"Get the official form transport pen for turkeys. That might that might get pardoned. What it what do you mean by. Yeah so this was like a running gag throughout And it was a visual gag. That actually talk about it but to win when rick. And morty i go to the think recommended go to the farm. The the the turkey marines go to the farm. But there's a water tower that says like the official farm for turkeys may get pardoned by the president and then it was like turkey transport which was the official transportation method for turkeys that may get pardoned and even like the turkey pen was like holding turkeys for pardon since like eighteen. Seventy years like so so. There's just all these visual like like signs like if these official places just kind of reiterating. The absurdity of the entire turkey pardoning process. Now that there's all these official official means for for facilitating the turkey. Pardon process. I loved it. I thought it was good. I i love I know there's a couple other things that you kind of gravitated did you. Did you just try to spit in faces. No saliva glands. I thought that was great. Cracks me up every time. I watched the episode when when the president shouts out mary. Todd lincoln In in congress in a motorcycle out of the wall how. Many rick. And morty fans will now go visit congress and try to shout out mary todd lincoln hopefully And then finally the president's speech when he is trying to rally the troops and Just the writing of that. What is the speech is not. Just words is it lists If i say it over again like just just the absurdity of that speech and the critique on speech giving in general Two questions for you sir. Lock and load those rhetorical blocking load. Let's go all right so those those are some of our Favorite oh the one other one that i didn't that it's just past. The page break is when rick tells more detail. Cut the blue wire and inside the panel. It's all blue wires. I love that they turn that trope on. Its head a little bit of. Yeah what if they just use the same color wired for everything of primary colors.

"Rambo the low Dennehy brian denny. It's great it's great. We'll do it. We'll do a. Rick morty podcast. Okay just just about well eventually. We have to get back into Affect enthusiasm at some point so you know. Just just write it down. Write down. Rambo i creating a new segment This is i mean it's not a segment we're still in the main thing but this is this is our inter dimensional cable. Bit it it. It seems that Two episodes is like a coincidence but six episodes seems like a trend. Here we have gotten one inter dimensional cable type clip in every episode. This season this episode being no exception as as jerry is eating thanksgiving dinner at the table he has the tv on. And he is watching. A carly a charlie kaufman reboot of wizard of oz. there's there's some dialogue in the background like saying that one of you wants courage which is like a personality trait the other two one actual human organs or something like that and then the man is typing and Yeah like like adaptation like that movie adaptation with nicholas cage. Which i haven't seen cut lost trans not awesome translation Yeah this one. this one. The the the thing that i've seen on it is is that like this one is it feels fam- more family guy ash. It seems like a family gifts. Family guy ish aside. If it wasn't a background would have been one thing. But then they showed that the ten men typing as nicholas cage. And then some i. I could i could see how these inter dimensional cable clips. They continue to do it in the style would almost start to feel like like family guy. Cut-away sort of aside because they're so non pertinent to the rest of the story most of the time and it's they just find an excuse to turn on the tv you once every episode. The other part of this is. I don't know if that was supposed to exist in another reality or not because it. It's immediately interrupted by the news. Showing that the president is gonna turn you know all of the turkeys into super super humans but anyway that's your inner dimensional cable bit and it's now time for us to to rattle off our laundry list of favorite bits From throughout the episode little little observations and things. That we enjoyed from this episode ni- i one is rick's rc. Car which which happens in the cold open. He gets the first thing that comes to the portal Shoot shooting some some webbing or sacks of some sort over over the security cameras and rick's just kind of you know driving the car. "What what do you think about. The the critique seen about rick and morty with with the seasons specifically with starting with like a conceit and in doing the conceit poorly i've seen also mentioned about heist movies. Do you The the the critique for this episode was they started with national treasurer and like the. It wasn't like it was is poor commentary on Like a parody or spoof of national treasure. Do you think that was the point of of this national treasure because they did have an no or at the end with the the crypt of the new world. whatever. I don't think that was the driving force behind it. Like if they had set out to do a national treasure episode. I think. I think it would have looked a lot different. It would have been much more high. St and things like that. But i mean the movie. National treasure is just an american themed heist. Right like that's and they've they've they've done a heist episode. They've done I mean they've done some other episodes like that. So i i. I don't know that. That was the goal here i think the and honestly there's a part of me when i started i was like are they gonna do like a pickle rick thing like is he going to be a turkey in episode like is that is that oh look at me. I turned myself in a turkey turkey. Rick woo like so. I i think they were able to balance that well where they had the turkey stuff up front and then they kind of moved away from that brought in the superhuman turkey. People at the end just really playing with those different types of turkey's throughout. I'm saying turkey a lot in this you you you put it in our twitch announcement that we're talking turkey you are lying you're lying to your lion lion Yeah and then again. This episode was a another battle between rick and the president. United states Voiced by david again wonderfully done at this. Point is keith. David a series regular now like and we. We just call that like. He's i think he's been in three episodes already in season five..

