"In four three nine seven five seven five. We know what she notices a guy taking pictures of her. Don't take pictures of meet. The guy says darned dressed like a whole incident probably would have just ended but suzanne stitches video when he's take talk and asks more than three million followers to help them identify the guy lubbock texas. Who is this guy. Tizzy fines home. Don't work in an article that fedex fired him. Obviously you get people who are happy about things that i do. Statement made doing work. But i do get the other side as like i never condone harassing someone on triple j. You're listening to hack on triple j. I'm anche mccall macrey journalists mati smiley and jen o'clock. It's the shakeup we're talking about duxing jenna. What are you reading about dogs sing. It's it's pretty divisive. Where where do you stand on. It should can you do it ethically. Yeah it's really tricky. Because i guess on one on one hand you don't want to call out the bad behavior visit only on the hand. You don't really know what people are going through like especially in these todd like we've all been legally through global pandemic and it's really messed with our brains and our heads and our hot so you don't really know if someone's just having a bad day and just takes it out on someone and then spread the internet. I'm not really for it. I don't think you're going to change hearts and minds when it comes to problematic behavior. Wall street is absolutely abhorrent. And i don't agree with anything. That he's racist sexist time before he transferred to go anything like that. You not going to change hearts minds by then basically doing the exact same thing by trying to shame someone online because like we've seen in the high now we've seen not true impey's merge because of the information being alone and the things that they constituents haven't agreed with him about things i just here. Nwea and honored that the intake intake chafe at minister has needed to the ti j. outside they private residence because people are now basically sharing their private residential information and and putting their families at risk. I just don't think there's so much hate in conversations when it comes to social issues. It's not gonna help by all means capture footage when something inappropriate is happening but maybe take it to the the right authorities and if it saif captured the capture the footage and try and have a conversation with that person if the situation become a de escalates. Donyell you've called in. What do you think authors things become a bit of a fashion excitement like people. Just do it like without a proper reason. These days like to go viral like that kind of thing. I mean i can understand for some reason. He's doing something bad. You should do it. But i feel like a lot of people at a post on their twitter instagram. All the law. so i think Do you think i two point daniel. Does it work though. Like the argument is a will people have afraid of being videoed and publicly shames. And they won't do the bad thing. Whatever it is but like on people that are going to be racist or whatever that is the threat of seen going. Stop them from doing it. I think racism yes. I should talk stephanie. But i think some things like little given so little disagreements. I think some people just go with it goes all right. Thanks daniel monte money. What are your canoe. Does it actually work. Does it stop bad behavior. Or does it just become this kind of i dunno like public shaming that we all just kind of watched for entertainment and then nothing really comes of it. So what's the point. I've been docs really i was. I had my license posted on line with chad my address. What five the disappointing thing was that nari want all. I've made a story a the story. Someone didn't really lock brought attention to like a con of aspect of canine culture. Where you get. Fake days. And i i had the idea in mind in the story and so was able to somehow. Why zoom incredibly in captured and put it on a blog and said let's find him But no-one found me. So i didn't care waiting. No again i was. I was writing to the house and get into debate. I think that. I think it's a bit of a wild west isn't it is on the one hand you might be able to say. There's been some great pop culture moments where we've been able to see people and it feels great to say what we've nine as like a karen common who's shoes gone accosted someone in public for being african american and then they lose their job and you. Yeah and that's that's actually the the minority of cases right where that satisfying consequence happens. I imagine most of them are just. I don't know quite damaging. Say i'd say yes. I'd say it's split to be honest. I think there's a lot of docs. That's happening where the powerless are trying to take down people in positions of power and sometimes that is really satisfying to say. Because we know that there's no cost of justice with some of those people when they take it through the local police station and let's face it to be honest. How what is your local police station gonna do. If like you'll taking an obstacle photo or something like that that'd be like wow you know i will. We'll have to look into that to report that kind of thing. If you know so that it can stop. I guess we cops. Cops have been quite lenient on unresponsive on things to do with sexual assault and lots of micro aggressions in society. Yeah you're listening to hack on triple damage. Mccormack filling in avenue diaz on the tech sign. Hate people getting in touch georgia. You say this is absolutely not a k. Because it becomes extremely subjective about what bad behavior is anyway and most importantly every person should be respected. You can't fix bad behavior with something else equally unjustified. Two wrongs don't make a right geno. What do you make of that because it kind of gets into the territory. Where like who gets to decide what is problematic to george becomes objective. What might seem problematic to you. Might not to someone else. Yeah yeah and also the fact that if you're gonna call out someone and we get that satisfaction of someone losing their job and and rodley. Sorry it's only you might corporations are probably only doing that. Because they worried about the blowback to an issue that it's gonna close to their brand at superficial. It's not gonna change. Yeah yeah of course but is it going to quiz. Coast the system systematic change in terms of are we going to change hearts and minds of a lot of people. If we're just we're just gonna push thoughts and feelings of the underground and then all of a sudden every year. We're going to have an insurrection of the capitol because of these volts feelings have been bubbling away under the surface. Sorry i think there needs to be like show. I think it has its place. And i attorney grade that some people need to be out in some situations during a to be called out specifically if you are being trolled relentlessly online by some specific person under. There's one very prominent Feminists whose work i love. She's docs too few people and rightly so because she caught some absolutely horrific abuse online and it has resulted in one of hip hepatitis being fired from their job. And that's exactly right but if there's something that's happening in public just capture it and maybe.

