that I think would be incredible. Is Philadelphia. The problem becomes you say to me, Bill? Yes. What's up, honey? There. There. They got a coach. They do. Do you have a coach? They do now, Do they have a coach? They still have a chance to win an NBA championship this year, right either they're in a bad spot. Their best but blowing back to back 18 point leads. Um, what's the word? I'm looking for? A good I'm really articulate. I'm really good at this radio thing Got into the right business. It ain't good. But they can still do it. That said that they don't let me give you some facts. Here's a few points of, um perspective and context. One. I don't think it matters that Doc Rivers is in the first year in in Philadelphia. If you decide I've already decided doesn't mean everyone else has doesn't mean Daryl Morey has but have one Daryl Morey were to decide or you Philly fans. That docs, not the guy. He doesn't matter. Is there a year? Same was true for Stan Van Gundy. He gone David Griffin is not good at hiring head coaches. The GM of of the pelicans. He is good firing them. I mean, you gotta have it right, right. He's got a half of it, right. The other has kind of important, But you can you can make that move. It's also true that Daryl Morey, the not even the G on the president of operations, did not hire did not hire Doc Rivers. Right? Elton Brand hires Doc Rivers and then in a shocking move Billy hires Daryl Morey over Elton Brand. It's an awkward setup. And Elton Brand's handpicked head coach has not worked brands the GM John Morris, his boss, Doc Rivers, just friendly reminder. Uh, here's what Dark coach playoff teams have done. Uh, three of them. Three are three of the 13 in NBA history to blow through one series leads he has blown 632 series leads in his career. And how does that apply to Philly? Do you say Well, the trend continues. In a way he has given up back to back. 18 plus point leads this postseason, including the 26 point or the other day on the verge of losing to the Atlanta Hawks. I like the Hawks. Have been on the Hawks. They shouldn't be Philly and in the last two postseasons, so this one and then with the Clippers, his teams are 11 and five went up by 16 points or more. The rest of the N B a 76 3. It's not rocket science. Is that right is that's not good. He's not good in the postseason coaching basketball, which last I checked is sort of an important part of the job. So I think Rick Carlisle makes a lot of sense in Philly. I think New Orleans is an interesting job. Mean there is talent there. Normally a guy like Carlisle. Normally would wait because it's you don't usually have a lot of great jobs that are open. Because if it was a great job, there would've been success and there was success. The previous coach would not have been fired that that's kind of the way that that that goes down. However. Portland's interesting I I think it's I don't think it's the job people going to run because it's hard to bring more talent, but Damian Lillard's amazing The guys is an absolute superstar. Boston's I think is a great It's obviously it's obviously a great job. It's a great job. Because you've got talent there. And I think New Orleans is a really, really good job because as Ion and Brandon Ingram and very quickly Kemba Walker, I guess I have to get to it later. There's just so much going on, but it's an interesting salary dump. I mean, what the trade is this? The thunder Man. I don't I'm not as impressive Sam Presti as other people. Because he didn't manage Harden. Durant. And Westbrook effectively. But the guy does know how to bring in graphics like he really does, And he's on track to be GM of the year. You know, executive the year in 2031. That's exciting. Here's what Here's What? Here's what he got. In return. He got Camba. Someone's gonna make 37 million this year. Kimball also has a player option the following year, so figure it's really if Campbell wanted to be two years and $72 million. That's a lot of money. So thunder get Kumba. They get Boston's first round pick this year. This upcoming draft that's number 16, and they get a, um, a second round pick in 2025. The Celtics get Al Horford. Moses Brown in a second round pick and in 23, by the way, Horford is actually I went. Look this morning. My thought, watching the NBL. A lot was he's the same guy has been the last three or four years, so he's Fine. He's good. He's fine. He's actually it'll better per 36 minutes, actually, like, interestingly, been better because he's been on bad teams. So my point is when you give the minutes and when you let the the ball run through, the more you ask them to do more, he can do it. He's a nice piece. He's a nice piece. Is that a bomb? Moses Brown 7172 Kids out of U. C L. A young player for Thunder played twenties to 23 minutes a game, but his per 36 minute numbers right if he played an entire game were 15 and 15. He's interesting player. But it's a salary dump. It's what it is. It just speaks to the way in which Campbell did not fit and did not work out in Boston, and I don't know what the thunder are going to do. I don't know what Sam Sam press he's gonna do. You could keep camper. And you could pair him with With Shay. Guilders. Alexander the the way that you did Chris Paul or you can decide It's not going to be good for SGS development and you can turn on and flip combo somewhere else for a bunch of picks, which is, my guess is what's going to happen. That is my guess. And for Boston. I think they