But it. Instead of coming up with the excuse for why you're doing poorly, you should come up with a solution that allows you to do better and here's the thing. We in Monroe County are accustomed to that. Because you know whatever you thought of their politics, I believe that Adam Bellow and Sheldon ofo and Maggie Brooks before that all had this tradition I'm not trying to be disrespectful of anybody who was before that or whatever it is. The these are all people I can think of specific examples. But the problems come up, every large operation will have challenges, of course, it, and what we've seen Outta. "When it happens anytime another hour Bob Bury starts now on newsradio. WAM. Appreciate that Good Morning Americans and hello my friend in a couple minutes I wanNA talk about the Monroe County Clerk's office specifically, your experience getting service. They're. Trying to take your road test or get your enhanced driver's license maybe going and get a passport or renewed or whatever along those lines. I'm just curious how under the administration of Jamie Romeo the offices is functioning. I thought I just wanted to say something before I forget there's a tweet that came out just a few minutes ago from the patrol section investigations of the Rochester Police Department. In, it's a photograph of a semiautomatic handgun looks to be nine millimeter They've got the bullet that was in the chamber out they've got the magazine which has rounds in it out. So you can see and here's what it says. In, a in a series of three tweets. Last Night Rochester Police Department responded to Lyell Avenue for the report of a female shot with the suspect still at the scene. Officers arrived in observed male with a female on the ground. The man had a hand gun in his hand and ran away from officers. That's the first tweet. Here's the second one. As the mail ran, he pointed the handgun at officers and attempted to climb a fence officers were able to safely take him into custody at the fence. Officers charged Jerome Lindsey Forty eight city resident with criminal possession of a weapon second, third and menacing a police officer He'll be released today Then it concluded fortunately, the woman was not a shot or injured, and then it continues excellent work by the police department. The officers were able to quickly de-escalate and avoid a deadly force encounter. And it's that I wanted to talk about for just a half a second recognizing right up front that I'm a frigging idiot right there. What these people in law enforcement do I have no idea about I'm blowhard who sits on my ass and runs his mouth. Okay. These are people who get up go out and do so they know and I don't. That recognized. What what what transpired you be the officer for a second. Okay. You. Have received radio call that says a man has shot a woman right? There's a woman shot. You pull up at the scene Lyle Avenue doesn't say where but I bet you and a half a mile of where it crosses lyle just me guessing but but you show up on a radio call a man has shot a woman you show up on scene there is a woman lying on the ground there is a man there he has a handgun he immediately turns and runs you bail out of your car you run after him he turns and points the handgun at you. Right. In that moment. What do you think? What do you do? Well as Tweet, a number of a three here says these officers De de escalated and they invoice avoided a deadly force encounter meaning they they. They did not shoot him. Right And and here's the deal that restraint. Is certainly as you and I sit here in the sunlight of beautiful day that restraint is very commendable right and in the context of these times in this city. Oh Yeah. Yeah. Yeah Yeah You didn't you didn't shoot. That's good. Don't shoot the guy. Shoot the guy. Right you you who knows who knows what? Gruber and Lukin and Barnhart will say about you on Evening News. Right who knows what bust the mayor will throw you wonder who knows what the protesters will do at your. House. Who knows how much writing? This will set off? Who knows what she'll do after you lose your career because of this. You did the right thing. As long as he didn't pull the trigger. Right. But what is your understanding and knowledge? That he's just shot a woman meaning. He knows how to work that trigger. And he is of a mind to work that trigger. Any points that gun you? As you believe in that moment he had. Pointed at that woman. Again, she ended up not having been shot. But that's not what the radio told you. That's not what her laying on the ground reinforced in your mind. Now this restraint. Is a wonderful thing. Right. It'll maybe keep city council out of ruining your career. It may be will keep the peaceful protesters from trying to destroy you and your family's life. But what if we have bred into our police? Not just prudent observation but fearful hesitation. And what if he had pulled the trigger Right. The. Deal is that this restraint? Is a wonderful thing. As long as the bad guy. Doesn't try to kill the cab. But the experience of humankind teaches us. That sometimes the bad guy does. Try to kill the COP. and. If the rules the road now are. The bad guy gets to take the first shot. Okay. He pointed a gun at you but you don't know you know you don't know you can't. That's you can't shoot him. No you don't know what does he the Avenue Bullets? Do you know maybe he's confused maybe he had an arm spasm you don't know you can't shoot him. Right call. Call up the people you rent the barriers from. We're back at the public safety building tonight. Right get a Mitch. What's his name A- GRUBER'S LOOP IAN Tell Barnhart hurry up now it to get all the TV cameras. It's time to rip apart and other COP. But what if we have created? A reluctance. To do something. which may in some instances and I'm not saying all they should've shot the COP, but it's like, okay. He pointed a gun at a police officer. A man who your best information was had just shot somebody. And again, that's wonderful restraint. Unless again, we have taught. A fear and a reluctance. because x number of guys running down the street point next number of guns x number of Cops X. percentage of the time. Those guys are going to pull that trigger. And at some point. You're in a have dead. COPS. And at that point. You've got to weigh in the balance. How many dead cops is inacceptable number in order to promote the restraint that will keep your county legislator and your city council. Person off your back. Right what's the calculus Madame mayor what what what is what is the break even point on dead cops relative to is just so we know. That we know going forward back with you in just a moment on newsradio eleven eighty. Welcome.

