"It ultimately that was proven right because he got a third Adelaide, obviously it was a mad race and Damon hill, all of the finishes that were left. He was two laps up on everybody else. But it was a fantastic result for morbidelli and I think getting a podium in an arrows when there is no money in the team. That's context or not a really good result. And I think that's why he gets numb known. Yeah, I've got no argument with that at all. I think also the fact that he's been brought back, that's great, because we all talked about the impact on the team, what it means to the team, like for someone to make that choice to bring someone back. I think that's a real big plus. And I think we'll come across this a little bit further on the list as well. It's always balancing impact with longevity. And I think that obviously morbidity has the extra season over three quarters of two thirds and so you want to have over 50 power. So I'm pretty, pretty happy with him in 9th. Also, he makes me think of the original Formula One game on the Sony PlayStation. In 15th place, Johnny. I played this recently awesome game. I play it semi regularly. Purely just to hear Murray walker's excitement every time you pick gabrieli tarquini. Each talk queenie is phenomenal. Great game if nobody at home okay, you can probably get it for a couple of queer down local game store if you've got a PS1 or I don't want to promote the use of emulators or anything but you know do what you got to do. Get the original Formula One game and have a great time. If you played full length Grand Prix, which I did as a teenager like falling station you've got to do it is that on the original Formula One game has placed to F one mindset which came later is that you get to half distance and half the field will stop every lap. So that would be half the field. You definitely beat because every lap would be an in or out lap, we were like a 2022 Ferrari F one strategy. Don't play that mode. Excellent excellent. Just a quick footnote on morbidelli, I met him in 2015 at the TCR international racing around at Monza thoroughly nice man can confirm. Oh, we like that. Even best that he's in at number 9 then. Moving on to number 8, it's Jos Verstappen raced for arrows slash footwork in two stints, 1996, the last year of the footwork, arrangement, and then in 2002 1001 season. Ended up starting 50 races for the team and scored 7 points JBL. Why is the much less famous Verstappen? Was he at number 8? Well, first of all, his biggest achievement was giving birth to max, probably. I don't think that that would have been just that did that part. To be honest with you, I had Verstappen actually higher up this list when I was first writing it. I considered his 2000 season, got 5 points, really, really strong in the races in particular. His first season with the team in 1996. This was the first season when it was still technically footwork on the entry list at this point, but Tom walk and sure it already bought it. And so the FA 17 that year, it was, it wasn't a particularly pretty car. To be honest with you, it was kind of that awkward 1996 aesthetic that it was very, very similar to Ferrari and it looked it like it kind of had an armchair on the cockpit with the cockpit side regulation. It wasn't the best car and it wasn't particularly good performer. Verstappen was able to qualify it in the midfield, but Ricardo rosset and the other car was pretty much stuck to the back. Very early on walking shore decided, you know, I'm not going to invest my money into this car. I'm going to put all of the eggs that I'm investing into this team into the 1997 basket. So Verstappen was kind of left to make do with that car. He was able to get it into the midfield during qualifying in the early part of the season, out qualified both McLaren's and Argentina to take 7th on the grid. And he scored for 6th beating Coulthard and panis in that race. But yeah, walking short decides to invest in that 97, can't kind of depreciated over the season. That was kind of it for Verstappen for the team for four years. He joined terror, then rossett came back into the picture for that team because BAT didn't want to basically underwrite a car that was, it wasn't going to be their BAR project. Did a half season with Stuart in 1998 when Magnussen was kicked out through his lot in with Honda's abortive F one project and then walking shorebird back to arrows for 2000. And that car was good that year, that it was very, very quick in a straight line. Designed by the Iranian designer ECMO harmony who basically took these new super tech engines because they bend off the arrows engine project. Found below the pace from it. Wasn't particularly good at circuits like Monica and that kind of thing, but at Belgium at imola at not him. Sorry, Monza. Hockenheim really, really good. But as we mentioned earlier, de la rosa was far better in qualifying. I think he had Verstappen beat in 12 to 5 in qualifying. But Verstappen was 5 to two up in points. Points don't tell the whole story, of course. But this happened just made the most of those opportunities. It probably didn't help that Della racer was involved in a massive crash at the start of Monza, the Verstappen was able to finish four of that. And then there's 2001 to go on as well. We can't really compare the teammates because Enrique and all the other car wasn't stellar at all. But he was such a sort of fixture at the start of races, particularly towards the front because that a 22 had such a small fuel tank that the car was so light at the start of the races compared to everything else. So Verstappen would just get a load of places at the start. Be around P 5 P 6. And then when pit stops and stuff started to come in, then he'd start to fall back, but you know, it was a good way to probably get the car on the telly, wasn't it? Yeah, I think I'd probably have him a place. So maybe that's a bit romantic, but I'd probably have him replace higher because of those sorts of performances. And obviously, I've already said that I'd like the larosa possibly in the list, which means I can then bump just a bit harder as well to keep the gap.

"I wanna mention in this one. Just very briefly. Jack miller for some reason kind of seems stuck in this sam. Lowes type of waste where he's fourth or fifth like every race. It just can't figure out how to get on the podium and it looks all the more glaring in contrast to what his teammate has been up to. Of course it doesn't help that he got beat by rookie on a two year old. Do khadi on frisia mirror. Qualifying does him in again. It's the same story. for suzuki. mir did a good job. He crossed the line. V before getting demoted when spot for a truck limits violation on the final lap so he improved six spots from where he started imagine. If he'd started on the first two rows he would have easily been putting in contention in this one. It's all about qualifying for those guys and ktm got bit by qualifying this weekend as well. Now on the other side of the board polo spago may had finished better in silverstone as far as the results were concerned. But this was just about as good of a race for him. He looked legitimately racy especially early on and then held on for a nice finish looking down the field a little bit further maverick fan. Y'all s scored points which that's a good sign improvement from his first race on the apprecia-. What's not a good sign though maverick lineup tenth on the grid. Great qualifying effort and he was seventeenth across the line. The first time around so apparently the move provia isn't going to do a whole lot to solve the terrible starting problem for maverick fan ya'll as you would think fresh start new bike new enthusiasm he would be able to ditch all those gremlins. At least that one is still hanging out. And i think that's a little bit concerning. I know it's early on but that should be at least a little bit of a concern for everybody to try to address before it becomes a major problem for him when the bike really does click with him and he starts to get better and better results. Up for valentino rossi. His first last race at misano didn't go terribly. Well qualifying just killed any shot at a decent result but he did finish ahead of franken morbidelli whose debut on the factory bike didn't go terribly well but he's still recovering from a major knee injury and he did finish ahead of andrea of it's the oso whose debut on the patrol spike didn't go terribly. Well you you see the pattern. Here right But hey dobie still needs time to get back in the racing shape but at least he finished ahead of nobody. He finished dead last so he really has. Some work to do is what i'm saying. So you're voting him in this one on top of the box for the second week in a row francesco back by his six podium of the season as he continues to establish himself as a future contender in twenty twenty two and a way better rider than he looked like. Even last year a fabulous charro may not have won this race but frankly he didn't need to even second is a significant step forward towards a motor gp championship. Then branding things out a neighbor. Asti anini his maiden motogp podium was incredibly fun to watch and a great moment for him in dementia do coty now as we look towards the championship. It's not over yet technically. But we're rapidly getting to that point. Fabio cortra- does lose a little bit of ground in the ryder standings. Not a whole lot. And he takes forty eight point lead out of me. Sano with just four races left to go. And yes like the world be commentators. Were saying because the lead isn't over fifty points right now that technically does mean that. He can't mathematically clinch in the us round at circuit of the americas. But that wasn't going to happen anyway. Because that would have required fabio to win and then back to like fall down and scores zero points. I don't know that either of those things is gonna happen. joanne mir is sixty. Seven points back in third realistically though he's out of this one and for petco. It's not looking good. He needs to make up. Twelve points parades just to tie and if he wins all four races in the process. That's the only way he would then have the tiebreaker over. Fabio coiro in wins. And if petco did win all for then all you would have to do is average a fourth place finish and then just find one more point on top of that and he still wins the championship. But you know there's no guarantee that bobbio was gonna average fourth-place place finish from here on out. So i suppose that the door is open. Just a little tiny bed but if we're being a bit more realistic about things and we say hey. Petco continues with this momentum. His a great finish to the season and average is a much more realistic second-place finish from this point forward. That means if bobbio just needs to score cheap points per race and that's it so an average finish of eighth. And i'm sure you can see where i'm going with this because even a slightly struggling coiro still probably going to average at least an eighth place finish so i'm expecting to wrap things up here either. At the end of the next misano round or in portugal. I would be shocked. If the title was still in question going into valencia. Where the did coiro would have a huge advantage over bag to kati by the way so things are really breaking in fabio queiroz direction rate. Now it's only a matter of time. He just needs to take care of business. Don't fall down and he's pretty much. Got the two thousand twenty one championship locked up and then all we have to figure out at that. Point is the very hotly contested constructor and team championships which are definitely up in the air between yamaha and do coty this season all right so my take on the same marino. Gp it didn't have the same excitement as aragon well outside of the motorway madness but the first piece on race definitely had some unexpected twists and turns and in intense. Finish to the modal gp race. So i'll take that as a start and expect a little bit more exciting action throughout the field. When we're back at the marco semen shelly circuit in about a month's time all right. So that's my take on the san marino. Gp what did you think of the race. You know what to do. Leave your comments on facebook at facebook dot com slash motor week dot net or over on the red. It sabat are slash motor week..

