"Is one impressive group. Another minute or two with mike kelly. Speaking of impressive. Let's flip over to the basketball side of things and ice win over wichita state yesterday. They've got a home win. A neutral site win a road win. It's three and start for console martin and company. Mike as you look at what the hoops team has done again amid stay a lot of uncertainty amidst season like basketball where you may not even know who your next opponent is going to be albeit in the very early returns. What have you seen so far. Well i think they look like experienced team that we thought they would look like when the season began in. And you know when you have as many distractions as as the pandemic has provided for sports Those with experienced those that are mature those have been through their share had their share of adversity throughout the course of careers. I think those are the ones with the that kind of adjust in can handle things. This is an experienced team and and they're playing like an experienced team and you know they're they're showing a lot of maturity They they don't panic You know they've got a couple of. I think important ball games this week. Liberty is is not a team that should be taken light and lightly. They've already beaten. Mississippi state already beaten south carolina. The sec So that'll be a game. That zuriel need to play well in on wednesday night and then you get the bragging rights game coming up on saturday against a terrific illinois team so i just think that this is this is condos best team. Even you know going back to his first era when he cashes roberson jon porter You know and michael. Four game or three I i think this is going to prove esteem. top to bottom from collective standpoint You know and and it's gonna be fun to watch them. Continue to develop you know. I mentioned like the way the football team won on saturday. And i don't think we see that kind of win a couple years ago. You another game where you only got eighteen minutes out of jeremiah. Tillman on the road against wichita state. overcame some adversity. Were able to fight back and still won. That game is at a team that the basketball team. The last couple of years ago does not win mike. Well you know yeah. I don't know that that's that's a good point. And and i don't know that i've got the answer because it was you know as a game. Zuri control the once. They took the lead after they only trailed once in the game. Two to nothing so once they took control they hit control. But you know. I think the thing that you saw that when when which tough made its run to cut it to four at half rated panic they came out in the second. Half in a very workman-like fashion were able stretch the lead to as many seventeen in the second half and then didn't handle things the way you would like them to down the stretch too many files allowing which to cut in the lead but Yeah i don't know if i can answer with the previous team i just don't but I know this the this team is better than they were over the last couple of years and again you get guys that are playing at a different level right. Now and guys that are healthy and it's important for for telman who You know his his second foul was really one that you know. I think if you asked him he knows exactly what he did. Wrong from a defensive standpoint of third foul just trying to be aggressive hedging on a screen on and maybe it's just a little bit step slow off all thanks learned from at least. You're not seeing the Consistent kind of Ill-advice files that you saw from him early in his career. Mike kelly we appreciate it man. I know busy Weekend and another busy week coming up but should be on with liberty and then sixth ranked illinois liberties. Probably better than wichita state. Be a big test on wednesday and then of course georgia coming up over the weekend. Thanks to the chatman. All the best and we'll talk to you soon. Enjoying listening what he took her scoff got.

"Going to get to some of that and just a moment and then give you some thoughts on the Mizzou Tigers who had another nice win this time over the Kentucky Wildcats in Columbia Mizzou getting ready to take on Florida this weekend, but let's start with the baseball last night in the World Series in Texas the Dodgers afford to win over the Tampa Bay Rays to take a 3-2 lead in the series wage. And Clayton Kershaw was good again, five and two-thirds Innings gave up two runs to walk six strikeouts the Rays threatened and had some opportunities early, but Kershaw was able to get out of them Dodgers doing it with the Home Run. They took a three nothing lead in the second Inning on a jack Peterson home run the race got two in the bottom of the third inning. But then after a Margo walk in the back of the 4th still of three two game, he got to third base after stealing second. I walked a hunter Renfrow the race at first and third with nobody out but Kershaw will get out of trouble of pop up a strikeout and Margo trying to steal home Kershaw cut him down at home plate. So 3 to that's as close as the Rays got another home run from Max Muncy in the top of the fifth inning gave the Dodgers therefore to lead that's how it would end. So the Dodgers an opportunity tomorrow after the off day-to-day to win the World Series and still the topic of conversation is Randy arozarena dead. Get another RBI single last night Derrick goold the Saint Louis Post-Dispatch. You can read my stltoday.com with Dan McLaughlin earlier today on Scoops with Danny mac.com on the Eurozone ran of trains the reaction from around baseball and how the outfielder transformed himself during an unprecedented season 8 a lot of questions as to why that trade happened. I think I think the national level wage at this real sense that you know, there's not a whole lot in ideas to who came back in that trade because right