"Shooting at substations, it definitely is going to give you a wake-up call so you could say, hey, what in the world is going on here? So I think you're spot on with that. And I appreciate it. It's an eastern North Carolina that. Yeah, what's your take on that, Matt? What do you think? Well, the news I got, rich, was they purposely shot at the substation. Now one time a mere 40 miles west of the mooresville is way away from here to the west. State 541 143 miles wide. And when it was one right in a town called pantigo, where they purposely shot a transformer, I'm going to guess a year ago, and this was like people just shoot that transform, but not a gunfight. And that's idiotic. And just again, I thought so too. One of the things that doctor Myers brought up was that he said sometimes people will take out their frustration on rising prices or losing a job or something like that and start shooting stuff that they know will put the company in a bind to put the company in a bad spot. So I don't know if that's the case there. I mean, that would make more sense to me than what are you doing? I just feel like vandalizing and breaking a substation or a transformer to screw everybody who needs power. I think that's kind of ridiculous, and I don't think that's the case, but what do I know? Well, it's insane. I mean, criminals are supposed to be after money or something, not stuff up or nothing. Yeah, well, you know, in New York, a couple of summers ago, they were lighting police vans and police cars on fire. And I don't think they were trying to get any money out of that. They just wanted to make a point. Okay. Doctor Richard. All right, Matt, thank you, brother. Merry Christmas to you. Happy Hanukkah. All right, let us continue. Actually, let's continue right after this pause. I am rich Valdez, we'll be right back. The lack of a red wave during the midterms lead to a more emboldened Biden, more wasteful government spending higher taxes, how will you protect your hard earned savings from the reinvigorated left? "The Dale junior download. You're both you're both grimacing over here. Make sure you want to catch it. Tomorrow, 5 p.m.. You're still grimacing Jeff. Come on. We told him, hey, man. When you go to that, do that. Download is like true serum. All that stuff is still flying out. And the final Supercross race of the season Saturday on CNBC, you can relax now. Thank you. Yeah, but you want to hear those stories thinking of a guy on motorcycles, Ricky Stenhouse junior started on motorcycles way back in the day. Currently though, he is in a truck because I tornado just went through the farm. Everybody okay? Stenhouse at the Stenhouse house? It did not go through. Our farm, but near the farm. Less than a mile, less than a mile down the road, I guess I said a tornado touched down. So we don't have any power at the ranch right now. So we came to the other side of mooresville to grab some food and then I remembered dang, I gotta do this show, but luckily we weren't at home because I didn't have Wi-Fi anyway, so better service over here. That's awesome, man. Hey, congratulations on the terrific finish on Sunday, second for you guys at Dover. How needed was that finish for you guys at JTG Doherty racing? It was very much needed. Obviously, anytime you get a good run like that, have an opportunity to chase a leader down, especially at a place like gover, always build a lot of confidence in the team. You know, us as a team, we felt like, you know, there's been a handful of races where we've had good speed, just nothing to really show for it, and then you put three short tracks where we've really struggled on top of it, and I feel like, you know, that really makes the taste and look like a bad start. So, you know, we felt like we've had some speed. We finally were able to put it all together on a track that has some speed. Which makes us look forward to, you know, what's coming with Darlington and Kansas coming up next. So we still got some work to do, but you know the short tracks or something that we got to get a handle on. So Ricky, you guys go the Daytona 500, running really well, shot to win the thing. Get wrecked really late. And then from there, it just seemed like you had not been able to keep your momentum back. You go this weekend and run really well. What is the key to keeping everybody pumped up? Keeping yourself pumped up so that you can go and just fight through a tough start of the year. Well, I think that's kind of the culture that we have at JTG Doherty racing is just everybody's buckled down. We're a lot of good racers, a lot of hard racers and, you know, they see the speed that we've had at certain racetracks and I think that bumps them up. They know that I really liked Dover and everybody's tuned in when, you know, we're working on new setups and have meetings and, you know, it keeps everybody pumped up, but, you know, obviously when you come off a second place finish, that was huge momentum for everybody in the shop to show up Monday. You know, they watched a race Monday from the shop and I'm sure they got a little more work done. Monday afternoon after that finish. So we got a lot of good racers and, you know, it's tough to beat, you know, good momentum, but it's hard to put all that together. So we got Darlington this weekend that we're really focused on, feel like we can carry that momentum that we had. So Ricky, we got a couple of folks who have called in to chat with you. So we'll start with James in New York. James you're on with Ricky Stenhouse junior, go ahead. How are you doing there, Ricky? Good, how are you? Feeling pretty good. I wanted to ask, after your second place finish at Dover, what have you learned going into Darlington this weekend, which is a track similar to Dover? Yeah, I mean, the high speeds and how banking is definitely, you know, lend yourself to, I guess, the same philosophy of a