"The way if you're motorcycle insurance allows you to spend even if it's like five bucks or ten bucks a month extra for towing looking at that towing belfer pistol pete. Good investment right. Now i do have triple a but i think insurance would be cheaper overall because aaa makes you pay extra if you have a motorcycle. Which by the way. I think sucks that they do that but they do. And here's the thing. All right so pistol pete side of the road waiting for the tow truck with his. He wasn't the only one rogue three standing by also posted a pick sitting by the side of the road next to his tone. Oh what are the odds of that. By the way this time it was a rear flat tire which again pretty crappy. Whenever i've been on big trips. I typically carry a patch kit and the timing electric pump. You know just turned me somewhere where i can have a professional. Take a look at it if i have a flat but that was only a long trips and that was what the bmw bags and places to keep a bunch of stuff. Tony doesn't have that luxury of being stranded. Anywhere sucks but being stranded in the summer wearing your gear is like the worst but seriously You guys have to pick better themes for photo contests. Then what's the most creative way. I can get my stuck by the side of the road But moving on to things that are much cheerier much happier times tattoo. Raven went to that neat current tractor event at circuit of the americas berry very jealous so many great things happening. They're small group. Track time at a full on modo. gp circuit nate's there. Of course ben spe- showed up although. I'm pretty sure that that was a yamaha. He was riding in that video. And not a bmw. And your wife's reaction to the ride along in the m three. That was absolutely hilarious. And by the way i would echo is something you said in a response on that post. I would always always always suggest that if you're doing any kind of car based track event where there's an option or an offer to do a ride along totally do and i mean. Obviously those are much more common car events as opposed to motorcycle based events but do it if you get the opportunity. If you're not that interested you'll have fun and if you're really interested it's so valuable because you think you know what a particular car might be capable of. Maybe even driven the car right. Then you get into the car where professional is driving it and you find out that all along you only figuring out in the end what you were capable of now you find out what the car is capable of with a pro or an instructor you find out that you can push it a lot further than you would imagine. And i've done that in streetcars. Sports cars in stock cars. And it makes you better when you're behind the wheel yourself. And i wish there was an easy way to do the same thing with bikes. You know outside of the few people who've gotten the awesome opportunity to ride the to up motor. Gp bike with rainy memola There aren't really that many opportunities to get on a bike with somebody a professional. You can really get the feeling that they get and plus. You're adding so much weight to the bike that that feeling that you get riding to up really doesn't match what you get on your own but when it comes to a car man get in it and do the right along you learn so much Guy on two wheels. You're going to get a couple of votes for me for parents of the year or grandparent. I'm not sure which one or the other not only are you getting. the little ones hooked on motor. Gp at the right time. But i believe you said that one of them was named luca is that right because he's already got a motor. Gp name at that point. So you gotta get him on the bike like asap with a name like that. You're gonna win something not quite sure. What but you're gonna win something so get a bike and then finally malin which i'm assuming stands for minnesota come on man check out that do coty three fifty old school. Gp south bearing. I dug it with the stickers but it looks even better when you cleaned it up. It looks the part. I can't imagine what it's like to have the chain and the shift or on the right side. The bike think i would probably put myself over the windshield a couple of times thinking. I was shifting when it was really breaking. I i don't understand how some of you guys fate is like this to faith three sixteen find these awesome bikes to bring home. All i find are like broken down ninety s bikes that. Follow me home. I gotta start searching harder for like really cool awesome stuff. I love it seriously. Good looking old school bike. And by the way. I just popped over before i started the show to the red at sub real quick and chip has posted the first picture of the custom bearing the archie fifty one and it looks good. Top marksman definitely top marks cannot wait until the tank is done. We get a good shot seeing the entire by kind of coming together and i will admit that last week i was searching for fifty one's on craigslist. I know i shouldn't looking anyway kid. It doesn't cost anything. The look i mean eventually it does but at least that's what i'm telling myself all right so that's it for the comments and pick some video for this week if i didn't get here it's it's probably because you posted it just recently in the last few hours or so just simply haven't seen it yet. so make sure you keep posting. There also was another picture that was right below chips of an old school buell. I believe it was a tube frame one as well. Yeah i think it was an s. One lightning one way or the other. It was very cool and we'll talk about it on the next show along with what chip is up to fifty one but for now we gotta move on because this weekend. That's right we're back at it again after that incredible battle between petco bag and marquez and aragon no waiting to find out what's going to happen next hopefully we'll have just as thrilling of a battle for the win as motor. Gp moves to misano. Who gets two rounds. At the world circuit marco semen celli just like they did season ago. Now this time around. It's not two races in a row but both races have the potential for some unexpected results of the italian. Riders of course are going to be ultra motivated at home too in particular valentino rossi of course running in one of his final motogp races in front of the hometown fans and the italian writer making his return to the motogp. Read that considers san marino his home track andrea of ceo's so on top of that where franken morbidelli making his return in factory colors. No less fabio coiro. His new teammate is looking to get his championship. Run pointed back in the right direction again. And then we've got mark and petco maybe setting up a number two. We can only hope right so there's a lot to look forward to this weekend. Let's talk about it from the track to the favorites. A couple of riders. I've got a my watchlist this weekend. Then of course. I'm gonna make some picks we'll start with where they're racing the saana world circuit marco semen celli. And it's a very interesting track for a couple of reasons. First and foremost. This place is intensely italian. And with being the first of the two-part. Goodbye to valentine rossi. Even though the venue isn't allowed to build the capacity at least for this race you can bet that the fans that they do let in are going to be over the top enthusiastic and there's going to be yellow everywhere as they all desperately hope that their hometown hero can give his illustrious motor. Gp career a proper. Send off with one more podium number two hundred But even though this is a bit of an italian cathedral and they're going to be rooting orb morbidelli and also in bag nyas. Well that doesn't necessarily mean the italian writers dominate here. Nobody does really. And that's the next interesting aspect of asano in the last nine races. Over eight years. Marc marquez is the only repeat winner not dolby. Not rossi only marquez. He's done at three times while six. Two writers have all won once during that span and there are several reasons for that sometimes. It's the weather sometimes. It's a little bit of luck. in sometimes. The.

"Obviously if he started winning races or getting on the podium could indirectly affect the rider championship but it could however make a real difference in what we were talking about earlier with valentina. Rossi the team race. Because if valentino give factory yamaha a slightly better chance of locking down that team championship. I think franken morbidelli. If he's feeling healthy we'll give them a much better chance of locking down that championship so in the end they might get some pushback from do on that because to cadiz not necessarily going to wanna willingly allow yamaha to get a much better quality rider on that second bike win on a technicality. They can either prevent it all together or force him to use the older equipment. I don't know what they would do that. But it all depends on. How much do. Kati wants to win that team championship. And it also doesn't say in the rule book if that has to be a unanimous decision or not and so if you know the answer to that definitely let me know on facebook or read it now. The other potential hang up here is that yamaha was rumored to be offering petronas to be suspect bikes for next year. Not necessarily a full factory and a b spec and in that case i would be pretty surprised if doby said yes to being handed a euro bike when we know he said no to aprilia for whatever. Their latest stuff was but yamaha could always simply change their mind on that offer. Patrolling the factory stuff for andre the video so should he want to race next year and then for this year he wouldn't necessarily have to take over the morbidelli bike for up to three races. He could be a wild card and get full factory equipment. At that point as well maybe impetus colors but he could be given any engine. They wanted him to have if he was just running. Say the last three races of the year as a wildcard as a warm up for next season and then up to that point. They do the thing where they're swapping outriders whether it be you know bender dixon or chevy vr. Hey or somebody else. Now the idea of bringing dre also two yamaha to ride on one of the sat rt bikes long-term. This would not be an impactful. Move for yamaha mean w is going to be thirty six years old next year. He's not gonna stick around for very much longer one way or the other short-term though it does solve a few major problems especially concerning s rt. It gives them a much needed injection of performance potential which they're sorely lacking this year in having a well known and popular writer on the bike is gonna make it much easier to bring in a sponsor. Maybe that's part of the deal when it comes to with you. I'm sure they would be much more excited to be working with the young rider and andrei dot. Co them may be a motoo rider. That hasn't done a whole lot. Emoto three writer. That probably shouldn't be making the jump straight to the premier class straight away so both of those things performance in sponsorship very critical right now with petronas bailing on the team as a sponsor leaving them probably pretty desperate for financial support. And let's face it. If you can't have allen tina rossi to bring in the bucks. Have an andre the video so not that bad of an alternative so because of the situation currently at us. Rt and a complete lack of viable alternatives on the outside bringing riders and talent. I think there is a real chance that this could happen. And like i said short-term not really a bad thing. I don't see the downside especially since it buys them another year where they can start playing in the two thousand twenty three scillies market where a lot more. Riders are going to be available and they'll probably be able to find some young talent to come up to the us. Rt team all right. So that's what's happening on the yamaha side of things. I know it's a lot to take in and a lot the process but just another week for the folks that yamaha. Now let's take a brief look at the other side of the equation which could end up being just as interesting. Maverick vangelis now. An official free agent could already be headed to approach. This was my thought about a second. After reading net yamaha announcement and intrigued. Goose asked the same thing on read. It is maverick headed to a right away. I think there's an even better chance of that. Then the andrea dot co soda. Yamaha thing there are already rumors that massimo revolt probably is ready to pounce on this very fortunate opportunity with plan skin maverick on an appropriate to test by the next week probably just scheduling motorcycles to be available was the big hurdle there and then after that point they're going to assess his comfort level out of that first test and come up with a plan with a very strong possibility that he'll run wild card braces between now and the end of the season and the thing is he could run every single race from aragon to the end of the season without having to be a jerk till lorenzo salvadore in the reason for that is because apparently still has concessions and that means they get six wild card appearances to use a year. Instead of three and with tentatively six races left in the season after silverstone. If in y'all as feels good enough after the test he could conceivably run the rest of the year and they wouldn't have to boot. Lorenzo salvadore out of the second bike to make that happen and as unusual of circumstances. This is weird of a situation. I mean we're talking about this. Before of rider in the middle of the season leaving the top manufacturer statistically of course to go to the bottom manufacturer. If really can make those wildcards happen. They absolutely should. It is a no brainer that they should put maverick on the bike. Like yesterday and not have a layoff between his time with omaha and his time with really. They need to have him on track. I mean we saw what happened inhaler. Enzo sat out a long time. And then try to get back on the grid and then andre david. Co so who may or may not but. He certainly is going to be rusty if he does come back this year. The last thing. That apparently or maverick for that matter want is for him to sit out. Half a season mean who knows what effect that might have on him heading into twenty twenty two plus. They get a huge advantage in terms of development and getting the bike. Ready for maverick. Next year in the word is that a probably are very close to having their new much more powerful and jim ready to roll out. The one that alex fargo said was so desperately needed to be able to match the capability of the chassis. So the timing is perfect. Get that bike in that engine. Inventory his hands right away when the pressure is off. There are no expectations here so he can fully get comfortable he can finish. That lasted doesn't matter. The important part is that he starts working on the package and getting it suited toward him so he can hit the ground running in two thousand twenty two so there will be no better plan than for them to get mab measured up for leathers and get him on the bike as quickly as they possibly can. In fact be stupid not to in fact. Andreas was convinced over on. Read it that this was all part of an evil master plan by says knowing that a had this new engine on the horizon had up the any little bit get yamaha to the point where they were okay to cut him loose so he could just make the switch and take advantage of it..

