Mike against the blood rival the giants that at home he blew the save. These numbers of brutal in its seven runs. Seven hits four walks in only one full inning. Pitched it's just terrible if your member of that team or the manager that team even though you wanna back kenley jansen can you put them in against the giants in the padres teams that you have to beat. I'm not sure that you can. I watch the replay of this. It's a bad call. There's a difference between holding your position and completing the full. Arkansas swing mike. I ninety five percent of the time that's called strike three first of all the balls over the plate and it's underneath. The letters is a strike. It's a call strike. And it's inciting the call that he didn't is inciting and of course. It incited primarily dave roberts. It'd be just mentioned in his to you. I watch the replay too. I was watching it. "Maybe that'll lead to some more stuff with my former boss. MLB Network trying to write and do as much TV as possible while also you know, promoting my grandfather's Museum and doing things to keep his legacy alive. That is fantastic. It definitely. Sounds like the sky is the limit for you, which of course, being in the sports industry or media industry in general, being as creative as possible is the best way to not only get your skills out there, but kind of like get other people, the younger generation interested in the career. So again, before we switch into the food of the Gods podcast, I just thought of this question on the fly. If you had any advice for the young listeners that might be happening or to some of the parents that might be listening to this podcast episode. If they have a child that is thinking about going into school for broadcast journalism would advice. Can you give to them? I think, at this point, what's most important is being able to do a little bit of everything. So, back when I first started, you were either a writer or a TV person or a producer or an editor nowadays with social month. As prevalent as it is and everything we do having to go on multiple platforms. It's really important that you are able to write both long for like a, an online story and short block social media that you're able to kind of edit, little video clips, do your own Graphics, host a podcast, be a good interviewer, look good on camera and be confident on camera. You really need to be a jack-of-all-trades nowadays to to get a job in the journalism industry. So I would I would definitely say that but I really would also stress the ability to write..

I'm right now, doing a lot of content for the famous pitching coach, Tom houses, new biomechanics pitching app, which is called mustard and hosting this food of the Gods cast, which is about how Elite athletes eat and train to fuel performance, which is just something that I'm super interested in. So, I love to get these athletes on the line and, and talk about what they eat, how they work out, how their workouts change in season, or off-season, what they've learned about training and their bodies as they go from twenty years old to twenty five years old Thirty thirty-five. Some of them forty how things evolve over time. So that's what I've been up to lately. You have been very active in the Sports World in every angle, it seems playing the sports yourself. "Nolan are not on trade that is official, according to John Marosi. Volume on Twitter at John Marosi is MLB network says the Rockies air paying Nolan are not those $35 million salary this season. The Rockies were paying that 15 million is owed to the Cardinals in this calendar year with the remaining 20 million deferred and as we understand it The upwards of 50 million total in this deal. The Rockies are paying. They will not have to pay all of it if no one are not O ops out. Yes. If he opts out, they won't have to pay the prorated portion beyond that s O. There's zumba relief, I guess, um But looking at the way I think the growth he said it best if you looked away that This thing plays out, Iraqis actually increase their payroll this year. I saw that by by the way, it is up working because they have to pay that salary and the added all of these prospects, they're gonna end up increasing their salary. This year. "Met. Seventh Best picture, eighth Best pitcher in baseball. For MLB network. Gotta wonder if anyone in MLB network has been watching. MLB network. The Met had an awesome meal that don't get me wrong. You had a really good year last year, you know. In his 12 starts. 