The the question arises you know again, the command group of the police, department quits in protest of the mayor. Is So what are the prospects for Lovely, Warren. Politically. At the beginning of October, every expectation is that she will be. indicted a for matters related to campaign finance. information relative to that is being presented to a grand jury I think we understand this month. So we'll wait and see being indicted to be honest with you may not necessarily be a liability for lovely Warren in the city of Rochester she may position herself as a persecuted female or you know up against the system or whatever it may help her if we're just being honest about things. but if one is convicted of a felony crime under New York, Law one is removed from office. Now, how long would it take if she were to be dry indicted for a trial to be held and brought to? those things can drag out. It Bob Duffy everyone believes has been positioning one of his employees at the Chamber of Commerce. Adrian Hail to challenge a lovely Warren at You know in the Democratic primary, we've had Adrian Hill on this program He's a young man who he's got a great story to tell went in the marine, corps went to MCC went to Harvard or Yale or one of those. and then came to work for Duffy and has been you know Duffy's had him speaking at all sorts of events trying to raise his profile and establishes know community Bona Fide Fides though Adrian hail grew up in the city of Rochester and everything like that. The against seems to be a young man of of of a good education and a lots of promise. But his his resume might be a little short. I've just pretty much given it all to you it. Question might be after yesterday. Might Laurent Single Terry be a possible mayoral candidate. I don't know as a young man who's been a police chief of a fairly good sized apartment. He could make an awful lot of money and get himself about twenty years of prominence by you know, hopscotching around the country being chief at ever larger urban departments. that would not be uncommon. Of course for him to take I. Don't know his desires, his interests you know he and I are not swapping notes or anything like that he is a son of Rochester. If the only issue is that if he were to want to challenge Mayor Warren next year and again this is all you know a speculation he said and done nothing whatsoever they would lead anyone to believe this is what he wants to do the one of the but immediately and instantly people thought well Ronca run against lovely. but the deal is that in the world of Democrat powerbrokers and they tend to be big into powerbrokers. there's there's nobody that I can think of or anyone else can think of who would come and be like Laurent's supporter or whatever. Like that Duffy's already in with a hail and you know that kind doesn't leave a whole lot of anybody. One thing that is that will be part of this. Is that just like the protesters last night presumed that they're the ones who got rid of the police chief..

"These things because I'm talking about you know obviously, brothers and sisters long personally have a very difficult job but I'll bring up one more point in that if you don't mind you know. We're putting cops in positions and we all agree you know everybody more mental. Health you know and I agree it's. Our fifteen. Love they're the best people in the wide world. We created that law enforcement ask for it right and and we created it, and then they they took almost two thousand calls just in August. Two hundred seventy I believe we're unique calls that's two hundred seventy people that are directly on one that we're not dealing with. Community that's how best this this mental health crisis is that we're in but that's not an excuse going that is we have to be very, very clear that we're calling nine one and asking police officers on a continuous basis to respond to calls that were not designed to handle, and we all agree that no one's not. So here's an opportunity not only to look at these things and then they'll look at you know across the board and not be offended on defunding and we all agree antagonistic term but is there a reallocation of resources can take the burden off cops and free them up to do with what they're designed to do public safety and security in your neighborhood and? Is Sending. You know two hours at the hospital next month the transplant get taken over. From that from us to the hospital in custody could someone else doing the person's not an immediate threat to anybody you know those are things that I think we got the plan time we're GONNA have these. Conversations and then last thing I think I was going to I'm rambling on. You can see you know is a time that we really need to take a step back and look at who we are, what we do not law enforcement. Law Enforcement Community all the stakeholders in our in our in our community. Really look at this structural stuff that people don't WanNa talk about. it's so important that we do it. Now we have an appointed time and then the last thing I was just GonNa add was the mental health part police officers. You know any job is stressful you callous you get jaded really really quick and we don't work in the mental helping instability and and in the police officers and their families they're human being inside those uniforms and we just gotta we gotta look at harder at that to how do we take care of our cops So they can take care of the community abstaining Sheriff Todd Back. So I was listening to the radio last night you just really impressed at the nine one one calls are still coming in cops are still responding. And they're doing what they're trained to do the during what they're causing the do and that's what professionals do when any organization. That's what professionals do when sometimes you know you get kicked in the gut and you got to move on and the people of the community, the city Rochester expecting deserve a service when they call and they're still getting today and and it's a testament professionalism amongst all this chaos he did. Not, want to draw you into something that may or may not be your your bailiwick, per se but understanding the command structure of that agency with these individuals no longer