"On the amateur circuit. Well i think to. He has the means to basically be a professional golfer. It's like without really being professional golfer. Like i think he gets to play practice. It really sweet places. All the time which is great credit to him or his family or whatever. That's awesome that you shouldn't be shit on a super. I imagine he gets shit on for that. A lot by other amateur the way he looks he shows up to these things in these other guys like you say like probably don't have the same like like access and means that he's able to like he just shows up beats them get invited to all the best tournaments in the world and you know he's just laughs at them essentially being like. Thanks for showing up fellas yet the country club next week. It's like no you won't actually. I'm just an amateur. I play at bethpage black. I thought i had it this year. But you show up again and you beat me. I don't know what to do do happening. Every time i seen this guy holding up a trophies. He's invited the falcons. Us open again. It's like what the fuck is still doing. It finishes like lo am. I feel like at the. Us open all the time. He gets the play in the masters he gets. He's playing like the walker cup all the time. Which the walker cup like everybody's in everybody's in college and and then there's like this thirty. Whatever your old guy out there who just cleans up and was like winning matches and the walker so yeah. I think he pisses a lot of amateurs which i think. That's is john. Stewart haugestad the third. It's just the name is a fucking temper villain. He's a super villain born in newport. Beach california who thirty thirty years old. I mean he's he's got probably one of the best jobs ever to i think i read something h- whatever. His title is at his real job. Laugh out loud funny. See if i can find it quickly. It's great i will say he. This guy costanza that he beat george that guys name a moorestown new jersey investment banker on the first stage of his honeymoon like he's not the only one out there that's clearly got a pretty good gig like if you can make the men amador to right like you gotta be above the twenty five so basically they're eliminating all the young college fucking studs so then it's like who's got the best life that also gets to play golf and become really good at it all the time tournament. That's pretty much. What the tournaments.

"Brady out in so many different situations and how he's done an excellent job finding them when they're open in a timely manner. I think giovanni bernard is going to be excellent in that role. And i also think tom brady is going to really be able to find a way to carve this defense up now. I'll say this about the dallas cowboys. Defense mike nolan is no longer there. Mike nolan that defensive coach who was best buddies with mike mccarthy had a defense in two thousand twenty that ranked twenty second in yards allowed twenty eighth in points allowed and also ranked twenty eighth and third down conversions per game. Defense couldn't get off the that couldn't. Xq run fits it to save their life. Their gap integrity was a mess. You could just run on them all day and actually had solid players. I think the divas blind could have been a little bit stronger specifically at the defensive tackle position but it was just a mess from a coaching standpoint. You knew magnolia was gonna be the fall guy he was. And then mccarthy was able to bring in. Dan quinn and quinn is a very very talented coach. Eve's only a few years removed from leading the atlanta falcons to the super bowl where they lost twenty eight to three game to tom brady. So you know. There's some sorry dan. Quinn probably has nightmares about tom. Brady if we're going to be honest. Dan quinn also from moorestown new jersey. Shout out moorestown new jersey. But he's a very well. Respected coach comes from the seattle seahawks tree. Lot of cover three type of defenses. Lot of zone defense. Now we snow that. Dan quinn when he was. The coach of the falcons got the play. The buccaneers twice last year. Both were losses for the falcons. But the buccaneers were much better team. But in those games against those defenses brady threw for seven hundred. Eighty nine yards six touchdowns and one interception in those games. Now that's that's pretty solid stats right there. But i'm willing to say the cowboys defense. Maybe better personnel wise. And i know their defense is in great. But i think they're better personnel. Wise in the falcons where last year's especially when you think about the fact that they got. Mike parsons to kind of lead. That defense i still have late in van der actually still have jalen smith they still have demarcus lawrence. I think trevan digs is probably going to take another step forward in his development entering year two. But even with all that said i think brady can carve defense up which it's not going to a great for the dallas cowboys which sure a lot of giant fans are looking forward to but i think dan quinn is going to be good for this defense. Throughout the season. I think he's going to bring a lot to this defense and help stabilize it and it won't be as much of a mockery as it was last year all right before we get into some more news. Let's take a quick break here. Award from our sponsors..

