Golfer Rich Beem on Q School and Beer Guts
"Let's get back to our interview with rich. Beem in this time period q-school. How did that work is that? How is that what? Your Path was to the PGA tour or able to just signed straight up for Q-school. Did you buy the minor leagues? Basically did I literally went straight from the pro shop to the PGA tour? So I'd won the section the Section Assistance Championship in nineteen ninety. Eight and nineteen ninety. Eight is what I really start playing really good and I have no idea what it what. How old are you at that time? Then Ninety eight I would have been twenty eight okay. So you're not a young. You're not a young Modo outta college but but naive for sure and I'll get to more of that later on but I went to q school. I won the assistance championship and it used to be years prior. That would actually get you a bypass of going first stage. And and so I would have been exempted second-stage although in nineteen ninety eight. They took that out. They said Nope you. You still have to go to first day so I had to go through all three stages of Q-school and I ended up in first one was in Scottsdale at a golf course called talking stick Ben Ben Crenshaw bellcore design fantastic track but I had to shoot sixty seven the final day to make it through to make it through first Yup through I age and then the second the second one was in Houston on the final day I was in by about two or three going into the final round and I was to over through six holes and on the seventh hole. I had a shot with a wedge but in the rough and I thought Flyer no-fly I don't think flyer it was a flyer and I absolutely air mail the green by like thirty yards and I got no shot. I have zero shot so I get back over there I find it. I hit it back to the front of the Green. I got sixty feet left. I'm choking and a mad on the same breath I mean I can't control myself. I'm literally trying not to vomit because I know that making the finals is a big deal well before I even thought about it. I pull the trigger. Hit knocked it in and then birdied the next two holes in the night. I shot I. I shot seventy one and got through comfortably at the end of the day but there are some the pressure of the stories you hear about Q-school in about how much pressure puts on you. It's unbelievable because if you don't get through second-stage you've just wasted five thousand bucks you nothing you guys that you got no status anywhere and so that was a big deal. That was a huge deal for me. In fact I funny enough bill hyme who caddied for me for fourteen years and come back and county for me. When when I turned fifty he actually was same venue. He lost in a playoff back then. They had a playoff. He lost in a playoff to get to the finals and then he actually drove out to finals. In case anybody withdrew and finals he was the first alternate in. Nobody dropped out in you. Figure that out of the two hundred seven guys are at finals. Somebody one guy nothing. Nobody dropped out so Turned out to be in both of our favors because he had a great career together and he's one of my closest friends but it was pretty funny. How how that'll happen. And you make it all the weight. How many how many. I looked up your class right here on Wikipedia. You have forty one guys make it through. How many are you estimate? I don't know the answer to this. But how many are you? Estimating had to go through from first stage all the way through the. There's a few of them that had to come to be fair. I don't know what the I mean. You Bo Van Pelt Charles Warren Jeffrey Hart and Rio Bravo and David Seawall in Roy Sabatini David Zero. Pga TOUR STARTS HERE. The only guys on there that had needs zero. Pj torstar so my buddies that came out of that was Bo. Van Pelt. Brian Baird Bird. I got to be close with. Oh I'm drawing a blank. I can't believe I'm drawn blanks on this. I'm so bad with names. It's killing me but I you know there's a bunch of guys that I became you know just because we went through that process together. It really was one of those weeks where you just. Kinda put your head down and you just keep on going. I know Mike. We're want it Mike sposa. That's the guy that was going to expose him. Brian Baird just because we we hung out together when we because right after. You got your car. You went to a class and we went through media class which I think that everybody in the room. Everybody well I I know for me. Factually I didn't hear a single word at. I know that the big Gulp in my hand wasn't really a big old. It was a big but it wasn't. It wasn't as advertised. So what? Yeah what is your. What is your reputation. Did you have a partying reputation on a founded reputation? Well-founded yeah I'M NOT GONNA Deny I. It's it's interesting because I think that a lot of the guys in there it's true. I listened soon as I get done playing golf. I like to have beverage. I absolutely have to have a beverage. I'm not going to deny that one iota. It was kind of in the air though when tiger was kicking everybody's ass and workouts were becoming super popular fitness. All of that sports psychologist. I mean all of it was it was. You know that's how it was but I mean before the final round at the Kemper Open and ninety nine at a big old fat enchilada plate and four cores. Lights that my dinner. That was just how I didn't you know and I think a lot of times. It was frowned upon where in generation. Before that you know. It's kind of like smoking. Everybody everybody used to smoke Nobody smokes right. 