in their positions who who is in charge who who steps in and takes that responsibility Dino Sir. "Looking back. My friend welcome back very quickly on this issue of the Elections Commissioner for Monroe County. Each county has to one Republican one Democrat in that. So they can keep an eye on each other, and so the politicians aren't sleeping each other's throats and and that's a find system, right? Jackie Ortiz member of Rochester. City Council, I, presume she gets confirmed to this job. She'll resign net job but Jackie Ortiz. Last night was going to be considered by the legislature and that was thought probably. If past performance, is any indicator going to be some kind of rubber stamp deal? But you know we spoke yesterday to the top Democrat legislature. He very clearly had real problems with her candidacy in what's going on is there are Democrats who follow lovely warn, and there are Democrats who follow Joe Morelli. The ones who followed? Joe. Morelli all seem to be white. The ones who follow a lovely Warren. Awesome. The people of Color, and the deal is that you know as naturally happens you know if if people are you know they want the jobs and the power and the influence, and that's how electoral system works. Right. We vote for people who you know. We think we agree with or agree with us or whatever, and then they get in and they implement what they WanNa do and they bring in people who are philosophically like them and we presume and hope that that they are philosophically like us. Anyway, the point is that. This fights going on? And the white. Democrats with Morelli. Want Jackie Ortiz and using Jack. Your ts is a wonderful person. She I I I I think she's the grownup well, on city council. She sees I, admire her tremendously. She's a person of significant character and achievement. But the deal is that you know she's the candidate of Morelli and you know his group and over on the other side lovely and her group, they wanna go a different direction and they feel that the Morelli People Kinda screwed him over, and there's a lawsuit going and you know Morelli is better at organizing. You know what's going to happen like when the Democratic Party gets together in Monroe County and a convention, he's been running that show for a long time. But at the end of the day, it's a legal matter involving elected representatives. You know people hold office in the county legislature and you know the the lovely Democrats. They don't want Jackie Ortiz. And the Republicans who are the majority I think that they've had a very good working relationship with the lovely. Warren. Democrats. And I think they taken the position of you know what the Democrats need to be united when you guys sort this out You know we'll. We'll be theref- will vote for wherever you pick you know, but we're not gonNA. You know we're not going to choose one of you guys over the other. So here's the deal I, I saw various news called this a deadlock or fighting whenever like that. It's not, it's democracy. And sometimes it's ugly and sometimes elbows get thrown But that's how these things get sorted out and at the end of the day even though sometimes it can look ugly. It's the will of the people because people went to a voting booth. You know some novembers ago and they elected members of the county legislature and stuff like that in those people have the legal responsibility and prerogative and they're exercising. So we'll see how it works out myself of late I feel persuaded by the lovely warned Democrats, they seem, you know to be more sincere in this matter many while shut up who cares when I think, but but that's what's going on there. We will the. Still, go forward. Fine. We'll everything be just the way it's supposed to be. Yeah. Don't worry about it. The Election Commissioner is you know the the it's not a completely essential role i. don't know that she counts the ballots herself. They GONNA lots of staff to take care of that and I believe there still is an acting commissioner it time for traffic weather on the ten on newsradio eleven eighty. newsradio whammy lemonade. Sixty eight is the temperature at eight, forty, two in you're listening to news radio WHAM eleven eighty. Okay now back to the covert, clap for half a second, there's just a thought that came to me and I did a little bit of looking around I. Think I the last couple of days once or twice I've mentioned the notion that we need to realize recognize that Cova doesn't go away when we get a vaccine. I don't know if a lot of us were paying attention and biology class or maybe they've just dumb things down so much that we still got a great score on the regions and just don't know squat. But of course, a vaccine. Is for the person who gets it a partial protected and to the extent that vaccine vaccines are beneficial and they're dramatically beneficial it comes from mass inoculation and some function of mathematics. If, a whole bunch of us have partial protection than the whole lot of us have a very good protection. Anyway, leave that aside. When a vaccine is found for Kovac. We will probably have maybe for a period of years just about as much covid in Kovic sickness in Cova death as we have in New York right now, recognizing that is important so that we're not like you know shocked or scared when that ends up being the case, and also if government is using this level of Covid to oppress us and destroy our businesses and desecrate our personal liberties, Yotam yesterday Then we oughta be aware of the fact that this might well continue for a long long time. Here's an example, the measles maxine was invented in America in nineteen, sixty three. So we had a vaccine against measles in nineteen, sixty three and began mass inoculations initially through measles vaccine. Then a handful of years later through the Mr Measles Mumps and rubella, right a whooping cough. But we we began in nineteen, sixty, three mass, a vaccinations for measles. Measles was eliminated as an endemic disease in the United States in the year two, thousand, I mean open borders brought it back in the two, thousand eight, but we beat measles finally in the year two thousand. After thirty, seven years of. Based vaccination. Right and. That's a reasonable model for a new vaccine against any disease. and. So you know they're gonNA make vaccine. and. We're GONNA have Cova D- just like people had measles for almost forty years after that maxine was made. and. That's not to diminish confidence or gratitude or saying your prayers that they quickly get a vaccine. It's just this is how biology works. And we've got to apply that to how politics works especially oppressive politics. If at this level of covert, a Cuomo insists on flying the flag at half staff and running the government like he's the king. If, we are apt to have this level of covert infection for years and maybe decades to come. What is he going to do? What will his successor's do? What.

