How ACT up Changed America

"There was a new activist group in new york city called at up and they held weekly meetings on monday evenings at this place called the center an lgbt community nonprofit in the west village at the time it was a crumbling old school paint was peeling off the walls and it had never been rehabbed. That is sarah schulman. She's a writer activist and she joined. Act up in nineteen eighty-seven and you know. Even that building was raggedy those meetings. They were really something else was hanging around to center on monday and there was a lot of noise coming from room. One no one. Because i saw so many people there i knew you know something really big guy. Not the feeling of act up in its heyday when the room is packed. And the weather's nice and meeting spills out into the courtyard and there's all kinds of cruising going on in eye-catching in chatty nece says that vibe was the key to the group's impact. I think any political movement for to be successful has to be a place that makes the participants lives better. If you're just joining a political movement out of some kind of sense of responsibility in burden it's not gonna work and that's why emma goldman famously said if i can't dance it's not my revolution so active was a dance. You know it was a place that was life-affirming. It was sex positive. It was all about being effective and it was filled with very young people who are very energetic and desperate for change.

Here's The Deal With The United Center Vaccination Site In Chicago

"Let's start with governor pritzker. This is what he had to say today about. The vaccine roll out in illinois has neighboring michigan announces. That it will open. Vaccinations everybody starting. In april as we have promised here in illinois and as we have been promised by the federal government that we would reach one hundred thousand doses per day by the middle of march. We've arrived mike flannery. The president says everybody's going to be eligible by may first governor pritzker says we're game here in illinois. Do you believe it i do. I think they the after a rough start. I talk peres. Says a guy who went around to the walmart and cvs is and the to supercenter over one hundred eighth woodland asking. Have you got any leftover back. Seen vaccines for the poor. Things have really gotten a lot better. I've got both my doses of the pfizer vaccine. I think this thing is finally on track. And i see mike flannery down there in beverly get your green tie in the irish flag. You're getting ready for a certain holiday in a few weeks. Megan hickey there's been a lot of confusion at the united center about who exactly has been eligible. The city has changed. Its eligibility standards because so many folks from outside of chicago or signing up as of now who is eligible to get the vaccine at the united center right now. They're still in the one. A one b Young people within the city limits and really the rules changed in the middle of the game because obviously when people started signing up it was a much broader eligibility than that and that was honestly source of a lot of confusion over the weekend and even into monday and tuesday because you know the the eligibility requirements changed in a lot of the people who maybe were outside of chicago who had signed up. Were confused they do. What does my appointment still count. If i go there you know my still going to be able to get my second dose. Are they going to say good luck. Find it somewhere else so there were just a lot. We were getting a lot of confusion about that and you know that on top of some scheduling issues. People getting error messages when they were trying to sign up. You know saying oh no actually. Your appointments been rescheduled and then another email saying disregard that that email was was not It's not accurate so meghan or those. Yeah i'm still ongoing. Or if they have the iron those out we're hearing less you know less confusion about it. I'm i'm not certain that it's been entirely ironed out. I know we asked how many people got error messages. How many people were involved in that which we never actually got a hard number on that but just being out there. I was at the united center. Monday on tuesday monday. Even before you know nations had started a lot of people were complaining about that. But i will say once. They made their way through the vaccination processing came out on the other end. They were so grateful and hopeful and almost had forgotten that they were so Set before they had gone into. Get their shot in greg pratt part of this roll out. The city says now they will be reaching out to the hardest hit zip codes to urge people to come to the united center to get their vaccination. Is that helping at all. drive up the equity numbers. Yeah i think so. I think the making it eligible for neighborhoods like south shore little villages. Ellison is is clearly going to drive that up there are people from those neighborhoods who are signing up for it I think that that's been very helpful. That was major problem in the beginning. It's less of a problem but it's probably one of those things that without more. Without ongoing targeting an ongoing efforts aimed at reaching those communities can very easily all off. Which would be bad. So it's so it's so they're they're working consciously work on an and that's probably a good thing

