The local newspaper, would you like to know why I would love to local citizen suit in them Conrad, doyle, and he would write letters to the editor where he would say things that were wrong in the county and he would give his opinion on people in the county. The State of Kentucky sued him because they said that in a one article where he said quote I will put a new canal at or rear your behind. That was a threat and he said you must tell us Made County newspaper who said that and it went to the Kentucky Supreme Court and the Supreme Court said First, amendment, you are allowed to keep their identity private. Wow. They backed him. Yeah they said, it was a woman the Me County Messenger did not have to say who the letter to the editor was. So Conrad Doyle, the mystery of who that person is is still alive in meet. No kidding and the editor one D got to defend themselves very good. The editor did. So how about that? Yahweh? Input whatever you want on twitter and it doesn't matter. Is last year. This was literally just last year. This happened. Oh, I thought this was a long time. Last year but the apparently he was talking about some. Public official and said, I, will put a new canal at or rear your behind. That seems like that. It's too threatening. I would've let the I wouldn't have. Let it go. Do you think. That the dues paper owner should have to say when someone writes a letter to the editor. And it's let's just say it was a threat Leva side let's say it was a threat. Do you think the the newspaper editor should have to say who it was if people think it's a threat or do they have a first amendment right to stay anonymous? This would mark the end of speak your piece. That's true. Peace we go on with Galway. Speech. The First Amendment I think they have a right to leave it anonymous. Mimic. Stands for yeah. So Meade County set First Amendment Law. Finally, the two most famous people from meade. Well first of all lead in with even at. meatless for me can't leave with the braves guy. That's right. He we reese. Yes. Former LA dodger. Brooklyn dodgers same thing Yeah Yeah You know he's hall of Famer, but he's known for his relationship with Jackie Robinson. That's what he's known for of course, the the story about how you put his arm around Jackie Robinson when he first broke into the big leagues, here's a little controversy with it actually happened in Cincinnati or happened in Boston but you know he has. Lived in Canada I think eight years old and then moved to the city of Louisville for both communities claim. which they should yes and then finally Rick Stands Bury the coach at Western also from meet Kim. So there you go. There's your Meade County Brandenburg. Update. Yeah. And besides those two guys I've only had a couple of other athletes. You guys remember you may remember Blake powers. Big Time High School quarterback in Kentucky that went to play at Indiana and started for four years at Indiana was that early early two thousands actually duke. Honestly when I was at Duke was probably the time I followed sports. The least was that a one Oh to air. Yeah. I think that's exactly when he was in Indiana and Kentucky was playing them actually what's A beginning bj Rosenberg that played professional baseball for the Phillies pitcher for the phillies. For a couple of years. That's all I could find. All right. So there is your Meade County update the Jailhouse Pizza Yeah need some jailhouse pizza we gotta make a trip. It's good here. I didn't get to go because it was closed. Back tracker went tracker said it was good. Now, then I went with frog greer to stay cows the tracker didn't know where I was you were trying to give him the sly I was not see that's what I didn't want him to. Wanted him to be able to follow me if he wanted to five to five, seven, one, eighty, text, machine, seven, seven, two, seven, seven, four, five, two, five, four, we'll take a break back Scherzer. You're listening to. Kentucky Sports Radio on Talk Radio Ten Eighty Taking Sports Radio Pablo to five seven, one, eighty, glass sex machine. Since before pat two, five, four, one person writes. Matt wears big Joe Logs to now I'm going go whip its tail. See I feel like you couldn't do that today people would take you up on it. If you put an ad in the newspaper says, I can whip Kentucky somebody will take you up on it. Shannon today because Shannon says, if you have to tell me, you're the nicest town in Qatar Nicest County Kentucky you're not the nicest. This I don't believe you. Big Joe I think is all talk here if he has to. The toughest that maybe you're not tough now if he's still around and still what people share the dude said that, but I'll represent that take for now. So what did he do? Did he just sit there and beat county and just wait for? Anything I think he was being a frontier Zeman. I don't think he just sat down and who wants. To come get you some. I'm not sure what birthrights Ron. Is the eighty something version of Big Joe. Is With the senior games is just asking if you're eighty five ninety come. He kind of was talking a little your. Trash today he was Let me ask you questions before we go the phones low lane kiffin. I was trying to think about when we've played lane Kiffin and then somebody reminded me well, not somebody who's on our last night lane Kiffin was the coach of that game where we wouldn't give the ball to Randall Cobb at the end I'd forgot that. What a bad memory that game is I mean did you did you remember I'd completely forgotten that that was the case. No I had it in my head that we went to Tennessee his year because I remember being at a Lane Kiffin game I must have just gone to some random too. So like we got the ball they fumbled. Art So, the game was tied I think or no maybe we're down three were down three and they fumbled. And we got the ball and we just did Randall Cobb in the wildcat like four straight plays and got it down to like the twelve. So. It was first and ten at the twelve, and then we ran three straight plays with Morgan Newton included a Morgan Newton quarterback sneak instead of putting carbon the wildcat, and we got to the five and had to kick a field goal tied up and lost in over. The kid that grew up in the shadows of KNEELAND stadium and you're down there close to the. They gave it to him. We went from like the forty five to the twelve just with Randall Cobb got to the twelve and install giving him the ball. How can you not put the ball in net kids hands where his whole life always been is big orange big orange big orange and you got a chance to let him beat that team and they do they're not making it over sieber made the kick and regulation but I think he missed the kick it over to Sieber, also from Knox. Is that the year got blocked was that the Kiffin year on year? Over time and overtime says CBS kicked got blocked. Many times they recycle. Zone for that entire sequence and I. I almost just cried.