"How to prevent boxing in two thousand twenty one on triple j think about these. You're on a train and kept someone trying to take a picture up your skirt. You take your phone out and video yourself confronting the guy he jumps off at the next stop and you never see him again until stranger on the internet uses. You'll video to find out who that guy was. They expose his personal data to millions of follows. An american toka is adding hates of people in this way sometimes for criminal behavior and he believes he's justified in doing that. But not everyone agrees meghna. American to talk at tizzy ent- posted a video of a young woman who had just moved to a little town in texas to go to college. It's like a first day there. She's in a warm up grabbing a few things and she notices a guy taking pictures of her. Don't take pictures of me. The guy says dressed like a whole and kohl's her disgusting care. The guy eventually walks away but the woman's pretty shaken up the incident probably would have just ended there but tizzy n. stitches the video when he's take talk and asks his more than three million followers to help him. Identify the guy lubbock texas. Who the fuck is this guy around. A month later. Tizzy finds him. He makes another video exposing his name. The townie lives in and what he does for a living. Maybe your new neighbors in midland texas. Where he moved in march will agree with me and may have to tell you when they think of your behaviors. They happen to run into you in the store. The tick talk has seven million views bad gas troubles fast in a small town. I tracked down tizzy. Whose real name is michael. Mcwhorter to ask him why. He spends his day watching people's worst behavior. For some reason. We've gotten very comfortable doing things. Even on camera to our fellow man that is oftentimes reprehensible and people feel completely emboldened to act that way. And i don't understand where that comes from tizzy this forty five year old dude from florida. He's got young kids and he makes films for a living. He's exposed the identities of all dogs more than sixty people on talk like white cops harassing young black. His anti vaccine coughing on retail workers. And even this fedex delivery driver who refused to deliver packages to homes that displayed black lives matter will pride flags tizzy usually only post. Their names hometowns and jobs. But they often end up being dachshund piled on by people on the internet at home. Don't work fedex no mo An article say that Fedex fired him. Obviously you get people who are happy about the things that i do statement made about doing. The lord's work. But i do get to the other side as well. I certainly my fair share of death. Threats tc tells me he doesn't take the work lightly like i never condone harassing someone. I will never give out someone's phone number for someone's address. There's a lot of times. I'm stuff where. Yeah that person did something that i don't agree with. But i don't think it merits the weight of the following. I have public shaming. Duxing takes something that already existed in the offline world historically state used from very very little time and kind of ads that align elephants. This is doctor. kimberly ellison. She's an associate research fellow at western sydney uni and has done a bunch of work in this space. She says public shaming has been used as an official punishment by humans fees the traditional justice system and the ways that they to shaving kind of punishment. Dr alison tells me. Some people often resort to boxing or public shaming. Because they feel like they have no other options. People often do the shame. The heavier because of a sense that someone is doing something wrong and it's not being addressed then getting away with it or perhaps thinking that the existing systems like the legal system the justice system. I'm not going to adequately deal is and some element of people will communities taking it and enhance their while. A lot of people may agree with the way. Tizzy doesn't duxing has a pretty dockside two now. The young women who've put queensland on the brink of a new surge the friends tested positive to covet nineteen and seemingly didn't give a damn in july multiple australian news organizations exposed the personal details of two young african australian women who covered rules now. They were charged by police. But the release of the names and images sparked racist and violent commentary on social media and colts to deport them. Dr allison's research shows whether you agree with dock single public shaming comes down to your own values. Some people a cpa steeper like rigid in moral standards in two wrongs. Make a right. And there's a lot of people who will be willing to make exceptions. We're willing to allow flexibility. Sometimes where we think that it's justify cheesy says he's not trying to get people cancelled or fired he just wants people to act decently. Maybe it's a naive notion to think that someone can make the world a slightly better place on. Triple j magna bollywood. That story christian in backsta has texted an interesting opinion. Good maybe if more people