209 e R. A The ex fip. If you're into that sort of a thing, 3 30, So is a little inflate his he had a low Batting average on balls in play. I mean, we've all been there. Eighth best pitcher in baseball. Aaron Nolan Walker Bueller two guys that you can't really take a offensive to rounding out the list. His limit. Even the third best pitcher on the Padre staff. They just got Blake Snell. He's pretty good. It just got Yu Darvish, who finished second in National League Cy Young voting. He's pretty good. Lament finished fourth again. You had a wonderful year. I'm looking at the projections. They think he's got a mid three high three z R a for next year. Was again of the low batting average on balls in play. Yeah. Everybody here. The station loves baseball. We wouldn't be On the leader If we didn't have a deep passion for the sport, yes, but really sometimes it is hard. Take baseball seriously when it doesn't seem to take itself seriously. And they'll be network is not one of these places that you know it's not clutch points. You know that I'm putting out ranking so that people talk about it on sports talk radio. They were dead serious about this. He's not even the second best picture on his own staff now. They ranked him eighth overall. By the way, I think they did the third base ones. They should probably tell whoever was voting on that. That Nolan a. Renato hasn't been all that great for the last two years. I think they voted him third that Chapman was seventh. I'm seeing a bit of a problem here. Baseball is still in a state of incredible flux. We don't know how many playoff teams they're gonna be. We don't know if there's gonna be a d. H in both leagues next year. Well, at this point, there might be a D. H in the National League in the American League's gonna go back to pitchers hitting. That's how open flux it is. Carry on earlier, he said. He thinks that there's actually gonna be spring training games in February, a fingers crossed I can tell you this. There ain't gonna be any spring training games next February. The whole thing. Sits on the edge. And one of the ways For us to take the lead more seriously as it basically Decides to put itself into extinction. Driving away fans with a bunch of teams that are run like vulture hedge funds. Strip mining away all the talent so that the owners could make an extra buck. With a product that is becoming more and more insufferable to watch on the whole. Because it's just interminable. We subscribe here to something called the Godfather rule. If your product is longer than three hours, the running time of the Francis Ford Coppola masterpiece, The Godfather. If your product is longer than that, it better be awesome. NFL games finished in three hours. NFL games on the whole are awesome. And yet we still need red zone every Sunday. We could. We could say if we have to. We could sit through Thursday night football. We could do it. We're going to sit through watch the Super Bowl. It goes a little bit longer than three. But you get a really nice halftime show. I don't know how you feel about the weekend. I don't feel one way or another. But they make a thing out of it. Not a marching band. No. College football. On the other hand, Takes about 4 4.5 hours, it seems, I think the national championship games still might be happening if they named Alabama, the champions yet or they still in the fourth quarter. We live on the West Coast. This stuff starts early for us, and I was tired at the end of the national championship game. Most NFL games. We get done with the Sunday night football game. I go have dinner. I have literally done this before. I have had dinner with my wife and gone and seen a movie after Sunday night football. That's the beauty of living on the West Coast, baby. You're willing to wake up a little bit earlier than you would on the East Coast. You could get a full day of football in and still fulfill your marital obligations. Beautiful thing. College football. That game starts even a five o'clock 5 30. You ain't catching a movie after that, baby. And you are exhausted for no good reason. Baseball games. We're gonna We're gonna get back into it. The Giants are gonna have games at four. I don't know if Mark's going to be able to do a show after him because sometimes they take up until 10 o'clock. And that's for one out of 1 62. That is unacceptable in a marketplace where you're competing. With everything. Some people might really enjoy the long drawn out process of baseball. Don't enjoy a nice crisp, two hours and 30 minutes. That's what I'm into. You got enough action, you two hours and 30 minutes. That's more attention span than.