'cause it's frowned upon. It's looked down upon right but I listen. It was good. I had some good times. There's no doubt about it you know and I was successful at what I did now. I did it so well you away. At least a lot of people were some people work. You need some sort of release. I imagine after Tournament Golf. So when I when I played in tournaments like Inbetween Rounds Dude. I need a drink after a grinding for four or five hours and I think that there's there's something to that. Yeah I think there's a lot to that. I think that there's I think for different people at it. You know having having a drink it's more psychological because I needed because I've got eighty and I needed a way to stop thinking about golf. I needed a way to sit there. And not fret over what my stroke or what. My swing felt like or anything like that. Because if 'cause I could sit there and just go nuts. I still do go nuts. I mean there's a lot of time laying in bed in the middle of the night and I'm literally thinking about my putting or I'm thinking about my chip. I'm thinking about something that has to do with golf. That's just the way mine works. You know after a while you just get tired of that. Sure you just get burnt out of thinking about it all the time. It just eats gnaws at USA for for me when it came to the PGA tour in tournament. Golf I mean listen I I. They're probably very few rounds very around probably more so today. I I don't have. I don't drink a lot when after I play golf. Just kind of getting to that age and my body just doesn't like it that much anymore but I just I needed to have something to kind of smooth me out because I was so high strung and listen to other people do it different ways some guys want to go do push ups some guys. WanNa go running. I liked the smell of of wooden barstools and inside of a sitting at the bar watching TV. Well I think that there's a lot of people out there that kind of long for those days on the PGA tour both players and fans kind of you know a Lotta people love the some of the beer guts and that kind of culture seems to have gone by the way word and would you say you were one of the guys that kind of kept that going into the two thousands and who were some of those guys would kind of more celebrate that lifestyle though the unfortunately he's not on tour anymore but Anthony. Kim was legendary. Yeah legend give me absolutely everything. You've got to be fair. I mean some of it. I don't quite recall but I mean I remember. I didn't even hang out with them. I didn't hang out with them a lot off the golf course. I think in. That probably was good for both of us because I think we would have enabled one another quite a bit but I mean I remember Vegas a couple of times and you just you. You hear the stories about you know. There was a five day event and he was out and he was legend. I mean he would. He would go hard and he was not afraid to spend money. I mean the kid was unbelievable. Talented player I mean. There's no doubt about it. And but he was he could go. There are some guys that could could fly. I mean I for me. It was more I actually would. I would have probably sit there with my caddie and hang out with my caddie more than even I'd probably go sit in the caddy room. Instead of hang out up in the in the players locker room I spent more time just going out today with my caddie than I did any other players but you know you could hear stories about some guys who like to go and some guys when I first got on tour. There's a few guys Ted purdy would. It was always fun. Hang you know especially when we had missed the cut. I mean Ted was always good to hang with. It's not like John. Daly ask you know where you would go and where you would just go into your ran into a wall. And then you'd back up and run through the wall and go. I mean it was in by our standards. It was fairly tame but just sitting around. Just having a giggle and and enjoying life and whatnot. Not Letting not letting anything get you down you know after misguide or or celebrating after after a nice week cabinet evidence solid week or something like that but you know there are some guys that that are very quiet about how they do it but I promise you there's guys out there that are right in the middle of it and they like to have fun. Well who's your caddy that you that it was at Steve. Duplantis Steve duplantis was my caddy for the Kemper. Open win he was my he was Caddy for me for probably about five months five months and I finally said I can't hang with anymore. Yes we're just a bad influence on each out part of it but I I think though in one of my rare mature moments. I figured that you know what probably needs somebody. That's a little more grounded and I went through probably three or four guys so I found the right one and then once I found the right
Samsung is Z FLIPPING out... and so are we
"Last week was not the heaviest heaviest news week. There were a lot of leaks in particular of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy. S Twenty s twenty plus as twenty ultra and By golly There are so many leaks of this phone that we're going to see in basically a week and I'm sure that everyone's really excited for it so I don't blame anybody for really going into the lakes and trying to get as much information as they can before unpacked But I'm going to be there in just over a week. Actually in San Francisco which is where unpacked. Is this time time but it seems that everyone else is just trying to get as much information as possible. I like to be surprised at these events. Actually trying my best not to look too far into into them a night anymore that I need to especially for the content that all eventually be making about the phones and it doesn't look like we're going to have to wait too long after unpacked to get our hands on the twenty s especially as consumers are able to preorder the phones right now like. Apparently there's already a page for people to start pre ordering an s twenty s twenty all trust when plus but we don't even really have concrete evidence of what the prices are going to be. The work of few tweets again little leaks from various