"Wouldn't blame yamaha. If they don't feel they can trust him to try to get good results especially not in the wake of the appropriate deal in that announcement. Because you know if maverick had gotten back on the almond finished dead last every race from here on out what difference would it. Really even make to maverick. I mean it's not going to affect whether he has a gig next season or not and you could make him look kind of bad not trying if it was provable that he wasn't trying but it probably doesn't care about that and that's all that really matters to him right now and on top of it. If he went out there and didn't try and finished very poorly he can just turn the whole thing around and blame it on yamaha blaming on the bike. He did that when he was happy with them so of course he would try to do that when he was unhappy with them and then they would feel compelled to defend themselves and then it just gets weird and uncomfortable the rest of the season and then on top of that yamaha gain the ability to start really testing parts for twenty twenty two on that second bike and yeah that luxury does come at the expense of the team championship or at least endangering their bid for the team championship. But that really would have hinged on maverick getting on the m one and getting consistent results consistently good results and that was kind of up in the air so it still may have been a bit of a gamble one way or the other even though as we talked about before of is that rides to his potential would've given yamaha a massively better shot at winning the team title and so in some ways. They're really writing that off but as we'll talk about here in a couple of minutes maybe they still have an answer to up their sleeve that they haven't played yet. I'm but still one way or the other. Even though maverick benefits on one side and yamaha certainly benefits on. There's this is still crazy to think about. I mean this is in a situation like joins zarko at ktm. There were no discernible results. It just wasn't working in both sides understood that and they decided the partways really more because ktm wanted to develop for the next year. It's not that they didn't want to be nice to zarko. I mean he would've stuck around and they would have him stick around till the end of the year had. They not had the new stuff that they wanted to develop for last season. But in this case this is a writer with a win and two podiums this season. He's six overall in points. And that's what the couple of terrible races and not only is he leaving a factory team that is leading the rider constructor and team championships right now but he may actually end up bracing for another factory team before the end of the year and again this is not like the johann zarco situation. Yes sarko wrote a honda at the end of that season. But it wasn't the same thing i mean. This is legitimately a guy who could have been an started out the year as a title contender dumping the best manufacturer. Statistically this season to go to the worst manufacturer this season. i mean. It's definitely not something that you or. I would have ever dreamed of at the beginning of the year. So that's the deal and we'll talk about the implications for maverick and what he might do next in a moment but first let's start with yamaha's plan going forward. Which at least for this weekend in silverstone consists of cal crutch. Slow moving to the factory bike and then a second british rider. Jake dixon coming up from the petronas moto to team to take over the motor. Gp bike for probably. What's just one race. But hey it's like the biggest race of his life he gets the race a motor. Gp bike made his debut at his home. Track in silverstone. Now cal was set to participate this weekend. Anyway of course on the franco morbidelli bike. Having him on maverick fan. Y'all is bike makes so much more sense for the reasons that we've already talked about moves from franken morbedelli's two thousand nineteen chassis to occur at one where he may or may not perform that much better but he'll have a real ability to test parts and provide feedback in data. That is far more useful to yamaha the rest of this season and of course heading into twenty twenty two and then the dixon thing i mean it doesn't necessarily mean he's gonna get that ride next season but it is a fantastic opportunity for the team to see whether he's got the potential to make that move for those who aren't terribly familiar. Jake dixon's moto statistics. Not really the thing that big time careers are built off of necessarily but you never know join arco who nobody wanted to take a gamble on until he finally won a couple of championships or a guy like yoenis vulgar who nobody paid attention to it all and then in his very brief motogp career. He showed some real promise. Maybe jake dickson has that same inherent ability. Once he gets on the bike. I dunno yamaha doesn't know but they're going to try and find out this weekend so i don't think it's that big of a deal that they're giving somebody who isn't a top rider emoto to a shop you know one race weekend just to kinda give them a test and this does give patrolling the opportunity then to try out multiple riders at least until the point that franken morbidelli comes back so i would expect that. We'll probably see dixon just this weekend. And then maybe darren bender at aragon. Which i think is very likely considering. The fact that dixon is apparently doing test next week on a yamaha superbike obviously not on a motor. Gp by he's not allowed to abide he'll ride basically thousand cc either street bike or maybe a wsb k. Prepared bike or somewhere in between and then from there though determine whether he's going to get a motor gp shop for a race. And i would fully expect to see them. Give him the opportunity in aragon if it goes beyond that and morbidelli can't come back. I'm not quite sure who they go to next. But they could either alternate dixon and bender. They might get caviar. Hey into the mix or they might have somebody else to come up in kind of. Take a shot at bike. If you've got that opportunity you've got the luxury of a bike to give for a couple of rounds until your guy comes back. Might as well make the most of it and as for cal on the factory bike. No plans have been announced past silverstone now one would assume that crutch slow continue the rest of the season but there are other possibilities here a big one that we're going to talk about in a moment but a minor one could we see valentino. Rossi returned to the factory team for anywhere from the rest of the.

"An incident in that corner. That was pretty much spurred on by the fact that the following rider the second rider involved couldn't see the first bike lying down on the track. No that doesn't explain the maverick in yellow situation which was just weird and the zarko morbidelli situation. Which again was just weird. There aren't too many things you could do. The prevent those when it comes to those turn three incidents there absolutely is something that could be done Twisted lizard already brought up the marquez. Spago run-ins but she had another question. Should marquess have been penalized now. Like i said before that rule is definitely sliding one and marks past success certainly buys him the benefit of at least some doubt jeb race is also right in saying and this is something that we talked about a little bit earlier to that being the first lap of the race that grants even further leeway because riders are jockeying at that point. They're close together. There's going to inevitably be some sort of contact and like you said twisted lizard bringing up the fact that al h didn't wreck that factors in favorably for mark as well then when you take all of that and you throw in the overhead shot. No i don't think he should have been penalised. But i do like the idea of the dashboard message because they can hand that out. Pretty liberally and pretty easily. It's kind of like the track limits warning where you know if your favorite writer were the biggest writer in the sport has to do a fanatic lap. You're kind of upset if he gets a black flag year little upset if he gets a penalty that drops down three seconds. You're kind of upset but the warning. You're like oh well. They told them. But it's not that big of a deal yet. So i think that's going to help at least a little bit when it comes to situations like that bar. Twelve fifty g s mentioned dani. Pedrosa in last weekend's race. I really didn't mention danny too much. Just a little bit at the very end of the post-race show. He did do a fantastic job. He finished ahead of a lot of guys. And i for one am kind of a little bit bombed that he isn't doing both austrian rounds. I think it would have been very interesting to see him. Have second go at the same track just a few days after his first race to adjust and kind of get used to being back in competition. I think he could have had another top ten if that had been the case but he did a great job. I'm soggy wombat. Posted a tweet are eight. You've got to go see this. I'm right if you haven't yet. He posted a tweet from maverick fan. Y'all as is dad on hell suggesting during the race suggesting that yamaha was somehow sabotaging then yalla's last sunday now outside of the fact that if they were gonna sabotage him with a clutch that was impossible to modulate. They were gonna do that for the first start because how were they. There was going to be another red flag. I mean even at the red bull ring so it would have been a pretty complex and complicated plan that would have required some sort of psychic ability to know. That's how things were going to work out and then have that clutch ready to put into the bike. After the first start which was actually really really good. Probably his best started the season and he said that himself. I mean that was coming. Straight from maverick. It was his best start of the season. So i don't know how having your best start of the season is a precursor to your team. Sabotaging you so. That's patently ridiculous. I don't understand. Why on earth. He would've ever tweeted. That atta was super embarrassing for everybody. Involved and brian wondered how many track limits violations. We're going to see this upcoming weekend. He set the over under twelve for all three classes. If you're talking about actually running phonology laps like you've done your five. You've gotta take the long lap. I'm gonna take the under twelve but if you just mean how. Many riders are going to get the track limits warning on their dashboard after three and fractions of. That's the case. I am hard on the over. In fact i went to double down on the over when it comes to that one way more than twelve. But if you're talking about actually running the long lap or being told to have to run the long thing maybe two or three over the weekend but a lot of riders are going to get the warnings. I'll let's move on to some other stuff. Campbell's era one in response to our discussion last week about the idea of a super bowl in qualifying kind of way to curtail all of the hijinks people cruising in sessions especially moto three. He posted a link to an article by mad oxley. Who was fantastic. By the way and that talk to a former rider your vanderberg who suggested that the motor three debacle. All comes down to the bike's gearing. He said the teams are gearing. Their bikes really tall in fifth and especially in sixth gear specifically doing it to play for the slipstream to give them extra room under the rev limiter to get into the slipstream. Go faster at the expense of some power in that cure but it only works in the slipstream because six gear is so tall. The guy in front put down enough power to keep up with the guys behind him who using his wake in that. Toss skier to max out their top speed. And that leads to huge packs of riders jockeying back and forth going into turns at the end the straights. Because they're all getting that slipstream off the guy behind them and he said it's pretty much a requirement that you have to get a tow to qualify well because the gearing on the bike won't allow you to go that fast with the horse power that the engine is making so his solution is simple limit. The gearing on the top end and a majority of the madness goes away now. Obviously this guy totally knows what he's talking about far more than i.