She ate you the conversation as always, Thank very much great job, Jimmy, the best in the business. My friend always love my conversations with you. And thanks for having me on the show again today. You too, John. It's the exact same thing about you. You are the best in the business, and I appreciate our conversation and the relationship. John Rosie makes it a point to come on the program. And we ask him pretty frequently to come on the program because there is nobody who does it as well as he does it, John Marosi. All right. See that this notion of the yips man, it's It's amazing. Chuck Knobloch, Steve Sax, Mark Waller's I mean, crazy stuff. And now maybe out to bay. All right, so Let's go back to the day in question the matter at hand now, this used to be a day that I tried my very best to ignore. I've never been that guy. You know, I don't really care about my birthday. It's nice. You know, people really nice about it. And they go out of the way. Happy birthday, love. You hope you have a special day on and on and on. You know it is what it isjust not that big of a deal to me. Or at least it wasn't and it's become an even bigger deal to me, but not because of me. It's become a day that is impossible to look away from. Back when October 14th was just my birthday. Don't really much give a damn Because I'm not that guy. Then it all changed. When did it all change? Why did it all change? Well, it all changed when that Dwight David Eisenhower doppelganger. Came sauntering arrogantly into this shop. Arranged Soak. In unwarranted on earned and misguided confidence. The likes of which I've never seen before. I always quote what was at that time one of my favorite lines ever a guy said about another guy that I know I have never seen a guy that ugly without much confidence. An amazing statement. Then I met this guy. Not to say that he's ugly or handsome or otherwise. Just a guy with unwarranted confidence. But damn, he thinks he's good. You know what I'm talking about? Garret writ. Take a hike. Now I do not have the time in a year, let alone a single three our program to reset his unicorn like behavior. Just understand this. There is nobody on this planet like rip nobody. What For? How uniquely original. This guy is. We do have that one thing in common. We were both born on October 14th. That in and of itself is freaky. What are the odds that I hire a guy who looks like he's five decades older than me? Who was born on the same day. Years after me. And if you think that I did that, to make myself feel better about me or to make myself look better. That's not true. Again. You think that's wild about this? Guess who else was born on that day? That's right. Freaking. Dwight D. Eisenhower, who does Ike look exactly? Like Dwight D..

We're so excited to speak with MLB Network president Rob McG. Larry So, Rob, We're taping this on Thursday morning, October 1st and Man yesterday Wednesday What a day for Major League baseball. What a day for baseball fans tell us how it felt. First law, Gentlemen, thanks very much for having me looking forward to talking to you. I'm a little dizzy. I'm I'm a little groggy, but it was a long, joyous day for baseball fans, starting it at high noon and ending Late at night. You know, the Yankee fans had to stand a little late, thanks to the weather in Cleveland and then really exciting game. But I know in Secaucus where our studios are. That place was buzzing all day. You know, in the morning with anticipation, and then with all the games, you know, people were just, you know. Bouncing against the walls, and I will say, you know, I dropped my daughter off at school today. And even though the game was laid, it seemed like you know, people in New York were buzzing with the results. So ah, night fun way for for Kind of very unique postseason, T get going and congratulations to you because you were able to get permission to sell about what 11,500 tickets to the world. Siri's In Arlington, Texas. Yeah, I know men, and I'll be announcing obviously, that they're going to follow the government regulations. But there definitely seems to be on an appetite for fans toe watch in person, you know. We've all gotten very used to the cardboard cut outs. But I'm sure there's going to be a lot of interest in Texas for folks to watch, you know, at the LCS level in the World Series. Rob, you launched the MLB back in the 2009. Did you ever imagine it would be where you are right now, heading into a new decade. With so much interest in so much global interest were all your tentacles have spread. Before on the network was launched. I actually worked in the league office. I worked on the initial deal that led to the carriage for MLB network and, you know That happened. 