Chicago school district cancels some in-person classes as labor dispute flares

"Person. Classes were canceled again today for chicago. Public school students who were attending in person. This as the battle over school reopening is being fought between the district. The teachers union prekindergarten and special education cluster. Students were given the option to come back to the classroom earlier. this month. looming over the standoff is the threat of another teacher strike as the two parties are over. Covert nineteen vaccination plans cleaning protocols and even which data in science should guide the reopening process. About an hour ago. I spoke with mayor lori. Lightfoot and schools chief janice jackson. I began by asking dr jackson. How close is the district to a deal with the teachers union. And what are the major sticking points right. Now as i've said this week we are trying our best to make progress. I think there's no reason why we can't have a deal in cr students back in the classroom on monday. I know so. Many students and parents have expressed our excited. They are about that opportunity. So that's what we're planning for a with regards to the union. I think some of the sticking points that we've been talking about or the past few weeks related to testy vaccination and accommodation still are outstanding on. But we're going to continue to work car because we know what's at stake in. That is making sure our kids get a quality education mayor or jackson at what point does either or one of you arrive at the bargaining table to close the deal. Well i think we've got to make more progress grants. I think it's important for your listeners. To know that since june we've met with the t to now over seventy times. It lasts two weeks every day including saturday and sunday. The schedule time is from eleven to five every day and we would have expected by now to make a lot more progress in the last week alone. We've given them to different on comprehensive plans one plan which we updated and we've given them. I think that covers every single issue. Eight different issues from ventilation testing to plans and protocols what happens if there is a a positive tested linked to schools. So we're serious and we're going to be made it table but we've got to see some progress it. We've got to see a series of purpose on the other side. For example today we got a proposal from the other side. Include things like defunding. The police and having the cpu dictate housing policy in the city. Now obviously neither of those things is appropriate for bargaining on teachers contract. So we need them to get serious to come to the table. We can get a deal done. I am confident that we can. We keep waiting and hoping that we're actually going to have some issues that we agree on the issues that we've been talking about now for weeks. We still don't have agreement on a single one of those issues and every other bargaining experience. I've been in both as mayor but also in my private sector life. You focus on an issue you resolve it and then you move onto the next issues. We haven't been able to do that with you. Which frankly to that by since there is no deal you know. Kindergarten through eighth grade did have the option of returning starting this monday. Do have the option Starting this monday to be back in the classroom but even a large group of aldermen have called on pushing that date back a week. Dr jackson is that something you'd consider to avert a strike and get a deal done in the interim. Yeah as i stated earlier this week we remain steadfast in the fact that schools should re-open for students on monday february first. So we're still there. We're committed to that date. I think that the district has gone above and beyond from a planning perspective as well as all of the planning that has been happening for local school level. We have proven let us not forget. School has been in session with ask three weeks with students in our cluster program in students in our pre k. program in we have been successful. We plan for various scenarios we to implement our plans with fidelity. We know that we can do that for our kindergarten. Eighth grade students nets. Will we intend to do starting this monday. Even if i can add brandis. Let's let's also know that we're we're talking about this in the context of case rates dropping acitivity rates dropping. All of the metrics that we follow. We've been following since march of last year or all trend in the right direction and to those automated said. Let's kick the can down the road and get more time seventy times that we've met multiple times over the last two weeks we can get a deal done on a purpose and putting our kids i at the table and they have that faye mayor's was just going to add. That said you know this was calling for teachers to be vaccinated more teachers to be vaccinated before a reopening. Why not what. What could happen if you just wait for that. We have a. We have a comprehensive plan for getting teachers vaccine which we've had on the table for quite some time. Obviously gotta do it in the context of the reality of the limited supply of vaccinations at all the other. Frontline workers who've actually been outlawed in the grocery store worker sanitation librarians. I mean the list goes on and on absolutely we want to prioritize. I'm teachers and we have a plan to do that but we need to get a deal done. We need some movement in

