"During that break during that newsbreak. I downloaded that app. Forget what it's called now. But I did is called. I think it's called Whale. Watch that org. Let me see if that's what whale alert. Sorry. Whale alert dot org Didn't take any time at all. It Z pretty fascinating. You could see the whales are you could report whale sightings. It's kind of cool. Listen, vaccinated, right whales. I know. So awesome. I don't know. Maybe it's free Willy. And you know that Star Way Star Trek movie with the Wales? You know, I don't know They're just fascinating and I get sad when I hear about The, UM native tribes a lot of them in Alaska that want to hunt with some in Washington state, I think, And yet they're restricted to how many they can do It. Z a religious kind of experience. They don't waste the whale when they hunt for it. So you know, I've kind of come over to that side that it's an acceptable thing to do on the whales are no longer endangered. So I I guess that's okay. But I don't know. I always want to protect him. So listen, I want to spend a little bit of time talking about something's cove. It First of all I want to tell you this because this is something that I've sort of suspected for a long time. I've told you that I think suspected this for a long time. And now there is some research that has been done that affirms that perspective that suspicion there's a new analysis that comes to us from scientists at the University of Washington. They're saying that 6.9 million people worldwide have died from Cove in 19. That's more than double the official death toll. It comes from the Institute for Health metrics and Evaluation. They estimate that the total number of U. S. U. S deaths is that more than 905,000. That's about 60% higher than the 561,594 deaths currently reported by the U. S Centers for Disease Control Prevention. So we're talking about a little less than 600,000. They're saying that it's It's more like over 900,000 and even at this as their reporting this information These may well be under estimates. Um, in India, where we know the disease is totally overwhelmed that country. Certainly it's overwhelmed their health care system. They're estimating more than 650,000 people have been killed by the virus, nearly three times their official count in Russia. The true number is about five times higher than reported, and all experts tend to agree. The cove in 19 deaths have been widely under reported. But this particular study is the first attempt to tease out the true number on a global scale. They estimate the expected number of deaths in each country during a typical year. And then they compare it with the actual number during the pandemic. Ah lot of covert desko and counted because there are countries that only record fatalities that occur in hospitals or in people who have confirmed effect infections at the very beginning of this pandemic. We had away under count of what was going on because it was just being disclosed to us. And so there were things that were being potentially misdiagnosis and the people who are being hit the hardest remember where elderly people with co morbidity ease. And so there was a presumption that they would have died at that time from their age and the co morbidity from which they suffered. So in a lot of cases, this was unintentionally. Ah, missed data. And, you know, I think it's completely understandable. Ultimately, I think we're going to know the results. I think we're going to actually know what happened here, too high level of certainty. We're never going to know the exact numbers, but I think Um, you know, to a high level of certainty we're gonna have this information. In any event. I think that it's important for us to understand this. It's important for us to know that it's worse. It's worse. The immortality rate is worse than what we're told in the United States by their saying, 44%. I think it may be higher and in the beginning after a few months we saw these puppet was published actually in The New York Times. They published what the number of deaths were in the United States on this chart, and the chart kind of showed a steady number If you picture line chart And you know you picture the very bottom of the line chart you have the years and on that line chart is very low on the line chart. You have the line that goes across the number of years that indicate a very steady number of deaths within the United States. I don't have it in front of me. Right now. I'm doing this by memory, and then it gets to 2020 And that number spikes. I mean, it goes way high. So these numbers were way low over years, many many, many years and then all of a sudden 2020 inches. Spike's way up. It was the only thing and when when you took the number of covert death that had been reported and compare it to that chart, the number of covert desk didn't cover the number of additional desk that had taken place. Now. Not all of the additional deaths are going to be covert desk directly. Some of those deaths would be people who didn't go to the doctor because they were afraid. Didn't go to the hospital because they were afraid so they didn't seek medical care earlier on when their lives might have been saved, and they died from other things, in part because they sought medical care too late or never did receive it and ended up dying of whatever it was that was ailing them. Cancer is one of those things we saw big increases. People are coming out of their homes and getting diagnosed going to doctors going to the hospital. We're seeing stage for cancers that are being diagnosed now, where last year there was a decline in the number of cancer diagnoses. So the reason that this their stage forth this point is because people didn't try to deal with him in earlier stages when they might have been able to prevent them from reaching the later stages. So this is a big deal. Now. The reason I bring this up is not only because it's an interesting epidemiological study, and it's something ultimately we're all gonna want to know not just for that not just for general interest, but because we have a problem. And the problem is that there are a lot of people who are vaccine averse. So I'd like to spend the rest of this segment going up to the top of the hour. Tim seek is going to join us in the next hour and I want to talk about What people Need to do. I mean, what? What? What will it take? What we need to do to get people who are vaccine averse to get vaccinated. What is it going to take? What is it going to take for you to get vaccinated? So let me tell you a couple of other things, and I'm hoping that some of these things are going to move someone. One is that we just heard from Fizer that they have made an application with the FDA to get a permanent approval to get a regular approval of the Fizer vaccine. The cove it vaccine. Right now. All the vaccines in the United States of functioning on an emergency use authorization, which you could Legitimately say is experimental because it kind of is. It doesn't have the final approval. But Fizer now has filed for a final approval once they get that, is that what it's going to take? When they get the final approval from the FDA, where they say this is no longer emergency use authorization. You can't call it experimental anymore. This is an FDA approved.