Matthew Liberatore is not yet in the majors. He's a prospect. And so Monday you you got to have to kind of have your eye on the farm to know who came back in that trade. Whereas all eyes are on Randy this October. So get a lot of questions about that. You know, what did Cardinals didn't see and what how could they let this guy go? Does this have staying power? You know, you get that question a lot too or is there anything different about Randy Rhoads r a n u all those all those questions. Of fascinating answers, you know, the the Cardinals traded Rosemary in part because the you know, the Rays wanted to make that deal and right-handed depth in the Outfield. We all know that they were trying to move those guys. They were shopping actively shopping. A lot of right-handed outfielders the race had long-standing interest in Jose Martinez. Wanted to make that deal the Cardinals. We're really really interested in adding to their left-handed depth and wanted to find if they could a significant Prospect and Liberatore is one of the top prep Prospect off the top left handed pitchers out of high school still one of the top left-hand and Prospects who was drafted out of high school. Very young guy a grade Pals with Nolan. Gorman is a lot of folks in st. Louis home. So, you know, it was a fit for the Cardinals and you know to make that deal happen Jose Martinez was obviously the guy that the Tampa targeted but at 2,000 the likelihood of getting Liberatore back or two to make that possible they added in the outfielder. Am I don't know if other outfielders are talked about per se I do know that the the Rays at one point in time and talked to the Cardinals about O'Neill, you know that they had some interest there. I don't know if the Cardinals resisted trading him or if the Ray said we'd rather have a rosary near this time around. But the Cardinals felt add depth so they made that you know, what's changed is I mean roserain is a much bigger guy than the guy who played for the Cardinals off the the story behind that is interesting cuz he dealt with covid-19. He he had a positive test then kept getting positive test. He said he was asymptomatic never felt ill off constantly got you know, your regularly got positive tests for for three weeks a little bit more than three weeks that kept him away from the Rays obviously kept him in quarantine. He couldn't do much they they they tried to deliver her they set up a thing to deliver groceries to him. So he taught himself to cook and he also just did something like something crazy like 300 push-ups a day. Yeah, something like that, right? And so you just built on I mean, he just used the timing quarantine to just build muscle mass. And he did that. I mean he fifteen pounds heavier than when they saw him in spring training. So there's that's obviously any and it's not just like adding fifteen pounds by like just eating quarantine and watching Netflix has it was you know, what he taught himself a cook. It was the lean meals that he taught myself to cook a lot of chicken and rice. He was saying, you know just was able a pack on strength and so he's a different guy than than the one that the car whole sad and then you know, does this have staying power? Well, the guys hit everywhere everywhere everywhere. He's gone. He's hit he's just wage. I mean put him in a league and he's hit there. So, you know, I don't know. I mean the trend says that he's in this spot now he certainly has a lot of confidence and he it's so I think back next year for the Rays. He's going to be a regular and everyday Clarity probably going to hit that is going to hit 360. No, probably not a 20 home runs. Sure. That's that's reasonable. You're cool disease Saint Louis Post-Dispatch. That's on the Randy arozarena trade and also the transformation that arose Arena made when he was unable to be on the field and you know, I mentioned this with Dan a couple of days ago last Thursday as we were having our normal Thursday chat the amount of players and the quality of players that get traded away released or otherwise exiled if that's the term you want to use from Big League teams, and it's easy to focus on Eros Arena right now because he is the topic of conversation not just for Cardinals fans, but for the baseball world, but if you go around the teams say just in the National League Central and I went back to 2015 offseason after the 2015 season the last five years up until this year and compiled a list of all the players that each team in the National League central bank has lost be a trade free agency waivers or otherwise, so I'll run through those right now because I gave a couple of the names with Dan but this is just to give you an idea of the caliber of Players Club. That have been moved on from by each team in the division will start with the Cardinals and their position players. All right. So again trade free agency waivers guys. They've each team in the National League central has parted ways with going back to 2015 Cardinals position players. And this is a no particular order perhaps by transaction order but Jason Heyward jahns J J. Jerko, Jose Martinez, Matt Adams aledmys Diaz Randal grichuk Stephen piscotty, Tommy Pham Carson Kelly Luke Voit magnor, Sierra, Marshall Ozuna and Randy arozarena. So obviously some of those guys like Randy arozarena shipped out via trade others leaving via free agency, but that is a pretty staggering the position players from a pitching perspective. Luke Weaver, Trevor Rosenthal Mike Myers. Lancelin, Marco Gonzales, Sandy, Alcantara Michael Wacha. So there's the list of pitchers wage. Don't have parted ways with via trade free agency or otherwise and again a pretty impressive list Cubs list as we go through the teams in the National League Central and the players they have parted ways. Now this is pretty impressive because the number of guys.