setup. We're definitely going to have some differences in setup, but you know, for us, it's just, you know, trying to get something close and, you know, I got to some simulator work, I got to do tomorrow and hopefully we can get that dialed in. We felt like we had a really good simulator test before we went to Dover and, you know, you got to start close and practice. You only got 15 minutes before you got to go qualify and that's kind of the key to a successful weekend is unloading where you need to be. So sim session I have tomorrow is going to be important, but it'll be, it'll be, we got some good notes from Dover. Hey, Ricky, you said finishing second at Dover, you guys were finally able to put a race together. And that's exactly what chase Elliott said as well. Like for the first time all season, they executed the whole way, put a whole race together in one. So for you, for your team, what was the key? I know it was a tire management race. Was it a caution following the right time? Was it managing strategy? Well, what did you guys do to be able to put a full race together for the first time this year? I feel like for us, it all started, like I said, the simulator test we had a good test there. Showed up, practice. It drove similar to the simulator. And so we started making a few adjustments and, you know, felt like we were happy with the speed. And then when we dropped the green flag on Sunday, I was like, wow, this thing's really good. So from then on, it was, you know, let's pit with the leaders. Let's not do anything crazy. We had really good pit stops all day. We didn't speed on pit road. Our tire management was really good. My car was good on the long run. We didn't have any tire issues. Which, you know, let us just do normal stops and do everything normal. We had a good race car, which makes up for a lot of issues as well. So, you know, for us, it was just, you know, staying within our limits and not pushing the car too hard. And having those good pit stops and Darlington's a long range, a lot of pit stops, a lot of car management, how to keep it out, keep it off the wall. Don't worry your tires out. So it'd be similar. So Ricky just real quick, Jeff rodd point earlier. It's going to be a bit of a learning curve for drivers this weekend, less grip with this race car. So how will this car fare at Darlington you think? Talking to a few other guys that did the test. You know, the one and two is fast as ever. Sketchy with the new car, you're not sure exactly when it might step out on you. Which has been kind of the theme, I feel like for this race car, especially on the faster race tracks we go to. But then three and four is where I feel like is going to be the biggest difference that, you know, the fans are going to see in us drivers with the downshifting that we're capable of doing with this new car, you know, three and four, Jeff knows you were always looking for a little bit better drive up out of the corner. And so now we can downshift when you run that bottom lane in three and four. And so that'll be something totally different for us that we haven't done at Darlington and I don't know if it'll take the high line away or not. All right bud, we all enjoy dinner and glad the tornado didn't actually hit the ranch. That's good stuff, man. We'll see you in Darlington, okay? Thank y'all.

"Was one of those cars I think it was like, where did he come from? We haven't heard from him all day. Yeah, I mean, he started on the front row and that was a while. He told me he hoped the Toyota could get lined up and make dominate the race. Didn't we go? He told me. Well, he did. It didn't happen. What are you doing? You're adding just adding credibility to the show like crazy. Well, we've got time, man. We've got time to Catherine those things now. So it's nice. It's kind of a nice loose situation here. We can talk about it. But yeah, no, he said the key to the race was getting all those Toyotas lined up because there's not many of them compared to the other manufacturers, obviously. So they had to get all 6 of them or whatever lined up. And they weren't really able to get that done. All day long. They just weren't able to always find each other. So the fact that he finished 5th, I feel pretty good for him because one he didn't wreck the car. Two, he brought it back in the 5th and three, you know? He moves on to a track at Dover next week, where he's pretty good. A little bit, a little bit, yeah. Kyle Larson led 32 laps in this race, first top 5 on a speedway. That's a weird stat. Yeah, it's really weird because if you look back to last year's race, he was wiped out early in this thing. And the day was pretty much toast. This time around, he's the only car that spent every lap inside the top 15. All 188 laps, how Larson at number 15 car was inside the top 15 of the race. Never once was he shuffled out of line where he had to fall back outside the top 20. So incredible job by him and I know a lot of people criticize him for that move on the last lap trying to get out there and make something happen and resulted in the last lap crash with Bubba Wallace Kurt Busch and them, but it's hard, man. At the end of the day, he's kind of racist. You have to do something. Especially when you see you're not winning the race. If you're going into the final stretch here and you're like, well man, I'm second, I gotta do something. He pulled out from Eric Jones, tried to make something happen. At the end of the day, he didn't and people crash, but hey, he gave it a shot, he tried. And tried to make something happen. But a fourth place finished. I mean, like you said, first top 5 on a super speed waveform. I'm sure in the closing laps, that kind of factors into it too. He's never been in that position before. What do I do? I'm sure he was. Yeah, I'm sure he was like, well, okay. So a lot of that goes into it too, but I feel like the fourth place