House delivers Trump impeachment article to Senate, setting stage for trial

"The second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump is underway after House managers delivered the article of impeachment to the U. S Senate Monday evening, charging him with incitement of insurrection over the deadly attack on the U. S. Capitol, Donald John Trump engaged in high crimes and misdemeanors. By inciting violence against the government of the United States. Maryland Democratic Congressman Jamie Raskin serving his house impeachment manager and reading the charge on the Senate floor, But the trial won't begin in earnest for another few weeks, a pause allowing more time for preparation. Some Republicans say it shouldn't be happening at all. Now that he's out of office. This can happen. Anytime of political party has a majority. And there's no time limit. There's no statute of limitations. That would mean that the new precedent set is that next time Republicans were in power they could reach back and impeach a former Democratic president, Texas Senator John Cornyn, also taking issue with the push to prevent Trump from ever seeking office again if convicted by the Senate. But Democrats say the former president must be held accountable and the trial will move forward even is President Biden tries to accelerate the fight against Cove it and find common ground on more covert relief open to changes in his proposed package. I prefer these things to be bipartisan, because I'm trying to generate some Census and take sort of the How can I say it vitriol out of all of this, But he's already suggesting that just because of Bill passes along party lines doesn't mean there isn't unity. In addition to being a source of friction, the impeachment trial will take time and conviction would take much more than a party line vote in the divided chamber days after January. 6th. It did look like there was no mentum. Among Republican senators to convict President Trump. John Roberts is co anchor of America reports on the Fox News Channel. The White House was concerned that the numbers could be high enough for their actually to be a conviction. Which would have meant that 17 Republican senators would have had to vote in favor of convicting President Trump. But since then, the mo mentum toward a conviction among Republicans has waned to a large degree, and now the momentum is actually swinging the other way. Pendulum has now moved toward declaring this process to be unconstitutional. This idea of holding a Senate trial for a president who is no longer in office and adding to that is this idea that the chief justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts, will no longer be presiding over the trial that will now fall to the Senate. President Pro TEM Senator Pat Leahy from Vermont, all of which taken together adds to this growing idea in the Republican Party that this is an illegitimate process that this is being done on Lee for political reasons. It's on Lee being done to punish President Trump and really doesn't hold any validity in terms of whether or not President Trump will continue to hold office. What about the big picture here? And the political calculus for Mitch McConnell, who's now the Senate minority leader again? Um, because some analysts have pointed out that he seems to be treating this impeachment differently than the last one. You know, as if he feels it's more credible or at least that's how it seemed initially. Um are they reading too much into that? Or is he you know, does he have sort of an ulterior? Agenda here. Mitch McConnell was going further than I've ever seen him before, in terms of what might happen if there were to be a in impeachment trial in the Senate, suggesting that he was really trying to make a break and President Trump But in the days that followed that, really now, the weeks that followed that McConnell seems to be taking a different tack. I have been told by sources in Congress that McConnell, Maybe one of the people whose coalescing around this idea that this is impeachment trial is not constitutional. I don't want to say that he thinks it's a legitimate but not constitutional, and that the president has already left office. I think there's been a bit of a change in position for Mitch McConnell. What about pressure on the new president to sort of not interfere and let this trial happen? However, the Senate wants that to happen. Because it's clearly been at least slow down portions of his agenda just as he's trying to do as much as he can as fast as he can. Right. There's no question that a Senate trial Is going to affect Joe Biden's agenda and how quickly he gets his confirmations die. How quickly he could get some of his