"You know the start of it Working in high school with Gus Malzahn then being with with coach. And then you go with Brian Harrison and being with him and being able to really maybe eight people in two different philosophies You know it just it. It tells me that this guy is mature beyond his years. I'm curious from a personal perspective active. And you've been around Mizzou many many years. You're Missouri Sports Hall of Famer One of the great announcers in in College Sports And you were tight with Bury Oldham Minisov and you saw as a player he saw as an assistant then the head coach and then he's let go and you have this new guy. Come in from your perspective Mike. How tough was at to see Berry? Go well it's always tough. You know again i. I met Berry Oedemas or as Upright Act Frenchman from Oklahoma And think the world of him and wish he in T- You know the boys Garrett and JT analog with their daughter the best and they're going to be fine you know they're they're going to be just fine. I mean you know what what Barry owed him did it is at at his Alma. Mater is that he played a stock right and that stock Rewarded him very nicely Over the course of four years and he was able to parlay that into another position going to pay him over a million dollars a year or so But I go back in in terms of adjustment because you know when you make coaching staff changes. It's not just the coaches that are let go. All the position coaches choose. It's the IT impacts all of the families and the kids and things like that and my hands. If I just think over you know the last you know twenty six twenty seven years the number number different staffs that have been let go And the number of families that are impacted it's somewhat staggering. But Yeah I go back to to really advice Larry Smith the late Larry Smith A guy that I that I loved working with a guy that I loved as a human being in that it dearly miss Larry Smith told me after Gary Pinkel was hired it. I'll never forget. Laurie and I had breakfast. With with Larry and Cheryl Smith one Spring Day Once every morning on a weekend at the sixty three diner Just north of Columbia and Larry said to me. He said he said. What do you think of the new staff? This was after Pinkel staff was hired as coach. Really don't know I said having spent spend much time with them I said you know it's it's tough just kind of adjusting to you. Know your guys leaving and then this whole group coming in and looked at me and he says it's your job to get to know these folks you owe it to them you owe to your profession. You need to sit down you need to be open. It's not their fault. I got fired. It's my fault I got fired and that was really you know sage advice from a from a guy that that I really respected and So you know again. It's to see families. Disrupted you hate to see change Indiana state. Aj everybody's pretty much handsomely rewarded. So I think they're going to be fine But now you you know you're really having you know no other choice but to move onto the next guy you like drink. What's in his staff? There are guys now right. I mean for Missouri fans and and and You know Certainly is I look at it. I need to develop relationships because I'm GONNA have to work with them this season Gets closer and so you know you. Embrace them And you and you know you look forward to to what the future holds guy people excited about him. You get that feeling in Columbia really do know not only Columbia. I just look at the the reaction on Saturday when he was introduced to the crowd just watching him work You know Yes he was seated in the stands getting ready to watch the game it but he's keen. He knows you knows different people he needs to say hi to and you know I. I think people are excited. I really do. I think I think Missouri fans are are are looking forward to you. Know Offensive. Football helps I think sell tickets defense wins championships but anything offense. Football sells tickets and You know I I I think Missouri I I love what Jim S- Turk said when he made the decision to make the move is that he thought that Missouri had lost momentum as a program program. I agree with him. I thought that they did to. It's hard for fan base to obey to embrace a program that loses five consecutive games. Three different times over four year period. That's just that's difficult for fans to to really you know grasped and get momentum behind that program You know so i. I appreciated the what Jim said in terms of that in the way that he framed it and I think the other thing too Dan that that as the director of Athletics Jim Sturrock had to say and my one hundred percent cent convinced that Berry owed him this capable of turning around and regaining that momentum. And if you're not one hundred percent convinced as yeah flooded cruncher then you have to make a change and he did and I think that he made a really good decision in a really good choice in any length. Drink Whitson and I think the Patriots Right. You're the best my man. Thank you for everything. Happy Holidays to you and yours for Christmas and I can't wait to..