"Now. Yeah i think it's i think it's bizarre to have a. I think a thanksgiving themed episode. Not around thanksgiving but also when you consider the production schedule and the ten episode. Run that we're getting for season five. We are not necessarily gonna have an episode in november. I think that's overly optimistic to think that season six would come back by november. I i think this this season's gonna run september right Yeah if the math is correct. So so yeah. So if you're going to do a thanksgiving episode and you ha i. I like the ideal. I like the absurdity of the turkey. Pardon and as as like an idea in general and so for them to run with that. I i don't mind necessarily that. It's not a thanksgiving time of year. And i think now so. Many people rewatch episodes throughout the year. It could in fact be something. A thanks giving. Let's watch the thanksgiving rick. And morty episode. Just like just like the thanksgiving charlie brown episodes right like you. Just go back and you watch well. I think there's a there is a certain piece of how things become tradition and how things become watched over and over again that you can't you can't force it other otherwise it it. It doesn't has to take a life of its own. Same thing with Movies that have achieved cult status. Where where like john. Carpenter's the thing was a box office bomb in nineteen eighty one when it came out. But over time people have grown to appreciate its brilliance. and i do say brilliance overtime. I if an episode or a movie sets out to be that kind of tradition. I don't think. I don't think it gets to the the same the same status. I don't think i don't think it does lay day. Nobody watches that on independence day. I don't know that's true. I'm sure somebody watches it. Somebody that's like really into fx or something like probably watches it. But or the or the usa network. I don't know they probably watched the cable cut version of it I watch i watch it I think that weekend down at the theaters. Here's a here's the long-term here's a long-term bet brandon will adult swim. Rerun this episode in the third week of november this year. Oh shit Yes i don't think they'll do this one specifically. I don't think the it'll be themed after this episode. But i think it will play only because adult swim plays rick morgan marathons every other day nonstop right. I don't know. I don't know maybe they will. Maybe what do you think about turkey pardons. But how do you feel about the tradition of pardoning a turkey in the united states. I didn't put this in the the read it the discussion post stuff but i think it is a very very strange.

Luther king day. What what do you guys think. Yeah he's he's he's just he's i don't know all right. Rick rick is grandpa. Why don't we have a story centered around grandparent's day and how He thinks all other holidays are stupid but he expects them to respect them on this particular day Please don't well. I'm going to write that down. That's actually a pretty good. It's pretty good. Rick and morty concept. I may see that in the next sixty episodes or so i yeah anyway. What do you think about. Holiday upsets generals. Da forum against a medicare. yeah. I mean if it elevates the content of whatever they're talking about sure sure holiday episodes worked for me. I i'm calling it now. This is going to be re watched by thousands of ricky fans. Every thanksgiving now they're going to go back and watch the thanks ponytail spectacular. It's gonna be a thanksgiving tradition that you said thousands and not millions. No nope and i was aiming high like. I thought maybe hundreds tens of hundreds i watch. "Who who they have on on the panel. Dan harmon chalk. Chris burnell and spencer grammer hosted by brandon johnson. That's right that's right and Yeah was it was. It was okay right. This by far wasn't the the worst panel that we've seen from the rick. And morty gang The thing that i continually go back to. They had some conversations about stuff throughout season five. They didn't talk about platina at all but they did. They talked about all the other episodes leading up to episode five Not a whole lot of substance or some kind of interesting bits. The the question about them focusing more on the family in these episodes i thought was felt felt fairly pertinent until this latest episode but But my thing is is is these these panels have to the. They should say something. They should have some kind of content for us to like. Look forward to right. That's that's what you go to comic con. Four that's what you go to panels for you go to like you hear about how the writing is are all this type of stuff and then they treat you with with behind the scenes or like sneak peeks of of stuff and that's not what we've seen from these these panels with the exception of They did show us the nimbus automatic. I think Last last year. Yeah but also rowlands never there anymore except for the special guests. Rick and morty at the end there's like a bug flying into my face credibly distracting it. I didn't. I didn't know if that was you being like yeah. No you're right responding thinking responding weird to your to your points no i. I thought that was very interesting. That you bring that up. The that rowland was not in the panel. Although rick and morty do appear at the end of the panel and there's a quick little conversation with rick and morty in character Just still images of the characters and then brennan johnson asking them a couple of questions So obviously like justin roy lind in some way involved in the panel but Not actually participating as himself Which is unfortunate love to love to hear from justin and see how he's doing so Yeah overall i. There are things that we miss in these panels. You don't get the fan questions you you But i mean. I appreciate all of them taking the time to do that. Yeah there were some funny comments from from some of the the cast members and things so if you did miss it good news. Everything is on youtube..

