Danielle Interviews Former Senate Aide Tara Reade

"I'm delighted to welcome our guest today Tara Reid. She's an author, actress, former Senate aide, and the host of the Tara Reade podcast. Tara, thanks for joining us. Hi. Yeah, I'm actually in my podcast is called the politics of survival. And it's on every Friday night. So on rumble and on YouTube, well, sometimes YouTube, sometimes they pull it down. You know. Oh my gosh. Oh no. So you get like some YouTube strikes and violations lately, but yeah, it seemed like it was more frequent earlier this year and it seems to have calmed down a little bit, but yeah, look everyone. I think rumble is really great because it's just sort of there's no, there's no censorship. Yes, that is so nice. It's crazy too how I'm sure you were just talking about things that shouldn't have been censored, but how it is. But yeah, I thought we could get started by maybe you could tell us a little bit about your earlier years in life. Where did you grow up? Where are you from? Kind of tell us a little bit about you becoming a Senate aide. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's interesting. wrote about it in my book left out when the truth doesn't fit in, and you can find that on Amazon or wherever. I wrote a bit about my childhood, but I lived on a farm in Wisconsin when I was a little girl. I was born in the Monterey county, California, since Linus. And you know, I went back there as an adult actually to the Monterey area, which is a beautiful area, but very, very expensive. And I loved my years growing up in Wisconsin farm. I always had an interest in my family is very political. My mother was an activist and anti war activist Vietnam and very committed to that. My father, I was pretty much a strange with him after their divorce from 13 9. I didn't see much of him for years at a time. But he was a defense contractor and worked for the panna cotta at one time and was a writer. So he was very different politically than my mother. So very different views. And I think that's kind of in a way good because I've had a lot of different input of different points of view throughout my life.

"This, if judging by just the initial volley that was launched at me and Murph by our next guest, this is going to be, she said, I thought I was, you know, we said you did great. You know, you got everything lined up. Oh, that's okay, because I thought I was old, but then I see you guys, and you guys are really old. She was talking about you, Morgan, not me. I still got all, look at this. I still have all my hair. Hey, anyway, before we get too far, this is a special episode and morph I'll let you tear it up because you really helped pull this one together. Yeah, our guest today is a little different than what we usually bring on to our listeners here in the fact that we bring on law enforcement. Well, this lady was involved in law enforcement. You're not going to believe the story she is going to tell us today. But it starts from the point of being a victim. So it's such an honor to meet Natasha and welcome you on the show. I have the opportunity to meet and Natasha and San Diego several years ago at a law enforcement conference that she was speaking at as well as the Southern California game conference that you guys have heard Morgan and I talk about. Her story is compelling. If you've got dries, then you're not listening when she gets to the end of her story. It's one of motivation. It's one of stamina. It's one. I'm not going to let the sum of a bitch get me down. This girl and I will call you girl because you are so much younger than we are. That translates to the lady. This lady stood up for doing what's right. I can't tell you how proud I am. Natasha, so welcome, welcome, welcome to game of crimes. Well, thank you all for having me. I'm excited to be here. I know it's a tough topic, but it's a topic that needs to be talked about. And I'm ready whenever you are. You got that right there. Right there. Well, I'm not going to shop. How long ago did you move from Arizona to Texas? 8 months. And you're already seeing y'all. Look at that. Okay, you all. Thanks. You already got the Texas drawl going. Well, she knew. You all are you guys. People are like, we don't say that here. I'm like, okay, what do we what do we say? Y'all. I'm like, okay, so we just put you all together. I can do that. I can do that. Good for you. Well, Natasha, as we do with everybody, we want to we want to start at the beginning. And with you, it's a little different because this is not about how you got into law enforcement, but it's really talking about how you're growing up and the things you got into that lead to our story today. So, you know, just give us a little bit of background. I mean, we don't need to go back to you, you know, I was a babe and swaddling clothes, but my first, I remember my first, you know, but it was more like, you know, basically tell us about like, where you grew up, you know, what was family like, you know, give us a give us a snapshot in time of what things were like for you growing up as a young girl. Okay, so I grew up in a middle upper class family. I went to private school. I have a younger brother. My parents, you know, were married for over 38 years. You see you grew up poor did you grow up at? And like central in the oh, I went to school in Santa Cruz county, but in Monterey county. California. Yes, sir. And just to me, it was your normal, your normal life. I was a missionary when I was 16. In a different country, I did cheerleading, swimming. I was involved in school. I got good grades. My brother was a football player. We really, you know, I had no childhood trauma to talk about, if anything, you know, I probably didn't even understand there was anything bad that existed outside of my world. It was just, you know, it wasn't until when I got back from being a missionary at 16 that I was like, oh my gosh. Well, let's talk about that. We have people. They want a gloss over guys, some missionaries 16 went to a foreign country. Now let's rewind. We want to know. So first of all, how did you get into so you said missionary? So what was your church and how did you get into end up being a missionary and then tell us about the country? Was it picked for you? Did you pick it? Where did you go? What were you doing? So let's talk about that missionary work. So because I went to a private school, it was a Christian school. Our science teacher, he would take groups through his church with his wife to different countries, and they were missionaries. And they asked, you know, they would ask students, would you like to go on these mission trips? And they worked with deaf kids, and we would be at deaf orphanages. So we would go through this training program and we learned sign language and we got all of our shots and they prepared us to go to this different country and, you know, I look back, it was Jamaica that we had went to. And I looked back and I laugh with my parents because I'm like, how could you have thought it was safe? Because I remember, you know, we had to smuggle in our bibles, our bus got pulled over, and I remember him, our science teacher standing up and being like, no one tell them why we're here. And you know, in the moment, I'm just like, you know, I'm going with it. Like, oh, this is funny and exciting. Don't gloss over that. Let's talk about that bus getting stopped. So we're with, I mean, because we know that they've got the posse over there. We know there's a lot of there were a lot of drug and marijuana smuggling. Tell us about the circumstances that you're bus getting pulled over. Time of day, time of night. Give us some detail here. This is like a, this is like a movie. I mean, I don't feel like it's maybe it's just my life, right? But of course, I do laugh about it now, but it is quite serious because I wonder what my parents were thinking. And so it was probably just gotten from the airport. We got on this white bus, you know, it wasn't like a school bus or anything. It was literally like this white bus, we get in the bus and it's driving and we're on these dirt roads because we were staying because we were there for a few weeks. We were staying at some deaf orphanages, but then we stayed in some huts because we built a water system for a local village. So we were really, really out in the middle of nowhere. So we're on the bus and all of a sudden I had no idea we were getting pulled over. Not understanding what's happening and the teacher stands up and he's like, okay, I just want to let everyone know we're not going to sell them while we're here. We're visiting. We're on this field trip. And that's what our story was. But I had already realized it when we had to smuggle in our bibles. I had already realized that. You know, kind of like, oh, we're not supposed to and just the way they had a stress and the rules that they had given us that, you know, when it goes dark when the sun goes down there, if you are walking on certain streets, you are considered a woman of the night. So by the time it started getting dark, we had to go into this compound that we were staying in at one of the deaf orphanages. So, you know, as an adult reflect back and think like, wow, this is so crazy stuff. But in the moment, as a child, you're just really going with it. You know, this is cool and interesting. And they get on the bus and search it or anything, or take you guys off the bus, what happened there? I remember he got off the bus, and he was talking to them, and he was standing in front of the bus door. And one tried to come in and he kind of went to the side. This is a bus full of kids. I really, you know, what kind of threat could we possibly be? And then one just gets up kind of peaks his head and looks at all of us and then steps off and then that was that was the end of it. Did you guys find the Kingston? I'm assuming so. You know, this was 25 years ago. So I'm assuming so. Were you guys up in the mountains? Is that where you stayed? I don't know if we were in the mountains. I remember dirt villages and it was a place that the locals called the bush, so