1005 or six, You know, for a while, The agreements will bind yours in my office. And that was that was the only network You know, And then once we had plans to actually get a facility and launch and Tony Petitti, you brought me over full time to the network to see that sort of path and journey that there's no way when A bunch of distribution agreements with some of the larger seriously in my office. I anticipated the facility that were in the amount of programming that that we do. It's been quite a ride and you know it. For me to be part of it. It's been humbling, but ah lot of fun. We've created a great culture. We're incredibly proud of the product that we put out. You know, we're not the biggest media entity, but we try to It is much effort and passion into what we do every day, and I think it shone. You know, this year has been a unique year and And one of the things that are place has been proud of this sort of how we do at the sports Emmys and other than normally in spring, and this year they happen Toe. To be in August, which was kind of odd timing, but it worked out well, because this year has been an odd year and we won three Emmys. The one that everyone there are building sort of always looks to daily studio show for us. That's sort of the best picture category because you know, we've produced so many hours of Of studio programming, and when we won, I sent out a note everybody and I just said, you know, these days. It's nice to have some good news. You don't have a lot of days. But you haven't had a lot of days like that. And you know, we've won we denominated every year with 17 years out of 11 and to think when we were just sort of And this was just an idea that that's where we be and that. You know, we'd be doing playoff games for 99 years. I honestly I didn't anticipate that. Let's talk about that. And what changed that made that all possible or what was going on in the broader business and media and consumer landscape honestly robbed that sort of made it possible. T get Teo where it is, and I'm sure we'll talk a little bit more about the pandemic and this very unlikely and topsy turvy season, But What have you seen, evolve or change across the broader media landscape that has sort of created this lane for you? Well, I mean, the world is a lot different now than when L B network launched it would probably probably pretty difficult to launch on the network today. Now we have credibility in the following at the time way back then. No. The idea was that God and out of market product, you know, extra innings that distributors were interested in and was there a way we could sort of partner with them. To use that to help us get launched with suitors and as with any cable network launched that there were Off a bumps, Uh, you know, but we got to a point with a partnership with the largest shooters, and it's worked out really well for everybody, You know, obviously. We were. We're in last phones now than we were a few years ago. But that's that's the truth. All cable cable networks, you know, and we're working with one of the reasons why You know, we wanted to make sure that product is so good to make sure that we're doing our part partnerships with the distributors, and I think we've done that. But, yeah, it's a It's a Brave new world and and you've got new players out there you know, were were carried on a number of the virtual PDS carried on slaying carried on YouTube TV. We were just launched on Tubo. We want to be wherever baseball fans are consuming content. Did you ever think and here comes old geezer bar again when you had the watch wide world of sports to get the cacophony of your news, whatever way before ESPN..

MLB playoffs underway An update from the NFL regarding this weekend's action and the Titans game. I will have that for you momentarily. What I do want to do is start with the MBA. I want to start with the MBA finals. Hey, did you know this? Did you know that LeBron James used to play for the Miami Heat? Did you know that? Did you know he's now applying them in the N B a Finals, man. You want to talk about the ultimate hashtag? Revenge? Cherries, Right? The ultimate hashtagged revenge. Siri's Am I right? Wrong wrong. Say something. Are you telling me that LeBron James is going to work even harder to beat the Miami heat? Then he would have worked. Tau beat the Boston Celtics. Is that what you're saying? And of course not. Hell, No, he said as much yesterday. Absolutely not no extra meaning that winning a championship about where you plant again. It's already hard enough to even reach the finals to be in this position. So You could've become victorious out of the finals. It doesn't matter who is against All right. So if the Lakers win four of the next seven The reward of the championship is going to be the reward of the championship. It's going to be about the mental and psychological battle they went through in the bubble to win that championship. It's going to be about the fact that they survived a 4.5 month hiatus. And then nearly three months in the bubble to win the title. That's the thing probably the most challenging thing I've ever done as far as a professional. For the committing to something. And actually making it through. I knew what I was coming. Where we come in here for? Obviously you didn't I would be lying if I said appear to knew that everything inside the bubble with what it was told it would take In your mind in your body. Everything else has been An extremely tough But I'm here for one reason and one reason only. It has to compete for a championship. That's it, And that's why you can't hang an asterisk on this thing, because what they've all been through and on top of that again. I really doubt that a title would feel any less significant or any less special if it came against the Celtics, as opposed to the heat. Besides for everybody wanting to make this and it's some sort of revenge. Siri's does this sound like a guy who's got an axe to grind with Pat Riley worked out. Rather, you think about one of the greatest minds that ever just game has ever had. Is one in every level. Sena stashed other data He's been Part of a championship in four decades. This league. Is not the same without That waste It was a great guy,.