"Yet. Or what did we still be. Coaching in. Twenty wanted thirty two bro. He'll probably be sending that letter hip replacement. They're gonna be on his fifth cain that there are myriad new faces all over the college football landscape in new places coming up. We'll will discuss which of those coaches in which of those players in their new spot most intrigues. They're everywhere <music>. It's i don't know about y'all but that gives me hype. The two thousand nineteen season we'll have plenty of faces in new places. Jalen hurts makes his way to norman oklahoma after going twenty fifty six and two as a starter for alabama. He'll try to repeat the performances of his predecessors baker. Mayfield and kyla murray for coach lincoln riley jacobson heads hands back to his native washington after losing the starting job at georgia to jake frahm eastern was the top drink quarterback in the two thousand sixteen recruiting class just like the eastern kelly bryant lost his job to a great freshman at clemson in trevor lawrence now brian leetch barrio dems mizzou tigers speaking of elite freshman last year's number but one recruit justin fields couldn't unseat jake frahm in his first year georgia so he took off to columbus the buckeyes starting quarterback job. Tommy stevens is he's headed down the mississippi state. After a few seasons and penn state he'll be reunited with bulldogs head coach and former penn state offense coordinator joe moorhead or head hunter johnson heads off the northwestern and former irish quarterback brandon wimbush u._c._f. Quarterbacks in the only ones on the move dana hoeger sohn calling the shots of houston after eight seasons at west virginia and the mad hatter is back this time in lawrence after two years away from the game and ryan day. We'll try to replicate locate the success of his old boss urban meyer at ohio state day. Did however costa i three games of two thousand eighteen while meyer was suspended. I unneeded oxygen mask after all that i don't know about you guys is there. You'll get you'll get better. You'll get better than lung bay bill. It goes along homing which coach with the new address. Are you most intrigued to see. I'm alex grinch oklahoma and listen. We've seen championship offense after championship offense the last several years in a lot of the last decade from oklahoma but it's been the defense that has been atrocious and alex grinch comes in with a more or aggressive style approach. He didn't just do it it. It just go to ohio state and be a big name there. He did it in washington state with less talented guys. That's what i think you'll see him. Creating creating turn around the facility ohio state now or oklahoma now. You see football's everywhere where they're gonna create turnovers. They created eleven a year ago eleven and you th league teams that we just showed in create more turnovers than that so he's a guy that needs to come on the scene and help that offense great defense a plane oklahoma david. I'm i'm gonna wait to see that oklahoma defense. They get more than one guy to the ball to create a turnover but how about lesson. I know when less miles to go to kansas. Everybody was thinking what is less dawn..

"We could have gotten money for him. We could have gotten money for Ramsey. I'm as crunchy out is any arsenal fan that exists. I hate that guy. Not only does not in. Check money into the club. He has a relationship to the Mizzou Tigers. And they're the Tottenham Hotspur NC double A athletics. So it's one of those situations where? I don't get that reference because I'm British. But it sounds insulting. Problems. Yes is son. Josh played basketball from zoo. That's out close the Artem zoo with all that Walton WalMart money. But it is one of those situations where arsenal or the architects of their own demise. Whether or not to be vinegar, whether or not to be Zita, the players have been out there that we could have sold Ozil included the could've brought money into the club. And instead we've allowed contracts run and we day Szekely allowed as it Ozil to create a mercenary contract of three hundred and fifty thousand pounds a week that he hasn't deserved this campaign by any stretch of the imagination, and it's killing our wage Bill, and the thing is, you know, you look back at the Alexis Henrik Muktar, Ian swap deal, obviously, Alexis making half a million pounds per week at United is ridiculous deal. The arsenal of been equally sort of impacted by Muktar ins almost two hundred thousand pounds a week. And he's doing little more than Sanchez, and it's same deal overblown wage. Budget's. It's gonna take Emory the winner window where we've been debating about this. But I'm still going to say it because I think it's great. It's no money MO problems, which is the arsenal winter window of twenty nineteen. But there's the idea that the sixth richest club in world football has no money to spend on transfers and can only loan players in is perhaps the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and the only people we have to blame are the people that were in charge of the club for the last three or four years. Now, I I think you had a great quote before we started the show which announced going to steal his MO money MO problems. So is that okay? Can I see all that? Now. I said it it's no money MO problems, though, you know, mo- of it while, you know, we're not man city that actually be man city when it but all right guys. I have two final questions. One question is Wayne Rooney was recently arrested. And yeah, the Sega twist. Wow. Yeah. In a DC airport for you know, yet a few to drink yet a few beverages. You know, is this is this, okay? For a world superstar to be doing James open up to you. I is it just