Here's my second Thought of the overnight about covid. and. You know I kneel before the altar of Kovic, which is our our master, and Lord, we all know that if you're not living right, here's the thing as about safe. You're not living right now in abject terror of of covert. It's probably because you're a racist or something like that. Trump voter. Damn you. But I I. You know. We work here and broadcast central in the five. Star. Bank building in downtown Rochester. And the building in the best of times is almost empty, right? This is downtown. Rochester were an office tower. So you know a lot of empty space, but with the Cova de and People working from home. The the building is is largely deserted. You'll go two or three or four days and not see anyone. In this building other than say, an immediate co worker or the the the good folks who work the security desk right. But this morning. I get out of the car and I'm walking towards the elevator and The elevator is in a separate room, which is separated divided on two sides from parking garage by a glass wall, a glass door, right? So you can see through heavy slowly, but it's separated I down of the car I. Moseley. S I. go through the Glass Door I'm in this room with the two ends, you can see through an and the elevator is there in that room and it's a large large room. A lady walks up on the other side, the other glass door, and she sees me and she immediately stops and she won't walk in. We're both wearing masks. Okay. She won't walk into this large glass room while I'm there right, and I'm not sure you truly can see fear in someone's eyes, but I sure thought I saw in hers. I walk over and I pushed the button, and after a fashion, the elevator opens and I. by course, we don't stand near anyone anymore I. I had moved to the opposite side of that that glass room when the elevator opened. I pointed at it with my finger and ingestion with my other hand. Saying you go ahead Dick Delaware because clearly she didn't want whatever like that, and she no wave that off did not want to come in to the. You know the end of the room, there's there is a, there is a fear you know prudence is You know always important and stuff like that. But fear is Well, the what's at they taught you in Sunday school. Satan is the father of fear which is saying the Bible be strong and a good carriage courage rather of I again, I. Being afraid can be self preservation type thing. But having a population that's kind of. unduly worked up is a great tool for manipulation but it's not really a prudent or happy way live. Anyway, that's a tangent. It is Sixty six at eight, twenty one and you're listening to Newsradio wham eleven eighty. Second to have to put something on facebook here, just a second. For Mount. Morris. Residents. Comma. The matter of the gentlemen coming into people's homes has been addressed by the district attorney and the police. Department. Period? He is currently being held in the. Living, living. Thing I've expel this county jail on a high bail. Go, it's a funny thing and we'll get to within the second and I'm not trying to highlight any particular situation necessarily But in Mount Morris is is where I have the privilege of live to live. It's wonderful. Town all nine of my children have grown up there. It's their hometown and we're grateful for. The the people who are our neighbors there has of late been. A situation where. a man has been breaking into homes. And The Mount Morris Police Department is rock solid. They do a as as one resident. My my judgment is they do an excellent job. And they catch him every time. But we live in, you know a state where the cops the bad guys in the crooks of the victims and we don't have bail. and. So the memoirs police department catches this man every time and they've got their eye on him to try to prevent him from doing more of this stuff all the time. But each time he is a caught. He is you know there's no bail. Under. The. Reforms of this state brought to you. By the Democratic, party I'm not trying to be partisan, but this is something they're proud of something they run on something. They promised to give more of if they are successful in November at the national state and local levels, right? But. The deal is that this man and I don't know whether this. What his situation is, you know people sometimes do crimes because they're motivated by drugs. Sometimes, people do crimes because they have mental illness. Sometimes, people do crime just because they're evil, right? Whatever this a gentleman's issue is. it keeps breaking into two. Right. And you know he, it's an appearance ticket. It's an appearance ticket. It's an appearance ticket. And it has been very disquieting for the people of of Mount Morris, and you know there are those who are afraid. He's going to break into their house and I know just as a resident, we at our home. Have you know short of redoubled our physical security? and. They're also those who just realistically say you know you you. Keep Breaking People's house at a certain point. You'RE GONNA get shot right? Because if you're in someone's home and you know they encounter you, you know their first response might not be Psyche Val. You know there might be another initial response that could end up a messy. Anyway My understanding is taking more information He was indicted yesterday. by limiting county, grand jury and on some charges and is currently being held on a fairly high bail and so if he needs to dry out, he can do that in jail. If he needs to access mental health