are held accountable for this shitty actions maybe they'll reconsidered the terrible behavior. I'd love to know your thoughts on doc seeing. Do you think it's justified. Maybe you've been the victim of all done the duxing. I'd love to know four three nine seven five seven. Triple five text me. So colette snowden researches these at the union of south australia. Thanks for coming on the show. They've been quite a lot of recent examples of doc seen australia. The chief minister this week he was dogs because any vacs protest is read out. He's home address. That went up on social media. That was big on craig. Kelly the pay his phone number was put up online. What are some other really crucial examples in the last couple of months in in the last couple of months i think the that dana few around the world but I guess your your introduction doesn't address the problem of what happens when people get it wrong and probably the most Obvious example is from a few years ago when there was The boston bombers and a photograph of one of the uh stakes was put up on In on social media sites and the wrong person was identified because A lot of people look alike dress alike. Some people have twins or siblings who look a lot like them. So one of the problems with dachshund misidentification and once. That's done as you probably out away. Once something wants information is Is online has a life of its own. Obviously the online element has really exacerbated. These like we just had that seeing shaming something that has been done for for many many years but the fact that it's happening on social media has intensified it. What are you seeing. Currently i mean like how it platforms like.

Juju Smith-Schuster Launches Esports Organization

"Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith Schuster just launched an Esports organization. I'm a dream is the Sportsman it presented by E Sports Network. Juju is one of the most active traditional sports players in gaming in Esports. He joined Drake and ninja along with Travis Scott during that famous fortnite stream and his work closely with his clan over the last few years today. He announced team diverged. The new organization is described as a gaming entertainment and lifestyle company based on that and it's athlete owner the Oracle likely be trending towards the faith content model and not a purely competitive Focus team diverge is also claiming to be the first athlete LED gaming entertainment and lifestyle company. And I guess that depends on how you categorize that type of company wage. The plenty of e Sports organizations are owned by athletes Verizon echo-fox are two big ones plenty of soccer players, including David Beckham kind of also have organizations and so do a couple of other football players wage. That's not even including all the athletes who invest in orgs most major organizations have at least a couple athlete backers some like energy have a whole roster of All-Stars regardless. This is an organization Page look out for right now. The plan is for the org is to recruit athletes musicians and other celebrities, then they plan to open a gaming house and twenty Twenty-One and that will certainly be a hub for some really interesting content for now. They've been Fielding any teams in major e sports, but they do want to put together a group of players to compete in gaming tournaments. I'm imagining they're aiming it like war zone and fortnite Pro-Am or something similar to that Juju is also keep a relationship with basically an intact according to an E Sports Observer article. Julia Roberts would rather people focus on unshaven legs than her age

"So Julia Roberts did not shave her legs. My gosh. That was so funny for the show when she appeared. It was kind of funny can watch six hours of Ellena. Julia. Yes. Yes. Without a doubt from the start when Julia walks out in her like red holiday. Cheerful outfit and wearing lake. She looked like grew. Race is a very beautiful grace loot. The Russians crew. Despicable me. And then Julia talked about wearing bright colors. Don't normally. But she does enjoy. Plaid you can tell she watches the show. She's totally right. And Ellen has no memory of that before. But very quickly upon Julia walking out somehow, Ellen was rubbing Julius Baer legs to see if she had shaved they were talking about the monologue about how how in every article that refers to your age and Julia said I would rather say Julia Roberts who hasn't shaved her legs in two weeks, and then Ellen filter leg and said, it's not two weeks. Definitely some stubble. It was so funny. It was just an amazing interview. Just like they have a terrific chemistry. Yeah. They really are fun. So we're gonna play clip of Julia Roberts for you now. And then you should watch the entire interview. Because I know it is still on your DVR. Listen, do you get the fifty one? I do do you get that really magazines all the time. You know, what I don't like is when they like frontload your age for you like I told a story in a magazine not that long ago. And I said, you know, and for my my birthday, I said something about being fifty and they changed it