'Rick and Morty' Season 5 Premieres

"Wanted to talk about the credit sequence because rick and morty it's got this tradition of their credit sequences all these little mini just mini montage of things. That might happen this season and they always are kind of like even the dispose between things that actually are going to happen in future episodes and things that are just cutting room floor. Things were deliberately just animated for this thing here the new scenes. I want you to talk about. Which one do you think you most want to see. Come the life and which one you hope is just a Cutting room floor heads popping off the smith family at the dinner table turning into kronenbourg head. Spiders and crawling up the walls. Okay all right summer bashing cynthia mailboxes as they flee screaming from her as she wields a baseball bat from rick's flying saucer next for consideration the smith family are all voltron soldiers with matching a black blue green red yellow orange. I can't remember all the voltron. Lions costumes and their house transforms into a series of tubes to suck them presumably into their cats. Rick desperately tries to resuscitated janitor. New new from the vindicator series. And finally morty sinks a tough putts in front of an audience really swanky. Nice golf course. I know which one. I'm rooting for the most What about you. I mean man the the so. I'm a big fan of the thing. I think it'd be cool if there were spider. Heads going on in this universe but also they all pop off. Why Biden's economic team would rather go too big on COVID-19 relief

"What is going to happen in this economy. Prison biden treasury secretary yelling and a couple of big name. Ceo's including j p morgan's jimmy diamond and sonia singapore from gap had confab in the oval office. Today the president's economic relief plan of course was the topic at hand. Barabra morty is the deputy director of the national economic council at the white house. Welcome to the program. Thanks for having me. Let's start with the news of the day shall we. The meeting in the oval office today between president biden. Insects are yelling and some big business. Ceo's the head of the chamber of commerce was there jamie diamond from j. p. morgan chase. What is the president trying to do getting big business lined up behind him and this relief plant. Well i think that he is looking for their support for the bill and for their knowledge that we need to go big in this moment. I think what the president is hearing from. His top economic advisers is that We are at a precarious moment. Just last week. The jobs report came out and showed that job. Growth is really stalling in america. Even though we're about ten million jobs short of where we were pre pandemic and so. I'm secretary yellen down to his other economic advisers. There is a uniform belief that we need to go. We need to fundamentally alter the trajectory of the recovery and we need to make sure that we're putting money behind putting a vaccine people's arms because the fastest way to get the economy. Moving again is to make sure that we be cooked. Totally agree with the vaccine being this economy right now. I cannot and will not argue with that. But i do want to ask you about this idea of going big as you know. There are some consternation by some that may be one point. Nine trillion dollars is too much that it is in fact more than the economy needs given where for example. The congressional budget office says. We're going to be this summer Where'd you get one point nine trillion dollars and is that too much. I know we don't believe it's too much. And so i wanna talk a little bit about the process by which the president and his team put this package together. I would describe it as a bottom up process so for example there are nearly seven million americans who are behind on their rent an at risk of addiction. We need to provide rental assistance. Those people in the package provides the match rental assistance needed to make sure we keep them in their homes from secretary yell and two other top economic advisors. You is your an asymmetric risks situation. And by that. I mean the risks of going to small with this package far outweigh the risks of going too big so we add that all up. I think the president is very comfortable with the size of the american rescue plan. And i think the american people agree with him. Because there's something like seventy percents support for the package. Let's talk about the the flip