Houston Astros sign stealing scandal: Carlos Beltrán had a 'sway over the clubhouse'

But what he mentioned that Carlos Beltran's sway over the clubhouse. Help explain the inaction of hinch and other coaches and players. No one wanted to challenge Carlos. I've never played major league baseball so I don't know what the actual clubhouse dynamic is there. I know teams want veteran presence in their for their experience and to help young guys through through their problems and some issues that they go through. Because hey happens to us ever happens to everybody in the league happens to everybody like I mentioned. Some players mentioned there in their first year. They didn't want to challenge veteran. They didn't want to go against the status quo or the status quo that they thought was in place because they were just there's rookie. They didn't know any any better. "From our broadcasting on MLB network radio from our studios with Jim bowdoin and Jim Duquette to former MLB general managers with big by pick radio analysis. So we'll be watching this thing on TV and reacting every single pick. We've done the draft on site previously when it was actually in the milk house, and Orlando back in two thousand eight draft probably I guess that's not at the top of the board for a BUSTER. Posey going fifth overall to the San Francisco Giants. But I'm looking forward to it. It's become a Musi event. It's become huge like the other drafts. And the other sports baseball done a really good job with they have, and they tried to get more players in there in the television production is good. And you guys do a great job on the radio. But it seems like it's a foregone conclusion that the number one pick is going to be you've been doing this for about a decade now on, on serious most years. We have a good grasp of about who the number one pick going to be, I certainly believed the top two picks. Kinda etched in stone. Is there any chance that they could fly in Bobby Witt could actually be the number one pick instead of Al Adly Richmond? The catcher from Oregon state Jody, I think there is a possibility that I wouldn't bet on it, I think there's probably a seventy or seventy five percent chance. I'd say that idly watchmen goes one, one Mike Elias is in its first year running the draft for the Orioles is their first year. GM is a proponent of not making your final decision until the day of the draft. So I think what at least said publicly they're going to do is, get, as many people in the room as possible to make that final decision come to the verdict tomorrow. I think they're going to determine that rush is the right thing. He's eight catcher from Oregon state is six two. Two fifteen. He's got every box Jack. And I think the reason you take him one one. If you're both more is that he's a little bit safer than Bobby Witt as high upside as. He is. I think it'd be told me right now that there's a superstar a few years from now in this class. It's a several time all star and winning MVP awards. I think with better chance to do that. But if your first pick running an organization rebuilding it system. You really can't get this election wrong. I think Rochman is going to be a terrific major league talent for years to come. So they play a little bit safer. They go rush when and that leads to the royals which I think is a foregone conclusion if he's there, I haven't heard of one person in baseball, I've talked to they they'll take anybody other than him, assuming he doesn't go first overall understood, you mentioned, yours, the number one pick for time, general manager sitting in that chair, different organizations. Do it differently. Some general manager very hands on a are going to make the call. And it's push come to shove. They'll overruling scout take they're gonna take. And there are some general manager did readily admit they got enough on their plate that they're going to. Put their faith in the people that they've hired and selected to make these kind of calls. Do we know for a fact the first year GM of Atlanta is that guy or does he have faith in, in all the individuals that work under him to give him the right note name to call number one? Well, it's, it's a pretty reworked front office, obviously, right Elias, who started in Saint Louis, and went to Houston working under Luneau and the group that has turned the Astros into a jug or not brought some of the key pieces with them over to Baltimore. So I think there's going to be a good working report with them, and they'll carry over to the Orioles front office what they did with the Astros. Everyone's gonna have a seat at the table and he'll listen. But Mike Elias got hired to run a front office, because he is a terrific scouting mind in the same way that a guy like Mike Rizzo in Washington. The guys that came up driving and see players. And in writing names on cards, then end up running offices. They called the shot at the end if he gets to a point like Rizzo has with Chris Klein where he has someone in his building that he trusts the inherently. Yeah. Oh, ho, let them call. I think some of those decisions, but I've talked about this recently on the radio. Now he is seen all of the players, the top of the board that they're considering the reason he has become in charge healthy Orioles front office, maybe more than anything else was. He was the guy that really advocated for Carlos Correa. First overall and brew into some, some star power and fame out of that. So I think this is his call, I think, in the end they will listen to everybody but he's gonna make Arnold. We have had couple of, you mentioned Korea and a couple of years ago, we had the quote unquote, shortstop drive with Swanson bregman going one two. We know Bobby Witt's gonna go number two. How deep is this shortstop group? How many other shortstops are we're going to see taken in the first round, I think it's a real deep shortstop crop this year because