"To kathi sells a fraction of the motorcycles around the world that's zouqi does and so there are a much smaller motorcycle company yet when they were given the opportunity to have three satellite teams and eight bikes on the grid. They jumped at the idea. But when suzuki had the opportunity to get one satellite team they went in the other direction. So i guess said not right or wrong. That's just what each one's priority is. And so i think that has a lot to do with suzuki being hesitant right now. Going forward. I think once they have a real replacement for wd brivio somebody from the european motor gp circle then. I think that there's going to be a much better chance that they finally bite the bullet and get a satellite team. Going forward moving on job rage made the argument that even though the popular opinion is the franco. Morbidelli is a shoo-in at factory yamaha for next year he's personally not one hundred percent convinced and huge numbers to back it up. And you know. I'm going to talk about it if he's a numbers. Because you guys know how much i love numbers but pointed out that while it might be impressive. How morbidelli finished second in the championship last year. But that was an unusual season. And i do agree with that. It doesn't necessarily mean he's following in the footsteps of abiocor toronto and as evidence of that judge sites that in two thousand nineteen when franco and fabio were on the most similar equipment that they've written the coiro finished fifth in the championship. That was fabio's rookie season while morbidelli was tenth and both of them were in their first year at yamaha at that point as well then last year frankie had the big surge finished second on a two thousand nineteen spec bike when everybody else at yamaha was struggling on the much more problematic twenty twenty spec and then you fast forward to this year where and franco are seemingly going in different directions. I mean morbidelli has struggled over the last four races. Coming away with zero points all the way up to the break or to asan where. He sat out before the break. And because of that you know judd said i was reading all these articles and hearing people talk about how it was maybe a slight to franken morbidelli lead that yamaha was approaching writers like row fernandez or miguel olivera which we know they talked to both or even somebody like pedroia kosta but that's not something that should be taken as a slight to franken morbidelli because he's allowed some question marks to be raised he hasn't really presented himself as heir-apparent moving forward and on that last point i'll totally agree i mean yamaha has to talk to any writer that they think they have a shot at getting. That's going to move the needle for them and while franken morbidelli and his team may not be terribly happy about that. They certainly have to understand that. If i'm yamaha picking up the phone. And i'm making sure that miguel olivera raul fernandez are not interested in moving over and that pedro pedroia cost isn't may be willing to make john or miss jumped. Totally shouldn't be making by the way. I'm or maybe even talking to somebody like jonathan bray. I mean the guy does have six titles. We talked about the reasons earlier. Why it's probably not the best idea for him to make the switch right now. But if you're yamaha you probably want to hear from him as much as he wants to hear from you. Knowing that there's an opportunity out there. Yamaha definitely wants to cast his wife annette as possible especially since they seem to be struggling to find guys who are interested in riding the bike but with that being said is franken morbidelli mirage. I don't think so. Franko has had some bad races this year. But the season-opener in qatar remember that was an issue with his rear whole shot device. Basically the poll rear shock failed on him then. There was the drastic in clearly noticeable drop-off in performance after his injury. The week lme. That was compounded by tweaking. Further in his flag the flag practice swap at that particular race and it is clear how much that injury affected him heading towards the break and in the pair of races inbetween that the buckling qatar. And all of the stuff that happened after the injury he did. Look like the frankie. That's worthy of moving up to the factory squad now. The problem is just didn't see a whole lot of that. Franken morbidelli because of those circumstances before and after and i think that's part of the reason. Why jeb rages wondering which franko is the real one. The one that we saw last year or the one that we saw the before that and we've seen so far this year and you know maybe yamaha's wondering the same thing and like i said last week. The biggest danger for franken morbidelli isn't yamaha just deciding that he's worthless and casting aside the biggest danger. Here is the fact that he's not on track to distract yamaha from those other writers who are outpacing expectations. This year like raul fernandez if broncos on the bike and he's not injured in. He's finishing on the podium. I mean yeah. Yamaha's calling raoul. But they're calling him not to maybe go up to the factory team the for the petronas ride but frankie's not out there to make yamaha forget about other writers as a potential person to fill the factory seat so ultimately i think the franco is far faster than his results. This year have shown. I think he's still the top candidate based on a couple of factors his performance potential while healthy his composure. Both on and off the bike in the fact that he's done so well on older bikes. And we've seen what fabio has been able to do on the latest stuff. I think franco being so promising on the two thousand nineteen spec leaves definitely some upward potential there. If he is the writer that gets moved up to the factory squad alongside coiro. I'm john also wondered. If yamaha should settle for someone who's likely going to play second fiddle to bobbio and again he's talking about franken morbidelli here but i don't think that's necessarily going to be a decider because if in this is a big f- if fabio quarrel performs to plan and becomes this perennial challenger for the title and to marc marquez. While than pretty much any of yamaha's choices that they have at their disposal right now are gonna play second to him next year. And if fabio struggles. Well then frankie certainly has the potential to pick up the slack at least as good as a majority of the riders whose names have kicked around in relation to that factory seat in there having been very many names that have been thrown out there so in the end. Whoever it is that they pick. I think that the upside of the best writer yamaha can find is gonna way heavier on their decision than the potential downside of a guy. Like frankie if that makes sense to anybody but me moving on soggy. Wombat found something online. That i thought would have never been created. It's a punk. Song about valentino rossi. And it's not really bad either mean. The band definitely knows at least a little bit about motor. Gp or the guy who wrote it and it has all of the hallmarks of a classic ramones style punk song..

"Not have signed a contract until patrol us was figured out and girl off certainly wouldn't have signed a contract until everything on the motor. Gp level is figured out. And i don't know if it's a very conservative plan being placed by omaha or if maybe there's some influence here from dorna trying to make sure that both series have viable talent moving forward that they're both developing their own stars so that they can help promote world superbike and make it feel more like an anchor series as opposed to just a development series for riders. Going off to mow gp. I don't know but keep in mind that even though we're at scott leo glue and girl off both have world superbike contracts. Those contracts are with yamaha so things are not necessarily cast in concrete that they aren't coming to motor. Gp that could have been a preliminary thing guaranteeing to both riders. That yes you're gonna have a ride on one of our bikes. So don't worry about it and we could end up finding out in the next couple of weeks or so that that contract is going to be transferred over to mow p. so i wouldn't one hundred percent. Close the door on either of those riders but as of right now it looks very unlikely that garrett girl off is going to be making the move to a patrol spike next year. Which as a fan of us riders. I find that very disappointing. But at least yamaha is one hundred percent behind him in his world superbike endeavors trying to get to the top step of the podium then eventually trying compete for a championship but with both of those riders off the board and in my opinion the jonathan ray thing maybe maybe not but probably on the maybe not side. Who does that leave for. Petronas seat or seats in two thousand twenty two while the rest of the petronas roster right now consists of jake dixon and chevere. Hey and motoo. And the durham bender. And john mcphee emoto three of those riders already in the petronas system. I would say that. Dixon sim probably has the best shot at one of those two seats if both are indeed available especially since that we get a british rider back on the grid. And that's something that i'm sure is a priority for dorna as well and along those same lines. Same lows name has been kicked around as a potential writer to make return in this case to motor. Gp although if i'm being perfectly honest here if that's what they're down to they want have british rider. Dorner wants them to have a british rider. They're looking at jake dixon. They're looking at sam. Lowes if those are the guys that they're looking at. I might actually consider scott reading. I mean his size may once again be a bit of a concern when trying to replicate the success that he's having in world superbike right now but the guy's worked as ass off to get back to the world stage and you got a british rider got moto. gp experience you know that he's got the mindset to get back on the bike. Ken all of that overcome his size. Disadvantage in the premier class. I don't know but if you want to have a british rider on the grid. And you've got dixon lows and scott reading kind of out there in front of you. I i would be tempted to go with writing on that one. And hey i say that having been a critic of some of writings shenanigans in the past when he was a motor. Gp but i'd be looking for a guy if i were yamaha. That has some potential upside that really wants to get on the bike and work hard. And i think that reading would maybe fit that bill better than the other guys. I don't know. Tell me what you think on facebook. Or i'm it now. Yamaha had already reportedly made a play to buy outright fernandez's contract told them to go pound sand which is unsurprising. And it looks like as part of that that casey him then went back to fernandez and said listen. Just ignore this yamaha noise if you really want to be a motor. Gp that badly will make room for you attack. Three and i don't know if that rumor is one hundred percent like verified or not. But i would not be surprised at all if we get an announcement here in the next week or two that raul fernandez and remmy gardner are both going to be making the jump from moto to up to the tech. Three squad. I see no reason why they wouldn't want to do that at this point. I'm but with raul fernandez off the board girl off out of the picture along with topography. Scotla glue technically. All of the sudden yamaha looks like they're kind of in a similar position to apprecia- last season they potentially have two seats to give. I don't know that they have to riders that are really solid prospects that are willing to take those two seats right now and that is really really odd. I mean i said last year when a whole bunch of riders turned down that apparently rod. I said that at some point in the future. I don't know win at that point. I didn't know win but at some point in the future some of these guys were going to seriously regret not having taken advantage of that opportunity to get on the ground floor with. This isn't a groundfloor opportunity. I mean look at what fabio was doing. Yes maverick fan. Y'all is struggling. But we know that's a mind set thing valentine rossi struggling. We'll of course he is. He's forty two years old. He's not going to be standing up on the top step of the podium every single race or even a couple of times a year and then you've got franken morbidelli who was clearly affected by his injury all the way back at loma and has been ever since then and so gives the impression that the bike is terrible but at the same time you've got fabio quad harare who is absolutely tearing it up this season on the same exact bike that rossi and vanilla leser on somebody who said no or signed another contract when they could have made a big push to get on that petronas bike. That is the factory specs bike. Somebody's going to regret that decision as well even more. Then some of those guys are going to regret the decision to not get on the appropriate because yamaha is a bike that could go out and get results. Fabio quattro showed that to us last year and franco. Morbidelli showed us that. Even the older spec stuff could go out and get results last year and this year so it is a bit of a perplexing situation and. I don't exactly know what's going to happen next if it's going to be. You know defaulting to jake dixon or chubby veer. Hey or been there mcphee or somebody like that or if some bigger name is gonna come along and say yeah..