side of of going through small which is the concern. The president has one of the concerns about going to big is that there may be some inflation coming in this economy with so much money coming in so soon with the pent up demand. That is sure to happen. Once people can go out and spend and travel and and enjoy life again Are you not worried about that. Well a group monitoring all sorts of different risks to economy and secretary yellen and and others have made clear that they are carefully monitoring the risks of inflation issue. Is that if you do too. Little means that people are going to go hungry. It means that people are going to be booted out of their homes in the middle of pandemic and those are just not acceptable outcomes to the president and look. We are far below the feds inflation target and have been for a very very long time and not to get too wonky owner. I think that the chair powell and others have said the goal is actually to increase in play shen to get closer to that two percent target that they have were. We're a long ways off. I i wonder how Given the the makeup of of the president's economic team many of whom were around in two thousand eight and two thousand nine how scarred people are by the prospect of going to small with a relief. Bill well i can't speak for others and i was not personally there in two thousand and eight thousand nine but i do think that there is a an assessment of the latest and best economic evidence. You look at a where interest rates have been how they have been low extended period of time and you weigh You costs and the risks of adding to the deficit. And i think it very clearly comes out in favour of going big me pick up on something you just said because it struck me when the president said something similar a number of weeks ago that He is he is taking a page from the republicans. Playbook saying look we have to borrow. We have to do deficit spending. It doesn't matter how we pay for it. And i i. Maybe you don't know this. Maybe weren't in those conversations but how did he come around to. You know what we're going to borrow the money the heck with it again. He and his team have been Deep into the economic evidence. And i think over the last five or ten years yet. Economic evidence in support of more robust deficit financing particularly for a temporary emergency measures such as. This one is pretty airtight. The president has been clear that when it comes to permanent changes in policy in other words policy that involves spending each and every year for the foreseeable future that he does think that that should be offset with new tax increases on the wealthy and on big corporations so again i think that is a view that is backed up by the best economic evans

"About what a dream career in acting might be. Sarah Chalke has sort of had it. She's been on some of the best love TV shows of all time, Roseanne. Scrubs How I met your mother. Not too shabby, right? But you know things must be slowing down during the pandemic for actors. Well, not for Sarah. Now she's part of the one of the most popular shows during this pandemic, the animated series Rick and Morty, where she does the voice of Beth Sanchez. I had the chance to talk with Sarah Chalke out in Vancouver, British Columbia last year after season four of the show rap. We talk from her home, NBC. Don't worry, I wasn't NBC hears our conversation. Hi, Sarah. How are you? Hey, I'm great. Nice to talk to you. Where are you? I'm in British Columbia and s O feel like you'd be here. You're still able to work right? You're on Rick and Morty. It's animated show. Are you still able to do voices? Yes, I'm I've been recording three cartoons up here, and it's been such an interesting adventure to find like the most acoustically positive sound And really, that's like a dead sense. You have to find somewhere small and s O. I started out in the lower bunk bed surrounded by every do they and pillow that was available to me and then try taking the kids play tent and duct taping seven moving blankets around it. Um and then you know you're in this kind of like dark space. And then I take like make a stack with like a thing of poker chips and Harry Potter books and then bounced the microphone on top and hope for the best. And I also say that like Beth on Rick and Morty Is not like a A super kid friendly cartoon character like No. Are you worried about your kids here in here and what's going on with mom in the room? So what if he like up and you know you're recording off campus in a sound contained sound booth? Um, so yeah, yeah, that's also been part of this figure out a way to not only keep the dogs from barking, um, and hearing birds, but also, uh, the Children not hearing you. So it's an interesting um Dynamic. They get to have some really loud. Screen time, huh? Get they get to watch their iPad as loud as they want so that mom could say rated r things into a microphone in the bunk bed. Totally. I mean, I was already worried about like my daughter who's three going to preschool and like she loves we have all the Rick and Morty like stuffed animals, and plus, she's and so she'll play with them. If you like, mister Q. B Butthole. Yeah, I don't know how that's gonna go over playing that with