signature legislation through that, said Joe Biden is a you know an alumnus understand it. He knows that the Senate Act is an independent body. It's been said that there are 100 presidents that inhabit the Senate. I mean, clearly they are of their own minds. So for a president to say, Well, this is how I think the Senate should do. It is not gonna fly very well on Capitol Hill. So is a student as an alumnus. Understand it. Biden. I think his wisely stepping back to say, Look, this is your deal. You handle it. You handle it The way you will atone east in the public statements. I wouldn't be surprised if behind the scenes in private. He is raising some concerns about what might happen in the next few weeks in the Senate, but but clearly he's he's taking a step back to say. San. It's an independent body. I'm not about to tell them what to do, because if he were, he would likely get some blowback from them, and he definitely needs to send it if he wants to get his agenda troop I know you've covered the White House for a long time help big of a contrast is the start of this administration compared to the start of the Trump administration. Yeah, it's markedly different from from from out of the gate with the Trump administration. We were going 100 Miles an hour on the roller coaster and that never stopped. Even if you look to the very first briefing was Sean Spicer, where Spicer came out and and ripped the press for allegedly lying about the numbers of people who went to the inauguration all the way up until the last press conference from Keighley back in it, they were contentious, combative affairs. That really sort of was the hallmark of the Trump administration that it was a contentious, combative administration. This administration is much more located. Briefings are cordial. I don't want to say they're collegial, but they're definitely cordial, even though I think Jen Psaki is getting some more pointed questions, and she wasn't the first couple of great things, and I think that that's the way that this administration is going to progress. It will be a kind of a Let's get business done type of administration, as opposed to this grand show that President Trump in that shed, though I think that Joe Biden does face some headwinds in terms of getting his agenda through because he is beset with a number of different crises, and now he owns them. He's the president.

"We are calling it a Monday evening schmooze and no from the 1877. 3376666 And, of course, taking a right up until the terrific J. J After dark. It one. Let's go to Joel calling from Kobe. Joel. Hi, Steve. Let me talk to you for some time and whose fault is in Santa Monica for 3.5 months. Santa Monica. It was allowed in vacation beach was open for four or five days. They closed it down. They reopened it. They shut it down on your Yeah, listen. Well, I I understand. I mean things. Things open too soon and there are two Go go back and write. You know California initially was doing so well and then they had a lot of cases in the past couple of months, and especially You know, in Southern California, right? Yeah. Well, that was 11 Spade. Texas was another state ordered another stone. Yeah, well, but I heard some good news earlier. Of today, and that was a 25 states out of the 50 on the decline with the virus and the cases being reported, so that is very good. Steve Steve going to get onto my favorite sport. Baseball. Yeah, You know, I'm the biggest team it in the world next to you, right? Yeah, yeah, not correct you but I'm telling you softly on year. God, MLB over the last three or four season schedules done in a winter, of course, right? It was two or three weekends. And nor does two weekends in 2019 season one in the 2018 season, where both New York teams were on the road. On a weekend. Okay, well, that it all in the past three years, you know, I mean, whoever makes up by the schedule I mean, you can't figure it out. No, I can't. So I mean it is. What if you've heard this line before? It is what it what it is. You said that most recently. Yeah, Yeah, right, right. Yes. I do not go along with the 60 game season. Well, how could you not? I? Why? Because it's sacred. I mean, the game of baseball is sacred. Of course, In the old days, there was 154 games now it's 160 told Steve a 60 game season, a truncated season. You're talking about serious, doc told But baseball I mean, yeah. What would you see what I understand what you're saying, but it's water than nothing. It's better than nothing. You really think so? Yes, of course. Absolutely. Right. Well again, you could make the argument that from a from a safety point of view, not having A sport and a bubble is a lot riskier. Then that what we are seeing with like the N B, A and the NHL. Nobody has tested positive. I got well, but yeah, but alright, we differ. And I respect what you have to say. I just don't agree with you at all. I want based equalized call. I thought he was on 13. 