services he can do that in in jail. If he's just a bad guy needs to be segregated from his neighbors. Then back in happen it I in jail, but to the folks Mount Morris you are. Spared at least temporarily from the ravages of a Democrat, criminal justice reform he has been locked in at least from him. "Tell me about your concerns? Or. If you are a teacher does not speak for you, and here's the deal I understand. You know we live in the era of the Internet Antifa, and if any of these folks here, you say something contrary to what you're supposed to. They'll come after try to destroy you. So if you're a teacher, don't feel obligated to give your real name right and let me give you the rule of pseudonyms on this broadcast. If you are a male and you want to be identified, we will call you Eddie or you may identify yourself as Eddie if you are a female and what not to be identified, then you, your name will be Valerie. If you are neither male nor female, then you'll be screwed. or or maybe not. What am I? How does that work? Let's just move on though. But you can call up here, give a different name and You won't have the. Internet. ANTIFA. Come after you hopefully. But I would just be curious if you are a teacher, what do you think? What is your experience? Tell you? What is it that you have in your heart about the possibility of opening schools in about a month? We'll be back after. The big news gas with Joe laskey on newsradio eleven eighty. newsradio whammy eighty weather brought to you by William. Muhtar hurt in a car call William Muhtar. It's going to be mostly sunny today hazy another warm one high in the upper eighties. Maybe Ninety, seventy, seven, and eight, forty, one, you're listening to newsradio eleven eleven eighty. So the deal is that? You. have. This judge saying that that a cap of fifty people is it for a religious event is not acceptable legal. Now, how do you get from wedding to religious event? The people on behalf of the golf course argued that culturally We have seen As a religious undertaking all through our history, it is, for example, in Catholicism, a sacrament It is in my religion and ordinance some official event necessary ultimately to your salvation. So, it. It's it. It's a big deal and and here's the deal. The CUOMO administration instead of responding to this as someone committed to the cause of liberty might, which would be were hold it. If we screwed up, we're sorry, we're grateful this clarification we believe in the constitution, we support the federal judiciary, and if we've done something unconstitutional and then we'll back right off at. Thank you judge giving us new information on this, but we don't live in that world. We live in Cuomo Stan right and he'll do got pissed. With capital Peo- right and and his deal was that This is wrong. The judges irresponsible. This is dangerous We're going to appeal this. This will not stand and this ruling applies only to these two weddings. There can be no other weddings. There can be no other religious gatherings. You can't have more than fifty people and so Cuomo, drug doubles down on being a jerk, right? He doubles down on dominating and suppressing, your liberty. This is one of an and here's the thing you watch a TV or the news. They went to some like local place where you can have weddings, I guess, and the people there conditioned already to being sheep said. At this is this is someone who's who's living is we put on wedding receptions. Okay. Come your thing here and they said Oh no. No. That we we would not. We will not violate the state guidance. It's it's foreign own safety. Okay But here's the thing. The judges right. this will be appealed though by the state, the next place it would go is to New York City to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. What will it decide? We'll time will will tell us. But one thing I probably point out is that though the governor claims this gives you know new rights. I don't feel obligated to believe him or accept his interpretation of of what this means and and be honest with you. I'm embarrassed as a as a you know worship Rom I'm going to hell I'm not a good person, but I like to go to Church and listen to the people sing or whatever. but I'm embarrassed that this lawsuit making this argument, which of course is true that I, I'm embarrassed that this defense of the right of public worship in our Constitution was defended by my church or yours or the mosque over there, the synagogue down the road. but. It was defended by a couple of guys at a golf course, right? When the golf course people care more about the constitution and care more about freedom of religion, then do the you know all the pre lates and the the bishops and the What do you call people all their fancy robes and fancy titles? All the religious leaders were Kinda screwed right. But I'm grateful in our society. There were some people who had some sense of liberty and would stand up for it even if we did have to. I, I think that people at the post office touches every single person every day whether you have Mueller or not. You pay attention to whether you're male or not is extremely important a lot that you get the meal, right? I think that people should pay attention to how our president is going along with appointing someone as postmaster general I'd like to know if he had a background in the postal service. So the actually knew knows what is going on at the base level. You know how you get the mail out I, love and respect the postal service and the people who work for it. But Myself, I would not appoint a postmaster general whose background is in that organization because that organization is an astounding abject failure, it has been recently politicized for whatever reason, the Democrats are very the they want attention focused on the postal service. Here ears the the simple thing we need to stop subsidizing the Postal Service in most regards, and we need to tell it to sink or swim. We live in an era where the delivery of parcels is the fastest growing industry. We have right nearby shopping online, and you see these incredible people in the Amazon vans and the Fedex trucks in the ups and sometimes rented vehicles in their flying this way, and that in they're.