other Children. It's been really amazing to see how big Rick and Morty has become, like I remember when it was sort of like this little niche. Animated chauffeur for nerds and for You know, for people who like really kind of sophisticated comedy, and then it just becomes this worldwide phenomenon. And it made me think about your character, Beth. So for people who haven't seen the show, can you tell me who Beth was when you started and sort of who she's become, as the serious has gone on. Yes. Oh, so she's the sort of mother of the family. Um, Rick and Morty is the grandfather of the grandson. And you think you're gonna watch this grandfather grandson? Go on these like wild sci fi adventures. But what it ends up going into is like these real kind of rough family dynamics and on day kind of You know, not just this sci fi cartoon but asking these existential questions like if life is meaningless, and there are infinite universes, does anything really matter? So that's rickon Gordy in general, and then the best starting out kind of that, you know, as the Matriarch of the family and playing the mom and then over time, And as the seasons went on, you find out how much she is like her dad and the fact that when she was little, he had to build her a secret world. Because she was making whips to make people like her and mind control hair clips. As a young girl. You find out that she is kind of a lot like her dad, and and then and then, as the seasons go on. She wants to either stay or leave, And we don't know if she's a clone or not a clone, and that's been super fun to play kind of death. And then this alternate best as well. Space that it's funny like it. Z must be a challenge to sort of play your character and also sort of more sinister. We're like, deceptive version of your character. But it's all the same voice like You're not changing too much, you know. Yeah, Totally, totally. It's been. It's been super fun, and obviously we didn't know at any point that that was coming like we just get the scripts as we get them. We have no knowledge of. You know what's happening down the road in the future, so that part's so fun. I mean, to see like a Rick and Morty script in My Inbox is one of my favorite things because the minds of Justin Royal and and Dan Harmon are Unbelievable. There. So the scripture so smart and so funny and so wild. I love them. It's the number to show in all of North America like we were looking at in the US anyway. We were looking at the survey was conducted in the US to see what TV shows were being binge the most during the pandemic. So number one friends. Friends is number one. Right? Yes, I love it. I'm a big friends fan. And then sort of like the anti friends Rick and Morty is is not know that his number two in some states record is number one. What do you make of it? What do you make of it that during the pandemic, it's gotten even more successful. That's really cool. I didn't know that. I think I think people want to laugh and people want to escape into another world. And I think that it's a You know, a time for For a real need for for comedy, and the growth of It has been interesting to watch kind of through the eyes of comic con over the years like we would go to comic con You're one. It hasn't been released yet. So all the questions were to Dan Harmon about community and then the next year, it was like a couple of weeks walking around and then the next It was like a sea of Mr Poopy bottles and bricks and all these different characters was kind of cool. I get to see how it's how it's growing, but I'm glad it's bringing people less. Is it this time? Is it ever a bit intense? Like I know that I know that Even Dan and Justin, the folks behind the show have had to come out and talk to the fans of the show. Because they could be intense. They could be a bit toxic. That could be a bit sort of awful. Now when we're talking about a pretty small Group of fans of the show, but I can't imagine what that's like to be sort of in it to be in in the show, with all that's going on. Yeah, it is. It is wild. The degree to which you know I can't watch all the little pieces and I am you know, I think that That, you know, I don't. I don't actually read a ton of those, uh, those sites and comments, but I think it's It's cool how passionate people are about it. It reminds me because when you started, I think the first way we all knew you was when you were on when you were on Roseanne and you were brought in court famously, is second Becky. Like one of the biggest shows of the nineties, You replaced the original actress who played the daughter Becky, until the original Becky came back again. From what? I understand you were in high school in Canada, and then it got that gig. Yeah, it was crazy. I was 16 when I auditioned and I I was living in Vancouver and working on a couple things that were filming up here, but really haven't done anything under very much. And and, uh, got this audition and put myself on tape. And, um, I think we even like Mailed a VHS tape, You know, down to the states, and they called and said, We're gonna fly you down for an audition on day were seven of us and all the others were like 21 living in L. A actresses and all of us were doing this scene