finish has to feel like a win for him as well. A lot of guys feeling like they had wins here that didn't win the race, but I think he had to feel pretty good about it too. Mister, I don't know, ask Joe Gibbs, Kyle Busch at number three, who was like 8th going into the final lap there. Yeah, and he's lucky to even be there because he had the contact with Christopher Bell coming off pit road. That was that. That was very strange. So there were three Y with Noah Gregson leaving pit road on the final pit stop of the day. Yeah. Makes contact with his teammates. Teammate goes around and Kyle Busch continues on, but I thought for sure he would have lost some momentum and just had some issues based on that. Maybe even some damage, but he got lucky and was able to contend for the potential win here. I don't know where he came from in those closing laps, but he was right where he needed to be and got a solid podium finish there. Now Austin Dillon at number two, yet again here in the top ten top 5, but he does well at these kinds of races. In fact, he's won these kinds of races. Yeah, he has. And for the three car, this was their second, second place finish of the weekend because Jeffrey Earnhardt finished second in the Xfinity race, but I don't know what it was about this race. Yeah, I didn't have him pegged, even though he's won Daytona 500s and stuff before. I've just, I don't ever have him pegged for that, but they've been very good this season. Had the third place finish in Martinsville second place at Auto Club speedway. Now you have a second place finish at Talladega. That's three totally different racetracks. This three team is coming to life pretty good and on a day where his teammate Tyler Reddick had a really bad day with engine issues, the three cars still kind of carried the flag and showed the RCR is still very, very strong. So maybe I need to start kind of expecting more out of Austin Dillon each week because for whatever reason I don't go into a race weekend thinking Austin Dillon's one of the guys I should be picking commonly I've gone with Tyler Redick is a guy, but maybe I need to really start looking at Austin Dillon. Let's head to victory lane now where watermelons were flying everywhere. Drivers popping up out of the roof and all kinds of stuff. Ross Chastain, of course, has got to be the only guy that fits that Bill. Second wind of the season and his career after deleting just one lap of the race, the final app. Watermelon was smashed. Yes, he popped out of the roof hatch. Let's hear from Ross. Does not seem real at all. I keep waiting to wake up from this dream. And it realized it's all not what I thought of what I think I'm living. But I've got great groups of people from track house on the competition and the business side to the business side was my family. People in Charlotte and around mooresville that keep reminding me and keep showing me that this is real and we talked about it. I talked about it earlier. You were sitting right here and this spot, like I'm right where I want to be and I have the people around me. So they keep me remembering and they keep reminding me. And they keep pushing me to make this the best we can make it. We're not resting on any of this stuff. And by Justin said, I might not be quite as sharp in the morning to get to work on Dover, but I'll get to work on it at some point tomorrow. Carrie, what? This car was the exact car he wanted coda. Wow. Two different kinds of race tracks and stuff. That's right. They took this car to a road course, you know, three, four, maybe 5 weeks ago. Won the race there. Take it back to the shop, strip it down, get it back together, and it's winning Talladega just like a month later. Wow, that tells you something about the next gens. It does. This thing is so versatile. You can literally take this thing anywhere, it appears. I don't know if that will ring true for the entire duration of this car being a thing. But the early portion of things, if you told people going into it, you could go from coda, winning that race and take that race winning car at coda. To win the race at Talladega, I think a lot of people were like, yeah, okay. How about track house racing though? It even had Dale junior kind of wondering, um, maybe I should go cup. Dude, you know? They have made some waves really fast. Now obviously they've got pit bull. They've got a lot of marketing partners now they're jumping on, left and right. But at the end of the day, you gotta win. Exactly. And if you looked at what they did last year in their first year, they came out swinging, and it was like, holy crap, this team, you know, a lot of people thought it was gonna be a joke, but when they came in, they had speed immediately with Daniel Suarez, and I was like, okay, well they're on the verge here. Now they've got Chastain. They bought the Chip Ganassi racing operation, got both charters and all that stuff. And they have really, you thought they came out swinging last year, they have come out guns blazing this season and my goodness. Ross Chastain has gained just incredible amounts of confidence. I don't know what it is. I don't know what he's been told by Justin marks, but he looks totally different this season. I like Justin marks. It was either a tweet or Facebook from victory lane on Sunday to the carpool lane with the kids on Monday. It was pretty funny. Yeah, no, and that's the cool thing that I like about track house as well. So even though they've got like Pitbull, the worldwide superstar and stuff, it just feels like a fun family atmosphere still. With just the marks and everybody that's involved there. Heck, I'll be out at the local store down here. Harris teeter will be getting groceries or something. You'll see track house employees walking through with their track house shirts on and it just feels like a nice family thing. I just feel like they are all normal people..