places a couple of people said that t mobile representatives lives. Were telling them that it is going to start at nine thirty nine at a thousand dollars. That's the s twenty these smaller version. And then it's going to go up from there and any nine for the plus eleven ninety nine four the S. twenty Oltra so while we were all looking forward to phone starting to lower their price points insight as time went on it is that will be the case. And I'm actually not too surprised by this personally if this is the case because the note ten light and the S. Ten light are things like they are in existence and I wouldn't put it past Samsung to still go for the very high premium price price points on their flagship phones. And later on they're gonNA make like a s twenty lights. That's why I found it interesting. That even though the ten and the s ten e were interesting phones in in and of themselves even though everyone went for the ten plus generally That was the review units that we all ended up getting after all But yesterday was one of those phones that everyone was like really into because it did something a little bit different and it was more affordable. Now we don't get an S.. Twenty e we just get a regular s twenty then they went ultra with like the the crazy big version version of the phone That said later on. That's entirely possible that we're going to end up seeing something like an S. twenty light and honestly that's one thing that I'm really hoping to get my hands ends on pretty soon. Is the light models we did see them for a little bit at. CAS by even Samsung themselves are kind of being withholding when it comes to a release information on those this particular phones if I were to check real quick right now a lot of stories about the light models still don't have any price or release date information. The only thing we really know right now. Is that the headlight. Models have started to come up in India so that is kind of cool. That's something that literally happened at the beginning of this week which again. I'm happy that I kind of waited After this past Super Bowl weekend I'm not gonNA talk about the Super Bowl but that's what this past weekend was. I'm happy that I waited through the weekend before I did this. Episode because It's not that I knew there was going to be news coming out over the weekend but it just felt like the topic. I wanted to talk about on this episode from last week. kind of a heavy once. I wanted to give it some time and see what pieces of news. Mike come out that I have some opinions on and there was the Samsung Galaxy Z.. Flip was leaked on a video. Now this this is really interesting and is it is how going to lead this episode. Because I'm sure a lot of you want to hear some thoughts about these particular phones. The flip phones the smart flip phones the foldable. Whatever were you WANNA call them and as excited as I am for something like the Z flip and I know a lot of people out there are really jazzed about this form factor? One thing that I find interesting is that the foldable market seems to be so nizhny and while we were so excited for it from the galaxy full to the main ex To the to the modal razor which is starting to get into people's hands around this week and then finally them the Samsung Galaxy Z.. Flip which might be at unpack next next week. We're not too sure yet. It will be cool if it was or if it is What I find interesting is add the foldable foreign factor? Kind of dictates whether or not it's Ultimately useful so the types like the mate ex and the galaxy. Fold those make perfect sense from from a usability standpoint. Now I get that the screen on the galaxy fold is it's still not ideal the outer screen when you have the phone folded onto itself. I get that that screen is not really ideal but you do get a little bit of usability on there still and then when you open it up you you get a full screen that is bigger than what you would normally get on a smartphone. This is nothing that's new to anybody. I know a lot of people out. There are still opining over the the galaxy fold because what they really want is that larger screen form factor. That is possible that makes perfect sense to me but there's something that the clam shell. SMARTPHONES are starting to the show That might be their undoing. There are some Videos and pictures from maxine back over at X.. Da He's been running around just like he's been one of the main catalyst for Alavi leaks for Samsung phones for next week by the way he has also been just sort of running around and messing around with a lot lot of different phones especially the ones that are coming right now And he has a quite a bit of insight on all of this stuff in particular He went to take a look at a modal. Razor and uh-huh it's bold of this particular store to have put the motor razor on a stand Not just behind glass but like a demo unit that was there and that thing was destroyed Loyd and not only because people probably didn't know how to properly handle a phone like that with a screen that even moto themselves said has a bit of a bump to it or Bumps rather to it. There might actually be creases and curves to it because that's just the nature of the rather flexible display. They have on there Well I guess people were. We're just like digging their fingernails into it enough that eventually the screen just started to peel off and it just got really bad. The fact Motorola is even warning people about how to use the device. Outright doesn't bode well for that particular. Form factor now. The Motor Razor was exciting. It's still is and I would love to try it on myself. Early reports are not all that favourable at the moment especially considering that a phone like this with a twenty five hundred million power battery and The fact that has a flexible display mean that some