40 minutes. All your your well, okay. I mean, he's arrogant Papa. He knows everything. That's okay. You're right. Well, eh, He's Harv ALS and write to glow a little bit. But no, no, I'm I'm I'm having this camp and I don't think of the only one, of course. I wanted a baseball even in a bizarre, so real fashion better than nothing to me. But what about the world champion? I mean, the eventual oiled champion of the ghost at four. I mean, there'll be an asterisk next to Doyle champion Gonna literally like two more good point of view. Well, yeah, going Are they going toe have the chutzpah. They're going to have the chutzpah Tohave M v p And my young ward out. Yeah. And batting crown handed out in a port 60 game season. That's after nine. Well, Okay, well again, you could have been watching. You just won the World Series. Well off the main ice and again it's not going to happen because the owners love him. No. Come on. Now You're throwing out the second spirit. See Harry Reid? No, no, There are a lot of fans and teams. That envy and hate the Yankees around the country. No, no Major League Baseball needs the Yankees. That's for sure. But they're not going to put listen the Yankees with all their injuries to me. They're the best team right along with the Dodgers, and that was the preseason British computer is completely useless. As far as I know. No, no, he's he got off to a good start. He is just too injury prone. That's is now you're here being a rational you know you're not being a rational are the you are the bomb. You are one hell of a long time that stand get off to advance Start. We're talking about a season that started when, well, you know, listen. Well, I gotta let you go. Well, your comments are on the record. You know, I think you're talking about Ozzy. I think you and as he smoking the same thing, but the bottle of line whether there's an asterisk there or not. It is what it is, and every major league baseball team is going at it and and whoever ends of winning the world Siri's will win. In the most bizarre, most surreal, most science fiction kind of baseball season we've ever seen, but I would rather have it this way, then not not at all. I wass and let me use the word buffer. And what a bummer it Wass with no baseball this weekend, and I mean, I was so anxious to see the Mets and the Yankees. Go at it for the three games. It was going to be fun. I'm one of those fans that enjoys and just loves and looks forward. You know to the subway. Siri's, even if some Yankee fans hated Or some metropolitan fans hated. I don't I love the business. With the two teams coming from one city getting together. It never gets old May. Now I understand the novelty has worn off. It's no longer You know, I'm sure there are going to be metropolitan vents, saying I'd rather take on teams in my own division, especially if I have some catching up to do. I'm sure some Yankee fans would rather the same if they were wanting to take on the the Baltimore Orioles more than the metropolitans. I'm just saying. It's teams. They're the best team. You know, in the American League to me, I mean not space you could talk about Tampa Bay could talk about Oakland, You could talk about Minnesota in Cleveland, please. But the Yankees of Healthy now could they lose two out of three. That's why it's important that they get themselves. The best record where those two out of three are going to be at the place next door in the Bronx. But I'll take it asterisk. You want to put.

"Glad to be with you on a Monday evening, and Glenn to see actually that creepy. Joe Biden is way ahead in the polls for the Democrats because that's going to leave them with a very very tough choice. You see I think a lot of the party wants to go a whole lot farther to the left than Joe Biden is Joe Biden strength. Of course meeting is that he might actually be the best candidate to run against Donald Trump. Although I think Trump is going to win handily in the fall of next year. I thought we talked about that with Liz Harrington who's a spokeswoman for their RNC. Liz, welcome back to the program. Now, I know that some people have been a bit surprised when they read about Joe Biden, they're getting a little curious about the guy, and you know, they they didn't really pay much attention to him. He was the the number two to Barack Obama. But I've had some of the right to say gosh, this guy's he's got a net worth of nine hundred thousand dollars, which is a lot of money, but among his colleagues on Capitol Hill and in government in Washington DC, he's he's a piker by comparison. And he's out there portraying himself as a champion of the working class. Does he have the credentials to actually own that title? I would say definitely not because this is a guy as you mentioned in the swamp for forty four years, and he's always claimed to be to take the mantle of for the working class people. The what is he ever actually done for the middle class? And if you look at his job in the Obama administration, he was the one who was in charge of the stimulus plan that they promised would create one million jobs, and it didn't. So then the recovery summer when it didn't happen. They change the metric on of jobs created or saved the recovery was so it under Joe Biden and Barack Obama, and they ended up at the end of their two terms saying those jobs jobs were never coming back. And so now for him to try to take credit