"For me, it was like okay, I can go back to home to stay with my family all the time and take for the decision was taking. But they're helping around was not disturbing me at all. You know, it was more like, okay, always I saw it as a new opportunity to do something different again. And just how different was it at Red Bull compared to Jaguar? Because it sounds from the outside at least that you've got one that was very corporate and didn't work. And then you had one that came in completely changing the landscape and disrupting Formula One with their approach of having a lot of fun, like the image that the team wanted to have and was at the same behind the scenes working or is that not possible when you're trying to be successful on track? No, it can not be like you see it from a site. You still need to work hard. It wasn't all fun. You know, it wasn't all fun. It was hard work, as well. But I was a way to yes, and when I came back, actually, a structure, not a lot of change, how we left at Nicki and myself. It was very weird. You know, it was like they have two years come by. There was not a lot of progress made, you know? I was quite surprised about that one. How little was actually changed for people in place. And the Copa coach obviously was another one and Red Bull was mister Matthews was adamant to invest and to go forward, not just sit back and see look at the old days. And did that help though in you being able to kind of continue, like you said, you were Nicki needed maybe one or two more years. Did it feel like you were continuing from almost where you'd left off when you left the team? It's very difficult to say because it's also very strange when you get back to a company after the TF been away two years with completely different ownership. It was like something I never experienced you know because you don't go into a new place, but it's not completely new. It's somehow just different, but some of the things that this was yesterday and now there's a completely different future. So I would say almost a little bit confusing at times. So we're looking in this podcast for a big break moment and you obviously got a lot of experience in that Red Bull time. I mean, big budget, a lot of people to work with. Was it the biggest company you'd have team that you'd have looked after at that point? Absolutely absolutely. You know, because at the time, it was already quite a big team as geographic, not one of the biggest one in Formula One, but then the Red Bull came in and it was going very quick. But then the flip side was you were then I'd say center. I don't know if it was a choice, but you went to America to set up the NASCAR Cup Series team, which I imagine was a a lot smaller, even if it's still big money. But be very different. How did that come about? Because that's like you say, you're happy in the UK. You hopped around things in Europe and then suddenly you're off to America. I would say a dreadful because there was so much change going on, I think there was for me, it was like, I don't know if this is my future or not, and then my relationship with mister Matheson was pretty good, you know. And then at some stage, he asked me if I got an interest to move to the states to look after the NASCAR team, which we will open. And I was like, I don't know what she said. I was pretty happy, but then when I was younger, I would say everybody had not a dream. You know, I would like to go to the U.S. and obviously it's very difficult for you paying to go to the S, especially with driving a good job there, you know? So you would need to start from the bottom again. So I was like, well, yes, with interest me and I didn't know anything about NASCAR or not anything. I knew a few who they learned, of course. A few names, but I didn't know anything technically or how the CFS works. So I was like, I don't know if NASCAR is still writing and died, no idea where Charlotte was to be honest when we first spoke about. So it was one of the things so I said the challenge of the U.S. with the nice, you know, so I went to speak with my wife and we spoke about, and we said, hey, let's do it. We are still young enough to do this, you know? If you like it, we stay there a few years and if not, we come back, there's always something to do. And off we went. From an F one perspective, did it feel like you were leaving the sport though at that point to go to America? Because the links weren't so tight, were they at that stage between the U.S. and F one? I never felt that I'm leaving anything. I just changed. You know, because even if you change job, I didn't think this is gone now. I still had my friends in F one. I went to a few races after even after I moved to the friendship with Nikki was pretty pretty big. You know, so we always wearing contact. So I never, even in Raleigh, I still have friends who are you know I'm still involved, obviously I don't know a lot of people in DTM anymore, but that has changed so much as a race series that there's not many of the old people around anymore anyway. So no, I didn't feel like I'm leaving something. I was up to, hey, what are you going to do next? Let's enjoy this experience. Well, I'd suggest as well from the outside looking at the way your career went that that was a big turning point for you because you still live in America. You've obviously run an American team as we call it in Formula One. And you had two good years with the Red Bull team. And then when you left, you stayed in mooresville in North Carolina. So what was so attractive about staying in that region? So I guess at that point, you may be at that stage didn't have anything else keeping you there at that point. You could have gone anywhere again. Yeah. It was with the NASCAR team about two years. And then when that was all I was like, what do they do next? I had job offers to come back to Europe quite nice ones. And I was like, I don't really, I'm not finished with America yet. You know, there was only there two years. And I liked the country. I liked my personal life. My wife liked it, you know, so I said, well, that is good I do. I had another dream, you know, always when I was younger. To have my own business and I never had the time because I always had good jobs and then you don't want to stop working a good job to do something take a risk to doing your own business..