with Glenn Quinn. Who played Mark back his husband and the whole scene was like making out. You're making out with him. And you're like, you know, get job. The gas station, baby. Come and get it down to the gas station, baby. Come here. That was the same like there's this 24 year old, handsome Irish actor. How am I gonna remember one line and they said we'll let you know within a week. And then, a week later, they called back and said, Okay, come back tomorrow and do a scene with Roseanne and was like on the infamous coach on the set, and they were calling out. You know, camera numbers and having a laugh track and seeing if you could kind of adjust to those elements, and then they called and said, You got it. And Remember going to a party that night and telling a couple people and it just sounded so crazy. Sounded crazy. Yeah. Sounded crazy that you were in. You were in high school, and you were telling people having to be on the number one sitcom in the world. They would have been right to be like They're not. You're not like taking over for someone else like they're gonna not have like It just sounded insane. And we already had, like great seven. We already had, like someone like lied about being on the mini pops. Remember the many pox which were so amazing? I don't I don't know. The minibar like a Canadian band was like a Canadian kids. And you would like You know they would sing covers, and they were dressed these cool eighties clothes and they were amazing and someone in our schools that they were going to be in the mini pops. That wasn't true. So all the sudden I felt this feeling of like I'm lying about being in many parts, and then so then I kind of spread it on our school pretty quick. And then they called me back on Monday morning, and they said We're having cold feet about replacing Becky. So we don't know if we're gonna do it. We will do will pick you if we do it, but we're gonna put you on hold for four months. We're going to tell you in September just got this is jumping. You couldn't be a Minnie Bob situation, right? You're gonna have to go back to all of them ago. No, no, they change their mind like all you have Sara? Sure they did Change your mind. And then you then you find out Yeah. And then s O was my great 12 year and, um And I would go back and forth because they would shoot two or three weeks on one week off. So we would shoot Monday to Thursday. I would get on a plane first thing Friday morning and be at school in Canada on Friday afternoon and then and then fly back Sunday night or stay home for a week if we had a week off and kind of commuting back and forth I'm really interested in people like you who have On gun traditional first big gig like I was talking to Linda Cardellini the other day who played Lindsay on Freaks and geeks, Right? And you know, so there you go. She's her big break. Is this show that considered to be the greatest show of all time and then gets canceled after one season and I said, You know, what does that do for you for the rest of your career, and similarly for you your first Big is to replace beloved Actor. In a show that is the number one show on that, and it was it was controversial. When it happened, it was people couldn't believe that it was happening. And then I wonder if that taught you anything in your career going forward, whether it had hardened to you or heart And you do you think it did something to you? I think both of those things I think, you know, I mean, because Yeah, came. She would least he was Becky from seasons 1 to 5. I was six and seven. She came back for the beginning of eight. And then I came back for the rest of eight. And for nine. And so it was definitely, you know. As a kid. Um, it's you know, it's confusing and hard when they brought her back, and then they called this. Okay. Now, will you come back? And and so that piece, I think, um Was the challenging part of it for sure, And the other piece that was challenging was just going from complete obscurity to going on the number one show, and then you're at that age where gynecology just kind of wanna blend of a sudden that piece of it was it was hard, but they incredible part was the obvious, unbelievable gift of working with John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf and Roseanne and Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki and Sandra Bernhardt. And I mean it was It was crazy. It was like stepping into having not really worked out much to working with this top, unbelievably talented comedians and just watching them. Work and what They would do with a script from a Monday morning table read Till Thursday night Tape night. It was such a huge learning experience and so so interesting and obviously You know, open so many doors for me. I mean, I was Like my entire diamonds, girls. My nickname was second package would be like we got second back in the seventies. Really Good. Yeah. Yeah,