and. Others alumnus of the bomb years trying to say, oh, we got the train rolling. They never got the economy rolling. They did not rebuild the middle class plummeting manufacturing jobs disappeared by over to over two hundred two hundred thousand in just two years alone. We've already created. Million manufacturing jobs. So when Joe Biden present his manufacturing with eight rail that never happened. He ever did anything for the middle class. He just didn't you know lose? If there's one thing that fits right into that that I wanna keep reminding people, and I've been doing it on this show all the way through a bomb the the recession officially ended. According to the economists they define a recession as two quarters of negative growth, it officially ended four months or five months into Barack Obama's term in June of nine I mean, he'd only taken the oath of few months earlier, and when they say, well, you know, he brought us out of the recession then the recession ended before his presidency really began. He takes the oath of the end of January and a couple of months later, the the recession ends not because he was there because recessions start, and they also tend to end, even if the government does nothing, you know, the government can can make them last longer. But then for the next eight years or seven and a half years the economy was was, you know, not exactly chugging right along and in the lab. Last year of Obama, the GDP number actually fell to around one percent. I think it was even at point nine in the last quarter of sixteen heading into the Trump presidency. So when people said see he had to taking off we'll know it ended ended in the summer of oh nine and by the end of sixteen. It was actually falling. It had fallen from higher numbers to lower numbers. And then the minute Trump became president. It took off like a rocket and for reasons we can define like a promise of lower taxes, certainly lower regulations. A more aggressive approach on energy, all solid reasons. If you say how did Barack Obama bring about the end of the recession? I'm not sure what anybody can point to. Well, we borrowed a trillion dollars almost a trillion. We spend thirty four million on bridges and roads and the rest of it. They can't even tell you where the rest of it went. In fact, that'd be a great question to start asking Kennedy Joe. So where did you spend that you know, almost nine hundred mil a billion dollars where to go and what what can you? Point. Rambling story about how they used it to get people from the quote hood to code street lights on. I mean this guy. Is he is he gonna start referring to people as clean and articulate that. That's not a good place for Joe to go. He's going to have a really a big problem in this primary, but you're right. The policies of Barack Obama and Joe Biden or so anti-business they were so the load the economy down and the economy. Normalizes market correction happens. Right. But they delayed the gross because all they did was add hundreds and hundreds thousands even regulations to the books to make it more. Burdensome. Extremely high. They didn't none of their business, and none of their policies kick. Started the economy that we know that the bigger government is the partner it is to grow the economy and all the President Trump, and the Republican agenda has accomplished and done is because it's getting the government out of the way letting Americans go back to work the numbers with the job. The job numbers are incredible because people coming off the sidelines labor force. It was almost three quarters of the March job growth all from people who were re entering the labor force that had left wages rising again for the most bottom the lowest income monitor actually double the wage growth as their supervisors and the one on top. So. Did was make America a good investment. Again. Get it. Get government out of the way. Let business come in bring jobs back from overseas and Democrats trying to pour cold water on this economy and trying to say that. Oh, well, the tax cuts is limited affect it. That's not true. We're going to see it from years getting that corporate rate and getting all the business rates lower. We're gonna see that for another four years. He has a great story to tell Liz. And I know you're going to be part of selling that, thanks so much for the time tonight. Genesis spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, by the way will invite the Democrats on. I would love to hear how they try to spin this one to help out old crazy Joe, by the way mothers day coming up. There's absolutely nothing. Most of us wouldn't do to make sure the special moms and our live RAFI. Now, my wife Tina is both a mom and a grandmother to little Payson who just turned three years old and Tina cares about her children, and our family more than you could ever imagine. So every year, I work hard to try to find a great mother's day gift one that shows how special I think she is this year, I'm going with Sheri's berries Sheri's berries has special mother's day berries designed just from on. Now. Here's the way they are. They're topped up with chocolate chips and pink shimmer sugar..