"To Georgia My my wife was actually talking about she's a good Christian church for a diversion yesterday they were in saw each other Harris a lot of the woman said Hale has finally come to Georgia yes hill is here and it didn't need Sherman to come with him it's just Satan did it all zone this time I wow okay enough about the weather we need to talk about unemployment in the state of Georgia we do have a bunch of Georgia's Oh no no no I did I got a a very nice lady from the State of Georgia emailed me and said on my statewide show she listens to me show in Georgia Down in south Georgia she lives on the fertilized she she listens in inquiry Georgia and she asked if I would please point out she works for the State Forestry and she asked if I would please point out that there is a burn ban across the state of Georgia right now please do not be throwing cigarette butts your windows please do not be lighting fires outside she said it is very very dry and firefighters across the state of Georgia they said it was like forty forty to forty five percent increase in wildfires of the state right now randomly started a lot of them being started by loose debris particularly idiots driving down the road who throw cigarette butts out there burning up interstate medians across the state of Georgia by throwing their cigarette butts out the window catching things on fire it's so dry right now the we we have we're GonNa get a little rain this weekend but very limited drought relief anyway sally in quit men who works for the State Forestry Commission said please ask everyone since I'm statewide two don't throw your cigarette butts out the window now that means let's get into into state unemployment Habur Shem County those of you up in Habersham County I want you to know that you are doing quite well in fact nor the Georgia mountain region I e the state divides up the Georgia region into to twelve geographic areas and the Georgia mountain region includes banks Dawson for sized Franklin Habersham Hall Heart Lumpkin Ray-ban Stevens towns union and white counties the Georgia Mountain Region surfers ice counties in their interestingly I is counties and they're not the Atlanta area banks and Dawson Franklin Habash Hall Heart Lumpkin Raven Stevens Towns Union and white counties a your unemployment rate your unemployment rate is three point one percent the Georgia region the Georgia mountain region has the lowest unemployment in the state to give you perspective here the State of Employment Right now is three point eight percent and then The Georgia Mountain region is three point one percent which is pretty impressive now northwest Georgia is the role area it's a fifteen county he actually it's Bardo Chattanooga Catoon Cidade Fanning Floyd Gilmer Gordon Harrelson Murray polling pickens poke or Walker and Whitfield counties your unemployment rate is three point six percent again below the national average below the national average below the state average you're you're doing well up there in in the Rome area Middle Georgia is at four percent south Georgia is at three point nine percents southwest Georgia is at four point two percent the Athens area at the Court County area that's considered northeast or so this is the estate does this you got the real northeast Georgia the mountains northeast Georgia is the Athens area it's Bar Barrow Clark Robert Greene Jackson Jasper Madison Morgan Newton Oconee Oglethorpe and Walton counties your unemployment rate is three point five percents down from three point eight percent a year ago but the reason I'm there's actually a method of Man's going through there let me let me give you the area's just so you know southwest Georgia is at four point two percent that's Baker Calhoun call quit decatur Darty early notice Dartey instead of dougherty early Grady Lee Miller Mitchell seminal terrel Thomas and worth counties the three rivers area that's the Duly Harris Making Mary Muskogee Equipment Randolph Sli Stewart Sumter Talbot Taylor and Webster counties that is if you you're you're south of I twenty and you're south of the lagrange area cyncially although it is in there you got that area in there around the muskogee area the Columbus area headed over toward Thomason that area down to just above Darty County the reason I'm pointing this out let me do the last one and you'll you'll understand why the river valley not the river valley area it is the heart of Georgia now the heart of Georgia Korea is South East Georgia that's way cross that's Douglas that's Eastman that area is at five point one percent now the reason I I wanted to break this down like this the reason I wanted to kind of divide this up is the north Georgia area the Habersham County area wrapped around of Forsyth County Lumpkin County over and down into the floor he county the Borough County the that area the arc around North Atlanta all the way over to the south line line gets a lot of attention from our politicians because that area has gotten a lot of population growth I mean just the development and head up towards Clayton Georgia hit up Lake ray-ban see the See that area up there and how it has grown c the worth of Lake Lanier area the Gainsville area north and see how it has grown and you've got a lot of people who either they commute into more urban areas or they are able to work up there some of them frankly commute up to North Carolina South Carolina you got a lot of people now who live in northeast Georgia who commuted South Carolina for work and that area economically is doing the best of the state the Northeast Mountains in Georgia is the best area in the date and we