"With riggins on the tj. Show the top trending topic this morning alec baldwin. This story is terrible crazy. He's on the set of a movie. He's producing called rust yesterday in new mexico and he the reports are saying that he had a prop gun which in doing some research. There really isn't such a thing that fires called a prop gun. That's like something you just have on your hip. That's not a real gun. These are real guns. They didn't have blanks in them But he discharged the gun. During a rehearsal for a scene and killed a woman named elena hutchins who was working on set also injured the director. He was they were both airlifted to the hospital. He is survived. He has survived She unfortunately passed away. It's just a crazy story but the blanks in the gun. Usually that injury comes from close point blank firing of a of a blank because it still has gunpowder and it causes an explosion and all of that there was an actor when we were kids That was on a show called cagney and lacey and then he had just gotten a big movie roles his first movie role and he was onset. One day playing around. They handed him a gun. And he said oh it's got blanks. And he put it up to his head and pulled the trigger and it killed him so blanks can't kill people. I've seen one story said the gun actually had live rounds in it. The other other has have said that it's blanks but there are pictures of alec baldwin on the set after talking to the police. And i mean i don't even know he looked so distraught. I'm gonna obviously you can. You can only imagine you accidentally killed someone through through no fault of his own. Yeah you know there's a special effects person enhance him a gun that he's it a thousand times on the sets of movies fired these types of guns and it just just some kind of a weird freak accident thing. Probably get the director cinematographer. Yeah that's what. I factor would be more understated fired in malfunction or whatever and killed another actor when he was trying to shoot at in the in the film. I know they're gonna know more today. But i wondered if there was just one of those scenes where he was. They were maybe shooting just him in a close up and he was just firing off about and do he fired twice. When it went off it happened to hit. The two of them and people are also talking about brandon. Lee something similar very same thing. Grow so very unfortunate. Yeah that's kind of happened late yesterday into this morning and police have determined that those remains found in florida. Are those of brian laundry. So he is dead. They found bones and decomposing skull. I think is they say. It's better animal activity as well. So that may have impacted what happened to the body and the remains. There is a backpack. they haven't said anything. Everybody's hopeful that there's some type of note in the backpack that tells more gives details about why everything happened with gabby petito but as of now just appears as if his he found his remains in case closed now. They've got some questions for the parents. Some questions for the parents because the dad is the one that led them to the area where they found those remains and they wanna know. So you you pretty much finished the big stuff yesterday. Rob you got the last of the individually heavy things. I mean sure you got your video game. Wouldn't even say that invoke nerd card one hd line slot in no dobie. Your tv has offers more obviously. Yeah tom no. Your parents are ashamed that you never made anything of yourself. Yeah one hd a muslim so can you imagine. Here's the thing that jumped out at me. Though about rob situation tonight so rob is. You're staying at the house tonight right. Yeah for the first time and his girlfriend. There's going to be out of town for nephew's birthday so this is the first time since you live with your parents that you will have spent a night alone. Yeah because my cousin never leaves his house so he's always there at least at night and that was his roommate for up until now right the room itself rob. You can't save. Everybody could shoot a separate room. But reagan's at elect our stereotype other with their mouths. Agape i read that this morning has was like wow but the thing is the part that i got out of that. Spooky season two and you're not. Your house is haunted or not. I don't know yet. I'll find out but since you've lived with your parents. This is the first time you will spend the night completely in the house alone right and with my parents. It was probably a good ten years before that because My dad can't really travel anymore so so so you probably have not spent a night alone in a house. All by yourself in over sixteen years. I would say that's probably very accurate. Yeah oh my god rob. That is crazy and it could be longer than that but estimate about sixteen years problem. Are you nervous or anything. I don't know if it's nervous more more more than just like i don't know what to be. Yeah why oh. My god rob even deal with him right. How can i even know what to be. When i have been that ever since the new situation for me. Have you developed a plan for the evening. I'm not watching halloween. I i was going to you but my god. You're such a wimp. Dally rob are you serious. What about your noises afterwards noises. "Better. Offense