"Monday centering on the thirteenth place team in the NBA as Western Conference. The pelicans for sixteen out of a playoff position. That's coming up. But Monday evening, it was the top two teams in the Western Conference making the headlines in lead different games. Number one. The warriors and may roll again, five seconds left. Step will bring it across the time. I've sucker watching him step back three thirty. Wow. Sixty nine forty eight nine first half performance from Steph ninety five seven the game. Steph curry twenty six points six of eight from three point range his seventh consecutive season with two hundred three point field goals. Warriors who want to beat the Pacers one thirty two to one hundred their eleventh consecutive victories, the longest win streak in the NBA. This season warriors have scored one hundred and twenty nine points per game over that win streak for coach Steve Kerr, we've been more dialed in the last month for sure all season for much of last season. Even you can just see, you know, the the turnovers you're down or just more conscientious has a group and guys are moving the ball, thirty nine assists tonight. So. We're in a good groove or in a good place to keep it going. Warrior for their tenth straight road win next longest streak in the NBA is five of ten straight on the road eleven straight wins overall. They haven't lost. It's a one point defeat to the rockets. January fourth ESPN warriors reporter, Nick Fidel. These guys were pissed off after everybody had been getting their shots in and the talk all around this team was all this could be it. The breaking point is coming and from that point on Evan lost guys. Look back on that game. They got a little bit of a break in the schedule. Steve Kerr admitted that they caught some momentum. But they use that as the turning point in the last few weeks from that point on the offense has been rolling. They've been cooking defensively at a higher rate than we've seen and you get cousins back and all of a sudden you go. Yup. They're the team. We always thought they were and they're getting a lot of credit for adding cousins to this lineup. And it's not like they're trying to get you minutes at the five with all due respect. I mean, this is an all star player. Cousins. But at the same time he has gotten up to speed rather quickly more quickly than even they thought he might have. Absolutely Steve Kerr talked about it the last couple of days Scotty in that. They weren't sure how he was gonna fit in. They weren't. Sure. Yeah. How he was gonna fit in the locker room on the floor in the locker room. He's been great on the floor. He's gotten up and down at a faster rate than we ever would have thought when this started. He feels better. He got his rhythm early on with the rest of these all stars. And he looked around. He said, I can't mess this up. I know how talented this group is. But the key cousins is he provides a weapon for the warriors. They've never had you can get a guy the dumped the ball down low to on the blocks and he can score he can be a defensive presence. And then by the way, he can shoot three's too. I mean, it really is an embarrassment of riches, and I think the difference in the last few weeks is these guys look around. And they say, oh, yeah. We've got this. The only team that can. Beat us is ourselves. And if we keep rolling like this we're going to be there and again, and we're going to win another title five warriors in double figures in the win. Boogie cousins with twenty two. Kevin Durant had sixteen points. Snaps. His string of twenty two straight games with at least twenty points. So the warriors number one team in the west the number two team the Denver Nuggets they were on the road Monday in Memphis. Oh, all hostile for the grizzlies right there. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Everybody's kind of pepper nextstep tonight. Sixty seven forty five twenty five point lead a left wing green..