Miami-Dade sees low COVID-19 positivity rate with increase in death toll

"Florida Department of Health reporting a big drop in covert 19 infections in the past 24 hours. But the death toll is up 4155 new cases reported along with 91 deaths that includes nine lives lost in Miami Dade, 18 in Broward and five in Palm Beach. No new deaths in Monroe County. The positivity rate is also down. The latest 8.6% and we're not in the clear yet. But with Florida's daily total of slightly more than 4000 new cases and the positivity rate dropping, local elected officials and doctors are cautiously optimistic that we're seeing the light at the end of the Corona virus tunnel locally, The rolling 14 day positivity rate is down in both Miami Dade and Broward counties have also seen hospitalizations trend lower If the virus is like the seasonal flu epidemiologist, Dr Robert Cook hopes Florida's outbreak has peaked, and with so many people exposed Is there could be immunity building in the community. I do think Miami took pretty aggressive. There's hopefully those types of forceful things won't be necessary. If people can't just accept it does seem to be working. The math seem to be working. "The bridge amand. Welcome back France. I just saw something. Not. Disturbing but it. Hurts my feelings a bit. Than come out. Right Deanna duberry channel ten. She's an anchor there and she's been here a few years and she's been fighting cancer. We we spoke with her a little bit ago. Remember she went with her son down to see John Lewis when he was lying in state. Any rate she tweeted something out yesterday I just came across but It says here had to have a Cova test before my cancer treatment and suffice it to say I wasn't fond of the feeling of a foot long swab being shoved up my nostril fortunately, test is mercifully short and that's attached to a video that someone took her in a chair as this test is being given to her. And you can see that the poor lady is is in extreme discomfort and she and again, this is a lady who's been through hell and back repeatedly fighting cancer. I think three separate times now and she knows how to take pain and you can just tell that this is very unpleasant for her and she does the very best she can at any rate I've not had cova, tasks? To. Heaven. You know had any reason to have not been in contact with anybody whatever else like that I if you've been in had it and you want to tell us what it was like. I. Eager to hear. But God bless DNA duberry who by the way up starting some new. Cancer Treatment and whatever like that keep her in your thoughts and prayers. But I've re tweeted that video and it's I feel bad for her. I apologize if sometimes we overdo issues involving the the city and it's Politics I. Apologize For that I recognize that for most of us, it doesn't impact our lives and it's not particularly interesting. But some of these things nobody else is doing it or not very much is doing it. I'm grateful to city newspaper, which has a turned out under David Andreatta to have sort of retooled itself, and if you are interested in things involving the city city newspapers doing a very good job of reporting on a lot of stuff I check them out if I were you. Any rate city newspapers don't a story about something that's been percolating a little bit in the background for a while, and it is an effort by the Joe Morelli. An Adam Bellow Democrats in the county legislature to sort of push aside, the guy who is now the leader of the Democrats in the legislature and I know you may not care about all this Gimme two minutes to lay it out and we'll move on. Okay. There's a man named Vince felder he was on the show last week week before I think he's the minority leader of the Monroe County legislature. He's the top Democrat and he speaks for and leads that caucus I mean speaks for anybody's free to say whatever they want but he leads the caucus, right? He's been the leader of the caucus since they started in in. January with the new session if you will of the Monroe County legislature. At any rate he's again, like I said African American guy. Well the Morelli legislators who are all Caucasian, which I don't care whatever color you might be, but you got the Morelli legislators and they are pushing to have. Vince. FELDER removed as a minority leader, right? I. Mean they're all hanging up the black lives matter banner from the library and stuff. But apparently, black legislators don't matter and anyway the point is that they want to push him out. The and they want to replace him with one of their own who will. be again Morelli Person. What probably is going on behind the scenes here and what probably is behind Adam bellows. Press release, we talked about a few minutes ago about redistricting. Monroe County. Is that the Republicans have a slight majority. In the legislature and when they after the census re district you know draw the new lines or keep the lines whatever they do It's very likely that Adam bellow will veto whatever they come up with because Yeah. Because Morelli tolling too. But the reason Morelli will tell him to is because they're democrats and these other ones are Republicans and you know cats and dogs whatever like that. So the deal is that if it's just Republicans versus Democrats than there aren't enough votes to ride the Morelli veto of this, and so they'll have to be negotiations between the Republicans and Morelli to come up with you know what the new county legislature lines will be. However. Vince. Foster. And some of the other Democrat Democrats who are people of color I hate to rebut there the white ones who are with morality and there are the non white ones who are a lot more open and such. But anyway, the some of the non white ones have worked including a leader felder on a on A. A variety of things. They've done some bipartisan stuff, right which is good and interesting because forever the legislature has always been all the Republicans vote that way all the Democrats vote that way and there was no true legislation there was no. But this way if if if the Non White Democrats think that the Republicans have a good idea they'll. They'll. They'll