New York judge orders restoration of DACA, opens program to new applicants
"For those fighting against President Trump's pushed in the deferred action for childhood arrivals or DACA program, A federal judge ruled the Trump Administration must start accepting new applications after years of trying to scrap that program. Currently about 650,000 people are enrolled in Dhaka, which allows certain young immigrants who were brought to the country illegally as Children. Illegally live and work without fear of deportation. The Department of Homeland Security responded to the decision, saying, quote the Department of Homeland Security. Holy disagrees with this decision by yet another activist judge acting from his own policy preferences. Judges. Latest decision similar to his earlier inaccurate ruling is clearly not sound law or logic. We will abide by this decision while we work with DOJ on next steps to appeal. Meanwhile, a spokesperson for President elect bite his transition team said quote For the second time, a court has ordered the administration to resume processing DR applications. It's time to do the right thing on day one. President elect Biden will insure dreamers and their families have the opportunity to live their lives free of fear and continue to contribute to our country. Doctor program was started in 2012 when President elect Biden was vice president. So what does this mean for the future of those dreamers, the DACA program and the ongoing legal efforts to eliminate it. Joining us tonight to discuss those issues is c'mon necessary. Immigration and criminal attorney as well as an ice and customs specialist. Mr Necessary. Thank you so much for joining us tonight. Thank you for having me So first Friday's ruling does open the program to new DACA applicants for the first time since 2017 approximately how many people could now benefit from this Close to half a million is the projected number. I think the last tally was about almost 400,000 and is probably even more than that of people who haven't come forward at this is this is a great victory for people who are advocates of Dhaka. Alright and explain to us really, What is Dhaka and what does it do? And gives the opportunity to people who are brought here as Children, and they're undocumented. Here in the United States. They have a clean record. They passed the background checks there, either in school or they have completed school and they're of the sound age to now, go and join the work force or go to college, and this allows them to continue their education or to start a business or go to work. Legally here in the United States, and it provides checks on these people every two years to make sure they're complying with the terms of the with DACA. Okay, and you said close to half a million people could be impacted, maybe more, because maybe people that just had, you know, have not yet come forward would have all of these potential DACA applicants been doing since that program was suspended. Three years ago. And here lies up. Almost. You have some people who've had Dhaka and they've been renewing it. But for those people who haven't been able to get the benefits of doctor they've been unfortunately having to work under the table. Some of them have worked jobs. A lot of them have been unemployed. And there are some that haven't even been able to finish their education if they wanted to apply for financial aid, go to college because they can't get a social security number to go forward with the rest of their lives and You were brought here is 345 years old and they were never gave. You haven't been able to move forward. So one of them have been just hiding in the shadows and waiting to see what happens. And let's look at this from the other side, though. So for people who say you know what these families needed to come here and do it the legal way. What is your response to that? The kids didn't choose to come here illegally. You know, the parents brought them here. The Children are here. They're people that are Dr recipients that are probably in your community that in your friends, your circle of friends, your circle of business. And you have no idea where Dr recipients. There are people who have been here since two years old. You've got to high school with your Children have been high school with you even and you won't even know that they're doctor recipient. So you can't look at someone and tell whether or not they're undocumented out. This is an opportunity for people to be here. Their work, go to school and contribute to the economy contribute to society. And I don't see anything wrong with that. If people are gonna be here and they want to contribute and do better and make themselves better Why we? Why can't we tell them know? Who are we to tell him now? All right, And we did here. I I read that statement from the Department of Homeland Security. We know, spokesman Chase. Jennings criticized the judge's ruling. We know some states are asking that the program be declared unlawful They wanted terminated, so it's very possible that this is not the end of the story with doctor right? It is very possible but for me personally, I think unlikely. I mean, look, I've spoken to a lot of Department of Homeland Security attorneys officers with U. S. C. S attorneys that work in immigration court. Most everybody wants doctor here because it's it's amazing solution. That's not necessarily permanent sun a pathway to citizenship, but it closes out a lot of cases and loose ends for a lot of people. The people who don't want doctor here are just people who are anti immigration policy to begin with. Having Dhaka is such a positive has such a positive effect on society and for people that are here, undocumented that for the majority of people wanted here. All right, Mr some monastery, Immigration and criminal Attorney. Thank you so much for joining us and sharing your knowledge with us tonight. Thank you