"It's only been ten years. Our ten years will. Of course you should have a turn hosting one of our staff picked shows from the archives this summer. But just this month's okay. Thanks one of the perks of this job as the executive producer of. Here's the thing is you get to meet. So many people admire and respect including people whose posters hung on your bedroom wall in upstate new york during the nineteen seventies and people whose lpzoo listen to you on your turntable over and over so often the vinyl warped or wore thin meyer cable picks today are to these grades poet writer musician and the ultimate punk rocker patti smith and one of the best guitarists and vocalists in the world rock legend. Peter frampton get these phone calls in quick succession. Your number one in the charts. you know. It's the biggest selling record of all time. You've just outsold cow. Kings tapestry will hear alex conversation with peter frampton in a bit but first let's hear from music icon patti smith. Alex conversation with patti smith was recorded. Live in two thousand sixteen at the mayo performing arts center and moorestown new jersey. When i call patti's manager to book around the show i was surprised and frankly thrill when patty called me back herself to tell me she was a huge fan of alex and of course she would be guest. I love when we record live shows for the podcast because it brings a whole new energy and feel as you'll hear this was a love fest with the audience and patty. No stranger to life shows was the perfect guest. Alex started by asking if she'd have the same career if she started out today. Actually i have no idea. Because i didn't really come into the music business i was. I came. I wound up in music by mistake. I'm not really a musician. I didn't really want to be a musician or singer just wanted to. I wanted to be a poet writer and it was accidental. So would it accidentally happen now. I don't think so. I think i would have to be more focused on what i wanted. But also because i'm so untechnical logical and things. I mean i'm just not really suited for right now so probably i would have to be physicist. Drove abandoned the game. I don't drive so true. She's have a license. I said you ever lived in la. She said no. I don't swim and i don't drive. That's true but if you came in now you be a scientist who said i don't but i don't think i would ever problem no matter where i came in. You know i would figure out something. I'm pretty scrappy. When you say that you wanna musician how did that begin for you. Well i mean. I came to new york in one thousand nine hundred sixty seven wanted to be an artist and i also wrote poetry. And after i just started writing more poetry and then Was shepherded by people like allen. Ginsberg and william burroughs and gregory corso and they all read their poetry so i wanted to read poetry. But i didn't want wanna be boring. Because i went to a lot of poetry. And they were snores. Ville you know they were like sorry but really boring so i just started like good wine. I didn't even drink. I don't do anything interesting. Really i mean the shouted tequila. No i never had a drug problem at least twenty minutes on that drug problem. I was going to no actually. I was such a sickly kid that my parents worked so hard to keep me alive. That when i when i came out into the world the last thing i was going to do is fuck that up. I just i'm not. I don't have a self destructive event. But also. When i was a kid my mother was a chain smoker and she i mean real true chain smoker and when she ran out of cigarettes and she didn't have money she would pace all night long. I get up at midnight and see my poor mom pacing. Because she didn't have a cigarette and i thought then i'm never gonna be dependent on anything because i thought what would happen. If you got stranded on a desert island you didn't have cigarettes. You'd like fall apart so it was like early lesson in what. I didn't want pacing on a desert tobacco. But i feel like somehow i didn't answer some question. Oh i know because you're yet it doesn't matter you do whatever you wanna do how. I went up singing. I just wound up singing like to make a little singing little songs acapella between poems to make it a little more interesting and then sort of wrap in poems and it was just Organic on your own. You didn't see anybody else doing that. I mean i sold like be poets. Or i mean just i think of everybody that i was influenced by at that time in my life. Johnny carson was the one. I just thought like drug problem either. I'm not surprised. But i mean but just the fact that johnny carson his is his ability to improvise or to get himself out of any situation. That was always what i was looking for. If i was on stage gotten a bad situation find my way out of it. You grew up in south jersey and see kind of tough that where you grew up your dad. What did you do for a living. He has worked in a factory over. Your mom. do waitress. How many kids in your family three girls one boy and i was the oldest and it was tough. Well yeah i mean it was financially tough we had a it was in those ways very tough but in another way we had. It was very magical. Because i'd really great siblings. I had a great imagination. Red lot hundreds of books my parents we knew that they had a lot of strife and stress. But you know it was just. The world seem so magical. It wasn't so bad for us. Books were my salvation. And so i didn't think of things. The only bad thing was when i'd be hungry. I mean truthfully. I like to eat. I was really skinny and a real. I was always hungry and that was my big problem. Really skinny background. Yeah really skinny and then when you left home. Where'd you go new york. I left when i was twenty. And basically i left to get a job because in south jersey and philadelphia the new york shipyard closed down and later like thirty thousand jobs overnight. We're lost and there wasn't any work. No matter how low factory job nothing and there was no more work. And i needed a job so i went to new york city to get a job. And we're gonna job in a bookstore. I got a a series of bookstores. Until i really landed a great bookstore. Job in scribner's bookstore. And i worked there for about five years and they're really tells a lot about you. That really pretty much sums it up your home in jersey. You can't get a job you're starving. You go into.