him being you know, disa- lad, is is fine. Or what what do you what do you make this? Because for me, I feel like we've all been a situation where we could have been arrested for drunk, and disorderly wh what do you make this? Yeah. He's a. Krecko my blue moon hit now. Yeah. I mean, he comes out of the a bit of a lab as you put it for doing that. Because he is still in the game in the MLS. Now. I mean, he should really know. No, better to be honest. He hasn't had I mean after rattle my brain here going way back. He didn't have significant drinking problems that I head over when he was playing Manchester United Everton whatever year was so this. Yeah. I mean, it comes big news. Maybe because the fact that you know, from an English perspective. Maybe Americans can be a little more strict on drinking rules and being drunk, and disorderly know that the Brits con, but maybe he just got caught in the wrong place wrong time, whatever the situation is. But on a c-, I think, you know, whatever league you're playing in whatever sport it is. I mean, people know who you all. And so I think you have to have a little bit more kind of like decorum. If you wanna put it that way out to. This show. I mean, everyone was half on we wanna loose and get drunk and all that stuff. But I mean, that's the responsibility. You have when you become an athlete. Right. Is you have to kind of be a role model for these people? Now, I don't know what exactly he was saying to warrant his arrest. Just hut. He was just being drunken disorderly. Maybe that'll come out. Maybe you guys know..

"From that cabinet. Does absolutely. I think that they're acting out. But they believe the president wants them to do. That he wants them to act. As a matter of fact, if you pay attention, are you paid attention to the president doing his campaign when he talked byland he talked about beating up on people and taking them out on a stretcher in high school. I could take him behind the gym just the other day, he was laughing and basically appreciating the fact that member of congress had slammed a journalist, you cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy what you stand for what you care about. He in his own way. Really does do a lot to promote violent inveigle low. Expert have lying if you like your doctor on food, you'll be able to keep your doctor, of course, encouraging people in his own way to be valid ought to be racist. Or to be separatists. I think it's the worst thing that ever happened to us to have a president of this nature. Sherry, ladies and gentlemen. Excellent job, Sherri. Thank you high five that was so great. I need a little help though finishing it though. I think it needed maybe a little more needs just at the very end there needs to be one more spicy Meatball? I'm not sure we'll have to think of what the okay, we have all of these clever listeners who still want to talk about coffee. But what would be the one quote Beckett? Finish that on off the capper the kicker. What would that be? There's another one as accusing Trump she's accusing Trump of being racist. We have Claire mccaskill she's the Senator from Missouri, by the way, that's how you pronounce it in that state. It's Missouri, Missouri. Mizzou tigers. All right, so Missouri. So she's in the final stretch of her tight Senate race. I hope praying she gets booted because she's such a to face person. I mean, she she always come election time. She always goes back to the people of Missouri. And she just pretends like she's conservatives the day is long and that she goes back to the elections. She goes off the rails again. "Assisted eight eighty community relations. They broadcast Adelson in fact for the special agent in the CIA. You don't hear that much move with football analysts, Howard Richards Howard? Thanks so much for taking time to join us today. With you guys. Thanks, richard. I gotta ask old offensive lineman. You and are back in the seventies. And it was almost like three yards and a cloud of dust. Boy, the game has changed since you play football. No doubt about that. We have seen how offenses have evolved with the spread. And now with the run pass option. And it's more exciting for I think for fans to to to watch football games today as opposed to you know, when when I was playing back in the late seventy s but that said, you know, the game still hasn't changed much. It comes down to catching passes blocking and tackling tackling in really executing in all phases of the game. Is it correct to say that from last year the Mizzou Tigers have actually slowed it down a little bit? What they did a year ago. That is true. That is very true with Derek Dooley. As the offensive coordinator, he has not changed a whole lot. He has changed the pace. Of it focusing a lot more in the running game, but focusing more on balance as well to last year were more of a a pass heavy team. But this year it's about controlling the clock time possession and really trying to establish the running game with sort of a triumph of running backs. Howard. Of course, you played in the National Football League on the offensive line. But today, Memphis fans will see I think a prototype. And if a quarterback, drew lock he's very good. He is he has by his own admission struggled the last few weeks and not because he's freighter anything like that. It's really more about Druce desire to just make a play. But he's got to be able to balance that decision making in also deciding to get rid of the football. If there's no one open so the last few weeks, he has really sorta come under fire because of that. But he's a guy that has a short memory. He can bounce. Back. And I think, you know, the more he sees some of them stakes and he's made the more