vote with it right and if the Republicans think that they've other ones got a good idea, we'll great. Let's do something together. Let's let's co-sponsor it. So there a working relationship between the people of the Democrats of color in the legislature and the Republican majority. And the deal is that if Morelli Vetoes The redistricting plan the Republicans come up with if the five Democrats of Color side with the Republicans in the veto override than than the new lines stand, which means this that when redistricting happens the Republicans and the Democrats have color are gonna be the ones who are going to decide where the line is because if they stick together, they will able to override the Morelli, a veto and will be able to get the lines that they want, and so that's really got the White Democrats bent out of shape right now. Because they are afraid that they and their Daddy Morelli are GonNa get shut out and that makes them very upset and so what they're trying to do is knock over Vince felder now and try to frighten the Democrats of Color into toeing the line in doing what Morelli tells them to do. So that's kind of how it stands and you know I'd say stand back and watch you know I don't live in this county and you know whatever but I do like it. When here's thing I'm always for the underdog. and. When the guy who's the big king of the world gets kicked in the CROTCH I I'll be honest with you I kinda I kinda like it and folks who really didn't have a voice to be honest with you. The Democrats have color in the legislature the they're not getting the time of day out of Morelli Democrats if they can work with the Republicans in the legislature and get things that are important to them, I think that's how democracy works and that's.

"Will they got their jobs by representative of those people. They've kept their jobs by being representative of those people, and if they want to keep their job after redistricting, then they need to conduct themselves in an appropriate fair of fashion. Right And they say, well, it's not fair because like one party has more people and so like they might set it like they have an advantage. Let's just stop for a second. One the numbers Monroe County legislature are very, very close right is not some big whopper advantage, but I as will typically be in a body with an uneven number of members there will be more of one team than the other. That's not a function of oppression. That's a function of the People's choice. If, there are x number of tea may and some other number of team be. That's because that's what the people decided when they went to vote. And if the people should give. Control to one party or another or at least a slight advantage to one party or another is that not the reflection of their wishes as expressed at the last election day when you picked your people. Also. The hypocrisy of Adam? CUOMO's move here is that we're about to have redistricting for the state legislature and for the United States House representatives. He has nowhere never called for any sort of a commission independent commission like this in regard to those redistricting because his party, the Democratic Party controls lock stock and barrel that entire process where he has the advantage. He is against independent commissions where he had does not have the advantage. He's in favor of independent commissions, which makes me think that the motivation may not be principle it may be self interest and you know I. I don't know that either world ought to bow and scrape before a Andrew Bellows self interest. So anyway, he is called for and I hope that it is dead on arrival. At the Monroe County legislature he may send out press releases and the future saying is said this that and the other, and that'll be fine as long as we don't do this that and the other I think we will avoid running into a brick wall and the end of the day. Even though the people. Have selected more Republicans and Democrats you know neck. So actually my some more support they might choose more Democrats and Republicans fine but the principle ought to be the same always in the principle ought always to be that important decisions in our society are made by elected representatives. Right elected representatives because we selected them and they reflect us and because if we like them, we keep them and if we don't, we vote him out. That's what the founding fathers came up with. That's what has advanced our liberty low these many years, and that's still the way we should do business even if it doesn't support the political interests of the coma rally a fellow cabal back with you in a moment on Newsradio wham eleven eighty. They come from all different places and such like that. And of course, creating the impression of effectively making the statement that black people or some monolith they are all the same. That view is You know kind of reinforced a little bit by some voting practices of African Americans in they overwhelmingly do vote for. Democrats but here's the deal America's such a big wonderful country that there's nobody who's like the same everyb-. Individually obviously different but anytime, you put people in a group rent a basket. There's a really good chance that your MIS perceiving error and Joe Biden said was was wrong the I mean, you're GonNa have to decide if it was ignorance or prejudice or whatever else. But what he said was inaccurate but here's the deal both parties operate on the assumption that it's true. What Joe Biden was saying is what all the big political bosses think men by big political bosses I mean at the top of their national parties. the Democrats presume that black Americans are impoverished urban progressives and they create a bill of goods that they try to sell to those desires knowing that they're getting all the votes Republicans presume that all black Americans have no interest in conservative patriotic self reliant strong defense principles, and so they just walk away. Both are making errors anytime. You think of any group of people as a group is a good chance. You're screwed the pooch news with Joe ask, then you on newsradio Cam Eleven. Eighty.