He would just kind of chewy away and then he crawl up on joshua's lap and lean into josh's shoulder one time joshua's working on his laptop and as crawled up on the cash knicks on them and then crawled up onto his shoulders so like little monkey and then put his legs every shoulder. Head on joshua's head does chin on josh's head and sat there for quite a while. Just stuggling josh on top of his shoulders. While josh worked and i'm just sitting there like i'm not working as snuggle. Me the best love for the men. Yeah he's just he. He does snuggle me and i might be the only woman in his life that he snuggles and dream a mother and i know i know but yeah he is just you bring in a dad. You bring any grandpa. And that's where it's at grace sweep but yes. New jersey was a blast. Moorestown is a cool place. He has morristown is like so much. In the revolutionary war happened there. And i feel like as a west coaster. We just don't really on immersed in any of that and on the east coast. It's everywhere in the south and I am very conflicted by at all. I love this. I can hear you in that. Because when i would visit andy's parents. In north carolina there was a lot of like confederate monuments email and statues of people. You you could history. You could just feel history there. It has so wild and the birthplace of our nation. I mean it happened because of all these wars you know and so yes. People bravely in there is that aspect. But it's like but it was still so many people died and everyone like i'm so thankful i'm reading about george. Washington has his headquarters there and they're talking about like during the war and it's freezing and everyone's cold to build cabins on stuff and i'm like thank you god. I was born in two thousand or nineteen eighty one and not in eighteen. Eighty one like. I'm so grateful that wasn't alive in eighteen. Eighty and also born in california. I feel the same way. Because he i'm part of the homeschool world and it's like trying to go back a little bit to like little house in the prairie and wearing winning and like a lot of the things i like wing linen just so towns like the girls are in bonnets and you guys but did you watch house in prairie like bay built everything and then a fire would come like. I don't even know how ma had her period during the time into care right just stopped. She just had a bunch of cotton. She all the cutting scraps. I don't wanna go back. Who knows what. I'd be doing those days. I'm right here where i need. Yes i don't want to go back. And i need correct myself. Seventeen eighty one. I know the revolutionary war was not in the eighteen. Hundreds i know isn't seventy eight hundred. But i i think about that all the time from the perspective like if i was raising my kids and everyone is so dirty and smelly like where do you where do you babe. And it's not every day. And i know people bathed by you know and you got to warm up the water. It's a whole thing you gotta share. And everybody's gonna share the water. This goes on there. And i mean my gosh so like attended but we were just take away from our time together gosh much more now about the revolutionary war in newtown thankful that i was not involved in that revolutionary war. It's also sad. People who are very patriotic and listen to this are going. Be mad at me for these comments. I think but. I'm i really am grateful for a lot of things that have happened that i get to live in the united states. I'm just also like you said pretty grateful that i'm in california all the greenery out here and real presley shosh. It's so pretty. It's a pretty Okay what what else have you guys been doing. Because mica you've been traveling mercedes traveling yeah What have we been up to so we got to go. Last year was our ten year wedding anniversary. We're going to go to hawaii. And then covert hit so we couldn't go then. We bought a home and we still thought. Maybe we can't swing both but we were able to swing both and we've got to go to for eleven. Th wedding anniversary brought the kiddos that was magnificent and then we went to chicago to finally bring. Andy's grandma who passed away in january earlier of this year to their family plot outside of chicago. It's like two hours in a really really small town in the cemetery is mostly their family like they can see if unreal lake. They could be like that's uncle so and so and great grandpa bowl but like it's wild like they have their whole basically ancestry right there so it was really beautiful to bring back the ashes of his grandma than also his grandpa and they had a stillborn baby that they cremated also so we brought all three of 'em to rest and it was really magical. I felt like a country girl was like an old cemetery underneath beautiful oak trees and it was beautiful and it was cool to be there with andy and our kids to see gramma highs. Was her name her barn that she grew up in still in the family thorough old farm. Yep it was really beautiful chicago. And chicago's cool. i love chicago. Chicago is calling went to the aquarium. There yeah it was really neat and then we were at family camp but we had to come home sent him he got sick and i just over -joyed with like feeling blessed that you know what we have been blessed doing a lot of traveling and this is her first called scary. We're still kind of coming out of the pandemic and traveling around. And this is the first time experiencing cold. She didn't have to be hospitalized but we. It's got kind of serious so we didn't get to go to family camp this year. Which is a bummer. But it's okay 'cause he's alive and well you know. I'm so happy that sonny's doing well and all all his right. Yeah i was before. Heather came to my house. I was in maine for a little bet. And chris's family. Has this cottage that they've shared in the family since the thirties. Whoa.