"All of the different parts all right so here. We go the rundown just about everything. We're gonna talk about on this episode of the show. We're going to start with some motor. Gp news and it is official cow. Crutch slow is coming back to the grid starting in austria for at least three races and he could be super valuable. The yamaha here but he won't be in. I'll tell you why. Then we'll talk about jonathan ray. The rumors have started up again that he could becoming to mow gp. I'll give you my opinion. We'll talk about what ray himself had to say. And then try to figure out the real situation is there but for garrett girl off it looks like motor. gp is not on the immediate horizon. He just signed a new world superbike contract. We'll talk about what that means. What yamaha's remaining rider options look like. Then we'll dive into your comments on danny pedrosa on franken morbidelli the army of dukakis. That will be on the grid next season and a whole lot more. Then we'll wrap up with some fixing video before moving onto part three of the moto week mid season review. We'll talk about some of the top riders emoto to and moto three. And if you're not a big fan of those series of you don't watch on a regular basis that's fine. There's still something in for you because some of these names in fact the majority of the names we're gonna talk about. You're going to get familiar with sooner or later in the premier class. You can find out about them now. And then you'll see him in the next year to all right so let's dive into the moto. Gp news and the big story of this off week on the verge of coming back to racing in australia. Cal crisslow is coming back to motor gp now permanently of course but with garrett karloff busy over in world superbike next weekend yamaha has officially made the call to cal to be their film rider in both australian rounds and then after that he will make a triumphant return to the british gp at silverstone which is going to be awesome for both him and the fans especially for the fans after that. Well it remains to be seen if cal's gonna continue on at arrogance since there's a gap there. Franken morbidelli is tentatively slated to return at misano. My guess is they're leaving. Aragon open at this point to give frankie kind of window in case it turns out he can come back early. Plus you never know. They may be leaving that arrogant weekend. Open for somebody else to get a shot on the bike with this constantly. Changing situation at yamaha and since world superbike is not an action arrogant weekend. Maybe we see gurkha off back. Maybe we see another world superbike rider coming over to take a test run on a petronas yamaha to see how they like it. Maybe you know if they want to leave their six and or seven world superbike championships behind to come to mow. Gp we'll talk about that in a minute. Though of my guess is that is why. They're leaving that arrogant weekend. Open to give them a little bit more flexibility when it comes to either franko coming back early or having somebody else step in or they could just in the end extent calcium by one more race and have him do four rounds instead of three but i can understand why the schedule is like it is because garrett girl off not available for the first austrian round. There's only a week between those two races. So if you're gonna put cal on the bike for the first one it just makes a lot of sense to have him also do the second race that way he can stay there. The bike settings don't change. They can continue to develop it from the first weekend to the second weekend. And then if you're yamaha you can't ask how to do both austrian rounds and then have him sit right after that for the british cheap that would just simply be mean to ask them to do to film races and then not allow him to do his home round when the bike is still open at that point so i think that's why they made the announcement initially and then we'll find out what's going to happen in aragon over these next three or four weeks. The new story start to develop now. The good news here for yamaha is now. They've got their official test rider. Getting some quality time in the saddle to evaluate the bike against the competition under race conditions. Very similar to what. Danny petrosa is doing next weekend with his wildcard. Start the bad news. Is that unlike the situation with pedrosa where he can you know. Take a shot at the latest bike and the latest equipment against the competition when it comes to cal while the motorcycle is going to be evaluating isn't gonna do yamaha much good since. He's filling in for franco morbidelli. That means he's got to ride frankie's bike. That of course is the a spec bike which is really just a heavily modified two thousand nineteen model so once again yamaha shoot themselves in the foot with the decision to be stingy with their current. Your bikes when it came to franken morbidelli. Because not only. Can frankie been getting results for them on the latest bike up until this point but more importantly with franco hurt. Since all the way back in france cal could have been helping them sort out that factory bike for the next three races. Which would hopefully then provide some benefit to fabio yaro any very detached. Maverick penola now with cal. Getting this three race stint if he does well. You know what's coming next. People are gonna start asking questions are going to say. Is this the test. Is this the precursor to a return to the grid. Full-time for cal. Next season with petronas. Well i don't think that's likely although i will say at this point we're getting so close to a legend series just on the regular bread with danny and cal coming back in the next race and valentino already out there. I say why stop. Now i mean let's callum petronas spike and on the other one. Well we could. Maybe i don't know. Put another thirty plus ryder. They just have to decide who. And they have a lot of riders to choose from me and andre the ceo. So he's very eligible bachelor right now. I'm sure if they went to her hayler enzo. He jumped at the chance to get back on the bike. Even though he's i'm sure very out of shape although maybe they could stray outside of motor. Gp because the rumors have officially begun once again for the fifteenth time about a multi. Time world superbike champion. That's right jonathan ray. Could he be headed to petronas omaha in twenty twenty to think about that. I could have cal and jonathan race side by side. It would be like the thirty plus club. All they have to do is find a way to keep valentine rossy. They put him on the maverick fan. Y'all is by there you go. I mean think about that for a minute. Their.

"Gonna sit out for a year no way. I mean after watching. What happened with. Andre david also so far in watching what happened with where he lorenzo. He's not gonna sit out at least not with the serious intent to come back embrace in two thousand twenty three. He won't be relevant at that point. I mean we've already seen that happened to multiple riders now so if it probably is his only option for next season. Then it's going to be one or two choices. He the racist for them. Where he pulls a casey stoner any bills before you even turns twenty seven and obviously the odds are strongly on him wanting to continue racing. Which means a really a bud. You never know. I mean if maverick is feeling particularly moody maybe he just watched a bunch of videos of lynn jarvis or something. Then i wouldn't totally rule out the ladder of him. Saying you know what you're gonna throw my hands in the air. I'm done i don't like the media anymore. I don't like the circus anymore. I don't like you know trying to battle with my manufacturer anymore. I'm just gonna take my money and go sit on a beach somewhere and again. I'm not saying. I think that's going to happen. I think he's going to raise for appropriate but there is that one little percent of a chance. Maybe he draws a line in the sand digs its heels in and says no for better for worse. Take him balling going home or go the world superbike or something like that. I'm alright so that does it for the motor. Gpo news now. Let's move on to some of your comments and obviously a few of you wanted to talk about maverick vanilla and we'll get back around to him in a minute. I i wanna start with chris over on facebook who looking at the second half of the season in light of the first part of our midseason review kind of ask the general question of. Hey who is your favorite right now in the championship. Fabio charro or johann zarco and. He wasn't just asking me. He was asking everybody which is good. Because i really don't have a preference per se. I just wanted to be an exciting battle down to the wire. I wanna see valencia and import amount. Make 'em whatever other race is at the end of the year Make a real difference in the championship. I would love to have it come down to the final lap but that being said i absolutely think it would be a bigger surprise a much. Bigger surprise is zarko. Wanted for sure. Satellite team a writer. That was one hundred percent on the outs barely hung onto asleep moto. Gp by pretty much sucking up his pride and going to eventually it will be quite the story for sure and not just quite the story for johann zarco but for do too because they throw him a lifeline. They did him a favor by giving him that seat. And right now he's paying the back of course who knows what's going to happen when we get down to the end of the season if the factory writers are involved how that's all going to work out but if it truly does come down zarco and fabio quarrel and zarko where the win the championship. Not only would he be vindicated but do cardi would look like geniuses to now of course the flip side of that coin is fabio winning in his first. Try on the factory team. That would be huge. That would immediately peg him as a potential challenger or successor to marc marquez. Atop the sport but it would certainly be less of a surprise overall for a factory yamaha rider to win the championship especially one with wins under his belt. Already both riders. They'll do for me carry longer term questions about consistency into the second half based on their recent history. Because no matter how awesome. They've looked so far. There is a chance that either one of those riders or both really could stumble in the second half so that it also means there's an opportunity for some other writers to enter the fray potentially as well and not just including both of the factory. Do kati riders. But i would there. Miguel olivera in there. And maybe even someone like joanne mir as well and of course we'll talk about a majority of those riders coming up here when we get to the second half of the show. I'm all right so now. Let's talk about some silly season stuff. Tim over on. Facebook said that a dutch website kind of added some fuel to the fire started by kevin schwantz last week or the week before that suggesting some sort of defacto swap between yamaha and suzuki where maverick fan. Y'all as woodhead home to the star team and then alex rin's would vacate the seat for vanilla is to come in by making the move over to yamaha taking over the petronas spike. They created by franken morbidelli after he gets promoted to the factory team now. The dutch site said that they kept an eye on maverick the entire him weekend and notice that there were multiple occasions where he wandered down the paddock and was seen having serious conversations with some of the people at zucchini and they thought not a whole lot of it at the time. But then in the wake of the kevin schwantz suggestion if auto. Hey maybe there's something to this. And i will admit that. Yeah it does. Spur on some interest here in certainly some speculation but i still see that kind of scenario as one. That's very unlikely the play out mostly because there are so many moving parts. I mean you've gotta get to manufacturers into xueqian yamaha. Three modo gp teams into factory level riders to all agree to the same set of terms. And what the span of. Maybe a month or month and a half. That's hard enough to begin with. And i think the biggest roadblock here is the fact that the relationship between suzuki and rennes is in the bab one. I mean we haven't even really seen any friction. at all. between suzuki and alex rennes. let alone. The kind that we've seen not just this season but over the past couple of seasons with maverick venezuela's in yamaha. So where's the motivation on that side to break a contract early you know. And that's not a one sided thing. Either i mean in that scenario. It's not like suzuki picks up the phone and says to alex runs. Hey you've been traded the maha. I mean it's not a football team. You know both sides would have to agree that this is the best thing to do for their respective futures. Just maverick in yamaha did. And because of that. I'm not exactly sure if i'm alex. Rinse why. I would willingly agreed to leave a factory team to go to a yamaha satellite bike. That has a grand total of one podium in eighteen combined races this year. So it's good for everybody except for alex rennes. But that's not good enough. It has to be good for everybody across the board to get all of those respective parties to agree. So well that's might be the perfect one for maverick vanilla. He might be all in on that. I if i'm being perfectly honest i think rizzoli over petronas would love to have alex rings on board you know they could easily get back to that place. Patrol was at in twenty twenty. But unfortunately i think this is yuki side would be the hold up making something like that happen. Because i don't think suzuki really wants to break contract with a rider that they really have no serious problem with and more importantly. I don't think that alex rene's is going to willingly. Demoted himself. Just to make maverick. Penola is happy now at the end the next year..