Taking it out from behind closed doors and removing those with a vested political interest. In the outcome, they haven't unnecessary comma after vested not a big deal probably call it the the fancy comma they got people brag about anyway he goes on to say that instead of having elected members of the county legislature draw the lines for county legislative district boundaries. Instead he wants a commission of special people to do it It would be to commissioners the Monroe County Board of Elections Oh two retired judges who live in Monroe County want to be appointed by the top Republican legislature the other day by the top Democrat in the legislature. two representatives recommended by judges aren't political, right? Because they get those jobs by taking the sat test and we rank them according to score. Don't they or do they just ran a campaign with the political party? Whatever because judges aren't political two representatives recognized by I public. By. Publicly recognized organization committed to voters rights. Gets that's legal in voters right which is Democrat right am I is that right? That's true okay. to representatives of a publicly recognised organization committed to the rights of racial or ethnic minorities, women persons who identify as Lgbtq or persons with disabilities. Okay. So Is that does that where the NRA representative goes in there? I'm not sure who are civil rights whenever anyway the point being. You, vote for somebody and then they decide and if they screw the pooch, you kick their ass out next election day and may be because they're afraid to have in their ass kicked out next election day they don't screw the pooch. Rights called out accountability and it's accountability to whom accountability to you. Because this is your country and if you live in Monroe County, this is your county you own it. Right. and. What you don't want what happens when you create these independent commissions. Notice they're stacked with people who lean to the left. Right the the the the gay rights in the racial rights and all those organizations wonderful relations with needful love them support them but they all leaned dramatically to the left, right those are Democrat organizations and the other is the voter interest groups. Yeah that's League of women voters, and that's a Democrat organization. Okay. So. So what he's done here is he has created a situation where it will be stacked with people who lean to the left and you know that might bother you if you lean to the right, but the whole concept should bother you if you believe in electoral accountability. Right you want to have elected people decision on your behalf. You want elected people making decisions on your behalf because they are two things representative and accountable. They the elected people don't represent this group that organization or this agenda they represent the people of their district. That's the American way, and so they.

"A superintendent were good. We'll figure it out and that's true for every other district. Monroe County should really focus on the challenges of Monroe County and leave the others alone, and the city of Rochester should really focus on the issues, the city Rochester and leave everybody else alone. This is not enmity. It's difference right? The lifestyle, the culture, the attitudes, the priorities of people I in in many communities all across the region, they're very different, right? Why we have local self-government and it is just as wrong for Rochester, Monroe County de to be dictating policy to this vast region as it is for new. York, city to be dictating policy to all of new. York state, it is an active arrogance and be quiet about that. A again. Kovic were all going to get scolded. We're GONNA, get another Mendoza lecture. Do we wear it when we start wearing goggles? I went to George Washington. University and I was thinking of going to law school after it was actually. One of my dad's campaigns. That stopped me from going to law school because I was helping out on his campaign, I didn't have time to study for the L. set, and so I said Hey, let's apply for a White House Internship I. I absolutely I think that goes for not just the president for anybody I think you know it's hard to serve you know under you know. 'cause I mean government can be long hours. The White House I was usually got their own seven, thirty, eight am and I was leaving at. One or two am every single night and I was coming in on weekends, and so that that sort of you know schedule, you can only do for someone that you really believe in.