Jodi, this is as good a position player group, probably as we've seen in a while. In fact, the record for the first round twenty one back. Taken in round one and for people listening around the country, what you want to pay attention to among some other storylines tomorrow. That's a number that's probably going to end up being surpassed. I think we're going to break that record. This is arguably the worst college pitching drafts in recent history. This'll be my twelfth draft really following in covering it closely. And I've never seen this in a rank of college pitchers. The highschool arms are very much in. Better regarded. But there's some question intrigue, number one, there's nothing riskier at this point to take is, you know, then in eighteen year old throws ninety seven miles an hour who at some point is very likely ticketed for Tommy John based on the history. Now, these high octane fire fireballs in high school. But that said, I think the shortstop groups pretty elite of the question is how many of these guys stay there when you look at some high school talents like CJ Abrams from blessed trinity, and Georgia, I've got him going forth to the Marlins right now, gun or Henderson, and six three two hundred pounds as shortstop from Alabama who going to go in the first round, I think he could go to the dodgers in the mid twenty th the question, I guess, with each of these players becomes do they ultimately grow out of that physician, does their frame, get bigger. They ended up at third or and a corner in the outfield. But the story of this class is back, and we've got really an elite group. Power collegiately. Andrew von from Cal among others, sitting two dozen. Home runs this year, and then athletes in high school. They're going to go much earlier than in the past. We may get out of the top ten without having a picture taken. I don't know that we will. But it's a possibility. I never would have said that before I don't want to ask you about a high school pitch. We know Bobby Witt CUNY is going to go either number one or number two. And of course, his father, former major leaguer about another major leaguer who I'm assuming we'll be on the province's tomorrow because his dad is part of them. These draft coverage, allied is kid gonna get tabbed first round second round is he going to be in Secaucus me, you know, I don't know if he's on the list of Windsor prize me at all. If he was for obvious reasons. Right. He's in the office where dad goes to work night in and night out. I've got him going right now in the first round, I think he could go in the latter part of the first round, it would make sense to me. And that kind of Yankees dodgers Astros range thirty to thirty to the back end. His name game off the board. Dumbarton high school in jersey, a hander with all the bloodlines and the stuff you could ask for when the question when you're taking a prospect, like Jack light or if he that late in the class is now what type of bonus is it gonna take to get him to sign the have to pay him than over sloppiest to get creative to get a deal done? But Jack lighter who's out kid is one of a few names, you're going to know when you hear it tomorrow, and look, no further than right now, with what the Toronto Blue Jays have done. They just graduated of tapping B's ios been outstanding at the major league level, of course, vitamin borough junior is one of the gains truest blue chip prospect. They've got more second generation players coming Awasthi Boba shit was working its way to the top of the minor leagues with them right now. So teams like doing this. They know that when you draft someone who grew up in major league baseball household, you're getting the character in some of the thought process and paradigm that you need to succeed professionally, it's just one less thing that they don't have to worry about. Because they know these guys were groomed and then environment that allows them to think about the game of baseball in a way they don't need to be taught and built for the foundation from the ground up grandpa and from Sirius XM's network radio. Be doing draft coverage tomorrow night, giving us some insight here on CBS sports radio. You might you wear Jack lighter goes Martin high school in New Jersey is there a chance that he's the second player taken off his ice cold team in the draft tomorrow? Possibly. Yes, I mean, go Barton's had a fluid scouts, their obviously to look at mobile players this year. I personally on, on the most recent mock that I've done have lighter is the only of the del Barton, high jersey products going round one. I think if it was just about talent. And that's one thing people have to understand about the MLB draft is a little bit different than the NFL draft. And some of the others is that it's not as simple as thirty two picks in the first round. So let's look at the top thirty two players in the country and assign them accordingly. There are other factors here. He who, who does Scott Boras advise and represent. Right. The flooding systems in place now. So teams may in the top ten take a player who's this thirty eight best player on their board who they can get at two million under slot. Because then they'll come back with two late extra to spend later because you're giving this allowance for major league baseball, the spend over the first ten rounds and then you can. Get a guy maybe fell that shouldn't be there later in the draft as well. So predicting this thing is complicated saying who's gonna go where how many guys from each school or where these prospects will end up is more difficult. But I think if it's about talent they have to in the first round, I just think lighter is absolutely gonna come off the board. He's east too good a player not to I'd say they so we could have as many maybe as eight or nine high school arms go in the first round. I did talk to one draft expert today. Oh on my show, who said he'd.