to fifty one because three weeks after the magazine came out. I was going to be fifty one right? And I felt well hold on a minute. Yeah. Not fair that is not truth in advertising. It's not wait, wait until I tell you know, your sixty hell the hell. I mean, I would rather they say, you know. Julia Roberts to hasn't shaved her legs in a week. At least that gives you some sort of interesting information if not true, did you shave today? Not today. Maybe yesterday. Five o'clock show. Very sexy. Have them. We can't have five shadows. Who says we can't? Well, you do. Yeah. Yeah. But it's a door will because you're adorable and fifty why because you're fifty one seriously. Why don't you text me back though? Okay. This is not I will not bear the burden of the responsibility of the lack of texting the last person. Who texted was me? I thank you for those beautiful flowers. You've sent a took a picture of them. I sent them to you nothing in this was years ago. Now, it's interesting we've been doing this a long time. But like when Julia Roberts is in the building it's a different feeling than than sometimes when their other people in the building like, you just there's there's a little bit about the to the stage win someone like Julia Roberts is in your big old movie stars and she time movie star. Yeah. And I love her show by the way homecoming and she's doing TV now. Yeah. Homecoming ten episodes on Amazon, I think so good. I loved it doesn't like bog yourself down taking ourselves. So seriously, not at all days losing every single game. I. Yeah. Like loved it. The other thing I love we did. Yeah. We helped her get more Instagram followers. She joined Instagram over the summer. Right. She has three million followers. Ellen has sixty million. A fact that Ellen needed to remind Julia of no less than so you have three million sixty million. So she helped her up her Instagram game. Right. So our friend Matt right produces segment and with the help of Kevin Leman came up with things to do to. How to Delete Digital Ghosts of Your Old Accounts

"This is tech news briefing im Tanya, boosters reporting from the newsroom in New York with a warning about digital, ghosts, as we face constant reminders that our personal data is pretty much scattered all over the internet. The journals, Katie Finley reminds us that deleting. Our old accounts is probably a good idea. She walks us through how after these tech headlines. Facebook has taken down hundreds of US pages, spreading false or misleading political content ahead of the midterm elections, marking one of the social media networks most aggressive efforts to stop misinformation spread primarily by Americans. Some of the pages being taken down include right wing news, which had more than three million followers as well as left-wing pages like resistance and reverb, press Facebook, added. The sites were taken down because of violations of behavior, not their content. NVIDIA, the GP you manufacturer for gamers that his emerged as the hottest chipmaker for a I and your friendly neighborhood. Autonomous vehicle pilot project is launching Rapids, an open source platform for data science and machine learning. And according to the journal CEO blog partners on the platform include IBM and Hewlett Packard. East sports. The world of professional video gaming is looking more and more like other sports. These days case in point, professional gamers are getting very serious about working out. The journal looks into a rising era of professional sports where gamers are adopting a life of physical training. Squat jumps ginger smoothies and yoga with big sponsors prize money and fan bases. Teams are also advocated players on ergonomics and hiring personal chefs and the potential for gaming injuries on the rise most frequently in the risks hands and fingers. The journals Timothy k, Martin has more on how the sports universe is further promoting a healthier lifestyle coming up how to delete the digital ghosts of your old accounts in era of increasingly vulnerable, personal data, a look at how to reduce your exposure. Be recent revelations of exposed Google plus data and compromised Facebook security serve as a stark reminder that many of us have a long trail of digitized information out there. Often in accounts, we don't use much anymore or kind of forgot even existed, no offense, ALL yahu and hotmail. And did you know my space still exists? We haven't even gotten into things like Craigslist, but not to where you help is on the way actually. And it comes by way of Katie. Been Lee joining us from San Francisco Katie. So glad we ran into you. Obviously, we're all feeling a little bit vulnerable. What Facebook and Google have on us is one thing. But when you start to think about the years of cleanup, we need to do it could get disturbing, but we need to start somewhere. So let's start with with Facebook's favorite company right now. Google Google plus leak is still pretty fresh. You know, the joke has been made, no one uses it, but most people have accounts and don't even note. So for Google. Especially a lot of people that I talked to just even in my life where