"Air out of wage growth So I would expect wage growth to moderate somewhat from where it is right now over the remainder of the year All right Well I just found out my youngest is starting his summer job Sunday so another person getting back back into the workforce So that's good news And I think we're seeing that across the board But Neil you know if I'm the Federal Reserve here this is a pretty solid number This is one of these kusher banking jobs where his entries one 50 Animal hospital And we'll hospital Monterey county California So he went out and got his job He's probably my most aggressive of my four kids in his youngest Cool I got a couple people that could take a call Exactly Continue with mister Todd I'm going to get him off the dolphin So Neil again my fellow reserve they're aggressive The question is how aggressive should they be So when they see a numbers report like this I guess they're measured approach seems to be the way to go Well I think the question you have to ask yourself really is is the fed going to risk a hard landing of the economy right When they talk about soft landing what they're really talking about is they're willing to tolerate a little bit more relative to their inflation target So that they don't have to push the unemployment rate off too much So yes I mean I think they're going aggressively relative to what we've normally been accustomed to I mean pal basically green lit three consecutive 50 basis point moves and said the next move wouldn't be to stop We're just simply to go 25 at the remaining three meetings of the year So that's a pretty aggressive interest rate move relative to what we've seen in recent memory So I don't know what neutral is and neither do they My assumption is that it's probably higher than where they would end the year But the fact that the fed's willing to do so much I think is important in and of itself I mean if you told someone late last year that the fed was going to go 50 basis points at the main meeting I mean you would have been laughed out of the room So I think that pivoted quite aggressively Very important to follow on from two brilliant conversations in the last 48 hours Michael darda mcam partners and Dominic consummate missou Both look at the nominal component of real GDP plus inflation They see a fed and this is concepts language It is necessary and sufficient to not.