have a lot of politicians the population has grown up there still considered rural Georgia technically but it's got more seats in the state legislature than for examples South East Georgia so it gets a lot of attention and of course windstream is hot garbage up there and so it gets a lot of attention from state leaders on broadband it's got a it's it's got focus but then you get down into southeast Georgia in the southeast Georgia actually had has the worst employment in the state right now southeast Georgia is above the Southeast Georgia is above the national average and is above the state average and is above all the arrest of Georgia it has some serious problems in Unemployment it is at five percent unemployment that area is in south Georgia is they call it the heart of Georgia area it's appling county it's Blackley county it's Chandler County it's Dodge County Newell Evans Jeff Davis Johnson Lawrence Montgomery Tattenham tell fair tombs Trute Land Wayne Wheeler and Wilcox counties those areas of Georgia have been very hard hit agriculturally they're in a drought right now they're a lot of them have moved to subsistence is farming there rule areas they're predominantly black areas of the state They are areas interestingly enough that went for Brian Kemp Brian Kemp did very well in the election in two thousand eighteen I'm I'm pulling up the statewide results just everybody gets a sense of this that they are counties that Brian Kemp is committed to and they are counties where people are on hard times and they are counties that are isolated to a degree because those counties are areas where there is no major short if you're in for example Dodge County Georgia if you're in if you're in Eastman Georgia my wife as a matter of fact wants to ride a motorcycle down there she there's a the Leatherman is is a motorcycle outfit down there but if you're in Eastman Georgia that is I'm in making an it's an hour and fifteen minutes from me and make to Eastman if you're an eastman where's the nearest airport that you can that you can get to to get a major flight you've gotta drive two hours to civic two and a half hours to savannah you gotta drive two and a half hours to Atlanta you gotTA drive three four hours to Jacksonville there's nothing down there and I don't mean this disparagingly to those areas Understand if you live down there when I'm talking about McRae on the Gold Nile Parkway Eastman mccray Hazel her actually Jessop go down to Douglas Gerald Abbeville you've gotta be prison in Abbeville Take Hawkins Ville take even Cochran you gotTa College Down There you're about an hour outside of me again but what do you do economically in those areas you got a lot of farmland down there Georgia power building some infrastructure down there Georgia power's billing and some power down there there's a lot of land down there to build stuff but there are no major highway there are no interstates in that area there's not court facility in that area there's not a major airport facility in that area and the small family farms Sonny Perdue is actually right when he points this out the small family farms are starting to crumble but on top of that you got no Internet infrastructure down there you don't have a telecommunications infrastructure down there most of the people you drive down in that area down there all the time I mean this is south of me we take rides out of the country we go down there people were depending on satellite dishes because you don't even have cable TV infrastructure down there in those areas are the areas where the state needs to focus for jobs those areas where the areas of the state where we gotta figure out something there the areas of the state that our economic really falling behind and as they fall economically behind the people of Atlanta the the good white liberals in Atlanta they forget about those people they look at you if you're in Habersham county they look at you and your employees getting they're saying they're doing quite well Joola Rural Georgia if you're in Habersham if you're in you're in in Floyd County you're in pickens county they're looking at you and they're thinking anyway those are rural areas we drive through we go on vacation there they've got money they don't ever see duly county they'll never see mary county they don't ever see appling county they don't go in those areas and the governor one those areas the governor campaign through those area so he ears about those areas but a lot of the state is oblivious to them and trying to get economic resources down there to help those areas is something the government is going to have to deal with again the state and appointment right now is three point eight percent in in southeast Georgia unemployment is at five percent in the three rivers areas. It's almost fiber that unemployment is mostly black mostly poor it is mostly without major telecom infrastructure you go to the areas interested enough where there is ager telecom infrastructure or close to an airport coastal Georgia three point seven percent unemployment the Athens area three point five percent unemployment Habersham county area three point one percent unemployment go down close to Jacksonville go down close to Tallahassee you've got under four percent unemployment it's those rules areas though in the heart of Georgia that need help and they don't have the eyeballs or the attention and the governor and the state really needs to figure out a way to help those areas welcome back it is Eric Erickson here across the state of Georgia if you'd like to be a part of the program eight seven seven nine seven Eric that's.