"How would you rate the episode in general I? Mean we don't usually do that. Yeah, we don't would. You would you? Let's let's do it. Let's do it in terms of this being the fourth. Anthology you know loose Improv. Okay. Didn't have the improvisational feel. I, think as much. But how would you kind of stack it against the other? We'll call them inter. Dimensional. Cable. Type episodes. If we're going based off of. How much I laughed. I think the I think the anthology pieces of of all the other ones are generally stronger. I think the Bechtel test is is one of the best ones. The, the other like little the other little scenes especially in the fifth wall portion. I think a really really cool in there really interesting and I would love to see those fleshed out knowing that they they may not This is kind of sad but really that whole epic fight with snowball and versus a cat Max, and then that that panning shot from citadel of Rick's or you know, said it all morning whatever going. Skinny across you see all the the risks and you see the Aclu Zorba resort and like that that's that's really bad ass I would love to catch that. But. I think they'll. They'll be fine with whatever they end up choosing at the end of seventy episodes and they're going to do great things I I think that. This episode shows that they they're capable of creating epic conclusions in epic. You know. Moments. It's just let's let them do it. Yeah. Let's not try to create it for them in advance. Let's enjoy their creative process and the fruits of. Yeah. So so do I rank it out of those episodes I would I would for what I look for in those episodes I would probably put it. Put it forth but I put it forth because it's not as it's not that. What I fell in love with with those first three I guess yeah. I I think the the improvisational part of some of those episodes really to me makes those episodes when you can tell somebody was in a booth without a script just like saying random stuff or or or when they go really off like. Book and they're and and it to the point where they're not even like really performing anymore but they leave it in and still animated those breaks to me are some of the highlights of those episodes. So I. Didn't really feel like we got any of that I feel like this was definitely anthology and it it took a lot of really obscure ideas and jam them altogether and I think it was really effective in a great.

Talking about always I forgot I forgot the one liner that he uses there anyway That's where it really say okay. Alright where this is not a traditional episode, this is Dan Policy, which takes I, accurate. And then we get immediately after the commercials the bird person musical moment which great to see Burson back on the show in true form. Singing with Rick and flying through the air which then cuts to a scene on the train with all these people discussing the see the best musical moments that Rick and Morty have had, and if you look really closely like behind the guy on stage like get swifty like a picture and I think there might be like a tiny rick playing like. All these little like pictures drawn on the background while he's giving a presentation about the best musical moments. That's great. That's great. I didn't notice There are there. Took almost until the first ad break before you really understood that this was going to be at not a conventional rick and morty adventure and. I thought I you know I. I Love Anthologies. Anthology Shows Anthology comics I love I love very short standalone stories that have a beginning middle and end. Cool bite-size. I don't have to dedicate forty hours of my life to catch up on three seasons of ozark. I don't need to do that because it's still feels very specific and I feel like whatever whatever the net flicks situation is in your current Cova Quarantine back there I feel like maybe ozarks involved and I don't want to pick sides I watched too. "Hello everyone and welcome to slash film daily for may tenth twenty eighteen on today's show we're going to be talking about the latest film and tv news this is slam senior writer ben pearson and joining me today are slash film managing editor jacob hall ello hello and slash film weekend editor brad omen hey that's me all right guys let's jump right into the news today brad tell us about rick and morty it got a surprising announcement earlier today yeah today a huge announcement from adult swim as we talked about before there have been some complex negotiations about renewing rick and morty for a fourth season it's taken longer than some might have thought and dan harmon has talked about it online as well the negotiations being creating a little bit of a lack of motivation to get episodes out as soon as possible but it sounds like maybe those negotiations took a little bit longer because this deal to renew rick and morty was even bigger than anyone anticipated because dealt swim has ordered seventy more episodes of rick and morty that's seven zero which is double the amount of episodes that have already been created in the first three seasons of the show which means if the seasons have the same amount of episodes as the previous three have we're looking at roughly another seven seasons of rick and morty and considering the timetable for how long it takes them to create a season we're looking at at at least probably another ten to twelve years of rick and morty coming down the pipeline which is crazy i can't think off the top of my head another animated show like this that has been given a renewal for so many episodes in one at one time.