willing. He is to sort of come out. And correct all those things he's very humble guy. A great team leader players love him. So I suspect that this could be the week that he kinda puts it all together and kind of gets back on track to ended last year where he started the season, we may with our coaches on Thursday, our pre game routine, and they're very impressed. But it's been spin a little slim Pickens this year youth at both positions at both ends. You know, both the first thing in the second string. So it's going to take awhile for these young players to really figure out how to rush the passer in and do it effectively inconsistently. But you know, if that pass rush becomes a positive for this team. It will certainly help the back end defenders, you know, as they do their jobs, and hopefully that'll come sooner rather than later Howard before we let you go. "Community relations. They broadcasts Adelson. In fact, was a special agent in the CIA. You don't hear that much move with football, ammos, Howard, Richards, Howard? Thanks so much for taking time to join us today. Guys. Thanks, richard. I gotta ask old offensive lineman. You are back in the seventies. And it was almost like three yards and a cloud of dust. Boy, the game has changed since you play football. No doubt about that. We have seen how offenses have evolved, you know, with the spread and now with the run pass option, and it's more exciting for I think for fans to to to watch football games today as opposed to you know, when when I was playing back in the late seventy s but that said, you know, the game still hasn't changed much. It comes down to catching passes blocking and tackling tackling in really executing in all phases of the game is correct to say that from last year the Mizzou Tigers have actually slowed it down a little bit. What they did a year ago. That is true. That is very true with Derek Dooley. As the offensive coordinator, he has not changed a whole lot. He has changed the the pace. It focusing a lot more in the running game, but focusing more on balance as well to last year were more of a a pass heavy team. But this year it's about controlling the clock time possession and really trying to establish the running game with sort of a triumph for it of running backs. Howard. Of course, you played in the National Football League on the offensive line. But today Memphis fans will see I think a prototype NFL quarterback, Andrew luck. He's very good. He is he has by his own admission struggled the last few weeks and not because he's freighter anything like that. It's really more about Druce desire to just make a play. But he's got to be able to balance that decision making in also deciding to get rid of football. Great team leader players love him. So I suspect that that this could be the week that he kinda puts it all together and can gets back on track to ended last year. Where started this season, we may with our coaches on Thursday, our pre game routine, and they're very impressed. The fact that he can make throws in big places are small places. He's at talented. "What a day of college football. I know that maybe on Monday or Tuesday, you're looking at the college football slate and saying the other really good games this week other games that we could talk about that's going gonna last week the answer is. Yes, it seems like that is that's the way it is all the time. If they don't seem like they're big Martine matchups, and then something's gonna come out of that particular week of college football. Heck, we waited all this time for college. Football. And now it's here. So we got to be able to relish every week. It seems like it's the longest off-season of all the sports. So every week we got a of something, and so the number of storylines that came out of this college football Saturday. And of course, it starts from the top with Nick Sabin and the Alabama crimson tide. So he beat one of his former assistants again. So we've seen that before he talked about how Alabama's gonna play with a mob mentality. And I really believe as we talked to Andrea Adelson in our last hour covers college football for. Yes. PIN? I really believe that there is a difference in this football team than others. Sure. We've seen national championships won by Alabama under Nick Sabin before. We've seen them five times. What I'm telling you is that I think that there is a difference with this football team because of the amount of talent that we see not guys on the bench, and we're talking about Judy, and we're talking about Smith and Harris, and we're talking about Hertzen tunnel by Ola. We see so much talent on the offensive line. How good they? They were watching the game from start to finish the Alabama had today. I am and they were terrific, but they have been all season long. No matter the opponent. It just seems like they're raising the bar time and time again, and I know it's early but this offense and seen what there's any rain to it. I think the offense with two outlooks effortless. I really look look at certain athletes in college football, and pro sports and always think, okay. So who's going to really stand out? And when you see two out there from the left side is that southpaw throwing the football making others better. And I'm not trying to spread the rat poison. I'm just telling you that this is what I see. He looks like a special player. And I think that the first time he gets get hit in the mouth to a and this offense can sit in the mouth. That's where we're going to see whether or not they have a second or third year to me they are just on autopilot because they seem very confident and very smooth on what they're doing with the offense. I think that JIMBO Fisher the Texas A&_M head