is not going to catch the ball. I mean that that similarity is so accurate in keeps those players as they should be almost drafted a lot closer to mo williams was what almost a fringe like flex player. Amin aged. dylan's should step in and be pretty close to that. Yeah and this is a situation where you look at it. And you're like okay. Owns a backup. Damon harris should be the starter only two round separate them but damon harris. We've already talked about. He has very little upside. And there's a lot that's unclear in terms of how that you know that did the distribution of touch is gonna is gonna play itself out in new england whereas has a very clear defined role. He's the backup. Aaron jones but with with with matlock floor. We saw this last year. Which mall williams. Aaron jones is he kind of does like siri series by series where jones will play a series. And then jamal williams will get a full series I think a deal is going to be much. He really only had one big game. It was the game against tennessee And i believe that was also game where jamal williams in place. The the first game that he really played in where jamal williams wasn't active. Was you had over. One hundred rushing yards and touchdown so he hasn't really proven anything. But i think that green bay is gonna get a lot more playing time having. He's very good chance he gets a lot of the goal line carries. I think he takes a much bigger step up and then if anything happens to air jones. He's the guy and this is not a very good depth chart behind aj. Dylan there's no like last year. Yeah jamal williams. And then you had aj dylan. It was much. There was a lot more there. There's there's dexter williams there is I'm just pulling up idex. Rooms patter taylor thailand hill. So there's nothing else there besides asia dylan. I think i think he probably has a better year. In terms of total points than damon harris even within being the backup and he just has his a lot more upside. So i i like this one a lot and they're both running backs they don't catch the ball. They're big in between the tackle bruisers. Go line kerry backs. I think don't has a better season. Yeah i don't think it's a stretch of say that and the fact that david the quote unquote starter. I think at the end of the day. They're both gonna end up with similar. Carry numbers is kind of what i'm getting at in this comparison. And we've seen it hasn't done anything but we've seen. What green bay does we've seen them. Out of florida's we have two years of data. That tells us exactly what's going to happen. Just like we have twenty years of data in new england yet. We still think that somehow someone's gonna emerge as the starter. No we know exactly how green bay is gonna utilize. Aj because this is. This is what they do this. They've shown us their system. So it's not a surprise to anyone so if you're looking for someone that can be a fringe. Flax damian harris like on a more week to week basis could potentially be more consistent and have more double digit points than than. Aj dylan i mean. I think that's a very like not a strong. I think that should be pretty obvious. We're eighty six seven point range where maybe the harris's at eleven or twelve or something like that mccain and that seems high easy touchdown me. He's not going to get one hundred rushing yards. Or he's going to touchdown very true. I mean just think about that guy. He's got get hundred yards not catching in and cam. Newton russia's an all touchdowns. Where is he getting points. So yeah so i. I like that one a lot. That's a great one are let me give you one that i really like And this is one of the last ones. I came up with And this is a little thing a little bit outside the box I got dj. More verse dj. Burs jd mckee mckissick. I don't even think about that. You got dj verse jd right there. Boom done saint play different round dj. More going know. Five point eight Fifth-round jana mckissick. Going the end of the ninth round. And i know they play different positions. We've talked about this on a on a couple of times though win on a couple of occasions with some of these running backs that are just there one one-dimensional j. mckissick. They just catch passes. Kinda like the jayme. Swipe look at them as just they're rushing yards receiving yards and just look at the numbers if there are a wide receiver so to give it to give you an example legitimate kids. Going three hundred sixty five yards rushing five hundred eighty nine yards receiving both sound on sexy when you add them up though you look at it and you compare them to moore's numbers you have. Jd mckissick with total yards rushing plus receiving because he points both nine hundred. Fifty four receiving yards rushing ours. Combined total yards eighty catches and three touchdowns. So if you were to tell me I've got a player that that will catch eighty balls for nine hundred fifty four yards and three touchdowns in going at the end of the ninth round. I'd be like signed me up. Oh by the way eligible disarm back at route running back. i love this one And when you you will mooresville. Dj more sixty six catches so less fourteen less catches eleven hundred ninety three yards so so a little over two hundred more more receiving yards four touchdowns en he's