some of the flagship phone experiences that a lot of us are. Let's just say use to. I don't want to say that we're all spoiled or anything. But we're all kind of used to these flagship phone experiences. Green says it's just not going to be the case in the razor. The specs are not really up to par. In that case the processor's not super powerful. The battery goes out in like three or four hours of screen time at the most host and then of course the screen is something you Kinda have to. You have to baby it a little bit. I do give the motorise or a little bit of credit because it has the screen on the cover which still allows you to do a few things especially when it comes to notifications. Maybe you can think of it. Like a smartwatch. Just on the outside of a phone perhaps But even though it gives you a little bit of of that connectivity and that type of usage you still need to open the phone in order to do literally anything else. And that's the reason why I might be a little bit skeptical all despite my excitement over the galaxies Z.. Flip see I actually have a lot of faith in Z.. Flip that it's not going to have the same problems as the modal razor at least problems that are. It's kind of conjecture but it's kind of clear that some people are having issues with build quality on those and if Modo has to come out and say it themselves well I mean that kind of is a precursor to a lot of stuff. Samsung on the other hand already went through their problems and when they sent out the original galaxy fold to a lot of people on his start to break. They addressed all of those issues. I got to see myself the updated version of the galaxy. Fold yes it did seem to be a sturdier device and a lot of the stuff was addressed so I imagined agenda that same level of thought is going to be put into the Galaxy Z.. Flip and that means. It's going to be a sturdy device but the form factor alone is more novel than it is useful useful in my opinion. See what the galaxy fold. You're not gonna like the outside scream but at least you can use it in that way. And then if you're just really into those big screens or if you just want I want to see how applications will start to adhere to the tablet form factor. More well then you have a tablet in your pocket easier to pocket and literally any other tablet in existence but the Z.. Flip is a smaller version of a current smartphone and were also used to having smartphones already That just being able to fold it down down is novel. It is useful from a USABILITY standpoint. But it doesn't necessarily add to its usability now. Don't get me wrong I know that probably Lee. Some people that I know and including Rodriguez or probably screaming at their Their audio systems right now. I mean because obviously one of the reasons why this form factor you were so important is because there are people out there who want to have smaller devices in general and then it'll become something like our current smartphones When they needed to be? That's it's perfectly fine. It's the same concept that I just presented with the galaxy. Fold where that person wants something. Bigger a tablet a big viewing experience and then they can use it when and they want to it's on demand It's just kind of funny to me. The two different ways of looking at foldable as this is an interesting dichotomy that we're starting to see right now. And the Z flip is going to further that at least in the case of deflate. You're not gonNA have as many problems as what the modal Razor Potentially the Z.. Flip is going to be as expensive though and I'm not looking forward to that but I can almost forgive it a little bit more because the galaxy fold has proven That there is some demand for that phone and the price point is not going to stop certain people I mean. Just look at any any of our friends on the tech twitter sphere and a lot of them have actually put on their own money to get the galaxy

Whenever a game gets delayed I think of that? She gave me a Modo quote. He's like a good game is one. That was probably delayed a couple times times and if a game was delayed indefinitely that means it's in trouble. Yeah right I mean what is like this game was supposed to come out in a couple of months and sometime sometime this year and anybody who has a Loosey Goosey Spring Two thousand twenty right now. That's not happening in La. And I don't get me wrong. I'm not guilty. Anyone for delaying their game. The other me. I'm a miyamoto quote writer. What a bad games? Bad game candidate or something that actually say the accident close. We've butchering says. Mario was was inspired by a carpenter. He saw dying a horrible accident and he imagined to himself. What if what if Mario and said was killed by a guerrilla grossness other quote was? Don't push let me push push pop. You know what I mean. That's me everybody is just like man last week Somebody somebody on the sub reddit screen shotted on Friday. All the Games daily's and I think it was. What four out of five were delayed? I bought a being delayed. What is it so far? Final fantasy seven remain go to YouTube dot com slash. Kinda Funny Games until you hold on one second Hebert pond seven eventers cyberpunk VR. I'm manvier that won't unhurt. We you know I hurt. Did they game yeah. You're right so yeah. Friday was iron man Thursday with cyberpunk Why is why is there? A Games Games Games cast in the Games daily playlist. We got to fix that That it was the Subaru world. You know the theme park then. It was final fantasy any delay. We go into the Japan. Drink Super Mario World theme park got delayed. No I'm just saying that it was like he's about thumbnails. Can you make video game amusement amusement parks without getting delayed I know well that'd be the accurate experience right it would be. What do you think's going on? Danny I've I've been