"Goes and when you think about that. And then you think about somebody who's had a career as long as say valentino rossi or the length of time in success that marc marquez and honda have had together it really makes you appreciate what those writers have been able to do because even for somebody as talented and i think we can all recognize the maverick vanilla is supremely talented even for a writer that talented. It's hard to stay on top both in terms of performance in terms of desireability. Come contract season so for guys like that to be so good for so long and so sought after by. Everybody certainly something to appreciate. Being one of those riders. Valentino rossi well. The manufacturers may have been happy with them over the years. Dorna certainly been happy with him over the years and the fans while the fans. Love valentino rossi. Ferrari well appear lean. Not so much. Actually they do love the doctor. It's just their love appears to be conditional law because ferrari announced that. They'll be racing in the brand new hyper car or ellum. H class allama. Which is the successor of ellen. P one as top class and typically the source of the overall race winner at loma the interesting thing though during this announcement the head of gt racing program. A guy named antonello coletta was asked. If maybe maybe valentine rossi could be considered as one of their drivers seeing as valley tested a ferrari f one car multiple times in came very very close to making the jump to f one with ferrari in the mid two thousands of a coletta put that potential rumor the bed immediately saying flat out to this reporter that rossi is tool yes too old to begin the training. He can compete in the top class at loma. It's a young man's game. And maybe valentino could play around with the other old guys in one of the gt classes in a ferrari at that legendary race. Now those comments sounded kinda harsh and the internet certainly picked up on that co posted a couple of places around the web. But if we're being honest here coletta out of line. I mean ferraris. Entry lama won't be ready until two thousand twenty three and this is something that the headlines don't say and at that point. Valentino is going to be forty four years old and there have there absolutely have been drivers of that age that have won the overall title at lamont. But we're talking about guys like tom. Kristensen and derek bell some of the best ever in the twenty four hours not somebody running their first ever race and it is much more common for the older drivers in the field to compete in the gt classes where they can do quite well so i don't think that was necessarily meant as a slight. I think that coletta was just being realistic. I don't think he was trying to offend so. Hopefully the vr forty six fans aren't outside of his house with torches and pitchforks like it's marquez. In two thousand fifteen or something All right let's move on from the motor. Gp news to some of your comments about said news and we will start with peter fifty-eight kerry who brought up something. I already alluded to earlier in the show. Maverick vinnie all as an suzuki. Because he brought up kevin schwantz rumor slash comments slash wishful thinking that the blockbuster of twenty twenty one season for maverick fan. Y'all is was only going to continue with schwantz. Imagining a scenario where bonilla's heads home to suzuki for next season. While alex rinse goes to yamaha taking the patrol a seat vacated by franken morbidelli squad so kind of a swap between suzuki and yamaha. Now i think it's very important to point out here because that headline got picked up in plastered all over everything to on the internet and i think we have to understand that when we take that comment in context that it was speculation on kevin schwantz part. Now he does have an inside line to suzuki. But that wasn't coming from suzuki through kevin schwantz to us. That was just something. Kevin said he thought would be a great plan. Maverick and y'all would obviously be on board with that too. But like i said earlier. Just don't think it's going to happen. I mean yes rinsed struggling but his relationship with zucchini is still positive. As far as we know and it would have to get a lot worse for both sides to say. Hey let's just go our separate ways and you go somewhere else and we're going to get maverick than y'all as and then the other thing to consider here when you think about a rumor like that is once again that is struggling im- while it might be interesting to think that's zouqi called up yamaha and said. Hey let's have a party where everybody just throws her keys in the ball and then whatever set you get out. That's who you go home with. It doesn't really work like that yamaha would have to be. Just as interested in alex rennes s. Zouqi potentially would be imagine y'all s and so not only is yamaha involved here but petronas petronas would have to be interested in a writer that like we just said has struggled with bad results in injuries this season. And they already have that going on right now with valentino rossi and frankie morbidelli. I don't think that they would be jumping over themselves. To try and combine those two guys worst characteristics in one writer next season so for that reason to. I'm not convinced that that kind of deal is going to happen. I think that rans really needs to do some work to get healthy and start getting results by the end of the year so that he can go out look for his own deal. Whether it's with hire somebody else after that. But i really don't see zookeeping the type of organization that would kick a guy when they're down and say okay you're sitting out and you haven't done much so screw you. We're going to go with maverick. Neal is i think that everybody involved there. Wait until twenty. Twenty three to make that kind of deal and since we're on the topic of guys just discussed in the news. Let's move onto sh news bart bar. Who posted a link to an article discussing. Whether the aforementioned valentino rossi will indeed retire this year or not this article from the site that i'm not gonna mention because of their propensity towards click baby titles which kind of drive me nuts. A little bit But they cited the controversy surrounding vr. Forty six as a reason that maybe valentino might be compelled to stay with his presence on the bike then helping entice a sponsor to enable the team to run next year and while does do baby titles on the regular in this one definitely bordered on that. In this case there actually is a topic of discussion. Here there is something inside that nutshell. And while i think that valentino rossi's presence alone could bail the team out if necessary. It just don't think it's going to be necessary in the end and for those who aren't familiar. There is a major lack of clarity surrounding the sponsorship situation. At vr forty six heading in the next year because vr forty six announced that the saudi oil company aramco was going to be the title sponsor. In fact they've already named the team aramco. Vr forty six racing although there is not a website to that effect quite yet. The problem here though is that one of the main officials at aramco who was at the dutch. Tt hanging out with the suzuki guys not with the beer. Forty six people who were do coty for that matter. That this aramco official said i don't know anything about a deal with valentino rossi and vr forty-six and we're not.

"So maybe miguel is just pointing it out or maybe who knows a little stick. A little poke maverick's direction. A buddy it is good one way or the other. I think to see yama at least attempting to get a rider like miguel. Who's upside is just huge right now and it would have been the spectacular get for yamaha and in my opinion one of the few writers maybe even the only rider that will be worth risking losing franken morbidelli in the end to go out and get but even with this twenty twenty two contract. You can be absolutely certain that. Miguel olivera is going to be a hotly pursued writer in next year silly season providing that he keeps riding the way he has been the past few rounds on that new. Ktm chassis never pretty good feeling that he will now the majority of you think it is a virtual lock. The franco morbidelli is going to be the rider that gets that factory yamaha seat next season. But jamie not convinced yet. Jamie's not quite sure that franco is going to get that factory seat in the end pointing to the fact that yamaha wasn't willing to change their plan for him. Despite the fact that he won three races and finished second overall last season still insisting instead that he soldier on with an older bike while the obviously waning valentine rossi on the other side of his garage got petronas new equipment instead now. A lot of that had to do with the fact that rossi is while valentino rossi. Obviously and be. The valentino is contracting directly to yamaha. Where morbidelli isn't but yeah it still has serious shades of the johann zarco situation and they were fine. Yamaha was allowing zarko to leave. So maybe the same will be true in the end with frankie although i would think that especially with olivera off the table now that there options have kind of put them in a box where you know that familiar writer in franken morbidelli may not seem like the most mysterious most exciting choice. But certainly it's the ryder that's available. That has the most potential. And honestly i think if yamaha's thinking about it that way that we rather go outside because we want a more exciting choice for that bike they're gonna lose out because morbidelli absolutely has the potential to be as good or almost as good as fabio quarrel. But i think that. Dj has the best solution by far for yamaha in twenty twenty two two words who are hey lorenzo. That's what i'm talking about. Bring it on man. I'm one hundred percent on board with that plan for no other reason but the drum. I don't even care if lorenzo rides that well. Although i'm curious to see how he would do after sitting out for so long but i'm more one in back for what he says before during and after around rather than what he's going to do in the bike so i'm absolutely on board with that i mean they've got fabio quattro road to go after a championship. Let's have some fun. Bring her lorenzo. Back convince valentino rossi. The stick around for another year on his own. Do khadi and let those to go head to head for the old guys championship. Hell why not get lovie in there to put him on the appropriate. Let all three of them go after it and then they can play for the seniors tour. They can win a trophy of a guy in a rocking chair. I'm sure asia and can make an awesome trophy of an old dude wearing your helmet and a rocking chair that we could give to the winner of that competition. All right so there was shockingly some non yamaha stuff. Believe it or not that you guys wanted to talk about. We'll start wish. News bart who linked to an article confirming that enables dini will be getting a twenty twenty one desma ditching next year. So he'll be getting a one year old bike with christine. As opposed to his current two year old offering out of it still remains to be seen how all of the do khadi offerings are going to be handed out. Obviously the factory guys are going to get twenty twenty two bikes. And i cannot imagine that. The pre mac. Riders won't also get the same equipment since they have it this year with vr forty-six signing policy abbadi confirmed that valentino. Rossi's team will be getting one quote full factory bike with support as well as twenty twenty one bike and that would make five current year. Do qadis on the grid would assume. Then that at that point the rossini team would get to twenty twenty one bikes won for best seaney as announced and the other fabio the san antonio since at the end of the year. They're gonna have plenty of 2021 bikes to hand out. So it's hard to imagine the degen san antonio who's contracted to rossini would end up with better equipment than best ya who's contracted directly to khadi and that's good. That means that no bikes on the grid should be older than one year old next season. That means better opportunities and better competition as a result epstein didn't suicide which is a statement of a username for sure Lit up with his fantasy leagues score after ass in one thousand one hundred and sixty points top two percent of all teams not in the league but in the entire game. Now we haven't talked about fantasy leagues for a long time. So we'll do that either on next week show or the episode after that one and by the way. If you've just started listening recently and you don't know this already we've got to fantasy leagues this year One is on sports deck. The other one is on the official motor. gp website..