like, oh, I didn't think I had a profile, and then I checked and sure enough. I have one and this is because there was a period of time where Google was requiring users to create a profile in order to do other things like post to YouTube was one of the examples. So yeah, so it's fairly straightforward and easy to to shut that one down and Google is shutting down Google plus for consumers over the next ten months. So they will be getting rid of them, but it's good to just be doing this. You know, I think of it is like spring cleaning in the fall. So you know, start with Google plus, and then you know you're gonna wanna move onto all the other ones that you've forgotten about. Let's move onto Facebook. A lot of people have been having these hearts, two hearts with themselves about whether they deleted. I'm actually not on it, and I thought I deleted my account, not so I realized idea activated it another loophole consider. So what should we know? This is so common. I mean for people to. Think that they've deleted it only to learn that they've deactivated at. And you know, part of this is probably because when you go to Facebook help pages about how to do this, they, you know, the de-activation information is is higher up than the deletion information because they would prefer to keep you as a user. So deactivating your account doesn't actually do much. It makes it so people can't search for you and you know your profile won't show up if if I were to type in your name, but all your data is is still there. It's it's almost like I dunno snoozing your account almost in really just doesn't have that much of an effect in the sense of, you know, nothing's gone, deleting, just take some extra steps and you know you wanna I, I think it's a good idea to download your data file before you delete because there might, I mean a lot of people, but on Facebook for years and years now and might have information in there that they don't want to get rid of. So you know, there's a fairly straightforward process in terms of finding were to download your data and then the vile will arrive in your Email inbox. And it comes really quick. I've done this multiple times and done stories about what information you'll find in there by downloaded my data yesterday and it arrived in my Email inbox within a few minutes. So that's a really quick process. And then you know, you find the delete button and actually delete after you've done that, though. Facebook does give you thirty days to change your mind affectively. So you just want to be careful about, like if you've made the decision that you want to delete permanently and you've got like password information and log information saved in your browser or like if you type in FAA see something and my, you know, pop up, log you in and then that would affectively undo the deletion process. If it's within thirty days of when you cancelled your account, could to know you came up with a really solid list. I encourage listeners to check out katie's piece at wsj.com plush tech because there's a lot we can. There's a whole rabbit hole we could fall into in terms of cleanup here. One thing I want to make sure we hit upon is our Email accounts. It's been a lot of years. Some of us more. Than others have opened many Email accounts. What's one way we can really tackle the wealth of you know accounts that may have come our way and gone our way. I mean, once one step would be if you have a, if you have a password manager to go through and look at the list of saved Loggins if you've been using one for a while, you might have quite a few, you know, Email accounts and other social media accounts and website accounts and all that. And then also I found like one of the best things to do is just typing and welcome to in your various Email, inboxes, find different things that you've signed up for, and then you can kind of start making a list of your own. But I mean, if it's mostly like if you think about it, you know if you haven't used an Email account and years and years, there's just not really a good reason to keep it open. I mean, it's different if you maintain separate spam accounts or accounts where you want, you know everything to go that you don't. You know, that's kind of nonessential, but these these really old ones, there's just not much of a good reason to have it lying around and a security. Researcher who has spoke with recommended for you know any account that's got any kind of personal information for it that you wouldn't want to get out there that just changed the information to like Demi information before you actually delete it. And the reason for this is that you know, he says there's a strong likelihood that companies don't wipe all the data. So they might have like databases of a database of closed accounts. And if there was say a, you know a breach of that company or that website that you know the data on the closed accounts could include your own. So it's just an extra step. You can take to protect yourself and you know to make it so that if there is a breach on a site that you've stopped using and they did have that data in there, the information that