"The the building wasn't shaking per se, but the. Builds like there were structures outside awning. That was rattling. We watched the the sign for the hotel pop and then snaps and luckily the pulled in break, but you know, how that canvas thing designed to break away that thing broke away and made a loud noise. And then we could hear really the kind of being a little bit. I the roof being killed back but sections of of the roof were being killed back. And so the hotel staff told us that much of the third floor is badly water damaged in fact, there was a room on the first floor that had water coming in from the ceiling. So that tells you it was coming all the way, and I'm to be honest, our hotel, fared pretty well. I mean, we have no power. But there are some hotels that have entire sections of the walls with ripped out. Like stucco was you know, for three stories up was just pulled out of a section of that hotel roofs been ripped off. So yes, this hotel. We're fortunate that our hotel. Did. Okay. Certainly better than many. I don't know what your schedule is for tomorrow. But we've had a bunch of calls telling from listeners telling us about Mexico beach got absolutely obliterated, which isn't too far from from Panama City. So I don't know if you guys are going to venture out tomorrow, but you might wanna check out Mexico beach. We are definitely seeing a lot of video from their Tyndall air force base. They got hit pretty hard a lot lot lot of areas. Just just south and east of us were the center of the storm went all right? John Bachman, stay safe. I appreciate it. As always checking in. Let's talk again one under better circumstances. Sounds good Martin. Hi there. He is our old, buddy. John Bachman, formerly of channel two action news now with our sister television station in Jacksonville, Mexico beach, longoria, not Mexico City. I can't believe there's Lueders. I I'm I'm afraid. I'm cautiously optimistic that the only one person has died in the storm. But but John made a good point. Listen, they're not gonna be able to get any counts until you know, probably tomorrow when daybreak and then go door to door and see how everything's doing. Meanwhile, back home till two AM. We have a tornado watch in barrow Henry Morgan Newton and Rockdale county. So we are dealing with severe weather right here. Stormtracker to HD radar ourselves. A long line of showers stretching from Carrollton, LA Grange. And now northwest Atlanta looks like Cobb County up toward canton. So we do have severe weather here. Again, a tornado watch in barrow Henry, Morgan Newton and Rockdale counties. We're going to provide you with live weather coverage throughout the night. Dave Baker is going to take over at nine AM. And then I believe Doug Turnbull at midnight. So we're going to have you covered here throughout the night. And of course, the very latest tomorrow morning on Atlanta's morning news with Scott Slade and if any other. Severe weather pops up in the metro area. Kirk Mellish will join us live our back to the phones four zero four eight seven two zero seven fifty one eight hundred of ESP talk. Thor joins us in Atlanta. Thor. How're you holding up, my friend? I'm good. I just wanted to send to reporters down to the code section which is section. That's sort of on the way to Tyndall on the way to make. Lovie. Just because. I seen a whole bunch of coverage of the peace nothing out east. So I can tell you some things that happen on the west side over. I got in touch with them today. What did they tell you? So they live in brick on a concrete slab. It was solid roof. Now leaks about four aces figgers therefore fell in the house. Of the. All the trees, though, single free. That is not. Oh, wow. So. Gone all of the oak trees of turnover. How your parents are? Okay. Though. Your parents are okay. Okay. No like, no, electricity and. Using the cricket. Cellphone. So the eighteen hours are now operational. Yeah. Why didn't they evacuate? Why did they stay down there? Hey, if you look at the evacuation that most of Panama City, the interior wasn't wasn't under the evacuation warning. So they weren't in any of the gold yellow or silver zones. They were in the whole area. So a lot of Panama City wasn't under anything that was inland. Wasn't under evacuation watch. Yeah. Just a just the coastal. They're older. So it's a real pain for the door. Yeah. No doubt. And you think about it like longoria? He's got nine kids. Can you imagine avenue evacuate? I don't know about nine kids me. I would be me. My two dogs were out my girlfriend, my two dogs were out get that private jet. Mother-in-law? Gotta L. Yeah. That's right. So I get it. Why some people can't evacuate? I'm an evacuated though. I'm not a hunker down kind of guy. I'm a I'm let's hit the road and get the hell out of there. You got nine kids. You got to figure out how to get out. That's for STAN. Yeah..