think it's going to be addition by subtraction of a kind. Because camera just wasn't happened. That's two point guards you have come in and who have been unhappy. Alright 855 to 1 to four CBS Twitter Sports Writer Sports R E I E or talk from Joe mixing in a moment, not a fan of Joe mix ins. "They just dumping the money. So there's Brad Stevens first move as a GM is to clear away a big contract for a player who's doesn't stay healthy Kids stay healthy and in doing so, giving up a first round pick To do it. So are you getting rid of the money? So in return, you got more money to spend. So now what? You gonna do Anything expiring? Al Horford, that helps. Yeah, That's what I'm saying. You're gonna have more so they've got they've got to work on whatever. Now, if El Al Horford plays they buy him out that remains to be seen. Remember? He did have a history there, and when he left, they did miss his defense. So let's bring in Kendrick Perkins. Just bring him back to the show. Yes, Been NBA analyst joins us on the Goodyear hotline. So perk this straight just comes down from woes. I'll give you the details. We haven't heard it that Kemba Walker will be traded. To Oklahoma City, along with a first round pick the 16th overall pick in this year's draft, and then a couple of seconds are swapped in this Al Horford on his way back to Boston, Mo. Brown Moses Brown as well in the deal. What are your thoughts? Surprising or not? Oh, look. Long not surprise. I love it. I love and here's wild love it for the simple fact. When you look at what Kimball Walker went through the past two seasons, they didn't know when he was going to be healthy dealing with a knee injury. He wasn't available, and right now you have two rising stars and Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum, who are being the face of your franchise. To me killed but just didn't match Will. Jalen Brown took a tremendous leap this year, and Kimball was just kind of in the way, so I love this. I love this. I said this at the end of the season. It's time for Kimble to go Now They're getting back and familiar. Face a stretch for a guy that Jayson Tatum ACC, Jalen Brown love playing with an Al Horford. Some pigs and everything else, I must say. Great job about Brad Stevens in his first big move as the as the head of the snake running the organization. Let me just get some detail here for a second on the walker contract, so he's got Essentially two years left of $36 million at the age of 31 for next season. And then a $37 million player option perk. Would you pick up that option if you were him? I think you would. Right. So there's that. He better? Yeah. If he knew better here, do better. Hey, So that's why you're moving them a big perk. So So Brad Stevens now obviously running the show the ship. In in Boston decides to make this move without hiring a head coach. Wouldn't you think that You would consult with a head coach to some degree prior to making these sort of moves, given the fact or are you just going to hand the keys to the car to head coaches say you deal with whatever I'm giving you Well, I think I think with this one key, you know, this was a move that was was going to be made, Regardless. Okay. I think it was just time. Right? And this is a move for Jayson Tatum and Jalen Brown to show them to say, Hey, this is your team. This is your team. You don't have to look over your shoulder. You don't have to worry about If you're a third option, if you're Jaylen Brown note is one a one B and as Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown so I actually love the movie. Whether or not it was a head coach Taylor consult with that, because even if they had to head coach guess what they would have said the same thing. Let's go ahead and make this happen now with Brad has to do before he does anything else. His next move is to hire head coach because if you're thinking about moving any other pieces, like a marking smart, you need to bring in the coach first and have a sit down with them or whatever the case may be before you do anything else, Brad, but I think this was a great move. I think any coach would would have agreed with this move. It was a long time coming. Let me also update more because I was wrong about Harford. I don't know why I thought it was an expiring, but it isn't. He actually has two years left next year. 27 year after that, 26 5. So the Celtics bringing him back for Perkin, You saw it. Since he left their defense, especially interior defense, pick and roll defense just wasn't the same. They never really were the same. They're always trying to find a big to replicate what he could do, and they couldn't now can he still do at the age of 36 remains to be seen, But That part of the deal. Sorry, key. No, I was gonna say perk. The end of last season, I asked you and Jay will about the window closing for the Celtics. Clearly that window close this season. They didn't do well. They got bounced by the Nets. In the first round of playoffs. Did the window open back up Now is the door open back up with this move, Or is the windows still pretty tight? No, no, The window is open and his wife key. You know that the first story of of their chapters close with Kimball Walker and Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum. Right now, you move on. We still have to realize that Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum are still under the age of 25. Neither one of them have even scratched the surface of their problem..