It certainly makes it sound like there's really just negotiations and dealings between a player coach manager and any major or minor league club. So it doesn't even feel like explicitly says that players can't recruit each other that there isn't really a rule against player tampering. And in my opinion. It has served the NBA greatly to create drama an interest year round to have players talking about who they'd wanna play with and kind of recruiting each other. I don't see I don't see an issue with this. Mark, do you. The issue with it. I I think was sort of especially when you're talking about guys of, you know, Bryce Harper and Mike trout's caliber, you know, you don't want to have them necessarily recruiting each other to teams you remember last year. And so it's kind of unspoken, you know, Bryce sort of toed the line this press conference when he talked about, you know, a guy in California, and he's going to be a free agent a couple of years and never mentioned by name. But then you did mention them by name. And I, you know, I don't expect any real major tampering charge or anything like that file, but the angel. Certainly did let MLB no that they weren't thrilled with the whole thing and Harper's been spoken to believe by the Phillies. So you know, I would imagine he said today he come down until I wouldn't miss set. It if I didn't mean it, but my guess is he will tamp down some of that talk. You know from going forward here about my Trump. We're talking to Mark fine. San from major league baseball network insider there and Mark with that being said isn't this part of why the Phillies give trout? Sorry. Give Harper at thirteen year deal is to do this sort of recruit people. Yeah. Absolutely..
Bryce Harper sweepstakes could heat up at winter meetings
"Remember the days, right? It's out of Thursday morning. Friday morning is the rule five draft and that ends the proceedings there at the winter meetings. But when you get it. The winter as he got everybody in one place Arab Vegas, and they're going to be all packed into one hotel. And you know, every you have front offices up in a sweet, and they meet every day, basically live up there. You got the reporters walking the hallways. Really unique kind of set up something like MLB network will have their whole studio set up in the middle. Guess wouldn't be in the middle of the game floor there. But in one of the wings of the casinos. So it'll be. Rumer central and that job is everybody talks every little thing becomes a big rumor in typically, we talked about Jayson stark a little bit earlier tonight. You don't always have a whole lot of action at the winter meetings, especially early on and sometimes it will build up. But a lot of big moves already here as Paul Goldschmidt is traded for by the cardinals the Mets with their big move. In fact, they every single one of the teams in the NFL as except the Marlins is already had a big strike so far this off season. But where I am curious now is what happens with Manny Machado and Bryce Harper. The Yankees did not get Patrick Corbin. We have all this money to spend. I gotta take the Yankees are going to end up with one of those two and the Phillies you'd figure it'd be the landing spot for the other the national spend a lot of money on Corbin out. They get puts them out on Bryce Harper. But we just haven't seen them tied to. That many teams every fan base. I guess want Machado one Harper, but the actual teams and the rumor mill really has it started on them yet. And it's been the rest of the free agent market. It's been you know, kinda pick that to to this point Soviets Tennessee starting up on Sunday as to what the Mets still need to accomplish. Even after the deal this week had a chance to catch up. Nelson Figueroa best in why earlier tonight, we'll have