mulling over this ever since I heard it like five minutes ago before the show started and my speculation is that this whole indefinite push will probably be like at the beginning getting of the playstation five an xbox series x launch. This game will come out now instead. closer to. I don't think I don't think it is. I think they're doing the same thing that cyberpunk is doing where they're trying to get closer to the new console release really quality related at all. You think it's getting giving I I don't I don't know I mean I'm not I'm not in their studios but if I was them and I knew now that I suddenly got the playstation five advocate and the xbox series Dev Kit and I was like oh no this can like run playstation four games so much. Well and it's it's it's never a copy and paste situation other so probably that thing where they do. Just WanNa take the extra time to make sure that it is excellent for the newer consoles. Yeah that's a better first impression. See I wholeheartedly disagree. But I do think that there's a sliver of truth on the marketing Publishing VP. Whoever up up the chain side? Because I think the developers need more time I I believe cyberpunk just is like Oh this is where we want it to be Tech Line is like this is not where we want it to be but I think when they go to their board of Directors or whoever they asked about this off right into the president and just like we need more time I think there is that sucks but people are going to be excited and if they can go back instead of instead of doing doing what final fantasy seven remake is doing where it's like. We're delaying for like a month. Because this is like not shaping up as well as we thought last minute. It's probably that thing where they are saying. We might as well. If we're going to push back push it is closer. The new console launches as as possible. Yeah it'll be interesting to see when we when we finally get at our president from xbox in place to handle the fact. Oh It's Christian. Incredibly ambitious games. Total cyberpunk twenty. Seventy seven is is very like one of the most ambitious games coming out this year and dying light to is bound more ambitious from what I've seen. Yeah Yeah that was where we came out of the whole decision of who you trusted. which if you did on the one side it would learn fled the city? And there's this brand new place to explore otherside you'll be the city flooded. I remember asking questions like if I leave the city flooded. Do I not see that world like yeah like gotten designer who sat there. Yeah backed out an entire city and they did all this work like fifty percents of the Gamers won't see that. Maybe I'm excited. I'm excited for it regardless whenever it comes

So I'm very busy. Okay Hey and our next expert is Carrie Mallon Carey. Can you please introduce yourself tobacco. Hi Becca I'm Carrie Mallon and I'm a coma creator. That means that I create anime aimed at young audiences like kids under the age of ten. I most famous for my character tools pup chime make youtube luke videos about Berry interesting Nazi shuts they have some food on a Hibachi or something Lisa I do and it's GonNa be delicious but also yes S. eight times that is that's right. That's when we put our experts on the hot seat while they answered questions Lisa. Who should we put on the hot seat? I I'm going to go with Kerry. Because she said she does stuff on Youtube and maybe if I'm nicer she'll introduce me to those people who do the youtube videos where they open up. All these videos may open up bags and you're like what's it going to be in that egg and then you get inside and it's a toy and you're like Oh my God. I love that tour. That sounds very cool. Can't wait to see that carry you GonNa Hook me up I'll I'll find out if I know anyone in the world very good. Okay Beck. I do have a question for Kerry A. K.. What exactly do you do What I do like on a regular day to day basis ACIS is computer animation of characters that I've created? I was really inspired when I was a kid by. Hello Kitty and so Tuttosport my character. There is a super cute French bulldog who has all these adventures and he's always on his way out the door and that's where he got the name tools So I create those on my computer using to Zucca programming and then I upload them onto the Internet where they've gotten a quite a following. If I do say so myself you should put them inside of an egg. Maybe next time the reason why I was inspired to work in the first place was that I feel like kids. Kids love it. Adults love it. Even older people love it like. I don't know if you know this. But in Japan there's a whole version of an ray called the game okay which is aimed at older audiences and it's specifically about older characters like eighty and older telling stories about their grandchildren's success? Okay cool and call. What do you do exactly? Yes I'm illustrator. which the illustrates Manga Stories? Now do the pencilling inking and coloring. I have a Manga coming out next year called Sheesh Bro which is really female female empowering we see a lot of male male female roles and not a lot of female roles. I've really wanted to switch up the game a little bit. Well thank you if I was GONNA be What you do carry? What tips would you give me? I would say the first thing to do is come up with something that you find cute because If you find a cute than likely a whole bunch of other people well There's another character in my episodes. That's Larry the typewriter so sometimes like inanimate objects can be cute. So look around your world Decide what if you added is to it would become a character and then start doodling. Becca do you not typewriter is this is something from ancient time. Yeah just check it and by the way machines are not just cute. Were ruggedly handsome as well. Yes fair point.