coach who was. On the and. Loss. He would agree about two and the Alabama offense. I think he's good. He's got good people around him. I think he's got really good people around him. And we we know trying to pressure them in any scrambled. And I got a good scheme. And they do a good job. I mean, he was very effective and what he did. And we got to play. But we gotta play better. There's no doubt. So thought Sarah from from JIMBO Fisher, he's built his program as well. And I thought they had a nice effort. But again, it's just head and shoulders. Of the rest when you see how Alabama has been able to perform so far. It's scary. Is that rat poison is just scary. And I look at the schedule coming up with they take on Louisiana and the raging Cajun's coming up on the twenty ninth in Arkansas. I see Missouri. Coming up on the thirteenth, Missouri is can be very difficult. We'll get to them in just a moment with Tennessee and LSU and Mississippi State, the citadel, and Auburn, I know that coaches will always tell you employers will tell you the same thing because they lose to the coaches that you gotta take each game and play one game at a time. But I just look at the schedule and say what can stop Alabama on the schedule. I mean, the only thing big stop Alabama's themselves based on how they play as we talk college football with you on game night with Jonathan hood on ESPN radio and ESPN app. So speaking of Georgia. In their match up against Mizzou. So Georgia's a team that I watch very closely. And Georgia had a rock in their shoot. Today that rock was Missouri. Every time that they tried to shake that rock loose out of their shoe. That'd be something else. There was bothersome to them in order for you to walk properly. Missouri. Just will not go away quietly in that game today at memorial stadium. Just they just continue to just stay in it against Georgia. And I believe that Georgia coming in. It was going to win the ball game. And I know that historically under Mark richt and in the past that sometimes Georgia's had a hard time against Missouri. But Mizzou's tight ends led by Albert, oh, I thought that they're very solid against Georgia's defense today at Georgia's offense is solid wood Jake from young quarterback for that BULLDOGS team. The running game has been productive over the years. And they are once again with swift and Holyfield I think they were aggressive angry runners today against the defense of Mizzou and this year the question is how they get. Better and better as the season progresses. That's one of the things that you kind of look out for to see how does Georgia get better. Now. This was again, not necessarily difficult a win for them difficult game for them. But it was just one of those things were Mizzou just showed a lot of a lot of gumption. I thought they showed a lot of gumption in this game for very autumn's Mizzou Tigers. And Kirby smart the head coach for Georgia. He just thought overall his team lacked discipline today didn't exactly expect it to go that way, we didn't play with disciplined composure really not much physicality when you look at the run game for us stopping the run defensively. We got a chain that's banged up. Peg is beat up banged up. Awesome guys in the game. But other guys stepped up and play, but we didn't play with the discipline. We need to play with and I'm responsible for that. And we'll get it fixed. So we think about the gap between one and two you heard from Kirby smart and Kirby smart knows exactly what he's doing. He's going to use that as a bull. Two board material because of the lack of discipline one of the things he's pointing out by the way, what happened at halftime where some of his players were mixing it up with Mizzou players. And he thought he was yelling at them before his on the field. Halftime interview. As a matter of fact, so he was happy with that. So I think that's what he's referring to some of the play out there on the field as well from Georgia. So I'm sure that that's going to be a point of conversation for the Georgia BULLDOGS in Athens this week. The other thing is too. We talked earlier about number one and number two the gap between one and two when it comes to college football or one two or three because as I exalt, and as we watch Alabama and how they continue to roll it makes you wonder how close is Georgia. How close is Clemson and other teams to the number one team in the country, again, all this may be able to be played out as we go throughout the regular season. But right now as good as Georgia's playing, and again, the arrows pointing out for them based on how they performed getting to the national championship game. We gotta find out exactly how close is number two to the number one team the all mighty Alabama crimson tide over the years watching college football as a kid one of the teams that I saw that was always around in the mix for the national championship. Always in a very high profile bowl game was the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Now that might be laughable to a certain generation. But I do remember when Nebraska when Lincoln was the spot when you want to see quality football would be would Nebraska now, I know that the alum and the boosters look in Nebraska and believe that they should be on top of the west that they should be in the same boat as Wisconsin on the same boat as as the Wildcats of northwestern, Ohio State Penn State that they should always be vying for big ten championship. But things have changed with that Brassica corn huskers. I think that times there was some firings that took place that I thought that was a little bit unjust. And I thought that that the Brassica needs time to be able to reset it toward ization