"Not sick of Brian. He's working his butt off. But we I had him on. I think today's in a row I had to give him a break because he's probably getting pulled in a million different directions. This is really step one of this thing. Right. So then Monday evening, apparently significant snow the term they're using right now signal that means they don't know how. Is trying to figure that so. Yes. Snow on Monday, measurable, snow will call it. And then on Wednesday the high on Wednesdays probably below zero record breaking lows on Wednesday. So if you didn't have school today, probably not going to have the kids aren't going to school. We don't have a show, right? Does that other logic works? We'll still be we'll still be here. You know, it's interesting when you when you I wake up early, and I know I don't want you to feel sorry for and this is the reality. I have a truck and I parked outside. This doesn't fit in the garage. All garage, nineteen sixties home didn't think of these big massive trucks. So it took a little bit to get a gone this morning, and that's a newer Chuck Chevy Silverado. Thank you. Hide your automotive. It's it's going to be a challenge a real challenge for a lot of folks next Wednesday when they wake up to some really incredible call now the thing that's going to be interesting. Also is maybe the wind won't be as bad. That'll keep the wind chills up because if out. I mean, we could be talking. Well, I don't know what we've talked very very significant below zero wind chills. Thirty five forty forty five mean this dangerously cold. They've had the closures with the schools today. Also, all the automotive places are getting all kinds of calls. The tow truck groups out of Brown deer. AP talk to the owner and said that he'd gotten like forty to fifty calls before eight AM today, which is double at least what he normally would get on a cold day. I remember the days when I was younger when I has older vehicles, you know, ten year old home. And there was always something in the wintertime, your battery died the worst feeling when you just know you like man dread. Even going to the car to start it just because you're not sure if it's actually going to turn please please start please. Please. Yeah. And then they don't take forever to warm up and the end the old the old vehicles had had a lot of surface base inside of them. That's why again shameless plug have new vehicle you can you can start the start the engine his thank God for that. Thank God for that. Jordan says. The weather is going to be a challenge for all of us. You know, the snow is one thing you have snow and cold that makes it even tougher. We talked the other day about the jobs, and we had somebody call earlier in the show linemen guys, climbing up polls to restore phone service or power in some cases. We'll Spalding talked to a newspaper delivery guy. And that's like, apparently, it's even harder now because they only have four or five homes on the block that they are delivering to. So you have to stop get out walk around all the snow. Get it to the door walk up back to your car. They drive up another block in this weather. Here's here's the word. So when I was a real young lad, we had a paper out, this isn't cutting and the worst case scenario was snow and cold on a Sunday because you had to get to the to the place where they had the papers get them all assembled motormen your wagon to kind of take around what you're going through snow in a way against how that works. I love my dad, but he wasn't gonna drive us around. That's a whole different world. Now. Right. So the expectations of your parents do all that stuff for you. And to get these papers to these homes was like incredibly difficult and back then. That paper and heavy. I don't know what the poundage wasn't a thing. But they wait a lot. And if you through whether into the mix, sometimes frankly, not everyone got their paper. What did we decide? The worst job was the guy who called earlier and said that he was utility worker writing you climb up the polls view, I had a texture a police officer said, how'd you like to direct traffic in mind? That sounds awful. Typically, they don't they have the you know, the leather coats. But they don't have the big bulky stuff that you see a lot of folks who where there they're layered. Yeah. I was gonna say they have to have at least something to protect themselves. Don't think about law enforcement folks, public say anybody in policy if they have a lot of gear on them, right? Yeah. Which to it in grabbing? Yeah. Which gets cold and cold makes everything worse. I know I was at my PT appointment yesterday, physical therapist. She loves snow. She goes, this is potassium. Again. Go skiing loves it. I'm like I could do without knowing. It's like. Follow follow me here. It's it's like food. That's too spicy. When food is too spicy. You lose. All the flavor. All you're focused on is the crazy. He can't even enjoy. This is the same thing you go outside you want to enjoy the flavor of the snow, or whatever you can't. Because it's so darn cold your teeth hurt. And you can't enjoy it at all your distracted. I know a lot of guys that work in the dairy industry that listen to the show. What is what do they do with the cows stuff? Do they they gotta take them in. Right. Not in the fields with this stuff. I would think oh I need to hear from a dairy farmer. Hit me up in the academic is talking to four one four seven nine nine one six twenty. Do you Brehm in the Barner? They actually out in the fields in this LeMay.