Yet, you do need to make some adjustments you, how do you balance that in your mind? Yeah. You like you say, you're right? Is hard to, you know, if it's not broken, don't fix. "I am so sorry. You had a problem with modo phone on virgin mobile. I don't know why that is I do know why with spectrum you would not be able to use just any phone if you go to charter or to Comcast to get cell phone service there using a proprietary method the uses their own hot spots as well as backup. Up from sailor networks, and as best I know with both of those you can't just buy an unlocked phone that works on the traditional cell phone carriers and have it work on their networks. The virgin mobile thing. I don't understand you really miss the key point on this Clark Clark. I was listening to your podcast, and you gave some seriously smelly advice you said you should bring a spare set of keys to the car dealership. So if they had your keys, and you wanted to leave you could just go really when was the last time you bought a car key with fobs built into the key in programming at typically costs over two hundred dollars for a spare key, and I should just leave that behind and then what make a completely separate trip wasting time and money to attempt to recover it and get hassled again, how about telling your listeners to never give their keys to a car salesman. So as not to be held hostage in the first place. The real money saving advice is not trading in your car in the first place and selling it on. Your own to maximize value. You could have then used that way to explain how dealers play the game of saying you get more on your trade-in. But then not giving you as much negotiating power on the sale price or interest rate. I love your show. But that piece of advice almost made me think I had hit a skunk. Steven Steven everything you said, I love the unfortunate thing is most people don't want to deal with getting rid of their old vehicle separately. And they are going to trade it in the problem. You're listening to is one. The dishonest dealers do called roofing, and it's not a drug term. It's where they pretend they can't find the keys to or the fob to the vehicle you brought in to have the used vehicle manager look at it and the term roofing came from a dealer that apparently literally with throw. Potential customers keys onto the roof of the dealership and say, oh, we can't find him is a way of keeping you prisoner at the dealership. So anytime, they tell you they can't find your or your keys they're playing the roofing game, and you make it clear to them. You know, that's what's going on. And give me your keys back all the rest of the advice is completely accurate and also get one of those little tile things attached to your key chain. And then your phone will tell you where the keys are if they lost him. You shouldn't have to go through all that. Okay. Dear Clark it smells stank in here. When a caller asked about investing in cannabis stocks, why not clear the steer the investor to total stark stock market index funds or other index funds which do include cannabis stocks. It would also be a good time to discuss the advantage of low cost index funds. Thank you. I appreciate that. And the value of index fund investing total stock market index. Specifically is something that is should be at the core of what everybody does in terms of investing and the issue with marijuana stocks is like anything else like all the calls. I was getting when all the rage was bitcoin and the other crypto currencies. There are always people who are looking for the next big thing in investing, and I'm sorry. Crypto currencies were never investing. They were just speculative the marijuana stocks at this point are speculative, and it's not truly an investment play yet. And so what I would say is that the old advice from Charles Schwab? There actually is a guy named Charles Schwab, the company anyway, is that you do core and explore that you start with doing the broad. Based investing like the total stock market index..

"What's this thing about you talk about the squeezing because that's a software feature that's added right is my favorite thing ever squeezing in michael fisher mr mobile and i ravin some good fun about this during a google lyle but is so this is kind of an interesting thing that i likened to modo's gestures were you know you do the the twists for the camera and the chopper the flashlight and blackberry just having a a programmable convenience key on the side you just instead of having a key or a twist you just squeezed the sides of the phone and i i liked it is far is just long been able to launch the camera and then launched google assistant which i then change screen shot for a for a longer squeeze but it's not like this huge change to the way use your phone it's it's no different than you know it's just another thing that you learn that this phone does and yes work it works but you know are probably three or four different ways you could conveniently launch these features in i think that this is a really good proof of concept and i think you could easily see a world in which htc makes a phone without buttons on it at all and you would have a series of squeezes i think i look at it just like modo with the the g five did this kind of crazy swipe navigation around the on the bottom of the phone that's just something new they're trying out and it doesn't mean that modo's going to just take the navigation buttons off of its phones by default and it doesn't mean that he she sees necessarily gonna do that but i think that this is something that shows that they can do that and.