going four rounds ahead mckissick and he's a wide receiver mckissick. Is somebody complain. Your flex he somebody you can play in running back somebody that you have antonio gibson. He's a great handcuff as well. Lots of like they're no. I love this one We definitely like the types of running backs. Where oftentimes these pass catching back. If they're true to their rolled can actually be pretty consistent weekend and week out This makes me definitely like anthony gibson. A lot less in the second round. I raised him from my memory. I mean if mckissick is being this through the air i mean. I really don't want any peace of that. But this is great digit. Moore's numbers by the way specifically his yardage is coming back down. I mean he's got. Sam darnold throwing to him his touchdowns at four cut that in half and then i mean four. Four five cents isn't a lot keeping say but he's got i know i'm just saying he's got sam darnold so cut in half and half again that's what he's going to have one do that in your head so i like this. This is perfect and then he's running back eligible. I think. I need to take a closer look at jamie kiss but this is a perfect these having these players like. I swear like when you're in the middle of a draft in need to be nimble needs to be on your feet and you stuck in scenarios where you're like oh my god i do not wanna drag sanders at four zero one. What unless swap them out or you know where you can go. You can bomb the bag. You'll get jamie kiss. It can feel about it..

I mean if you look at my. I don't gotta hall of fame career. But i got to work with some really really good people. And that's that's sorta why like this because in my career there's parts of stood out in one of the big parts. Was these guys that i worked with a row. I was with a sixteen car while he dollar back. And they were with mark and And listen to these guys in and watching. These guys. And i learned a whole lot. Because i felt like that was like my real very first race team and drove. I've lived in gerald ford. I drove one hundred miles a day to get there but then that day rash. Yep they'll blue chuck. I still got it. Four hundred seventy five thousand miles but that that set my career in motion them them years at rush with these two guys here and there was a couple of other ones but especially these two guys because we hung out a lot in and we had a good time and then further along in the career. I got with buddy here and buddies sort of took me to the next level not really add much about working on cars but about the people in the business and and all that where i could take my step to become crew chief and and go on so with these guys drive here. Definitely instrumental. Michael did you did you to actually work together. Jeff burton jeff burton. Buddy made my life miserable. Because i had the brother walk over and say here's what jeff's got his car but i can't drive what he drives. I think the best part about it was. We made liberty miserable and we set out to do that. And you know i'll mark was mark mark. You ain't helping them. You don't want them to have nothing. And then we started woman there but in turn them upside down all the way to the point where they moved to mooresville in buddy buddy was right in the middle all that and and he had that was. That was a good deal. Then but yeah buddy you nobody you know. He's i say i'd never. Buddy was a good mechanic throughout the years. I never seen turner inch any income. Scott scottdale frankie started. We'd be undergrad. And our guts on this guard buddy. Every week he companies boys. I usually don't do this. But i know you guys got it so i'm gonna get a motorhome and just go to dover on leave before the car is done but i know y'all got it in georgia that buddy. Don't talk like that was a compliment. I feel like it was because the thing was that I've been there and done that. I saw in rambo. And i saw in the people that are hired are got to work at at the shop and all their abilities and one not use those instead of instead of me having to go out there and term riches and stuff and Listen uh spent many many long hours laying on the floor on the cold concrete floor bump searing cars and he did all the things he did it over my shoulder. Sure my back hours watching watching ever ham deal and and the guy was out there in the sun and he had a bump steer gays going on. Now there's a. I think i can tell you one story that would would solidify. How buddy was everybody knows back. Then we had practice in and then we would do our stuff and then we had happy hour at the end to happy hour. Everybody go get a tire temperature in everybody. Walk up and push their cars back down. Well they'll buddies on top of the truck in everybody's walking through the cars in buddies like okay. I one two cars one hundred dollars now. You got a picture this all these guys. We don't work all day. We're slipping on our own sweat in and in here you go all these guys working here comes a ninety nine guys run fast as right up to car w in it. And that's that's the way buddy was he had. He knew how to work the people he knew how to get the most out of everybody. And that's what i learned and i got I got asked a lot about how do you. How do you get those guys. How do you get them. So revved