"But took them to a championship last year. Could it be the perfect storm. I don't know. I'm not holding my breath but i wouldn't totally rule it out either. I think a lot of it has to do with how maverick and probably get along. Because that like we've seen over mavericks entire motogp career seems to be critical to performance on the track. Now while there was a decent amount of discussion about the maverick daniela's side of this equation. I think even more people were interested in the yamaha. Half and who's going to replace maverick next year and how that's all going to work out whether that rider goes directly to the factory team or if they land up us instead. Dj posted a pair of polls over them. Read it about. Who should get that maverick than y'all as seed and who should get the free petronas bike and the vast majority of respondents myself included said the franken morbidelli makes the most sense for yamaha at the factory level. Fifty seven out of the seventy people who responded said yep frankie's your guy doesn't matter if he's been off a little bit this year and of course he's injured as well now that of course then beg the question of who should take over frankie seat. That's a question that sh- news bart also asked and is separate poem. Read it and i found all of those results from both polls quite interesting because garrett girl off got the highest vote total if you combine both polls and then second to him was raul fernandez. Now don't get mad at me. Because i actually voted for fernandez in both of those polls but it was all based on current potential and there is no question that role fernandez is tearing it up motoo and has all the makings of a really good modo. gp rider. His upside is really really big. And if yamaha kengo after him they absolutely should try to do so now could they get him to sign a contract. I'm thinking no i mean. Ktm is going to keep a pretty tight grip on their youngster. Even if it means changing their plan for him last minute and moving fernandez up the tech three after all next season because of that. Because it's going to be so hard for yamaha to give fernandez. yes i think. Fernandez is the best option yamaha. But i think the garrett girl off is a far more realistic target for yamaha. And i think that's why so many people voted for him and i'm perfectly fine with that although in the interest of full disclosure. I'm a little bit biased. When i say that. Because obviously i want to see the american writer on the motor. Gp grade. And i'm not the only one Care cpr. skull had forty six alien night. Neil racing armchair jump rage all rooting for the us rider to get the spot on the grid and he might not be the only country that gets brand new representation on the motor gp grid next year. I'm racing armchair said something very similar to tattooed raven who thinks that there is a good possibility that valentino rossi retires that we could see both garrett girl off and jake dixon who's currently on a petronas bike emoto to both get the call to the petronas motor. Gp team seeing as both would fill preferred slot for dohrn. You'd get an american and you get a british rider back on the grid now. Thinking of it that way yes. There is risk in bringing both of those riders to moto g performance. Wise for sure but like tattooed raven was saying if girl off gets one of those seats and rides. Well then it may make yamaha take. Us riders more seriously and the same is true when it comes to jake. Dixon and i would argue that everybody in the paddock would take them more seriously now. British riders have a lot less stigma attached to them right now than a us. Ryder does. but that isn't important thing. I mean what tattooed raven was saying is a very good point that before you can get over that hump before you can get manufacturers to take routers from a particular country more seriously somebody has to be able to step up and take you back to last year when joe roberts was asked to get on the apprecia- and he said no in one of the main reasons that he gave for saying though was that he didn't want his passport to get him on the grid and i understand that attitude. I think it's admirable to not want to be handed something because of where you're from you on it because of how you're riding how you're performing but at the same time. If joe roberts was on that probably right now then maybe he would be proving to everybody else from the paddock. That you better take riders from the us more seriously and actually helping garrett girl off get the omaha gig so yes on one hand. Joe is being very you know noble by not wanting to you know. Skip ahead in line. But he was also giving up the opportunity to open the door for other writers. And that's what garrett girl off may be able to do and to a lesser extent. Jake dixon because like i said. I think we all know that. British riders are really really. Good world. Just needs to rediscover that there are some. Us riders out there. That are really good as well. Now as far as petronas's concerned. I could see that possibility happening with both girl off and dixon because they're both in house options. I mean girl off. Sorry working directly with yamaha world superbike dixon directly with petronas motoo. And i'm pretty sure that dorner would toss in some extra financial assistance for the team if they made room for both not. That patrol is struggling to find cash right now but there is another question here especially when it comes to garyk girl off and that's whether a world superbike transplant. Even when that's been there a short of a time as garrett has can successfully make the jump to mow g. p. and that is definitely something that will.

"Now there is always an exception to the rule. And to- proc could very well be that exception. If i were yamaha i would give it a try. I mean they could always make a deal where he comes to petronas for one year and if he doesn't like it then he can go straight back to world superbike. They'll save a seat forum. I mean because he's in house. There are many different ways they could structure the deal to make it work best for him and i think it's worth pursuing it selfishly. I want it to happen. Because i just think it's fun to say 'to proc road scott leo glue on a regular basis Another writer whose name was kicked around immediately after the rumors came out on. Saturday is another world superbike guy and one that was currently filling in for franken morbidelli last weekend and asset. That's the american garrett girl off and his name very likely will be on the list because after all he's been yamaha's goto over the past five or six months when it comes to a film writer he was gonna fill in for valentine rossy. Didn't need to in the end. But then he filled in for franken morbidelli. will that translate straight to a motor. Gp gig well. I'm not really sure. And i don't think that's going to happen with the factory team. I think possibly with petronas if frankie moves up mean obviously there's potential there or else yamaha wouldn't be giving him these opportunities. He's really been digging hard and trying to learn. In the limited time he's had on a motor. Gp bike and i think that door no would kick him resources to help make it happen to help facilitate in one way or another because it's very important to them to have a us rider on the grid. And so if there's somebody who has the talent level like eric girl loft does then. I think that they would help encourage and help move that long. I would love to see this. That's a bit of a home or comment on my part. But i will admit that there is a pretty long line of other candidates in front of garett girl off so i'm not gonna hold my breath at this point just going to be hopeful that it's somebody that yamaha seriously considers. There are some other writers though that may seem a little bit unconventional at first. Those riders guys like calcutt low current yamaha test rider. Or how about andrea david. Co so now over them read it. Diogo sewri posted a linked to an article mentioning v as a possibility for yamaha. And i'm gonna go ahead and lump cal. Crutch slow into this discussion as well and you know with a bevy of young talent out there. Some of which we've already mentioned. It would be very easy to dismiss both of those riders. But i wouldn't entirely mean as jug bridge replied to diogo. There are some reasons. The yamaha may choose to go the route of the old guy or bringing the old guy back because remember next year is silly season market is going to be way bigger than this one. A lot of riders coming off a two year contracts next year so a veteran like cal or dobie could fill the spot nicely for yamaha and a pinch and then they could turn it around and use it to their advantage and make that seat more about development. That's easy to do when you've got a guy like fabio on the other side of the garage going after wins and a championship Cal would put a british rider back on the grid just like garrett girl off that something that dorner would get behind because they want a british rider back on the greatest like they want a. Us rider on the grid and dovy would give them a very popular very marketable writer and they can have a bit of a reunion to close out his career. So yeah i by the rumors with dovy that at least there's some thought that's going on there because i honestly don't think either one of those guys are that far fetched but only only as a stopgap one year solution and even with a temporary move like that. Yeah you gain options in the next silly season cycle. But like miller's tasker was saying earlier you also vastly increase your chances that you drive away. Franken morbidelli because of it and you need to be prepared for that. You need to have a real game plan if you're going to do that now. Ultimately i think that racing armchair is right going with an older rider. Light cow like dovy doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Although i would add unless there is something specific that yamaha things they could gain from that one season whether it be in development sense. Or maybe you know. They think they can get joe amir or alex. Rinse or somebody like that. If they just wait one more season otherwise yeah move on get a young rider somebody in there to either push fabio and challenge him or it'd be ready to step up if there's a stumble on fabulous us part and on a bit of a side note since we're talking about andrea video so a little bit here tattoo driven asked if dole the ultimately made the right decision dragging his feet with appropriate therefore opening the door the maverick and maybe encouraging him to go explore some other options. I don't know. I don't know if he did himself a favour or not because probably it was clearly his best shot to return to the motor. Gp grid. They absolutely wanted him for next season before they knew that maverick was available. So i think that andrea reduces his chances significantly overall of getting back on the grid but if he had some conversations with yamaha that we are privy to. Well then maybe. He's being slide like a fox. Maybe he was being coy with apprecia- because he knew the maverick was about to quit and that probably will really want him and then maybe he would encourage appropriate against him so he can slide in behind. Maybe take the petronas seat or the factory. Yamaha seat for twenty twenty two. I know i'm stretched ended out there pretty far. But he got to explore every option in a weird situation like this. And then mr t. Brought up one more ryder. I had honestly not considered yet. What about me lavera. I know i mentioned him earlier. He's not yet signed off his current one year. Deal like brad bender already did. Could he be on the radar. And that's a genuinely intriguing idea..