resented school. It's program and Scott frost now is supposed to come in some savior. And I will tell you this that's gonna even even for Scott frost is gonna take some time for him to be able to build this program. And so what they're lost today. And it was embarrassing fashion to Nebraska to Michigan, by the way at the big house. It was a a really tough loss. Scott frost says it's gotta be rock bottom right here. I told him. I I honestly believe there's going to be the bottom right here. I don't know. How many times I've been a part of a game like that? But we gotta be in every phase. Really going to find out who loves football, and who loves each other and who's going to band together. We got a chance to hit reset next week. This is really good team. We played we get we get a game. We can win next week. We gotta find a way to get better. Interesting because looking at their schedule they lost to Colorado tough game lost to Troy, there's no shame losing Troy, by the way. 'cause Troy Alabama is a very good football team even for their level of play. They're still very good. And then losing fifty six to ten to Michigan. At the big house was was really tough and said are coming up will be Purdue fall by Wisconsin and north western already talk Tober thirteenth. I we're gonna find out who can play who can't play for sure on this Nebraska team. But I will say this. I would say that you gotta kinda wait Nebraska fans because there's no magic wand for that program. It's gonna take some time for Nebraska to get you back on top. If if you think Scott frost, the guy fine, but you still have to wait because it's it's just not a blessing for every time. You bring a new coach and that things will change our I straight ahead. The college football playoff rankings don't come out for another month. But that's not gonna stop me from giving you. You my playoff rankings? That's coming up next. You listen to the game night with Jonathan hood on ESPN radio and the ESPN app..

"Everyone forget says the topless show. So nice little surprise. We're gonna do a college football top twenty five countdown. We realized, oh, we four weeks still football, do five a week. We'll have twenty, but we're gonna twenty five because there's five show numbers are before. So we are all sounding today. We're gonna start at number twenty five. I don't know how Matt's dealing with numbers over there, but we're gonna go twenty five through twenty one today. Just run down our whole top twenty five. I had fun doing this and some teams that I really wanted to put in here. I didn't because I don't think they're going to be top twenty five at the end of the year. I will start off with my list though. I'm going number twenty five. You might call me an idiot, but these guys want ten games last year. Number twenty five on list. They're back army. These guys look great last year. They return a lot of starters schedule. Not too tough. So number twenty five for me. I'm going army number twenty four. They potentially have one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. The Mizzou Tigers they have all kinds of talent on offense. If they can get it going the SEC east. Not too tough. Once you get past Georgia, they're number twenty four for me. Number twenty. Three. I'm going with north western and Patty Fisher because I love that dude and I love their coach, Pat FitzGerald, Patty FitzGerald, modest, both patties with two DS PDD y.. I had to Irish number twenty two for me. I'm going Oklahoma state. I think they can take advantage of a weaker, big twelve, and they have a lot of talent, Justice hill, Cody back. I know they lost the receivers. They lost their quarterback, but these guys rebuild and just replenish that roster like crazy and the number twenty one. These guys will probably win the mountain west Boise state Brit ribian Rio number twenty. Five on my list I will is they don't lose at home number one and I can locker room and the peak locker room and actually liked the roster. I like Stanley quarterback as a college, quarterback things. Good player. I like what brings the table? You know the offense of lines going to be great. You know, the defense is going to be tough. So they play Wisconsin at home. That's like the game I would circle for them. I don't know that they have a shot to win their half of the big ten. I don't think so, but they're, they're going to lose some games, but they could still end up top twenty five. Yeah, and but I love them. So Nate Stanley watch out for him. Number twenty, four. I also met Boise state. Only thing I don't. I got Boise state. I'm colorblind and watching games when they're at home is hell. My eyes see. I'm not colorblind and it's hell on my. I cannot see people. I can't. I can't watch. Last year like, okay, where the fuck is the linebacker, not like which linebacker just can't see a person running on the field. They need to go white at home. Yes, they do something different. Blue on blue is just ridiculous. It is. It's an advantage though. It was cool ninety eight. We got changed that shit. Now it's annoying, Kansas state, here's thing, Kansas state. Those good. Hallways, it does not fucking matter that just won't go away. Always. They're going to be eight and four, nine and seven and five. So they're going to be good enough to be in the top twenty. And then at the end of the week, when you have to rank these guys, you're like, oh, fuck, Bill Snyder. There they got my vote, Kansas state Wildcats number twenty, two, Florida. I believe in what they're doing. They've been going through a lot of shit down there, but I do think they're going to get somewhat turned around in twenty one, Oregon, just Justin Herbert's dude, but the Pac twelve is tough this year..