up and and do what they do. Rambo and scott meal racing and s- cranky on all those guys do it all bills point. Let's say about rash. Won't i mean we get lots of thirty five people you meet. Somebody asked you how you were going to get. Rambo wound up or wound down. There's a difference there well. "Darlington has so much lower and legacy around it. The track too tough. Detain the lady in black as a driver. Is it exciting? Is it a little nerve racking? Is it you've got to be on point. You know, every turn every lap. What is it about Darlington that makes this such kind of a legacy track? Yeah, all of that. You know, I think there's just there's nothing about Darlington that that you don't get excited about. Just because of the fact that it's just it's so it's still relevant in today's world, you know with what we do and how we raised him and you know you start to think about the things that you're doing, but it's also The same shape the same configuration that they raised 50 years ago. And you know more than that, actually. So you know, I think that there's there's just not Any other racetrack that we go to that has that same type of history and has meant so much to the sport. That's that's really less. You know, outside of Daytona, but they told me started on the beach of darlings and they started to Darlington and, you know, ran have run that race tracking in that same configuration for for such a long time, and it's just It's a really, really hard place to race because you have to be on it. Every laugh and like you say, you make one mistake, and it usually results in No scraping the right side of the car against the wall and makes for for a long evening. So you know it Z exciting to me. I've been I've been through two races a year at Darlington. Last year, we had three I've been, you know, just with one race. I've been with Mother's Day weekend and then in the fall, you know, so Darlington's been all over the board as far as being a part of our sport for for a number of years, and it's just It's really cool to be able to take today's cars and race on the racetrack that they, you know, they've had pretty much every generation of race car on the racetrack in NASCAR's history, and it's really cool to pair it with the retro run down because you have the history of the track and in the history of the cars with it, and it's Gonna be really fun Weekend at Darlington. Kevin Harvick joins us this morning on the show. When you talk about how the sport has changed so much. One of the dynamic changes in NASCAR is that drivers and fan bases in tracks from nontraditional areas previously Now really popular, really successful and for yourself, having grown up on the West Coast when you jumped into the league, jumped into the circuit and started racing. I mean, California was not the place where elite drivers came from, but it's grown over the last 20 years. What have you seen personally from your old stomping grounds and where you grew up? With the expansion of NASCAR, and now you know where it kind of touches all parts of our country. Yeah. So, you know, I think you know our sport has, you know kind of that stereotype, but it's a South East sport and I was fortunate to grow up and you know, in Bakersfield, California That was a huge Racing town. If you took Bakersfield Californian New Plug it right in the middle of Mooresville, North Carolina, you would know no different. I'm a racing side of things because I had in town, and there were a number of people that supported that, Um, you know, no, no matter what your race because they always had good crowd. They always had good car counts. I grew up around racing, You know, I think you know, when I came into the sport my early years. I think there were nine guys from California so I was kind of in that transition of You know? When the sport was looking for that next generation of drivers. Um, you know when the Sterling Marlin's and the Dale Earnhardt's and that generation of guys was starting to retire, and you know, there was a lot of money in the sport. So all the teams were. We're starting Bouchard national teams at the time. Go out and groom their drivers and unfortunately, a lot of us on the West Coast. You know, a lot of the team owners were looking for new guys to go out and try out in their cars. And I was fortunate to be a part of that evolution of change. And, um you know what it brought to the racetrack. So you know, I think as you look at it now. You know, I still think a lot of people that Don't know A lot about NASCAR racing would still probably have that stereotypes that they they don't know anything about it or, you know, put that on, you know, on record as saying. You know that Z mostly a south Southeast thing, but you know, it's It's been fun, Tonto Watch. Um Watch it grow and watch it change and be a part of that along the way. It has changed dramatically. And I think for the better for the Syriza because now there's fan bases and drivers and fans from all different parts, the country and it's really spread coming up on Sunday from Darlington, 3 30 Eastern on Fs. One is going to be Darlington, the retro run down the Lady in black. It's altogether on Mother's days to check it out. Kevin Harvick joining us on the show. It's always great to catch up.