"I'm too crazy here. Mark marquess and. I know i know the chances of mark getting on the podium. This weekend are very very small. But i've got to put him on my favorites list anyway because he has been absolutely ridiculous here for a solid decade in seven career mode. Gp races marquez. Won seven times and that's street goes back beyond motor. Gp extending into his two seasons and moto two and its final year of one twenty five so the last ten times in a row. He's lund up on the grade at saxon ring. He stood on top of the box and taking home the big trophy and his motor. Gp wins have even been nail biters. I mean he's won by seconds sometimes. Lots of seconds so kenny. Keep that streak alive. Well no i really don't think so at all but he's been so much better here than the rest of the world for so long that i'm not gonna completely right him out of a top five run or even a shot at the podium as unlikely that seems right now given the fact that while he was on the biking catalunia looked quite a bit more like the old mark. I don't know there could be something here so definitely watch the ninety-three this weekend. If he can stay on the bike till the end of the race which is really goal number one. He's got a relatively good shot at getting a really good finish. Certainly as best finish since returning to the grid right so. Those are my favorites for this weekend. But now i've got the watchlists. These are writers. I think. Have a solid shot at the top. Ten may even be able to poke their nose into the top five and if they are having a really good day it could even contemporary podium. And we're going to start that list. With valentino rossi. Who is the only rider other than marc marquez. To have a pretty good record here. This hasn't been one of the doctors best tracks lately. But you wouldn't know by the numbers because valentino is scored four wins and ten career podiums at saxon ring. Why the latest podium was just a few years back in two thousand eighteen. His last victory was two thousand nine. In fact he was the last rider not named marc marquez. Or dany petrosa to win the german. Gp that is just how dominant honda has been here for such a long time. But valentino is clearly not on top of his game right now in. The aha has some issues of its own in the hands of everyone other than tomorrow so all. The doctor does have the ability to perform well here. Just what performing well for this season consists of. That's the issue. The way things have been going a top ten would be a good result in valentino's going to have to get his weekend off to a very strong start right away to have hopes of atop five but on the other side of that coin sits miguel olivera. Who's kind of in the opposite. Situation as valentino. Rossi he doesn't have any history at least not motor. Gp we'll talk about motor to a second at saxon ring but he is absolutely blisteringly fast right now coming into this weekend. Not just off of his impressive cataluna win. But i'm back to back podiums and it's qualifying game has improved as well with this new chassis now. Ktm as a whole hasn't really establish themselves in the german gp but olivera does have a fourth and a second-place result. Here motoo in those are very recent so at least he knows his way around the track you throw in a better handling and better accelerating our sixteen and miguel once again has seriously per potential to challenge at a place that you wouldn't typically expect them to. Let's shift over to suzuki now. And talk about joe amir and if you listen to jamir things haven't really been going to well lately however the results don't seem as bad as he's making it out to be i mean after stumbling out of the blocks. Joanne comes into this race with the podium in italy then a fourth and catalunia although we actually crossed the line v so he is scoring points. And he's done okay in germany finishing seventh in two thousand nineteen. He also won here a moto three and finished second emoto to a couple years back now obviously. He needs to start getting podiums and getting victories to help himself out in the championship. And he's right on the edge of those types of performances now both his and suzuki's record at saxon ring. Keep him off the favorites list for me but he has serious top ten and maybe better potential. Come sunday afternoon. I'm next up. We're gonna talk about frankel. Morbidelli and frankie is quite a perplexing writer and not just for this race but this entire season we know he can be fast any has at times but unlike last year when he really got on a roll after getting jump started in the second half this year he's been derailed multiple times by weird things happening some of which weren't even his fault not to mention. He's got a bike. That definitely seems down on performance to the factory rights. And that's maybe forcing him to push a little too hard at times forcing those mistakes but the potential to be fast is definitely there. And he's got some results. Eerie finished ninth emoto gp in two thousand and nineteen. He had a win in his motive title season of two thousand seventeen. The big thing for me. And frankie here is the track. This track doesn't expose the performance deficit of his m one as much as a place like mugello or even catalunia dozen. Because of that. I think morbidelli has a decent shot to run well in this one especially if he qualifies on the front two rows which is a possibility and i wouldn't be surprised at all if this ends up one of those races. Where he at the end makes the better yamaha. Bikes look bad so while i know. I'm making him sound like a contender. His recent results those are what's making me a little bit cautious to bump him up and so he stays on the watchlist for this week..

marc marquez jamir valentino Joanne joe amir italy ninth seven times seventh Morbidelli germany fourth ninety-three dany petrosa frankie Ten Rossi two seasons frankel sixteen

"Gp that's not really all that surprising of note matteo baiocco. I hope i said his name. Right was the test rider for filling in for allie spargo. Who still recovering from that semi problematic arm pump surgery. He had a few weeks back now when we look at the time chart here the same. Disclaimer applies whenever we have a test. You can't always read too much into single app times especially in a one day test like this because everybody has a different agenda for what they wanted to accomplish. And not all of those goals necessarily include going out there and making time attack now as we look at the manufacturer's suzuki do coty and apprecia- while they were the most boring participants in this test focusing mainly on settings and consistency so once again for another one day test just like they did back in says do county doesn't bring anything wild and crazy but that's okay because ktm made up for everyone in the cool new stuff department by showing up with a lot of toys to play with the factory guys rolled out a preliminary version of what's being referred to as the twenty twenty two bike the factory riders. Were calling it a prototype for next year that bycatch a revised chassis or vice swing arm and tail section as well as a new exhaust. But we don't know anything about what was under the ferrings. Whether there was a new engine they were playing with were if they were testing all of the new stuff with their existing engine and nobody was really saying much more than what the parts were. Look forward to next season and then on top of that miguel. Olivera did add that there were a few different configurations of frame and swing arm that they tested as well tech three got in on the fun to with both danilo petrucci Getting their first shot at the new frame. That miguel and brad have run the past few rounds to massively increase success. Although danilo said that his improvement with a new chassis was only minor because according to danilo most of his current issues really have to deal with his size and weight transferring too much onto the rear tire and causing rear grip issues. And that makes sense. I mean presumably chassis designed in conjunction with the very smart flight danny petrosa and then tweaked for ideal implementation by the still pretty small olivera and bender would probably still need further tweaking for a rider. The size of danilo petrucci not gonna go into what that means for him going forward with ktm but that does make sense that the fray may not magically change things for him the way it seemed to for both brad bender miguel olivera but with all of that twenty twenty two bike tech three riders. Getting the first shot at the current new frame. None of that on the ktm front was the interesting part. The interesting part with the new era. Bits debuted by the austrian factory in a throwback to her. Hey lorenzo circa two thousand thirteen at phillip island or and early nineties honda. Cpr ktm literally showed up with some plastic or carbon fiber for that matter full of holes. A lot of holes all the way down the leading edge of the faring. Now on top of that. Let's see here. The new bodywork also incorporated a scoop. It's very back of the faring. About halfway down right around the rider's knee angling air a little bit upwards towards the tail and then a scoop at the back of the faring all the way at the bottom now. I'm not exactly like the do coty. They've got that scoop now at the lower front portion of the faring for ktm. It's at the back. And that seems to be directing air to a swing arm that features a rear fender that actually extends down the sides of the arm itself at this point. You probably want to look at a picture. I'm describing it to keep up with all of these things that they've added They also had a tail. Section that was notably curved downward or the current ktm tail section is kind of flat and most manufacturers angle. There's up into a point a little bit and can junction with that. Downward curve of the retail section the seat had a very hard crease. The kind of formed a contoured scoop in the body itself that seem to channel air along the tail maybe working in conjunction with that scoop that sitting midway up the fairing and they appeared to have a more pronounced chin spoiler to and some gigantic scoops on the front brake rotor. I think that's it. I think i got all of it in there. Although i'm sure there's something that i miss book go look at the picture of that new aero kit that they debuted was enough bodywork to make even gee-gee delina proud now whether all of that new stuff worked or not well again. Nobody was really saying and they certainly weren't doing serious enough. Time attacks with those new bits to tip us off on the time sheet whether they were making big strides or not but it was all pretty wild and they were definitely the star of the task when it came to rolling out new stuff By comparison yamaha did have some new parts but they didn't seem very exciting side by side with ktm There was a carbon swing arm on offer for maverick fan. Y'all as something that yamaha's gone back and forth with multiple times as the tried to get the right formula for that part other than that. There wasn't anything terribly. Exciting going on with the outside valentine rossi and prakash morbidelli trying out some slotted brake rotors and i don't think they were the only ones i think there were a couple of teams that try out the new slotted brembos. Brake rotors bought from advocate. Least obviously the settings changes that they worked on. Maybe the swing arm. I know made some sort of difference with him topping the time she'd although take that with a grain of salt and let's be honest single app times aren't really what yamaha struggling with right now anyways evidenced by charo race pace is the big issue here especially when it comes to maverick and valentino now. Honda was the most active manufacturer in the session. In terms of time spent on track mark marquez ran eighty seven laps in this test. Coursey didn't expend too much energy on sunday. So i guess he had some leftover but one way or the other. That's great news for him..

phillip island Honda eighty valentine rossi one day next year miguel olivera prakash morbidelli sunday danilo seven laps allie spargo valentino yamaha early nineties Coursey one way three riders suzuki one day test