"I'm doing well. I'm from New Jersey I grew up in southern. New Jersey right outside of Philadelphia. Town called Moorestown New Jersey. I at a very young age suffered from depression. Anxiety I grew up in what you'd say abusive household. And on the outside, everything looked peachy came. We looked like the all American family. My family add money and so a lot of things that I think would have been noticed, and things were let go and so. I went through childhood where it was just it was awful for me when I was real young I went through horrible bullying in school eventually I became friends with the popular kids, but I ended up still suffering from this anxiety and depression, which led me to do anything to fit in with them when I was very young, I started. Smoking cigarettes was the first thing and then drinking alcohol and smoking weed. And I liked to anything that would sort of change. The way I felt inside and so I hung out with the kids that were doing that type of thing, and my anxiety got so bad by the time I was fourteen. I actually took myself to the hospital. Believing I was having a heart attack and dying. And I ended up going to see a psychiatrist who put Miana a drug called? would I didn't know that client is is very similar to something called Zanex, which is very addictive drug man. What the doctor just did was he said here's this strong. You take this this'll make. Go Away, but we never discuss what was causing anxiety, or what do I do have to take this drug forever? Basically, it was how he just said. Here's his prescription. You take it every day when you have anxiety and which was every day for me, so I started taking that? Day, and what later what I realized was a drug like that at the most. I should have been on for about three days at the very most, it's only to be used in really emergency situation, and then there should have been other ways we looked at. So..

Other people draw saving themselves. How many from the person who doesn't have a child? No, thank you. Kidnapping it's a good idea. person who has the kid who's going to be on cops Monday night. All right so you are. You are defending your point well. So, so you're not really into teaching them a new fund game that uses water, juice or soda. Now Pong. Like Soda Pong all right, just wondering. What are other college type drinking games that kids should be allowed to play with non alcoholic drinks. There's got to be something. Flip Cup Cup for Sure Cup? Yeah Flip Yeah, I'M! Just wondering. Hey! Can you remember the last time you were Nice Pants Gandhi? No well nice pants down as Lena jeans because I did try those on to make sure they. Know and you didn't wear them. You just had them on temporarily. You just had them onto take fit and you took them right right. I haven't I during the very beginning of this. This pandemic thing I remember wearing jeans to the store and I gotta be honest. Before they required masks. I mean it was that early and I remember getting home. Thinking this is gross. These genes are nasty and I haven't been on a pair I've had sweats. That's the only long pant I've had on. And they're saying. Like sixty something percent of us haven't had on pants in over three months. Mid Market is. Pajamas and sweats. That's where it's at. If you're gonNA wear something that's longer than short. FROGGY hasn't had anything but shorts on and since I think. I think Obama was president. You haven't had short long pants on like in that long I don't even own pants and get rid of all my pants. I don't even know if they hit. Who needs them with shorts on you somebody the other day said. There's going to be an event. You'll need to wear pants for I'm not coming. Sorry shorts! Can you imagine if you got invited to a black-tie? No I'm not going to that. and. The most part I just wonder how they can go on being so constricted because for me that face mask and my fat cheeks. It does not go well together, so I can't wait to rip it off as soon as i. sit in the car so when I see somebody wearing it to me. That's like seeing my girlfriend at home wearing a bra to sleep I'm like what why? Why would you do that? Like getting home after work and ripping off your spanks, it's the it's the equivalent of getting home and then ripping yeah! So I get nervous. I do think it's important to remember that we're do a podcast and ultimately we want people to listen so we need to give them more than twenty four hours to listen to episodes before we crank out new ones. That's an important lesson to remember. We always in. These aren't these aren't ten minutes jams either. These are like our have episodes. So exactly we're on an inhuman pace so it's good to get a little breather and also allows us to save up some things to talk about which is nice so like Liam Niessen right after his wife died. Exactly I mean maybe not exactly like that but sure As far as weekends go I mean I had my daughter so it was busy as busy as can be trying to entertain eight year old with nowhere to go but this is what we're dealing with now. Although God knows what's going to happen in the next couple of weeks with all these places reopening have no idea. I'm happy to be providing more dope for the audience of Charlie their funding for it. You know so. We'll give the people what they want tapping gene. That's right now. My weekend was fine.
